So Winter could be relevant, as well as the period from mid February to mid March. The number 21 could be relevent. So if we think in terms of dates it could be 02.21 or 03.21. The World speaks of cycles as well as the long term. So it could represent several years in terms of timing. When it comes to zodiac signs, The World is related to fixed signs. So Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius season could be relevant as well. Which means that you could meet them between mid April to mid May, mid July to mid August, mid October to mid November or mid January to mid February. The World could also represent a time of your life when you are traveling abroad. Again, the character depicted on the card has a lot of stars in their hair. So I'm thinking of the USA as well as the EU. As she is dressed in red, holds red roses and has horns on her head, I'm also being reminded of Spain. They could have a bit of a bad temper. Piercings also seem significant. On the sacred sexuality card, there’s a full moon and roses. This tell me this person is a romantic and is more of a night owl. First of all I have to say, when I was shuffling the cards for the WHEN? the bells of the nearby Church started ringing. So this tells me when you're going to Church either for communion or for a wedding. Summer is significant, especially from mid June to mid July. I would even say the month of June is the most significant of the two. When you go after your dreams, you will meet this person. On the DARE TO DREAM card, you can see a diamond trapped in an eagle's claw. For some reasons it reminded me of metal and rock bands, of concerts and big events like the Superbowl. So maybe one of your dreams is to go watch your favorite band/artist live or to go to Hellfest or any big convention that is happening in Summer. If there are any French people here, I'm thinking of the Olympics happening this Summer in Paris. And also the Japan Expo convention. In terms of timing, I’d say in a few months.

I'm not a competitive player, but I did my best to balance this fakemon fairly and not make it too broken. Feel free to give feedback if you have any thoughts!

I have a huge bias for Bug Pokemon since they're my favorite type, and at first I wanted to make it Bug/Ice, since any intervebrate could be tossed into the 'Bug' typing. But ultimately I decided to keep xeeble's original idea of Ice/Fairy. There's precedent of food-themed pokemon being Fairy type, and Ice/Fairy would be very interesting due to its rarity (only Alolan Ninetails has it). Its type weaknesses are also slightly easier to handle than Bug/Ice imo

The signature move is indeed based on real love darts, I could not resist something that fascinating being made into a Pokemon move, even if the real games may possibly shy away from the idea. (Honestly it could be argued "Love Dart" is based on Cupid's arrow so Gamefreak might actually get away with making a move like this though.) Its effectiveness on both males and females is a nod to snails/slugs being biological hermaphrodites. I can see this move also being learned by Gastrodon and Magcargo in Scarlet/Violet

M! Would you tell us about Aether wearing these around the Abbey?

First of all, Jim, I appreciate you so much 💜 Second of all, we all know Aether's magnificent behind would see a lot of action when he wears those pants around the Abbey. From Siblings and Ghouls and Papa's alike. Most of all from Copia. We know just how much he loves Aether's ass. And Aether? He'd use it as a response and invitation for almost everything and at the end of the day he'd be filthy and sore in so many ways.

So I scribbled a lil thing.  5+1 moments where Aether got his "patch(es) kissed". There's mildly spicy entertainment under the cut. No Papa's included this time (they might get their own someday) and no refunds of your time if it actually isn't entertaining and my brain fog suffering med addled self was lying to me.

Booty calls (He sure hopes it does)

1.

It‘s cathartic. Being alone and singing his heart out, that is. Letting himself sink into someone else's happiness without having personal ties to them. It’s something he needs more than he cares to admit. To himself and even less to the pack. He thrives on being social and being connected so deeply, don‘t get him wrong, but it‘s draining. Feeling other beings alongside his own all the time. The many unfortunate souls that seek shelter here. Chewed up and spit out by a society that produces loneliness en masse. Crushed souls and shattered minds hopeful for a new beginning and….

He sings even louder, over the dark cloud threatening to form in his mind, and shimmies with a pile of clothes in his arms through the room. His tail swishing and bopping, used as a makeshift microphone when he gets carried away by the vibes.

He bends over to stuff the washing machine full, ass still wriggling to the tune on the radio, when a pair of hands still his swaying hips and warm lips burn right through the layers of fabric, pulling a startled chuckle out of Aether. First on the patch, following its invitation to kiss it, then right on the seam between his cheeks. Further down on the banana, followed by a bite that has his breath hitching in anticipation. He knows what the sight of him doing so mundane, so humanly domestic things like laundry does to Dewdrop. 

He feels the same when Dewdrop is in his element, showing his magic in the kitchen. A natural in combining flavors and textures and bringing Aether to his knees for a taste.

„It says kiss it not eat me alive“

He feels, more than he hears, Dewdrop's low laugh when the water pump signals the starting washing cycle. The old thing’s too loud when it gets going but the vibrations do wonderful things to him, as Dewdrop hooks his fingers into and drags the waistband down to bare Aether to his hungry gaze.

 „Let me kiss it properly then“ is all he hears before Dewdrop spreads his cheeks and seals his lips over his hole, making out with it until Aether’s knees buckle and he has to grip the edge of the machine to keep himself upright. 

 Aether doesn‘t get around to folding the dry laundry waiting for him.

2.

After breakfast, Aurora and Sunshine make it a game to follow him around making loud obnoxious kissing noises when he turns his back to them. Aether pretends to ignore them until, in one careless second, they get too close and he gets his hands on them. He contemplates just sitting on them until they cry for mercy but decides to dump them unceremoniously into the lake and let the water ghoul conference deal with those brats.

3.

Around midday, he helps Ivy maintain his namesake on the Ghoul Wing walls. He’s standing on a stepstool, sweating as the sun beats down on him, gently removing some stray vines from the wooden window frames and hooking them into the growth support on the walls. It’s necessary work, otherwise they’ll infiltrate the whole building.  A gaggle of siblings has been hiding behind the columns for a while now, dissolving into helpless giggles every time he looks over at them, talking to each other in hushed, excited voices. 

„I can‘t just go up to him and….“ 

Aether can practically hear the wild hand gesturing.

„it‘s obviously an invitation!“ 

“But…”

“What what in the B…”

Someone snickers. A smacking sound follows. 

“He’s so big, just imagine….”

He laughs to himself at that, amused. He can smell the faint arousal mixed with a dash of fear. Can feel it in the aura surrounding them. Some of them are new and haven’t had the time to experience what a ghoul can and would do to them. Just dared to let their minds wander. Most of them think the masks are infused with a containment spell, making them harmless servants of the church. And, in Aether’s opinion, that’s half of the fun of the whole cat-and-mouse game. 

One sibling, clearly more shy than the others from what he’s observed today, finally breaks away from the group and leaves their hideout behind the stones. They walk straight, seemingly confident. A closer look reveals that their hands are shaking and that the fine line their lips are forming doesn’t stem from determination. 

They stop behind him, eyes firmly trained on the patch on his ass. A minute ticks by and just in time, he turns his head to see them raise their hand to their mouth. An exaggerated smooching sound follows and two fingertips press firmly against the patch. Aether wriggles his ass a little and cheers erupt behind him. 

They finally look up at him and he sends a wink their way.

“I appreciate someone that can follow instructions like that”

They smile in response before their eyes widen in realization and they almost fall over their own feet to run back to their friends. 

Yet, they linger. When Ivy makes him take a break it‘s the patch stuffed into their mouth, muffling the pleasured chants of his name.

4. 

During a nap on the couch in the common room, it‘s Swiss that follows his patch‘s invitation. Lips firm, nose pressed so far into the swell of his butt that Aether could swear he can feel his teeth. Swiss does it once, twice. A third time. Aether smiles sleepily, about to comment if it wasn’t on for the fourth,  where Swiss just keeps his face buried there and starts snoring. He ruffles the other Ghoul's hair affectionately before he closes his eyes and follows Swiss back into dreamland.  

He wakes to Swiss’ sliding the hard ridge of his cock against the letters on his ass, forcing Aether‘s hips into the couch over and over until they both come. 

„Messy kisses are the best“  Swiss smirks as he watches his cum seep in. 

5. In the evening, Aether goes to fetch some firewood from behind the greenhouse. 

Mountain steps in front of him when he’s about to leave.

„Road toll. You shall not pass without paying up“ 

The look on Mountain‘s face is almost unbearably cheesy and Aether can‘t help but play along. 

„And what, dear sir, can I offer you to let me through?“

Now, Mountain's eyes start to glint mischievously and he takes the wood from Aether, dropping it unceremoniously on the ground next to them. Then he steps closer and draws Aether up against himself with a firm grip on his ass, fingers digging deep into the patch on the inside of Aether’s thigh. It forces the Quint onto his tiptoes.  

“I have a craving for banana and cream”.

When Aether faceplants into his nest after his shift in the infirmary the next morning, only clad in boxer shorts, it doesn’t take long for Dewdrop to crawl between his legs and drop another kiss onto his ass where the patch had been sitting for too long in his opinion; giving Aether’s body freely away. It feels like a nod to the events in the laundry room yesterday when he was sending him off as he’s now welcomed back. 

“I missed you, starlight”  The words come sometime in between bouts of scenting him. In a narrow time frame when he pauses and starts anew. More of a breath than a sentence.

“Missed you too, firefly” 

Aether says and sinks into the feeling, lets the emotions that well up thrum through their bond, and accepts Dew’s in return. It’s easy when it’s him. A being so deeply interwoven with his own for so long.  A part of him wishes it would never end, the other wishes Dew would let him roll over and reciprocate sooner than later.  

Finally, after giving himself a moment to playfully nip into Aether’s thighs where Mountain left his mark earlier, he nuzzles and kisses his way up Aether‘s back. Aether inhales -  sharply -  then exhales - slowly -  with a laugh and reaches behind him blindly to tangle his fingers in Dew’s hair, craving more contact.

“Easy, easy. I’m here. All yours again”

Dew settles around him like warm summer rain. Calming, warm. The need to reclaim swinging along like an afterthought. 

“Want to mark you inside. Let me?” 

It’s a demand, packaged in a whispered question, to a star who would never say no to being consumed by fire.

Squishmallows suck. Easily the second-worst plushie brand (second only to Beanie Boos but that's less controversial afaik)

1- They're the Funko Pops of plushies, all just slight variations on the same bland cookie-cutter outline: an oval/blob/egg-shape with a dead-eyed smiley face. They don't actually resemble the animals/creatures they're based on much, only slapping on one or two heavily simplified features like flat fabric triangles for ears, onto the otherwise identical shape. The designs are cheap, lazy, uninspired, and corporate. I prefer my stuffed animals to actually look like animals, and have limbs, and a variety of body shapes.

2- They're overpriced, and deliberately encourage over-consumption, with thousands of "collect them all" varieties and "rare" ones and hype/trend cycle and all. And the scalpers/flippers... There was one called Jack the Black Cat that was "limited edition" (artificially scarce) because only 500 were ever produced, and even by Squishmallow standards it's boring af (solid black cat with white facial embroidery) but there have been MULTIPLE cases of collectors paying over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1000) on ebay for a single stuffed animal that you could probably DIY a knockoff version with like $20 worth of materials. Madness.

3- Rebuttals to common arguments:

a- "But they're so soft!" Yes, but Squishmallow doesn't have a patent over the type of fabric. You can find plenty of other stuffed animals with it, it's called "mochi minky".

b- "But you can use them as pillows!" Okay, but in that case we're no longer discussing their merits *as plushies* in the same realm as Jellycat, Douglas, Aurora, Build-a-Bear, etc so it doesn't negate my point that Squishmallows are bad *plushies* even if they're good pillows. And hell, this is just me as an adult autistic person, I imagine the fact they don't have limbs makes it hard for children to actually *play* with them as is the original intent of stuffed animals existing.

To be honest, I thought this was the cereal Gumball and Darwin used to eat.

“I never would have expected such an unsavory individual to be dressed so well.”

“ ‘S not all that uncommon.”

The Captivating Princess crinkled her nose in distaste. An upper-class accent lurked beneath the working-class slang. Which meant that the disrespect, and lack of manners, was intentional. Still, the Malignant Assassin was the best tool that money could buy, or so the rumors went. She wouldn’t be putting up with this otherwise.

Unfortunately, she needs to put up with it. “You weren’t the easiest to find. There were quite a few difficulties arranging this on my end. It would have been easier if you had come to the Palace in the first place.”

They snorted, but offered no reply. 

The Princess studied their eyes, drew their glowing green gaze towards her. Still, nothing. Normally people would be falling over themselves to appease and apologize to her by this point. Yet she seemed to have little such affect on them. Peculiar. Or perhaps her effect was that they were co-operating at all.

Well, if they weren’t going to talk, then that gave her an opportunity. “I’m certain you know who I am, and there’s not a soul in London who doesn’t know my family,” she begins. Really, the words themselves are meaningless, but talking gives her the ability to persuade the other person, and influence them before she even brings up what is it that she wants. Manipulation is an intricate and slow waltz. 

More importantly however, it gave her time to evaluate the situation, without it being made obvious that she was doing so.

The room was dimly lit, with only a few scant candles. The darkness of it made the Assassin’s eyes stand out all the more. She could see the red glow of her own eyes reflected in them, which perplexed her all the more that they were still so defiant. 

They do not sit on the chair, rather they lounge across it. The improper posture clashes with their formal outfit. They even wore gloves, though their hands fiddled with a knife. They ran a thumb over the flat of the blade, or occasionally twirl it back and forth. She even watched as they cycled through a few practiced motions which she was certain they’ve used on past jobs. Twisting and twirling the knife with more grace than expected.

She focused more on the physical characteristics. Their hair was long, blond, and looked closer to unkempt than not. It wasn’t kept in any sort of up-do whatsoever, merely brushed out of their face, a few stands tied back. It further cemented in her mind the Assassin’s distaste for anything found in proper society. She noticed they tended to keep their hair from tangling around their ears at least. It showed off their jewelry, though this is not what caught her attention. No, what caught her attention was the elongated length, and pointed shape. Ears like that nearly always indicated a dangerous individual indeed.

Yet, despite these details, the Assassin commanded no audience. They sat there, twirling their knife, and looking very bored indeed.. They simply joined in to the background hum, except for those glowing eyes.

“So I-”

“You want me to kill someone,” they interrupted. “It’s the only reason someone contacts me.”

The Princess was at a loss for words for one precious moment. If persuasion was a slow waltz, then the band came to a dead halt. It was not merely that they were bad at dancing, simply that they refused, then stuck their foot out when she tried to make them join in. She continued anyways, refusing them the pleasure of seeing her stumble. “Yes, I have a job for your specific expertise.”

“Could’a said that ten minutes ago,” they grumbled.

She pretended she didn’t hear that, and continued anyway. “Just one teensy tiny little problem I need you to resolve for me.”

“And if it’s such a ‘teeny tiny little problem’ why can’t you ‘resolve’ it? ‘Fraid to get your hands dirty, your Highness?” Sarcasm dripped from every word.

Her smile tightened. “The very nature of the situation requires things cannot be traced back to me. Hence them requiring your skills.” She paused, and studied their face. A thought occurred. “Are you truly that keen to miss out on payment?”

Their eyes flicker with interest. Ah, so that’s the language they speak. She’s found the steps to this particular waltz at last, and they’re quite simple ones at that. Her face relaxers once more. Yes, she knows what to do now.

“Are you willing t’ pay my services? I ain’t cheap.” She smirks. That was the tone she liked to hear. The Princess reached down and grabbed a small bag from the floor. The contents were muffled by the thick velvet, but the Assassin’s ears still twitched. They watched her intently, as she reached in and withdrew a large and fabulous diamond. She twisted it in her hands, allowing it to catch the candlelight. “If you

agree, I’ll pay you this one now, as a show of… good faith. You’ll receive a dozen more, all of similar value, when the deed has been done.”

Their eyes widen slightly, though their face remains neutral. “Awful lot for one job,” they mumble. Then, in a louder voice, “I’ll need a name and your conditions, Princess.”

“They’ve been a persistent little problem. Elias Leroux, do you know them?”

She watched as they considered the name for a minute, then shook their head. “Heard the name once or twice, never met ‘em.”

Despite that being what she had hoped for, the Princess was still a bit shocked. It was harder to find someone who didn’t know them, than it was to find someone who did. Still, this was very good news indeed. This Assassin was one of the rare people in London the little usurper hadn’t won over. “They wear very messy clothes. I expect they’ll be easy for you to find.”

“And the conditions?”

“Firstly, as I mentioned earlier, This needs to be done in such a way that it cannot be traced back to me. No messy loose threads, no one to see it happen, nor to discover it too soon, none of that. Isolation would be ideal, I should think. I want this done cleanly.” She paused, waiting for interjection. When none came, she continued. “Secondly, and far more importantly, I need them to miss an event. This event occurs on the first Thursday of each month, Which month you choose to do so is up to you, so long as you do it. I want them gone the whole night. If you have to keep killing them, do so, and I will pay you the money to make up for it, but they must be gone the entire night. Those are my conditions.”

The Assassin considered it for a moment as they twirled their blade. After a brief moment of thought, they seemed to come to a conclusion. They thrust an open palm in her direction. She pressed the diamond into their glove with a smile. 

The Assassin flashed a sharp smirk, and narrowed their eyes. They retracted their hand quickly, twisting the diamond around now. “Alright, I’ll do it. But what’s t’ stop me from telling everyone their beloved Princess is goin’ around hiring ‘unsavory individuals’ t’ bloody their hands for her?”

She flashed her own smile. “Oh, you can try dear, but no one will believe your word over mine.”

Aurora Legion Installations

this has been bothering me for a few days and I figure now is the time I write it out

so without further ado:

Aurora Legion permanent installations:

AL-01: The Aurora Academy. Stationed in the Aurora system, this is the beating heart if the legion. It hosts primary training facilities for all legionnaires, Rearm and Refit facilities, The offices of both current admirals (or admiral equivalents), Centcomm for all Aurora legion missions, a small exclave of Aurora Labs, and [Data Redacted]. The oldest station in the fleet, currently undergoing phases 6 & 7 of expansion (circa AL:152)

AL-02: Aurora Yards. Stationed in the Aurora system’s Asteroid belt, this humongous shipyard produces everything from AL ground craft, to the Blockhouse class carriers. Any heavily damaged craft arriving at any Aurora Legion installation will be shipped here to upgrades, refit, and repair. Currently overseen by Chief Mechanical officer (the big gear head), Tobias Crookes. [Admin credentials accepted, Welcome Founder_03] Next designated CMO: Finian De Karan De Seel. Due to cycle from Flight status in AL:157

AL-03: Aurora Labs. Stationed in [Admin Redacted]. Aurora Labs is the foremost research laboratory in the known galaxy. It is from here that the designs of everything from the lowliest disruptor pistol to the Greatest of prototype AL battleships flow. Manned by a mix of Flight duty retired (FDR) Gearheads and Brains, it is widely considered to have the highest number of brain cells per capita in all of the Milky Way. [Admin Credentials Accepted, Welcome Founder_03] Aurora labs is also where various Rahaam hulks were taken after AL:150, current priority is salvaging Terran Nuclear ordinance and reverse engineering Syldrathi Pulse cannons. The Aurora Legion has many enemies, it’s time we can fight them on equal footing.

AL-04: Aurora Base, Initial headquarters of The Aurora Legion, in service until the end of Phase 1. Stationed on Luna, based out of a former TDF Sigint site. The legion rapidly outgrew this facility, and it was officially struck from the registrar in AL:45 [Admin Credentials Accepted] AL-04 was reactivated in AL:148 At the command of Admiral Adam’s to catalogue GIA transmissions for evidence of the Rahaam. Current status: still operating, Monitoring Unbroken Communications.

AL-05: Aurora Summit: Informally known as the Face Space, This is a station located in the neutral Zone, manned primarily by FD:R Faces. It is here where most AL sponsored peace talks take place. Also Acts as the inrout for most non AL goods into the Legion. Faces make for good trade negotiators. Expansion needed After AL:150 due to Rahaam induced instability.

AL-06: Aurora Barracks: Aurora Barracks, located in the Aurora System, as a trailing substation behind Aurora Academy, is the base for Large fleet elements (like Blockhouse class carriers, and formerly the ex-TDF Indefatigable and Dauntless battleships), and AL ground forces. These so called “Pounders” are FD:R tanks that have chosen to renew their enlistment. These pounders then become everything from drop troops to station security. They generally get where they need to go on Blockhouses, and will act as semi-permanent peacekeepers and occupation forces.

AL-00: The Blacksite. Created in AL:151 from the hulk of the Ex-TDF dauntless, AL-00 is the place where the Aurora legion sends things that they don’t want known. It’s two main functions are R&D and Prisoner Detainment. Research includes Weaponization of Eshvaren Crystal, Stealth vessels, and high yield low contamination Nuclear Warheads. Originally the AL handed prisoners over to the GIA and TerraGov, but given the general institutional distrust of The AL after AL:150, it was decided to keep the most dangerous, and most valuable prisoners, under legion control.

WAKE UP AURORA CYCLE FANDOM!!!!! I am here to drop some random headcanons!!

!SPOILER FOR ALL THREE BOOKS!

1- Do you all remember when Scar (or was it Cat?) said that Tyler read about old generals? Well, I believe Scar studied about strong women in history, like Cleopatra, but would never admit it because she doesn’t want to be seen as a nerd lol.

2- Tyler kept Shamrock after Cat died and it just sat in his office until his a four year old Lae found it and fell in love with the toy. At first Tyler didn’t know how to feel, part of him was happy that his daughter was happy and the other was worried for the only part of Cat he had left. Shamrock still had her smell, it was just like she left it before she died, Lae could end up ruining the old toy without even wanting, and that was the last thing Tyler wanted; and for his luck, he couldn’t be more wrong. Lae was so careful with the toy she covered him to fall asleep with her, kissed him goodnight and took care of the dragon as if it was the most precious thing in the world. That made Tyler feel like Cat was taking care of Lae, she was still a part of his life.

3- Both Fin and Auri are fish people, not cat, not dog, but fish. Auri had a goldfish called Goldie back at home (Callie took care of her after Aurora left) and Fin had one weird fish he gave to one of his brothers after he went to live with his grandparents for the zero gravity; both of them missed their fishes so much their partners got them new ones, which they adore just as much. Aurora's fish was named by Kal, and received the most creative name ever: Fish; while Fin's is called "Sushi the second", after his late pet.

I have 0 writing skills, but my brain keeps tossing concepts at me. Sometimes these ideas get pretty complex, but they’re never quite complete. So, I guess I’ll just throw this out there as the lamest form of fanfiction ever created? (If anyone wants to adopt this concept—go for it, you have my blessing, for I will never expand it further!)

Concept:

This is a The Raven Cycle/Dreamer Trilogy Alternate Universe (AU) with no magic. The characters are aged up, and while they all knew each other in school and were once close (in many different ways), life has drifted them apart. The story takes place mostly in Washington, D.C.

Characters & Plot(holes):

Adam Parrish works in the District Attorney's office, involved in a high-profile case against Colin Greenmantle, a notorious criminal mastermind. Greenmantle’s been involved in drug trafficking, forgery, blackmail, and more, but Adam can’t nail him—there’s no solid proof. It’s driving him mad until he begins receiving anonymous tips. Skeptical at first, Adam soon realizes they’re legit, and with this help, he’s able to land the first serious blow against Greenmantle.

Richard Gansey III is now a young, popular senator, considered a political prodigy. While admired by many, he’s also made powerful enemies in the political arena. Over the years, he’s distanced himself from his old friends, although he crosses paths with Adam occasionally, usually at official events. He also runs into Declan Lynch, the personal assistant to Senator Seondeok Cheng, though their interactions remain distant and formal—there’s an unspoken tension between them, and, additionally, Gansey and Senator Cheng often clash.

Joseph Kavinsky works for Greenmantle, managing drug operations. Because of reasons [Plot Hole #1], he decides that if he wants to survive, he needs to escape Greenmantle’s grasp. But no one leaves Greenmantle’s web in one piece. To get out, Kavinsky starts feeding information to Adam—yes, he’s the anonymous tipster! Once Adam discovers Kavinsky’s identity, they have a heated confrontation, and Adam nearly shuts him down. But Kavinsky drops a bombshell: he has proof that Greenmantle orchestrated the murders of Niall and Aurora Lynch, Ronan’s parents, all those years ago. This tips the scales, and Adam decides to continue working with him. First, however, he needs to check with Ronan.

Ronan Lynch has made some bad decisions in life and is estranged from everyone—Adam, Gansey, even Declan. When Adam visits him at his home, back in Virginia, he’s slightly surprised to find Ronan under house arrest, an ankle monitor keeping him confined to the Barns. There’s tension between them from the start, a mix of unresolved feelings, hurt, and something more difficult to name. Ronan, being direct as ever, quickly gets Adam to admit why he’s really there. When Adam reveals that Kavinsky claims to have proof about his parents’ murder, Ronan snarls, "You want my blessing or what, Parrish?" and takes a swig from his beer.

When Adam returns to Washington, he finds Kavinsky waiting for him in his apartment with Hennessy, who works for Greenmantle in the art forgery department. Hennessy has somehow discovered that Kavinsky plans to betray Greenmantle [Plot Hole #2] and decides to join him in taking Greenmantle down. Her motivation? She’s tired of Greenmantle threatening her sister Jordan, who’s trying to live a normal, legal life—Jordan has recently started seeing a guy she met at a fundraiser at the art gallery where she works, a fundraiser organized by Senator Cheng (or rather, her assistant, Declan—yes, that guy Jordan's seeing).

Senator Cheng, although powerful, finds herself caught in Greenmantle’s web. He’s blackmailing her, forcing her to vote his way in the Senate, something that frustrates her deeply. Declan notices her odd behavior, which threatens her political career. When he confronts her, she makes a vague comment about someone pulling the strings behind the scenes, leaving Declan to piece it together. Declan eventually reaches out to Gansey, who reveals that Adam might be on the verge of exposing something big.

Kavinsky tells Adam about a major upcoming drug deal that could be Greenmantle’s undoing. The two of them, occassionally joined by Hennessy, work late into the night at Adam’s penthouse, preparing their plan. And sure, Kavinsky is a pain in the ass in many ways, but he’s also pretty smart and cunning, and quite good looking, Adam reckons. He can be quite funny, too.

Things escalate when Greenmantle discovers Kavinsky’s betrayal [Plot Hole #3]. There’s a dramatic car chase through the streets of Washington, with Kavinsky on the phone with Adam, telling him to get Hennessy to safety. Prokopenko, one of Greenmantle’s thugs, shoots out the tires of Kavinsky’s white Mitsubishi, leading to a spectacular crash. The Mitsu is totalled. By some miracle, Kavinsky survives, but he’s injured and unconscious. With a crowd gathering, Prokopenko can’t finish the job, and Kavinsky is taken to the hospital. Adam and Hennessy quickly sneak him out through the back door once he’s stable enough and drive him out of town. ("Make sure he’s asleep. Or better, tie him up." "Why?" "Because if he knows where we’re heading, he might try to jump ouf of the car.")

They’re going to the Barns.

Adam stashes Kavinsky at Ronan’s house, despite Ronan’s fury at the idea. ("I know what happened between you two back then, but I don’t have a choice, Ronan. All the information about your parents... it’s from him.") Ronan’s pissed but restrained by his ankle monitor, so he’s stuck with them. Hennessy calls her sister Jordan, warning her to lay low, and Ronan overhears their strained conversation. He notices how similar Hennessy and Jordan’s relationship is to his with Declan—complicated and distant.

Adam stays at the Barns until Kavinsky is better. They’re forced to wait and adjust their original plan. Adam is on the phone with Gansey constantly, and Gansey’s political connections become crucial to the new strategy [Plot Hole #4].

As Adam, Ronan, and Kavinsky are forced into close proximity, their complicated pasts and unresolved feelings rise to the surface. What starts as antagonism and old attraction gradually turns into an exploration of a polyamorous relationship, surprising all three. The emotional depth, tension, and vulnerability between them add complexity to their interactions.

Meanwhile, Greenmantle, desperate to find Hennessy, manipulates Jordan into luring her sister out. However, this backfires—Declan storms into the art auction John Wick-style to rescue Jordan. During the escape, Declan is shot, but he still manages to get her to safety. His bravery and injury end up deepening his relationship with Jordan (also, he’s undeniably sexy while bleeding, so I can't leave it out).

Greenmantle’s empire begins to collapse. Senator Cheng uses her political maneuvering, Gansey applies his influence, and Adam, with Kavinsky’s help, provides the legal expertise to tighten the net around Greenmantle. In the end, Greenmantle is brought down, but the characters are left to deal with the aftermath.

Declan and Jordan’s relationship becomes serious, while Ronan and Declan begin to rebuild their brotherly bond, slowly healing old wounds. Adam, Ronan, and Kavinsky navigate their new, unconventional relationship as they embrace the possibility of polyamory.

Happily ever after.

A Colorful Aurora Paints the Night Sky

As we move into the peak of solar cycle 25, activity on the Sun has been ratcheting up. One sign of that appeared in Earth’s atmosphere in the form of an impressive display of the aurora borealis, or northern lights, which was visible to observers on the ground beyond the Arctic Circle and deep into the midlatitudes in October 2024.

Millions of skywatchers were treated to the green, pink, and red lights of the aurora overnight on October 10-11. At 1:55 a.m. Eastern Time (05:55 Universal Time) on October 11, the VIIRS (Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite) on the NOAA-20 satellite acquired this image of the aurora. The VIIRS day-night band detects nighttime light in a range of wavelengths from green to near-infrared and uses filtering techniques to observe signals such as city lights, reflected moonlight, and auroras.

In this view, the northern lights appear as ribbons of white crossing parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan in the U.S., and several provinces in Canada. But auroras are dynamic, and different coverage and patterns of light would have been visible at other times of the night. While these satellite data are shown in grayscale, viewers on the ground saw colors from green (the most common) to purple to red. Atmospheric compounds found at different altitudes influence an aurora’s color.

An astronaut on the International Space Station captured the photograph below of green hues of the aurora dancing across the planet’s surface, with a layer of deep red light above.

The light show was the visible manifestation of a severe geomagnetic storm—a disturbance of the upper atmosphere caused by the interaction of pressure waves and electromagnetic energy from the Sun interacting with Earth’s magnetic field, or magnetosphere.

In this case, the storm was caused by energized material emitted from the Sun, also known as a coronal mass ejection, that occurred in tandem with an intense solar flare on October 8, 2024. Whereas solar flares reach the planet in a matter of minutes and interfere with radio communications, coronal mass ejections may take several days to travel to Earth.

Coronal mass ejections contain large amounts of plasma from the Sun’s corona and carry with them an embedded magnetic field. Interactions between these expulsions from the Sun and the upper atmosphere of Earth produce the colorful auroral displays. According to NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center, the storm ranked 4 out of 5 in severity.

The aurora was visible from many areas worldwide, including latitudes where sightings of auroras are uncommon. Auroras occur high in the atmosphere, so observers on the ground can potentially witness them from far away—well beyond the areas covered by the band of light in the satellite image at the top of this page. Photographs of the aurora were shared from Nevada, North Carolina, Arizona, and Texas. The National Weather Service in Lubbock, Texas, shared photos of the aurora in shades of pink and green.

So they've been butting heads the past few days and now the tension has boiled over) but that all changes and turns so super soft when the new guy lets slip that Dew is his first since being summoned.

The look in question happened only a few hours ago: the pair of them galivanting around the stage, charging at each other like wild bulls during the bridge of Year Zero. Until Ifrit rose up on his toes, hovering only a few inches above Dew as he leaned in for a mock kiss. He may as well have been two feet taller with the way his rich brown eyes bore straight into Dew's, getting closer and closer until the water ghoul was forced to pull away.

Dew helps his papa out with a blow job. That's it, that's the fic.   The first few days of tour are always the worst. Copia’s stressed, not sleeping. Intent on making sure everything is going to be perfect. He doesn’t take care of himself. And as much as his ghouls try to badger him into eating and drinking and sleeping, he never does. It happens every single cycle, until Dew inevitably finds a way to get him alone, take him apart, and put him back together. It’s as ritual as the rituals are. But by Dew’s count, they’re a few days late.
