Season one shows Jamie can be cruel. He needs a lot of work, not as an athlete but as a team player. He’s miserable. So he’s a selfish prick.

Season one shows Sam is insecure. He needs a lot of work, as an athlete to reach his potential with individual skill. He’s miserable but trying his best.

In the background we learn Jamie has a mostly absentee father, that only cares about his son through his sporting ability. He’s cruel and a driving menacing force in his son’s life.

In the background we learn Sam has a constant loving role model as a father, who cares about him completely. He’s kind and a driving force inspiring his son’s life.

And in season 2 when Sam & Jamie are thrust back together. With so much tension between them, it’s so sweet to see Jamie constantly hanging onto Sam.

Jamie was always jealous of Sam’s relationship with his father. And belittled him to cover it.

In season 2 Jamie looks up to Sam. Instead of being jealous or cruel. He apologizes, he supports Sam.

Sam supports Jamie as a person. Jamie supports Sam as an athlete.

They both grow - together.

Building up to their season 3 tributes to each other.

I love how subtle it is in season 2. Sam always letting Jamie just cling to him.

Sophie loves to go dancing, but she rarely goes with Nate. He takes it too seriously, and he always get involved in the dance hall politics. Plus, as technical and detail oriented as he is, he isn't really good at dancing. He can do the steps, but he doesn't understand how to let himself get swept away by the music.

The first time she asked Eliot, he laughed at her. Said there was no way he was going to spend his night off in some dusty ballroom when he could be at home relaxing. She'd shrugged it off, having anticipated his refusal, and had gone by herself, intending to find a partner when she got there.

Except when she showed up, she found Eliot dressed in jeans and a button-down shirt, his hair pulled back in a pony tail, mumbling something about not wanting her to have to go without a partner.

The next time she asked, he complained about how slippery his shoes were and how handsy Mrs. Gunderson had been during the open dance, but he picked Sophie up at 6 and dropped her off at 10 and smiled most of the time between.

A week after that, she found a flyer for a foxtrot competition slipped under her door, with the note "I'm free on Saturday" scrawled across the bottom.

They go several times a month now. Hardison laughs when he finds out, but Eliot says it's good exercise. Parker is very excited about their trophy but loses interest when she finds out it's plastic. Nate comes to watch sometimes, because as much as he dislikes dancing himself, he appreciates the skill involved.

aftg au where bee adopted andrew and later aaron when they were teens. she owns an apple orchard that the twins and occasionally a few of the foxes help run but it's almost harvest season and she needs help prepping everything for the town's fall festivals so she decided to put up a help wanted ad. neil, tired, alone, and running out of options, decides to apply. bee let's him use the renovated barn loft as residence when she learns he's homeless. andrew is wary, his family means everything to him and neil is a flightly little thing that could only bring bad news, but something about neil is familiar. maybe it's how he checks all his exits or how he flinches when people touch him or how he cradles the key bee gave him in his palm like it was a treasure instead of a piece of metal. he asks neil for truths and it's like bleeding a rock but he finds neil is more willing when truth is reciprocated. they spend their days walking down the lines of apple trees, harvesting and talking, and andrew is only a little mesmerized with the way neil's auburn curls blend with the red of the apples and his eyes match the sky like something deliberate, like he was meant to be here. andrew thinks that maybe he doesn't hate how neil looks at him like he's worth something. andrew thinks that maybe he doesn't want to lose this. he's still learning how to accept that not everything is transactional, he doesn't need to make deals to keep people close, hes still figuring out how to want things without the fear of them being snatched away. his mind screams at him to turn away and push any feeling aside but then neil is handing him an apple and smiling and telling him stories he says he's never told anyone else and andrew doesn't think he deserves this but he wants it

I can’t even explain how I feel watching women’s gymnastics at the Olympics and NOT ONE comment was made about anyone’s body or build or shape or literally anything but the sport. I remember the way the commentators would tear apart the girls when I was younger—and that doubtless colored how i thought about myself.

Actually, the only body metric I’ve heard discussed at all during the Olympics coverage has been height—and that has been only in two contexts: one, talking about how swimmers of different heights might set their starting blocks differently, and two, a shorter-than-typical volleyball player saying she wants shorter girls to know they can play at the top level too.

It’s just a lot different—and a lot healthier than the stuff I grew up with.

i think peter parker had been trying and failing to breakdance long before the spider-bite, and is just happy to discover he finally has the upper body strength to actually pull it off now

My gifs of Hiroyuki Sanada as Akira Hoshino in The Kamikaze Adventurer (1981). In my opinion one of the best 'plots' of the movies filmed to showcase the talent at JAC in the 1980s.

Sanada-san is a gymnast/uni student who gets involved in a robbery just for the sake of adventure, with Shinichi (Sonny) Chiba as the lead character and main robber. It's campy, sad and/or funny at several points, including a scene with Hiroyuki involuntarily getting stripped down to his underwear lol (which I haven't made a gif of, I know what you thought, you pervs from the Sanada Tumblr tribe 🤣🤣) but yeah, not too bad overall and it's a pleasant rewatch too.

Half (time) life ! The server is cut in half by another border (so like you can cross it but not without effort and you can’t get very far) and players are distributed between the sides. Like dodgeball your goal is to outlast the other team. Three lives system as usual. The boogeymen can cross to kill. One enchantment table at spawn.

For some extra toppings:

- the game is timed (like limited life)

- you can defect from your team but only once (and you can’t return to your original team)

- you can give a life to "revive" a teammate

- every session the teams switch sides (?)

This has been my terrible proposal: consider the haikyuu esque dramatic fanart we could have here. How it works with the winners craft the next game HC and how cool it would be to see big team ups come against eachother. Jersey skins. Also lets make Gem and Skizz the team captains. thank you for your time 🕺
