Aha, I always thought it was the same character, because in the Swedish dubs of Astérix chez les Bretons and Astérix et le Coup du menhir, this Roman Centurion is undoubtedly treated as the same character and is voiced by Peter Harryson in both movies.

While in the Swedish dub of Asterix in Amerika, he is instead voiced by Håkan Mohede who not only gives him a different personality, but also an Italian accent… I've always found this annoying, but now I know why.

You may think these are from the same Animated Asterix movie but they reused the same character model of this Roman Centurion for three different Asterix movies, (Asterix in Britain, Asterix & the Big Fight & Asterix Conquers America) and are treated as completely different characters.

Si vous passez au Québec pendant la période des Fêtes, si vous connaissez un Québécois (né ici) de 55 ans et moins, fort à parier qu'au fil d'une conversation vous entendiez parler de Ciné-cadeau.

Mais qu'est-ce que c'est?

Depuis 1982, Radio-Québéc (devenue télé-Québec en 1996), une chaîne de télévision québécoise publique à vocations éducative et culturelle, diffuse de la mi-décembre aux premiers jours de janvier une programmation spéciale jeunesse pour les Fêtes!

Films et séries, d'ici et d'ailleurs se succèdent. C'est grâce à Ciné-cadeau que ma génération a connu Astérix, Tintin, Lucky Luke, Garfield, Mafalda, Charlie Brown et j'en passe. Chaque année, la divulgation de la programmation engendre l'euphorie. On retrouve avec nostalgie nos premiers coup de coeur et on découvre avec joie les nouvelles trouvailles.

Le film le plus emblématique de Ciné-cadeau est sans AUCUN doute: La guerre des tuques. Premier film de la série "Les contes pour tous" de Roch Demers. Sortie en 1984, a été distribué dans plus de 125 pays. Il raconte l'histoire d'un groupe de jeunes cherchant à s'occuper pendant les vacances de Noël décide de se diviser en 2 groupes et de se faire la guerre de boules de neige. La chanson thème "L'Amour a pris son temps" est tout aussi classique que le film lui-même, chanté par Nathalie Simard.

Un remake d’animation a été produit en 2015. Il a reçu un bon accueil, mais rien ne surpasse la version originale. Céline Dion a même chanté sur la bande originale de cette version.

Je ne peux que vous suggérer fortement de voir ce film tellement il est magnifique. Toutes les répliques sont cultes.

Sur une note plus personnelle, un de mes plus beaux souvenirs de Ciné-cadeau est le film suédois sorti en 1982: Peter le chat sans queue. (J'imagine que ça vous surprend qu'à moitié ^^) C'est tellement un beau film. Si vous avez des enfants ou si vous avez toujours votre coeur d'enfant, regadez-le aussi.

It's full of broad stereotypes and silly sight gags, but manages to be so in a mostly charming way. Plus there's childhood nostalgia to be considered.

two stuffed toys i got hours after my birth : souris-feuille & souris-fleur. they're supposed to be gerbils or bears, i can't remember, but tbh they're don't look like anything (but cute ❤️). they've been stitched up so many times that one has an entirely different head lmao, and both changed 'coats' many times (the fabric they're made of)

what type of music keeps you grounded?

depends what you mean by grounded? when i'm anxious, it can be either very calm, soothing music with few instruments or metal with someone screaming. depends on the kind of anxiety. when i'm quiet-happy (like a sunny morning reading in bed) i like to listen to slow soul to keep this state of mind.

a raspberry flavored candy at work (my boss had some in his office) but nothing other that. but that's because i had a really good lunch at the canteen (greek sandwich and a 💯 orange cake) + i'm going to a georgian restaurant tonight and don't want to ruin my appetite ! otherwise i probably would have eaten some bread and roquerfort before dinner hehe

I've got nothing against it in itself but I'm not used to it so I can't eat it 😅

astérix chez les bretons? 🤣 i'm trying to think of a holiday film but i'm not coming up with anything... we don't have many of those in france and i don't think i've ever watched the american ones? i mean i probably watched some but rn i can't remember anything worthy of mentioning.

so yeah, astérix chez les bretons. bc even tho it's not a holiday film, for some reason, the astérix always run on the TV for christmas. and this one is my absolute favorite
