me and my dear twin sister got to meet up for the day to attend Armageddon! We had an entire bingo board and almost knocked off the entirety of it (Jesus cosplay WE WILL GET YOU NEXT YEAR!!)

My goal was to get something Hatsune Miku themed and I got four things!!

I am so happy I got the Miku Ita bag X3 next is to get the plushie >:)

I only got him for being toilet bonnie. He's my favourite variant HEHEHE

An awesome stall was selling some sticker books, so I got a gravity falls one because my twin LOVES gravity falls! And when I tell you I immediately bought that rubber ducky isopod sticker I am not lying. Rubber Ducky Isopods are my favourite isopod of all time.

The Asylum's Armageddon 2025

As of may 17th, I have finally watched the movie by way of Tubi and it was ridiculous as it was absurd and enjoyable. Just as any Asylum film is meant to be.

They went off the rails in this movie and it was enjoyable all the way to the end. Aliens got beaten at their own game by a bunch of Asylum nerds and a lot of resistance and standing by principles of the characters defending humanity.

Alien invasion failed by way of the very monsters they summoned in LOW DEFINITION.

Team Alien invasion blasting off awaaaaaaaaay with giant octopus leaving us to a uncertain fate!

2024 in Fanfic

In 2023 I wrote 185,542 words, and in 2024 I wrote 185,996, so at least I'm consistent?

I think it's interesting to look back at my 'goals' of 2024: Write something other than a Muggle AU (failed), convince everyone to ship Moonchaser (halfway there), write more smut (nailed it), read more (honestly, kind of nailed that too).

In 2025 I want to care less, write whatever I want, finally get that Armageddon AU out, and read ~even more~.

Anyway, here's what I did this year!

For the Love of Ducks - Wolfstar, started in 2023, finished in 2024.

Remus Lupin has always been sick, and he'd just like to feel normal for once. Sirius Black seems like the perfect man with a perfect, exciting life.

The Art of Getting Off - Jegulus

Regulus is a demisexual romance author who has one big hangup: Smut. After a mountain of bad reviews on his latest novel, an awkward meeting with his publisher, and a conversation with Remus, he decides to take the leap. Unfortunately the only person he really wants to sleep with is James Potter. Alternative title: "The art of fucking your brother's best friend six ways from Sunday without falling in love in the process."

It’s a flurry of limbs. James doesn’t waste a second pulling him inside - or maybe that’s for practicality sake. Speaking of Angels. I didn’t tell you. I’d just gotten off the FLT Courier that brought me here and the pilot was picking up their next passenger to take out to the Rift. He walked right by me and I swear the ‘coat’ he was wearing was really wings. I could see the feathers ripple. He had this sort of weird gold ring around his head like a halo and this–I dunno how to even describe it–it was like this rainbow spilling across his face. I tell ya, Sammy, it gave me the shivers, but not in a scary way, just really intense. The pilot called him Casti-El, which is an Angel name, so I guess he was the real deal. Remind me to ask Bobby if he still has that old book of Angel Lore in his library, or did he give that to you?

Ok I am reading linear GH instead of working and this anon is honestly unreal - I love that they put the parts too with the dates! I am just jotting a few things that really stuck out to me and showcase your fucking GENIUS. Reading them drunk slow dancing outside behind the club so soon after the proposal is truly heartbreaking and I shed a tear (or 10)

April 2027 (Part 12) - Dallas Surprise

ok seeing the gap between August 2025 and Azzi seeing Polivia when she goes to Dallas… I am kind of wondering if anything happened in the 1.5 year gap in-between… besides Olivia sinking her acrylics into Paige

I picture Tristan looking like Tyler from this past season of love is blind - good looking light skinned guy with a breeding fetish (not a parenting desire thought lol)

This is another gap that sticks out to me when put in context. Like they had sex and then nothing for 1.5 years when they briefly cross paths again. Obviously Azzi was busy with a toddler but without even Olivia to distract her I can imagine Paige just being so depressed wallowing in Dallas.

August 2032 (Part 13) - LAST TIME

Again seeing this in sequence stood out to me as they had sex SIX MONTHS before the story technically 'starts'… and of course have an argument/encounter that is pretty intense. I have to admit I thought it was a bit out of place how ANGRY they were in chapter one and how much they didn't want to encounter each other let alone be on the same team, especially given the fact that they had slept together a few times and had non-angry interactions. The balcony scene here really puts things in perspective. All they want is each other, but they are so damn stupid lol

February 2033 (Part 2) - Paige signs contract/ice cream date

Ok it is actually so funny that when we first got this chapter and Paige saying "“She was the most beautiful girl in the world,” “she still is.” seemed like a really bold move of Paige… in context they fucked 6 months ago its not bold at all

March 2033 (Part 5) - "It wasn't over, it still isn't over" notebook scene in Steph's office

Alright this is getting really long but I will echo what other people have said… they got together SO QUICKLY. Wild considering I remember when getting the weekly updates being so impatient for them to get together but they are making out/'taking it slow' like … 3 days after P moves to Oakland

Ahh I'm so glad you mentioned this because really I think a lot of how they behave only really starts to make sense after you've gotten all of the events and Linear anon putting the events in order makes it all make more sense. They're angry at each other because the argument is fresh and it's also easy for them to fall back into each other, because if we're being real, they already had relapsed a couple of time.

LMFAO yeah it took them literally a second which wasn't my original plan. I was gonna have a lot more back and forth but I also felt like they were in a place, where sort of going too fast just happened naturally and added to the conflict later on.

WASP REVIEW - WASPS AND HORNETS (EARTH DEFENSE FORCE)

Oh the classic scenario, giant bugs attacking the city! A concept as old as- Well, at least the 1950s, with the advent of 1954 film "Them!" and the many films in the Giant Bug Sci-Fi/Horror microgenre to come. These films clearly serving as the inspiration for several video games, including the subject matter of today's review, the Earth Defense Force franchise! Specifically today, I'll be having a look at the basic Wasp and Hornet enemies, although, with the multitude of different enemies and this series' apparent preference for ants, it's entirely possible that it could see a revisit in the future!

For now, though, let's dive straight into the look of these wasps! Starting with the Wasps, which appear in Insect Armageddon (2011). These ones resemble a fairly common genus of Wasps, which I'm sure most of us know well by now, Vespid genus Polistes, of the Paper Wasp subfamily, Polistinae, looking fairly accurate, although the presence of the second pair of wings is unclear. Body shape's about right, the legs are accurate, with the right count of them too, I'm not certain but I think they do have ocelli, the compound eyes look right. Of what specific species this wasp is based on, I'm not entirely certain, as it bears some resemblance to a multitude of different species within Polistes, but I'm as of yet unaware of one with its exact markings. Any other fellow wasp fans who have an idea to this Wasp's potential identity, if there is one, let me know!

Meanwhile, the Hornets are very clear when it comes to the exact species they're based on, Vespa mandarinia, the Asian Giant Hornet. The proportions are slightly off, but, generally, everything said above about the other Wasps' accuracy can be said of these truly giant Asian Giant Hornets! Apart from one major difference, the presence of both pairs of wings is very clear here! The only thing I can really say is that they look a bit metallic, and the wings are too grey, with the wings of the real thing being more of an amber color.

As for their behavior, the IA Wasps have the basic attacks you would expect out of a wasp, a sting and a bite, as well as possessing the ability to pin the player down and attack repeatedly, reminiscent of the hunting behavior of their real world equivalents. However, they also have the ability to fire off bursts of acid or similar chemicals, which is something that can be done by a multitude of insects, including the Paper Wasp's distant cousins, the Ants. But, notably, this is not something done by Paper Wasps! Paper Wasps also don't typically face off against still-living Mammals in the name of food, but rather, defense, either choosing to hunt other arthropods or taking pieces of already dead mammals, both of which go directly to their young. That being said, this could be an instance of both, the sheer size of the wasps potentially leading to them taking more of an interest in humans than before.

As for the Hornets, they seem to have a completely different method of attack, as they fire off metallic, stinger-like "Darts". Obviously, this is nowhere near accurate to the real thing, as, being eusocial Vespids as well, real Hornets would sting directly or perhaps bite, their stingers not being made of metal whatsoever. I have to wonder what they look like inside if they're storing dozens of massive metal stingers within their abdomen. That said, their behaviors extend past just attacking, as, when idle, they can be found cutely cleaning their faces! :D

Furthermore, they also display nesting behavior, as shown in one of the images above, although unlike a real nest, these nests appear to be completely exposed to the elements, as well as, as could possibly be inferred by the fact these bugs supposedly come from outer space of all places, floating in the air!

Interestingly, this seemingly paper structure is one of the most HP-dense things in the entire game, this, along with the floating, making me wonder what it's truly made of, if not the wood pulp of the real thing. Oddly, in some levels of certain games, they seemingly cohabitate with spiders as well, which is unusual.

Finally, also of note is that both of these enemy types have variations, with the Hornets having much larger queens, entitled "Death Queens", as well as having mutated red variants. They aren't very different, with the queens being boss-type enemies, and the mutants being more aggressive. Furthermore, queens are typically bigger than their soldiers/workers, but as you might imagine, these ones are taken to the extreme, and are absolutely gigantic.

As for the IA Wasps, they have one variant, that being... Biomechanical Wasp robots.

Yeah since these are robots there's not a lot for me to say, but they do look absolutely awesome! Just look at those blade-like legs!

Overall, these guys are visually pretty accurate, and their behaviors seem mostly all there! They seem to really care about making these bugs like the real thing. But they're not entirely correct, with unusual attacking abilities that are either found in different species or aren't found in any species whatsoever, on top of their alien nest floating in the air with seemingly no explanation. With that, my ranking is-

Good Omens Season 3 Fanfic Roundup - To Our World

Happy New Year fandom fam! It's been a while since I did a fanfic roundup, since life has been life-ing and reading has been suffering, but I recently did finish two longer fics and thought it was a good time to provide another update.

It seems that Hair-Watch 2025 is in full effect, with my dashboard full of speculations on when filming of season 3 will begin and whether or not we will see glimpses of red and white hair popping up soon. So, a Season 3 fic roundup felt apt.

A quick caveat on these works: I personally prefer stories that go beyond our favorite Demon and Angel. Stories that embrace the ensemble-ness of the original Good Omens book and place the fate of the world in the able hands of the humans, or part-humans.

So these stories tend to focus on that, on the human-ness of the characters involved, on the world that exists outside of just A and C and on the struggle of the sons of God and Satan to push against their fate and choose something beyond the ineffable plan. These are not stories where Crowley and Aziraphale solve everything on their own.

The Beginning of the End (Again) by @addledmongoose: This one was one of the first I read after completing my own post season 2 fic, and it was a breath of fresh air to see how differently we could work with the same ingredients to deliver a completely different story. Addled's prose are professional and clear, painting action and plot beautifully and vividly with every passage. The story follows Crowley and Aziraphale as they work separately (and eventually together) to influence the Messiah and convince him not to end the world. the mood is light, the characterizations are spot on and the plot plots. And Aziraphale being jealous of Jesus is a plot point I will never tire of.

A Place for the End of the World by @kitty-kat-undercover : This was a very different story from the others. Slower, beautifully written and OCs that really add heart and soul to the story: this one follows Crowley as he seeks to spend the end of the world with a friend in rural Canada while Aziraphale works in Heaven to avert the end. The beauty of mother earth and human connection is a major piece of this story, with the author taking the time and space to really paint a picture and a feeling around the characters we know and love.

And I Did by @di-42: a plot-driven and action-packed version of Season 3, where Crowley, as the Grand Duke of Hell, and Aziraphale, as Supreme Archangel, try to navigate the Second Coming while being on "opposite sides." Sometimes there are fictions that, rightfully so, skirt the issue of resolving the Second Coming plot. Plot is hard, plot is complicated, and landing an Armageddon story with the gravity it requires, is not easy. But this fic does not shy away from the tricky bits (with a few fan theories and a very clever head canon), and the author does a fantastic job of pulling it all together and delivering an emotional and satisfying resolution for all of humanity.

Part III: Not Single Spies (Of Nice and Ominous: a reluctant eschatology of the Second Attempt) by @e-rated-beardo: I have to caveat this one, as it is part of a series that I did not fully read. As I said above, life is lifing, and I could not commit to the full series right now, but can confidently say that the author's mastery of gorgeous prose definitely make the entire series worth reading. This story was another breath of fresh air, with the plot revolving around more than just Aziraphale and Crowley and allowing the readers to get to know the burden and the pain of the reborn messiah and his family. The characterizations are spot on, the plot runs at an exciting clip, and the time we spend with every single character helps build the end into a satisfying conclusion.

And mine, Time Marches Forward: more a post Season 1 Second Coming story than a post Season 2 (if S1 ended with the final 15). This story focuses on Aziraphale finding his inner strength while Crowley learns to lean on others, both through a very special bond with a 15-year-old, powerful Antichrist who's struggling to contend with the upcoming end of the world and the part he's meant to play.

There are so many more on AO3 (1,371 at the time of writing this, to be exact), and some really popular ones we've all heard about that are not listed here. So enjoy whatever flavor of Season 3 that suits you as we all eagerly await news about the canon version of these events to come later this year.

I want to share these, as they’ve been important for our recovery!

All of my parts come from trauma, but some more than others. We call all of our parts trauma-based.

I have two created parts, who use that as their label.

I have a dreamway part, which is a custom label we use to describe how he split.

Acknowledging these different origins has helped us recover and heal. We do not use -genic labels, as those just... don't fit well. Since they don't help us, we don't use them. Being referred to as "traumagenic" is upsetting.

are you big on tv? do you have any shows you keep up with?

Nooo... I'm not much of a TV person, I'm sorry. I like to have something to watch while working out, and if I get sick or sometimes if I can't sleep. I've actually really tried to find stuff to get into this year, if only to give me more fandom blocks to play with! But so far I keep looking for TV shows to watch and then getting bored and disappointed about them, honestly. I wish there was something grabbing my attention lately.

Generally I look for things that are romantic (as an artistic descriptor, I don't require that they specifically contain romantic relationships) and have fun surreal, gothic, fantasy or mild horror vibes.

Between the start of December 2024 and March 2025 I've had a look at...

I saw the first episode of the 3-episode Dracula TV series from 2020 (the one by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat) but its mix of "balls to the wall fully camp zombie undead" and "serious gothic horror aesthetic" was a juxtaposition that I felt confused the delivery and didn't really work for me. It had some cool body horror moments, though, and might work for someone else.

I watched season 4 of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime, which is part 5, "Vento Aureo" (season 4 is part 5 — thanks, everyone, good job, very helpful). It was a delightfully surreal little story. I would not recommend it to anyone who needs a series to make sense from scene to scene because it isn't very committed to that. But the themes and characters were so fun! I also love the character designs, they're very... alt fashion inspired? I guess? It was good. It was not without its own flaws, but, like, same. ┐⁠(⁠‘⁠～⁠`⁠;⁠)⁠┌

I saw the 2022 film "The Pale Blue Eye" starring Christian Bale. It's a period thriller about a retired detective teaming up with Edgar Allan Poe to solve some murders. It's based on a book. While it was fun, it did not have a very coherent plot, and some aspects I felt were vastly overexplained (perhaps in compensation), but the vibes were immaculate and the delivery was fun. I would recommend it for watching while crafting or something like that.

I watched the first 5 episodes of Trinity Blood. It's an early 00s shoujo series about a post-armageddon Earth featuring a fully armed Vatican and a bunch of space vampires. I enjoyed the concepts, but the delivery didn't suit me so I stopped watching it.

I watched the first 3½ episodes of Love Between Fairy and Devil, a 36-episode Chinese series based on a fantasy book. I described it to a friend as "The Dark Lord Sauron becomes magically fixated on a wide-eyed girl who acts like a toddler, is bad at everything, and doesn't believe he is the dark lord." And I was amused by the toddler girl / dark lord vibes for a few episodes but I got bored of it pretty fast. Maybe for the romantasy people who don't mind a slightly pathetic heroine?

I watched the entire 2023 Onmyouji series, which was only 13 episodes long. I quite liked this one and now I'm a Seimei/Hiromasa shipper. The animation in this isn't to the standard you might expect for a 2020s series and I feel like the execution isn't actually awesome, but the setting, the plots of individual episodes, and the characters were its strengths.

I'm 2½ episodes into The Tale of the Nine-Tailed, a 2020 South Korean fantasy drama. The premise is sort of convoluted, but it has held my interest because I find the female lead — a supernatural investigative journalist searching for clues as to her parents' murder/disappearance — interesting. It's got kind of a horror vibe in some places. So far fun, but I'm only 2½ episodes in, and I've ignored it for a week, oops.
