Writer and Beta sign-ups for the R/S big bang will be closing on April 19th. So there's still time! If you'd like to participate in this fest, use one of the forms below to sign up. Sign ups for artists will remain open until July 13th.

If you're not familiar, a Big Bang is a fest that endeavors to create collaboration between writers, betas, and artists. Authors write a 20k - 150k word fic that artists then create artwork for (note that to participate, authors must have at least one complete, published 20k fic).

snippet monday!

Remus lurches forward in his seat just as the second verse of ABBA’s S.O.S comes through the crackly truck speakers, twisting the knob until it’s a low drone. Teddy has been asleep in the back seat for hours, even with the music playing, and he and Remus have sat mostly in silence since their last gas run. Sirius expects something important to come out of his mouth. Maybe he’s seen something up ahead, or heard something funny off in the distance. What he says, in a low hiss, is: “I can’t believe you have ABBA on your end of the world playlist? I’m sorry, but if we’re going to –” he pauses, and glances in his visor mirror to see that Teddy is still asleep before he mouths ‘die’ – “I’m not going to go out listening to this garbage.”

✨ March Reading Wrap-Up ✨

Another month of graphs. Except I missed February, so maybe I'll make a February reading wrap up, lol. Anyway!

March was a bad month at work, so I only read 8 completed fics and 1 wip for a total of 207,072 words, 8 wolfstar and 1 wolfstarbucks (for some spice).

The Fics in Question

Rumspringa by @lifeisabitch-butimcute is the loveliest WIP, seriously it's like it was written for me. Amish Remus and southern Sirius, it's made me cry multiple times, 10/10 for inclusion of horses

The Inconveniences in our Favour by @magicbeings with artist Sirius and bookshop owner Remus who also just happens to be my favourite flavour of quippy

The Panini Incident by ravenclawesome42 a coffee shop au enemies to lovers that harnesses lovely canon marauders energy (read: pranks)

It Often Rhymes by bshiat friends to lovers with some very tender wolfstar moments that made me Feel things

Aisles by okayyhmm muggle au set in tesco's which felt just delightfully 'real life'

Why not Me? by mimifreed a lovely lovely friends to lovers wolfstar with such a satisfying ending, like i actually think it healed some of my wolfstar-induced trauma

Lateral Thinking by sadspatula had such wonderful cadence and pacing and really hit my slice of life craving

Of Earth and Electric Storms by @wolfpants I think I will forever be thinking about the line: "Because he wanted Sirius first. (He had wanted Sirius for a long time). // He wanted Remus first. (He had wanted Remus instantly)."

AND FINALLY

For Freedom, Beauty, Truth, and Love by @b1ackcatchatsback which I am actually still reading, and which made me laugh out loud multiple times, and which currently has me kicking my feet

generally you shouldn't write run-on sentences because they get confusing and it doesn't give the reader a break. that doesn't apply to me though my run-on sentences are fun and understandable and they have a rhythm to it that makes you want to keep reading

“It doesn’t matter what he said, Sirius.” Regulus snaps. He’s taken up residence at his usual pub table: Back right corner, clear view of the bar, tucked against the wall with an outlet and a candle and his computer spread out in front of him. The ambiance is being significantly disturbed by Sirius, hands on his hips and scowl venomous. 

“It does, actually James said he called you a —“

“James should have kept his fat mouth closed,” Regulus moans. He’d be angrier with him, except he can’t shake the image of James, soft and bleary eyed at his hotel door. Anyway, he’s not all that surprised that James let it slip to Sirius – even though he still isn’t wholly sure what it is, exactly.

HELLO!! Sorry i'm nervous, i'm a little bit (very much so) obsessed with the art of getting off and also with your writing. BUT (CRAZY THING AHEAD) i just realised when i was looking at your pinned post that i have literally read one of your fics before- The Little Blue House on Main Street!!! I left a comment a little bit less than three hundred days ago (according to ao3! Hopefully this is the same one!). I never realised that was you!!! That was one of the first fics i commented on!

ANYWAY. A question and not just me rambling about how much i love you--- which marauders era character (if any) would you say you kin? Usually, I find I can guess when I read a fic, but with you I'm clueless.

I absolutely love you and would be incredibly appreciative to know more of your mind, thank you!!

That's so crazy! I love stumbling across authors and realizing I've seen them before - or reading something and going to their Tumblr and realizing I'm already following them. It's such a small world.

Anyway, I think Remus, with a fair dose of Regulus. But I think at, at least when I write, I can see little bits and pieces of myself in all of them.
