T'Pring appreciation post, without you, we wouldn't have had Spirk rolling in the sacred sands. Thanks, you're a real one.
Also hommage to Arlene Martel her portrayal of T'Pring is incredible.
Cheers to Vulcan's most iconic divorcee, slaying the house boots down to marry her own sweetheart.

One Dress a Day Challenge
October: Silver Redux
Star Trek (s2 e1, "Amok Time") / Arlene Martel as T'Pring
One of the most iconic costumes from the original series. The skirt appears to be made of quilted material, and it has an interesting hemline, with a cutout in front and a sort of wing shape in back. She also wears shiny white tights and silver flat shoes (probably flats were chosen because of her tall hairstyle).
Contrast with another silver dress for T'Pring from Strange New Worlds.

Today in the Department of Before They Were Star Trek Stars, Leonard Nimoy guest stars in "The Hunted," episode 8 of the second season of The Rebel (original air date November 6, 1960).
Nimoy plays hero Johnny Yuma's friend Jim Colburn, who was falsely convicted of murder. He escapes from prison pursued by a lynch mob the day before the real killer comes forward and his conviction is overturned. Johnny manages to track him down before the mob does and bring him home, where he has to face charges for the smaller crimes he committed to survive on the run. The victims are sympathetic when they hear his story; he offers to make full restitution, and all the charges are dropped.

Other Trek connections: T'Pring! Arlene Martel, under her original name of Arline Sax, plays the wife of Jim's best friend. She convinces her husband not to shelter or help Jim during his escape. I guess Spock and T'Pring are just destined to clash with each other in every universe.

Clips in this edit from May 1997 (footage courtesy of sunnygirlfriend13), and from “Monstrous Monkee Mash” and “Card Carrying Red Shoes.”
“My first meeting on the set [of the episode 'Monstrous Monkee Mash'] was with Peter, who is a nice, easy-going and friendly guy. I noticed that whenever Peter had a little time to himself between takes he would pick up his guitar and play for his own enjoyment and relaxation. In the show [‘Monstrous Monkee Mash’], Dracula decides that Peter had the perfect brain for the Frankenstein Monster. One that would be easy to control — but I found Peter in complete control of his brain. My own impression was that Peter is a self-made young man who is enjoying his success. And I felt he dressed not to please others but to please his own individual tastes.” - Ron Masak, Teen Screen, November 1967

Love that everything in Star Trek TOS looks a little shit, except for the wigs, for which there was apparently an unlimited budget and all the time in the world. In the early episodes Nurse Chapel was rocking three or four different elaborately styled looks when she simply not on screen enough to justify that. Even the girls of the week would usually have their hair augmented with crazy hairpieces of some variety. Not to mention our series regulars-- Shatner famously stole many (very expensive) custom hairpieces from the set and I believe Nichelle Nichols also stole some wigs and pretended they went missing. This show had amazing wigs.
