Some Canadian Provinces headcanons: name edition

Anytime Matthew tries to say something about Alfred’s ability to name children, Alfred brings up that most of the provinces have at some point changed their names.

After the whole ‘renaming the North-West Territories to Bob’ thing, Rory (Yukon) and Henry (Nunavut) started calling her Bobby and Stella (NWT) been threatening to actually change her name to Bobby for years

Matt: But Stella-Maris is such a pretty name-

Stella: it’s a prissy name, is what it is-

The older territories keep encouraging her and Matt gets so annoyed but he hasn’t realized the reason they’re encouraging her is that he let Nora (Ontario) change her name without a fight because it was ‘too french’ but made Cecilia (Nova Scotia) keep her terrible middle name for seventy years

Cecilia has never forgiven Matt for her original middle name. Matt knows this.

Jonathan (New Brunswick) is trans and technically has two different deadnames. The first is the one that Matt gave him that he hated so much. He thought it was just because it was a terrible name and changed it and then that didn’t make him feel any better so he was like oh, I hated both of these because they’re feminine names, not just because Matt is terrible at names.

Going undercover can be complicated sometimes.

This here is New Brunswick and Sask going undercover for something, I don’t know what specifically. But they did change their appearances temporarily for this little assignment.

Happy early 151st birthday to my favourite Hetalia character and my beloved nation of Canada! I added Ontario, Québec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick because they were the first 4 Provinces in confederation after we officially became a nation in 1867! We’ve come so far as a country. We’ve had our share of controversy, conflict and disagreement but we’ve also had a ton of good and have done and created a ton of good for the world. But now more than ever we need to stick together with this impending trade war with the States. May the Gods bless us with another 151 years to come and many more after that. Oh Canada! Bonne 151ièm fête en avance à mon personnage d’Hetalia préféré et à mon pays natal bien-aimé de Canada! My grandmas from pei and she can't swim and apparently no one else in the Maritimes can either so I have a headcanon that none of the Maritimes can swim. Even if they practically live on a boat sometimes...

I’d feel sorry for the Maritimes, honestly. Being surrounded by the ocean, fishing and boating for leisure and/or for a living 24/7 and not being able to swim? Sucks to be you, b’ys.

The other provinces, if they know about it, find it hilarious, if maybe kind of sad. Even if they may not admit it.
