This arrangement was recorded and released on the Steroid Maximus album Ectopia. The album is available digitally at foetus.org or Bandcamp

The footage was shot and edited by Clement Tuffreau in 2003. It was enhanced by JG Thirlwell in 2025.

　引き続き世界教養全集を読む。第24巻の最後「たった一人の海 Seul à travers l’Atlantique, A la poursuite du soleil, Sur la route du retour」(アラン・ジェルボー Alain Gerbault 著・近藤等訳)を帰宅後の自宅で読み終わった。 　一書にまとめられているが、これは「たった一人の大西洋 Seul à travers l’Atlantique」「太陽を求めて A la poursuite du soleil」「故国への道 Sur la route du retour」という3書の合本(がっぽん)だ。この巻の半分ほどを占める大著である。 　子供の頃からこの巻は私の愛読書だったのだが、読んでいたのは「アムンゼン探険誌」 Continue reading Untitled

Robespierre jouait à lancer des branches à Brount avec Elisabeth, à quelques distances devant eux. Il courrait pour entraîner le molosse derrière lui, et jetait le bâton de toutes ses forces, ne se souciant pas de voir s'il risquait de tacher ses bas blancs de boue. Brount partait comme un fou avec ses grandes pattes désordonnées, la langue pendant sur le côté et la queue frétillante. Quand il revenait avec le morceau de bois, Elisabeth et Maximilien devaient s'escrimer à le lui récupérer et tiraient de toutes leurs forces pour le lui arracher de la gueule. Le jeu recommençait ensuite, pour la plus grande joie des trois participants.

Saint-Just marchait les bras croisés dans le dos, au rythme d'Eléonore.

-Eléonore, maintenant que nous sommes bons amis, puis-je me permettre une question?

La jeune fille lui sourit d'un air indulgent.

- Voyons la question.

Saint-Just se racla la gorge et fixa son regard sur la pointe de ses bottes.

- Eh bien... je ne comprends pas que tu ne sois pas amoureuse de lui.

Eléonore laissa échapper un petit rire. Elle ne paraissait pas particulièrement vexée ou embarrassée par cette question indiscrète.

-Et pourquoi cela ? demanda-t-elle.

Saint-Just redressa la tête et fit un geste de la main vague vers Brount qui s'était mis à aboyer joyeusement, et Elisabeth qui faisait semblant de jeter le bâton pour la troisième fois.

- Je ne sais pas, regarde le... Tout à l'heure il faisait un travail de géant pour la patrie, et maintenant il se contente d'une récompense si simple ! Jouer avec son chien, nourrir ses oiseaux, manger le potage de ta mère ce soir, lire quelques pages de Rousseau au coin du feu...

-... quelques oranges, une visite de son cher Saint-Just...

- Si nous parvenons à installer et à protéger notre république, il ne cherchera aucune récompense pour lui même. Il ne faudra pas davantage que ces quelques plaisirs que nous avons évoqués pour faire son bonheur. Quand on en vient à le connaitre, il est si doux, si sincère. Parfois, cela me noue le coeur quand j'y pense.

- Certainement, approuva Eléonore en venant prendre le bras d'Antoine, et c'est pour cela que mes parents le considèrent comme leur fils et moi comme mon frère. Le sang ne me le rendrait pas plus cher.

- Un frère, oui...Mais imagine le comme époux, ne serait-ce pas mieux encore ? La voix de Saint-Just s'était réduite à un murmure rêveur. Il est si loyal, si dévoué. Non vraiment, tu ne trouveras pas mieux que lui.

-Pour ce qui est du physique... commença Eléonore

- Du physique ! répéta-t-il, le cri qu'il ne réussit par à réprimer attirant un instant l'attention de Brount vers lui. Comment peux tu parler du physique face à une telle âme ! Et puis de toute façon la physionomie de Maximilien n'a rien de désagréable, regarde, il est petit certes, mais il a les mollets bien fait, une mine intelligente, des yeux verts, un joli nez...

- Tu ne trouves pas qu'il a un style un peu démodé?

- Maximilien s'en fiche des fariboles de la mode! Il prends soin de ses vêtement et il est toujours bien mis. On ne peut pas en dire autant des trois quarts des députés qui siègent à la Convention avec les cheveux gras et les bottes crottées. Son style est très respectable.

Eléonore se mit à rire de bon coeur devant l'air révolté de Saint-Just.

-Antoine... Si moi je ne suis pas amoureuse de lui, rien ne t'empêche de l'être, toi.

Une délicieuse persistance en bouche se termine par une finale délectable de pruneaux et de délicates notes de chocolat.

Au flanc du tertre de Fronsac, au-dessus de la vallée de l’Isle et entouré de 20 hectares de vignes en coteaux, ce château fortifié à la fin du 14e siècle prend son aspect actuel au cours de la Renaissance deux siècles plus tard. Célébré par Ronsard, il a vu défiler les esprits les plus brillants : Montaigne, La Boétie, Rousseau, et de nombreux autres… Il y a 120 ans, le Sénateur Guillaume Chastenet de Castaing entre en scène. Il est suivi par son fils Jacques, illustre historien de l’Académie Française, et par son petit-fils Antoine. Depuis 1983, l’aventure vigneronne familiale se poursuit par la qua-trième génération, celle de Constance et de son époux Stéphane Droulers. Dans une même quête de qualité sans concession, respectant au plus proche la nature, et entourés des conseils avisés d’Hubert de Bouärd, les deux époux produisent, sur le domaine de ce noble château chargé d’histoire, des vins modernes, équilibrés et respectueux de la magie du grand terroir historique de Fronsac.

On the side of the mound of Fronsac, above the Isle valley and surrounded by 20 hectares of hillside vineyards, this castle, fortified at the end of the 14th century, took on its current appearance during the Renaissance two centuries later. Celebrated by Ronsard, it has seen the most brilliant minds parade: Montaigne, La Boétie, Rousseau, and many others... 120 years ago, Senator Guillaume Chastenet de Castaing entered the scene. He is followed by his son Jacques, an illustrious historian of the French Academy, and by his grandson Antoine. Since 1983, the family winemaking adventure has continued with the fourth generation, that of Constance and her husband Stéphane Droulers. In the same uncompromising quest for quality, respecting nature as closely as possible, and surrounded by the wise advice of Hubert de Bouärd, the two spouses produce, on the estate of this noble castle steeped in history, modern, balanced and respectful of the magic of the great historic terroir of Fronsac.

Our ambition is to devote all the necessary means to ensure that the Carles estate and its wines regain and perpetuate the glory and reputation that they enjoyed at the turn of the 19th century when the wines of Fronsac, Carles in the lead, were better rated than those de Pomerol and were on a par with the most illustrious of the Saint-Emilion crus. Degustando questo vino veniamo avvolti da tannini di vellutata morbidezza e squisita rotondità. Le papille gustative sono travolte da un'esplosione di frutti neri (ribes nero, mora, mirtillo), tocchi di pepe nero e liquirizia. La legnosità è perfettamente equilibrata, senza eccessi. Una deliziosa persistenza al palato si conclude con un delizioso finale di prugne secche e delicate note di cioccolato.

Un sublime Fronsac, orgoglioso vessillo della tenuta, ha incantato le mie papille gustative così come quelle dei miei ospiti. Un vino di notevole eleganza che saprà soddisfarvi, adesso o tra qualche anno, senza la minima esitazione. La pazienza sarà sicuramente ricompensata. Un vino eccezionale che può facilmente competere con i più grandi Bordeaux.

Sul lato del tumulo di Fronsac, sopra la valle dell'isola e circondato da 20 ettari di vigneti collinari, questo castello, fortificato alla fine del XIV secolo, ha assunto l'aspetto attuale durante il Rinascimento due secoli dopo. Celebrato da Ronsard, ha visto sfilare le menti più brillanti: Montaigne, La Boétie, Rousseau e molti altri... 120 anni fa, entrò in scena il senatore Guillaume Chastenet de Castaing. È seguito dal figlio Jacques, illustre storico dell'Accademia di Francia, e dal nipote Antoine. Dal 1983 l'avventura vitivinicola di famiglia prosegue con la quarta generazione, quella di Constance e del marito Stéphane Droulers. Nella stessa ricerca intransigente della qualità, nel rispetto della natura il più possibile, e circondati dai saggi consigli di Hubert de Bouärd, i due coniugi producono, nella tenuta di questo nobile castello ricco di storia, moderno, equilibrato e rispettoso della magia del grande terroir storico di Fronsac.

La nostra ambizione è quella di dedicare tutti i mezzi necessari per garantire che la tenuta di Carles e i suoi vini riguadagnino e perpetuino la gloria e la reputazione di cui godevano all'inizio del XIX secolo, quando i vini di Fronsac, Carles in testa, erano valutati meglio di quelli de Pomerol ed erano alla pari dei più illustri cru di Saint-Emilion. Il nostro desiderio è trasmettere alle nostre due figlie, Eléonore e Oriane, le stesse passioni e la stessa ricerca di standard elevati in modo che possano a loro volta trasmetterli alle generazioni future.

Okay so I'll answer the question backwards. Because the OC who does punch and actually does so in the story (once for now, but probably more) is Diane. Smol feral woman, people should stop underestimating her imo. Especially since she used to do boxing when she was younger.

She punched a background character who had a couple too many bad words about her man (whose reaction was... Not what she'd have expected 🤣). It's actually a one shot I wrote YEARS AGO, so my writing and my English have evolved since, but it's still here if you're interested 😅

On the other hand I think I have 2 or 3 OCs who deserve being punched. Laurence because she needs to stop being so overprotective and dumb with her brother, but like, it's out of love, alright, but STILL. And the cops. Blanchard deserves a punch because... Because he's Blanchard, dumb and crass, and Rousseau deserves a punch because he's a fawning bastard who doesn't take no for an answer and thinks he knows everything better than others (he does! He does but that doesn't give him the right. He's insufferable.)

Oh and Antoine but if the bad guy doesn't deserve a punch then is he really a bad guy? Yeah cause the others are either neutral or good guys. Lol. Doesn't stop them from deserving a good kick.

Honorary mention to Desden who doesn't deserve it and can't really defend himself yet is the one who DOES get punched the most for now. Oops. Sorry dude. Being the most powerful ghost magnet in your family line surely must have good sides? No? Too bad.

This building is classé au titre des monuments historiques de la France. It is indexed in the base Mérimée, a database of architectural heritage maintained by the French Ministry of Culture

The Panthéon is a monument in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, France. It stands in the Latin Quarter, atop the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, in the centre of the Place du Panthéon, which was named after it.

The edifice was built between 1758 and 1790, from designs by Jacques-Germain Soufflot, at the behest of King Louis XV of France; the king intended it as a church dedicated to Saint Genevieve, Paris's patron saint, whose relics were to be housed in the church. Neither Soufflot nor Louis XV lived to see the church completed.

By the time the construction was finished, the French Revolution had started; the National Constituent Assembly voted in 1791 to transform the Church of Saint Genevieve into a mausoleum for the remains of distinguished French citizens, modelled on the Pantheon in Rome which had been used in this way since the 17th century

Louis Napoléon, nephew of the Emperor, was elected President of France in December 1848, and in 1852 staged a coup-d'état and made himself Emperor. Once again the Pantheon was returned to the church, with the title of "National Basilica". The remaining relics of Saint Genevieve were restored to the church, and two groups of sculpture commemorating events in the life of the Saint were added. The crypt remained closed.....In 1881, a decree was passed to transform the Church of Saint Genevieve into a mausoleum again. Victor Hugo was the first to be placed in the crypt afterwards.

In January 2007, President Jacques Chirac unveiled a plaque in the Panthéon to more than 2,600 people recognised as Righteous Among the Nations by the Yad Vashem memorial in Israel for saving the lives of Jews who would otherwise have been deported to concentration camps. The tribute in the Panthéon underlines the fact that around three-quarters of the country's Jewish population survived the war, often thanks to ordinary people who provided help at the risk of their own life.
