I was watching this set of shorts from Telecat called Du Ketchup pour le Vampire. (Ketchup for the Vampire.) It has the Telecat cast engage in comedy-horror scenarios. I drew this sketch of Telly as he appears in the shorts during my break yesterday since I thought he looked good in it.
I don't get to draw things like this as much as I used to. I normally do it now just to practice with art. Sometimes I feel like I pour too much time into making small sketches like this look presentable...

✨Orchid Stingwing Kill Team Update✨
I got myself to do the thing! Well, another step of the thing. After a brief break to let my finger heal from a rather frightening hobby-knife accident, and then a nice little dip into a short depressive episode, I have emerged from my battle with the Furies in the Mirror victorious and actually made some progress! (This is a pretty big deal for me - my therapist is gonna be so pleased😊 Who abandons her hobbies when they get tough now, huh MOM?) Anyway, step-by-step details and pics below the cut. 💜
First off, a slight change to the base coat. I actually want the thorax a little greener to go with some of our later details, so I'll mix two (2) parts Ionrach Skin, one (1) part Wraithbone, and one (1) part White Scar to nudge the hue ever-so-slightly. I don't know how well you can make it out in the photos, but it's noticeable on the workbench. (Left: Wraithbone spray - Right: 2:1:1 Ionrach/Wraithbone/White Scar)
Next, the star of the show: the magenta carapace. Remember that we were aiming to have it fade from the ends of the limbs towards the thorax, so I'll thin one (1) part Doomfire Magenta with three (3) parts Contrast Medium to hopefully keep it under control.
That did not go how I hoped. Let's see if I can clean some of that up.
There we go. I used too little paint at first and got a drybrush effect, but actually I think it came out really well. Still heavier on the magenta than I want for this model, but I'll just call this one the senior Warrior. (This is precisely why we didn't jump straight to our specialists 😅) Tobi reminds you that it's important to take breaks.
Now then, some details. If we refer back to my inspiration post, we've got some green details at the edges of the lighter parts of the exoskeleton. This is where our adjusted base coat comes in, and my first attempt at glazing. For this, I'll mix together one (1) part Moot Green and four (4) parts Lahmian Medium to get it to almost the translucency of jelly, then highlight the ridges on the back with three or four layers, staying closer to the center with each layer to fade into our base coat at the ends. Trust me, this detail is really gonna pay off on our specialists.
Next, antennas... antennae? Whichever. I am most proud of this bit; it came out really well even though by the end I was just winging it. 😄 I started with a mix of one (1) part Wazdakka Red and three (3) parts Lahmian Medium. Unsatisfied with the Wazdakka next to the Doomfire, I added just a touch of Barak-Nar Burgandy and went over the antenn... wiggly-head-parts again. It needed just a bit more burgandy - but then I realized I was onto something. I did three more layers, closer to the ends each time, each with a bit more burgandy. Truly an inspired moment I will never be able to intentionally replicate. 😅
Okay, I'mma just add a little edge highlighting to the chest to give it a bit more definition (using our 2:1:1 Ionrach/Wraithbone/White Scar mix)...
That's better. And how about some Druchii Violet shade to add definition to the feet and the underside of the abdomen...
Very nice. And now to round things out, Black Templar for all the stabby bits.
And that is enough for today. About three or four hours of work, but a non-insignificant amount of that time was spent just convincing myself to do just a little bit more. That's a pretty good day for me. I'll revisit this model tomorrow and see if I'm still happy with it; if so, next step is to replicate it on the other three Warriors.

An Incredible Discovery!
While looking through old TV shows that I used to watch, Telecat (or Téléchat) came to mind.
I searched online for episodes when I discovered one that was fully dubbed in ENGLISH.
youtube
For years, all I had to go on was the original French dub. But now I know that the show was lucky enough to get an English release!
Sadly, this was the only English episode I could find. I searched all over the internet, only to come up empty-handed.
I don't believe the English dub of Téléchat is lost media. But considering the small number of episodes I found that were dubbed in other languages like Spanish and German, it just might be.
I'm pretty sure Telecat wasn't as big a success in Britian as it was in France. But there HAD to be some people out there who were fortunate enough to record these episodes.
If you or anyone you know happens to have a copy of an English episode of Telecat, don't hesitate to share them and tell me about it! The world needs more of Groucha's (Telly's) wonderful English voice this incredibly obscure show!

NIGHTWISH's TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN Names His Favorite Rock/Metal Song Of All Time
In a new interview with Germany's Rock Antenne, NIGHTWISH keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen was asked to name his favorite rock or metal song. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "'One' by METALLICA. [It's] such a brilliant composition and lyric and music video. And that was around the time that I found metal music altogether, so it brings back a lot of memories.
"I went to see METALLICA and GUNS N' ROSES in Kansas City in September 1992, and 'One' was the last song they played before the encores. [It] completely blew my mind," he explained.
"I don't think we [NIGHTWISH] would be where we are at the moment without that band [METALLICA]. And about a year ago, we were playing a festival in — I think it was in Belgium. And after the last song, I walked off the stage and there was [METALLICA frontman] James Hetfield giving me a pat on the back. And all I could say was like, 'Holy fuck.' Never meet your heroes, they say."
Back in 2020, Holopainen named METALLICA's self-titled 1991 album as one of the LP's that changed his life. He told Metal Hammer magazine: "It was the first metal album I bought. I was kind of a late bloomer finding metal. I was 15, living as an exchange student in Kansas for a year. I saw METALLICA and GUNS N' ROSES there and that was the turning point. I wasn't keen on going to that show because I had a lot of prejudice towards those bands, but that one night pretty much changed my view on music. I became an instant METALLICA — and metal — fan."
NIGHTWISH's new album, "Yesterwynde", is due on September 20, 2024 via Nuclear Blast. It marks the band's tenth studio LP, following on from the release of "Human. :II: Nature." in 2020.
"Human. :II: Nature." was released in April 2020. The follow-up to 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" was a double album containing nine tracks on the main CD and one long track, divided into eight chapters, on CD 2.
In August 2022, NIGHTWISH announced the addition of Jukka Koskinen (WINTERSUN) as an official member of the band. Koskinen, who made his live debut with NIGHTWISH in May 2021 at the band's two interactive experiences, had spent the previous year touring with NIGHTWISH as a session musician.
In November 2022, NIGHTWISH singer Floor Jansen revealed that she was "cancer free" after undergoing surgery to have a tumor removed following a breast cancer diagnosis.

Bug of the Day
This is a really neat insect known as a Xyelid sawfly (Macroxyela sp. I believe). I think it is cool for two reasons: 1) really weird antennae that are tipped with a thin strand of beads (the technical term for this antennal type is moniliform) and 2) it has a copy of its head on its thorax.

Dropping random facts because teehee
1. Theyre partly inspired by Daisuke from mouthwashing
2. They were an intern on their spaceship, they often got made fun off back on their home planet because they didnt know what they wanted to do with their life
3. Not all of the crew died during the crash. some were still alive, but it would have been inhumane to keep them alive in such a mangled state. Milo still has nightmares about what they had to do.
4. Milo’s Antenne are more bug and insect like
5. The colors of milo’s species varies greatly across the color spectrum. The one’s with their species’ version of vitiligo are seen as the most beautiful due to all the colors
6. Milo has a younger brother and a pet that looks like a hammerhead shark with legs named “scruffs”
7. Some of the words in milo’s language from their home involve certain clicks and whistles
8. They have a short layer of fur
9. Theyre wearing a device that cloaks their true appearance, in reality theyre much taller (though still short for their species), lanky, and look as tho theyre standing on hind legs like an animal. They also have claws
10. They know how to use a telescope to a professional level, if they know what theyre looking for they can easily use the stars as a map and find it in seconds
11. They arent sure if they even wanna go home, if thats even possible
12. They knows how to play the drums, often jokes that at some point all cultures come up with a thing to bang on. They fill in for sam’s band when abby isnt available
