We are who we are in the now, the self of the past is nonexistent.

True Growth Begins Where Comfort Fades: A Deep Exploration of Mind, Body, and Soul
Growth is not a passive occurrence. Photo by David Alberto Carmona Coto on Pexels.com It does not happen while we sit in familiarity, repeating the same thoughts, actions, and experiences. It is forged in discomfort, in stepping beyond the known and embracing the uncertain. To truly evolve as holistic beings, we must be willing to challenge the mind, strengthen the body, and awaken the soul…

clearing results from the past
Excerpts from Kamma and the end of Kamma by Ajahn Sucitto Unless we cultivate letting go, unless we can stop accepting heart-patterns as unbiased truth and ‘my self’, the issues of the past will be the basis for further kamma. The difficulty is that letting go requires the presence of an awareness that can receive these impressions, their tracks and residues. This takes a lot of grounded…

Liberation Here and Now, by Ayya Khema
Buddhist meditation: 'Liberation Here and Now', by Ayya Khema http://wp.me/pFy3u-1ot
When we hear or read the word ‘liberation’ (nibbana), we often get the idea that it is unattainable, otherworldly, reachable only by spiritual giants, and that it has very little to do with us. We do not have to look at it that way. Let us consider the three kinds of liberation—’signless’, ‘wishless’, and ‘voidness’ liberation. Signless liberation is attained by completely penetrating…

Buddhism: It’s a Process…
I am not the same person as yesterday, and I will be a different person tomorrow. I am not DNA code. I am skandhas, anatta, annicca, that is: I am a ‘heap’ of causes and conditions, nothing permanent, always changing. So don’t get too attached to yourself or to anyone else, because tomorrow offers no guarantees. Oh, and one more thing: there’s no soul, at least nothing like what the Christians or…

The Truth of the Breath
Everything that is true about anything is true about breath: it's impermanent; it arises and it passes away. Yet if you didn't breathe, you would become uncomfortable; so then you would take in a big inhalation and feel comfortable again. But if you hold onto the breath, it's no longer comfortable, so you have to breathe out again. All the time shifting, shifting. Uncomfortableness is continually arising. We see that everything keeps changing.

As time goes by
So grateful to be alive. Danke für dieses Leben, all die Schönheit und Wunder. Danke für all die Liebe, und auch den Schmerz der mich mein Herz fühlen lässt, wissend wie sehr ich die Welt liebe.
Just know, it won't last forever. Nothing lasts forever. ANICCA

“Every evening, an hour before the sun goes down, I walk toward its light, wanting to be altered. Always in quiet, the air still. Walking up the straight empty road and then back. When the sun is gone, the light continues high up in the sky for a while. When I return, the moon is there. Like a changing of the guard. I don't expect the light to save me, but I do believe in the ritual. I believe I am being born a second time in this very plain way.” - The Light Continues by Linda Gregg #bangalorediaries #home #belonging #lightseeker #reflection #healing #silentstories #hope #anicca #moon #nightscape #lindagregg (at Bangalore, India) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cqa1tZmSUHM/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Impermanence of Thoughts No matter how many times we’ve thought that thought in the past, the very fact that we can shift to another thought reminds us it’s not permanent. — Shaila Catherine, “Beyond Distraction: Your Virtues Are Stronger Than Your Defilements” #Anicca #Anitya (at New Haven Zen Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp7eeF4OvXh/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

meditation: embodying the mind
Continued excerpts from, “Kamma and the end of Kamma,” by Ajahn Sucitto Sit in an upright posture, and bring awareness to the present-moment experience of the body. Ask yourself, ‘How do I know I have a body?’ In other words, seek the direct experience of embodiment – the pressures, energies, pulses and vitality that signify awareness of the body. Then from that place of direct sensitivity, look…
