On the way back from Tea Country with Chakra-poisoned Kakashi tryna "casually" fish for some info before Sakura comes in with the one-hit KO on accident.
So she's got some complicated feelings for Kakashi as well, though they're a lot milder than what she feels about Sasuke.
There's a moment in my AU where Sakura goes through a deep reflection ritual, in which she has to face Inner Sakura -who is representative of all the ugly truths her day-to-day self hasn't been able to face- and come to terms with who she is.
During that time, she's got to face the music.
The music:
Sasuke is the last prodigal son of a clan that was brutally butchered. He's a genius with one of the most powerful dojutsu out there (that he has no idea how to use) and is coming in hot with more baggage than an airport terminal.
Naruto is not normal. She doesn't know what he is (as in-canon, she finds out after the time-skip and the Sakura from above is right on the cusp of Shippuden), but there's nothing normal about a kid who can pull wild orange chakra and who can fight Gaara's tailed beast and come out on top. He's got the personal attention of the Hokage, but the entire village has banded against him for some reason. He's special.
Kakashi is a war veteran turned Jounin and an infamous ANBU captain (I headcanon that some ANBU names are leaked specifically to generate a healthy level of fear/caution among other villages- which is why we know of Itachi/Kakashi/Shisui very publically) and is ALSO the last prodigal son of an old noble clan.
(No way a bookworm like Sakura didn't consume every publically available scroll on Konoha clans).
It doesn't take the big brains to figure out that he got team 7 specifically to help deal with Sasuke's trauma/teach him about the Sharingan, and put a leash on Naruto (and in the future, when she finds out that Madara was able to control the Kyuubi with the Sharingan as well as the knowledge that Kakashi was Minato's student it becomes even clearer why he got the Sasuke/Naruto combo.)
And Sakura? Sakura is a civilian. No clan, no dojutsu, nothing to her name except great chakra control. She's the literal meat in the meat-grinder of the military machine of Konoha, the acceptable sacrifice in a group of otherwise invaluable shinobi. She's just a...girl. (And it doesn't help that she was obsessed with Sasuke instead of training, furthering the gulf between her and Kakashi.)
Kakashi was absolutely not built to handle her- in fact, Kakashi has NO idea how to relate who hasn't gone through a mountain's worth of trauma or someone who hasn't been ingrained in the shinobi-as-a-tool lifestyle, and even then, he's not fully equipped to handle people who have (lmao Sasuke). Not to mention the man is a prodigy- he has no idea how to teach people who have to work hard to get somewhere in life. How do you teach someone if you've never had to 'work hard' to get there yourself?
So, Sakura understands that Kakashi was put in one of the most ridiculous situations of his career- a situation he had NO idea how to handle. She can forgive him for that. BUT, she can't forgive him for not trying his best.
Sakura spent a lot of time coming to terms with the fact that she rushed into the Chidori/Rasengan combo without a single idea of what she would do, but...Kakashi was a big reason for that.
She was HIS responsibility, and he fumbled that bag. Whatever his reasoning, whether it was to 'protect' her, or whether he thought she was worthless, whatever: he should have TRIED.
Kakashi was an adult with resources aplenty. He recognized that she had stellar chakra control but never bothered to teach her genjutsu or direct her to teachers who could pick up the slack.
And after the accident, he abandoned her again. Being forgotten in lieu of Sasuke and Naruto hurt...but she could heal. Being abandoned as some kind of martyr to Kakashi's failures as a teacher? It's gonna take a while for Kakashi to make that up to her...if he can muster the courage to face her.
Sakura finally understands why he preferred the memorial stone to the living. He already failed the dead, and it's easier to wallow in self-flagellation than it is to try and step up for the living.
Sakura stopped being a coward some time ago, and when Kakashi finally does the same, she'll forgive him.
Thank you so much for sticking with this wall of text! And thank you so much anon for the question! Once again, I really appreciate all the kind words people have been throwing my way. <3 <3 <3

TVD next generation: Bonkai version
Abigail "Abby" Lucille Parker Bennett
Faceclaim: Zendaya Coleman
Tumblr media
Abigail is the firstborn daughter of Malachai Parker and Bonnie Bennett
She is next in line to become leader of the Gemini coven (Kai is the current leader)
She takes after both her parents in appearance, but she is more like her mother in personality
Bonnie did not leave Kai in the prison world for the heretics, but they still found a way out. During that time, Kai was under strict surveillance by his coven and his sister Jo
Jo still died (by the heretics this time), Kai became the new leader of the Gemini coven with Bonnie at his side (she is the true mastermind)
Like her dad, she is a Siphoner witch.....and she also inherited his dark humor
Her dad helps train her and the Saltzman twins to control their abilities (and not siphon the life out of a person)
Abby's mom is currently pregnant with twins
Kai, Bonnie, Caroline, and Alaric are searching for a way to stop the merging process
Abigail is incredibly smart and sneaky.
She knows how to manipulate her way out of the situation
Loves her family very much
Teases the twins out of love
Abby loves to test the limits of magic due to her curiosity

Tumblr media
Sheila is the second daughter of Bonnie Bennett and Kai Parker
She is younger than her older sister Abby by 2 years, 3 months, and 16 days (she keeps count for some reason)
She takes after her mother in looks, but she is more like her father in personality entirely
Unlike her father, she is a witch like her mother
Sheila often lets Abby siphon her
Will not hesitate to use her magic on someone who threatens her family
She is terrified for her cousins and for her unborn siblings due to the merge
She and Abby try to look for information at the Salvatore boarding school
Abby and her dad call her Shey Shey for short
Abby and Sheila have secret contact with their mom's side of the family
Sheila and her family try their absolute best not to get too involved in vampire drama (it's not going well)
Sheila is best friends with Rosabella
Bonnie sees a lot of her grandmother in her daughter Sheila (not just because of her name)
Damon calls her a "mini Bonnie"
Sheila and Abby explore the mysteries of magic together and even have their own grimoir
Both her and Abby tease their dad on how whipped he is about their mom
Kai loves his family very much and worships not just Bonnie but his two daughters as well and is a hard core feminist with his girls

Racial covenants can be found in the property records of every American community. These restrictive clauses were inserted into property deeds to prevent people who were not White from buying or occupying land.
Racial covenants served as legally-enforceable contracts. They stipulated that the property had to remain in the hands of White people and they ran with the land, which meant that it could be enforced in perpetuity. Anyone who dared to challenge this ban risked forfeiting their claim to the property.
A survey of the 30,000 covenants unearthed in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties illuminates the wide variety of people targeted. An early Minneapolis restriction proclaimed that the "premises shall not at any time be conveyed, mortgaged or leased to any person or persons of Chinese, Japanese, Moorish, Turkish, Negro, Mongolian or African blood or descent." Before 1919, Jews were often included in this laundry list of “objectionable” people.
This language shifted with time. This eugenics-inspired list gave way to simpler declarations that the property could only be “be occupied exclusively by person or persons. . .of the Caucasian Race.” While many different kinds of people were targeted by racial covenants, every restriction identified by Mapping Prejudice bars Black people, as they were perceived by White Minnesotans to be particularly likely to decrease property values.

Real estate developers used racial covenants to sell houses, promising home buyers that covenants would protect their investment.
These same developers worked with park commissioners to make land adjacent to racially-restricted neighborhoods into public green space. These parks, they argued, would enhance the value of the property in these new neighborhoods. These rising values would also benefit municipal governments by swelling local tax coffers.
White homeowners also profited from racial covenants. A team of University of Minnesota researchers has demonstrated that Minneapolis houses that had covenants are worth 14 percent more than identical houses that never had covenants. This “bonus” value persists today, more than 50 years after the Fair Housing Act made these racial restrictions illegal.
The families who owned houses with covenants were able to pass that value on to the next generation. This intergenerational transfer of assets continues to drive the racial wealth gap in the United States today.

I'm thinking of a post I made about the Wizards during arc 1.
About how I can see very easily why people would turn to Wizardry in a world with Spirits, especially Spirits like Orima and Naram for whom even pinpoint accuracy of motion can mean the collateral deaths of tens to hundreds.
And now I'm thinking about how at least for the last...202 years Grandma Wren was the only Witch of the Coven of Elders whose domain had to do with people. Not just wizards but people in general.
I think Ame and Wren are the first Witches we meet and so they determined my idea of who Witches are. And so far it's like no! Wren was like that, and she raised Ame like that, but I can't imagine any of these other Witches stepping in for the people of Port Talon the way Ame did. I can't imagine them petitioning a Great Spirit on behalf of fishermen or leading a community in song.
While I'm sure the Coven of Elders specifically are not representative of all Witches, in the same way not all Wizards are Citadel Wizards, it's just very funny to realize how much of what I attributed to Witches in general is so far actually just the Witches of the World's Heart.

I find it interesting actually that Mason is the only Coven Head present at the convention episode in season 1 (I assume he is already a Coven Head because he is on the banner in a later episode).
He seems quite stoic and unbothered by being tossed around too. So this might point towards some characterization - maybe he actually cares enough to show up unlike the others, and he isn't a type to throw a fit over a member of the public bothering him and thus might be less drunk on the power.
[my personal headcanon is that he cares about the members of his coven and has teaching tendencies, but isn't very sharp when it comes to the politics, and he had never expected to get raised that high, so he doesn't question the decisions around him and finds his new role disorienting]
