howard goodman is the funniest hatchetfield character to me. he's president of the united states. he doesn't know what a physicist is. he's a status quo democrat. the whole time he's in the black and white he's basically shaking and crying. he only exists as a character to start wwiii. he's a wet cat of a man. he has a cut song called 'everything is my dad.' we haven't even heard about him since black friday and probably never will again.

Curt Mega and His Inability To Keep The People He Cares About From Dying ™

From what I can remember, the Lords in Black never refer to anyone by their preferred name. Howard Goodman is "Mr. Prezzy-Wez," Ted is "Teddy Bear," Grace is "Gracie," Steph is either "Stephanie" or "Steffie," and Max is either "Maxwell" or "Maxy."

They usually go for childish nicknames (treating humans as children, not worthy of adult respect), but Max and Steph get their disused full names instead. I wonder if it has something to do with both of them having negative relationships with their parents, so it's more demeaning to get that "you're in trouble now young lady" tone that comes with full names. This lines up with Grace being called Gracie, since we hear her parents use that nickname for her.

The other exception is Pete, who's just called "a Spankoffski," which fits with Pete's attempts to control his image to avoid being mocked. I bet he gets judged for being Ted's younger brother all the time, and he probably hates it. Despite all his efforts, he's not seen as his own person; he's just Ted Spankoffski's loser brother.

The cutesy nicknames also remind me of Grace in "Bully the Bully" and "Bury the Bully," when she uses nicknames on her friends. "Steffie", "Ruthie," "Richie," and "Petey." Much like the Lords in Black, I think she uses childishness to disguise the terrible things she's capable of (though in Grace's case it's more subconscious and she's fooling herself more than anyone else).

Anyways I don't have a point here, I just overthink these things.
