hey so sorry if this is like super weird but i noticed the tags on your reblog of the pit babe poll and just wanted to add that like the omegaverse is honestly kinda lowkey? like so far in season 1 they've only really acknowledged the existence of alphas, which they don't go into too much detail about other than them having certain pheromones and special powers, and the mpreg stuff doesn't come up till later in the show which also doesn't get too explicitly discussed either. so like if you're not a big fan of omegaverse stuff, a lot of the show isn't really about that. there's more about racing than omegaverse overall.

Hello! I'm glad you're watching The Bear, yeah I think the show was made to stress people out lol! I would say even if you think it wouldn't be your thing, even just give a short clip from Taskmaster a chance its worth it, but thats the lasts ill push that. Other fiction shows is still a super broad category but let me think.

It's really popular right now, so you've possibly already seen it, or at least heard about it, but I'm lowkey obsessed with it at the moment so I have to mention it and that's Bridgerton. If you're unfamiliar its a romance/drama show in a stylized regency era. I really love it, but I would say skip season 1 and go right to season 2, its the better season. Like I will warn some people act like its regency porn, which its not, but there are some sex scenes that are a little more graphic then a lot of shows show, so just so you know if thats not your thing, but they're easy to fast forward through.

Lowkey inspired by the last suggestion, is Derry Girls, their is an actress in both this and Bridgerton that I'm a big fan of, so I've been rewatching this of recent. Its a comedy about a group of high school girls in Derry, Ireland in the 90s, and their teen mischief while in the background is the troubles going on in the country. And its a really funny show, great characters, and if your like me you will be trying to copy their accents cuz they're amazing.

School Spirits, it's a teen drama/mystery about a girl who becomes a ghost, and she's trying to discover how this happened to her, with the help of other ghosts shes meets and a living friend of hers who can somehow see her. I got really hooked on this show when I first saw it, and I need it's second season asap. I will say there is potentially triggering content so I'd recommend looking into that first if thats a concern.

Extraordinary, omg I don't know why I didn't think of this one sooner or for the first list, but it's another show I was hooked on when I first saw it. It's a comedy, where everyone has a super power except for our protagonist, and we see how she deals with that/her trying to discover her power somehow. It's a lot of fun to watch, some characters have absolutely ridiculous powers, where you think they'd probably be better off without a power.

Part 1: My Origin Story…

It all started when I was little. Pokémon Season 18 or Smth Like That was my favorite show. I once binged it for four hours straight, finishing the season, and was ready to restart it, but unfortunately my mom kicked me off the TV and told me to touch grass.

Sometime later I had tried to find the show again. Gone. No longer on Netflix. I was like 7. I didn’t know you could find it anywhere other than Netflix. I travelled across the lands, searching far and wide for the same show I had watched. But none of the seasons were the same. I remember vaguely watching some pokémon movie and not understanding anything and seeing Brock and being like “who the fuck is this???” I even saw like an episode and a half of season 1, which I apparently didn’t like. L take season 1 solos.

Years pass by. I forget about the show. And then, I somehow find out that the season I watched was XYZ. Cool, but it didn’t trigger the obsession. What came next, was my downfall.

Part 2: The Tumblr Sexyman Wiki.

Archive of Our Own. Fanfiction.net. Random ass websites, anything I could find that had new rocketshipping fics (except Wattpad cause it’s asssssss). I learned about Jessebelle. I was truly hooked.

Started watching the show. Got to Holy Matrimony, and my brain absolutely sunk its claws into the episode. I was thinking about it 24/7 during school. Just barely keeping it together and not brainrotting all over my friend about it (mission failed but thankfully they hardly remember it). Made some character fanart but i guess art block or something and also how the fuck do you draw Jessebelle’s hair. Uhh other stuff too i don’t feel like listing. I was also rewatching the episode a lot.

This week's episode of Mandalorian went hard. I have so many thoughts but I cannot put them into words because I watched it at like 7am when I woke up, watched it, went back to sleep so it feels like half of it was a dream.

I have made the executive decision that I am calling out from work today as a mental health day/I need more fucking sleep. I also kinda like the idea of having, yanno, two days off in a row. So even though it's going to fuck my paycheck (because I am not making up these hours GDI) I think I need it.

EDIT: Spoke with work and I guess with the new attendance policy they just put down you can elect if you want them to use your PTO or personal time. So I actually can get paid for today. Which yay. Lets me burn some of my banked PTO so I don't lose it as I'm still actively exploring new jobs and I think I have like 6 days banked at this point. And then 2 days of unpaid personal time.

I'm going to go catch a 3pm showing of D&D movie. I was super tempted by the new Mario Bro's movie since I've heard it's a serotonin-filled colorful spectacle but I don't want to deal with kids talking and being...yanno kids. At a kids movie. That might be a late night only showing sorta situation.

So yeah, I'm going to do that, hopefully catch a nap and re-watch Mandalorian and come back with a more cohesive thought than just keyboard smashing.

Non-spoiler thoughts. I'm kinda getting a little tired of this recent trend of SW shows where they have some vague meandering plot for most of the season, get to the last two episodes and I guess have a collective 'oh shit we only have two more episodes? LETS SHOVE EVERYTHING INTO IT" and they got super hard.

What about that random series of very dragging, could have prolly been cut down a bit episodes where the heroes have to do some kind of fetch quest or whatever? TBB Is INFAMOUS for this but honestly, last two seasons of Mandalorian have been, TBoBF suffered the same thing. Fucks sake it twook almost 1/3 of it's run time to dedicate to Mandalorian Season 2.5.

Andor I feel like didn't suffer AS MUCH with the pacing. I'm sure some people could argue the whole prison thing went on maybe a bit too long but it was such a glorious ride we all loved it and Andy Serkis too much to complain. Also Andor is one of the best SW series to ever be put out.

And I honestly could not tell you what the fuck happened in Obi-Wan Kenobi even thought I think it's been less than a year. I need to re-watch it but I want to say it had the same problem. Like last two eps were fire, what the fuck happened up till that point? Fuck if I can tell you. Something-something Kenobi was brooding and eternally suffering. Something-something Leia was sassy and does anyone at Lucasarts know how to write a kid who is just a dumb kid? Like, have you ever tried to reason with a five year old when they are tired and cranky? It's filled with escalating tantrums, tears and a lot of sulking. Which gets worse because eventually the kid gets so upset they forget how to actually communicate with their words and they are just a bundle of emotions.

I loved Leia but she was only like five or six and acted like a 10+ year old except for a couple of scenes. So yeah Star Wars has zero idea how to write kids. Prolly because kids are lowkey terrors and they would prolly trigger PTSD in half their audience if they made it too realistic.

Also wow that was a tangent.

My point being, not loving this waiting till the last two episodes to make these huge impactful plot bombs and maybe they need to work on their pacing and cutting of extraneous bullshit.

DC's Stargirl 2.13 "Summer School: Chapter Thirteen" has aired on the CW and I'm here to talk about it

Finale time baby!! Finales are always bittersweet. You know it's gonna be fun but how long will it be until the next season? Season three is obviously confirmed and I think has started pre-production? I'm not sure. Maybe.

A previously on intro, how exciting! I don't think we've had one of these before, definitely not in this season. Maybe for season 1's finale. And a new creepy logo. Love the purple.

Yolanda fighting Ted Grant (kick his ass bestie), Cindy fighting (???) her young self, Pat fighting a younger him too (assumedly specifically the version that let the old JSA go kill Bruce Gordon). I wonder what kind of effect specifically fighting Ted will have on Yo, especially with that little "you kill one person, specifically Brainwave of all people, and you quit" jab. Maybe it'll be the reminder she needs about how Brainwave is someone who kinda needed to die. I've ranted about this before but we don't know if anywhere that can really hold the super-powerful psychic Brainwave exists. We haven't seen an ARGUS or a DEO. They may exist but we haven't seen them, so killing him was the only solution. He was also lowkey trying to commit genocide.

It seems they can see what the other people are fighting so I'm betting this is one of those "we have to fight each others demons" kind of solutions. Like, idk, Cindy has to beat Ted, Yo has to beat young Pat, and Pat has to beat young Cindy (or any combination). We'll come back to this and see. Or maybe Courtney has to beat their illusions and in doing so she embraces her darkness or whatever, and that's how Eclipso gets her.

Or Beth and McNider are going to save them because they can see the illusions aren't real. That works too. Not as fun but whatever.

Courtney & Cindy work so well together holy shit. Another great example of teamwork. I'm not in the camp of people who want Cindy to be redeemed and join the JSA permanently (though I wouldn't really be mad at that) but I definitely wanna see these two team up like this more. A lot of the action has been really stellar this season. And I love how many of the fight scenes in this show overall are long takes. Really showcases the work the choreographer as well as the cast and their stunt doubles put into making these fights work.

Something I do also predict (but still might not happen) is a reveal that Rick actually does have super strength even without the hourglass because of reasons and this specific event of watching Grundy get murdered is gonna be the final trigger to unlocking it. Maybe not but it'd be fun.

Who is it Barbara?! Who's "you"?! Clearly whoever Cindy called, but who did she call. Artemis? Tigress & Sportsmaster? Those are the only options that make sense in my mind but who knows.

I know he has a connection with these characters in the comics but I really only know him from his more recent adventures and relationship with the D.E.O. and Kate Kane. Those probably won't be relevant but who knows, maybe we'll get a surprise.

It's always a sad time when a season of your favourite show ends. It's probably gonna be another full year before we get to see them back for season 3. I'm really excited for season 2 to be up on HBO Max so I can rewatch it all in one big sitting. I absolutely love binge-watching. I really hope y'all enjoyed both this season and seeing my thoughts about it every week. The wait for season 3 is going to really suck but I'm really excited to keep up with how production is going. For more Stargirl, Courtney has become Stargirl on HBO Max's Young Justice. How much of her we'll see is anybody's guess but she is there and that has new episodes every Thursday with episode 5 this week.

I have some issues with the overall queer rep of the show that I’ve talked about quite recently so that’s why this season gets a few minutes points

still great season and deserves to be the international phenomenon that it is

skam france season 3

personal enjoyment: 7/10

contrary to what you might think, I actually enjoy this season

but I think the themes weren’t fully developed; the light/dark thing was an interesting idea but it wasn’t explored enough imo

I also think some decisions threw off the pacing of the story, eg. the coming out to yann clip, the cuddle clip and how fast they were getting naked, the scene in the park somehow does not work for me in the context of the whole arc

as for rep, i can clearly tell this is played by straight actors, so if you’re not going to commit pls leave the role to some actual gay actors, thank you (no shade but maxence was solely cast for his looks 🍵)

also it’s like a very artistic approach [cough paint scene cough] and not really realistic (hate myself for using that word) which is a choice, but I choice I don’t like on a show for teenagers that is supposed to be authentic and down to earth

druck season 3

pacing/plot: 7/10

I personally love this season so much, I have so many personal memories and feelings attached to it

I also think both david and matteo are some of the best characters in the skamverse, especially david is just a genius “Even but not Even at all” remake character

as for pacing and plot, i think a lot of the clips after david comes out and before they reunite in the swimming pool felt off/repetitive, and/or simply didn’t add enough to matteo’s story and development if that makes sense

there were some good moments but the timing can be a little messy and didn’t feel as organic as it should (prime example the clip of hans and the lube, really good clip but just wrong timing)

the public outing alone gives them 1 minus point tbh

representation wise i would say it’s really good and authentic and considerate (apart from that clip which should burn in hell)

david and matteo are literally the most soulmate-level healthiest couple in the skamverse, fight me

skam españa season 2

I think the only thing that really bothers me about the pacing is the ending, I think I would have preferred to have at least one more scene of joana and cris alone after they made up

about the representation, i have very few small issues

1) lucas getting punched, I’m never a fan of portraying homophobic violence though I do think it was handled alright-ish

2) cris and Joana being somewhat desexualized

3) this isn’t about queer rep but I am a tiny bit triggered by crisana’s fight, I think it was a little too much and they could have toned down on the harshness just for my personal sanity and bc it lowkey triggered me 🙈

wtfock season 3

personal enjoyment: 5/10 (i love hate watching it, can’t lie)

Wtfock is literally the polar opposite of eskam bc

2) And instead of introducing sander early they dragged it out until episode 3 and shoved a whole month of development into one single week

the pacing was literally all over the place, I was getting whiplash

they very much chose trauma porn every chance they got, not the queer rep that we need more of thats for sure

the reason they don’t have 0/10 on rep is that I liked a few talks between milan and robbe quite a lot (as a hater I’m embarrassed to admit that one of milan’s speeches even made me tear up, pls don’t take away my street creds)

imo though the queer rep should have been more of a focus and not just the 17626th side storyline that gets like 1 clip of development every week, their relationship simply didn’t have enough build up

I still enjoy this season a lot despite having quite a few major issues with it bc honestly it’s just a fun skins/riverdale/skam mashup vibe about a bisexual edgy girl who is a cheap copy of effy, I’m just weak for that kind of trash-y teen drama

druck season 6

it had really concise interconnected topics, and well chosen fitting themes/metaphors throughout the whole season (arguably the season relied too heavily on metaphors lol but I personally liked it)

I thought they found their rhythm again in episode 9 (until the thursday clip happened but let’s ignore that clip)

as for queer rep, you can tell this story had so many queer people both behind and in front of the camera, it warms my tiny little gay heart 💞✨😌💓🥺💛💕

I know probably no one (me included) considers mia’s or tiff’s season queer since both focus on a m/f relationship but I do want to talk about both of them real quick:

I quite like that max being trans was kept very casual and was basically a non-issue between him and tiff! also quite like the social media storyline of him legally changing his name, wish that was brought up more on screen. there were some questionable moments for ✨educational purposes✨ don’t know if that was always so necessary, also sucks that tiff stayed friends with her transphobic friend in the end, and I think the sex toy thing was not it but overall the queer rep was good 7/10

(like not just the fact that they’ve resumed a physical relationship but rio’s invited beth deeper into his world and we’re seeing beth crack on a level we really haven’t before)

this season is leaning SO HARD into duality and the tangled up truths and lies between them and i am absolutely UNHINGED over it

i also really love the like, passionate ballad nature of it juxtaposed over this twisted, extremely sexy moment (intercut with dean joyfully trying to seize hold of his new hobby only to be IMMEDIATELY denied)

on a yrical note, i love that the song is basically the same verse over and over (interspersed with the chorus, obvs) and the only change is me vs you when it comes to who brought the storm down on them

basically, if you were challenged to come up with a song that represented two peak dramatique heaux nightmare factories locked in a never ending game of deadly cat and mouse, you couldn’t top this.

honeslty, lowkey surprised this one made my top five. not because it isn’t a fabulous song deployed with johnathan leahy’s usual mastery, but bc i didn’t realize how much i loved it until making this list

i don’t really have like, a deep, lyrically rooted storytelling reason for loving it, i just think the way they used it in the show is Such A Vibe

the way the vibrating synthy tones and underlying organ kicks in while rio’s getting in the elevator has this beautiful held breath anticipatory quality to it that works SO WELL to set up the montage of rio strutting out back into his life while turner gets murdered (a scene i have some uh, complicated feelings about but setting those aside), and the bolands’ fresh start to the tune of bouncy drums and looping vocals

idk it’s such a shining note to end the first episode of a new season on, i remember feeling refreshed and super hype for what’s to come

motivation - so in true me fashion and my aversion to brevity, i've made three (3) posts (see also artists, gifs/edits) to celebrate the wonderful people in this fandom who have made my jatp tumblr experience what it is; a community of people who simply shout into the void about their love of a ghost band and their fearless female leader. i've enjoyed simply being on the sidelines admiring everyone's love for the show, but i thought this would be a good time to really show my appreciation for all these wonderful people, because if i've learned anything from this pandemic, it's that there is NEVER a wrong time to tell someone that they are simply ✨the best✨.

Okay this is gonna get a little long so please bear with me. But I just wanted to preamble this by saying that the fanfiction written by the jatp fandom is what resparked my love for reading fiction after about 3-4 years of not reading for leisure (be an adult they said. it'll be fun they said.). So I'm really grateful for that? I don't interact with a lot of people, just because it makes me a little anxious, but I will constantly yell about your content in the tags as if I were on a set of bleachers with a megaphone.

I also know there are so many wonderful fic writers out there (on Tumblr and not on Tumblr) that make amazing pieces of work, and this is just a tiny peek into that, and is not at all conclusive.

Without further ado here are some writers who live rent free in my head, in alphabetical order, so feel free to just skip to your name to avoid my rambling:

@bluefirewrites -> your Merry Ex-Mas fic had me on the edge of my seat every single time you updated. I am so in love with how you wrote the characters into this and at how many words you churned out for this fic. This was filled with so much adventure, and it was really welcome during a time when the world wasn't allowed to travel. And I simply love all the other drabbles and fics you write, but I especially enjoy the hilarity of Ray Molina, Crime Scene Photographer and Matchmaker.

@captainkippen -> I'm pretty sure Love Drunk was one of the first fics I ever read in this fandom. Your stories and your writing feel so goddamn real and I find myself so immersed in the worlds that you've created. I have reread most of your jatp fics and I still manage to find myself stupidly grinning at my phone each time. Your stories flow so easily and are such perfect characterizations of the characters we know from the show, but elevated to fit into your verse. I cannot say enough how wonderful your writing is and how talented you are!! (also a slight nudge that I am still very much following along with The Key and the Crown and I hope you continue it!)

@catty-words -> Your???? Exhaustive??? Music??? Lists???? The amount of work and dedication and microanalyzing that you put into pulling out every detail from each scene is so admirable. You not only manage to find the details, but you also give us EVIDENCE via your intricately selected gifs. You could've just put the video of the performance, but no, you take your time to find that specific 1 second shot to emphasize your point. And your little fics that you sometimes throw out into the world? They're so beautiful, and so fun to read and I enjoy them so much! (I am STILL screaming about this band's a snack) Thank you for validating my yelling in the tags, and for feeding my hyperfixation to this show. @lydias--stiles -> I don't even know what to say here because I've yelled so much about your fics that I feel like there's really nothing else to yell. Your Road Trip AU was also one of the first ones I read in this fandom, and really just made me go absolutely feral. Pretty sure I absorbed the rest of your fics in an ungodly amount of time and I just simply think you are incredibly skilled and talented. Every time you post a new fic I always wonder what it's like to be in your head because the ideas you come up with are so unique and so well thought out. @serendipitee -> Your stories and your writing are absolutely magical. I think Write It Down was one of the first multi-chapter fics that I followed super closely and whenever you updated, I would literally drop what I was doing and read it instantly. You have such a way of building the plot and the characters for all of your fics and drabbles, and making the reader just want more. Please know that I am so obsessed with Oh, She Waltzed With the Dead and I cannot wait to see where you take the story!

@sunsetcurbed -> I have no words for your writing. I am simply in awe every time I read something from you. The way you've got down Alex and Willie's voice to a tee is so crazy good. You write their characters and their stories with such grace and care, especially with how you approach the topic of mental health. Thank you for all the research you do and for also writing in your own experiences. I literally binged the Princes Diaries AU during work and lost a good half day to it, and I regret nothing because that fic left me in SHAMBLES. I secretly adore the way you say you're going to keep a fic short, and end up writing an insane amount of words for it. (I have not yet left my obligated long-ass comment on Chapter 4 of the College AU yet because I am still processing the fate/destiny concept.)

@tangledstarlight -> Gahh. Rosie. Please. This is going to sound a little repetitive considering I just screamed at you last night, but now I guess I will just have to publicly confess my adoration for you!!! Thank you for being my first online friend in a very long time, and for putting up with me yelling at you about everything (and also nothing at the same time). I can't believe all it took was one message about your Royals AU for you to post it, but I will gladly take that credit any day. You are so so so incredibly talented with your writing, and your ability to transport me to another world while I read your fics is unparalleled. I adore the way you can come up with a new story to write every day, and then proceed to throw it into your pot of other WIPs. I’ve been struggling a bit covering the show. I’m not going to stop, I decided against that, but I felt opening up about it might help a bit. 

I chalk it up to a number of things. The first is that the show went back to Season 1′s style of storytelling. To compare season 1 was basically one long, four hour film. There were plots within the episodes but it was one complete story. Season 2 was also one complete story, but had a more relaxed pace to it, with the episodes feeling more like indvidual bits of media and less part of one big operatic season long story. Neither approach is bad but so far the shows i’ve covered, both on a week to week basis and indvidually for varoius reasons, have taken the approach season 2 did, more episodic adventures with the plot still moving right along. And with Season 2 being you know, the second season, I didn’t expect the show to return to Season 1′s storytelling, if with some embeleshments from season 2 like the cold opens that really help it flow better, so I was caught off guard. 

The second is that I hadn’t reviewed a “new” show week to week in some time and thus forgot their was an adjustment period, and combinging that with the fact Sunday used to be a catchup day or a break with reviews before Final Space started, I was caught off guard and thus struggled a bit. I seriously considered ending these reviews.. but eventually realized why I did, that I had more to say and I don’t HAVE to be as in depth with the recap portion of the review every single time. A review should be as long or short as it needs to be. Not TOO short mind, but I don’t have to provide a detailed synopsis when you can usually , by the time I get this show’s ones out anyway, see the episode yourself or go to the wiki. 

TLDR: Reviewing this show has been a bit of a learning experince, and a re-learning experince but I realized I shoudln’t give up because it’s hard, and if I did that EVERY TIME that became a problem, I wouldn’t of lasted a full year of reviews. So join me under the cut as we dive deep into Avacato’s past, Gary and Quinn’s intamcy issues and cosmic god swordfights. 

As it’s been our heroes are mostly seperated into their own plots, same lineups as last time, though this time Bollo and Gary’s plots come together at the very end. And I will say before I get into each one while this isn’t a bad storytelling engine, and Final Space has used it well in the past... I REALLY miss the interaction between the characters. It’s something the show got REALLY good at in season 2. The friction caused by Gary and Clarence jockying for control, Ash’s weird sorta relatoinship with LIttle Cato that I miss as I still lowkey ship those two, Fox and LIttle Cato slowly growing from enimies due to their respective race’s centuries long war to friends, Nightfall having to deal with the fact our Gary isn’t hers, HUE’s relationship with AVA, EVERYONE hating KVN.. there was just a LOT of good stuff int here that I miss. I get why it’s gone, the stakes are really high right now and we still have gotten some of it like the whole Feel Me sequence.. I just hope we get some more back as we go , especially since Ash and Fox, whose unique deisgns got me to catch up with the series for season 2 in the first place and whose personalites made them instantly adopted children of mine, have been pushed to the side during these first three episodes and hopefully we’ll get a bit more soon. It’s just something I hope we get back as we go, especially with two new members joining the Team Squad this week for the old guard to bounce off of. And tha’ts not even getting into the fact there’s a lot to unpack for Gary with his mom trying to be a good mom after decades of bullshit. But we’ll see, I can’t predict the future. I can break down this episode soooo.

Team Avacato: Butcher

This part was easily the highlight of the episode. To start us off the episode begins by flashing us back to when Invictus grabbed a seemingly dead Lord Commander last season. Turns out he wasn’t QUITE as dead as Nightfall thought. We also find out that LC.. has no idea who Invictus is. This tracks when I think about it:  He had, and still has, a worshipful reverence for the titans, wanting to become one and gain the power of a god and clearly thought they were at the top of the food chain. If he knew someone else was behind it.. he would’ve brought them up sooner, especially since he has a love of giving manical speeches where he hot dogs and grandstands for a bit before choking someone to death. He was also suprised the titans just ignored him. 

But now he knows.. but even when confronted with a horrifying demonic entity who just swiped him from near death, he’s still as egosticial and cold as ever. But invictus has a tempting offer: They can give Lord Commander what he wanted: they can MAKE HIM A TITAN. We don’t know if htis is true or not of course, but given the sheer scale of invictus power and the fact they’ve had an army of titans under their thrall for centuries, if anyone can do it they can. 

All invictus wants in return.. is Mooncake. I do love Lord Commander’s “Oh for fuck’s sake’ reaction to finding out he has to seek him out again. His tone just screams...

Invictus needs our little buddy though: Turns out, ironically enough given Bolo’s situation until the end of last season, Invictus is imprisoned and needs Mooncake’s power to break the seal. And given the sheer power this thing has displayed WITHOUT being at full....

Yeah it’s not great. Invictus restores Lord Commander to normal.. and as seen last episode and confirmed here, his powers are no longer destroying his body to use, so the one thing keeping him from killing them all and ending the show in 5 minutes is now off the table. 

So with our heroes all nights of wundagory, Lord Commander zeroes in on the Catos. Which makes a ton of sense: He dosen’t KNOW Ash, Fox or Sheryl. At all. Lord Commander isn’t just a bastard he’s a SADISTIC bastard. While he could work on the rest of them it’s just no fun for him as he can’t add a personal touch. You can see how much he enjoys this, he never avoids this, because buddy he’s a diffrent breed, this is his calling, and though i’ts applaing, he loves making people bleed... emotionally and physically. 

So our own personal antichrist spends the episode forcing Avacato’s backstory out of him. Sure he could just tell it himself but as I said via refrence .. he ENJOYS this.

While we got part of Avacato’s backstory in season 1, he worked for lord comander, did the worst shit imaginable, knows he’ll never be able to ballance those books, and the one line he ended up drawing was his son, who LC decided to use as a barganing chip. that was towards the END of his life as Lord Commander’s right hand monster. This is his origin.  After loosing his first son, Avacato, a loyal solider of the ventrixian army, kept fighting despite having nothing left to fight for. What happened to his first son and all that we don’t know yet.. but he was just left a souless killing machine fighting a war that had been going on so long his people forgot it, the same one brought up last season. Yeah Fox and LIttle Cato’s fued comes off a bit more horrifying in hindsight. 

So one day he was outgunned, outmanned, outnumbered and outplanned... when Lord Commander showed up, murdered EVERYONE in the opossing armor and asked them all to kneel, with Avacato taking his time. Later that day Avacato apporached the Lord Commander... who saw right through him. He was a warrior, but the war he was fighting was hollow.. he was a butcher, a murderer with no real purpose or direction... and Lord Commander was all too happy to offer him one, bettering the universe and all that crap.. though how much he belivies it remains to be scene. I must say David Tennat is at his peak this episode, giving his best performance as the green asshole yet, full of gravitas and cruelty as you’d expect and showing WHY people followed him: He gave the purposeless purpose and easily could talk people into following him. Looking back Superior Stone probably GENUINELY belivied that he was doing something good. Lord Commander’s just that good at his job. 

So he just had one favor to ask, kill the king and queen who Avacato had served loyally and he’ll give him something real to fight for. And he did so. Naturally LIttle Cato is horrified and Ash TRIES to help sooothe his concisne pointing out his mind was twisted up and all that.. but Avacato solemly notes “I’m the one who pulled the trigger”. Ash means well.. but Avacato knows the truth: what he did there was horrid: a horrible betryal of two people just to feel something. No matter how much good he’s done since or how much he’s changed... Avacato knows what he did was horrible and no matter how hard he tries that ledger can’t be ballanced. He does good.. but it’s because it’s the right thing, not because he ever belivies he can be forgiven or work past what he’s done. And the show dosen’t make the case that he should or answer the hard questions.. it just leaves it there and given Olan’s outright said this arc is going to span seasons, if hopefully we get more mind you, I feel it’s going to be a long road to exploring that. 

And.. one other thing about the incident. As it turns out, and as Avacato left out of the story, and Lord Commander likely let him both because he’s out of intergation time and because he can use that later: Avacato was the son of the king and queen. Avacato murdered his parents, and then adopted him, even if Lord COmmander wasn’t happy about it. And now he’s stuck holding onto something THIS bad knowing it’ll destroy his son and their relationship when it comes out.. and that’s the problem. It’s not an if.. it’s a WHEN. Also everyone’s being dragged towards invictus. Uh-oh. 

Team Gary and Bollo: YAY BISKITS BACK... I think Yay still deciding Meanwhile on the DragonHawk 5, i’m going with Gary’s Name because as much as Quinn’s growing on me the galaxy 2 is an objectiely lazy name, but Gary picks out a room for them.. only for Quinn to suggest seperate rooms and Gary to clearly and understandably be bothered by it. This is a mixed bag. On the one hand I feel for him as he spent months trying to save quinn, she’s only doing this because she’s hiding something horrible from him, as we find out the infection we saw in the first episode has spread through her body, and he just wants to be with her. But on the other hand.. they’ve dated what.. a month and a day? It’s a bit much. The only reason this works is that that part isn’t really dwelt o and the actings good.. it just takes me out of it at times when my brain reminds me of this, and it’s something the show REALLY needs to explore at some point instead of just treating Gary and Quinn as JUST some shakesperian romance across all time.. I mean it is, but it’s also an awkard but loveable dork and a stralighaced woman whose been through hell who both really need to know one another bette.r 

So naturally this conflict dangles over them, but they have bigger issues: i.e. a new crew member! As mentioned Biskit is back, having snuck aboard and being entirely deranged. I don’t know what to make of him yet as while he was adorable last time this time his entire attuide is essentally 

No really he asks why they aren’t banging and interupts gary ALMOST getting Quinn to open up. But unlike say Tribore, it’s clear BIskt isn’t all there, and clearly has no frame of refrence for how creepy he’s being, so i’m willing to see how it plays out. 

So our heroes arrive at Bollo. Bollo spent the episode hunting down Orekis.. he’s sitll bitter about the whole stealing his girlfriend and giving her an std thing. Just a tad. So we get a truly EPIC battle including the two throwing each other THROUGH planets and one really cool bit where Bolo slides on the ring of a planet. So fucking awesome. Eventually he wins, though he now has an infection of some sort, that can’t be good, and Mooncake headblasts him.

Things aren’t great though as Gary isn’t happy when he finds out Bolo lied about his and quinn’s deaths to use Mooncake, with Bolo admitting he got clouded by revenge. But it’s clear theirs a divide in goals: Gary just wants to get the hell out and Bolo wants to stop invictus. And.. neither are wrong. Gary is understandable: He didn’t want any part of this shit to begin with, only going with the key quest to save Quinn. All going to final space has done and dealing with it in general has done has cost him people: Avacato (He got better but stillc ounts), Nightfall.. and his dad. It’s understandable that after ALL of this he just wants to find his surrogate family and LEAVE. 

But Bolo.. is right. his methods aren’t great and he needs to be more honest with Gary... but Invictus isn’t going to go away magically if Gary ignores him. He’s not Tucker Carlson. He’s right to go after him and ther’es no easy answer here. As we’ve seen iwth Quinn staying in final space fucks you up.. but if Gary dosen’t all of space my die.. or worse. It’s a decision he’s going to have to face soon: his family.. or everything. 

Final Thoughts: This episode is truly excellent. After a rough start to the season and a decent episode last time this episode is just out and out brilliant, filling in some more blanks with Avacato and progressing things at a nice clip. Oh wow, this got long so...

1. your all time favorite bl and why?

Ok, so I agree with Funya that the Untamed is not BL in the sense that I think this tag game means, but it is 100% my favorite and I consider it BL completely. I love it with my heart and soul. 

But if I have to pick one that labels itself as BL, it is definitely Cherry Magic. As most people who have watched it have said, it is a straight serotonin hit and I continue to love it.

2. that one bl that scarred you for life?

There are a lot that are not great, unfortunately. I think Why R U? was the worst one for me. There was a SUPER triggering scene at the end that I just could not believe was there, despite knowing full well that it happens in the genre.

3. is there any bl that made you feel very single?

Lol, this is a funny question to me because I have not been single for a LONG time and it seems to presume that only single people would enjoy BL or romance tropes in general. Which I can assure you, is not true.

4. if you could change one thing from a bl, which one would it be?

Hands down the second season of Together with Me’s major plot point. (SPOILER) -->> The cheating plot line was the worst and I loved their first season relationship so much, that they grew from friendship and were so careful with one another’s feelings and then the second season curse. (although technically the third? Bad Romance was weird, yo.)

Actually, I would really say the same about IPYTM, although I found their portrayal more realistic, but still, I didn’t feel like they earned that situation as much as they should have, and COULD have knowing how well the first season was written. 

AND, AND, sorry, this list could really go on forever, but there was a scene in We Best Love season 2 I’d love to erase from my brain and the show.

5. that one bl you detest (don’t hold back) :

Obviously there are so many bad things about TharnType. I would not say I detest it. I don’t think much about it. But I think the actors chemistry really allows people to gloss over some of the worst parts, although I feel mixed because they did outright address *some* of the badness in the second season and it is more than I have seen a lot of shows do, so I would not say detest. Just generally disgusted with some of the issues of the first season.

I don’t know what should be defined as trashy, but despite the stupid and really completely outrageous premise, I really enjoyed Be Loved In House I Do. I just ignored the whole set up because it was ridiculous and they shouldn’t listen to  Jin Yu Zhen’s rules because they were dumb and not at all what a boss can dictate and it was obvious he was going to have to grovel about being wrong in the end. But they actually did a nice little twist on the whole ex returning that I thought was sweet and included Aaron Lai’s real life car accident in the plot in an affecting way that seems potentially meaningful for the actor. I do not understand the reasoning for the special episode at the end at all because I didn’t care about Real and Stone’s past relationship, but I really enjoyed the leads chemistry, SHI LEI’S MOM and grumpy/sunshine is ALWAYS my jam.

8. your favorite korean bl

To My Star hands down. Two relatively lonely people who let down their guard for each other? Love it. Their dynamic was so wonderful.

I do agree that Light on Me is very good, but I don’t think it would top To My Star for me. I tend to enjoy the more adult stories being, you know, more elder. But I am really happy that Korean BL seems to be growing and I have hopes for a good full kdrama BL romance someday. 

9. season 2? which one?

Hrm, I don’t think I really liked any season 2s? I guess the best one I have seen is Still 2gether. They addressed any weird things from season 1 based on fan response, although some of it just retread territory that I thought they had gone through in season 1 and made me very sad for Tine being so insecure. BUT, I have said this before, that was the most romantic product placement I have ever seen when they threw the bottle across the street with the note, lol.

10. a bunch of dramas will air soon. which ones are you the most excited for?

I have no idea what will be airing. I let the peeps in the queermedia channel guide me. :)

The end of season report – Anime season Fall 2020

It is 20th July and I finally saw the last episode of all my Backlog of this season, I’m so slow watcher and seasoning not for me, this will be the last time.

Before the ranking I want to talk about few anime I didn’t watch

Plunderer is anime I wanted to watch but didn’t have the time and it was episode 17 when I saw it, Hina is so cute that the only reason I wanted to see it and it weak reason as you see.

Hakushon Daimaou 2020 is a remake of old anime from the 70’s I saw as a kid long time ago, it didn’t have any fan translation.

It is good anime remind me of the first arc of Hunter x Hunter, it is great in few part but miss that thing that make it timeless, maybe one more season will show more of the story, oh yah so many characters just so LOWkey, everyone talk so softly, there no energy in action anime.

6. Princess Connect! Re:Dive

Not good in a good way, this is pointless comedy anime with few ecchi and moe characters, I love this cat girl she had that cat personality LOVE HER, It is Isekai anime where the main character have no character, and they did it right, there so many filler episodes that just show case of new waifus, but it still has a lot of fun, this anime is 99% and 1% everything else.

If you like mindless cheap fun, watch it.

5. Yesterday wo Utatte

This is one of the best anime story wise but dame it, this anime so SLOW and I take it sweet time doing anything, and this is 12 episode anime that base on 113 chapter manga, can you imagine reading it, and yes it full adopted thanks god, the anime is so slow but faster than the manga for one.

I love the characters and the story and it not so emo or gloomy as you may think but it still a melodrama, but one of the few good ones, the slowness and the feeling of NOTHING happened is it only weak point but watch it.

4. Kakushigoto

It feels wrong putting this on number 4, This is great anime about a dad who try his best to rise his little girl it great, Melodrama yes but also one of the FUNNIES anime this season, mixing sadness with comedy is a great way to make me love your anime.

3. Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta…

This is the anime that I watched each episode the day it came out, Great comedy and lovable main character, and the story make you want to know what the next episode will hold.

2. Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai?: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen

COMEDY GOLD, no, COMEDY DIAMOND, no, COMEDY PLATINUM

This anime is the best comedy I ever saw this year, and one of the best comedy I ever saw in my life, I saw so many comedies.

I love the characters and the comedy is fast and hit the point, there few Drama moments but never slow the comedy (except in one episode that was so dark and melodrama but it was the best episode.

1. Gleipnir

Best anime this season, It was hard to rand 2-9, I know what number 10 was day one, that piece of shit, but this one was something else, I didn’t plan watching it at first, that why you watch seasonal, to find this gems.

Best action story characters, it so Serious in tone if you like your action with humor and more Shunen like Tower of god is that show, this on other hand the light Horror action anime, there blood action killing and no super moves but so much badass monsters and crazy will animated fights

In Summer I’ll not watch seasonal, it takes so much time and work, I’ll just watched all 2st episodes to take an idea of what we have this season and wait tell October

Reacting To: Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (Season 3 Episode 4)

Ughhhhh :’(

Episode Title: Don’t You Forget a Meow Me

Spoiler Warning: Kindly proceed if you’ve already seen the episode or are able to handle spoilers

1. First of all, what a cute episode title! LOL. The episode opens with Yumyan, Asher and Dahlia trying to catch a butterfly mute from the tree tops but the butterfly has a brain and is able to flee lol. And he has such a bro voice. Cool! We get to see a close-up of Asher; They look so good with short hair.

2. Dahlia spots Zane, who is about to fire his crossbow at someone but Yumyan and the others took care of him:

3. Back inside, everybody is having pancakes for dinner but they’re interrupted by Zane’s presence. He has a message for Kipo from Emilia and she wants Kipo to meet her at the water treatment facility in 3 hours to get cured. Kipo doesn’t seem to have a choice but to follow her instruction because Wolf, Benson and Dave have been captured by Emilia all thanks to that spineless backstabber, Margot. But I’m so pumped now because I feel like things are gonna get epic and serious from this point onwards. 

4. Kipo immediately runs off to get to Emilia but is thankfully stopped by Song before she makes another bad decision. Kipo is frustrated that Emilia still has power even though she thinks she has already completely destroyed the research journal, which we know it wasn’t completely disintegrated.

5. They head back to the village to discuss a new game plan. Song tries to give her input and it sounds pretty legit but it’s a shame nobody is understanding her. I have a feeling this is where Mulholland is gonna come in. 

I actually think Zane’s lowkey fine....don’t judge lol

6. But what’s even better is that they know Zane is aware of Emilia’s secret plan and Kipo brilliantly comes up with the idea to trick him into drinking water with Mulholland in it in order to get inside his thoughts. Mulholland is such a useful ally to have. 

Poor Scarlemagne is getting tossed around in that glass cell, ouch!

7. We switch things over to Scarlemagne, who is having a conversation with Song! Song looks like she’s expressing her worries to him but Scarlemagne, too, doesn’t get what she’s trying to say. Sometimes I find myself forgetting that these two had somewhat of a mother-son relationship. 

8. Mulholland manages to retrieve the info from Zane’s brain and he tells the others that Emilia only has 2 doses of the cure, thanks to the fur Kipo left back in episode 2. Also, he reveals (or mentally shows) to them that Wolf, Benson and Dave are tied up with a bomb nearby so that in case anyone tries to rescue them, Emilia and her crew will cause the bomb to explode. Yikes!

9. Kipo wonders if Mulholland could get into Emilia’s head to turn her good but he says it’s too risky because if he gets mixed in with the cure, there is a possibility he would de-mute everyone. Double yikes! But I think it’s a plan worth considering if none of their other plans work because at least Dr. Emilia hasn’t been introduced to Mulholland, I think.

10. Side note: Where is Troy throughout all of this? His boyfriend is captured and threatened by the bad guys. I want to know his reaction. Anyways, with the help of Mulholland, Kipo, Lio and Yumyan then go through an imaginary test-run of their rescue mission but they quickly fail because Kipo is too fearful. Why though? Is it because her friends are in danger? But that didn’t stop her in episode 2 when Jamack was captured. Weird, right? 

11. Yumyan and Lio try to advise Kipo on how to stay calm and not be too afraid when facing Emilia. Yumyan definitely got through to Kipo a little more because he reminds her of the time in Season 1 when she pushed him to take charge. Afterwards, Kipo seems to feel a lot better and she then tries another simulation....and another...and I guess another but she’s always failing. Really, Kipo?

12. Awww, the way those Timberkittens call Scarlemagne’s name was so adorable!  Also, are their names really Scrumples and Snugglemuffin? Or are those nicknames given to them by Scarlemagne. If so, omg that’s so precious! So now, Scarlemagne is trying to teach Song to speak using alphabet blocks just like how she taught him when he was just a child and when she was still a human. 

13. Back to Kipo’s test-runs; She’s still failing miserably in them. She can’t seem to avoid Emilia’s darts for some reason, specifically the second dart she shoots at her. Well, she better figure out a strategy quick because the deadline to respond to Emilia is almost here.

14. Next, we see Song and Scarlemagne playing charades with the latter trying to guess what’s she’s gesturing. It’s funny that Song doesn’t know how to read or write but she sure does know how to listen to the others almost perfectly lol. Eventually, he manages to guess a word that is similar to “feeling” so far. Hmm...

15. It’s times up and Mulholland decides to bid his farewell for the good of the mutes. He feels like him being around them would be dangerous in the event Emilia got to him. Ugh, I don’t want him too leave. He’s too much of a valuable asset to the group. Not to mention, he’s hilarious. 

I love soft Scarlemagne. I have a feeling that he still has that family bond with the Oaks. 

16. Kipo feels like she has no choice now but to give in to Emilia’s demands but before they could leave, Scarlemagne and Song stop them because Song has a message she wants to give to Kipo through Scarlemagne. She basically wants Kipo to know that she shouldn’t let Emilia use her feelings against her and instead, she should dish it back to Emilia. Scarlemagne further explains that she should let Emilia think she won this round so that she would put her guard down. Great thinking!

17. We fast forward to Kipo barging into Emilia’s hideout without hesitation. Emilia shoots a cure dart and it apparently gets her but she probably didn’t. I predict Kipo has some protective covering for her chest. Emilia goes back on her deal and now wants to take all of them back to her ship. And she wants Kipo to tell the rest of the humans that she didn’t want to be a mute anymore. 

18. It turns out that she’s just distracting her so that Lio and Yumyan could go forward with their rescue plan with Lio stealing Emilia’s second and only other dart left and Yumyan stopping Greta from triggering the nectar bomb. And as predicted, Kipo had that piece of wood Scarlemagne used to write on to protect her. And the battle begins with Yumyan taking on Greta and Kipo taking on Emilia.

19. But why are they struggling against the humans? Kipo should’ve transformed into her full Mega Jaguar form. Because of that, both Emilia and Greta manage to best them and escape. What the!? This fight should’ve been one-sided with the odds favoring the mutes. 

20. And look what happened! OMG! I think Yumyan got hit by the dart that was meant for Kipo. Again, why was Kipo so slow at avoiding those darts all of a sudden?! Ughh, she’s so frustrating. Technically, Wolf made the dart go to Yumyan but this wouldn’t happen if Kipo had reacted faster. Kipo and the rest think that they escaped without any harm...we’ll see about that...

21. Yeap, my fears came true because Yumyan did get hit by the cure dart and he has turned into regular cat. Nooooo!!!! And it’s kinda low key Kipo’s fault. She went through like 10 test runs, so she should’ve learned to avoid them but no, she didn’t! *sniffs. Kipo better find a way to turn him back into a mute pronto. And I’m pretty sure Lio would be able to help. Damn...and the episode has to end with his last words being “Yumyan owns you...meow”...CRIESSSS
