Sirius Black is a pretty boy that comes from a rich family. Many people want him.
Some might see this as an advantage, not Sirius. Sometimes he doesn't know if people like him because of his beauty and money or because of himself.
With his friends, he knows it is the latter. But sometimes he doubts it. Sometimes he wonders why they put up with him in the first place. He is a pain in the ass. Sometimes horrible, selfish and reckless.
With his lovers is worse. Sometimes he loves being wanted and desired. He is the kind of person who craves love and affection. But sometimes wonders if people would ever love him for real. If he wasn't good looking or wasn't a Black, people wouldn't even like him. He doubts himself all the time. And he is scared to be vulnerable, to fall in love and show his real self so the other person would leave him.
Sirius might joke saying he is gorgeous and blessed with beauty. But in reality, Sirius believes being a pretty boy is a curse.

past - @wolfstarmicrofic - word count: 340
All through his childhood, Sirius Black's boggart was his mother.
Yelling. Screaming. Pointing her wand. It terrified him.
In school, he'd learned to face it. Face her. Turn her into a clown with dramatic makeup and a horrible outfit. He'd never really thought much about his boggart after that.
Until the beginning of seventh year.
He was setting up the pieces of an elaborate scheme, heading to hide in a closet. He knew people rarely went there. Indeed, he was pretty sure the last people who had visited this particular closet, so far off from the more frequently-trodden halls, had been he and Remus, a few nights ago. He blushed at the thought.
So when opened the door of the small room, he was caught quite off-guard to see Remus, himself, there. Leaning against the wall of the empty closet. Looking disgusted.
"What are you doing, thinking about me? You think I love you?" Remus asked, revulsion etched in every feature. "You think I could ever forgive you for what you did to me in the past?"
He froze. Confusion, terror, sadness, and truth ripped through him.
"I could never love someone like you."
And Sirius could fight anything- dark beasts and curses and everything in between. But this? Losing Remus, after everything they'd been through, after the way they'd grown even closer over the past few months? He needed him.
"Remus," his response was almost pleading.
"You're nothing. Just a product of your parents. I don't know what any of us ever saw in you."
A sob ripped through him, loud and visceral, so pained that he almost didn't hear the person approaching from behind him.
"Riddikulus!" Another Remus said firmly, pointing his wand at the Remus on the closet.
And, as the closet-Remus vanished and the reality of the situation dawned on Sirius, he sobbed again, falling into the real Remus's arms. "I'm- I'm so sorry," he choked.
"I love you so much, baby. You're safe," Remus just murmured into his ear as he cried. "I forgive you."

Nerdy - James Potter
TW: female!reader
Tumblr media
You were very happy when Slughorn paired you with Remus Lupin for the potions class. You always thought he was nice and very interesting, so without surprise you two got along very well very quikly. You were both big readers and would often meet at the library to chat about lots of things. It was therefore natural for him to introduce you to his group of friend, the Marauders.
You weren't stressed to meet them, but you had to admit you weren't too excited either. You only saw them as pranksters with no respects for rules and others. That's why you were very surprise when you realize how sweet and fun they were to be around in reality the first time to met them at the Three Broomsticks.
Sirius was, at your opinion, the funniest. He just seemed so chill around his friends and he was very welcomming to you, despite the clear contrast between you and him. Though he was a real tease all the time, especially with Remus you had notice...
Peter was completly different from the others. The boy was so sweet with everyone, you loved playing chess with him. He reminded you of a little bunny, always a bit nervous and jumpy around every person that are not his three best friends.
And finally James, he was a cliché for real. The guy was Quidditch captain, built like a rock, with messy hair and cocky smirks. He was all you should have despise, but you just couldn't. He was just so kind and safe to be around, somehow. He wasn't at all like he seemed, he had an ego as big as the Dark Lack but a heart to match it. To be honest the boy was very intrigued by you.
You looked like a little nerd, a cute bookworm who avoided people and spend her time in the library. And that was kind of true. But at the same time you were also feisty like a lion and as cocky as him. That's the thing that caught James eyes the first time you met him.
- And that's how we won. It was a crazy match, you should have seen it. James explained their last Quidditch match with energy to you and Remus.
- Yeah, it was all strategy. It's thanks to Prongs that we won, he's the one who got the idea to fake a fall from the broom to caught their attentions. Sirius said as he pass an arm around his friend's shoulders.
- Really? Crazy, I thought you athletes didn't have anything in your heads. You giggle with a mischievous grin. James raises his eyebrows as a playful smile grow on his lips.
- Oh is that so? 'Cause you know everything about life with your nose buried in your books all day, huh? He spoke back but not in a mean way.
- Well at least I know other things than how to fly on a broomsticks. You said with a cocky smirk as you lean toward him. He was sat across you at the table.
- At least I know how to get on a broomstick. He lean toward you aswell, putting his elbows on the wood table.
- At least I knod how to read. You defy with a wide grin.
- Ah got me there nerdy. He chuckle and pass his hand in his messy brown hair. You giggle, kind of enjoying this nickname for the first time.
Surprisingly you and him became kind of friends quite quikly and that was thanks to James really. After only your first meeting with the boys, the Potter would come talk to you in the common room like you knew him for years.
- Hey nerdy, how you doin' here? You hear a deep voice behind you and turn to meet James brown eyes behind his round glasses. He's standing behind the couch you were sat on, his elbows resting on the back of it.
- Hum fine. You're not with the guys? You ask him, a bit puzzled that he's talking to you so casually.
- Nah, they're all outside. He shrugs his shoulders with a side smile.
You narrow your eyes at the Quidditch player, wondering if a prank is being pulled on you or if he needs to ask you something about homeworks. But he just came to sit down next to you and ask you questions about the book in your hands.
- Oh so the cakes can make her grow big or small, s'that right?
- Yes, exactly! You say a little too eagerly. That makes James smile grow bigger as he looks into your eyes.
- This 'Wonderland' sounds very strange. He giggled, resting his chin into the palm of his hand.
- It is, but the book is very good. I think it's actually one of my favorite muggle story. You say with passion in your eyes, you just love talking about your interests. And James begin to think that he could listen to you talking about this Alice and hee White Rabbit all day long.
- You read lots of muggle books, don't you?
- Yeah, since my parents are muggles they showed me all the muggle's classics but nobody ever showed me the wizard's classics. You chuckle as James' smile grew even wider at your words.
- Maybe I could! If you want I mean, we could go to Hogsmeade and I'll show you a cute magic library. He says as he sit up, his eyes almost sparkling.
- I mean I'd love that, thank you. You smile softly to him, a happy smile on your lips.
- No problem nerdy. I love feeding your knowledge.
So you went to Hogsmeade together the next week-end, just the two of you. It was already january and the wizard village was covered by a thin thickness of snow. With your woolen hat on youe head, you were walking next to the tall frame of the Quidditch player. You were laughing warmly at his playful banter about you having your nose red from the cold. You two enter then the cute library he had told you about. It was called 'Birdy&co'. As soon as your foot brush the floor your eyes light up.
- By Merlin, James this is amazing.
It was. The place was even bigger on the inside, everything was in old and dark wood with blue carpet everywhere.
- The owner is an old Ravenclaw student.
James whisper in your ear with a smile as he sees you look all around you.
- Yeah, I bet he's still very supportive of his house. You giggle and walk further into the library.
James let you look at all the books you want. You're amazed by the covers that move alone like on the newspaper. You're like a child at Christmas, going from a book to the other with heart eyes.
- Oh look this one James, it's talking! You claim happily as you grab his large hand in yours and pull him with you. The boy is a bit surprise but chukle and don't say anything, let his hand where it is in your hold.
- Oh Merlin, this one looks so cool... You mumble in owe.
- It is, I've read it several times. James informs you with a tender smile. You raise your eyebrows.
- You read it? Many times? You ask dumbfounded. The book was big, like really big.
- Yeah brainless athletes also read, nerdy. He replies you playfully. You giggle and shake your head amused.
- You know I don't actually think you're dumb. You admit softly with the sweetest and more genuine smile he ever seen in seventeen years.
- I know don't worry. He smiles back as he takes a step toward you. And you know... I could teach you how to play Quidditch. He says with a little smirk.
- Oh god no, never.
- Ah you'll see, one day I will put you on one of those broomstick, nerdy. He chuckles.
Everyone in the school that knew you a bit was surprise to see a nerd like you becomming close to James Potter. Of course James didn't care at all. On the opposite he thought you were pretty cool. Maybe even more than just cool.
- What a shame. You hear a low voice behind you as you walk next to James in Hogsmeade. You turn to meet a tall and thin frame with a green tie.
- What did you say Snape? You ask a bit more harshly than you should have. James turn aswell, stop in his track.
- I just think it's a shame you waste your smart mind with those...
- Oh you better not finish this sentence. You warn the Slytherin boy with a deep frown.
- You heard the girl Snevillus. James say and you can hear the smirk in his voice. You feel his arm snaking around your shoulders in a supportive gesture.
Snape click his tongue and narrow his eyes at the two of you before walking away, his eyes throwing thunder. As soon as he leaves James turn to you with a big smile.
- You're incredible!
You giggle at the praise. James squeeze your shoulders and pull you with him as he walks down, keeping you close.
- Let's get you an ice cream as a reward, yeah?
- Can we go to the library after?
- Sure nerdy. James chuckle and ruffle your hair playfully.
As the weeks passed James grew very fond of you, you almost spend more time with him than with Remus. You two would go to 'Birdy&co' almost every week. He will walk you to class, holding your book and staying with you in Hogwarts' library until late at night. You would even help him study for his exams and come to his Quidditch match.
One night as you were asleep in your bed, James was staying with Remus in the Griffindor common room.
- Moony? James repeated for the fourth time.
The werewolf sigh throught the nose as he put his book the coffee table in front of the fireplace of the common room.
- Yes, James?
- Can I ask you a completly selfless question my baby bestie Moony? The boy asked with puppy eyes as he sits up on the loveseat.
- Go ahead. M'not assuring you'll have an answer though.
- Do you know if, maybe, by pure coincidence, Y/N might have hum, how do you call that again? Oh yeah... a crush on a boy?
- What?
- Maybe a girl then?
The glasses boy asks, his cheeks a bit rosy. He was looking all around the room, his legs moving fast.
- Prongs are you nervous? Remus frown confused. He had never seen his friend like that.
- What? No, m'not nervous. He scratch the back oh his neck. Just answer, please. James said his last words with a desesperate expression as he lean forward in the loveseat, his elbows resting on his knees and his hands fidgeting. Remus narrow his eyes at the boy before biting his lips to hold a grin.
- James Fleamont Potter.
James made a little strangle noise, avoiding his friend gaze almost comically.
- Do you have a crush on our friend? Remus ask with a smirk.
- Gosh you made it sound like a kill someone... James mumble with a fake annoyed tone. It's not as if I had fucked Sirius' little brother.
Remus let out a rather loud and mocking chuckle. He pass a hand on his scared face.
- Oh my poor friend, you don't know what you've got yourself into with her.
The werewolf says dramatically as he gets up from the red armchair and pass throught his friend who's sat dumbfounded. His put a hand his shoulder, looking down at hims a half amused and half sympathic smile.
- Good luck Prongs. And... yes she might have a crush on someone.
Remus winks and smirk before making his way to the shared dorm, James' eyes light up with joy.
The very next day you had to meet James at Hogsmeade like usual. You found him nervously pacing in front of the Three Broomsticks.
- Hey Jamie, everything's fine?
Apprently he hadn't seen you since he jumps at the sound of your voice. It makes you both giggle and frown, slightly worried.
- Y/N, hey. Yeah everything's okay.
- You sure? You're acting strangely.
You tell him as he leads you to the 'Birdy&co' library where you always go.
- Yeah yeah, just hum... stress for tomorrow's match is all.
- Oh you shouldn't Jamie, everyone knows you'll do your best.
You bump your elbow with his in a reassuring gesture as you give him a soft smile. He glances at you and quickly look away, scratching the back of his head.
- Yeah you're probably right.
- M'always right. You giggle with a little smirk as James hold the library's door for you. You thank him and step in what had become one of your favorite place.
The glasses boy chuckle and shake his head as he follows you closely. You're looking all around you, searching for interesting new book to read.
- What are you looking for today? James ask, burrying his hands deep into his pockets.
- I don't know yet, maybe something different for once.
- What about romance?
You hear his voice closer than earlier, the heat of his body hitting your back. You can feel your heartbeat suddenly raising a bit.
- W- why not. You stutter and intenally slap yourself.
- Yeah? You have someone in mind those days nerdy? He asks as he steps to your side, his brown eyes looking into yours intensely.
- Hum yes, no, why are you asking? You walk pass him, feeling your cheeks warming.
- Oh nothing, just wondering. You never talk a lot about your feelings.
- I talk about my feelings. You reply back with a little frown.
- Really? Talk then. James smirk playfully. You look away, chewing on your lips.
- I'll go first then, you're important for me darling. I like you. A lot. James raise his eyebrows as he take a step toward you. You stare at his eyes, your face red.
- I- I like you too. You're a very good friend. You mumble embarrassed.
- Friend huh?
You nod and look away, acting like you were studying the books on the shelf beside you.
- What if I say I like you?
- You already said that.
- What if I say I love you then.
You stop in your track, your heart pumping into your ear loudly.
- Are you saying it or do you think it? You ask, your voice suddenly weaker as you stay with your back turn to him.
- Believe me darling, I think it all...
James is closer, his breath brushing your cheek from behind. You try to compose yourself but your mind is racing infernally.
- If this is a prank, it's the least funny you've ever done. You whisper softly.
- I'd never do that to you darling.
You turn toward him, gasping silently when you realize how close he is from you. His tall frame is towering you as his eyes look into yours so deeply, you'd think he's analysing your soul. Eventually, being so speechless you just gently grab the collar of his jumper and pull him to you. Your lips collapse softly in an bashful and wondering kiss.
- I love you too Jamie. You mumble against his lips and James pull you into another kiss. He places his hands on your cheeks, deepening the kiss.

Hey!! Could you do one where Sirius and reader were dating during hogwarts but they broke up after harry was born but they were already his godparents. After James and Lily die, Sirius doesn’t go to Azkaban so they have to reunite to take care and raise Harry.
hi love, thank you for sending in the request. it's a great idea, and could have been longer than what i have written to be honest, but i was running short on time. i still hope you like it <3
maroon;
pairing- sirius black x reader warning(s)- hurt/comfort, drinking, alludes to sexual assault. (let me know if i should add more) a/n- i wanted to write a fic using this song for so long. anon i love you cause i have the perfect opportunity to do that now 👯‍♂️
the slut club
Tumblr media
and I wake with your memory over me that's a real fucking legacy to leave,
you're sure you can still hear his ringing distinctive laughter through the photograph. the photograph you hold has faded away its brightest hue, along with the smile of james potter and his heartbeat. you cradle his almost doppelgänger on your knee if it wasn't for his bright emerald eyes. he sucks on his thumb, while brandishing a twig in thin air. (after you had successfully convinced him it was a wand)
'honey, look, it's your papa,' you say, flashing his father's picture on his eyeline. you wonder if he recalls his features as his grubby fingers grab at the photograph. you wonder if you'd had to introduce his father to him if he weren't dead.
the doorknob clicks. the footsteps knocking on the floor are similar but it still sends a wave of coldness through your veins. your jaw tightens.
'i'm so sorry i'm late,' he says running his fingers through his hair. he picks up harry, and places a chaste kiss on his chubby cheek. you get up from the sofa.
'it's okay sirius, he's my godson too,' you say, loosening your tightened jaw. you crack your knuckles.
'buddy where'd you get this...twig?' you hear sirius ask harry. he flashes him a half toothed grin, shoving the twig in his ear.
'hey, hey no,' sirius scrunches his face in pain. you suppress a smile, throwing your coat over your shoulders.
'i convinced him it's a wand. he saw me using it to turn down the blinds and yeah, you know he's just like his father, stubborn,'
'you seen moony?' you ask. remus was the only person you could confide in at that moment. somethings seemed to be overwhelming. swallowing it up would seem like a great idea, but it wasn't. not in the long run. the run hadn't even started and you felt like your joints were rusted, lungs exhausted and heart beating too slowly. perhaps it was the after effects of a lorn tragedy. your breathing palpitated with the way sirius' gray eyes ran over your body.
'he's sulking as usual,' he replied, his mood suddenly in the halt of a shift.
'home?' you ask, your feet jittery.
'hm,'
you're not sure whether it's a tone of disapproval or jealousy. the latter seems dimensionally impossible, so you disapparate, to lupin's house.
*******
your eyes are torn of sleep, the half moon shining stark against the dark sky. the stillness of the night enveloped you, an uncomfortable warmth surrounding you. the night seemed stuffy, a prison of your thoughts. it was as if a weight of restlessness settled upon your bones, your mind and body battling to fall into a slumber. the darkness thundered a dance of troubled thoughts, which instead of providing solace was a battle against the dreams that awaited you on the other spectrum of sleep.
it's thud against your door. is it the wind? you search for your wand, and slowly whisper,
'lumos,'
the tip of your light enlightens into a beautiful solemn blue. you curl your toes, walking down the hallway. your voice is sore, dry and cracked when you speak, pressing your ear against the wood of the door.
'wh-who is it?'
'it's me, sirius.'
your hand wraps itself around the doorknob as your turn it, around, unlocking the door. it's not the first time he showed up at your house in the middle of the night. last time, when he came in he was drunk and red-eyed, searching for a bestowed comfort. while it wouldn't have mattered if it was someone else, it felt so wrong back then. he'd hugged you tight, your ribs almost breaking from the pressure. it made you reminisce of the days when he'd hug you, whispering i love you's in your ear. it made you reminisce of the days when he'd tickle you and you'd laugh till your ribs hurt. you remembered how he'd reeked of alcohol and tobacco, so unlike yet like him.
he stands there before you, his nose dripping blood, tears staining his cheeks. you stare at him hollow-eyed, your heart bleeding with an urge to hold him. but it seems like you're stuck, as if your blood is frozen, your senses too numb. he stammers, walking towards you. he smells like a flowery scent infused with the stench of beer. his words are broken when he speaks into your hair, his arms dropping on your body.
your lips are dry as your arms close around his shaking body.
'who did this to you?' you whisper. you feel his heartbeat beating against yours. his slows it's pace and yours picks up the pace as he lets the cruel words out of his mouth, offering you a broken story.
'this-this girl, she groped me when i was dancing with her. i thought it was by mistake a-at first, but-'
he breaks down, his sobs shattering every shard of your broken heart.
'it's fine, we'll get you a warm bath,' you whisper, slowly running your fingers down his spine. it's as if by instinct, or maybe old habit, you kiss his shoulder.
'i-i miss you.' he says.
'i'm right here,'
'no, i miss us.'
'sirius?'
he looks at you with an utmost expression of genuine love and it scares you. his gray eyes almost absorb your soul. it's as if your heart beats maniacally against your ribcage, while he captivates you. he feels like the perfect muse for your poems. he feels like the last bite of your cornetto. he feels like home.
he feels like he's yours.
you're scared. maybe the incarnations were roses after all.

All this anti-Remus talk is making me like him even more 😂
I love that he’s a character who is so fixated on image and how he comes off. He’s such a cold person! Detached! Won’t form close bonds! Like…his loving parents fucked him up by keeping him away from all other children until Hogwarts. I love how this plays into his character again and again and again.
I put the rest under the cut because it gets a bit tangential, but whatever, I was feeling a bit heated.
I feel like Remus doesn’t actually know how to make friends—he has let everyone come to him. James and Sirius formed their little group, and Remus has always been in awe of what friends will do FOR him. What did Remus do for his friends? Maybe Remus learns how to accept love, but he is not very good at giving it back.
It’s so interesting to me that Remus doesn’t become Harry’s go-to even after they spent hours together. Harry allows Remus to see his most vulnerable side, and Remus doesn’t reciprocate even after the truth comes out. At the very least, he could write Harry. He could visit Harry in the summer.
But I actually LOVE this about Remus. I love that he’s written as a warm, inviting sort of person when he’s actually someone who is terrified of forming close bonds. No one is allowed to see the real Lupin, and once someone has seen a part of himself he doesn’t like, he immediately detaches himself and disappears. Remus wants to appear in control of himself because he is concerned more about his image than doing the right thing. At the end of PoA, I’m sure he’s upset that he nearly killed Harry and co, obviously, but more importantly, he’s embarrassed that he lost control. If he really cared about the safety of students, he would have revealed Sirius’s disguise to Dumbledore as soon as Sirius escaped Azkaban.
The point of his character is “what you see on the surface is not necessarily what lies below.” It’s one of the most salient themes of PoA.
Anyway, it’s uncomfortable! So many people want to make Remus a “model of marginalization - who, depending on the fanon, falls on one end of the spectrum which is “ohhhh poor disabled guy :((( he can’t do anything because he’s a pathetic baby” or “look how hot and tall and rational and intelligent he is despite his poverty/disability!!!!”
It’s SO INFANTILIZING. I don’t think Remus is a bad guy or a good guy—I think that his particularly negative character traits are a result of prejudice towards his condition, his upbringing, and his internalized prejudice towards werewolves. So I am not saying he’s a complete asshole. Obviously. My point, though, is that he has friends who support him in school, particularly James, who break the law and risk torture prison (and bodily harm from a werewolf) to support him.* And Remus…he does not do much to reciprocate that sort of love. The very least he can do for James is to check in on Harry (he doesn’t even need to say hi—just literally see that he’s ok!). James risked his life for Remus, and Remus won’t risk Dumbledore’s disapproval to reciprocate.
He continually does the LEAST for Harry. Harry has to beg him to teach him the Patronus Charm. And when Harry is clearly craving his parents’ voices as they’re dying, Remus doesn’t even offer a nugget of “ohhhh, gosh, Harry, let’s give you some good stories about your dad, ok?”
This is a cold, broken man who has convinced himself that being alone is safe because you can never be rejected. This is Remus’s greatest fear. He’s the teacher that needs to be liked but he hides behind professionalism when it suits him. His “nice guy” traits are a fucking ACT. I want people to explore more about his negative traits! He blames his condition when people get too close, and when people manage to climb his walls to try to get close to him, he pushes them away.
Chronic illness does not make you a good person—it just makes life harder. Remus accepts love and support from his friends—and yes, they SHOULD give him love and support because this is what we owe each other, but Remus also owes his friends love and support. It’ll look different from how James, Sirius, and Peter can support him, but you don’t get to just take from your friends without giving back. Your friends are not there to be your mommy. Sometimes, you’ll go through periods where your friends are holding you up and you just need to accept that they don’t resent you for it, but if you’re willing to accept help, you’d better be willing to return it later. As someone who has a few people in their life who take and take and give little in return, I can tell you, it starts to feel like your only purpose is to carry them on your shoulders. And man, it’s fucking exhausting. Sometimes I need to be carried too.
I have no idea how Remus behaved at Hogwarts regarding his friends on a day to day basis because Harry never sees evidence of this, but we see him as an adult who is unwilling to support his friend’s orphaned kid in ANY meaningful way…unless Harry begs him. In the end, Remus is still an autonomous adult and Harry is a child in need. In this situation, at the bare minimum, Remus has the power to pick up a pen and write.
So why don’t we see this more in fic? You all know I’m a Sirius stan, but I am CONSTANTLY critiquing Sirius’s relationship with masculinity. Sirius is my favorite character, and I LOVE exploring the uncomfortable parts of him—he’s cold when he perceives that he has been emasculated, even belittling Harry when he’s insulted. He’ll put himself in danger to protect Harry when all Harry really wants is for Sirius to be there for him (which Sirius can’t do in OotP). These are the bits that make me queasy—and I love exploring them!
Why not explore the ugly parts of Remus? You say you want interesting, well-rounded characters with chronic illness/disabilities/neurodivergence? Then let them be interesting. Make them complicated and embrace the icky parts of them. If you want, explore how society has created a cold, sad, wet noodle Remus and then GIVE HIM A PATH TO GROWTH. Like… if you don’t like these parts, give him scenarios so he can grow and become a better person.
Anyway, stop fucking throwing around words like “ableism” when you hear something you don’t like about a character. You don’t know the real person behind their username. Most of us here have some sort of disability/neurodivergence/chronic illness, etc, so stop fucking assuming we’re Chad Abled-Bodied or Karen Neurotypical, ffs.
It’s fucking insulting and infantilizing that we can’t discuss complexity in characters who are marginalized in their society. By excusing all of their less than cute actions, you’re essentially saying, “This is not a full human being with a full range of emotion and flaws—they are a perfect little baby who doesn’t deserve reproach, who can do whatever he wants!”
But that’s just me, I guess.
* (Also, side note, Moony the werewolf could have very well killed any one of them. Additionally, the theory that Moony couldn’t hurt them in Animagus form was ONLY A THEORY. It might not have worked at ALL and they risked their lives to test it.)

Beneath the Bet: A Love Unspoken
Tumblr media
(picture taken from pinterest)
Pairing - Sirius Black x Female Reader
Glimpse - “But if you hurt me,” she added, her tone light but laced with a warning, “I’ll kill you.”
Sirius laughed, the sound full of genuine warmth. “Fair enough, love. Fair enough.”
Summary - Sirius Black, the notorious heartthrob of Hogwarts, takes on a bet to win over Y/N, a sassy, nerdy Gryffindor who’s never fallen for his charms. What starts as a game quickly turns real when Sirius finds himself falling for her. But just as Y/N begins to trust him, a whispered secret about the bet shatters everything. Now, with her heart broken and Sirius desperate to make things right, the truth comes out... but is it already too late?
**
The Great Hall was buzzing with its usual energy, filled with students chatting, laughing, and eating, while the enchanted ceiling mimicked the perfect autumn sky above. Y/N sat among her friends at the Gryffindor table, a book resting in front of her as she half-listened to their conversation. Though her mind was occupied by her studies, she was always ready to chime in with a sarcastic remark or a witty quip. She was a social person, known for her loud, confident voice, and her tendency to speak her mind.
She was also a nerd—unashamedly so. Her love for books and academics hadn’t gone unnoticed over the years, but she never let it stop her from being outgoing or from enjoying life at Hogwarts. Most people knew her, not because she was trying to stand out, but because she was unapologetically herself.
From across the Hall, Sirius Black leaned casually against the back of his seat, his gray eyes focused on Y/N, who was engaged in some animated debate with her friends. It wasn’t the first time Sirius had noticed her—hell, she had been around since their first year—but there was something about her lately that kept catching his eye. Maybe it was her quick wit. Maybe it was her confidence. Or maybe, Sirius thought with a grin, it was the fact that she didn’t seem to care about his usual charm.
“Oi, Pads,” James interrupted, elbowing Sirius in the ribs. “You’re staring again.”
Sirius blinked and tore his gaze away from Y/N, trying to look nonchalant. “What? No, I wasn’t.”
James snickered, adjusting his glasses. “Sure you weren’t. I’ve seen you look at plenty of girls before, but you’ve got a thing for Y/N, don’t you?”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Sirius shot back, though his grin was still in place. “She’s just... interesting.”
Remus, who had been quietly reading beside them, looked up. “Interesting how? Because she doesn’t fall for your usual tricks?”
Sirius scowled good-naturedly. “I don’t have ‘tricks,’ thank you very much.”
“Mate, you’ve been trying the same moves since second year,” James teased. “You flash a grin, call them ‘love,’ and they’re all over you.”
Sirius shrugged, unbothered. “It works, doesn’t it?”
But Y/N, as Sirius had learned, wasn’t so easily charmed. Over the past few weeks, he’d thrown a few flirtatious comments her way, testing the waters, only to be met with either polite indifference or a sharp, sarcastic response. And somehow, instead of being discouraged, it only made him want to try harder.
James, ever the instigator, suddenly leaned in with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “You know what, Pads? I bet you can’t get Y/N to go out with you.”
Sirius raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “A bet, huh?”
James nodded, his smirk widening. “By the end of the month. If you can convince her to go out with you, you can take my Firebolt for a spin.”
Sirius’s expression shifted to one of excitement. “Your Firebolt?”
James shrugged. “If you fail, though, you’ve got to write Snape a love letter and leave it on his desk.”
Remus winced, looking up from his book. “Merlin, that’s cruel.”
Sirius didn’t hesitate. “Deal.”
From that day forward, Sirius Black had made it his mission to get Y/N’s attention. At every opportunity, he was there—flashing her one of his trademark smiles, throwing in flirtatious comments, even going so far as to publicly kneel in the middle of the Great Hall and loudly proclaim his love for her. Each time, Y/N would roll her eyes, or simply laugh it off, much to the amusement of her friends and the rest of Gryffindor House.
“Alright, Black, what is it this time?” Y/N asked one day after Sirius had cornered her in the hallway between classes, grinning like a cat who had just caught a mouse.
“Nothing much,” he said casually, though his tone was anything but innocent. “Just thought I’d remind you how breathtaking you are.”
Y/N’s lips twitched, clearly amused. “And I thought I’d remind you that I’m not interested.”
Sirius placed a hand over his heart, feigning deep injury. “You wound me, love.”
“Oh, you’ll survive,” Y/N quipped, brushing past him.
For the next few weeks, Sirius’s advances continued, much to the amusement of their classmates. Though Y/N remained unimpressed—or at least, she acted like it—there was a part of her that couldn’t help but feel a little flattered by his attention. It wasn’t that she was immune to Sirius’s charms, but she knew his reputation all too well. He was a notorious flirt, never serious about anyone, always moving on to the next girl before anyone could get too close. And Y/N had no interest in becoming just another name on his list.
That, and there was something else. Something deeper that tugged at her when she saw him smiling at her or calling her “love” in that playful tone. It was confusing, and Y/N wasn’t sure what to make of it.
Her friends, of course, were loving every minute of it.
“You should just say yes,” one of her friends suggested one evening as they lounged in the common room. “It’s obvious he likes you.”
“He doesn’t like me,” Y/N said, shaking her head. “He’s just bored. He’s probably got a bet going with James or something.”
Her friend raised an eyebrow. “And what if he does? Doesn’t mean he can’t actually like you.”
Y/N sighed, leaning back against the couch. “I don’t know. He’s... Sirius. He’s a player. What if I say yes and he gets bored of me in a week?”
Her friend gave her a sympathetic smile. “I guess you won’t know unless you take the chance.”
Sirius, on the other hand, had started to realise something as the days passed. It had started as a bet, sure, but the more he pursued Y/N, the more he found himself genuinely interested in her. She wasn’t like the other girls he’d dated—not because she was different or special in some cliché way, but because she didn’t care about his reputation. She didn’t care that he was Sirius Black, the Marauder, the playboy. She saw through the façade, and that was something no one else had ever bothered to do.
One evening, after a particularly eventful day of Quidditch practice, Sirius found himself sitting in the common room, staring into the fire as he thought about Y/N. It was getting harder to ignore the nagging feeling in his chest every time she laughed or brushed him off with one of her sarcastic comments. He had never had to work this hard before, and the fact that he wasn’t giving up only confirmed what he had been trying to deny.
He liked her. For real.
And that realization terrified him.
It was just before the end of the month when Sirius finally made his move. He had waited for the perfect moment—when Y/N was alone, walking back to the common room after a late study session in the library.
“Y/N,” he called, jogging to catch up with her.
She glanced over her shoulder, clearly surprised. “Sirius? What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to talk to you,” he said, his usual playful tone replaced by something more serious.
Y/N stopped, turning to face him fully. “Alright, talk.”
Sirius took a deep breath, running a hand through his hair. “Look, I know I’ve been messing around a lot. And I know you think I’m just doing this for fun, but I’m not. I really like you, Y/N. And I want to prove it.”
Y/N’s eyes widened slightly, taken aback by his sincerity. She had expected another playful remark, another attempt at flirting, but this... this was different.
“Sirius... I don’t know,” she began, crossing her arms over her chest. “You have a reputation.”
“I know,” he said quickly. “And I get why you’d be hesitant. But I’m serious about this. About you.”
Y/N hesitated, her mind racing. Part of her wanted to say yes—to take the chance and see if he was being truthful. But another part of her was still scared. Scared of being hurt, of being just another name on his list of conquests.
After what felt like an eternity, Y/N finally spoke. “Alright, Black. I’ll go out with you.”
Sirius’s face lit up, but Y/N held up a hand, stopping him.
“But if you hurt me,” she added, her tone light but laced with a warning, “I’ll kill you.”
Sirius laughed, the sound full of genuine warmth. “Fair enough, love. Fair enough.”
And with that, their relationship began.
For the first time in his life, Sirius found himself genuinely invested in a relationship. It was no longer just about winning the bet, or impressing James, or upholding the carefree persona he’d always carried. Being with Y/N was different. She wasn’t someone who swooned at his flirtatious comments, or who melted at his grins. She challenged him, teased him, made him think. And for some strange reason, that made him want to be better for her.
At first, their relationship was lighthearted. Y/N was cautious, but Sirius was persistent, showing her bits of his personality that no one else ever really saw. He showed her his vulnerable side, the side that wasn’t always laughing and carefree, and slowly, Y/N’s walls started to come down.
They spent late nights together in the common room, Y/N tutoring him in subjects he never bothered to care about before, or Sirius making her laugh with ridiculous impressions of their professors. They snuck out past curfew to go flying under the stars, Sirius teaching her how to perfect her broom skills. He took her to Hogsmeade, where they spent afternoons wandering the village, holding hands and talking about everything and nothing at the same time.
Y/N found herself falling for him, even though she had promised herself she wouldn’t. She had been wary at first, scared that he was just playing with her, that it was all part of some elaborate joke. But the more time she spent with him, the more she realized that Sirius wasn’t the player she had always thought he was. He cared about her. He made her feel special, in a way that no one else ever had.
And that scared her.
Weeks passed, and their relationship grew stronger. Sirius had long since forgotten about the bet—James hadn’t brought it up in a while, and Sirius didn’t care to remind him. What started as a challenge had turned into something real, something that made Sirius feel... different.
But it wasn’t long before cracks started to form.
Y/N was happy—happier than she had been in a long time—but there was always a lingering doubt in the back of her mind. She couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that this was too good to be true, that eventually, Sirius would get bored and move on. After all, he had done it with so many other girls before her. Why would she be any different?
And then came the whispers.
It started innocently enough—girls giggling in the corridors, casting glances at Y/N and Sirius whenever they passed. Y/N ignored it at first, brushing it off as jealousy or idle gossip. But then, one afternoon, she overheard something that made her blood run cold.
“So, have you heard about the bet?”
“What bet?”
“The one between Sirius and James. Apparently, Sirius is just trying to get Y/N to fall for him to win.”
Y/N froze, her heart pounding in her chest. She felt like the ground had just been pulled out from under her. A bet? Is that what this had all been about? Was everything Sirius had said, everything they had shared, just a game to him?
She felt sick. Her mind raced, replaying every conversation, every smile, every moment they had spent together. Had it all been a lie? Had he just been using her to win some stupid bet with his friends?
Y/N didn’t confront him. She didn’t say a word. Instead, she pulled away. Slowly, subtly, she started to distance herself from him. She stopped waiting for him after classes, stopped sitting next to him in the common room, stopped laughing at his jokes. Whenever he tried to talk to her, she found an excuse to leave. And Sirius, confused and hurt by her sudden coldness, didn’t know what he had done wrong.
He tried to ask her to figure out what had changed, but Y/N was guarded, her walls firmly back in place. She had let herself be vulnerable with him, and now she felt like a fool for doing so.
It had been a week since Y/N started ignoring him, and Sirius was at his wit's end. He didn’t understand what had happened. Everything had been going so well—he had been falling for her, truly falling—and now she wouldn’t even look at him.
One evening, after dinner, Sirius stormed into the Gryffindor common room, his frustration finally boiling over. He spotted Y/N sitting by the fire, her nose buried in a book, and without thinking, he marched over to her.
“Y/N,” he said, his voice laced with anger and confusion. “What the hell is going on?”
Y/N glanced up, her expression unreadable. “What do you mean?”
Sirius ran a hand through his hair, pacing in front of her. “You’ve been ignoring me for a week. You won’t talk to me, you won’t look at me, and I have no idea why.”
She closed her book, her eyes meeting his with a coldness that made his heart sink. “Why do you care, Sirius? You got what you wanted, didn’t you?”
Sirius frowned, his confusion deepening. “What are you talking about?”
Y/N stood up, crossing her arms over her chest. “The bet, Sirius. The one you made with James. You won. Congratulations.”
Sirius’s heart stopped. “What—no. Y/N, that’s not...”
“Don’t lie to me,” Y/N snapped, her voice shaking with anger and hurt. “I heard about it. This was all just a game to you, wasn’t it? You were just trying to win some stupid bet, and I was the idiot who fell for it.”
Sirius shook his head, his chest tight with panic. “Y/N, it wasn’t like that. It started as a bet, yeah, but—”
“But what?” Y/N interrupted, her voice rising. “You didn’t think I’d find out? You didn’t think it would hurt me?”
Sirius took a step forward, desperation in his eyes. “Y/N, please. I swear, it wasn’t about the bet anymore. I called it off. I didn’t care about it. I care about you.”
Y/N laughed bitterly, tears welling up in her eyes. “Yeah, right. You’re Sirius Black. You don’t care about anyone but yourself.”
Her words cut deep, and Sirius flinched, but he didn’t back down. “That’s not true. Y/N, I care about you more than anyone. I’ve never felt like this before. You’ve got to believe me.”
But Y/N was shaking her head, tears streaming down her face now. “I can’t. I can’t trust you, Sirius. How do I know you’re not just playing me again?”
Sirius’s heart broke at the sight of her tears, and he reached out, gently cupping her face in his hands. “Because I’m not,” he whispered, his voice raw with emotion. “I love you, Y/N. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen, but I do. I love you.”
Y/N froze, her breath catching in her throat. She wanted to believe him—God, she wanted to—but the pain of the betrayal was too fresh, too raw.
Sirius’s hands fell away, and he took a step back, his expression crumbling. “I’m sorry,” he whispered, his voice thick with regret. “I’m so sorry, Y/N. I never meant to hurt you. I just... I just wanted to be with you.”
Y/N wiped away her tears, her heart aching. She didn’t know what to say, didn’t know if she could forgive him. So she said nothing, and with one last heartbroken look, Sirius turned and walked away, leaving her standing there, her heart shattered.
For the next few days, Y/N felt like she was walking around in a fog. She couldn’t focus on her classes, couldn’t concentrate on her studies. All she could think about was Sirius—his words, his apology, the look of pain in his eyes when he had told her he loved her.
Part of her wanted to run after him, to tell him she forgave him, that she loved him too. But another part of her—the part that had been hurt, the part that had been lied to—couldn’t bring herself to do it.
It wasn’t until a few days later, when she overheard a conversation between James and Remus, that everything finally clicked into place.
“I can’t believe you didn’t say anything,” Remus was saying. “Sirius has been miserable.”
James sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I know. I didn’t think she’d find out. And now he’s in pieces.”
Y/N’s heart skipped a beat as she crept closer, straining to hear.
“Do you think she’ll ever forgive him?” Remus asked quietly.
“I don’t know,” James replied. “But I do know one thing—Sirius didn’t care about the bet. He hasn’t cared about it for weeks. All he cares about is her.”
Y/N’s breath caught in her throat, and she felt a fresh wave of guilt wash over her. Maybe she had been wrong. Maybe Sirius had been telling the truth. Maybe, just maybe, he really did love her.
Without thinking, Y/N turned on her heel and ran. She didn’t know where Sirius was, but she had to find him. She had to tell him that she was sorry, that she believed him.
She found him sitting by the Black Lake, his head in his hands, staring out at the water. He looked so lost, so broken, that Y/N’s heart ached for him.
“Sirius,” she whispered, stepping closer.
He looked up, his eyes widening in surprise. “Y/N...”
“I’m sorry,” she said quickly, tears welling up in her eyes. “I’m so sorry. I should have believed you. I should have trusted you. I... I love you too.”
Sirius stared at her, his breath catching in his throat. “You... you do?”
Y/N nodded, wiping away her tears with the back of her hand. “I do. I was scared, and I didn’t know if I could trust you, but... I love you, Sirius.”
In an instant, Sirius was on his feet, closing the distance between them. He cupped her face in his hands, his forehead resting against hers, and for the first time in days, he smiled.
“I love you too,” he whispered, his voice filled with relief.

Inconspicuous and Warm
A little fluffy first date for @jilytoberfest Day 5, prompt “Get the car packed, throw me the keys. Run away with me.”
We love when James is a cute sappy idiot~ AO3 link here!
Wear something inconspicuous and warm.
-J
Marlene looked at the note, turning it around as though new words would appear from a different angle.
“Any thoughts?”
“Yeah, you’re going on a date with a nutter.”
Lily sat on her bed. She had been in a state of dressing and undressing for the past half hour, nearly trying on everything in her trunk that would be remotely considered either of the two adjectives written on the piece of paper.
Lily threw another jumper into the heap of clothes on the floor. “It’s like he is trying to mess with me or something–”
“And what? Sabotage his own date? I mean, you have seen him since you said yes right? The bloke practically has heaven’s light bursting out of his ears he's so chuffed.”
Lily moved to the ground looking at all of her discarded clothing, feeling defeated. It felt so good to say yes to him, to watch his face completely twist into joy from the word, she couldn’t turn back now.
She dug her hand through the pile and pulled out a muggle dress she usually only saved for holidays at home. Pulling it over her head, she lifted her arms to Marlene in an indulgent shrug.
“I think it’s as inconspicuous and warm as it’s going to get.”
Merlene nodded.“He’s going to piss himself when he sees you in that.”
******
Marlene wasn’t too far off. As she approached him in front of the great hall, his eyes turned wide and glassy, like he was set in front of a moving piece of art.
“You look incredible–”
“Thanks. You look—like a muggle.”
It wasn’t completely out of the ordinary to see James in a muggle shirt, but today he was in full regalia, complete with brown suede jacket that Lily knew was currently the rage in muggle circles.
“Remus helped me—though he didn’t love being my personal shopper.”
His eyes shifted from one side to the other, a hand twitched up to his hair and curled through the front strands before contracting in realization and falling back down to his side.
“You look good too–I’ll make sure to thank Remus for his efforts.”
“Yeah?”
His eyes twinkled up at her, lips twisting into a grin. Lily felt her face flush again. He really did look good–so good in fact that she wondered if they could just call off the outing portion all together and cozy up near the common room fire….
“C’mon Potter,” she said, abandoning her own thought before getting too caught up, “time to go be inconspicuous and warm somewhere.”
James barked out a laugh but was clipped short by the sight of Lily’s outstretched hand. He carefully reached out and threaded their fingers together, a paragon of happiness.
“Wow—I’ve always wanted to do this.” He kept looking down at their interlaced hands which hovered between them.
Lily snorted, pulling him along into the crowds of students bustling towards Hogsmeade. His hand felt warm in hers, calloused but strong. He gave her a quick squeeze, almost like he was reminding himself that she was real flesh and blood beside him. With any other bloke it would have been annoying, but that was the unnerving part about him, he made everything bearable.
“Woah, Evans, where do you think you’re going?”
James tugged her hand back as she continued to walk where the main doors and the stone path to Hogsmeade village began. Lily stopped, watching the throngs of students weave past them like an endless stream.
“Uh, Hogsmeade? You know, the place you have asked me to go on a date with you since fifth year?”
“C’mon Evans, that’s not original!”
She gave him a scrutinizing glance. He was being serious. Maybe they were just going to bum around the castle—
James pulled her towards the diverging path towards the main gates. It was rare to ever go back to the main entrance unless leaving for school holidays. The path empty, Lily walked at a reluctant pace while James ushered her onwards, face growing ruddy by the cold wind coming off the lake.
“James, if this involves any sort of rule breaking–”
“Indulge me.”
She snorted. “Something tells me this isn’t going to be the last time I hear you say that.”
James cocked his head to the side, flashing a cheeky grin. “Are you implying that there will be more dates after this one?”
“Depends on what kind of rule breaking we are doing,” she quipped.
“The kind you will like–I hope.”
They crossed past the lake and into the small wooded area that lined the barrier of the main gate. As the stone structure approached, James fished into his pockets, pulling out a hefty set of keys that seemed too bulky to be easily hidden in his jacket.
“Don’t be angry–I nicked them from Filch, but I promise to give them back.”
He looked sheepish as Lily gave him a warning glare.
“Please, Lily–”
“Go on with it then, we are already here.”
He dropped her hand to search through the keys. With his hand gone, the cold rushed into her palm and she missed the comfort it brought to have a part of him against her. She realized that it had been keeping her stable, staving off the nerves that now rushed back into her stomach.
The gate clicked open. James tucked the keys back into his jacket, then reached back for her hand. Warmth spread into her at the reconnection.
Now officially off Hogwarts grounds, James stalled in front of the gate and air of nervousness shrouded him again.
“Right–so. Before we get on with it I wanted to tell you something–”
She could feel his hand quivering in hers and she instinctively reached out her other arm to grasp onto his shoulder.
“I…really like you Evans.”
She couldn’t help but laugh from the ridiculousness of it all.
“Potter, you didn’t need to break us off of school grounds to tell me that.” His expression didn’t waver.
 “Evans—indulge me.”
“There’s that word again–” Lily teased and James flushed, pouting.
“Ok, sorry, go on—you like me.”
“I like you,” he repeated, “So much. I want to know everything about you.” The wind ruffled some of her hair into her face and James used his free hand to brush it away, thumb lingering against her cheek.
“We’ve spent seven years in this bloody castle together and I still feel like I’m picking up bread crumbs of who you are, but every piece is brilliant.”
Lily felt herself going absolutely red. He was locked in, his gaze unwavering on hers despite the nervousness that jumped in his eyes.
“There’s a whole part of you I don’t even know—but I want to. So, I thought–”
“Please don’t tell me you are proposing to me Potter.”
She was only half kidding. His gaze had been so intense, sincere. But instead of becoming bashful, he took it in stride, squeezing her hand.
“Don’t worry, that comes later,” a grin cut through the nervousness before he continued.
“I’ve wanted to do this for a long time. And it will mean a lot to do it with you.”
She felt his arm wrap around to the small of her back and he pulled her in tightly to his chest. He smelled like spice and woods, like an autumn day that echoed in some far off memory. Despite the nerves, the awkwardness of a first date, the compliance to rule breaking, she would have been perfectly happy if they stayed right there, swaying in the cold air, suspended from the rest of the world.
“You ready?”
He didn’t wait for her to answer. The forest shifted around them, blurring into just refracted beams of color. She closed her eyes to not feel sick, focusing on the rise and fall of his chest.
Noise. Lots of noise. Muggle noise. She took a deep breath, blinked open her eyes. A car rushed past, halting quickly as the light at the end of the block turned red. Men and women in muggle clothes rushed past them, perfectly oblivious to the embracing couple who had appeared just moments ago.
James let her go with the exception of her hand, fingers still threaded from when they first left to the grounds.
“Woah.”
He said it on instinct, like seeing a great wonder of the world. His head darted in all angles, trying to take in everything at once. All the awe that James directed at Muggle London, Lily directed at him. She had known she was a witch for seven years. Lived among friends who knew she was a muggleborn and came back to the muggle world every time she stepped out of school grounds. None of them, none of them, had ever once asked what life was like outside of those walls. Not until now.
“Will you show it to me?” She hadn’t realized he had turned back to her. She could feel tears bubbling in her eyes, but blinked them away.
“Yeah–definitely.”
He smiled, relieved. An excitement buzzed through him. It was infectious, like everything about him.
She pulled him down a side street, falling in step with crowds of muggles continuing their daily lives, hand warm in his. No longer distinguishable from the rest.

is this a prank
poly!marauders
Summary: The marauders are all in a poly relationship with each other and Lily when they all individually become interested in a shy Hufflepuff in their year. What about this little Hufflepuff that makes them all feel complete? Will she return their affections?
Warnings: Poly relationship, mentions of smut, lots of fluff, very shy OC, mentions of child abuse, swearing, kind of a soulmate AU but only really for Remus. let me know if there are any more
part 3
✩₊˚.⋆✩⋆⁺₊✩
Abigail’s POV
Usually, when I slept I would wake up from one of two things; the first being my uncle yelling or more often than not touching some part of my body, the second being a nightmare of one of the punishments I received by his hand. But when I woke from my nap on the Hogwarts Express to find two hands softly caressing me one hand on my back and the other in my hair. I had first believed that my entire encounter with the self-proclaimed marauders was entirely made up. No one had ever been so kind to me and to feel Sirius’ soft lips against mine couldn’t have been real. But their touch, it was different I didn’t feel so disgusted with myself when they touched me. It was like everything my uncle ever did was forgotten and I was a completely new person. I wanted to go right back to sleep and continue my dream of the Gryffindor lovers but something or someone shifted beneath me.
“Good afternoon doll” A voice called out forcing me to slowly open my eyes and look at who was speaking, when I was met with two gray eyes boring right into mine from mere inches away from my own. Startled I jumped back only to be held down by two large hands, only then did I realize I was sitting on James Potter’s lap, THE James Potter was holding me on his lap. What the actual fuck was going on.
“Baby! Finally, you are awake” James told her excitedly as he held me tighter to him and leaned down and kissed the top of my head. I was completely speechless my cheeks burned and I was sure they were bright red as I tried my best to get up. I didn’t want to be on this man's lap and I was extremely confused as to why his literal boyfriend was sitting next to him completely fine as held some random girl to his lap. I understood that I was Remus Lupin’s mate because he was a werewolf but why were his other mates so nice to me? Why are they acting like I’m part of their relationship?
“W-w-why?” I asked it was all I could manage to get out, I wasn’t very used to talking, and Uncle Morfin would punish me when he heard me speak out of turn or ask questions. Just the thought of a punishment made me go rigid and I knew for a fact the boys around me had noticed as tears burned my eyes threatening to fall.
“Shhhh it's okay you are safe” James whispers into my ear as he cocoons himself around me gently pushing my face directly into his chest as he starts to rock me back and forth like a child. After a few moments and more of James’ soft assurances, I had calmed down enough to look back up at him.
“What did you mean why baby?” He asked me trying to decipher the cause of my distress.
“W-why m-me?” I responded in a barely audible voice still not used to being allowed to speak, but these boys had been nothing but kind to me all day and I certainly did not want this to change.
“Whatever could you mean you are our mate!” Sirius exclaimed exasperated that I could not understand the cause for their affection. “Doll, Moony chose you as a mate which automatically makes you our mate as well.” He explained further as if it was obvious. Meaning I did not have one mate but four. How could this happen? How could someone as worthless as me have four mates? This must be some sort of game these Gryffindors play, Yes! That’s it, It's just a prank they must be trying to fool me.
A simple “No” was all I could manage as I attempted to pry myself off the the burly marauders’ lap with no success.
“What do y’mean no? Baby I know this is surprising but we already love you so much.” James  told me as he easily held off my weak fighting, I was still exhausted and this prank was just making it worse. It wasn’t until I yelped in pain when he touched my hip where underneath my clothes lay a particularly nasty bruise did he finally allow me off his lap. Panic evident on both boy’s faces as James began to profusely apologize cleary very upset that he had hurt you. Tears were streaming down my face at this point confusion and pain swirling inside of my head.
“I-I-I just d-don’t understand I-I r-r-really do-d-d-on’t want to b-be a-a-aprat of t-this p-prank” You managed to stutter out, the crying just made it worse as you willed yourself to calm down.
Oh Abby baby! no no no! This isn’t a prank we would never do that. We just want to be with you. Your our mate, our missing piece and we finally found you.” James explained looking as if he himself wanted to cry too. He carefully made his way over to you and was about to wrap his strong arms around you when he froze looking into your eyes af if to ask permission to hold you. And if you were being honest you had liked being in his arm, they were large and strong making you feel safe and warm so you nodded carefully and he immediately scooped you up rocking you gently again.
“Oi you’ve gotten to hold my little doll enough Potter! My Turn!” Sirius interjected jumping up to ease you out of his mate’s arms. Settingly you safely on his lap he began to nuzzle into your neck leaving soft kisses here and there as you allowed a soft giggle to pass your lips. It was at this time that Lily and Remus had decided to make their appearance the prefect meeting having finished.
“Ah my littlest darling how I’ve missed you” Lily said in sing songy voice. As she twirled closer pressing a soft kiss to your cheek she grabbed your hand pulling you to your feet and she told the boys it was time to change into their robes. With he free hand she grabbed both of your bags that held your uniforms and led you to the nearest loo. Handing you your bag she assured you she was only in the next stall over if you needed her. And need her you did, somehow after 4 years of attending hogwarts you still did not know how to tie your tie, but not to worry she told you she made the knot with ease leading you back to the shared compartment.
The rest of the train ride was uneventful as the four marauders passed you around taking turns making you blush or telling you jokes. Upon reaching the great hall they all placed a kiss on your head and made their way to the Gryffindor table as you went and sat at the Hufflepuff table. You missed their undivided attention but one look over towards them only reassured you of their sincerity as they were already looking at you blushing furiously you turned away allowing yourself to breathe

the marauders as color/winter guard performers headcannons
(For the enjoyment of me and the probably one other person on the platform who’s two niche interests somehow overlap)
James:
Section leader during marching season, team captain during winter season
Takes it VERY seriously
Is the reason they have twelve hours of practice a week, but also the reason they score very high
Everyone hates him the second conditioning comes around, constantly yelling at the team (Sirius) to try harder while they’re doing suicides and across the floors at seven in the morning
Rifle prodigy (he cannot stfu about showing off how many rotations he can do)
The overzealous upperclassman that scares off incoming freshmen
Always the one lending money at competitions for food. Also has first aid stuff, electric tape, hand warmers, and just about anything else the team could be in need of packed
Basically Team Mom ™
Mary:
TECHNICALLY co-captain
Her and James are constantly bickering over whether her position is official (“That’s Mary, our FLAG SERGEANT” “WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN”)
She’s much more involved in flag, doesn’t like weapon as much
A good teacher, but brutally honest to anyone she sees as not meeting expectations
Resident playlist-maker, and has dominion over the speaker in the back of the bus
Is constantly critiquing the show design and advocating for aesthetic cohesion (“the rifles would look so much better if the bolts were taped blue, just saying”)
Sirius:
Is good at weapon, more so sabre
Doesn’t like flag as much, but always gets stuck on solos on it because he’s talented
Manages to miss his drill dot EVERY FUCKING TIME by just a little bit and it sends James into rage
Never really knows the counts, but always in time
Manages to look good even in the shittiest of costumes
Trauma dumps and tells wildass stories in the back of the bus on the way back from late night comps
Constant guard terminology sexual innuendo (“Remus, I need you to strip- your silk, Remus, mind out of the gutter 🙄”)
Remus:
He doesn’t know how he got here
Meaning he got dragged into it by Sirius and James
(Mostly James)
Is basically being held hostage because of his skill- that being that he’s a lot stronger than he looks, so he’s good at rifle when he actually tries
Always has some dusty ass beat up novel in his competition duffle (me)
Late to practice or gone often because he has so many other academic commitments lmao
Always covered in bruises from getting whacked by equipment
Competitive only when it comes to Sirius. (Sirius can do a one handed forty five?? Remus can do a DOUBLE one handed forty five)
Lily:
Marching band historian during fall season
Runs the guard’s social media pages
Organizes all team parties
A STICKLER for team traditions, and makes sure they’re continued on each year
Pretty well-rounded, but prefers flag
Like Remus, only truly competitive and spiteful when it comes to James
All the freshmen love her because she’s a good teacher, and she has a special talent of talking just about anyone into auditioning
Always mad about the state of disarray in the guard room
Peter:
Like Remus, isn’t sure how he ended up here
Isn’t really that great at anything, but he tries real hard
Plays trumpet or smth during marching season lmao
And somehow ended up in guard by peer pressure and a crippling fear of being left out
Marlene:
Weapon NERD
And honestly all around guard nerd
Is almost as enthusiastic as James
She even did baton for a short period of time for fun
Is one of those people who can just whip rifle around in that effortless way (you know the type of person I’m talking about)
Constantly coming to James with feedback about choreography, and they’re always either getting along very well or at odds
Definitely on her way to DCI
Resident makeup helper (she can do a mean cat eye, even on a highway in a school bus)
Maybe at some point I’ll do the skittles or other various characters lol but for now I’m imagining just the in-universe Gryffindors/marauders as one team haha

"No, I haven't seen him" Remus faked a smile.
The girl's face showed pure disappointment. Remus related to her suffering. In some sort of bizarre way, they were very similar.
"Well, if you see him though, would you let him know I am looking for him?"
You and other two girls. Remus thought.
"Of course"
"Thanks" the girl pursed her lips. What was her name again?
Poor one. It was exhausting to fancy someone like Sirius Black. A boy who couldn't love anyone back. Remus would know.
Only when whatever-her-name-was was gone, Remus hit his friend's head.
"Ouch, Moony!" So Sirius came out from under the table.
"If I have to lie in a poor girl's face once more, I am going to kill you" Remus said as Sirius came took a seat beside him.
Sirius grinned. God, he was so gorgeous. Add Remus to the list of pathetic people that pinned for this arsehole's beautiful looks.
"Why do you snog these girls if you are going to ghost them after, ha?" Remus asked trying to sound casual and not jealous at all.
"Fun" Sirius shrugged.
Remus hit his shoulder with one of his books.
Sirius laughed "I'm kidding, kidding!" he said as he covered himself "Honestly, Moony. I tell them from the beginning I am not looking for anything serious and they get their hopes up anyway" he shrugged "What can I say?"
Of course Sirius was afraid to commitment. No one could have him for real. He was a beautiful force that no one could grasp between their hands. Worse Remus who was practically no one. He was just lucky to be considered Sirius’s friend.
Remus tutted and shook his head "You're going to leave a lot of broken hearts behind like that"
Sirius simply shrugged again. "I am not dating girls who I don't care about just not to hurt them"
A pause.
"They don't care about me anyway... Not really"
Remus stared. The way he said it sounded as if he cared, as if it hurt him.
"You're going to play around for life, then?" Remus asked.
"Yes" Sirius giggled "Who knows? The only way I would be with someone is when they see the real me and don't run away"
Remus knew Sirius was actually very insecure under that cocky facade.
"The person who falls in love with the real you would be really really lucky"
The words came out of Remus without filter because he felt them with all his heart. Sirius was not only physically beautiful and charming. He was a wonderful person and there was a treasure inside of him that anyone would be lucky to discover.
Now Remus had fucked up and probably was being slightly obvious with his crush because Sirius was looking at him suspiciously.
"You think?" he asked.
Remus smiled "I know"
Then he looked away because his cheeks were on fire. God, he was so pathetic.
"Now, could you please fuck off and let me finish homework? I have a lot to do"
Sirius smiled. That gorgeous smile of his "Sure, Moony"

resuscitation ✦ a sirius black microfic
— 706 words ; sfw ; wolfstar and platonic prongsfoot and black brother fluff ; fix it / crack lmao
“Hello?”
The first voice Sirius has heard in years and for some reason, the last one he expects to hear is Remus’. Or at least, he would be the least likely person if not for James’ cadence echoing through the narrow shoot to his cell directly after.
“Pads?”
Sirius calls out, his own voice grated from disuse, saturated in disbelief, “Guys?”
Then, the narrow gouge in Sirius’ cell where he’d been taking his meals is opening, widened by Remus’ handiwork, who is suddenly visible with his wand pointing at the stone. And next to him—
“James?!” He throws himself into his friend, unsure if he’s dreaming but not willing to waste a second of the reunion by taking any time to consider the reality of it. He wants to enjoy it.
James holds him closely, apparently uncaring of his emaciated form or rotting smell. “Sirius, you’re alright.”
“I’m alright? You died!” He shakes him without loosening his grip. “Moons, you better get in here. I’m not letting go of him but you know how terribly I’ve missed you.”
“Oh, alright.” Remus laughs and complies. “Let me get us out of here while I’m at it.”
Sirius hadn’t known that was an option. For a moment, he’s terrified. Worried that that change of scenery will wake him up. Then, there’s the tightening of apparation and he’s no longer in the oppressive atmosphere of Azkaban and instead in a cinnamon scented living room.
He’s free from the arms of his loved ones for an entire second in total before there's a mouthful of red hair and soft, freckled arms. “Happy birthday, Sirius.”  A toddler is tucked between them and he has tears filling his vision.
“This is real?”
Lily laughs in his arms but it’s not her that answers. “I hope so. I worked really hard to get here.” It comes from behind him and he pulls away from the woman only enough to see the source.
It’s Regulus, his hair the shortest Sirius has ever seen it, a contrast to the unprecedented length of his own. He’s dressed in a muggle button down and jacket but it’s visible only through his robes. He looks clean and light. Unburdened. If it wasn’t his brother, he might not have recognized him.
It’s with his eyes locked onto Regulus’ nearly identical irises, that Sirius loses consciousness.
✧˖°.♡︎⋆。°✩
Later, when he’s feeling less lightheaded, Remus fills him in a bit and then Regulus, Lily, James, and Dumbledore stop by to explain the rest, the latter having joined them for tea and discussions after apologizing for his tardiness.
He learns of his brother’s bravery, inspired by the loss of Lily and James and his pride in his brother’s resilient pursuit of Peter. He finally confided in his knowledge of the locket, not knowing how important it was to the cause. Doubling as a spy for the Order, he had been in close contact with Snape and Dumbledore, without the knowledge of most members, who had returned his divulged information with the revelation of his theory on Voldemort’s creation of Horcruxes.
With everyone working together, it didn’t take long to gather the artifacts and destroy them. Helped further along by the sacrifice that Lily and James had made, which was returned with their lives when Voldemort’s curse magic had dissipated and undone each death carried out in the process of making Horcruxes.
“So, they just released me?”
At this, Regulus’ face falls and Remus hurries to explain. “Your release was a priority, it has been since we discovered that Peter was my counterweight. Secretly on Voldemort’s service. But the ministry is slow and—”
“Without us to prove it wasn’t you who betrayed us, it was hard securing your freedom. We’ve only been back three months and you’re already out.”
He is distracted by hands in his hair which isn’t surprising, Remus has been soothing the strands with his fingers while Sirius’ head lay in his lap for the past hour or so, but these hands are tiny and insistent.
Sirius shifts to look at Harry, who has crawled over to them from his blanket on the floor. “It’s over, then? Everyone is safe?” He asks Harry but addresses the room.
“Everyone is safe.”

Dunes and Waters
PART 1 • NEXT PART
PART 2:
Here is the thing about living alone: the routines. Little patterns of behaviour, daily rituals. Like turning on the kettle for tea before going to brush your teeth. A cigarette smoked out the kitchen window while waiting for it to cool down. Cryptic crosswords in the morning paper.
Remus has been living by himself for six years, ever since his mum died and his dad decided he couldn’t live with the reminder, going off to travel the Scottish Highlands and never returning. And he likes it, Remus does; never mind if he’s in his tiny studio in London, his old university accommodation, or in this lovely hotel in Egypt. Being alone suits him.
This morning, his crossword is half (and incorrectly) completed. The water from the kettle emptied and not replaced. His cigarettes – of which he still had three, he’s certain – all gone.
Worst of all? Sirius Black, hair up in a knot held up with his wand, sprawled out onto Remus’ favourite windowsill smoking what must be his last cigarette.
He looks like a cover of an album. Framed by the morning sun. Velvet Underground would pay a fortune for a picture of him right now, dressed in a loose billowy shirt he’s procured from Merlin knows where, and nothing else but boxers. Andy Warhol would paint him like he painted Marilyn – obsessively, repeatedly. Immortalise how he flicks the cigarette, a bit of ash falling onto the windowsill. Runs a restless thumb down the line of his bottom lip. Hums to himself softly and Remus thinks I was right because even subdued like this, it truly is a voice to behold.
“I didn’t know how you take your tea,” Black says in leu of greeting.
“With hot water, to start with.” The meaning (refill the damned kettle!) seems lost on him, as he goes back to watching the world outside the window.
Must be a strange thing, to be here. Yesterday, and for the last two months, he woke up in a tiny cell made even smaller by the range of the chain holding him down. The window too high up and too small to give sunlight or a view, and even if he’d managed to get up there, he’d only have seen the sunken walls surrounding the jail.
Remus refills the kettle (again) and turns it on (again).
“Might making me one too?”
And Remus is a polite person. His mother taught him to be. So he turns off the kettle. Adds enough water for another tea, and hopes that this time is the last time.
“I like it real sweet,” Sirius drawls, stretching his vowels like a cat after a sun nap. “Lots of sugar.”
“You can add your own.”
“So inhospitable. So cruel. I’m sick, you know?”
“Sick enough to smoke all my cigarettes. Did you take your potions at least?”
A sharp tiny smile, a break in the veneer. “Knew you wouldn’t mind, Professor. You look like a right standup guy. The kind that lends others his smokes and his tea.”
“Potions?” Remus doesn’t let the man derail him. It must be an insult, with the way Black says it, but the doctor asked him to keep an eye, and he promised.
Never mind that he really doesn’t want his work delayed if Black gets worse on account of his own stupidity. It’s too important. Too time-sensitive.
“Yes, yes. I’ve taken them. Scouts honour, Professor. Or should I call you Doctor, instead, hmm? I’m sure you have one of those as well.”
“A doctorate? No. Not yet.”
“Pity. Professor it is then.”
“Just Remus. Please.”

Midnights (Marauder's Version)
Welcome back to the new series by @marsmarauders and I. Obviously we got carried away again but here you have every single song from Midnights related to the Marauders characters :D
So we present to you... Midnights (Marauder's Version)
Lavender Haze
“The 1950s shit they want from me, I just wanna stay in that Lavender haze"
Like this song is very obviously Jily falling hopelessly in love with each other I don’t think it needs to be further elaborated
Maroon
“When the silence came, we were shaking, blind and hazy, How the hell did we lose sight of us again?"
Wolfstar, but specifically like… November 1981. The vinyl reference, "the lips I used to call home," "laughing with my feet in your lap," and "the rust that grew between telephones" signifying how they weren’t communicating well and hiding things from each other "I see you everyday now" cause Remus sees the sky and what just so happens to be in the sky? Stars. Sirius also sees the sky from his prison cell and what does he see? Oh that’s right the moon!
Anti-Hero
“When my depression works the graveyard shift, All of the people I've ghosted stand there in the room”
We had two theories for this one first being Regulus bcoz of the self deprecating vibe and “I'll stare directly at the sun (James) but never in the mirror”
But we could also see it as Mary post-war? It's hard to describe why, but everyone sees her as the Anti-Hero cause she saved herself even tho she had full right to do that
Snow on the Beach
For this one I was utterly confused and absolutely useless and Marls came up with this interpretation herself
"Can this be a real thing? Can it? Are we falling like snow at the beach?"
This song is Sirius's perspective specifically during the wolfstar forgiveness phase after the prank. "You wanting me tonight feels impossible".
You're On Your Own, Kid
"You're on your own, kid, You always have been"
Both of us agree that this song screams all the Black children because none of them chose this town (family) and dreamt of getting out, I mean the whole song recounts a young person who longs for love but eventually understands that they are on their own and always have been afterall whatever you do you can never escape the black family curse can you?
Midnight Rain
“He was sunshine, I was midnight rain”
I mean do I even need to say anything? Its jegulus bcoz they r the literal definition of opposites attract even tho they loved each other they were born on two different sides of a war which inevitably became the reason of their end.
Question…?
"Can I ask you a question? Did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room"
Dorlene. That’s it, like we have no explanation, just vibes.
Vigilante Shit
"I don't start it but I can tell you how it ends, Don't get sad, get even"
Both of us agree it could be both Regulus or Dorcas because canonically Regulus knew about the horcruxes, and died while deceiving the dark lord and on the way to kill him (also bonus bcoz the final blow which made him take this decision was bcoz Voldemort exploited Kreature so Reg decided to get even) Dorcas on the other hand canonically had to be killed by Voldemort himself because she was posing as too big a threat to his empire
Bejeweled
"Baby love, I think I've been a little too kind, Didn't notice you walking all over my peace of mind"
Lily about Severus and how even tho she  mourns and misses her friendship with him, it will never be worth more than her self respect and how she won’t let him walk all over her, a diamond’s gotta shine afterall ;)
Labyrinth
"Uh oh, I'm falling in love, Oh no, I'm falling in love again, Oh, I'm falling in love"
To me this song is sooo obviously jegulus coz of the chorus alone, its James realizing that he’s falling in love again, this time with Regulus after pining after Lily for years. Just how when he thought he was “unlovable” and it was all doomed this sickly, victorian looking, snarky slytherin boy swoops in and steals his heart right out of his chest
Marls has her own hc for Emmary tho where basically Mary was in love with Lily but it was unrequited and then she had a situationship with Emmaline but ended up catching feelings which is so perfect for this song
Karma
"And I keep my side of the street clean, You wouldn't know what I mean"
Again I had no opinion on this song coz it felt like too happy and too upbeat a song for any of these miserable sods (I still love them ) but Marls swooped in with a brilliant interpretation which was that its from Dorcas’ pov to the slytherin trio basically throwing shade at them for choosing to stay and join the death eaters instead of leaving and fighting for the “right” side like her
Sweet Nothing
"They said the end is comin', everyone's up to somethin' I find myself runnin' home to your sweet nothings"
Now for this song we had differing views with me being a jegulus girlie while Marls being a jily girlie (we still love both the ships tho, we just have a preference)
To me the song is jegulus coz I see it as them expecting the inevitable end of their relationship and doom due to the impending war and their family’s differing views and them just trying to tune everything out to spend their limited time together and in love.
On the other hand Marls interpreted is as to when the Potters were in hiding with only each other and Harry for company. How they could see that the war was on full ride and they were at the centre of it while still trying to create some sweet and happy memories with their son
Mastermind
"I laid the groundwork, and then, Just like clockwork, The dominos cascaded in a line, What if I told you I'm a mastermind?"
(Try and tell me the whole bridge doesn’t scream Regulus Arcturus Black.) To me the song is about Regulus because the man literally was a mastermind, while being a death eater he planned to betray Voldemort by destroying a horcrux and he was actually successful in retrieving it tho maybe I’m a little biased due to his characterization in the fic only the brave (Marls also thinks the song could be about James bcoz of the bridge "To make them love me and make it seem effortless")
The Great War
"I vowed I would always be yours, 'Cause we survived the Great War"
Marls didn’t really have an opinion on this one but for me it was very clearly wolfstar. First reason obviously being the fact that they are pretty much the only couple who actually survived the war (the first one that is, we all remember how the second one went). "Somewhere in the haze, got a sense I'd been betrayed" being how they both thought the other was the spy and the prank
Bigger Than The Whole Sky
"Every single thing I touch becomes sick with sadness, 'Cause it's all over now, all out to sea"
Now this could go two ways one being the black brothers,
"Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, You were bigger than the whole sky"
Basically how Sirius feels when Regulus gets the dark mark. Because his brother is too far gone
Bonus since Regulus dies literally all out at sea
The other being marylily bcoz of
"What could've been, would've been, What should've been you"
"And I've got a lot to pine about, I've got a lot to live without"
Obviously from Mary’s pov since Lily is dead
Paris
Now Marls had no idea about and I suggested rosekiller just coz of vibes and coz
"I wanna brainwash you, Into loving me forever"
This seems like something Barty would definitely say
High Infidelity
"You know there's many different ways that you can kill the one you love, The slowest way is never loving them enough"
To me this song is bartylus coded (don’t worry they then get together with Evan and James and have a happy relationship) especially coz of this one specific rosekiller microfic I’d seen if I find it I’ll reblog it with this post
Glitch
"In search of glorious happenings of happenstance on someone else's playground, But it's been two thousand one hundred and 90 days of our love blackout"
We agreed this song gives off wolfstar vibes tho we are open to suggestions
Also 2190 days is six years which is around the same amount of time wolfstar dated if we hc that they got together around their 5th year :D
Would've, Could've, Should've
"If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?, Years of tearing down our banners, you and I, Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts, Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first"
Now this track could be taken in many contexts I like the interpretation of it being from the Black children’s perspective to their parents
And another one being from Remus to Greyback
"And if I was a child, did it matter, If you got to wash your hands?"
Marls also suggested it being from Narcissa’s pov to Lucius or Bellatrix, regretting not going with Andromeda which also fits wonderfully
(Since it in itself is talking about the person suffering due to a relationship when they were young and it even now haunts them I feel like this song could be interpreted many many ways bcoz all of the marauders era characters dealt with a lot of trauma at a young age)
Well obviously since most of them didn’t even reach their twenties
Dear Reader
"Dear Reader, if it feels like a trap, You're already in one"
Peter Pettigrew. Need I see anything more?
Hits Different
"In the good in the world, you once believed in me, And I felt you and I held you for a while"
Lily without Snape in her life especially when she starts falling for James
You're Losing Me
"How can you say that you love someone you can't tell is dyin'?, I sent you signals and bit my nails down to the quick, My face was gray, but you wouldn't admit that we were sick"
For this one there wasn’t even a discussion needed it is wolfstar during the first war and we won’t hear otherwise. How even tho Sirius and Remus loved each other, the pressure of the war itself was too much on them especially coz they were so young and also coz of how Peter was manipulating them against the other ("Was it because I'm a werewolf?" "Was it because I'm a Black?" I’m sorry). They could see their relationship was straining, they kept waiting for the other to take a risk, a step to fix it and how even through their suspicions, they loved each other regardless
AAAAND THAT'S A WRAP!! THANK YOU FOR READING THIS!!
Make sure to come back to see Evermore, coming soon! (To a theater near you.)

orpheus and eurydice vs wolfstar?? i NEED to hear your thoughts!!! (as a classics nerd marauders fan i can't believe i didn't think to draw parallels between ships n mythology sooner)
Reblogs, this ask and an ask from @transwolfstar has officially convinced me.
I've always gone back and forth on who was who in this scenario, but I've come to the conclusion recently.
Orpheus is Remus, Sirius is Euridyce 100%.
Orpheus is what I believe Remus would have been if he hadn't been attacked by Greyback. He grew up loved, and as sheltered as he physically could have been from the world until he went to school. Orpheus was one to see the best in the world, what the world could become. He was a loner through and through, which is so Remus coded tbh. Remus is connected and grounded, which I fully believe Orpheus was, based on the way he used his musical talents.
Euridyce being Sirius is something I'm so genuinely passionate about. He sees the world for what it is because he's been through such extreme hardships. Euridyce and Sirius are kindred spirits through and through. Not only that, but in the original myth Euridyce was a nymph. The way Sirius' beauty is so heavily emphasised throughout his mentions in the books and films (to the point that I lowkey love the being part veela headcanon) is so Euridyce.
This leads me on to THEIR LOVE. Orpheus falls head over heels for Euridyce, but not just because she's a minor deity, because of her. Because she's his soulmate, his everything, the person he's willing to literally go to the end of the earth for. This is so fucking paralleled by Wolfstar. They love each other so genuinely unconditionally (according to all canon that I read too much into and a lot of fanon), and Remus is willing to fight, even kill an old friend, with very little real confirmation/context, at the drop of a hat for Sirius.
Remus loses Sirius for the first time tragically in the same way Orpheus loses Euridyce (on their wedding night). For both, it isn't permanent, in spite of the fact that they believe it will be. Euridyce is in the underworld, which is known to be a genuinely traumatising afterlife that causes you to lose all sense of identity, and Sirius is in Azkaban, which feeds on your positive memories and forces you to lose all sense of self.
Orpheus seeks out and cares for Euridyce so deeply, using his skill set (his music) to save her from the underworld. This is a bit of a stretch, so you can completely disregard this one, but Remus is a more subdued character (because he grew up in more hardship than Orpheus, moulding his character into a more reserved one), making his staying with, looking out for and understanding Sirius without words his own variation of this.
All of the waiting; both Orpheus and Remus knowing that every second in their own respective torture was stripping them of their soul, their identity. Then, when they're finally reunited, they get no time together. Orpheus has to lead Euridyce, walking for days, without looking back, without ever knowing if she was really following him, if the gods had tricked him, if she had been taken or hurt at all on the way back. Remus and Sirius are immediately thrown back into a war, with no way to keep one another safe. Every day was one of uncertainty, and they had Harry, the child of their dead best friends, to look out for every single step of the way.
They both end in tragedy.
Orpheus, when he's out of the final stretch, the cave, turns. He looks for Euridyce. Whether it's on instinct, because she trips, because he believes he's been tricked, or because he could hear her crying the entire time and finally reached his limit, he turns around. He loves her so much that he searches for her, and he loses her because of it. Remus, however, allows Sirius to walk into the trap. He hears the panic, he knows that Sirius will go straight after Harry, will walk straight into the trap on his own, and brings the Order. He tries to keep Sirius safe. His problem is one of looking away. Of being so caught up in the war, that he can't even register what is happening until it's over. Until Sirius has been taken from him, even though he did everything he did to keep him safe. For both of them, it looks like they're going to make it, that everything is going to be okay, until it isn't. One painfully human moment, and they're both gone. Orpheus because he doesn't trust his circumstances and looks back, Remus because he trusts them too much and looks away.
Still, there was never an ounce of blame appointed to Orpheus or to Remus. The poem Metamorphoses by Ovid puts it perfectly. “Eurydice, dying now a second time, uttered no complaint against her husband. What was there to complain of, but that she had been loved?”
Sirius is taken through the veil. Remus doesn't know if he is truly in the afterlife, or if he's trapped in between, suffering helplessly and wishing for relief. Wishing that he could take it all back, or that he could just die. He can't even go after him and find him. He has to hold Harry back, hold him together. Orpheus doesn't know how long it will take Euridyce to lose her mind in the afterlife. For everything that he fell in love with to be stripped away, for her to become nothing but a being of eternal suffering. He attempts to use his music to get back to the afterlife, but he cannot.
Orpheus is eventually killed, as is Remus. Both too soon, both not soon enough.
Right person, not enough time.
It's absolutely heartbreaking, and it's what I spend my every waking moment thinking about.

Text
"Have a go at me. Don't thank me or anything. It's always you're so stupid, James; it's never you looked so sexy and heroic while saving everyone from the murderous spider, James."
“On the bright side, at least Regulus won't have to kill him. At least James knows for sure now that Regulus can't, and even with that fact, it's not an issue. James is bleeding out, slowly but surely, and Regulus doesn't have to worry about a thing.
Though, honestly, James had meant it when he said that he wishes it had been Regulus. Maybe it's a strange, pyschosexual thing, but he feels like he's sort of been flirting with Regulus and his daggers this entire time, so to be stabbed by him would surely have been more satisfying. Regulus would have made sure James felt it, adrenaline or not. He isn't sure why that's so attractive to him, but it really is.
Maybe James is in shock. Maybe James actually does have a knife kink. Maybe James is just in love, and he wants anything he can get from Regulus, even if it's literal death.”
“It's some kind of cruel irony to realize that, in truth, Regulus was never the Trojan Horse.
Regulus is Troy. He's always been Troy, because the real Trojan Horse, this whole time, was love.”
“Slowly, Regulus lifts his head. He looks at James, and he is a city burning to the ground, crumbling into ash. He is being torn down brick-by-brick, dismantled piece-by-piece, a place more than a person now, one suffering catastrophe.”
“Sirius settles down with a gusty exhale, just gazing at him with undeniable affection, even while he still looks so tired. Oh, but Remus loves this man. He really—
Oh.
Oh, Remus thinks, his heart doing this bittersweet sort of clench-and-release in his chest as he realizes that it's true. Not just in abstract. Not just them heading towards something they can never really have. Not just falling in love—but landing. Remus loves Sirius. He loves him. It's already there; it's already happened. It's love. He's in love.”
