OKAY CHAT I DIDN'T INTEND IT TO BE THIS WAY BUT THIS POST IS SUPER-HUGE. Read at your own risk lol
*taps the mic* Uh, welcome to Chili's. So, I mustered up the courage to finally make a post about how I view Silco and Jinx's relationship and why I think it is actually a lot better than it's commonly perceived. Please please please do not assume that I do this to specifically whitewash Silco or make him less morally gray, this is my genuine read on them based on my own experience and views. I do not claim that I don't have any bias at all, but I think that it didn't influence my opinion that much.
I am going to say this from the start: I don't have much negative to say about them and I don't think of their relationship as toxic. If this point of view is unacceptable to you, please disregard this post. However, if you want to discuss this topic with me and challenge my points, please be civil about it and don't insult me. I don't have any ill intentions, nor am I trying to normalize unhealthy behavior.
Okay, from this preamble to another. This analysis is going to be based entirely on season 1 and nothing else. Some of my points will address common perceptions about them in the fandom, some I'll write as a regular analysis.
Now let's start shall we (yes, this is going to be a one long post because they're so so important to me). In the second paragraph I said that I don't view their relationship as toxic. Let me explain. I think this is a very complex topic and opinions will vary from person to person. Considering that both Silco and Jinx are mentally ill this adds another layer to our already complicated cake. So, for me toxic relationships are those where at least one person almost always behaves in the way they see is right, disregarding other person's wants or needs. It also must include unhealthy/toxic behaviors, i. e. manipulation, gaslighting, possessiveness, control over other person's decisions, physical and/or emotional abuse etc etc. These behaviors must be routinely occurrences and not happen only once or twice. You can say: "But a lot of things you listed exactly describe how Silco behaves towards Jinx!" well. No but I'll get to this later.
There's also an elephant in the room we need to deal with: codependency. Now, I don't claim to be an expert on the topic or even well-informed, but I have a feeling that this term is a Bit overused. Terms, especially medical ones, are very useful for describing one specific thing. But as of late a lot of terms are used on things that are not. Well. The thing the term is describing. You don't need to go far for examples: hyperfixation, depression, panic attack, etc. When knowledge becomes widespread, things like that are inevitable, unfortunately. But back to the topic. Are Jinx and Silco's relationship codependent? I personally don't think so. One of the key characteristics of a codependent relationship is losing a sense of self and disregarding your wants/needs, and Jinx and Silco never display that. They are very self-driven characters. And while Jinx did do some things to impress Silco, it's not necessarily a symptom of a codependent relationship specifically. Again, I'll compare it to medical symptoms. If your right side hurts it doesn't mean you have appendicitis, if you have a short attention span it doesn't mean you have ADHD. Mental health problems Jinx and Silco have can be just that: mental health problems. Trust issues, low self-esteem, fear of abandonment, etc. They don't need to be a part of a bigger problem, even if there are some similarities. (Also just a side note: I got misdiagnosed with OCD this year, so I take correct descriptions and understanding of conditions/words very personally).
MAN THAT WAS TOO LONG. GET TO THE ACTUAL POINTS.
Alright. So first of all, Jinx and Silco are VERY trusting of each other. They both allow each other to enter their personal spaces, and feel comfortable and free in each other's presence. Silco allows Jinx to do his eye injections, to show him physical affection, he also trusts her with missions for his job, even when everyone else is against it. When Jinx in ep4 tells him that "(her screw up) won't happen again", he simply answers "I know". Despite Jinx's own insecurities Silco fully trusts her (sometimes even to his own detriment). And she fully trusts him as well (until the whole Vi shenanigans anyway), what can be seen in a way she's not afraid of his emotions or even to hurt him, because she knows perfectly well that he'll never harm her in any way (physical, I mean). And although there is a clear miscommunication between them in ep4 I don't think it's a common thing between them, and this specific case was caused by Jinx's deeply rooted trauma and low self-esteem, which Silco is unfortunately unable to fix.
Now onto the probably most common criticism of Silco specifically: that he made Jinx his weapon and raised her to be this bloodthirsty on purpose. And to this I say - no way. Silco DOES love Jinx and DOES trust her, but he's not blind and not an idiot. He perfectly knows that Jinx can cause a huge mess and potential troubles on the missions, his subordinates hate her, her mental state is unstable and therefore she's not the most reliable asset in the slightest, nor a necessary one. At no point do we get actual proof that Silco needs Jinx specifically for his operations, he seems to allow her to participate in them out of her own volition. After all, she does like being needed and included in the family business. You could argue that he needs Jinx for her gadgets and weapons, but nobody besides her uses them, so this option doesn't fit. "But he did request her to build Fishbones!" yeah. After Jinx stole the gemstone, again, out of her own choice. Silco is a swift strategist, if he sees an opportunity somewhere he takes it immediately. So there's nothing actually wrong with him asking Jinx to build a weapon with the use of gemstone. She didn't steal it for it to just. Lie there, after all. As to her bloodthirsty-ness I think he only nurtured what was already there. If you remember, in the very first episode Jinx made a bomb with NAILS in it. I don't think I need to tell you that it's just a horrible idea for a bomb, and she was only 9 at the time. As to Silco's "become what they fear" line. I don't think it indicates that he specifically raised Jinx to be a weapon, because he applied the same phrase to himself and we don't see him running around throwing glitter bombs at everyone (although it would've been cool to see ngl).
Next - Silco is very supportive of Jinx. His office is filled with things she drew all over, her inventions are tied to the ceiling. When Jinx is overwhelmed and upset about the failed mission he tells her to "focus on her gadgetry" and to "take some time". He clearly knows what she likes and what would put her in a better mood. He also doesn't restrict her self-expression, which can be seen in the way Jinx looks. I mean, you'd think that Silco would probably want for her to wear something more...classy? But he doesn't mind even one bit.
Another point I see a lot - that Silco loves Jinx but not Powder. I actually kiiinda understand where this point of view comes from, because the show does frame Vi and Silco as representatives of her Powder and Jinx persona respectively, but I don't think the text itself supports this. Let's take the river scene because it is the cause of this discussion in the first place after all. Silco tells Jinx that she needs "to let Powder die" and that "Jinx is perfect", but I don't necessarily agree that he meant it in a "choose between two of your personas" kind of way, because this conflict never existed between them in the first place. Vi does want "Powder" to come back, but Silco didn't show anything that would indicate of him disliking young Jinx in any way. He did adopt her when she was still Powder, after all. And even if she changed her name on the same night, her personality didn't, because that's not how humans work. So, he NEEDED to love Powder to raise her. Back to the river scene, he tells Jinx that she needs to let Powder die so "the fear of pain would no longer control (her)". "Powder" is tightly connected to Jinx's trauma of killing her entire family and Vi leaving her, i. e. the fear of pain of being betrayed again and the fear of messing up. In terms of psychology she really does need to live through this moment and properly process it, but unfortunately there's no psychologists in neither Piltover or Zaun, and Silco being mentally ill and not knowing better himself can only help her this way. "Jinx is perfect" also doesn't mean that he prefers Jinx over Powder, but rather "Jinx, the person you are right now, is perfect and strong. You need to let that weak part of you (Powder) die, so you can move on and become something greater". Jinx might've interpreted his line in the wrong way herself, but again, there's no actual evidence of Silco liking "Powder" less and only ever wanting "Jinx". And if we hop further into the finale, he literally says "YOU are perfect". Whatever seat she chooses, she will always be perfect to him. Even if she turns against him and everything he fights for, even if she kills him, even if she hates him, she remains perfect in his eyes. He might differentiate "Powder" and "Jinx" and a weaker/stronger part of her, but despite all that she's still his daughter.
Also. He's dealing with her mental health SOOOO great chat it's not even funny. I mean obviously he can't take care of it perfectly because again, psychology is non-existent in this world, but everything he CAN do he does just sooo good. He never lets other people berate or insult her, if he scolds her he only ever does this in private, he always tries to be patient and gentle with her, and the only time we seem him lash out at her is after Jinx stole the gemstone. He also seems to know what causes her psychosis and how to stop it, because he yells "Don't listen to her!" to Jinx when Vi triggers her, and then proceeds to try and shoot in Vi's direction to shut her up. We now know that this wasn't the best decision at all, but he literally goes feral when Jinx is hurt, so can you really blame him? There is of course an issue of him enabling her violence and letting her do everything she wants, but to cut Silco some slack he deals with a very mentally ill child, and as we saw in ep3 cutting Jinx off of something can easily cause her to have a mental breakdown. So I think partly his enabling was caused by his want not to hurt her.
Phew. I think we only need to get through the minor points now.
Manipulation: we only ever see Silco manipulate Jinx once, when he lied to her about Cait and Vi's reason for being in the Underground. Nothing indicates that he regularly manipulated her before.
Possessivness: I think this claim also doesn't have substantial evidence to back it up. We only see Silco being possessive of Jinx because of Vi, and even then it's not pure possessiveness. He literally doesn't want Jinx to be betrayed and possibly even killed like him. I think if Jinx just wanted to leave him on her own he would be a-okay with that. Also he doesn't watch over what she does/where she goes, which again reinforces his trust in her and him respecting her privacy.
Silco isolated Jinx from others: uhhh. See the end of the previous paragraph. If Jinx wanted to befriend someone she could've easily done that, and Silco wouldn't even know. The only person she couldn't befriend because of him is Ekko, but even he says to Vi that Jinx chose to be on Silco's side herself, so *shrugs*
And with that, I think I covered everything I wanted about their relationship. It's not perfect, but it's not bad either. Personally, I don't want to label it as anything, because minus the drug mafia and murders aspects they're just a regular father and daughter. There are no perfect parents, there are no perfect children, but if they try their hardest to love each other in a way they're both happy with, they're great in my book.

Love your thoughts on Zoro 💯😍. How about dating & sexuality of Sanji? Is this pervert maybe still a virgin? 😅 I love this boy. 🐻
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Black Leg Sanji; Ability to Date, Sexuality, & Trauma Responses (ft. Kamabakka Kingdom & Germa 66)
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Oooh I was waiting for this one!!
As always, this is my interpretation of Sanji’s character so take my opinion with a grain of salt lol
We’ll discuss Sanji’s trauma and how this makes him view men and women, my take on his sexuality, if him having a partner is plausible within the canon right now, and his most popular ships.
••
I’ve always thought about how his interactions with women and men in the show almost always have the same tone
Ykwim? He is always treating the ladies kindly, offering them warmth, food, protection, and a smile.
He always treats the men harshly, always being curt with them, acting disinterested and annoyed at what they say with his teeth bared.
And I don’t really know how aware Sanji is to his initial behavior and how much they vary between man and woman.
Do you ever just instinctively get annoyed when that one person tries to talk to you? No matter what they say bitterness seeps out of your tone when you respond to them and you can’t help but ridicule whatever they said regardless if it needs any scrutinizing or not?
And it’s not like you’re doing on purpose, it just flows through your body like rain.
That’s what I think Sanji feels towards men whenever he interacts with them.
He only ever doesn’t really act standoff ish to Usopp and sometimes Luffy.
This all stems from his childhood. From the beatings he took from his brothers, from the snare in their smiles as they spoke the most hurtful things to him when he couldn’t do anything to defend himself. From the way Judge- from the way adults(adult men/the soldiers of germa 66) never tried to help him.
It all stems from his childhood. From the soft tones that the maids would use with him when he would visit his mother, from the gentleness of the lady cooks who let him stay in the kitchen when he asked (even though they technically couldn’t refuse). From the way his sister was always the one to patch him up and how she never laid a hand on him. From the way his mother would praise him just for being kind and would stroke his hair so lightly.
This bias that Sanji developed is so deeply ingrained in him.
••
This bias leads me to my next section, what’s Sanji’s sexuality?
I really think he’s bi. But it’s complicated.
He rejects key parts of himself all the time.
He rejects his natural femininity - always wearing a traditional masculine suit, always smoking a cigarette, having a rumbly, more manly voice (TRUST i believe his voice is actually a lot higher pitched but the cigarettes and his own training to get rid of his French accent dulls it down- IN FRENCH HE SPEAKS HIGH PITCHED AHHHH)
He rejects his need for outside help to cope with his trauma - he has not once that I truly remember outside of Onigashima against his ‘battle’ with Black Maria has ever asked for help. He tries to handle things on his own not to burden those he’s around no matter how much he’s hurting and needs someone.
He rejects the fondness he could potentially have for a man - the only way I could explain this is like, internalized homophobia??
I will expand more on this when I get to his Zosan ship with Zoro. But it’s also from the way he is scared of men. Because men have only ever hurt him. It’s this wall that he’s built so high he can’t grasp the concept of outwardly loving another male.
His conditions in Germa 66 changed his perception of how acceptable it would be to love a guy. Guys scare him, no guy would be accepted by Germa 66 as well. They would think that’s a joke, that one of the princes could love his own gender. It isn’t a welcoming environment for queer tendencies nor people (cough cough Sanji)
- Sanji was made from his mother’s love, and he was the only one out of his siblings made to love. He was meant to love the world, to love others, that’s who Sanji is deep down.
Sanji doesn’t really seem to like that idea, he rejects it. It’s so much easier for him to love women.
Sanji himself would probably tell you that he’s straight and only likes girls. It’s easier, it’s traditional, it’s safer. And he does like girls. He likes them sexually, he likes them physically and emotionally (ish on emotional lowkey lowkey). He also likes the idea of loving a woman. It’s ‘right’- for him to love a woman.
Yk?? He could imagine himself fighting for and protecting a woman, baking her food, snuggling with her at night, worshipping her hips in the lust filled hours of dusk.
I don’t think he could imagine all that with a man.
And that’s okay, in a way. He’s a tormented babe.
THIS IS WHY KAMABAKKA KINGDOM WAS SO IMPORTANT FOR SANJI IN MY OPINION. (GUYSSSS)
It probably wasn’t Kuma’s intention. But Sanji being exposed and exiled to a queer island for two whole years had to have healed his inner troubles in some capacity.
There aren’t social norms, no traditional role to play in Kamabakka Kingdom. It’s just..people. Unapologetic, true natured people.
It’s what a healthy society looks like- at least to me. It’s crazy how I feel like I perceive queer communities in media to be the perfect place of self acceptance because all normal social roles/gender roles/and modest constrictions are just not there? (Example: I could kiss a girl I’ve been wanting to without having that itching voice in the back of my head go ‘your friends would make fun of you for that, you’ll be looked at differently if you do that’ or ‘this doesn’t look right, it would look better if you were a guy or she were a guy’ LIKE?! There’s a line that is crossed in traditional communities that just aren’t in queer communities when it comes to expressing yourself I feel like 🧍‍♀️)
It’s so freeing to be yourself the way that you define it and I so hope that is what Sanji experienced during his time there.
He was surrounded by drag queens who fully embraced themselves. They knew they liked men, they were okay with it. They knew they liked to dress feminine, they were okay with it. They knew they were strong and could fight, they were okay with it.
Hmm I don’t think I’m really articulating how it was important to him in a -accepting yourself is healthy and you’re not disappointing anybody- way and not a -go kiss this guy that dresses as a gal you’ll love it here wear this dress so you fit in with us you secret freak- kind way
Yk??
Anyway -
I feel like he’s bisexual with a heavy lean towards women. This comes from his upbringing in Germa 66 because it changed his view on men but deep down I feel like he still has the capability of loving a man- just in different way he would love a woman.
It’ll always be a different way.
Sanji himself would tell you he’s straight.
If this were an au untraumatized Sanji, he would be regular bi without a preference imo.
••
I headcanon him as still being a virgin in the One Piece story right now. There’s not much logic behind it. More of a feeling.
His trauma almost prohibits him from getting to close to a woman imo, I think he would freak out and have to back out of such an intimate act.
It would also probably have to be someone that Sanji knows well, I don’t see him hooking up with someone that is more a stranger or acquaintance than friend or loved one.
I do think that he has successfully wooed women during his time at the Baratie, but he never ended up sharing more than a few kisses with one or two of them and maybe a rare blowjob or fingering session before something happened.
I do think that sex is something he wants. I think Sanji is a character that wants to devote himself to something real that he can touch. Like a person. Though again with the whole perception thing- he couldn’t see himself being sexual with another man. And that’s okay- love comes in other forms of intimacy, we’ll talk abt this in his Zosan part soon too.
OMG a creator on this app - onlymurphy- has really good Sanji fanfics that cover his need for intimacy, how his trauma causes him to crave physical closeness, how he always strives to please/pleasure his partner, and they do a really good job at conveying the depth of his character so def check them out too if you haven’t before
••
Would Sanji have a partner in the story anytime soon? Nah. But- I do think he is someone that needs or would benefit greatly from a partner.
A partner would help him through his issues. He could heal so well if he had someone there for him that loved him in a way no one else could. A way that no one else has.
He’s a hopeless romantic imo, he puts relationships on a pedestal. For him to have that for his own is something so special yk?
However I still do think that he needs to change his bias towards both men and women before he gets a partner.
••
This leads me to my next point, my preferences in Sanji’s partner.
I want him to have someone that doesn’t suit his biases so badly!! Someone that challenges him to face the fact not all people fit into his preconceived notions about them.
Ugh
Like. Have him with a masculine woman, someone who isn’t dainty, someone who doesn’t want all his sugar coated assertions of affection, praise, and admiration. Someone who doesn’t want his snacks that he made for her just because he thought she might be hungry even though everyone else on the crew I’d probably just as hungry yk?
Have him with a woman that’s a genuine fighter. Not someone who learned to fight to survive in the sense that Robin is a fighter. Someone more like Vi from Arcane that settles things with her fists. A woman that’s up front and center during the battles with the other members of the monster trio. Yk??
Have him with a woman with rough, ugly scars. Better yet, facial scars. A woman that would be unattractive by normal social standards. We both know he’ll still find her beautiful, but it’s about the fact that others won’t. That’s she’s different.
Have him with a woman that’s a little morally grey. Maybe she’s closed off and rough around the edges to everyone, even him. She kills people, she hurts people, but she’s still good. Ish. People aren’t one thing, everyone is a little bit of everything. (Idk if this one is as big of a deal as the others listed above imo he’s the type of guy to go ‘I support women’s wrongs/women do no wrongs/what murdahh?? Ykwim?)
Men
Have Sanji with a man that’s more feminine coded. Something that almost gives him flashbacks to Kamabakka Kingdom. A guy that’s just pretty, there’s no other word to describe him. He’s handsome ish yeah, but he’s not really hot or sexy even if he is-he’s mostly pretty. This guy could have feminine coded hobbies too. He doesn’t have to be a fighter, he could be more of a lover. He could be a painter- someone who sculpts and makes creations out of color and draws emotion out of a blank canvas.
Have him with a guy that’s very emotional too. Maybe more emotionally aware? He would sit Sanji down for a discussion about their relationship because he knows damn well Sanji won’t.
Maybe a guy that is deadly and masculine and all the other things that scare Sanji. But to Sanji, around Sanji, with Sanji, he’s soft. Sanji could never provoke such violence and cruelty because he can’t eve imagine doing things like that to someone like Sanji. (Zosan lowkey lowkey lowkey)
Regardless of my wish for him to fall in love with someone outside of his normal biased preference, Sanji’s partner needs to be someone gentle and kind to him. He needs someone to give him grace, give him a safe spot.
••
Okay, last bit of this post- Sanji’s popular ships. (Zoro, Usopp, Luffy, Nami, Pudding, Viola)
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sanji x Zoro: yes, but in a specific way.
I mentioned this in my Zoro post with Zoro’s ability to date, but Zosan is something more spiritual you could say.
I don’t see it begin sexual, I don’t think they would ever have feelings for each other like that. Sorry, no Zosan kisses from over here ☝️
They have a companionship that is deep and neither of them dare think about it because they don’t know what the other thinks about it nor how it could affect the Straw Hats. They’re like two sides of the same coin. They belong to each other but in the same breath they can’t stand to let the other know that they are dependent on them.
They’re complicated but that’s how they’re supposed to be.
They’re not supposed to be traditional in any sense of the word, at least not to me.
Maybe their relationship could be something deeper if Sanji ever talked to Zoro about it, but it’s highly unlikely.
Zosan is also where Sanji’s internalized homophobia comes in to play imo. Sanji would never admit to anyone, especially not Zoro, that he might feel some type of way about him that’s not negative. It doesn’t seem right to Sanji, and he probably despises the tightness in his chest he gets around Zoro. He also probably can’t discern whether it’s from a threat or from fond feelings.
Sanji would also imo always try to take how he feels when he looks at Zoro and how he looks at a woman and tell himself that the ladder is appropriate and is actual ‘love’ (ish)
Zosan is baked in layers of angst for me too, I don’t ever see Zosan as something cutesy. It just can’t be, not with how the way they are. It can be funny, duh, but not all happy and cute. There’s always gonna be complicated and abrupt and dangerous feelings with them.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sanji x Usopp: I didn’t know this was a genuine ship until recently. I think they’re better as close friends.
Sanji and Usopp understand each other really well.
Sanji was always the one to back Usopp up first and it showed a lot in pretimeskip when they had more shown interactions.
Usopp knows that feeling of being weak, not enough, unworthy, of being a burden. Just like Sanji does.
So I do understand why some people shop them together, but they work better as a duo.
I might actually prefer them as a duo over Zoro and Sanji as a duo.
Usopp and Sanji is what Zosan shippers sometimes make Zosan out to be. Something cutesy and fluffy- something it’s not.
(Aka pls make fluffy Sanuso content I need-)
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sanji x Luffy: I think they work something like Zolu works but to a lesser degree.
Luffy is Sanji’s savior in a way. He gave him the road to the All Blue. He showed him not all men will hurt you. He let Sanji be his cook and put so much love and trust into Sanji on behalf of the crew.
Which is why their fight on Whole Cake Island is so, so sad. It was their own breakup. Sanji never wanted to leave, he never wanted to hurt Luffy nor the crew, he wanted to keep them save at the expense of his own life, hands, and freedom.
Sanji’s loyalty to Luffy is tragic because it comes from a place of Sanji feeling unworthy of Luffy’s generosity too.
Ugh
I don’t see them sexually, I don’t see them romantically, all though I could see Sanji potentially like loving Luffy in a romantic way. But that specific form of love wouldn’t be reciprocated by Luffy yk? Idk it’s hard to explain.
They’re precious and they’re a true bond, but not in a traditional way.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sanji x Ace: hmm. I never knew this was a genuine ship either.
I mean, nothings like wrong with it
I just don’t see it yk?
They had limited interaction, even if it was good interactions.
Ace is dead..
Idk how they would feel given their relationship with Luffy, like Sanji with his captain’s older brother and Ace with his little brother’s cook.
It feels like an overstep for them to do that to Luffy?
I don’t see Sanji developing feelings, and I think Ace was being his charming usual self. lol they’re both charming guys with suave personas I just realized
So yeah, it’s a no for me. I don’t see this in a shop in any way but if they had more time maybe a duo? But their affiliations to delegate pirate crews also is a big deal so
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sanji x Nami: quick disclaimer, I don’t ship Sanji with any women in One Piece. I don’t think Sanami works and this is mainly on Nami’s part.
Nami imo, is what Sanji’s like perfect woman is. She’s beautiful, she’s funny, she’s smart, she’s a little flirty at times, she’s independent but still kinda relies on others, she’s seen the horrors of the world but didn’t let that change her, she is someone who would rather have someone else fight her battles for her.
I’m not saying Sanji doesn’t like Nami for who she is, but I think he likes the idea of her more than her and the idea of being with her more than she would actually like being with her.
But Nami just can’t reciprocate his feelings. I don’t really ship her with anyone, which does play a part in me saying this fyi. I feel like she might be asexual, or at the very least she doesn’t prioritize romance over her duties yk?
Given her childhood I think this makes sense. She’s constipated. In a way. Ykwim??
So, they don’t work for me. They’re a gag. They need to stop being a gag too especially since Oda’s rewritten Sanji’s behavior towards women as something more lustful and predatory. Sigh
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sanji x Pudding: NO. guys. No.
They’re not for me, they never will be. Lemme explain
Pudding is a minor, Sanji is an adult.
It was a pressured situation- arranged marriage in the first place. Nothing except the last moments from when Sanji saw her third eye up until he left Whole Cake Island was organic- and all the organicness was on Pudding’s side.
Pudding is a victim of her mother and she needs to heal from that before she has a partner imo.
Pudding said awful things about Sanji in the scene when she captured Rejiu too. That broke him for a good while. And Pudding can’t change what she said despite her change in feelings.
I also think her change in feelings towards Sanji is more of a trauma response to. Because he accepts her. And no one else really does nor has. It isn’t real imo. It’s kinda like Boa’s love for Luffy, it’s just not totally right imo.
Pudding isn’t a member of the Strawhats, and I don’t see any of the Strawhats, especially not Sanji that would want to be with his lover 25/8 being in a relationship with someone that isn’t a Strawhat. Yk? It’s a breach in loyalty to the crew as well.
I actually really like Pudding’s character but I don’t think she should have a love interest. I understand her catching feelings for Sanji but I respected her a lot when she shoved them down to put her priority of stopping Big Mom’s hunger pains, her duty as the minister of chocolate, and her responsibility as one of Big Mom’s children first. Yk?
They just don’t work in my opinion, I don’t want them to work either. But they’re good character foils and they represent some of the same stuff which is really interesting to me.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sanji x Viola: I also didn’t realize this was a genuine ship either lol.
Idk, I just don’t feel anything about it.
I don’t think they are a serious ship or pair because of a couple things.
Sanji fell in love with her body and faux behavior first. Which is something I don’t like seeing in Sanji’s potential love interests.
Viola was using him for the majority of their time together. And no hate to her, she just didn’t have any genuine feelings and I don’t think she ever gained them either.
Viola also has a duty to her people of Dressrosa, something she fought to regain for 13 years. She wouldn’t give that up for a man, a pirate.
They have different loyalties and paths in life
I don’t think Sanji’s feelings for Viola were ever real either. He just ‘saw the good’ in her.
I also don’t think I realized how close he was to like. Running off with her? Which weirded me out when he had to make himself reflect on his actions before deciding to help his crew.
So like.
They’re mid imo. They never had a chance, nor any solid footing as a ship at all.
Not saying they weren’t a little cute for like the half day they spent together but then again, they had different wants out of that.
Sanji also was more into the idea of her imo.
Yeah.. anyway
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Sanji has more minor female love interests like sprinkled around but none of them are serious yk? They’re more to show how his perception of women is challenged throughout the One Piece world
(Cosette, Ossan mainly speaking)
I’d write a little piece for Sanji x Robin but guys, don’t be silly there’s nothing for that ship and if u ship it live ur life brother don’t let me stop you

Taekookers and Jungkook solos seem to be under this misconception that Jikookers are all Jimin-biased lol. I've realized this being so long in the fandom. But when I was new and getting to know BTS, Jungkook was the first one I gravitated towards and soon I became a Jungkook biased ARMY. And it was through focusing on JK and watching non-edited content + little clips that revolved around him that I picked up on something between him and Jimin.
I didn't stumble upon shipping spaces or videos that could have altered my perception, it was all authentic. And mind you that time every little BTS content had Taekook at the forefront of the things I used to see and was recommended the most. But whenever I'd watch him with Jimin, the way Jungkook himself would behave towards Jimin (whom I didn't even like then), I'd feel so weird, like I'm watching moments between two people that I'm not supposed to witness. Even the moments when he'd push him away, I saw only myself when I was in love with my ex-girlfriend who wasn't my girlfriend but just a close friend then. Everything that JK is, his personality, is so much like myself, I feel. And that's a major reason why he's my bias, other than the fact that he's so talented.
Definitely not every Jikooker is Jimin biased, in fact from my perspective I'd say quite a number of them are Jungkook biased. And I think the Jm biased Jikookers have gotten even less now because of what happened with Face and Seven (people feeling the company sabotaged Jimin while JK got heavy promotion). A lot of the people who became PJMs in 2023 are ex-jikookers.
I’ve known bts and somewhat witnessed the inner workings of their fandom for a very long time. Although for some time, I have seen myself in the category of a lurker. I didn’t have the time to actively be a part of it. Now, I have crawled out of the woodworks, on time for the travel show.
It was jimin who caught my eye but it was jungkook, whose introversion, so similar to mine that I saw a sort of fondness growing and settling deep within me. I was there when km’s relationship began to take shape, something very undefinable still since we’re just spectators but I can pinpoint the exact moment when a lot of people could just tell. We just knew. Jungkook was the more obvious one, his face shows a map of his heart. We didn’t have jeonlus or satellite jeon for no reason, they were exaggerated but it was fun while it lasted. And what you said about your experience with your ex-girlfriend (I hope what you had with her was good for however long it lasted), the more you feel for someone, the more overwhelming it is to be around that person. Often times people misinterpret it as something malicious, which is what happened with Jungkook. And the kid was also going through a very sensitive developmental and transitional phase of his life. People are still unkind to that Jungkook.
I don’t like saying this but so many are in some ways living vicariously through km’s relationship while having an internal struggle as they project their own insecurities onto it. It’s such a shame how misery is thriving in these spaces on both sides. And why many jm biased jjkers have become solo stans. Another reason being, as you pointed out, how hybe handled jimin and jungkook’s solo debut. Hybe proved to be very incompetent while handling jimin. And the resources they did give Jungkook, it was to push an idea of a certain image, a regurgitated image of a popstar we have seen being already exhausted in the music industry. They didnt get the memo of what made Jungkook golden. That’s just what was off about the whole album. I’d like a better creative team for him.
And I do think a lot of jjkers are just people who are equally interested in jungkook and jimin as individuals. But yes there are a lot of jungkook biased jjkers. Us.

i wanna be LSK but… //
I’m so sorry anon, but I personally find it really funny when people hear the songs where taylor is working through her feelings of being betrayed by Scott B and attribute them to karlie instead.
It’s like finding a man holding a gun standing over a dead body and saying, hang on a minute… what if the real murderer is the victim’s gf… because two of her friends liked a gossipy tweet written by a known shit-stirrer!
that is to say, we know for a fact that taylor felt deeply betrayed by scott b, seeing as he’s verifiably the actual person who sold her masters to scooter, after treating taylor like family since she was very young. it’s pretty self-evident he deserves the level of vitriol in the smallest man who ever lived (besides the other descriptive details that link him to tsmwel, mtr etc).
as for taylor and karlie suddenly never being seen together again (seemingly drifting apart a whole year before the heist even happened, remember?), well she hasn’t spoken on that, so naturally we read between the lines in the songs to find out. some people have taken the masters heist songs to be about karlie, and ran with that. but others see karlie and taylor’s retreat into privacy reflected in songs under the ‘love blackout’ theme (especially around here, you’re on a longtime kaylor blog 🙈)
love blackout = the hints taylor has put out again and again that she intentionally distanced her public image from karlie’s because it was too dangerous to carry on as openly as they had at first. 2016 election sadness themes, secret love themes, all consistent over the years. all while writing new love songs that use callbacks to the rep muse, to yail even 🥺. as if taylor’s been using all the confusion and her masterful quill of misdirection to achieve her priority of protecting karlie. not protecting karlie’s public image and clout with swifties, which she doesn’t need to maintain her success because she was always successful in her own right! no, it’s all for Karlie The Person in their secret bubble of reality. all this showmanship, you know. the great war, hello!!!! too many songs to name where the kaylor chandelier is safely out of sight, but you can still see flickers through the boarded up windows ❣️
so forgive me for having a chuckle. to any anons who sincerely🛸want to believe, I’m just throwing it out there that there are plenty of us that never found the karlie-betrayer theory convincing at all. if you take a closer look at everything, the timeline of events and all the songs since, does it really make sense? (especially when there are so many shitty men in the mix who are more obviously to blame lol)
~ if you post, thank you for facilitating this rant 9wing, I’ll get off my soapbox now xxx
yup yup
i think a lot of people are predisposed to blaming karlie and so everything becomes a sort of confirmation bias.. which partially, i would argue, was by design.. so in a sense i do not fault gaylors or others for falling into this hole. but i do sometimes feel like faulting them a tiny bit for those who never climb out of it. there’s plenty of information and clues needed to figure it out and climb out of it.
one thing i don’t like about the whole “let’s not talk about muses” discourse is while the spirit of it is supposed to be “let’s study why these songs sound gay instead of commenting taylor lyrics on these people’s instagram pages,” in practice the phrasing almost is like giving yourself permission to pass judgement on the people in taylor’s story and then never reevaluate them. people often say ~lets not talk muses that’s invasive and gross~ and conveniently refuse to adjust their perception of karlie (for example) based on what taylor is putting out there, while making convenient exceptions for any interpretation they find that works to reinforce their already negative perception of her. and then after bitching about her they’ll cover their timeline in lisa frank dolphins because apparently that’s what paradise is. i dunno. it all feels dystopian to me atp 😆

You sure JK is queer and loves jimin ? I'm genuinely asking lol. Because he's doing everything he can do to show he's so into girls and a fuckboy, just like how he wanted to be seen since the beginning of his career. Both song are so westernized and hetero af. I dont think a man who's queer, in a long term relationship with a man, who loves to sing and respect his art so much will accept this work. Disappointed af and so close to drop JK and Jikook. I kinda liked jK because I thought he's Jimin's partner now that he's proving he's not.. why should I carry a baggage of another man when I can concentrate only on my Jimin ?
I feel gaslit when you guys ask me over and over if I think Jikook are queer or are dating every single time your feelings are bruised by your subjective experience of them in certain moments.
Like why would I think otherwise?
I get exhausted from repeating myself over and over. Yes I'm sure I think he's queer and yes I'm certain I believe he loves Jimin.
My perception of them is not grounded in the matching clothes and shoes they wear or the fan service or from any of those frivolous metrics some base their arguments on.
And I don't have a one dimensional view of them. I see them as human beings with imperfections who make mistakes fight make up break up throw up drink smoke and do all kinds of things the ordinary human being would. I hold that space for them TO BE TOTALLY HUMAN.
And if you saw them as human too you wouldn't reduce them to 1 dimensional creatures who only exist to love each other, prove that love to random insecure spectators and flaunt or validate their sexual identities.
Damn queer people can sing too and not make every damn moment of their lives or song lyric a political statement about their sexuality. That's just wrong of you to hold that sentiment.
Name a single queer artist who don't have a positively het song. From Sam Smith, Frank Ocean to Elton. They probably have some of the biggest straight not so straight songs in the world.
And this is even a conversation that we keep having in queer spaces. Queer artists leaning into heteronormative lyric standards due to commercial motives or fear of coming out is not for you to exploit as bases for your distrust or dislike of an artist.
It's his personal choice whether he wants to sing about boys or girls or chihuahuas. And he is free to sing about whatever he wants. Let's start there.
And this is tone deaf as fuck. You are disappointed because he is not making his work, his bread and butter, his means of making a living all about your bias.
But what of the queer teens and youth who support him and wish for representation and inclusivity? And you cared about representation at all then you would be happy with the diverse cast no? Because that would be a step in the right direction? Cos we need sign language interpretars in there, Trans, and the whole gang up in there if we talking bout representation but no. This is what you is worried about.
Well fuck boy or not he is not fucking you. You shouldn't worry about that. Let Jimin worry about that. It's his D to take.
It's one thing to say you don't enjoy his song lyrics but to conflate that with his entire personality, you are so out of line

With Lestappen, the bias toward fics that center on taking care of Charles in some way, shape or form probably stems from the fact that, historically, he’s the one who has suffered more at the hands of his team and had obvious low points to base stories around while Max has been finding more success. Of course we’re seeing Max experience some of those familiar struggles now, but I know there are a lot of fics out there that are “fix-it” types that focus on Max supporting Charles through Ferrari’s bullshit in various ways, be it hurt/comfort or just fucking him about it lol
I also totally understand wanting to have a rant about not being able to find more of what you want to read, but I don’t think it’s totally fair to pick on a whole fandom’s worth of authors for writing a dynamic how they want to. Fanfic authors share their work for free and aren’t obligated to appeal to anyone. It will always be more productive to take the time to show the work you like a positive response than to criticize what others are doing!
Ferrari definitely do like to make their drivers suffer don't they 😂😆
Although I think it's fair to say that Max has not always had things easy in F1 both in terms of the car and media perception. Max having a dominant car was a short lived and recent thing, he just really made the most of it 😂
I totally get what you mean though, there have been some very significant Ferrari screw ups over the past few years that have very understandably been the basis of some fics and of course some nice hurt/comfort. I know I have definitely written about this type of thing before.
In terms of 'picking on a whole fandom's worth of authors' I don't think that is what the anon was getting at. Or at least that was not the way I read it. They likely have seen on my blog that I love omega Max and bottom Max and so felt it was a safe space to have a discussion. I don't think they were saying the bottom Charles fics didn't have a space or were poorly written or anything like that.
As for myself, I have always said that there are so many talented writers out there and would never criticise anyone.
My comment about not liking fics that are written by people who clearly don't like one of the ship is just a personal preference of mine. It most definitely stems from starting to read some "Max" fics and realising the author most definitely doesn't like him and writes him as this awful person. I don't comment on the fics though, I just skip them and move on ❤️

Game canon Eggman is pure evil y'all, rest assured to my fellow evil Eggman enjoyers. He's never acted for any reason that wasn't fueled by his evil/selfish intentions. I've carefully analyzed him in all of his scenes for hours and hours for years and years. I don't need to theorize, speculate, or insist on personal interpretations to get to this conclusion because I specifically go by what the games tell and show me undeniably.
I analyze very literally, not abstract or based on how I feel about it, only literally what I can see and hear. I feel this avoids a lot of unnecessary confusion and complication and it can actually be this way and yet still have a lot of depth to it to explore despite this. I don't see appeal in straying too far with the what ifs rather than the literals that are deliberately blatantly presented because the former is when bias can seep in.
But I know some probably think, "If you think I'm biased because I don't like pure evil Eggman so I don't want to see him as such, why aren't you biased for not liking less than pure evil Eggman? What if you're just seeing what you want to see?" But with the way I only go by what's blatantly there to see and hear in the games themselves in bold explicit forms, I feel I avoid any chance of bias.
I don't like to admit this but when I was younger, I had some incorrect interpretations about Eggman. Yes, even me. XD I never thought he was this completely good and caring guy but I definitely didn't have the most accurate understanding of who he was, how he'd act in certain situations, and what he is or isn't likely to say or do. A lot of my own personal biases at the time were to blame.
Years of heavy studying and analysis got me to where I am now. And I realized he said or did the exact opposite in the games to what I thought he'd do or wrote in my silly private fanfics back then. So I started to look at him neutral and unbiased, without expecting or wanting anything specific and letting it influence my perception. Only exactly what I could hear him say and see him do instead.
I rebuilt my understanding into what it is now and ever since, it has stayed completely consistent. Every new piece of media just reaffirms it or gives me new stuff to add that tracks and doesn't contradict the old in the slightest. I'm still having new revelations, discoveries and eyes opened to new things about him but they only further prove, develop, and strengthen my understanding now.
This was all done by me just shutting off these biased parts of my mind and letting the game canon show me who he was, not by my own personal desires and influences. Then I realized I was such a big fan of what I understood him to be, all of my desires turned into loving game canon Eggman for exactly who he was and wanting him to stay the funny pure evil bastard he is. And he does! 💜
But yeah because of that, even though my old perception years ago certainly wasn't the same level as those that spread misinformation of him being way nicer, softer, and morally good than he is in the games, I know what it's like for bias to influence me in some ways. And those little things I believed then are far different from what I know now, so this isn't an example of me being biased lol
I'm very happy that I came to fully recognize, embrace, and appreciate his funny but very much pure evil self! And one of the main goals of my blog besides expressing my passion, is to help people learn more about him and understand him too because I swear, your enjoyment and appreciation of him can grow so much stronger when you do. I love when I'm told I've helped with that!
But if you really don't like that he's pure evil because it makes you uncomfortable, that's fine. But there's a difference between not wanting to see it because you don't like it and what happens in the games. And if you don't like game canon Eggman like that, I have a lot of respect for you if you admit that and just do something different in your fan stuff, without claiming it to be fact.
But game canon Eggman canonically being a funny silly but very evil and threatening bastard man personally fills me with immense joy and it's why I adore him so much. It's endless fun and entertainment! 🥰💜

Ok, I finished I.N's part, can I rant about my favorites? 😭 I love all of them!! But, listen:
I'm in love with Seungmin's because of his wife lmao I just love her. She's so oblivious it made me wanna hug her, like "Girl... you really don't have a clue, do you?" but NOT IN A MEAN WAY, it's just cute. And Seungmin seems so in character lol this is the most precious for me.
Then we have I.N's and something about his just seem so... realistic. It must be really hard to try to protect your family privacy when you're famous, and being an idol, where there's this culture of being "loyal" to your fans, it just makes sense that he'd be freaking out! But at the same time, when the test came positive, it's so beautiful how he hugs his family and gets in the "we'll get through this, this is a blessing" mindset.
And last but definitely not least, my boy Changbin 😭 having hard conversations, being considerate (as he should), aware that it would be hundred times harder for her to go through all of this without her husband by their side... just him wanting to BE THERE and, again, the communication 😭 also Changbin as a girl dad has my whole heart 💖
I wrote 3 paragraphs on an ask, I'm going to shut up now. I just hope u know that I loved your writing and how your mind works lol this whole series is amazing.
Hello! Please don’t be shy, I love hearing from people!
Oh, I love that you mentioned the 3 parts I had the most trouble writing…😅 But I think those are the parts I enjoyed writing the most, they’re also so different!
You have wonderful observations for them too, I didn't realize of some things while I was writing... but you've got them!
I didn’t realize how Seungmin’s Reader came across until you mentioned it… and now we all know why she is not a neurosurgeon. I think that is the funniest Reader too, I’d like to hang out with her. (I have the silliest thing cooking for part 2, I think it’s going to be so sweet it’ll turn people Seungmin biased, and it's in great part thanks to your comments!) Fun fact: Seungmin is my bias wrecker! I didn’t know this before writing his part.
I’m so sorry if I.N’s story was a little too real (?) I tried to represent what my perception of them is in each of their parts, that’s also why I wrote a version for each member and they were all kind of the same topic but different situations (hope I make sense).
Not going to lie, I am in my Binnie feels right now… he is so interesting as a person and as an artist, I admire his mental strength a lot… and I am glad we agree he is girl dad material! 💜
Thank you so much for reading the series and sending this and also for interacting with the posts! It makes me feel happy and encourages me to keep sharing my silly stories! 🥹❣

This is asking more of ur opinion. Are there any Kpop boy group or girl group relationships that u genuinely love ? Because from what I’ve seen, the dynamic relationships between groups are not good. So, I’m just curious if there is sth genuine out there.
before the feud between chuu and bbc, her former company, i really loved loona at that time, they were my ults to be honest but after the drama between bbc and the girls in loona themselves, i started to support the girls individually (unfortunately not financially bc i am really broke, the best thing i could do was to stop streaming their songs on spotify and whatever i had on tidal to support the boycott as best as i can and currently i listen to them either on podcasts or illegally with .mp3 audios depends on the device i use). i really support 12 of them and even though my bias is hyunjin, i loved all of them and still support the girls individually and i won’t be suprised if their relationship is really that genuine if i do readings about them.
the other group i ulted before (now not so much bc of my changed perception about k-pop as a whole tbh) was bts (ik it’s too common) and it’s the same for them: jin being my bias didn’t matter as long as i support all of them.
they are one of the groups that i didn’t feel any bad vibes from anyone (i felt something with heejin at first but it wasn’t as strong as anyone else i’ve felt, and this feeling stayed for a day or so probably because all of loona is just made for each other friendship-wise)
the bad vibes i’ve felt at first was unfortunately for the popular idols (of course, not everyone) but if i have to say anyone whose i’ve felt these bad vibes that would be nayeon/twice, mia/everglow, jennie/blackpink, enhypen but i am not sure if this alignes to all of them or not, yujin/iz*one,ive (this started after iz*one for some reason and i really felt switch), minnie/idle, and there might be more but yeah. the bad vibes doesn’t mean they’re bad bad person but that i don’t vibe with them. this doesn’t stop me to listen to their music or be a fan of their group, i really shut myself bc my opinion doesn’t matter as long as the idols do what they want and are happy
about groups that i don’t think they vibe well, from my readings they might be enhypen (definitely the worst for now), blackpink (probably because their contract ends?), ive, kep1er (i just don’t feel their friendship for some reason, i do like some members’s vibes, like yujin, bahiyyih, yeseo, xiaoting) and they’re the most impactful that i’ve felt lol
for groups that i like their vibes, for now definitely zb1! txt might have good vibes as a whole too, there is also no one that i didn’t felt bad vibes from, the same applies to red velvet, shinee (even with their member in eternity, yes), astro (the same that applies to shinee applies to them) but that’s my personal opinion and my tarot cards will show their vibes in the future lol (for zb1 i am certain they’re really that positive)
there’s genuine idols but it feels they are in your handful when you do raffle with some written paper of their names (sorry if that doesn’t make sense)

Hi Star, I have a silly question,,,
I've been fixated on Vanessa A. for very long and have constructed this narrative where she's an Afton because she married Michael Afton in their twenties. After he dissapears, she gets a call from him telling her to stay away from Freddy's. She doesn't listen and searches for him anyway, discovering that he used fake names and lied about everything, fueling her obsession with finding him.
Then Glitchtrap finds her and uses her for his own purposes, due to his murder obsessed ego and petty grudge against Michael probably
Vanessa at one point writes a note "flowers for your grave" and orders chocolate despite not eating sweets. This would imply that she was visiting Michael's grave, which just breaks my heart into a million pieces and makes me want to scream into a pillow like a child
William is trying to brainwash her into thinking she's his daughter, which is just sick.
I think Vanessa is determined and broken and she blames herself for Mike's disappearance. She is absolutely my favourite character out of all of FNaF lore and I can say that it's because of my selfish and dillusional attatchment to her LMAO
I struggle to express her story correctly. Do you have any advice as an author?
(you dont need to answer this, i also just wanted to say that your fanfics bring me so much serotonin thank u *holds a thumbs up*)
Aww, thank you, friend! I’m glad you enjoy my stories! And what an interesting premise! I’d be happy to offer some words of wisdom. Keep in mind that everyone’s got different advice to offer and different views on writing, and this is merely mine!
Now, without knowing exactly what you’re struggling with, my advice to you is really allow yourself to explore Vanessa internally. This can really help show her inner struggles and determination and guilt. I sometimes see authors—not just of fics—who rarely go beyond the surface-level parts of a character (not that that's a bad thing!). Let’s quickly define external, surface-level, and internal characterizations:
External: facial expressions, body language, actions, reactions, habits, etc. (these are details that can be observed)
Surface-Level: preferences, obvious thoughts/emotions, intentions, etc. (think of this one like what a standard movie can do: we see the character, maybe we get some flashbacks, and there might be voiceovers for internal thoughts. but everything we see inside the character is deliberately shown to us)
Internal: how their emotions feel rather than what they are (difference between saying “they were sad” and “their throat was tight, a sob getting stuck somewhere behind their sternum. they trembled and closed their stinging eyes. the gathered tears slipped free, tracing slowly down their cheeks, warm, but only for a moment.”), their bias/thoughts/reactions to what’s happening without it being so clear-cut, their unspoken wants/needs, their secrets and memories, etc. (the story is largely told by them, and a lot of the story is colored by the character’s perception/experiences/thoughts/etc.)
These are very closely tied to the point of view you choose, and obviously, if you’re not telling the story in Character A’s POV, you can’t dig into their internals. And not every story needs to be deeply connected to a character. I’m personally a believer in character-driven stories (did a paper on that once, actually, lol) and love love love really getting to flesh out my characters. When you use internal characterizations, you’re telling the story through someone. It’s an excellent way of giving the reader a chance to understand and connect with your character.
Here’s an example of how the deeper into a character you go, the more you can show:
He sharply raised his hand, and she flinched. Her eyes squeezed shut, but she didn’t move away.
There are only external things here, a reaction that a witness could see. We aren’t in her head at all.
He sharply raised his hand. She flinched, already anticipating the sting of a slap. Stupid, she berated herself, shaking in place. Now you’ve really made him angry.
We’re in her head, but it’s all spelled out. Her thoughts are clearly marked rather than a part of the storytelling itself. We’re not truly seeing the world through her eyes.
He sharply raised his hand. With a little stuttered gasp, she flinched. It took everything in her not to throw herself backward, but that would only make him angrier. She shouldn’t have done that; why had she done that? Her thoughts ran on loop, panic choking her. Tense, she waited, the sour taste of fear clawing up her throat.
We are deeply inside this character. We aren’t seeing conscious thoughts; we’re experiencing this moment with her. The story is told through her reaction and reasoning and feelings.
Like I said above, this style is really good for when the emphasis is on the character. Keep in mind, of course, that not everything in the story has to be super descriptive. Sometimes, characters just do stuff or go from point A to point B. Moderation makes it so the times you do highlight the character's inner workings are notable.
If you’re having trouble with something else, such as plot, then this might not be very helpful, whoops. That would be entirely different advice. Regardless, I hope this helps even just a little, friend! Thank you for asking, and I’d be more than willing to ramble about a different part of storytelling if that would help! ;) I did go to college for this, lol.

Now that you talked about seungri I want to pour my a heart a little if thats okay apart from Tops perception😅 I can't describe how much I hate this guy from a woman's perspective when I think about what other women went through What he and the people did to women, these chats and he was not the only one so many people were involved. And he definetly is an example as you said how at the end of the day men are men. Apart from not knowing idols 100% hell not even 1% of their real me we shouldn't be surprised when someone pulled some shit like that. When Top posted the ot4 picture cropping him out I have to say I was enlightened cause apart from not knowing them personally I would've hate it if anyone still supported him in any way. (With cnblue recently being nostalgic about jonghyun like bfr this guy harmed so many and yet you are laughing? Or hyuna marrying this guy from beast who had been involved in these chats just cause he actively didn't grape someone doesn't mean he is innocent cause he knew the videos were filmed without concent and he had the audacity to make fun of it + he was the ex of her friend) And would have stopped listening to them in general lol. Morals should be higher than our fangirling. Seungri was not my bias but nobody can deny the fact he was an entertaining member on shows thats true. Still he deserves to be dragged and I hoped that he and the other people rotted a longer sentence. It sometimes bothers if members knew. I don't think 100% want went down in the club with all these prostution thing but also kinda aware that he was im some shady things? I remember Top being open about it on radio star, how he worry about seungri not hanging out with them anymore and how he doesn't like some his friends. Usually you do talk about it privately but he talked about it AGAIN on a tv show. Feels like they warned him extra on tv so he knows the consequences. Or gd dissing him and his friends in his solo song middle fingers up. Its so mindblowing what all happened. Also that I don't have an eye for men. Like the groups or the first biases that I stanned somehow did fucked up things its crazy😅
WAIT!!!! MY BITCH HYUNA MARRIED HIM?!?!?! WHAAAAAT WHAT A FUCKING MINUTE?! SIS U LYING!?

Some things about myself I probably won't post ever again:
I go by the name Violet or Shieon
I am 32 years old right now
I work in a hospital for almost 2 years now (trying to get out of healthcare lol)
I have communist/Marxist politics and discourse
I live in America all my life but I despise this country
I am half Korean and Vietnamese and have very distant Russian in me
I am a nonbinary person who uses She/Her pronouns but used to be on testosterone between 2015-2018 (I identified as a transmascuine person for about a decade)
I am bisexual and monogamous… I've had 6 ex-girlfriends and one (shitty) ex-bf
I used to live 20+ years with an abusive, narcissistic mother and occasionally talk about mental health or the past at times online to vent or cope
I am a spirit worker and demonolator (I have a hereditary intuitive gift from my Korean grandmother and can see human spirits sometimes), I work primarily with demonic beings or just demons in general
I work with over 200+ spirits and entities and I do practice witchcraft for awhile now
I have a lot of spiritual knowledge and personal experience with many paranormal incidents and situations that I never talk about online
I have a close connection with a German human spirit since 2018 so it's pretty normal for me to post about him online at times
I met my partner Mikal through my job and we've been together almost 2 years now and almost known of each other for 3 years
I have a 10 year friendship and connection still with my ex-partner Michi…my best friend really
When I was more active on Tumblr in my 20s I was a viral type of person on this platform with thousands of followers… I'm pretty low-key now
I am anti-fascist, anti-Zionist, and anti-Nazi, and especially anti-imperial… I really don't care for people who shill for oppressive or hegemonic systems, or just act passive or try to come up with reasons these things are "good"
I am a Virgo, and Libra Rising and Cancer Moon
I've had my purple hair for about 8 years now
I am a creative and artist, I aspire to be a comic artist and I love blogging and simple pleasures, and living unapologetically as myself
I do not like anyone who crosses my boundaries, has hidden intentions with me or acts strategic with me, or projects their own issues onto me.. I tend to be a loner so I don't like encountering people who have a history of using others, abusing them, or think being mean is quirky, or just have manipulative behaviors.
I can write so much more lol but I'm someone with a long history of dealing with abuse and domestic violence and I'm very perceptive about people's psychological undercurrents
I don't like those that put me on a pedestal or do not properly get to know the real me but idealize or create an image of what they believe I am based on appearance bias, selfies, or stereotypes of me as an Asian person or someone who has a feminine presentation
And for funsies...I fit the personality type of Light Yagami from Deathnote or Askeladd from Vinland Saga the most, and I am a carbon copy of Yuichi from Tomodachi Game …if you want to know the kind of person I am based on fictional characters, I resemble Yuichi.
And that's all I can think of.. I've had a migraine for a few days and finally recovering from it.

"I think it’s funny on here how people are so mean and aggressive to you and insulting. I mean, can’t people just have a conversation without insulting each other?"
Yes! Preach, anon! There are ways to get your point across without cussing and name calling. From all of us. Just like I believe we can all express our perceptions of J and the people in his life without being blatantly nasty and keep in mind that they are people too.
In case you didn't see my comment on my last post, K, I am sorry that "grandma" came out insulting in the way it did. I 💯 called us old 😂 but it was truly meant more like a 'go sit ya old lady bones down now' and not the insult it was interpreted as. 1. That'll teach me for having the audacity to think I can walk and type lol and 2. It's a great reminder that we can't see each other's expressions or hear our tones here.
"I mean most of information is speculative anyway unless you were physically there when when it happened with the people you were talking about. Seeing a post online that is third-party really doesn’t give you the whole picture."
Exactly. And unless we're discussing a M&G or a concert, the likelihood that ANY of us was there is slim. We're only seeing the tiny snip of the situation that the poster chose to focus on, good or bad. A photographer could have captured 100 photos of JL and VK walking together and chosen to post the 6 where he's walking ahead of her to give their narrative OR had 50 pictures of an argument and chosen to share the 2 where it looks like he's saying something sweet to her to paint the picture they want to share.
Video is a little better but still easily manipulated. You have the minutes recorded and nothing more. We have no idea what was said or what was happening before a clip and we have no idea what was said or happened after. Still pretty easy for the one behind the camera to share in a light that fits their bias and opinion.
My really long point is that we're all seeing things through other's eyes and then also interpreting them individually. We don't need to be so defensive or so critical of what we think we've uncovered.
Fair enough but personally I find it preposterous and quite frankly insane that now suddenly 7 LONG YEARS AFTER THAT MALLORCA VACAY HAPPENED, eeeeeveryone thinks that his shriek had nothing to do with hiding VK´s presence when every single person (and I do mean EVERY SINGLE PERSON) 7 years ago was 1000% sure that it absolutely had everything to do with hiding VK´s presence. 🥱

I know for an absolute fact that there are people out in this world that DO, fetishize, objectify and I’d like to add, romanticize black people. I am not arguing that and I’m never going to deny it because I have experienced it first hand. So began my understanding of how the world perceives black people, and people who are visibly black. Now I want you to hear this part, very very closely;
I am not a product of anything.
Again, there are people who fetishize interracial sex, which I’m really sick of seeing. It’s cringy that people point out someone’s ethnicity in general, if they find them attractive. Porn videos with titles pointing out and sections on porn sites for “interracial,” “Asian,” which is the worst if we’re being honest with ourselves here. “Ebony,” and “Latina.” My parents are a lot of things but they are not, this. Okay? Yeeesh.
In general, the actual consensus is that we as a visibly brown-skinned people do NOT get chosen as serious parters in any capacity, and married to most other ethnicities. Despite all the dangerous exoticization, fetishistic ideologies that we are allll domineering and just sex-seeking, uncivilized heathens that are going to grab everyone and grope them out of nowhere. Who also assume our position as alphas, and that if they aren’t intimidated to this idea of what a black person is and are attracted to us, assume that we should aaaalllll take the lead in the bedroom. In actuality, that’s all people who don’t understand their own implicit racial bias and some who also don’t care. And those who know and don’t have a means to work through that by finding someone like me which isn’t necessarily their fault depending on their circumstances. But ultimately that is all that people think that we are, if they aren’t violent or villainizing us all, which is also due to the weirdly disproportionate idea that we’re “taking over.” If it’s not that, We are all just an interesting and exotic one-night stand to them. So Perpetuating the ideology that we should actively seek people that are the same skin color as us doesn’t solve this. Nor does it stop the mixing of races. The dehumanization stays. The perception that we are a threat, and ignorance stays. In fact makes it worse. It only further alienates us from the whole other population that we should connect with and simply beee, ourselves. You can of course have a preference and code for yourself, I’m not telling you who you should be with but you cannot say that it is beneficial and isn’t dangerous to have everyone of a particular ethnicity in one bubble. That’s segregation, and segregation was the sole proprietor for which we were denied ANY good care, jobs, schools, you name it. Do you really want to tempt racist fair-skinned people with this regressive mindset? Cause we will certainly go back to that again and everything that our brethren in the past have fought for will be lost to the depths of the oblivious or self-indulgent white patriarchy. And speaking of the patriarchy, also why are you trying to dictate who black women sleep with? Why do you think you have all the answers? Leave black women alone. That is none of your business. (I say black women cause most men certainly are not gonna hear you out on this one, lol.)
And if ANYBODY, intentionally occupies CONSTANTLY, ANY particular area (whether that’s online or in person,) that is heavily occupied by people of a specific ethnicity and you don’t talk to any other types of people then that is a red flag to me I’m afraid to say. That is a red flag of favoritism of one type of ethnicity over others and it’s elitist as all hell and it hurts people. When it’s someone of a different ethnicity than the places they occupy, I’m not gonna say it’s always predatory because it doesn’t always have to be but it definitely. Usually is. This is pretty dangerous, anyone using someone’s ethnicity as a measure of their worthiness as a partner
Also, let’s be honest with ourselves here. you fetishize black women with your posts and reposts constantly.
Tumblr media
Peace and Love, Black Family! Over the past few months, I’ve sacrificed a few comforts in exchange for growth. For those who don’t embody the same “Race First” ideology as myself, this may not seem like growth. But this post or my profile may not be for you anyway!——In my view, blame is a heavy burden that should not be placed on the shoulders of children, who have no say in the circumstances of their birth. The child of an interracial relationship is a product of choices made by adults, and to hold them accountable for those choices would be unfair. The question of the preservation of the Black family is a separate issue and should be discussed in its own context. Adults who make the decision to enter into interracial relationships ought to fully consider the implications for their community and their family. Many Blacks involved in interracial unions will defend their choices as love, when it’s actually self-hate expressed as fetishism. From a any standpoint, fetishism can only perpetuate harmful stereotypes and objectification of individuals based on their race or other marginalized identities. It contributes to the dehumanization and exoticization of Black people, whether they identify themselves as a phenotypical African or not. Interracial fetishizing only reinforces power imbalances and reinforces the idea that our worth is solely based on racial assimilation. Fetishization in many cases leads to fetishistic violence, exploitation, and discrimination against Black people, further losing ourselves in this society. It is crucial to recognize and challenge these harmful dynamics to promote Self-love, solidarity, and independence amongst likeminded Black people. GET ON CODE. STAY ON CODE. 🩸💣🔫✊🏾 BLACK POWER! #blackpower #blacklove #blackman #blackwoman #blackempowerment #blackrevolution #blackrevolutionary #revolution #truth #knowledge #blackconsciousness #blackkingsandqueens #blackpower #blackqueen #blackunity #blacksunite #blacksunited #blacknationalism #african #panafrican #blackpeople #blackowned #malikismindful

Repost: Ask on Why I Think Jimin is the Best Dancer in BTS
Anonymous: Hello, I hope you are having a wonderful week. I have obviously been going through your blog and love it. It's baffling to me that Jimin is not your bias lol. The way you write about him comes across as though he is one of your bias lol. I love what you wrote about him or any other members. I do want to know a bit more about your opinion about their dancing as well as their performance skills. You mentioned that you think Jimin is the best dancer. Now this is obviously a subjective opinion and a lot of fans would come at you for it but I am really interested to know why you think that. What makes Jimin better than J-Hope even though more than half the fandom will fight you on it? I also want to know a bit more about your perspective on their performance skills. I personally think Jimin is the best performer in the group and most likely one of the best if not the best performers in Kpop. However, I don't think he is the best dancer. He is definitely a good dancer but I wouldn't rate him about JHope. In saying that though, I find him to be the most charismatic performer which sometimes if not often overshadows other members skills. People tend to look at him in performances and feel thatt he is the best dancer whereas I feel that he is the most charismatic one in stage. I dont know if he realizes that often after performances he becomes the centre of attention and has calmed down because of it. I have found him quieter in recent performances and am wondering why that is. It almost felt to me that he was willingly side lining himself which doesn't make sense if your job is to basically perform. However I have also noticed other members fans complaining about him standing out so maybe the members and company have had this discussion. Who do you think are the best performers in BTS?
I rate my performers as below:
1- Jimin
- JHope
3- V
4 - JK, Suga and RM but JK slightly above Suga and RM and more closer to V.
5- Jin
Just wanted to know your thoughts. Lastly, why isn't JHope as well known for his dancing skills or his performance skills as Jimin? I would say he is the best dancer in BTS and one of the best in KPOP but I don't hear as much about his dancing. Is the preference given to the better looking member? The first thing I noticed when I got into BTS is Jimins looks above everything else so does that give him advantage? Now I am not saying Jimin isn't a good dancer. He is equally as good but maybe JHope has an edge. Please note that this is not to shade any members. I am just curious about it.
**
(this will be a long one for no other reason than me rambling a bit. Sorry everyone. :))
Hi Anon,
Sometimes it surprises me that people are surprised I can speak very positively of someone I don’t bias (lol what is going on in the fandom if this isn’t normal?) but on the other hand I kind of get it. It’s easy to develop tunnel vision to think your bias walks on water while everyone else is only barely decent.
I like Jimin. I’ve always liked him for his artistry, thought he was hot, and later came to like him as a person, but that latter bit took some work for me. I had to work through prior assumptions and narratives I had about him. So now, I kinda like showing off how much I like him, if that makes sense. Also, every few days I get asks from antis, taekookers, or just general weirdos that sometime give me added motivation to remind us all that Jimin hung the sun and moon in the heavens, Jimin turned water into wine, and that Jimin is an interesting, intelligent, and beautiful person whose face you should want to sit on.
Not everything I think about him is positive, obviously, just as I have my own quips about all the members. But as I said in my long-form post on hate (linked here), I choose not to highlight those things often all over the internet, based on my very subjective perception. Too many people seem to enjoy doing that already, and I’m not interested.
I noticed jikook about the same time, and I think it’s impossible to be into jikook, to see and appreciate what they are, without liking both Jimin and Jungkook. (Unless you’re a rival shipper - then seeing what they are might just trigger you.)
This might be hard to believe, but I struggle to articulate and write on things I really really like, to strangers. As I’ve said many times before, I run a separate music blog with some friends, and our process becomes a bit… inefficient when I have to write about certain artists I really like, such as Tyler Joseph. My friends help me a lot during those times, they take my blathering ramblings and make it coherent. I come off as a bit unhinged talking about things that really excite me, so the somewhat calm/coherent but perhaps excessively adoring posts you all see me write about Jimin, are quite possibly the biggest proof he’s not my bias. Lol.
Guess I’m just weird that way.
*
Main answer:
Usually, the ‘best dancer’ debate is one I’m completely uninterested in participating in. I don’t think it matters very much who anyone says is the best dancer in the group. Most of us can tell BTS’s two main dancers: J-Hope and Jimin, are fairly equal in skill and better than most other dancers in the entire industry at the most basic level. And when it comes to comparing two members in any area, I don’t see it as a big deal. All our views are almost entirely subjective (“almost” because technical skill can be critically assessed, and is usually plain to see), and none of this is that serious anyway. Who cares if I think Jimin is a better dancer, like I’m nobody, right?
But you know, being a Hobi bias and talking about dance sometimes requires some delicacy, because aside from his skills which are objectively incredible, a lot of the narratives around Hobi are things he himself has actively crafted from scratch, or have been explicitly spoon-fed to fans over the years, from magazine publications, interview hosts and even BTS themselves. So taking an opposing view can be seen by some as being against Hobi himself because of how he’s expressed his own view of his dance skills, which is very different from how Jimin describes his relationship with dance, something that he too is obviously passionate about. For example, look at this interview and see how both Jimin and J-Hope talked about dance.
From Anan Magazine June 2017.
Tumblr media
In case the text is too small to read, I’ll quote the relevant section:
“I hope I am behind no one in dance. I don’t want to lose to anyone in dance.” He’s basically expressing his passion for dance, but he frames it by first declaring how he wants to be the best and not be behind anyone.
Tumblr media
Jimin by contrast speaks about it very generally but personally too, apparently unconcerned with how he compares to anyone else. Even later on in Jimin’s interview when he talks about singing, he says he wants to be a good singer everyone can approve of. The element of outranking people is not a sentiment that’s present at all in his descriptions.
Let’s look at some more interviews.
Tumblr media
.
Tumblr media
Note in both cases, dance is alluded to, but for Jimin it’s only implied and towards the end.
(Aside, this interview is so interesting to read because it’s one of few that shows them all being very innocent and unguarded. For example, the boys have hinted here and there over the years that the most image-conscious member is V (which would make sense given his social intelligence), but in this interview they explicitly say it. And this contrasts with some more dominant views in the fandom that say it’s J-Hope that is most image-conscious. But it’s always been V, and the boys confirm it here. There are similar small but candid descriptions of other members in the interview too.)

…and would still be told point blank J-Hope is the best dancer.
*
Anon, one reason it’s taken me some time to answer your ask is because I was looking for a specific interview and I can’t find it. I vaguely recall in that interview, J-Hope is explicitly asked how he feels being the dance leader but having Jimin be more known for his dancing (despite all the times J-Hope is declared to be the best dancer in the group and this is something that the members have said louder and louder as the years went by…), and J-Hope replies that yes it’s sometimes hurtful to not be recognized for his work, but that Jimin is also a great dancer he’s learned from and I think he also said something about how that means he needs to work harder. I remember when that interview dropped the energy in the fandom was off for a bit, and maybe it’s only coincidence Hobi akgaes started becoming bffs with taekookers around the same time. I personally felt for Hobi in that interview and it was a bit hard for me to watch (I’ve previously written about how the hype around Jimin’s dancing was something that used to annoy the heck out of me). Anyone who knows the interview I’m talking about please help a sister out with a link (I can’t even remember the year its from).
Anyway, my point is, if we’re going to use Jimin’s good looks (as though Hobi isn’t objectively good looking himself), Jimin’s charisma, etc, as reasons people think he’s a better dancer, it’s only fair to not discount how there’s very deliberate, consistent, and unrelenting messaging from practically everyone that also serve as reasons some people think J-Hope is a better dancer, regardless of what we both see with our eyes. Some in the fandom have tried to make peace by separating the competencies of the two, classifying Hobi as a Hiphop dancer (which he is), but categorizing Jimin as a Contemporary dancer (which he technically isn’t, but because he’s Jimin, somehow is, but also is definitely more than a Contemporary dancer).
*
J-Hope is one of the best dancers in the industry, but I’d also say he seems to be a very efficient dancer. He executes the moves in the most efficient ways while maintaining somewhat consistent energy throughout (look at his Go Go hip thrusts above for example), and sometimes that means sacrificing impact. Jimin by contrast, almost always goes all in, and that’s one reason I think he’s a better dancer. Jimin also has the most high-difficulty specializations in his arsenal, in my opinion, across all dance styles, and this is one reason he is irreplaceable to BTS. Without Jimin there’d be no Black Swan or Butterfly solos, there’d be none of those ads in 2015 - 2017 where he performed Contemporary style dances that helped build BTS’s profile in Korea and Asia, no b-boying aerial flips that till today helps establish BTS as a solid dance group despite most of the members clearly not being dancers, there’d be no Lie/Boy Meets Evil duet, and so on and so forth. J-Hope shines during dance breaks where he’s given free rein to do nothing but dance however he likes, Jimin shines more when there’s structure/choreography he’s perfected to the point it becomes an innate expression of how he feels the music. I just happen to like Jimin’s more.
*
I’m not sure how sensible it is to treat performing and dancing as two different things. I see why some people might separate them, but I think to dance is to perform. And while J-Hope too is an excellent performer, Jimin has elevated this to both a science and art.
I don’t know what Jimin ate before their 2019 SMA performances but he needs to stick to that diet cause his dancing was ridiculous.
Cause what the fuck was this?
youtube
I’m not even going to post the fancam for IDOL because people died. It is that good.
Anon you asked for a ranking. Here’s mine:
Jimin.
J-Hope.
Jungkook.
Yoongi tied with Taehyung.
Namjoon tied with Seokjin.
I’m surprised you say J-Hope isn’t well known for his dancing, because he is. If nothing else, ARMYs have made sure of it. Hobi doesn’t need my help in that department, I assure you.
:)
