I have yet to see an argument against rednote that is valid and not just the manifestation of the red scare and American exceptionalism. âBut.. but the CCP is stealing your data and selling it to their government!1!â WOAH REALLY? wow, I sure am glad that I use Facebook and Instagram instead, American apps that were some of the first ever worldwide to specifically steal and sell Americans information to the us government! I Really dodged a bullet there! âBut, but the CCP is commiting a genocide?!!â Yeah, and thatâs horrible, reprehensible, but so is what the United States has done, multiple genocides in the past few years alone actually, Syria, Yemen, Palestine, all genocides funded and influenced if not outright carried out by the United States government. âYeah well, well did you know that the Chinese are only nice to foreigners? They HATE eachother!!!â ???? Have you??? Seen ??? How?? We?? Have?? Treated?? Eachother?? The?? Past?? 8?? Years??? Like really? THATS your bombshell mic drop argument?? And finally, of course, âbut-but China wants to sell you PROPAGANDA!!â Like what? That the United States is an oppressive imperial entity that controls the world through fear?? Yeah, no fucking shit bitch, Iâve BEEN knew, I LIVE here. All of these arguments, all of these claims of American superiority, are the result of DECADES of carefully crafted propaganda and paranoia campaigns designed specifically to convince you that communism is some great unimaginable evil in order to shift your eyes away from the actions of our OWN government. We are no better, and no worse, than the CCP, and anyone who believes otherwise, is one of the hundreds of millions who has been successfully duped by the most powerful empire in the world.

electing a brown skinned cop who uses imperial feminism to reinforce American exceptionalism all while she backs the same colonial projects and state funded violence that allows for the re-criminalization of poverty, the erasure of civil rights, and the expansion prison industrial complex is not a win.
there are a multitude of ways and workings to disrupt, divest, and dismantle the masterâs house. kamala winning this election doesnât fix this lovecraft country. kamala winning this election means a return to our communities to manifest direct action, collective liberation, and radical abolition that upRoots fascism, imperialism, and white supremacy from our gardens.

Don't really know how to say this but thinking that the democratic party and that Joe Biden are the most pro-trans and pro-queer politics can get is why you're constantly begging for scraps. For the love of god your american exceptionalism is hurting YOU at this point, for ONCE please look at REAL leftist movements in the global south, look at the real achievements on politics and legislature that queer leftists on the global south have accomplished in the past few decades and then you may finally realize that the reason you're forced to depend on a broken non-democtactic bipartidary system without any real leftist representation is that you're taught to think that what you have is the best by the sole reason of being the Great United States of Muricaâ˘.

Quick. Someone tell Derrick about the Budapest Memorandum of 1994.
Also, maybe tell him that genocide is actually bad.
And then maybe tell him that an innocent country being attacked with Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles actually IS something you should care about. Especially as it WILL be YOUR problem if you don't help Ukraine win now and the russians start invading NATO countries.
And I must edit to add: the monster thinks the prices of petrol and eggs are more important "issues" than hundreds of thousands of innocent dead Ukrainians? How Christian of him.
American isolationism seems worse now than in 1939.
But then, I guess his profile says everything you need to know...

The way that Europeans in particular say "this is US-centric" or "typical Americans" when someone (usually a white person) acts ignorant or has privilege in another country (usually outside of Europe, the US and Canada, Australia and New Zealand) as a knee-jerk reaction is actually a sign of a much deeper issue.
(Buckle up, when I say "Europeans" in this post, I mean specifically Western, Central, and Scandinavian Europe. The ones with the history of colonialism and imperialism and the strongest, most influential economies and education systems. I know Scandinavia didn't colonize the Americas, but your education and welfare systems are so high-ranked, there's no excuse for the ignorance you display. Sorry boo.)
I never get mad about people insulting my country, because quite frankly, despite being born and raised in the United States, this is the same country that's committed hate crimes towards me and my neighbors and put its imperializing little hands on our ancestral homelands. We're the ones fighting every day to make this stupid-ass country a better place.
The reason Europeans defaulting to "America stupid" is such a horrible way to respond to a westerner acting out isn't because I'm in denial of American exceptionalism, but rather because Europeans exhibit the same behaviors, and by pushing it onto another country, shift any accountability for those behaviors aside, never to address them, let alone correct them.
There's just something so ironic about Europeans dubbing two entire continents with rich, ancient civilizations "the New World," systematically wiping out the thousands of cultures here and coercing everyone to live by their own...and then turning around and laughing at the mess they made, using it as a scapegoat for when they don't want to confront the terrible things they're still doing. They're pointing at the mirror and laughing at their own reflection. "I didn't do that, they did."
#europe#us#tears falling like peridots#american exceptionalism#eurocentrism#imperialism#also all these posts that have nothing to do with america getting the âew us centrismâ treatment from europeans like way to show your asses

the steps of curing exceptionalism for USAmerican leftists:
Baby step: America is not the best in everything
Hardcore: America is not the worst in everything
Impossible: America is not relevant in everything
#american exceptionalism#bonus exercise: stop using imperialist symbols aka hammer and sickle to be edgy in your local scene#like that symbol has nothing to do with you and everything to do with continued imperialism and colonialism in asia and europe

I need someone to explain the Banana Discourse on Twitter in small words. I might be wrong, but far it looks like an argument between
Western communists deciding the economic reorganization of South America towards "self-sufficiency" by taking away the USAmerican demand for bananas, and
White liberals insisting that South America is better off with the US buying bananas from them because collapsing the industry (somehow) would take away jobs.
Because boycotts totally work, nobody else eats bananas, those are the only two options, and South American people don't have any opinions about their own economy. Pick your imperialist.

Edit: Just found out the discourse is because "we must give up bananas for the good of South American socialism" lady brought up her cocaine habit as evidence that she wasn't moralizing pleasure. On being told that the cocaine trade fuels violent crime by drug cartels across South America, she tweeted:

The nightmares of bananas and cocaine production have nothing on the take industry by the hell nexus between white women and Tankies.
#i've deleted all the posts I've reblogged by that Marxist guy#also like...you realize you can talk about multinational corporations human rights violations#and the need for tighter regulationsâ anti-trust laws#and ecological conservation help#without making it all about whether US consumerism is good or bad right?? right???#anti communist#western leftists#tankies#imperialism#colonialism#american exceptionalism#ethnocentrism#twitter discourse#knee of huss

Rest in peace, Stanley Booth.
I woke up around seven this morning, proofread my final drafts, and hit âsubmitâ. Just in time, too âcause all thatâs left in my pantry are a few of those salty cheeseân-peanut butter sandwich crackers. Plus, the fridge is as cold and barren as the hearts of dozens of my previous umm, relationship misjudgments. Nary an egg to scramble or fry. Just a jar of kimchi. Good for the stomach they say.
So I was headed to the Stop and Shop (With the radio on) when I learned that the remarkable Stanley Booth died . Dammit.
Stanley didnât just dip his toe into the deep, mighty river that is American music, he dove in head first. Broke his back doing so, but he told that story better than I ever could.
Some wrote about the fathers of American music from a distance, offering their wisdom after playing a few sides of a record. Stanley befriended them, joining the legendary Furry Lewis as the old man made his rounds sweeping trash on Memphis streets.
Iâd inquired about his health a few years back and an intimate of his said âOh, ole Stanley is okayâ, signaling both that he wasnât and that there was to be no further discussion of the matter.
Iâll be listening to Let It Bleed tonight and rereading his Red Hot and Blue:Fifty Years of Writing About Music, Memphis, and Motherfuckers. The music Stanley celebrated wasnât written for TikTok, and neither is Boothâs writing. Iâll put the water on for coffee. Pull up a chair.

I'm irritated by commenters who complain about and "correct" language used by others, when their own understanding of language variations in the world is so limited.
These commenters are complaining about the video creator using "learnt" -- they rudely tell her that it's "learned" and she needs to "learn how to spell." They apparently do not know that "learnt" is perfectly correct spelling in British English. It doesn't ever occur to them, hmm, maybe there's something outside of what I know in my immediate world.
American sometimes maybe Amerishouldn't, tbh.
