Interesting update to Idol Land today, 4/17/2024. There were some things I expected, and some things I did not expect.
Tumblr media
Gaaruru has been added to Idol Land as promised. You can also currently play an open promise with her and Amari doing Go Go! PriPara Live.
Prism Stone Shop has been updated as well...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A lot of old MRs are back! Some Gaaruru stuff! Some Shuka stuff for some reason! Some coords that were only in the premium shop before!
But nothing new?
You could argue that they are re-releasing old coords because the game has a lot of new players recently, from people who discovered the anime to people who turned to Idol Land after the arcade game shut down. I mean, you could argue that. But.
But I just think they are out of coords.
I also find it very strange that they did not re-release Gaaruru's SCR even though they released it before? Did they forget? Or is it coming next week? (Well, that's 3,200 yen I don't have to spend I guess...)
Pop over to the Gatcha to find that...
Tumblr media
Gaaruru actually has a birthday gatcha!? I already made another post about this, but the PPR is actually her newest witch team PPR despite not being advertised and her actual birthday coord is an SR. Bizarre.
But also...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The original Evergold gatcha is back too?
Now. You could argue that these revival gatchas make more money than when they first came out because people regret missing out on them and feel more confident spending money now that we can recover our accounts. You could argue that.
But I just think they are out of coords.
Tumblr media
Gaaruru gets a birthday promise too! She's the only character to get both a gatcha and a promise! But the promise just has the Gaaruru school coord everyone already has. Why they previewed that and not her actual birthday coord, I do not know...
But, I've saved the most exciting updates for last...
Tumblr media
Double Pasharing was added! With two poses: Double heart, and violation ticket... I will make a separate post about this I think! But the new poses are selectable when you host a photo promise.
I believe this feature was teased from the very beginning so I'm confused as to why they waited so long to add it.
Perhaps it was the only thing they had partially developed laying around that they could add.
Also, at long last...
Tumblr media
Like many other games, you can now connect Idol Land to your Apple, Google, or LINE account to recover it! So, no more creating a password every 30 days! (Although I probably still will just to be extra safe!)
I will update and reblog my pinned post about this!
And, finally...
Tumblr media
When starting up Idol Land today, I noticed it asked me for the first time if I wanted to receive notifications. So, after all this time, the Idol Land app will finally send notifications.
These two features above are very basic and should have been available Day 1.
To think they did not consider if people are reminded about the app and able to recover their accounts, they might want to play more.
*sigh*

I have a question; when your either writing or drawing each character, what does their voices sound like?
Is it's just the normal voices that are used throughout the TF series?
Or do you have other people in mind for each character?
Because I'm over trying to be serious but each time I do, I can't help but laugh at how hilarious Starscream sounds when he is being either Serious or Emotional! (Not that I hate him, I ADORE THE HELL out of him)
I gotta know!
So!
Breaking the character asks to answer as the Mun here.
I don’t use voices from the TF series at all except for the humans (in which case Charlie Watson is still Charlie Watson and Memo Gutierrez is still Memo Gutierrez) mainly since: A. The human!versions have slightly differing characterizations in my mind. That I don’t see them as robots any longer for this universe also adds to that. B. The human!versions have diverse ethnicities and I usually try to voice-cast as close as possible to that (though there is some leeway ie. going Middle Eastern for Kurdish Optimus, going for Lucy Liu as O-Ren Ishii for Windblade, Tim Curry for Tarn which is a complete departure from their background)
Beyond their ethnicity, I look at their background as well ie. Megatron is British, but not in the way that TFA might sound (higher class, BBC pronunciation), more in the way that a Yorkshire miner might sound (going with his IDW incarnation) so someone like Sean Bean fits the bill.
The current full cast is as below.
Autobots
Optimus Prime: Jay Ali (as Rahul ‘Ray’ Nadeem in Daredevil) (young)/Oded Fehr (old)
Ultra Magnus: Amitabh Bachan
Ratchet: Pierce Brosnan (as Liam Hennessy in The Foreigner)

Perceptor: Dev Patel
Hot Rod: Taron Egerton
WindBlade: Lucy Liu (as O-Ren Ishii from Kill Bill)
Chromia: Danai Gurira (as Okoye from Black Panther)
Kup: Aysha Selim (as Ana Amari from Overwatch)
Drift: Takeshi Kaneshiro
Blaster: Ludi Lin (as Zack Taylor from 2017′s Power Rangers reboot)
Hound: James MacAvoy
Bumblebee: Tom Holland
Mirage: Tom Hiddleston
Nautica: Ana De Armas
Nightbeat: Idris Elba
Decepticons
Megatron: Sean Bean (as Richard Sharpe) (young), Charles Dance (as Tywin Lannister from GOT) (old)

[Drama CD]   7′Scarlet Limited Edition Bonus CD: According to the candy in the skull Translations
*Commissioned by @melynir, Thank you! *Spoiler free: Translations under cut
Commissions are still open!
Who is it…? Hurry and name yourself!
I can’t believe it...There’s a murderer among us?
Don’t do this, please! It’s not good to be suspecting each other like this...I can’t...I can’t stand doing this!
You can’t be joking, right? Are you serious? And in the first place…
Yeah. I’m dead serious. There’s certainly someone here among us who’s a murderer, wearing the facade of a human; an undead who has returned to the living.
7’Scarlet limited edition drama CD: According to the candy in the skull.
Undead…? I do know that there’s been a story being passed down around this place that dates back to a long time ago. But...are you...are you seriously saying that it’s true?
That’s right, Kushinada-san. Look. Look closely at the eyes of the owner. He doesn’t seem like he’s joking in the least bit now, does he? And he’s the one who brought it up…
Do you think I’d joke about something like this!? If you’re going to continue fussing about this and being in denial, Isora, I’m going to write you off as the undead himself!
Wha- Why!?
Calm down, both of you! How about you look at Kagatsuchi instead? It seems like he has somehow come to a conclusion about this matter.
R-Really!? Hino-kun!
...Well, I guess.
There’s no longer any need to withhold any information back. Now, Kagatsuchi. Will you tell us exactly what it is that you’ve figured out?
Ngh!
Very well. I’ve actually felt that something was off for quite some time now, but I simply shrugged it off, thinking that it was just my imagination. However, after watching his actions and behaviours for some time...that feeling only got stronger.
Enough of the long-winded talk, Kagetsuchi. Just point the guy out already. Who’s the undead? The murderer not of this world!
I’ll leave the explanations for later then. I’ll tell you who this murderer who’s been making the death toll increase here in Okuzaneto! The worst murderer of this generation! Are you all prepared?
Y-Yes, I am.
Yeah…!
Of course.
The undead...is you!!
What!?
Isora, you say!?
Heh. Hahahaha!! There’s nothing I can do now that I’ve been found out. I’m the undead that has just been introduced by yours truly…
Argh!! Wait a minute--! I really don’t want to act as the undead anymore! I don’t wanna!!
Hey! Isora! That line wasn’t written in the script!
It doesn’t have anything to do with the lines! I can’t help not wanting to do what I don’t want to! I don’t like it! Why do I have to be the undead!?
It’s a role that has to be filled!
You lost at rock-paper-scissors!
Just accept it already.
It’s not like I can, either! I’ve never died before, so I don’t understand how the undead’s supposed to be feeling!
Isora-kun...If your words are true, then you won’t be able to act. Acting, you see, is to express and show something that can never happen; to bring something that you;ve never experienced into reality. Actors who cannot act without having prior experience before will never make it far in this world and they’ll never be able to score a big job either!
You know...It’s not like I want to be an actor in the future or anything.
What? Neko-megane! You seem awfully knowledgeable about these things?
Ah! Could you, perhaps-!?
Urk! O-Oh no…
Could it be that-!?
Please, Hino-kun. Don’t go on any further…!
You’re an only child!?
Ah...That’s all?
Kagutsuchi...You should stop that habit of yours of immediately assuming any and everything. Plus I’ve never heard you assuming anything else about him, other than him being an only child.
I can guess his blood type too!
K-Kagetsuchi! If I may please hear more about that?
I don’t care about his status as the only child or his blood type! Can someone else please take the role of the undead!? It’s not for me. It’s not like I’ve ever acted before. I’m not really good at it and I don’t aspire to be an actor in the future either!
Isora! There’s no need for all that! The only question here is, will you do it or not?
He totally took Isora’s words as if he was just talking to himself…
It’s one thing to make Isora feel that strongly about something, but in all honesty, I’m not one to be putting up with this farce either. Besides, why do I, of all people, have to act in something like this? I am THE Yuzuki, you know?
It’s not like we have a choice either. We’re lacking in manpower. Plus, we only roped you in under the Owner’s orders via Yuki.
Honestly, for crying out loud...Right, someone go fetch Yuki here. I bet he’s the one who came up with the casting and the scenarios. I’m going to make him amend everything before my very eyes!
Yuki says that he’ll only be back late because he has some stuff to wrap up in a meeting regarding a live tomorrow.
A meeting, you say? So he’s off having tea with some idol while I’m stuck here being an embarrassment on his whim?
Well...But he said that Eito-san won’t be participating, despite being the lead. So everyone brought up the question of whether a meeting can really be held without the star.
But, she said that “I cleared my schedule the day before the show so I can give it my all when the live comes!”
Oh? Really? Wait, Neko-megane!? You’re awfully knowledgeable about Eito-sama…
Ahh!! Now, could you perhaps-!?
O-Oh no!!
Enough of this turn of events; we’ve heard it plenty.
This act of ours is supposed to come before that live, right? Why is this even required?
Seems like everything was set up according to Eito’s wishes! And Yuki whipped up a script real quick after having received the job.
Yuki seems really taken with Eito. I’m sure he went all “Leave it to me! I’ll pour all of my heart and soul into coming up with the script!”
I’m kind of indebted to him…
Even still, why did you have to drag all the people staying in this inn right now? Can’t you just leave this to the high-schoolers or something?
That was also because of Eito’s request. Am I right, Neko-megane?
“Yes. Hanamaki-san would be happier about it if that were the case. And I wanted to join too…”
“I wanted to join too?”
“No, I wanted to play the role of an adult once!” So, Yuki-kun said.
He was the one who wrote this script...but who would’ve thought that it would be centered around the undead. Isn’t this going too far?
Well, I think he also wanted to do something Okunezato-esque.
But it’s not all that unusual to do a play based on old myths and legends either, right?
Even after all that, this is still a piece that has quite a bit of suspense in it so we need actors with an adequate amount of acting ability.
How ridiculous. We’re not actors, therefore we’ve got no responsibility nor obligation to be acting in this.
Well, I don’t disagree with acting itself. It’s pretty fun, actually. Oh! Or is it that the Owner’s embarrassed to appear up the stage alone while acting?
Don’t be stupid. I’ve already gotten used to appearing alone a long time ago. Speaking off...I dare say that my acting skill is the best out of all of us here. I may look like this, but I’ve received the best pity acting award during my time in school when I had a part to play in the school’s play!
The best pity...acting...award? Isn’t that bad?
In any case! I’m taking my leave from here! I’m not signing to act like a bunch of monkeys under the farce of a play.
Wait. Don’t be so quick to come to a decision, Owner. Yuki-kun went through all the effort of writing the script! Are you sure you want to put all his hard work to waste? He, who managed to pen all of this down during his free-time even though he was all so busy? The script is one thing, but it must have been hard for him to set everything up like this. Adding all of the time he might have spent on this, just how much effort do you think he put into this?
...You’re actually counting them all?
It is said that the average pay is 50,000Yen. Which means that he should have netted about a hundred or so Yen per shift.
Has Sousuke-san gone stir-crazy…?
But he hasn’t sought payment as if he were working a shift. He was simply doing what he needed to be. Therefore, I think that he has to be repaid in some way, even if it’s to bring what he was working on into reality. Don’t you think so?
Ah...Someone should stop him.
Besides, if we’re so ready to blindside how much work a girl’s putting in, then perhaps we should make the men drop the amount of shifts they’re taking and-
Err, in other words, he’s trying to say that we should do it since Yuki had put so much effort into it. He’d be sad if we don’t so won’t you help us out here?
Amari! That’s just it! That was exactly what I wanted to say!
Seriously? All I just did just now was to wing it-
For Yuki’s sake…? It’s kind of unfair for you to be throwing such a lowball, but...I’ll do it.
Ehhhh? He accepted pretty readily!?
Only this time. And I have a condition.
What is it?
Change the script. It’s not good to be fooling around like that with a script revolving around the undead. It goes against the very will of Okunezato. No matter how much effort Yuki has placed into this, I won’t allow something like that.
After acting along with us this far? I wonder why you’re saying this only now, all of a sudden?
Owner...he must have remembered all the lines by heart. I mean, he’s the only one who didn’t bring a script with him…
Right!? I’m sure he prepared before coming here!
You all...Are you pretending not to have heard what I just said?
No...I understand where you’re coming from. But in all honesty, it’s also pretty hard for me to call this scenario that Yuki has written up to be a job well done.
Really? I think it’s pretty interesting, though.
And just which part exactly are you referring too?
Which part? Well…
The part where the undead opened his mouth and spewed fire, burning everything into ashes! That was impactful!
I don’t really know about that, myself. I mean, destroying the stage? That’s a recipe for disaster.
That’s why we need it to be re-written! So no accidents and woes happen!
It’s fine, isn’t it? It’s just fiction! It’s just a corpse, anyway. And the ending was great too! Everyone breaks out into a dance after the undead being is defeated!
Were you already prepared to break out in dance…? REWRITE!
I suppose rewrite it is...But what will we do about the script? The act’s slated for tomorrow and there’s no way we can write up a new one now.
Simple! We just have to have an original story to base it off. If we are to use an old legend and myth like we’re doing right now, there are tons of it out there!
Ahh...I see. Then...How about Momotaro?
It’s lame but It’s been turning up in commercials lately so it wouldn’t be that odd of a story to be replacing it with. The era, though…
Okaay! It’s decided then. Who wants to be Momotaro? Whoa, wait a minute! 5 people can’t be playing Momotaro!
So you say, but you’ve got your hand raised too.
I’m glad to see that everyone’s enthusiastic about this.
Way too enthusiastic, don’t you think!? Even the Owner has his hand up!
Okay, okay! 5 people acting as Momotaro’s just plain impossible!
Really? I heard that some other place had everyone acting as Momotaro though.
There’s no need to compare to them now, is there? Plus, if everyone’s playing Momotaro, then where’s the bird, the monkey and the dog!? And even if we did make it to the island, there wouldn’t be any Oni.
It’s certainly interesting, but don’t you think this would be hard to act out? If we add the old man and the old woman...5 people wouldn’t even be close to enough.
What if we ask Tsukiyomi-san and Karasuma-san?
The declined.
They...declined…? There was an option of declining!?
He turned it down immediately, thinking of it as simply being a gag prank.
Ugh! I totally thought that I absolutely had to participate in this no matter what…How could I have foreseen this…!?
You know, I’ve always wondered about this ever since I was a kid, but Momotaro must really be one lucky guy to not have died after the Old woman opened the peach as she did. I mean, she sliced it cleanly into half...Oh! How about we have a suspense scene for that? A Momotaro murder! The catchphrase...right! Who killed Momotaro!?
The perpetrator’s the old woman, isn’t it?
To hide the evidence of the act she committed, she closed up the peach and sealed it back up.
And the Old man came back from the mountains, only to be roped into her own conspiracy…
I really can’t see the old granny doing that though...but...I’m kind of interested to hear what comes next!
...Enough. Anyway, we should really think about an act that includes all 5 of us, each in different roles.
Then...How about Urashima Taro? You can be Otohime-sama, Owner.
Rejected! Next.
Then Kintaro! No girls appear in there so it’s settled, isn’t it?
Okaaay! Who wants to be Kintaro? Wha- NOBODY!?
Kintaro...he ends up naked after all.
I...Being naked’s NG for me.
Like hell I’m going to bare my chest for all to see just because of this! REJECTED. Next!
Then, Chikarataro!
No, no, it should be Monogusataro.
Sannetaro!!
Enough of the Taro series! Move away from it! Taro, taro, taro..Enough of it!! Isn’t there anything else!? Something simple! Something that everyone knows!
How about you suggest something then? You were the one who wanted a change of the script, so shouldn’t you suggest something!?
It’s not like I can help it now, can I? Let’s go about this logically. There’s not enough time right not to make an entirely new script. Therefore, it’s only plausible if we go for a story that all of us know; all five of us. In other words, there’s only THAT story.
What’s “that”?
Shakespeare!
Shake...-!?
There’s no way we can go wrong with this. It’s not an exaggeration to say that the entire world knows of his works. It may be embarrassing to act his works out, but there is no easier play to enact in this world than shakespeare. All of his stories are famous beyond famous. So even if we’re only capable of doing a patchy job...Hm? What’s wrong? You’re all being so silent!
Ah!? My…!
Ah...Shakespeare, you say?
Indeed. Which of his stories would you prefer? I’ll let you have the option of at least that much.
Ahh, anything’s fine! Right?
Y-Yeah…! That one’s fine and that one too! Right, Kushinada-san!?
Ah...Yes! The tearful one might be good! They say that nothing’s better than a sob-story, right?
Hm…? Kushinada? Which story are you talking about…?
Ah…That one. You know, the one where someone dies…?
Hm...That’s hard. Most of Shakespeare's works end in tragedy. It’s hard to pin-point which one you’re talking about unless you’re more detailed about it. Isora, which work is he referring to?
Ehh!? W-Which!? The emotional one! You know where the main character dies...or not...or so!
And, you know…! Where the main character falls into despair...or not...or so!?
I...see?
A UFO...UFO!!!
You guys...are you saying that none of you know of Shakespere? Is this how it is, Kagutsuchi?
Urk...I don’t know! Goddamnit! I do know of at least Romeo and Juliet though! But something famous beyond famous!?
S-Sorry...it didn’t really feel like I could deny it...There’s nothing but Shakespere, yeah...actually, Shakespeare, who?
It’s finally out now! I don’t know and it’s hard lying about it like that! Having everything out in the open like this feels much better, right? Right!?
No, all of you were pretty interesting. I never thought that he’d take all of you so seriously when you were all just pretending to have understood whatever he had been going on about. I suppose this is truly what ad-lib acting is!
Sousuke-san, you know about it?
Of course! It would do you good to remember the 4 great tragedies at least! Macbeth, Othello, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet. They’re all also famous beyond their time!
Huh? Amadeus? Learlo? Riaju?
It’s all muddled up, you know.
But! I know at least Romeo and Juliet!
Ahem! “Oh Romeo! Where art thou Roemo!”
Enough! Anyway, Owner. Anything Shakesperaren is out of the cards! It’s simply an impossible undertaking!
Isn’t there anything easier? Something with simple enough lines that all of us know about!?
Kushinada, suggest something.
M-Me!? Then...how about Cinderella or-
Blergh! Don’t you think it’s a little disgusting for all the actors to be men for that?
I don’t particularly mind.
Y-You don’t!?
Ahem! “Cinderella! Please finish cleaning the house up before we return home!”
Hey, Kagutsuchi! Don’t go off starting it all on your own like that! And why in the world are you voicing all the female roles!?
“Oh no! The seams on my dress have come off. Fix it for me!”
Did something like that even happen!?
Well then. “I’m going to the ball! I’ll be leaving the night shift to you then~!”
Aren’t there way too many of her mean sisters here?
“Allow me to magic up this pumpkin…!”
Kushinada…! The fairy godmother has appeared even though Cinderella hasn’t made a debut. Isn’t this bad!?
Hurry, Owner! Cinderella! You’re Cinderella!!
You mean...you’re making…me. Me! You’re making me participate in this...farce?
So, say something?
“Ah...I want to go to the ball too…”
CUUUUUUUT!! Owner! You’re way too despondent about this! Are you even putting your heart in this!?
Don’t turn the tables on me! You had other choices, didn’t you!?
Ehh? But it was proceeding on pretty smoothly!
Kushinada...You haven’t really read Cinderella before, have you? Your fairy godmother seems like it came right out of ‘The man who made flowers bloom’!
Seems like we went a full circle from Momotaro and back again to these old tales.
Did not!!
Argh!! We can’t seem to be able to decide anything at all! And look at the time! Can we really settle this and come up with something new before tomorrow!?
And we said that we’d think of something to base if off since it’s impossible to re-write a script now...but our Cinderella’s practically the original one.
Talk and talk, we did. But we still didn’t decide anything in the end…
Enough. Let’s just stick to the undead story…
That’s right! All we can do now is to do our best with the lines that we’ve already memorised!
Humph. In other words, we were all thrown for a loop...only to come back to the original story about the undead. I suppose there’s nothing we can do about it. It was a mistake to attempt changing out act on such short notice. So let’s go with the undead story. However, let’s change at least the ending.
The ending? Oh! You mean the dance part?
Yes! There’s that too, but this entire story’s ending is way too big for my taste. I’d rather it end off properly, you know?
Then, can’t we just end it off when the undead disappears into the forest? Everything else along with the dance should only come after that.
Right! That’s precisely it! We can’t change too much, else it’ll become a flop.
Let’s do that then! We’ve all already memorized our lines anyway so we’ll only be writing off the big celebration and dance.
What a pity~ The dance was pretty interesting too!
I don’t mind the dance...not really, anyway…
Really!?
Hmmmmmmm? You seem to have all your lines down to pat. Now, now, Yuzuki-sama…?
Did he perfect his dance too!?
I...It was only my responsibility, having taken up this job.
That’s amazing, Owner! I admire actors like that with the hardworking trait! They don’t only remember their own lines, but they also go out of their way to remember everybody’s!
I don’t have to?
Amazing! Owner, you’re a blessing from the gods! A natural-born actor!
No, he’s just a veteran.
The celebration’s a no-go but the dance gets a pass! Alright, once more from the top!
I’ll follow after you, Owner!
Scene 18: Flurin Cafe, start!
Who is it? Hurry and name yourself!
I can’t believe it...There’s a murderer among us?
Don’t do this, please! It’s not good to be suspecting each other like this...I can’t...I can’t stand doing this!
You can’t be joking, right? Are you serious? And in the first place…
Yeah. I’m dead serious. There’s certainly someone here among us who’s a murderer, wearing the facade of a human; an undead who has returned to the living.
Wait, hold up!
What is it now, Isora!? Why are you stopping us again!?
Thinking it through, nothing’s been settled at all! I don’t want to act as the undead! I don’t want to!
You were the one who lost at rock-paper-scissors!
What a sore loser…
Um...we’re repeating the same pattern again..
You have it good, Hino-kun. You have a line that goes “YOU are the undead!!”. I have it pretty hard on the other hand...I mean, what is this line!? “Hehehehe. There’s nothing I can do now that I’ve been found out. I’m the undead that has just been introduced by yours truly, Isora!” This isn’t a vow in a marriage or anything like that!
No good...This doesn’t seem like it’ll get itself settled anytime soon...

March Reading Spaz
By some miracle, I haven’t hit a slump yet. That was not an invitation; just an observation. XD
I started off reading middle grade for Middle Grade March but after the fourth book, I lost steam for middle grade. Still, not a bad place to venture whenever you have a slump.
1) Amari and the Night Brothers by B. B. Alston (Four Stars)
I absolutely had a blast reading this book. I instantly felt for Amari and wanted her to succeed in finding her brother. The friendships were well done and there was twist that left me feeling like, “I kind of saw that coming, but my heart still broken. Dangit, [redacted]
Tumblr media
2) Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab (Three Stars)
I enjoyed City of Bones more (mostly because it took place in Scotland) but this was still a solid sequel. Like the first book, the friendship was the main glue and I do look forward to the next book.
3) Hide and Seeker by Daka Hermon (Four Stars)
This book was so creepy and I enjoyed it. It did kind rush and drag once they reached the other world, but it was still enjoyable. Based on how things ended, there’s definitely going to be a sequel and I look forward to seeing which childhood game gets a dark upgrade next.
4) Ghost Squad by Claribel Ortega (Three Stars)
This one had a subplot that hit close to home, but other than that, it was an adorable read.
5) Horimiya Vol 2 by Hero and Daisuke Hagiwara (Four Stars)
It’s Horimiya. The characters are just as fun to read about as they are to watch, so yeah. XD
6) A Match Made in Mehendi by Nandini Bajpai (Three Stars)
Another fun read but the bully side character? Couldn’t stand her. Some of the stuff she did felt a little extreme, but I wouldn’t put it past some people to really act the way she did. Minor spoiler, at least she’s getting some freaking counseling. I had to give the author that. The romance was predictable for the main character but that didn’t mean it was less enjoyable.
7) Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson (Five Stars)
I felt so many things reading this book. Anger, despair, hope, compassion; it all intermingled in one setting. I lost count how many times my heart broke for people who spiritually lost their life to either being wrongfully convicted and waiting for death row or who got heavier sentences than they deserved. There was one case toward the end and I couldn’t take it anymore; I had to let myself cry. But there is a hopeful message and I’m glad Stevenson shared it through his book.
8) A Taste for Love by Jennifer Yen (Four Stars)
I literally just finished this and I enjoyed myself. I also have a minor grudge against it for making me crave bimbimbap and then proceeding to eat the second hottest thing I ever had in my life. XDD Seriously, this book will make you want all the food presented in this book. The family drama was well done as well as the friendships and the romances were cute. Got a little sappy during the epilogue but, hey, sap is good for the soul. :P
So, again, read eight books this month. I didn’t even plan on it; I just wanted to read some middle grade and read Just Mercy. I don’t have a solid plan for April because
1) Camp NaNoWriMo a.k.a. I’m probably just gonna try to get back to working on that fic consistently (the spite fic inspired by a Gatcha that wasted my time and money last year will have to wait for July)
2) Our Life is supposed to be releasing the Step 3 DLCs and, listen, I miss my son. I miss him so much but I wanted to wait on the new material first. XD When that drops, all bets are off.
3) I kind of want to spend some time on polishing those chapters I wrote for the Ranma 1/2 role swap AU ages ago.
So basically, focus more on writing this time around. Possibly. Fingers crossed.

hi !!
i wanted to share my thoughts on the new chapter hehe :>
ok SO, i was NOT expecting to start off so soft? i really really loved the beginning part of this chapter where shuji took care of the reader and how he was so quick to react when she wasn’t feeling good. he’s really starting to care 👀 i also thought it was kinda funny and lowkey toxic how she was obviously not in the right state of mind but still let him into her home ahahah it was sooooo cute tho 🥺 like i had to put my phone down so many times bc my heart was about to burst :,) i love when he’s all soft omg. and there’s also — “”Where's your cuck boyfriend anyway? Shouldn't he be getting you medicine and kissing your boo boos?"” — THIS WAS exactly what i was thinking too like hello?!? if he’s not gonna take care of her then another man will 👀 he helps her shower, brushes her hair and makes her food like damn he does care
“”Tidy bath soaps and scrubs line the shower wall. His and hers. The first sign outside the pictures in the hallway that Amari Takashi exists outside your imagination.””
and also — “” There are no obvious signs of life. No newspapers or receipts, no mail or adverts, no half-read books or sleeping laptop. If not for the dirty dishes crowding your sink, it could be a model apartment rather than a home.”” ok this REALLY caught my attention bc it’s kind of like she’s living in her own bubble and her ‘boyfriend’ is also in his own bubble too. i feel like there’s an obvious barrier between them where there is no actual connection tbh. also because a good boyfriend would probably try and take care of her if she gets sick to the point she can’t get out of bed, sooo👀 are they really together… or do they just live together.
and i can already sense something bad is gonna happen next chapter omg my anxiety after the last part 📈📈📈 ran is definitely up to something and he’s manipulating the reader so bad 😭 4 mil yen? anyone would be dumb to refuse but at the same time she’s risking a lot and giving away info too. i wonder what’ll happen between her and hanma after he finds out that she’s been in contact with ran. my stomach literally flips at the thought omg
but yeah! thank you for this chapter :> i really loved it so much and just know you’ve got me thinking about soft hanma for probably the next week LMAO but have a good day !!!!!
hanma does whatever he wants but what if what he wants is to take care of us 😭 ??? i need someone to get mad at me when i don't take care of myself too lol
'are they together or do they just live together?' couldn't sum it up better. we know reader prioritizes long-term stability & she has that with Takashi, but is that really enough?
i love that you are scared for what's to come haha - makes me feel so evil. imo reader is crazy to even consider it for just 4 mil yen. like, she has a high-paying job. it is not worth kisaki in her business!!!
enjoy your thoughts of soft hanma! you know i will!

Miyoshi’s character profile: Part 3 (Alternate version from drama cd 2)
Miyoshi’s character profile: Part 3 (Alternate version from drama cd 2)
“Joker Game” Metropolitan Police Department D Division investigation file (「ジョーカー・ゲーム」警視庁D課捜査ファイル “Joker Game” Keishichō D-ka sōsa file)
Surname: Miyoshi - 三好(みよし) Name: Unknown Job: Police Detective (刑事 - Keiji) Works at: Metropolitan Police Department D Division (警視庁D課 - Keishichō D-ka) Role at D Division: Police Detective (刑事 - Keiji) Superior officers: Section Chief Yūki of D Division(D課の結城課長 - D-ka no Yūki Kachō), Subsection Chief Sakuma of D Division (D課の佐久間係長 - D-ka no Sakuma Kakarichō)
Brief introduction
He’s one of the members of D Division, a Division whose men are said to be extremely excellent humans with high evaluations in intelligence, physical ability, and mental fortitude who excel in their investigations but hold certain problems concerning their human nature.
Personality
He is highly intuitive, anticipating everything that’s about to happen and is also well informed as he knew about Sakuma prior to his arrival. He’s confident, cares a lot about his hair and his look, he’s cynical and has fun tricking Sakuma and making fun of him. He shows he’s pretty picky with his food, complaining the “Nyan Nyan Cafe” couldn’t serve food suitable for his taste as he’s apparently a self acclaimed gourmet. He’s fine with drinking ice coffee though. He likes to keep Sakuma in the dark about their plans, though he claims they didn’t mean to deceive him, but they warned him they’ll take decisions depending on the situation (also Miyoshi will deliberately show to Sakuma the wrong tape for the TV program “Extreme Report, 24 Hours Police” and send a video of another division in advance in its place). Miyoshi finds the shirts with the bear application horrid and would prefer to die that wear them. Despite this he’s apparently wearing a shirt with a strange picture he bought from a dreary shopping district for 980 yen during its closing out sale. Still, he gets furious if someone criticizes his fashion sense. Miyoshi seems to be a schemer that doesn’t hesitate to use underhanded tactics to ‘destroy’ the opposite team. Miyoshi considers uncool to fall and lose the cavalry battle. Miyoshi demands from Sakuma to treat them to dinner since he thoroughly wasted their time. Although Sakuma complains it’s implied he’ll do it.
Physical appearance
We’re supposed to assume his physical appearance remained the same as the one he has in the Anime. It’s not said what he wears usually but on the cover for the cd we can see he seems to wear the same suit he has in the Anime.
Tumblr media
Though Japanese fanartists often enjoy themselves drawing him in a police uniform, Japanese media usually represents detectives from investigative divisions as wearing a suit… so while it’s possible Miyoshi occasionally wear a police uniform, it’s likely he’s usually wearing a suit.
Relationships
Mutō
We don’t really see Mutō and Miyoshi interact, we only know that Mutō is envious of D section’s success and would like to bring it down.
Yuuki
We don’t really see Yūki and Miyoshi interact, we only know that Yūki is his superior officer and the ones who assigns him his missions.
Sakuma
Miyoshi and Sakuma interact a lot through the story, they being possibly the ones who interact the most.
The first time Sakuma sees Miyoshi he’s playing cards with Hatano and winning. He sees Hatano accusing him of cheating but Miyoshi denies it and worries Hatano’s fuss might ruin his hair.
In their first interaction Miyoshi inadvertently (or not, with Miyoshi one can never be sure) slams the door against him, causing him to fall on the ground. Miyoshi seems surprised to see him there and Sakuma explains he was searching D Division but thinks he is at the wrong place. Miyoshi tells him that actually he had found it and shows he knows his name and that he’s the new Subsection Chief. Miyoshi expresses no interest in Sakuma introducing himself and warns him he’ll learn nothing from them that will please Mutō, showing he knows of Mutō’s plans to have Sakuma spying them.
From this point on Miyoshi will always be busy showing Sakuma he could figure things out in advance or that he knew them in advance. Miyoshi will claim they’ll follow Sakuma’s instructions, he also warns him that depending on the situation, they’ll make their own decisions… which fundamentally will result in Miyoshi (and the others) always doing as he pleases openly (speeding up without warning Sakuma or telling Hatano to shoot at the speeder) or behind Sakuma’s back (like having Jitsui dress up as Kirara-chan), withholding information from him or misleading him (like when he’ll let him believe that there are cats in the “Nyan Nyan Cafe” when instead there are humans dressed as cats or that the tape he’ll show him will be the one they’ll send to the tv station when actually he’ll send them another completely different).
Each time Miyoshi successfully tricks Sakuma he actually blames Sakuma for it, claiming he’s the one who misunderstood or wasn’t thorough enough. Although Sakuma complains, ultimately he let it slide and even come to expect that Miyoshi will trick him (when the tape sent turn out being different from the one he saw he immediately suspected Miyoshi was involved with the matter).
Miyoshi also takes advantage of Sakuma, by demanding he’ll pay dinner for them for having wasted their time with the sport even or for pushing the duty of writing a report for the rifle incident on him (even though it was Miyoshi’s idea). Again, while Sakuma complains he ultimately complies.
While Miyoshi acts polite with Sakuma, he’s often subtly making fun of him, correcting Sakuma’s claim that Kira Kanako is working to the café due to her willpower by claiming it’s just because the pay is high, implying Sakuma’s view was naïve, commenting Sakuma’s motto is “like a elementary school student’s kakizome, very nice” and congratulating with him for solving his first case in a manner that, according to Sakuma, implies that Sakuma had been a disappointment.
Still when Sakuma worries for Kirara-chan he asks him not to and to trust them to know how to handle it. Later, when Miyoshi will comments Sakuma should surely understand what kind of place the D Division is, what kind of people we are, Sakuma will deny it which seems to amuse Miyoshi who comments Sakuma will stick around for a very long time and that, in the meantime, they will be in his care.
It’s worth to mention that, during the cavalry battle Miyoshi wants to be the captain because Sakuma will be the captain of the opposite team and that, always according to Miyoshi, Sakuma is also knowledgeable in martial arts (Bujitsu) and therefore a strong opponent.
On the opposite side Sakuma is the first to notice how Miyoshi is staring at Odagiri, a sign he was paying him close attention.
Kaminaga
Kaminaga and Miyoshi seem to enjoy themselves by teasing/tricking Sakuma together. Kaminaga comments Miyoshi is a “self-acclaimed gourmet”. Miyoshi doesn’t counter it. During the sport festival they’re in the same group. Miyoshi scolds Kaminaga for hitting on someone else’s wife during the cavalry battle.
Hatano
Hatano and Miyoshi’s first interaction see the two of them playing cards. Hatano accuses Miyoshi of cheating, which displeases Miyoshi who, in turn complains at Hatano making a fuss. When, at the sport event, Miyoshi criticizes Hatano’s team shirt, Hatano criticizes Miyoshi’s team shirt back, deeply offending Miyoshi. According to Miyoshi Hatano has strong physical power. When patrolling, it’s Miyoshi who encourages Hatano to shoot at the wheels of a car to make it stop. Miyoshi also comments Hatano’s aim with a rifle is very precise.
Amari
Miyoshi’s interaction with Amari is extremely small.
Amari plays the role of the referee in Miyoshi’s card game with Hatano, though actually he doesn’t pay attention to the game but prefers to watch a tv program.
Jitsui
Miyoshi and Jitsui’s interaction is extremely small.
Jitsui defines Miyoshi a narcissist. During the sport event, Miyoshi complains that if Jitsui doesn’t hold him up a little higher, he’ll tilt at which Jitsui apologizes, claiming he’s rather incompetent at this and then asks/complain on why he should lift up a person who’s heavier than him.
Tazaki
Tazaki and Miyoshi’s interaction is practically inexistent.
Tazaki seems to think that Miyoshi, Kaminaga and Sakuma are having fun together at the Nyan Nyan café, mission how actually Miyoshi and Kaminaga are having fun at Sakuma’s expenses.
Tazaki comments that Miyoshi’s trick to make Sakuma fall during the cavalry battle at the sport event is dirty.
Fukumoto
Miyoshi and Fukumoto fundamentally do not interact at all.
We know though that Miyoshi doesn’t really appreciate the design of the shirts Fukumoto sewed for the sport event and that he thinks Fukumoto has a tight guard. Fukumoto realizes Miyoshi seems to be planning something during the cavalry battle.
Odagiri
Miyoshi and Odagiri’s interaction is extremely small.
It seems that both of them buy their clothes at the shopping center, though Miyoshi denies it.
During the Cavalry Battle, in order to win, Miyoshi threatens Odagiri to show his secret twitter account to his family, which causes Odagiri to panic and makes him drop Sakuma. Afterward Odagiri had to hurry erase his secret twitter account and seemed pretty broken by it.
Abilities
He knows how to drive.
Trivia
When divided in two teams, Sakuma’s team which has Sakuma, Fukumoto, Odagiri and Hatano is far superior in terms of physical strength and unity to the team that has Miyoshi, Kaminaga, Jitsui and Amari.

Idol Land PriPara episode 7
Idol Land PriPara episode 7 was released today for monthly pass holders! It will be available for the general population on 11/1.
The PriPara Police are back!
Tumblr media
With Ajimi too, riding a wave of hashtags? I wonder if this is why we've gotten a few Ajimi coords in Prism Stone lately. (Well, I guess her birthday's coming up too.)
Anyway, ever since Mario broke into PriPara the bugs have been out of control.
Tumblr media
Dorothy sells Meganii some special spray for 5000 idollars that ends up being glasses spray, not bug spray!! HAHAH!
Tumblr media
Disappointing monetization, pointless hashtags, and countless bugs. You have to hand it to them for being self-aware.
Tumblr media
Anyway, Amari is still feeling guilty for all this and after being confronted by the others she finally tells them everything. Upon hearing her story, Meganii supplements that when Amari entered PriPara, a high load was put on the system and the brand Fullmetal Rabbit mysteriously appeared.
Tumblr media
LAALA'S REACTION HAHAHAHHAAA. This scene pans across all the characters looking concerned and Laala just :D
Anyway, despite everyone not being all that phased, Amari is still humiliated by her "dark past" and comes up with an excuse to run away as fast as possible.
She goes back to her room, where she throws everything she has related to Mario and her "dark past" into a trash bag. As she does this, Mario realizes he's disappearing faster than ever.
Tumblr media
Amari is interrupted by her school's Gloria clone before he can disappear completely though, and Mario is more determined than ever to make sure no one ever forgets him.
Still, Amari vows never to visit PriPara again... until she realizes she forgot her wasabi mayo and sneaks back in only to be caught in a trap by Pepper.
No worries though, Pepper won't eat Amari since "weak creatures have lean meat".
Tumblr media
But this is how Amari runs into Non Sugar and ends up at their hideout. Despite Non assuring Amari that she has no reason to run from SoLaMi Dressing, Amari just can't get over the embarrassment and is sure everyone is laughing at her (especially Dorothy). Amari's constant crying reminding Non of Laala the day before summer vacation ends, she takes pity on Amari so Non and Non Sugar dry her tears and comfort her.
But Non Sugar has other things to do! They are working on a new Making Drama for their special performance tonight!
However, things quickly derail when Pepper's friends from the Sapana visit, causing a conflict with Chili, and Ajimi blows through on top of that.
Amari tries to get Non to escape with her, but Non refuses to back down. Eventually, she manages to blast away Ajimi and calm her teammates, reminding them that they decided that they are the only ones who can awaken Yui and save PriPara!
But they never finished their Making Drama. But here is where Amari shakily steps in to tell them that they already have, and how she was moved by their determination not to run away or something like that. So, Non Sugar decides to run with it!
Tumblr media
These coords! These are the ones that they got from winning the Prism Stone poll, right!?
And Spicy Hotcake!!!!
But okay. Since Sugarless Friend was on the Switch, I'm thinking it will probably be the next song added to the game. (As a paid song I'm sure, but still, 300 yen is worth it for some non sweet Non Sugar I think.)
Tumblr media
The Non Sugar SCR! I thought it was so unfair during season 3 that they had to share, but it is super cute.
So, did Non Sugar have the power needed to free Yui? Maybe they actually did. We'll never know because Mario's Cyalume Tornado interferes.
After the live, Amari sees Non writing her meticulous notes and is reminded of her own notebook. The others confront Amari and convince her that everyone has their own dark past she has nothing to worry about. Amari "chakiros" with Non Sugar, officially becoming friends, before heading home.
After landing in the trash pile she threw her stuff into, Amari decides to save her notebook after all.
Tumblr media
Upon opening it up and looking at the ripped page, she suddenly remembers she gave Mario a weak point.
If only she could remember what it was....

Banking & Financial Head of Japans Liberal Democratic Party Calls for Swift Development of a Digital Yen
Kozo Yamamoto has said this week that the country should start looking into a digital yen over the next two to three years.
This is great for the crypto industry for many reasons no doubt however, whether the timeline is realistic or not remains to be seen.
The head of banking and financial systems research commission at the Liberal Democratic Party in Japan, Kozo Yamamoto has said this week that the country should start looking into a digital yen over the next two to three years. This is great for the crypto industry for many reasons no doubt however, whether the timeline is realistic or not remains to be seen. According to reports on the 10th of February by Reuters, Yamamoto said that plans for its ‘essential’ digital currency should be included in the governments mid-year policy guidelines. He further went on to add that digital currency has the potential to quickly spread in emerging economies in giving a leg up in order to advance its digital market. Because of this, he went on to say that the development of digital yen
must be swift:
“The sooner the better. We’ll draft proposals to be included in government’s policy guidelines, and hopefully make it happen in two-to-three years. […] If each country manages to control flows of money with their own (digital) currencies, that could prevent a big swing at a time of crisis and stabilize their own economy.”
The words from the Japanese lawmaker follow those of the former economic minister and ruling party member Akira Amari, who said in the past that he wants to issue of central bank digital currency in order to counter Chinese upcoming digital Juan. Despite this, Yamamoto has admitted that even though the spread of interest in the central bank digital currencies could undermine the dollar’s grip, it could also stabilise emerging markets that rely on the dollar such as Cambodia.

Japanese Ruling Party Lawmakers Push For Crypto Yen Launch
Reports are emerging that Japan has been urged to accelerate its central bank digital currency development in order to compete with China. Crypto Yen in 2020? According to Reuters a group of Japanese ruling party lawmakers has urged the government to issue the country’s own crypto currency. The group has been headed by former economy minister Akira Amari who submitted the proposal on Friday. A reported 70 politicians from Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party have been working on the proposals which have been released today. The move comes a week after Japan’s largest social network, LINE, has announced the launch of its own crypto currency ‘Link’. A senior lawmaker in Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s ruling party has stated that the country needs closer cooperation with the US to curb the potential influence of China’s planned crypto yuan. Bloomberg reported that the vice minister for foreign affairs said he hoped the Federal Reserve would partner with six other central banks, including the Bank of Japan, in researching crypto currencies. Norihiro Nakayama, who drafted the proposal, stated; “We sense the digital yuan is a challenge to the existing global reserve currency system and currency hegemony. Without the U.S., we cannot counter China’s efforts to challenge the existing reserve currency and international settlement system.” He added that China’s central bank digital currency has a high chance of becoming the standard within the country’s digital economy initiative. The US has been very quiet with regards to its own CBDC plans but FED Governor Lael Brainard did say that research was essential in a recent speech. “Given the dollar’s important role, it is essential that we remain on the frontier of research and policy development regarding CBDC ,” Facebook and China Threats Back in Japan Nakayama named Facebook’s Libra as being the catalyst for central banks to accelerate research into their own crypto currencies. With the social media giant monopolizing the space and having a potential two thirds of the world’s population available for its own centralized crypto currency, the threat to global financial stability is real. He added that the major concern with Libra was that it could make central bank monetary policy less effective. Japan clearly views China as a competitor with Nakayama adding “if the yuan is used more widely than the yen it will lead to a decline in Japan’s economic power and influence in the mid to long term,” It is unlikely that Japan will launch any CBDC soon due to technical and legal hurdles so China is still poised to be the first. Will Japan launch a crypto yen before China’s digital yuan? Add your thoughts below. The post appeared first on Bitcoinist.com. from Cryptocracken Tumblr https://ift.tt/373LSwk via IFTTT

Birds of Paradise [1/5]
Series: Joker Game
Characters: Amari/Tazaki; Kaminaga as Tazaki’s wingman (lol get it)
Rating: G
Summary: Tazaki never found a reason to talk to the shopkeeper with the chestnut hair and god-like jawline -- that was, until his pigeons attacked the flower display. (AKA The Flower Shop AU no one asked for)
Words: 1770
Notes: Modern AU/Flower Shop AU; Good lord this has been sitting in my computer since January, having gone through a couple of rewrites and lots of editing, but ah I decided to finally post this since I have some friends who like AmaTaza and I’ve always wanted to write something focusing on them so yeah hehe ^o^;; Technically this is complete, but I decided to release it chapter by chapter so I could edit and rework the parts that I’m still unhappy with while the fic itself is technically up lol, so hopefully this will be updated weekly >u<
You can read this on AO3! Thank you guys for reading and I hope you enjoy~! (´。• ᵕ •。`) ♡
Ch 1: First Encounters
Tazaki's pigeons were usually better than this, having had trained them over the years to listen to his beck and call; it was one of his few talents, really, earning him the title "Pigeon Whisperer" back in high school, though that wasn't important at the moment. Rather the issue was that for some reason, nothing he said or did could stop his darlings from jumping out at the display of flowers in front of Persephone's.
It must've been quite the scene, what with his pigeons looking like fallen angels descending upon the innocent flowers and the plethora of petals flying onto the sidewalk like confetti that was just popped. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Tazaki thought it'd make a great candid shot, but that was the least of his concerns. He could practically feel the crowd forming behind him and right now, he had to tame his dear birds before the shopkeeper came out.
"Excuse me, sir. Is everything all right?"
Welp. Seemed like he was too late for that.
Trying to keep himself cool and collected, Tazaki turned to see that familiar head of chestnut hair and god-like jawline he always saw through the flower shop's window whenever he went on his morning walks.
"Of course," Tazaki said, putting on a smile as petals smacked him in the face. "I've got them under control."
Quirking an eyebrow, the shopkeeper looked between him and the flowers.
"Let me help you."
"It's all right, I can handle them --"
But the shopkeeper had already stepped forward, reaching out to Tazaki's pigeons. Their hands brushed against each other for a moment, sending goosebumps down Tazaki's body that made him freeze. It must've been how warm the shopkeeper's hands were, Tazaki thought, in comparison to his own. Nonetheless, by the time he recovered, his birds had stopped their assault on the flower display.
"I believe these are yours?" the shopkeeper teased.
Blinking, Tazaki took in the sight of his pigeons lounging about on the shopkeeper's arms as if they hadn't just gone on a frenzy. Part of it hurt his pride, since it'd taken a while for his birds to grow used to him, yet they'd already taken a liking to this man. At the same time, however, there was something about it that made his stomach flip. Perhaps it was the smile the shopkeeper adorned despite the wings flapping about and the weight of the birds clinging onto him. Whatever it was, Tazaki pushed back those thoughts and relieved the man of his darlings.
"And I believe you'd be right." As his pigeons climbed back onto his own arms, Tazaki shot them a disappointed look. At least they had the decency to look ashamed. "I'm really sorry about this."
"No worries, these things happen," the shopkeeper said, waving him off and chuckling. "Although this is the first time I've had a pigeon attack but it's fine. I can just fix up the display."
With the sidewalk decorated in an array of colorful petals, Tazaki wondered just how much fixing up he'd need to do.
"I've caused you a lot of trouble, so I'll pay." Before the shopkeeper could say anything, Tazaki took out his wallet. "I insist."
The shopkeeper hummed as if considering his offer, then nodded.
"All right then," he said rather cheerfully. Tapping his chin, he inspected the remains of the flowers. The shopkeeper seemed to be in a good mood despite the mess, though Tazaki wasn't sure if it was politeness or genuine. "That'll be 60,000 yen."
Even if the tone of his voice was light and sweet, Tazaki couldn't help but wince. His wallet was in pain.
"Er, do you take credit card?"
"We do, indeed." The shopkeeper gave him a reassuring smile. "Just go ahead into the store, I'll follow you."
Doing as he was told, Tazaki walked in and was greeted by the sounds of barking. Immediately, a Scottish terrier ran up to him and he tried to calm his pigeons before they did even more damage. After making sure they wouldn't do anything, Tazaki bent down and petted the dog.
"I see you've met Frate." The shopkeeper's voice came from behind him, and he turned to see him with a bouquet in his arms.
"Frate, huh? Cute dog."
"The cutest dog there is~" the shopkeeper said, setting the bouquet on the counter. Even though most of the petals had fallen off and the cellophane wrap was torn, he looked at it very intently. "But we like to think of him as fierce -- our very own Cerberus."
"Cerberus? Like the guard dog of Hades?" Tazaki stood up and Frate ran off into the depths of the store, his black fur whipping behind him. Then Tazaki grinned, remembering the name of the flower shop. "Or in this case, the guard dog of Persephone's garden."
The shopkeeper smiled as he replaced the torn wrapper with a new one.
"Exactly! Not too many people get the reference."
"I'm a cultured man," Tazaki said, walking up the the cash register.
"A cultured man with varied interests, I'm sure," the shopkeeper said, glancing over to the pigeons resting on his arms. Finished with wrapping the flowers, he tied them together with a blue ribbon.
"Certainly." Tazaki would've rubbed the back of his neck had his arms not been occupied, though he did feel his cheeks grow a bit warm. "A-Anyways, I have my card ready."
"Right, right," the shopkeeper said, patting his hands clean on his apron.
Their fingers touched in the brief moment Tazaki handed him his credit card, sending that same wave of goosebumps throughout his body. Distracting himself from the feeling, Tazaki occupied himself with making sure his pigeons were behaving.
"Sorry again, about the display," Tazaki said as the transaction was completed. Putting his card back, he already missed the warmth of the shopkeeper's touch.
"Like I said, no worries. Oh! Before you go --" The shopkeeper took the bouquet lying on the counter and handed it to him. "-- Here. These are for you."
Tazaki found himself at a loss for words, his mouth hanging agape. Slowly, he pointed towards himself.
"...For me?" He cleared his throat. "Why?"
"I don't want you going home empty-handed after you just shelled out all that money."
"I can't possibly --"
"If you're worried about paying, don't. This is just one of the bouquets that survived the attack," he said, adding a wink at the end. For a moment, Tazaki forgot how to breathe.
"Right." He nodded, taking the bouquet from him. "Thank you..." He trailed off, unable to find a name tag on the shopkeeper's person.
"Amari."
"Amari," he repeated, the name coming easily to him. "Thank you, Amari."
"It's not a problem...?"
"Tazaki."
"Tazaki," Amari said with a smile, and Tazaki decided he could listen to Amari say his name all day.
"So who's the lucky girl, eh?" was the first thing Kaminaga asked him when they met up later. Unfortunately for Tazaki, he had no time in between the flower shop and meeting Kaminaga at the cafe by the park to drop the bouquet at home, so he was stuck with dealing with the annoyance that was Kaminaga.
"Hm?" Cradling the bouquet in one arm, Tazaki spread bird feed on the ground with his free hand.
"Guy then?"
"W-What do you mean?"
"The flowers, man." Kaminaga clapped his shoulder. It was a good thing his birds were already feeding or else that would've been the second frenzy that day. "You don't just carry flowers around."
"Ah, this?" Tazaki said, the bouquet rustling in his hold. "It's... not a big deal. My pigeons ruined a flower shop's display and I paid for it. The shopkeeper gave me this in return."
Saying that out loud sounded a bit ridiculous in retrospect, but Kaminaga took it all in stride, simply nodding as he took a sip of his coffee.
"So," Kaminaga said, setting his drink down. "It's the shopkeeper."
"No, it's -- there's no one, okay?"
"It's not 'no one' if you're getting all flustered like that."
"I barely even know him, all right? Today was the first time I even talked to him!"
"Oho~ Sounds like you've been admiring him from afar." Kaminaga leaned in closer with that damned smirk of his.
"It's nothing like that." Tazaki gave him a pointed look. "I just recognize him since I pass by the store all the time."
Kaminaga hummed, fingers drumming against the table.
"This store wouldn't happen to be Persephone's, would it?"
Tazaki blinked.
"It is..."
"The shopkeeper, tall or short?"
"Uh, tall...?"
"Aha, so it's Amari!"
Holding the bouquet a little tighter, Tazaki flinched at the outburst.
"H-How'd you know?"
"My amazing intuition." Kaminaga puffed his chest out proudly to which Tazaki simply stared. "Also, I get my flowers for Miyoshi there, yeah?" he said, deflating by the end of the sentence. "I passed by this morning and saw Amari fixing up the display."
Tazaki slumped at the thought of Amari working on that all by himself. He should've offered to help him clean up at least, now that he thought about it. What a bad first impression he must've made.
"Y'know, I'm kinda friends with him," Kaminaga said. "I can put in a good word for you."
"It's okay, you don't have to." Tazaki sighed. "He probably doesn't like me anyways."
Kaminaga snorted.
"You completely ruin the man's display and he gives you flowers." Kaminaga paused, most likely for dramatic effect. "He can't not like you."
"But --"
"Trust me on this. I'm a love expert."
Tazaki didn't mention how the self-proclaimed love expert spent a week sleeping on the couch after a failed attempt at "spicing up" his and Miyoshi's love life because he was a good friend, but even he had to admit Kaminaga's offer was tempting. He couldn't count the number of times he stole a glance at Amari as he passed by the flower shop, even slowing his pace down so the moment could last longer. He never found a reason to enter the shop, and so never found an excuse to strike up a conversation with Amari -- until now. At least with Kaminaga, there'd be some kind of common denominator there.
"All right." Tazaki took a breath, not believing what he was about to say. "I'll trust you."
Kaminaga grinned and threw an arm around Tazaki's shoulders.
"Don't you worry about a thing! Next time you see him, you'll get that date. Hell, I can see your wedding already --"
"Stop."
"-- You guys'll be saving a lot since you've already got the flowers and birds covered --"
"Please."
