Good Options for Alternative Energy Sources
The world’s energy consumption continues to increase, and with it, the need for alternative energy sources that are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Traditional energy sources such as fossil fuels are finite and have a significant impact on the environment. The use of alternative energy sources is essential to reducing carbon emissions and slowing down the effects of climate change. In…

Very fun realization that me having already made Liz often able to literally eat metal (for anti-cyberman purposes) supports my instinct to make her think time lords taste delicious

I tend not to let work leak into my personal life too much. But I know a lot of people are suffering with heating and keeping warm and costs and such. And I do work giving money guidance...so the knowledge helps in some cases.
I do want to direct to Money Saving Expert and their tips on heating the human not the home. It may help some of you who could be struggling. Being cold is rotten.https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/.../heat-the-human-not.../

ok well i have a salivary gland infection but it’s probably not mumps unless I start feeling a lot sicker today or don’t respond to the antibiotics. I think I’ll stay home today (I don’t feel GREAT) but will make an effort to do the workshop in person tomorrow afternoon. I moved a bunch of stuff off today’s schedule so I can nap and tend to my weird little throat lump. oh also the mountains got a ton of snow in the last couple days and I drove down to the water to look at them and weep at their beauty. guess life is worth living or whatever. today I am choosing to believe my baby is alive.

Kelly Clarkson - People Like Us - Lyrics by Izzz
Hello, and welcome to the other song I discovered by pulling up the Leverage fan music video for Parachute on my phone and then letting YouTube do its thing while I cleaned my room. XD I'm not sure what video this song was linked with (I think it was a whole-team one), but the minute I heard it, I was like "oh shit, this is Valicer In The Dark." I mean, yes, as I mentioned in the other Song Saturday post, I was already primed to think about Valicer In The Dark stuff because I'd started from a song I already associated with this verse, but -- DAMN. This one just really has the VITD vibes for me, I swear. The whole thing just makes me think of the trio, their dynamic, and their adventures -- stuff like:
"And hey, yeah, I know what you're going through/Don't let it get the best of you, you'll make it out alive" -- Smiler being encouraging to Victor and Alice, since they do actually know a bit about what they're going through (shitty biological parents with Victor, being poor and alone in the world (even if just for a little bit) with Alice)
"Hey, this is not a funeral/It's a revolution after all your tears have turned to rage" -- Alice killing Dr. Bumby AND Victor deciding to officially run away from home after overhearing his mother's "what ghost would marry our Victor?" lines
"People like us we've gotta stick together" and all the rest in the chorus -- the trio doing stuff like running from the cops, pulling off a daring heist, killing the Jabberwock in the Deathlands, escaping a secret murder party with the help of the staff, etc
It's just -- it gives me the feels and I really love it. :) Top tier VITD song here.

If I didn’t own the rare Uncut 4Kids Yugioh & Shaman King dub DVD singles, I wouldn’t be teasing TAS Spidey saying the quote: “Come With Me, Yugi…Down to Hell”, through one of my collage projects.

So instead of taking all the writing advice saying not to give specific timeframes and dates/comments about spec-fic writers not understanding how time works how it should be taken — namely, not trying to create a comprehensive timeline of cybertronian history for my tf fic
I have instead decided to do things like calculate how long ago the colony titans would've needed to leave cybertron in order to have the population numbers I want them to have based off the amount of sparks titan hotspots generate every pulse and how long the time between pulses is
and how long it would take cybertron's population to reach approximately 5 billion (the number of living cybertronians at the time the war starts) after the shroud/shattering reduced it to the tens of thousands — again based off hotspot stats, but also based on how long it would take for the hotspots to recover and reignite
also instead of doing IDW's thing where cybertron's history and mythical and legendary figures aren't remembered accurately and all because of adaptus' moon gun, I'm having it be because the shroud/shattering caused cybertron's energon generation to completely cease for hundreds of thousands of years.
which resulted in most of the survivors either dying from starvation or going into stasis lock, with those who were reactivated when the planet recovered and began generating energon again suffering memory loss and corruption due to the lack of energy and energon (there's a difference in my fic. because I'm stupid) causing their sparks and brain modules to degrade over time.

I'm serious when I say; you can tell with comics, whether it be the book or any sort of adaptation (though ESPECIALLY with film and TV adaptations), you know whose a fan and who is doing this to check off a box for the next thing or because they think everything needs to be edgy.
And the work severely suffers when it's the latter and it's draining at this point.

alternative soda brands that are not owned by PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, or Keurig Dr Pepper associated with Israel or Zionism to replace Monster energy, its for extreme sports, esports, and music/pop culture.
Here are some alternative energy drink brands that are not owned by PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Keurig Dr Pepper, or associated with Israel/Zionism, which could potentially replace Monster Energy drinks for activities like extreme sports, esports, and music/pop culture:
RUNA Clean Energy Drink RUNA is a certified organic, fair trade, and non-GMO energy drink made from the guayusa plant native to the Ecuadorian Amazon. It contains a moderate amount of caffeine from guayusa and no taurine or artificial ingredients.
Yerba Mate Aguante This brand offers energy drinks made from yerba mate, a caffeinated plant-based ingredient from South America. Their drinks are vegan, non-GMO, and free of taurine and artificial sweeteners.
ZWAY Bamboo Energy Drink ZWAY uses bamboo leaf extract as a natural source of antioxidants and caffeine. Their vegan, non-GMO drinks have no taurine, artificial colors/flavors and are packaged in plant-based materials.
MATI Energizing Drinks MATI makes sparkling energy drinks from guayusa and yerba mate with moderate caffeine levels. They are non-GMO, vegan, and free of taurine and artificial ingredients.
Sambazon Amazon Energy Drink Made from Brazilian açaí berries and yerba mate, Sambazon offers plant-based, certified organic energy drinks without taurine, artificial colors/flavors.
Hiball Energy Drinks Hiball uses organic caffeine from coffee beans and no taurine or artificial ingredients in their lightly carbonated energy drinks aimed at an active lifestyle.
While not as mainstream as Monster, these ethical brands provide natural, plant-based alternatives for an energy boost without being tied to companies supporting Israeli apartheid policies based on the search criteria. Many also avoid artificial additives common in conventional energy drinks.

Cycle Soda This Tampa company produces natural craft sodas like Pineapple Cream and Ginger Lemongrass that avoid high-fructose corn syrup, aligning with an active lifestyle.
Jitney Samurai Cream Ale While not technically a soda, this craft beer brand's anime-inspired branding could appeal to gaming and pop culture enthusiasts looking for a unique beverage.
Stubborn Soda The Miami-based craft soda maker offers bold flavors like Black Cherry Tarragon and Lemon Berry Acai in vintage-style bottles. Their edgy branding could resonate with alternative music fans.
Jones Soda Co. This independent Seattle-based brand is known for unique flavors like Fufu Berry and quirky label designs featuring consumer-submitted photos. Their energy drinks like Jones GABA and sugar-free options could appeal to extreme sports enthusiasts.
Ale-8-One This ginger ale from Kentucky has a cult following and quirky branding that could mesh with indie/alternative music scenes.
There are a few alternative snack brands that align with extreme sports, music/pop culture, and are not owned by large corporations or Zionist companies:
Hippeas is an organic chickpea snack brand that recently launched limited-edition Minions-themed snacks, aligning with the popular movie franchise[4]. They have a fun, youthful branding that appeals to pop culture.
Bhu Foods makes sweet energy bites and bars from natural ingredients, avoiding cane sugar and grains. Their branding has an earthy, alternative vibe that could resonate with extreme sports enthusiasts[1].
Lytepop is an electrolyte-infused popcorn brand that has recruited NBA player Trae Young as a spokesperson, appealing to sports fans[1]. However, their "electrolyte-infused" premise is somewhat dubious.
Made in Nature is an organic dried fruit brand that started as a pear farm in Oregon in 1989, giving it an alternative, natural image[1].
Goodfish upcycles wild Alaskan salmon skins into crispy snacks, which could appeal to outdoor enthusiasts with its sustainable, upcycled ingredients[1].
It's important to note that while these brands have alternative positioning, I could not definitively confirm their ownership structures to rule out any Zionist connections. Their branding and product positioning align with the query, but verifying corporate ownership is difficult.

Would material components in dnd be better if they could be used in place of a spell slot rather than a focus? Like. Depending on how you run it that could be overpowered but as it is I have never seen material components used, period. There simply aren't enough opportunities to lose an arcane focus, and no one doesn't take the arcane focus.
Making them a spell slot substitute adds a nice opportunity for drama (our hero, tired and bloody, pulls out [ITEMS], arcane words rushing past their lips, and [ACTION IS PERFORMED ON ITEM, FOLLOWED BY COOL EFFECT, TRANSITION INTO SPELL]), gives players an actual reason to use them, and justifies how stupid they are to track and stock.
And the standard rules already require components with a gold cost, so you don't even need to change anything to keep players from getting like, super cheap resurrections or whatever.

Green energy is in its heyday.
Renewable energy sources now account for 22% of the nation’s electricity, and solar has skyrocketed eight times over in the last decade. This spring in California, wind, water, and solar power energy sources exceeded expectations, accounting for an average of 61.5 percent of the state's electricity demand across 52 days.
But green energy has a lithium problem. Lithium batteries control more than 90% of the global grid battery storage market.
That’s not just cell phones, laptops, electric toothbrushes, and tools. Scooters, e-bikes, hybrids, and electric vehicles all rely on rechargeable lithium batteries to get going.
Fortunately, this past week, Natron Energy launched its first-ever commercial-scale production of sodium-ion batteries in the U.S.
“Sodium-ion batteries offer a unique alternative to lithium-ion, with higher power, faster recharge, longer lifecycle and a completely safe and stable chemistry,” said Colin Wessells — Natron Founder and Co-CEO — at the kick-off event in Michigan.
The new sodium-ion batteries charge and discharge at rates 10 times faster than lithium-ion, with an estimated lifespan of 50,000 cycles.
Wessells said that using sodium as a primary mineral alternative eliminates industry-wide issues of worker negligence, geopolitical disruption, and the “questionable environmental impacts” inextricably linked to lithium mining.
“The electrification of our economy is dependent on the development and production of new, innovative energy storage solutions,” Wessells said.
Why are sodium batteries a better alternative to lithium?
The birth and death cycle of lithium is shadowed in environmental destruction. The process of extracting lithium pollutes the water, air, and soil, and when it’s eventually discarded, the flammable batteries are prone to bursting into flames and burning out in landfills.
There’s also a human cost. Lithium-ion materials like cobalt and nickel are not only harder to source and procure, but their supply chains are also overwhelmingly attributed to hazardous working conditions and child labor law violations.
Sodium, on the other hand, is estimated to be 1,000 times more abundant in the earth’s crust than lithium.
“Unlike lithium, sodium can be produced from an abundant material: salt,” engineer Casey Crownhart wrote in the MIT Technology Review. “Because the raw ingredients are cheap and widely available, there’s potential for sodium-ion batteries to be significantly less expensive than their lithium-ion counterparts if more companies start making more of them.”
What will these batteries be used for?
Right now, Natron has its focus set on AI models and data storage centers, which consume hefty amounts of energy. In 2023, the MIT Technology Review reported that one AI model can emit more than 626,00 pounds of carbon dioxide equivalent.
“We expect our battery solutions will be used to power the explosive growth in data centers used for Artificial Intelligence,” said Wendell Brooks, co-CEO of Natron.
“With the start of commercial-scale production here in Michigan, we are well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for efficient, safe, and reliable battery energy storage.”
The fast-charging energy alternative also has limitless potential on a consumer level, and Natron is eying telecommunications and EV fast-charging once it begins servicing AI data storage centers in June.
On a larger scale, sodium-ion batteries could radically change the manufacturing and production sectors — from housing energy to lower electricity costs in warehouses, to charging backup stations and powering electric vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and so on.
“I founded Natron because we saw climate change as the defining problem of our time,” Wessells said. “We believe batteries have a role to play.”
