Trigger Warning: Some Flashing (a bit of minor flashing in the background, and I'm not sure how some people would react to the static effects on the TV screen itself, so -- yeah!)

Another bit of recent music for you this Song Saturday -- I heard this song on the radio a few weeks ago driving home from work, and was immediately like "ooooo~" So I looked it up on the old YouTubes a couple of days later, and after listening to it again, immediately decided this song was definitely Smiler, and definitely at least Van Alton -- though I am leaning toward it being full-on Valicer. On the Smiler side, the lyrics combined with that dark, thumping beat honestly does make me think of the rollercoaster and it's "brainwashing people into happiness" theme -- come on, tell me you can't see "I could play the doctor/I can cure your disease" paired with a glowing yellow Joy Serum needle! And on the Valicer side -- well, the first set of lyrics does seem to suit Alice (especially "Running out of medicine/You're worse than you've ever been"), and the second Victor ("you reach out and no one's there" particularly suits one who loved and lost Victoria and Emily), with the pre-chorus and chorus being Smiler offering to cure their respective diseases. Granted, the song really has a certain, uh, dom vibe to that particular offer, which is why it kind of leans Van Alton -- Alice and Smiler don't have that same relationship. (Though maybe if we take it in the context of Smiler luring Alice in to dom Victor together...)

As for mental music video -- currently the one most prominent in my head is Modern!AU Alice, Victor, and Smiler all out someplace for a karaoke night, and Smiler getting up and singing this song...only to immediately start strutting and giving Victor looks throughout. Poor Victor ends up red as a beet and gulping down water, and Alice is equal parts amused and "cripes, this is even affecting ME a little, the hell." They probably have a fun night together after they get home. ;)

So I've been wandering tumblr looking up Severance stuff and -- um -- well. This is a fucking banger. I love how well the music video fits with the lyrics -- lot of good scenes here! Burt and Irving are cute, and poor Helly! She is not having a good time. :( (I mean, none of them are, but you understand what I mean.) And the song itself is great -- I absolutely love the chorus. I think I'm gonna be associating it with my own Valicer Severance AU from now on!

Sorry, Leverage OT3 Shippers, I'm stealing your song. XD A little more seriously, I saw that post about "Leverage OT3 propaganda" reblogged over on @polyshipweek, decided to check out the video, and ended up really liking it and the song. And because it was an OT3 video, I naturally started associating the song with my OWN Valicer OT3. :) The actual lyrics might be a little more plain Valice (referencing things like keeping a relationship hidden from the haters, telling someone they're the only one you trust, going "you and me against the world," etc), but I don't think that it's too hard to adapt them to a Valicer situation. After all, twwings did it with the Leverage OT3. XD

And, of course, the specific Valicer situation I'm thinking of is the Valicer In The Dark one -- the attempts at a Valicer music video that keeps popping up inside of my brain involve those three the most. (In particular, one of the "down, down, down" bits sparks an image of Victor falling off a building mid-heist, forcing the other two to help catch him and pull him back up -- which is a scene I'd had in my head before, but it's enhanced by putting it to music.) But yeah, I'm enjoying the vibes here, and I'm happy to add this to my own OT3 playlist. :)

My fanfic story is called "Red for the Martyrs" where a group of young missionaries try to convert the winged people, but all of them get killed except for one. Topa, one of the winged people witnesses them die. But instead of panicking or crying out or even fighting back, they sang. He was almost impressed with how they were handling it.

Fruit Bat's sister, Tangerine, found a magic rock. Despite her sister's warnings, Tangerine picked it up and it transformed them.
