#Albus severus

Last year, after rereading the entire saga, I had a really bad book hangover. My girlfriend told me to read Cursed Child, so I gave it a chance.

To my surprise, almost everything people said was bad about it was taken out of context.

The most popular criticisms were:

"Harry’s a bad dad; he wouldn’t be like that."

"Harry’s son is annoying, just like his grandpa."

Bitch, you better be joking.

Hear me out: Harry never had a father or a family to teach him what a healthy parent-child relationship looks like I’m talking about his early childhood. He’s also extremely impulsive and hot-headed—his emotions are visceral, and he always blows up.

And guess what? Albus has the same temper as Harry. He’s the kid most like him, and that’s why Harry finds it hard to deal with him. The two are always butting heads.

Another criticism I’ve heard is: "Harry hates his son because he went to Slytherin." Honestly, either that person read with their ass or didn’t read/watch it at all.

Harry’s problem was never with Slytherin. The guy goes years without his scar hurting, and when it finally does, it’s after a dream where he sees his son chained with some evil presence closing in.

Of course, it’s Draco. Two old, dumb guys still biting at each other.

And then there’s: "Harry used his power in the Ministry to threaten shutting down Hogwarts." Babe, look me in the eyes and listen closely: Harry grew up longing for a family while watching the people who came into his life get killed.

He’s not a teenager, nor is he Albus’s uncle or godfather—he’s his father. Of course, he was out of his mind. He’d never let anything happen to his family, even if it meant tearing down Hogwarts with a jackhammer.

He understands full well the weight of his love and responsibility. That’s why he told Albus: “I don’t need you to like me; I just need you to obey me.”

i’ve been too busy to draw it but does anyone remember the headcannon that when you marry a malfoy your hair starts to turn their iconic platinum blond color too? and that’s why narcissa’s hair looks the way it does in the movies? well i can’t stop thinking about albus and scorpius getting married and scorpius completely forgetting to mention it and like a only a week in to their marriage Albus freaks out over finding “grey hairs” in a small section at his hairline and they slowly take over in cool streaks like narcissa’s but with albus’ wild potter hair. scorpius is obsessed with how it looks but let’s be real he’s always been obsessed with albus’ hair

Hide-and-seek

Ginny stared at the invisible group of children in the middle of the living room as Lily’s giggle echoed through the room, followed by a shush from her big brother.

Harry didn’t bother to look up. “Trust me, dear. You will never find our children. They’ve hidden so well.”

She nodded. “They have outdone themselves certainly.” Her hands landed on her sides. “I don’t think they’re downstairs at all.” She tip-toed over to her husband, careful not to bump into her three invisible kids. “And since they’re not here...” She leaned toward Harry.

He looked up at her, gaze soft, his eyes crinkling as he bit back his grin. As her lips neared his, several spluttering objections erupted from the middle of the room, especially from their two sons.

“Gross!” James yelled, escaping the cloak first and making a beeline for the door.

Albus pulled the cloak off him and his sister, he stumbled backwards, frowning at them as he made his escape.

Grabbing onto the cloak, Lily’s big eyes followed her brothers and then looked back at him. She blinked and then with a toothy grin she pulled the cloak back over her head.

Ginny gave her two seconds to hide. Then she stood up and followed the giggling toddler into the kitchen. “I am going to get you!”

The giggles grew louder, the pitter-patter of her feet audible on the tile floor as she walked away from her mother.

Harry appeared at the other side of the counter. “Quick Lily, make your escape. I’ll distract your mum.” He winked at Ginny.

“Okay!” the toddler replied.

Ginny faked a gasp and ducked after the toddler. She pulled the cloak off her daughter and kissed her head. “Good job, Lils.”

“Again! Again!” she exclaimed.

I have a friend who had never watched or read Harry Potter before.

She started watching the movies a few months ago and today we saw the last one together because I wanted to see her reactions to the plot twists, to Snape being in love with Lily, to Harry being a Horcrux, to the character deaths and so on...

It was all very fun, but when we reached the epilogue it was the absolute PEAK of the evening.

The way she GASPED and nearly CHOKED with popcorn when her brain grasped the fact that Harry's son name is Albus Severus Potter will stay with me forever.

At the end of their first year, Scorpius took a photo with Albus at the train station. He’s grinning from ear to ear, with his arm around his best friend, who looks a bit awkward. He’s kept it on his bedside table ever since. Every time Draco walks into his room and notices the photo, he does a double take, thinking for a second it’s him and Harry.

But then it hits him. It couldn’t be, because he wasn’t that happy back then.
