Seeing characters in romance stories just jetting between countries at a moment's notice with no thought for visa; seeing airports as sites of triumphant climaxes and romantic denouements instead of places of fear and danger where a sword hangs above your head— it all breaks off little pieces of my heart. They're constant reminders that my people will never be human enough in the colonial world order to be allowed to move freely around it. No matter what your race, those non-refugees living in the Global North will never understand what it's like to be part of a global ghetto where your passport is nothing but a trembling supplication and humiliation.

I've been denied miles credit for two recent-ish flights because the airlines believe I was not on board. Well, I double-checked, and I most certainly was.

Anyway, this is a first world problem, but I sat through these flights and made my body miserable, so I'm going to raise hell until I get my stupid miles.

man i really am conflict avoidant. i was in the car for about 2 minutes while stepdad was angrily trying to deal (through a video call) with the airport worker that wasnt letting my brother into the airport and i could barely handle it at all. i had to leave the car and stay at the other end of the parking lot while the shouting and stuff happened. he managed to do it in the end but god fuck i would not be able to at all. even in my little brother's position where he was holding the phone i don't think i would do that i would give up so quickly. i feel bad and im not even the one any of this was about at all

BSD random thoughts

I'm not sure whether Asagiri would put Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in the series (I wish he does, Sherlock Holmes is my fav classic, sounds basic but idc)

I want Sir ACD to be someone who kinda has a distaste for detective work despite being a topnotch detective material, unwilling to solve crimes (unlike Rampo who thrives on mysteries) since he was in a love-hate relationship with the Sherlock Holmes series.

Also since IRL Doyle was influenced by Poe and Asagiri has this tendency to flip the IRL authors relationship dynamic like in Dazai-Akutagawa and Rampo-Poe, I wish he makes a backstory of Doyle and Poe with reverse relationship dynamic.

On that topic of detective and mysteries, I'm also super curious of how Agatha Christie's ability works. Like it's called 'And then There were None'. I'd read the novel and I can't figure how any point in the story would spark an ability related to it. (Or may be because I'm dumb and don't have a Asagiri brain)

Christmas is coming so it is time to start saving so I can treat myself to the Boxed set of the lunar chronicles (including the novellas because I'm extra like that) but the newer prettier version with the cool artwork (yes, I totally judge a book by its cover) is sooo expensive though!
