So remember how when I was online researching where to get a wig for Sammy the Pullip, I wound up finding a whole other used Pullip on eBay that solved my problems (for the moment anyway)? Well, I did that again with the American girl dolls, sort of. Meet Emerson. ☺ She's a 14" Wellie Wishers doll, which is an American Girl doll , but not as big as an 18" AG doll like Felicity. I haven't been around AG stuff since I packed up my old dolls so I didn't know these existed, discovered them while looking into the doll hospital. Like most AG things, I can't afford a doll like this new from the company, but this girl is used and wearing a Glitter Girl outfit (cheaper doll brand, except that headband seems to be AG), so I could afford her, and I am keeping my eye out to see if I can get a couple more dolls this size. The 18" dolls I have probably won't be ready to model clothes for a while and I'd imagine that 14" dolls are going to be a much easier size for me to jump to anyway (biggest doll I've work with so far was only 12"). Question of the day what's everyone's special memory with their dolls?

I'll go first my special memory with my dolls was getting to meet my best friend in person on January 8th of last year we both decided to meet at Build-A-Bear Workshop she what's bringing me my first two American Girl dolls. To this very day Samantha holes my most important memory I'll never forget that day she hasn't left my side since that very day ❤❤❤

It’s safe to say that what’s going on in the world right now is unlike anything we’ve been through before. There has been devastating viruses in the past, granted, but this is my first experience on the world going into lockdown. We’re in completely strange waters, with zero guidance and no actual clue of what is going to occur in the near future. While I’m trying to get accustomed to the new normal throughout this horrid time, I feel like it’s essential to refrain from putting a giant amount of pressure on myself. "Experiencing the pandemic of Covid 19 will long be remembered and our future grandchildren and great-grandchildren will ask us about it. However, there have been other generations in history that suffered the fear and deprivations of a flu pandemic besides the population of today. American Girl doll, Rebecca Ruben, would have lived in the period of another drastic global pandemic referred to as The “Spanish Flu” in 1918. It is thought to have been spread by returning World War 1 soldiers and, in fact, “The Influenza of 1918” killed more people than the war. They too, had to close churches, schools and public places. They wore masks over their nose and mouths like we are. They experienced food shortages and New York City had staggering numbers of flu victims. The Salvation Army set up clinics for the indigent population in the city in order to aid the poor. Aspirin was used to bring down fevers, but was prescribed unknowingly in daily doses that today are considered lethal. Yet despite the horror, it was also a time when people performed wonderful acts of charity and the fight against the flu meant helping each other, much like we are witnessing today. Seeing all the American Girl Doll posts here on Insta inspired me to try and find my own 18" dolls that I knew were in storage somewhere. Still looking for a bed and some of the clothes, but I found the dolls! - The doll on the left is Felicity, actual American Girl Doll. She's held up surprisingly well. Played with her for years and she's been in a box for at least a decade, but all she needs is a cleaning, a good hair brushing, and some limb tightening *poof* She'll be good as new. If I had experience with limb tightening, I'd be fixing her right now, but I don't and I don't want to wreck her, so I'm looking into sending her to the AG doll hospital (it's a real thing). -The doll on the right is Jenny. She's a Berenguer Classmates doll (My Mom bought her for me at an Ames department store, inside the Lockport Mall, none of which exists anymore, so finding this doll is hitting me right in the nostalgia). They don't make these dolls anymore, and although her joints seem great, her eyes, vinyl, and hair are not, and the AG hospital only fixes AG dolls, so I'm just going to go ahead and rehab her myself.
