What did you do/use for your facial beauty glow up?
Lip Filler.
I have 1.5 mL of lip filler at the moment and probably won’t get more any time soon. In my mind, it’s the perfect amount; it gives my lips a delicious, just bitten look, and it doesn’t look or feel unnatural. I’m someone who loves subtle changes; I’m not the sort of girl who’d go crazy with surgery, and I prefer to make my changes slowly. I started with .5 mL, slowly went up to 1.5 mL over the course of two more appointments, and I think plumping my lips up completely changed my lower face and made me look younger and more feminine.
Polynucleotide Injections.
This treatment is major in South Korea; it’s very popular, and one of my best friends went and came back singing its praises. After weight loss, this is the most important thing I have ever done for myself. These injections boosted my collagen production and made the terrible dark circles and puffiness under my eyes disappear. It took a few weeks for me to see the results, but I look like I’ve had an upper and lower blepharoplasty now; my eye area is completely rejuvenated and the skin is bright, and while my initial reaction to the set of treatments I had was intense, the end result was better than I could’ve ever hoped for.
A Comprehensive Skincare Routine.
The skin is the body’s largest organ, and the first step to learning how to care for it is understanding that you and it must be hydrated. Learning that what I put into my body was just as important as what I put onto my skin helped me change my approach to skincare. I mostly use French, Korean, and medical-grade skincare products, and I switch them out each season so that I can approach my needs correctly. Washing and changing my sheets twice weekly, going on a low estrogen birth control, and adding N-acetylcysteine to my supplements helped me more than I could ever say.
Minoxidil.
Using Minoxidil to grow my eyebrows out was one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. I love the look of thick, lush eyebrows, but I don’t actually like thick brows. I used minoxidil to grow my eyebrows until they were thick and I could have them threaded and thinned out just a bit, straightened, and tinted until they were the shape and shade I wanted. Minoxidil is a great tool; it's decently affordable, and while the results take a while to appear, once they've been appearing, they’re very noticeable. I also use a regular lash serum on my lashes to grow them; it’s from The Ordinary, and I think it works slowly but nicely. You do have to be very precise with your application of Minoxidil, but other than that, it’s very good for filling in sparse eyebrows.
Weight Loss.
Losing over 80 pounds, doing a complete overhaul of my diet and limiting the amount of processed foods I consume, making an effort to care for my body and mind, and changing my mental and physical health for the better completely changed my world. My insulin resistance is totally gone, I’m healed from the PCOS that once plagued me, I no longer eat the foods I have sensitivies to, and the inflammation and water retention I’d have the morning after are gone, and I feel like my best self. My double chin has been vanquished, my bone structure is visible again, and I love the way my nose looks, and I am so much more confident about the shape of my face. Losing weight is the best thing I have ever done for myself, and I’d recommend it to anyone who feels like they need to overhaul their life.
Proper Styling
Learning how to do my makeup, contouring my face with self-tanner, and styling my hair were all major parts of becoming more confident with my face. Now that I know what I’m doing with myself and I’ve been able to identify what suits me best, things come easier. Proper styling is what’ll make or break you. You could be the most beautiful woman in the world, but if you don’t care for your appearance, you’ll struggle. I put a lot of time and effort into learning what looked best on me, learning how to style myself, learning what worked with my facial shape and bone structure, and figuring out which lash maps, brow shape, makeup style, and colors suited the overall aesthetic I was going for. Learning about makeup products, trying a variety of different makeup styles, and new makeup techniques made a world of difference for my styling journey too.
Braces.
I had braces on for just over a year—traditional metal, power chains most of the time—and they were worth every cent. I was always insecure over my teeth, and fixing them has really made it easier for me to smile and express myself. Although they’re not perfectly straight or blindingly white (Kirsten Dunst is known for her smile for a reason), I’m confident, and I love them. Taking care of my teeth is something that I really struggled with at one point, and I have had to make a real effort to get better at that. I still have my dental routines, wear my retainer at night and through the day, and do brightening treatments, but I’m focused on the health of my mouth instead of aesthetics now.
These are the major things.

Same Team! A YJH Office Romance Pt. 2
Idol!Jeonghan x ProductionStaff!Reader
You’re serious about your job, but not as serious as Yoon Jeonghan is about flirting.
Read Part 1, Part 2: ~1.8k words
Series Content: slooowwwwww burn, fluff!, cute flirting!, will-they-won’t-they vibes!, tension!!, office crushes, office romance, appearances by all of the members, reader is shy and gets flustered easily!, jeonghan is jeonghan-ing!
My Masterlist
Author's Note: Jeonghan and MC actually talk in this part! Yay! Still a very slow burn, though. Sorry about it! Hoping to have some smut ready soon. Once again, not sure how long the tension is going to build! Special mention of BSS and some fictional staff characters in this part. Enjoy! Thank you for reading!
~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+
You’d rented a small flat that was pretty far from the office. It was what you could afford, and you were used to long commutes—having lived in most of the major cities in the U.S. New York’s subway was always crowded, LA’s traffic was always congested... Seoul was no different. You took two buses to work, except on days when you were shooting on location, when you and some other staff in the area would get picked up by a company van very early.
You had gotten slightly more comfortable around the members. It helped that they were all delighted that you spoke fluent Korean. And you were glad you could speak in English with Joshua and Vernon.
You’d noticed that some of them had rather open personalities and were surprisingly easy to talk to. Seungkwan, Dokyeom and Hoshi (who told you you could call him Soonyoung) always greeted you, which made you feel more confident. Mingyu and Seungcheol had recently started to greet you as well.
Your first assignment was to help capture behind-the-scenes footage at a paid sponsorship shoot featuring BSS, one of the group’s subunits. It had just been you and one other more experienced production staff member on the shoot—the idea being that you would shadow and learn the ropes for smaller/subunit shoots. The three members were very helpful and patient with you. You really appreciated them. You’d had such a good time with them on the shoot that eventually they were all calling you “nuna” which made you feel even more at ease.
Idols are kind of like puppies... you’d thought, watching the three of them. They tried to be grown up, but you could tell that they brought out the child in each other. How could they not? Pretty much all of them had known each other since they were kids.
It should go without saying, but you were surprised at how... regular all of the members were. They were really just guys in their twenties at the end of the day. Some of them were quite shy, others were funny, some were serious, some were charming... They were all very different but meshed together well. You were kind of amazed by them each day.
But, even after a couple months of working with the members, you still got tense around Yoon Jeonghan.
Sometimes it felt like you could only hear his voice whenever you met with the production staff and the members to talk about content or scheduling. It was such a beautiful sound. You couldn’t help but simply bow to him when your paths crossed, not sure how to act around him. He was always polite to you but hadn’t really struck up much conversation since you’d started working there.
Sometimes, you would see him across a hallway or a room, and it felt like your eyes would lock—or like he had been looking right at you. But you were sure that you were imagining it.
You were ashamed to admit it, but in your preliminary research on the group Jeonghan was the member that stood out to you the most. You were captivated. Your friends had told you that he must be your “bias.” And now that you had spent time near him... now that you had even stood close enough to smell his perfume as he reviewed footage during a shoot... now that you had made even fleeting eye contact with him... it was a full-blown crush.
I’m almost thirty and I’m crushing on a singer... you’d chide yourself, feeling embarrassed. And a coworker, no less...
There was a strict no-dating clause in all employees’ contracts. You remembered reading through it at your initial onboarding. Being found in an inappropriate relationship with another staff member or the talent—regardless of whether the relationship was mutually pursued—could result in the “immediate termination of your position.” Not that you would ever have a shot with him. But, even if you did, you couldn’t afford to entertain these feelings for him beyond a simple, one-sided crush, so you decided to accept it and keep things professional.
At least, you thought you had accepted it.
“What do you do for fun, Y/N-shi?”
The question visibly startled you. You were hanging out in a practice room, helping shoot some extra footage for an Inside Seventeen episode as the members prepared for an upcoming awards show performance. All of the members were there, but only the performance team was working through their section of choreography. You were sitting on the far side of the room, near where the vocal unit was taking a break, and chatting with one of the producers, asking questions about the ceremony and what to expect, when you saw that some of the members were talking about going to play badminton with Seungkwan.
“For fun?” You repeated, dumbly. You couldn’t believe that Jeonghan was speaking to you.
“Ah, yeah I wanna know what nuna does in her free time!” Dokyeom piped in.
“You call her nuna and everything?” Jeonghan asked sharply, with the energy of an older sibling reprimanding their younger brother for being rude.
“She said I could!” Dokyeom whined.
“It’s unprofessional. Don’t make Y/N-shi uncomfortable!” Jeonghan chided back.
“It’s okay, really,” you said sheepishly.
“How old are you?” Jeonghan was looking directly at you now. You couldn’t meet his eyes for more than a second before looking away.
“29,” you said.
“No way!” Jeonghan said, “I thought you’d be way younger!” You could feel your face getting hotter by the second.
“She’s got a young face,” Dokyeom said, smiling.
“Stop flirting,” Jeonghan warned again.
“Touchy...” Dokyeom teased his hyung, continuing to smile as though nothing was wrong. Dokyeom had a naturally sunny, playful disposition. You kind of envied him. You swore you caught him looking at you... his face seemed puzzled for a moment.
“You’re annoying,” Dokyeom said suddenly to Jeonghan, “I’m going to practice this bridge in the hallway.”
“I’m annoying?” Jeonghan said, chuckling to himself as Dokyeom left. You turned to bow in Dokyeom’s direction, but he simply winked at you.
What was that? You wondered, unsure how to get your face to behave the way you wanted it to and settling for simply facing away from Jeonghan. He was wearing baggy clothes, and had his long, dark hair half up. He wasn’t wearing any makeup.
I wonder what skincare products he uses. You wondered as you became slightly less tense. He’s so pretty.
“You didn’t answer my question.”
Or maybe you were even more tense than before.
You turned slightly, still unable to look Jeonghan directly in the eye. He was seated on a couch at the far end of the studio, looking up at you as you stood stiffly beside him.
“Uh,” you didn’t know what to say. You couldn’t think of a single thing that you did for fun since moving to Seoul. You had been too busy. Some of the other staff had asked you out to drinks after work once, but that was so long ago... and you’d ended up going home shortly after getting there because you were so exhausted.
“Well...” you tried to continue.
“Ah! You can say it in English,” Jeonghan said. Your stomach nearly fell right out of your body. You were certain that your face was bright red. He thinks I just don’t know the words... that’s so... cute.
“Haha, to be honest I can’t think of anything because I work so much,” you said, sticking to Korean, “but when I lived in the States, I liked to play billiards at bars. Or go to karaoke. And rock climbing.” You spoke rapidly because you were nervous, then hesitated before stealing a glance at Jeonghan.
“Wow,” his face was genuinely shocked. You weren’t sure what to say next.
“Sorry,” you said out of habit.
“No! Don’t be sorry! Your Korean is just really good. I didn’t realize because you hardly ever say anything. How did you learn to speak like that? You don’t look Korean at all.”
“I’m not,” you said, “... languages have just always been... kind of an interest of mine.”
“Wow,” he said, “so, you’re like a genius.”
“Not at all,” you said, feeling like you were about to faint you were so excited and nervous. This was the longest conversation you had ever had with him. You couldn’t really believe it was happening, that he was looking right at you. You hadn’t felt his gaze leave you for a second.
“When’s your birthday?” he asked suddenly.
“What?”
“Your birthday!” he said, smiling at you. It kind of felt like he was making fun of you, but you didn’t even care.
“Why?” You weren’t sure whether to play along, but immediately regretted not just telling him. Why am I being so cagey about it? You scolded yourself, the butterflies in your stomach going out of control.
“I want to know if I should call you “nuna” or not.”
“What!?” you couldn’t help but get flustered.
“What’s up?” two other staff members looked up from the monitor they were looking at to turn in your direction, surprised by your sudden outburst. You knew your face was bright red, and you could see Jeonghan grinning like a little boy out of the corner of your eye. He is making fun of me.
“Boemseok-hyung,” Jeonghan said to the gentlemen standing not too far from you, “did you know Y/N-shi’s age?” You turned to Jeonghan, mortified that he would bring this up to someone else.
“No,” Boemseok said, turning to you, “but I’d guess...”
“It’s hard to tell,” the other woman on staff said.
“Yeah, I can never guess foreigners’ ages right,” Boemseok said.
“She’s older than me!” Jeonghan said, and your heart skipped a beat.
“Oh, wow,” the woman said, “you do take good care of your skin, then.”
“Yeah, I’m surprised,” Boemseok said.
“Haha, thank you...” you bowed nervously.
“You know you don’t have to bow so much, Y/N-shi,” Jeonghan said, his tone still smug. What is this? Are we this familiar now? You were panicking on the inside.
“Sorry,” you said.
“Don’t apologize!”
“Sorry!”
Was this man trying to kill you? You could barely handle this sudden playful dynamic that seemed to come from nowhere.
“When’s your birthday?”
“August 28th.” You answered.
“Ah, I can call you nuna.”
“That’s fine with me.” You didn’t realize it, but the grin that had been slowly creeping across your face as you two talked now blossomed on your face. Jeonghan felt himself smile involuntarily.
“You’ve been here for a while now and this is the first time I’ve seen you smile,” he said.
Your heart almost stopped. All you could do was stare at him.
“We’re all on the same team, right?” his voice was velvety, and you were sure that he could tell how enamored you were. “It’s okay to loosen up a little.”
It’s not okay, Yoon Jeonghan, you thought.
“Thanks,” you said, in spite of your skyrocketing heartrate.
It’s not okay at all.

Could you say what your skin care and makeup routine is? What are your fave makeup products? Ty :)
Hmmm long answer because I love this stuff =(^.^)=
Right now my skincare routine is all over the place, but I can tell u products I’m using.
I use the Caudalie foaming cleanser
In the morning, I’ll use either isclinical vitamin c serum or caudalie vinosource serum after cleansing and then I’ll use Nuxe creme fraiche moisturizer. It’s amazing! I just ran out and will have to buy it again. I’ve been using a Tatcha sunscreen and it’s OK - I’m not going to repurchase it. I have a lot of sunscreens to try rn, but I really like innisfree sunscreen. Good price point & works well. Trying a bottle of eltamd sunscreen next.
I also really like cosrx products - def more affordable and work really well.
I’m so bad at exfoliating, but when I do - the Dr Dennis Gross pads are great. I used mandelic acid by face reality for a bit too which I also like.
I do some research on skincare and try a bunch of stuff. I was in Paris earlier this year which is why my skincare routine is like all French rn lol. I have some expensive products that I got for free from friends who worked for estheticians. I cut out tretinoin from my routine bc it was making me soooo dehydrated and sensitive.
For makeup: the likely makeup clown blush is amazing! I use the yellow blush every day. I think it’s essential to find liquid eyeliners with good tips - rn I like the fenty beauty and rare beauty liquid eyeliners. I also love white liquid eyeliner - makeup forever has a good one. And for lip products idk lol I just go in sephora and buy random stuff. I like a lot of korean lip products rn, the glosses and tints are fun. Colored mascara always! Idk - I think it’s just fun to figure out new ways to use what u already own. I also love Aquaphor…

Korean skincare
okay guys so Korean skincare has been my obsession lately, it has taken the beauty world to a different level, so Korean skincare mainly focuses on maintaining healthy skin rather than just covering flaws with makeup which I love that they think this, their innovative ingredients like niacinamide, snail mucin, fermented extracts, ginseng and rice water, their products are lightweight and designed to be layered for maximum hydration without clogging pores, it's affordable and with a wide variety of products.
One of my favorite brands is "Beauty of Joseon" it's a really great brand they combine traditional Korean ingredients with modern formulations, other great brands are COSRX which is great for acne, Innisfree, Laneige, Anua, and Dr. Jart+ these are some Korean brands that I know of.
Korean skincare has its iconic 10-step skincare routine that consists of an oil-based cleanser, water-based cleanser, exfoliator, toner, essence, serum, sheet mask, eye cream, moisturizer, and lastly, sunscreen.
So far I've liked the Korean skincare line some of my favorite products are their sunscreen, toner, serums, and moisturizer, perhaps you would like to share your favorite Korean skincare products I would love to try them! :)

Korean Skincare?
Alright, let’s dive into the fabulous world of Korean skincare! First off, can we talk about how freaking adorable their packaging is? I mean, seriously, these products look like they belong on the cover of a beauty magazine. They totally caught my eye every single time. But here’s the tea, it’s not just about the cute looks. These products are a solid 10/10. And the best part? They won’t break the bank like some of those bougie brands we know.
The Magic of Ingredients
Now, let’s get into the real magic ingredients. Korean skincare is all about using the coolest, most unique ingredients you can imagine. Think snail slime (yes, you heard me right), propolis, fermented yeast, and all sorts of exotic plant goodies. And guess what? These aren’t just for show. Snail mucin is like a hydration hero, and propolis is a skin-soothing superstar. It’s like every product is a little magic potion, custom-made to fix your skin’s issues and keep it glowing. My fav is the one from COSRX, top!
The 10-Step Routine
Alright, pretties, don’t freak out when you hear about the 10-step routine. It’s not as crazy as it sounds. It’s more about finding what works for you and layering up the goodness. The steps usually include oil cleansers, water-based cleansers, exfoliators, toners, essences, serums, sheet masks, eye creams, moisturizers, and sunscreen. Each step has its own special job, making sure your skin gets all the love it needs. You don’t have to do all ten every day—just mix and match based on what your skin needs.
Customization and Personalization
One of the best things about Korean skincare? It’s totally customizable. You can tailor your routine to exactly what your skin needs. Got dry skin? Pile on those hydrating toners and rich moisturizers. Breaking out? Look for products with tea tree oil or salicylic acid. It’s all about experimenting and finding the perfect combo for you. It’s like your skin’s own personal fairy tale, and you get to be the author.
Affordability Meets Quality
And here’s the kicker—these amazing products are super affordable. Yup, you heard me right. High-quality, effective skincare without the crazy price tags. Brands like COSRX, Etude House, and Innisfree offer fabulous products that are budget-friendly. You can build a whole skincare routine without feeling like you just maxed out your credit card. It’s like living your best skincare life without the guilt.
Innovation at its Best
Korean skincare is always ahead of the game with their innovations. From bubbling masks to peel-off foot masks and lightweight gel creams to cushion compacts, there’s always something new and exciting. And these aren’t just gimmicks—they’re designed to make your skincare routine more effective and fun. It’s like a little skincare party every day, keeping things fresh and fabulous.
Community and Culture
Skincare in Korea is more than just a routine—it’s a cultural thing. It’s a bonding activity, shared between family and friends. There’s a big emphasis on starting skincare young and seeing it as a key part of health and wellness. This approach is spreading globally, encouraging all of us to take better care of our skin in a holistic, consistent way.
Final Thoughts
So, whether you’re a skincare newbie or a seasoned pro, Korean skincare has something for everyone. It’s a beautiful mix of science and tradition, luxury and affordability. Next time you’re shopping for skincare, give Korean brands a try. Your skin—and your wallet—will thank you.
Remember, skincare is self-care, and with Korean products, you’re in for a treat with every step. Enjoy the journey, experiment with new products, and most importantly, have fun. Glow on, gorgeous!
Stay tune for more glow up informarion!

maybe it's because i live in country where using Basic Skincare is seen as unmanly so men age like milk and have massive acne scars, sun spots, can't afford a derm, don't know how to get help... this is sooo untrue. my friend's mom runs a beauty salon and had to chase her teenage son with micellar water soaked cottonpad everyday because otherwise he wouldn't be cleaning his face properly and use high ph soaps to ruined his skin barrier and caused breakouts
like i also know many women who don't do skincare seriously, sleep in makeup and their face is fine. i was called a freak whenever i said i wear spf all year long
you have to be tripping
like i was there on the reddits when skicare boom of 2010s begun, alone the impact the ordinary (rip the founder brandon) had. skincare wasn't taken seriously by big western brands to the point korean skincare products had no equivalent and people were buying acne patches, emulsions, lotions, essences directly from sk
2000s skincare being all high ph anti-acne cleansing foams, harsh alcoholic toners, abrasive peelings... you couldn't buy a hyaluronic acid serum or ceramide cream in every drugstore cause brands weren't making this type of products!!! people wouldn't be even putting on a moisturizer really
bc of the internet skincare market became x100 more valueable. blame r/skincareaddiction i guess

Why korean makeup is so popular ?
Default (GPT-3.5)
Why korean makeup is so popular /ChatGPT
Korean makeup has gained immense popularity worldwide for several reasons:
Innovative Products: Korean beauty brands are known for their innovation in makeup products. They often introduce unique and novel formulas, packaging, and application methods, which pique the interest of makeup enthusiasts.
Skincare-Centric Approach: Korean makeup is closely tied to skincare. Many Korean makeup products contain ingredients that are beneficial for the skin, blurring the line between makeup and skincare. This approach is appealing to those who prioritize healthy, radiant skin.
Natural and Youthful Look: Korean makeup trends often focus on achieving a natural and youthful appearance. This is in contrast to heavy makeup looks popular in some Western cultures. The Korean approach involves creating a clean and fresh look that enhances one's features rather than masking them.
Inclusivity: Korean makeup brands have been praised for offering a wide range of shades and products to suit various skin tones and types. This inclusivity has helped them attract a diverse customer base.
Cultural Influence: The global popularity of K-pop and Korean dramas has also contributed to the spread of Korean beauty trends. Fans of these cultural phenomena often seek to emulate the makeup looks of their favorite idols and actors.
Affordability: Many Korean makeup products are affordable, making them accessible to a broad range of consumers. This affordability is particularly appealing to younger consumers and those on a budget.
Cute and Aesthetic Packaging: Korean makeup products are often packaged in cute and aesthetically pleasing designs. This appeals to consumers who enjoy collecting and displaying their makeup.
Online Influence: Social media and the rise of beauty influencers have played a significant role in popularizing Korean makeup. Makeup tutorials, reviews, and recommendations from influencers on platforms like YouTube and Instagram have helped spread the trend.
Education and Information: Korean beauty brands often provide detailed instructions and tips on how to use their products, making it easier for consumers to achieve the desired look.
High-Quality Ingredients: Many Korean makeup products are formulated with high-quality ingredients and are held to rigorous standards of quality, which can instill confidence in consumers.
In conclusion, Korean makeup's popularity can be attributed to its innovative products, emphasis on natural beauty, inclusivity, affordability, cultural influence, aesthetic packaging, online presence, educational resources, and a commitment to high-quality ingredients. These factors have combined to make Korean makeup a global beauty trend.

Luxe Organix's Aloe Vera Soothing Gel- the best and affordable multi-purpose soothing gel
Soothing gels are known for moisturizing skin and soothe irritated skin and sunburns. Luxe Organix's Aloe Vera Soothing Gel is one of the best and affordable soothing gels out there! It's gentle on the skin and it's also multi-purposed.
Appearance and sizes
The Aloe Vera Soothing Gel of Luxe Organix comes in different sizes. The image above is the 300ml tub but there is also a 100ml sachet that is cheaper than the 300ml tub.
Description
The product originated in Korea. Korean skincare is all about putting nutrients back into the skin so they use natural ingredients.
Luxe Organix Aloe Vera Soothing Gel has 99.85% Aloe Vera that instantly moisturizes skin, treats dry hair, soothes sunburns, and can also be used as an after shave gel and nail care essence.
It is paraben free, alcohol free, and has no artificial color.
The product comes with a small type of spatula.
Ingredients
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Water, Glycerin, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, PEG-60, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fragrance, Centella Asiatica Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower / Leaf / Stem Extract, Rosmarinus Officianlis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilia Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate
Personal Experience
I remember purchasing a single 300ml tub of Luxe Organix Aloe Vera Soothing Gel for 219 pesos in December 2021, but I haven't been using it regularly, so I still have it today. Given that it expires in the year 2024, I can state that its shelf life is acceptable.
I bought one on impulse after learning from my sister that it relieves skin burns. Because the product benefited me in so many ways, I never looked back on that decision.
I use it on my face, neck, dry skin areas, and underarms. My dry, sensitive skin need continuous hydration. Thankfully, the soothing gel prevented my face from breaking out. Additionally, it helped me avoid having chicken skin under my arms. I much like using it to hydrate some areas of dry skin because it absorbs rapidly and isn't sticky like lotion.
To check if there was an impact, I also tried putting it to my hair before taking a bath, but since I don't use it every day, I don't see many differences. Considering that one of its uses is to treat dry hair, it would undoubtedly make my hair smoother and shinier if I used it every day.
Overall
My tub is almost empty and I certainly will buy another one to moisturize my skin.

‘One, two, connect!’— South Korean Boy Group ENHYPEN, who wrecked numbers of chart-topping music charts and billboards, sold out thousands of album copies and is now called “The Future Powerhouse of K-Pop,” became the newest Ambassadors of the Local Brand Cosmetics’ BYS’ as it celebrated their 10th Anniversary at the You be You Campaign. Their members Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki promote the products as the campaign’s main ambassadors. Released last 2022 on the 1st week of October, it was the teaser of the Korean Boy Group promoting the newest collaboration with BYS called “You be You.” The brand “BYS” offers quality and affordable makeup and skincare cosmetics best used for Filipina skin. Moreover, the collaboration with ENHYPEN and BYS propounds the idea of setting new and playful experiences to create, innovate and empower users to be their best version of themselves by using these products that paved the way to a powerful collaboration with Enhypen.
The Collaboration line itself contains products that have seasonal versions depending on which color palette you’ll tend to choose from. Upon purchasing kits, you’ll be able to get a ticket for their Fun Meet that happened last December 3, 2022, at the Araneta Coliseum. In conclusion, their fandom name “Engenes” purchased thousands of kits to have the chance to see the K-Pop idols in person and created waves of purchases in the first week resulting in multiple-tier sellouts. One of the reasons was the golden ticket that happened to have a special chance to see the K-Pop Idols up close. Engenes initiated restocking tickets for the seats, which indeed did the marketing strategy work, and served its proper job.
With its strategy, the collaboration products and the fan meet did have a win-win marketing. With how the products have been purchased in the side of the Cosmetic Brand, and the chance to see the K-Pop idols in their very first Manila Fan Meeting Experience was beyond uproar and created a frenzy not only in the fandom but almost in all K-Pop sanity in the Philippines. Media Manipulation, as far as I could analyze, could potentially be present in this advertisement collaboration. Being physically present during the fan meet event—the handling of almost everything was negligent and reckless, very unorganized. Considering the number of fans present during the event deceived by the fruitful teasers and posters, they sure milked out the idols by carelessly managing the event and the advertisements.
But with all things considered, it cannot be denied that the fact it was broadcasted to different channel sources of the country—mainstream, online, and social media platforms were shaken by how the marketing of the collaboration advertisement became viral and controversial at the same time—it was indeed an effective play of advertisement. As an engene myself, it sure made the group well-known in a broader reach of the audience not only in the K-Pop world but also in the whole country.

Exploring Korean Skincare: What Makes It So Effective?
Korean skincare, often referred to as K-Beauty, has become a global sensation over the past few years. From the promise of “glass skin” to the innovative use of unique ingredients, it’s no surprise that beauty enthusiasts around the world are adopting these products and routines. But what exactly makes Korean skincare so effective? Let’s dive deeper into its philosophy, routines, and the secrets behind its success.
The Philosophy Behind Korean Skincare
Unlike many other beauty trends, Korean skincare is more than just a collection of products—it’s a holistic approach to skin health. The philosophy emphasizes prevention, hydration, and consistency. Rather than covering up imperfections, the focus is on nurturing the skin and addressing concerns at their root.
This dedication to long-term results means taking the time to care for your skin daily, often treating it like a self-care ritual rather than a chore. The ultimate goal? Achieve healthy, radiant skin that glows from within.
The Famous Multi-Step Skincare Routine
One of the standout features of Korean skincare is the multi-step routine. While it’s often associated with 10 steps, the beauty of this routine lies in its adaptability. It can be tailored to suit your individual skin needs, whether that’s a minimal five-step routine or the full 10 steps on days you want to indulge. Here’s a breakdown of the iconic steps:
Oil Cleanse: Removes makeup, sunscreen, and impurities.
Foam Cleanse: Deep-cleanses the skin without stripping it.
Exfoliation: Clears away dead skin cells for a smoother texture.
Toner: Balances the skin’s pH and preps it for the next steps.
Essence: A lightweight hydrating formula that enhances absorption.
Serum or Ampoule: Targets specific concerns like fine lines, dark spots, or acne.
Sheet Mask: Infuses skin with hydration and nutrients.
Eye Cream: Hydrates and protects the delicate under-eye area.
Moisturizer: Locks in moisture and maintains hydration levels.
Sunscreen: Protects the skin from harmful UV rays (a daytime essential).
This methodical layering ensures that each product works synergistically, delivering maximum benefits.
Innovative and Unique Ingredients
Korean skincare is renowned for its use of groundbreaking and often unconventional ingredients. These are carefully chosen to be both effective and gentle on the skin. Some popular examples include:
Snail Mucin: Known for its healing and hydrating properties, it helps repair the skin barrier and improve elasticity.
Centella Asiatica (Cica): A soothing herb that calms redness and irritation, making it perfect for sensitive skin.
Fermented Ingredients: Such as rice water, which brightens and deeply nourishes the skin.
Propolis and Honey: Natural antibacterial agents that moisturize and protect.
Ginseng: A traditional remedy that revitalizes and combats signs of aging.
These ingredients, combined with advanced formulations, set Korean skincare apart from traditional beauty products.
Affordability and Accessibility
Another reason for K-Beauty’s widespread appeal is its affordability. High-quality products are available at various price points, making it accessible to everyone. Whether you’re on a budget or looking to splurge, Korean skincare offers a range of options to suit your needs. From affordable brands like COSRX and Innisfree to luxury lines like Sulwhasoo, there’s something for every skin type and budget.
Cultural Influence and Global Popularity
In Korea, skincare isn’t just a trend; it’s a lifestyle. Skin health is prioritized from a young age, and beauty rituals are often passed down through generations. The global popularity of K-Pop idols and K-Drama stars has further amplified this trend, showcasing the importance of glowing, youthful skin in Korean culture.
How to Start Your K-Beauty Journey
If you’re ready to try Korean skincare but don’t know where to start, here are some tips:
Identify Your Skin Type: Understanding whether your skin is oily, dry, combination, or sensitive is key to choosing the right products.
Start Simple: Begin with the basics—a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Add products like serums or sheet masks as needed.
Introduce Products Gradually: Test new products one at a time to see how your skin reacts.
Some beginner-friendly brands to explore include Etude House, Laneige, and COSRX. Remember, consistency is crucial to seeing long-term results.
Conclusion: The Secret to Korean Skincare’s Effectiveness
Korean skincare’s effectiveness lies in its combination of innovative ingredients, a holistic philosophy, and an emphasis on long-term skin health. It’s not just about achieving a temporary glow but building a foundation for healthy skin that lasts. Whether you’re looking for hydration, anti-aging, or soothing solutions, K-Beauty offers a world of possibilities.
So why not give it a try? With customizable routines and products that cater to every skin type, Korean skincare might just be the upgrade your skincare routine needs!

one of my biggest pet peeves is obviously wealthy makeup influencers like Angela Bright going 'I can't give you a big discount on my $15 usd a pair glamour lashes guys, I'm a small business!' as if they're making them themselves and not outsourcing the labor to poor women in the global south paid pennies per pair who have to endure back pain/eye strain to make them. and who end disabled from the 'work'.
[...]Many of the biggest names in fashion source from factories in Purbalingga, including L'Oréal, Shu Uemura, MAC, Kiss, Make Up For Ever and Maybelline. The small town in central Java has proved attractive to the South Korean-dominated industry because of its comparatively low legal minimum wage, less than half that in the capital, Jakarta. It is a job for young women, requiring total concentration; workers say it leaves them with sore eyes and aching limbs and backs. By the time they reach 40, their eyesight is too poor, according to the Royal Korindah factory manager, Very Anjarwinarto. Workers in Royal Korindah's main factory do earn the legal minimum, but it has also employed hundreds more women in satellite workshops where wage slips reveal that they can receive just half the legal minimum – about 4p for each pair they make. [...]
The Asia Floor Wage Alliance – which campaigns for workers' rights in the region – calculates that a family of four in Indonesia needs £166 a month to cover their basic needs. About 90% of the estimated 100,000 workers employed in the false eyelash business in Purbalingga are women. In one house Friti, 20, a new mother nursing a baby, said she was making lashes for Royal Korindah's partnership workshop in Arenan for just 2p a pair. She was previously employed in the workshop, but quit when she was seven months pregnant. Now she juggles caring for the baby with making eyelashes for the company on her own loom, sitting on the rough concrete floor of her dark and empty home, with its breezeblock-and-bamboo walls. The child lies on a blanket behind her. "I finished school, but did not have the money to go on in higher education, though I would have liked to," she said. "I wanted to be a teacher, but now I think I will always be doing this, because I don't know what else to do. Sometimes I feel dizzy and I have problems with my eyes, but I can't afford glasses. I've never worn false eyelashes, but I think I'd quite like to try a pair, just to know how it feels."
In Purbalingga, central Java, numerous small workshops represent the first step in a global supply chain. Almost all workers are women, all of them scraping a living by measuring and cutting artificial hair to the requisite size for false eyelashes, and then knitting them onto a thin plastic thread. The job requires intense concentration, often leaving workers with sore eyes and backs. Their financial remuneration for such monotonous work is about $0.04 per pair, sometimes lower. By the time the product reaches Western consumers, the price they pay has often reached $10 a pair – a mark-up of 2,400%.

India Lipstick Market Size, Share and Growth Forecast 2032
India lipstick market is projected to witness a CAGR of 9.55% during the forecast period FY2025-FY2032, growing from USD 629.42 million in FY2024 to USD 1305.69 million in FY2032. Lipstick, a cosmetic product that has been a beauty staple for centuries, remains dominant in India, symbolizing affordability and self-expression for consumers across various demographics.
Over the past years, India lipstick market has evolved incredibly, and the vigorous growth is characterized by factors such as changing consumer preferences, increasing disposable incomes, and the growing influence of social media. With rapid urbanization, beauty standards have shapeshifted, and lipsticks have notably transcended their traditional role, becoming an essential part of everyday grooming for millions.
Today, the market is fashioned by domestic and international key players, including Lakme, Maybelline, Nykaa, Kay Beauty, and Estee Lauder. Homegrown brands such as Sugar Cosmetics and MyGlamm are offering myriad shades, textures, and finishes to cater to an increasingly diverse audience.
The ascent of direct-to-consumer (D2) channels has significantly democratized access to all sorts of lipsticks, including premium ones, consequently fostering fierce competition in pricing, innovation, and marketing strategies.
Additionally, with the growing prevalence of eco-consciousness, vegan, cruelty-free, and sustainable products have gained prominence. To stay on top, brands are constantly working on their portfolios and product developments across price tiers.
In August 2024, Kay Beauty expanded its lipstick portfolio with a recording-breaking debut of its Hydra Crème Lipsticks which are formulated with nourishing ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid and Lychee Extracts for soft and hydrated lips throughout the day.
Growing Popularity for Minimal, Natural Looks Driving Forward India Lipstick Market
The preference for minimal, natural beauty has seen a sharp rise in India. Consumers are gravitating toward minimalistic, no-makeup makeup looks rather than heavily made-up looks. This, in turn, has pushed the demand for lighter, more natural-looking, and multipurpose products such as tinted lip balms, lip oils, lip tints, and glosses. These products, along with enhancing natural beauty, also serve the surging desire for a fresh, dewy, and effortless aesthetic.
For instance, homegrown brand, Ilana Organics tapped into this trend with its clean-ingredients-rich Lip & Cheek Tint, which combines skincare benefits with a subtle color payoff. Similarly, Korean brand, Laneige’s Lip Glowy Balm has become a cult urban favorite which delivers a glossy, dewy finish while ensuring hydration and care.
In this digital-first age, social media influencers and beauty bloggers have drastically impacted and amplified this trend by showcasing PR packages, and collaborations, giving honest reviews, and creating a range of minimal makeup looks, whether it’s for an occasion, a meeting or running an errand.
Staying in sync with the demand from consumers seeking nourishment alongside “barely-there” makeup, brands are formulating products infused with skin-friendly ingredients such as peptides, hyaluronic acid, shea butter, argan oil, and more.
The growing resonance of glosses, balms, and lip oil reflects a broader cultural evolution towards cherishing individuality and promoting natural beauty. With consumers, irrespective of gender, incorporating these skin-benefitting products in their daily self-care routines, it is a budding opportunity for brands to tap into the trend, innovate and expand their product portfolios.
In March 2024, Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty in India. The globally acclaimed, “Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer”, available in 5 shades, gained immense traction in India. This is primarily because of its formula that is enriched with AHA’s, glycolic acid and antioxidants which also provides a non-sticky formula.
Conscious Consumerism and Growing Demand for Clean, Sustainable and Cruelty-Free Products
The escalating consumer awareness around health, sustainability, and ethical considerations has propelled the demand for cruelty-free and sustainable lipsticks in India. According to a 2024 study, 47% of consumers in India choose natural ingredients as the key feature in facial skincare products, and 30% of consumers claim they are paying attention to ingredients more as compared to 6 months ago.
This driver is more pronounced among Gen Z and millennials, who align their purchases with ethical values. The conscious consumers are increasingly scrutinizing ingredient lists and brand ethics. They seek products devoid of synthetics, parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, carmine, and harsh chemicals. Consumers revere brands that are vocal about their sourcing and origins of ingredients (such as Saffron from Kashmir). This somehow reckons a revival of traditional beauty rituals, rooted in natural remedies and generational wisdom. For instance, Forest Essentials uses natural pigments derived from fruits and flowers in its lipsticks and has positioned itself as a leader in the clean beauty segment.
Furthermore, vegan certifications and eco-friendly packaging are becoming prominent USPs for consumers purchasing any product. This segment is poised for positive growth as clean beauty transitions from a niche to a mainstream marketing trend.
In September 2024, 100% vegan Indian beauty brand, Kiro Beauty launched its latest lip product, Slickstick Luxe Matte. The USP of the product is that it is enriched with peptides, hyaluronic filling spheres and plant-derived squalene.
Digital Influence and E-commerce Penetration Driving the Growth of India Lipstick Market
Digital platforms have revolutionized the way lipsticks are marketed and consumed. With platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube showcasing beauty tutorials, influencer endorsements, and product reviews, consumer interest is at an all-time high.
Moreover, e-commerce platforms such as Nykaa, Tata Cliq, Tira, and Amazon have enabled consumers to explore and purchase from extensive catalogs without stepping out, further bolstered by features like virtual try-ons and exclusive online discounts. Nowadays, quick commerce platforms such as Zepto and Blinkit have also partnered with beauty brands, providing the utmost convenience and accessibility, which is expanding the lipstick market’s reach beyond urban centers to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
In July 2024, luxury beauty brand, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) launched in India in collaboration with Nykaa. The introduction of YSL Beauty to the Indian market by Nykaa marks a significant enhancement in the luxury beauty segment, offering consumers access to world-renowned lipsticks and other products that embody sophistication and innovation.
Emerging Diversity and Absence of Gender Norms to Boost India Lipstick Market Growth
Conventionally perceived as a feminine domain, India lipstick market is undergoing a seismic transition, with changing societal norms and growing inclusivity of diverse identities driving the shift.
While women continue to dominate as the primary consumer base, there’s a noticeable rise in the adoption of lipsticks among men, non-binary individuals, and transgender communities.
This evolving beauty trend represents a broader cultural acceptance and self-expression. Spearheading this transformation is social media and pop culture. Beauty influencers, models, and makeup artists from diverse backgrounds, including men and transgender individuals, are normalizing the use of makeup products such as lipstick as a medium for self-expression, creativity, and confidence. Consequently, brands acknowledge these shifting tides by launching gender-neutral campaigns and all-inclusive product portfolios suitable for a wider audience.
Gen Z and millennials are catalyzing the growth and dynamism of this market as they are always at the forefront of embracing authenticity and breaking stereotypes, which is why products once marketed solely for women are now being demanded across all genders.
For instance, in December 2024, Sushant Divgikr, an LGBTQ activist, collaborated with Sugar Cosmetics on Instagram and raved about its Glide Peptide Serum Lipstick that provides a hydrating and comfortable wear.

fyi cosmetic brands are not exactly honest about concentration in cosmetics, just use whatever you can afford. every country has different regulations regarding the order of things on ingredients list. i used to see a lot of 'omg they reformulated!' posts on polish skincare groups whenever korean brand started selling stuff officially and had to re-write ingredients list order to comply with eu regulations (you can't sell a foreign made beauty product without ingredients list translated). normally the order goes from 'most to least' but under certain % you can list the ingredients in whatever order you want. so some companies move ingredients that are most enticing to the consumers up front. let's say a formulation has 4 ingredients that are under a 10% mark that allows order randomization. it should go 9% preservative 8% fragrance 7% fatty alcohol 3% herb extract 2% trehalose. but the brand knows consumers won't like that so they usually move the last 2 i mentioned to the front. it's legal. another things is sunscreens notoriously being sold as spf 50+ and later on independent tests show that the accurate rating is spf 2. or the trend where brands release products with super high % of active substance when it's not only not recommended by derms to use this much but also you consumers can injure their skin. it's better to use lower % on regular basis over longer period of time. and who knows if the % is even legit and if the rest of the formula actually is designed in a way that allows the active to penetrate the skin and do anything. collagen serums for one won't do much except moisturize. they won't smooth out wrinkles idk. skincare industry is focused on selling shit to women and alike, which is kinda vile considering how much hormones can wreck your skin even if you do "everything right". and your body is running on hormones and skin is ever-changing
