does anyone else form their headcanons of marinette and adrien largely on the basis of "they have to be opposite each other"? like, creation and destruction, yin and yang, etc. like Marinette being late all the time and sleeping through her alarms? so she's probably a deep sleeper? So that means, by the laws of my lovesquare headcanons according to my brain, Adrien has to be a light sleeper. Marinette is a chaotic creative person and I can imagine her just having so much STUFF all around and living in organized chaos. so therefore Adrien likes his spaces neat and clear. (also something something creation and clutter vs destruction and emptiness) you know??? ???? ? adrien and marinette headcanons just cant be independent of each other in my brain. they are always intrinsically linked

I know all of these were due to plagg lol but I’m glad they’re letting my boy be over the top goofy again in his civilian form ‼️

Real Adrien heads know he was always silly lol, but a lot of his little mannerisms and expressions that were more prevalent when rewatching season one got covered up with blank faced Adrien sweetness in later seasons and, while it did help further emphasis the control Gabriel had over him (wink wink), and the thousand yard soft eyes stare is still very Adrien, I’m glad he’s back to letting his goofy ass self shine through!! he is cringe fail like his gf and they are showing it again bless up 🫶

(While we’re on the topic though, I also hope a lot of his sarcasm and wit that he had back then comes back as well! He was a diva in season one let us see that again!!)

Ok we have another one to add to the list!!!!!!

So I've seen a lot of people arguing about the whole "but Marinette made the decision for him!" thing in Werepapas, and honestly I think it's another Lady Macbeth/Baby It's Cold Outside scenario.

So the argument here, if you don't know it, is whether Lady Macbeth pressured Macbeth into killing the King, or whether she saw that it was what he wanted to do, and encouraged him because his conscience was getting in the way of something he clearly wanted to do. I can't be arsed to explain Baby It's Cold Outside but you get the gist.

So, the argument here is - Adrien still doesn't get to make his own decision. But did Marinette make the decision for him, or did she encourage him towards the decision he was always going to make? To me, the part where Adrien said he didn't know what he wanted was VERY in character. It read very much as him not wanting to offend anyone or cause another fight (like the one they literally JUST went through). But, really, was he ever going to make a different decision? He was choosing between Nathalie, who from the flashbacks and *gestures* the Rest Of The Series clearly cares about him, he knows her well, she loves him. Or a couple of strangers he just met that day. Adrien clearly, throughout the episode, expresses that he wants to stay in Paris, with Nathalie, and he is repeatedly ignored. To me, this moment is not Marinette making the decision for him - it's her standing up for him and saying to him that he can speak his mind. Remember, Adrien's spent his whole life under his father's thumb. He never could say what he wanted for fear of retaliation.

There IS a theme of other people making decisions for Adrien, obviously with the grandparents, but also with Nathalie herself. I will defend her until the ends of the Earth, but she did decide on her own that Adrien would be better off with biological family - granted, there's CLEARLY something influencing this feeling, plus the grandparents talking about how she's not family and has no right to look after Adrien, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some kind of backstory there - but once again, even though she thinks it's for the best, and the best thing for Adrien even if it hurts her (which it clearly does), she's still making a decision for Adrien. She's blinded by the fact that she's obviously at some point been told that she's not his family and never will be (the guilt from being Mayura and aiding and abetting his father is probably coming into play too) and so she makes a decision that ultimately, Adrien should have had a say in. And Marinette, like she did in the Special, puts her foot down and says, actually, you are his family, or the closest thing left, so listen to him when he says you are. I also found it very funny when Marinette literally tells Nathalie "you're an adult", and follows it up with basically "so do something about this". But you get my gist - ALL of the characters are making decisions for Adrien, and Marinette SEES this, and encourages Adrien to make the decision HE wants, and not the one that will please his grandparents.

my favourite thing in this new season is Adrien dealing with Marinette's weirdness

she's hiding in the bushes and stalking his new friend? don't worry, she does that with people she likes. she's desperately trying to convince him to crash the girl's night? he says no, gently reassures her that he's not upset she mixed up the dates, and promises to see her later. she's decided they're not kissing on the lips today for completely unknown reasons? cheek kisses it is! she wants to dress up as a maid and crash his family reunion? sure, it would be nice to have her there.

Adrien Agreste had never been given any formal lessons on bovine anatomy as part of his homeschooling, meaning anything he concluded about cows and their bodies would simply be up to him guessing. But as his teeth sunk into the thick buttercream of the cupcake, he vividly imagined for a second that the milk ducts in a cow's udders might occasionally deal with blockages, slowly filling with all manner of milk and pus and creamy, thick fluid and creating large painful lumps deep inside tissue. And should they be surgically removed, he surmised, Adrien could imagine these hypothetical mounds of milky buildup being rather thick, rather dense, and rather buttery, perhaps even heavy enough to suffocate him.

Adrien had to bite back a wave of bile from surging up his throat as the buttercream invaded his tongue, heavy and sweet and spreading like a viral film throughout his mouth.

He was sure the buttercream was, by all technical accounts, some of the best in the city. He was sure anything made by the Dupain-Chengs was probably flawlessly delicious to the average person.

"How is it?" Marinette asked, her fingers laced together as she awaited his answer with wide, bright blue eyes.

Adrien moved the muscles in his face into the closest thing to a smile that he could possibly manage. "It's great," he reassured her, his voice coming out slightly whiny as tears pricked his eyes. "...Thank you so much."

Adrien swallowed deeply, his shoulders moving up as he felt that creamy, buttery synthesis slide down his throat like the slimy path of a snail. Oh, the wonders of sugary pastries.

Okay, so, I definitely did swoon over ladynoir the entirety of the movie because WOW. YEEEEEEEEEESSS!!! SING FOR YOUR GIRL, CHATON.

But also, I CANNOT get out of my head how FREAKIN ADORABLE Tom and Marinette's interactions were! Daddy's little giiiiiiiiiiirrl! ;-;

The movie was wonderful, I enjoyed it. <3 The only thing I didn't like was Plagg's introduction(fart jokesssss... whyyyyyyyyy... and it just KEPT. GOING.), and obviously some parts had fast pacing because this was so much to condence(Mostly Gabriel's parts, so I didn't care as much), but the moments that it focused on were be-a-u-ti-ful! It's definitely a fun time for miraculous fans.

Now pardonne moi while I go watch it again en Français!
