“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

SCRIPTURE:

They said, “Galileans, why are you standing here, looking toward heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way that you saw Him go into heaven.” ~ Acts of the Apostles 1:11

OBSERVATION:

The implication here is:

"Why're y'all just standing around looking at the sky?"

"Just as He was lifted up without warning, He's coming back without warning..."

"Get a move on - get busy..."

How busy am I most days - with the things of His present/coming/returning kingdom?

Does anything - let alone most things - everything - reflect a joyful, anticipatory focus on - urgency for - being in His presence?

APPLICATION:

Get a move on...

Get joyfully focused...

PRAYER:

Father God Almighty - Your loving focus on me reminds me to be put my focus completely on You and Your coming kingdom - in all I do and say and think - Please forgive my daydreaming and cloud watching that distract me from the tasks at hand so that all I do today will bring You glory and honor - Joyfully in Jesus's Name...

Joyfully in Him...

Ascension of the Lord (Acts 1:1-11)

Ascension Day often feels like the weird stepchild in the family of church events in the Christian Year. It’s often overlooked without ever really being missed.

In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. I don’t think we talk enough about the fact that the blanket Jayce gives Viktor when he wakes up is quite literally Jayces blanket. They would have no reason to keep a blanket in their lab. The only reason (in my opinion) for there being a blanket is because Jayce was sleeping there waiting for Viktor to wake up.

This leads to the only logical conclusion that Viktor despite breaking off their partnership still very deeply cares for and loves Jayce. As he wears the damn blanket for the rest of the whole show.

They are in love, a love that is deeper then our understanding of love. I rest my case.
