The Complete Guide to Women's Clothes: Trends, Styles, and Advice
Fashion is a powerful form of self-expression, and women’s clothes play a pivotal role in shaping this expression. From the timeless classics to the latest trends, understanding the nuances of women’s fashion can elevate your style and enhance your wardrobe. This extensive guide explores current trends, essential styles, and practical advice for making the most out of your women’s clothes.
Tumblr media
The Evolution of Women’s Clothes To fully grasp the current landscape of women’s fashion, it's crucial to understand its historical evolution. Women’s clothing has undergone significant transformations, reflecting broader societal changes and cultural shifts.
Early Influences
In the early 20th century, women’s clothes began to shift from the constrictive garments of the Victorian era to more liberated designs. The 1920s saw the rise of the flapper dress, characterized by its loose fit, dropped waist, and fringe details, symbolizing women’s growing independence and the social changes of the Jazz Age. The 1930s and 1940s introduced more tailored looks, with a focus on elegant, figure-enhancing silhouettes during the war years, thanks to designers like Coco Chanel and Christian Dior.
Mid-Century Developments
The 1950s marked a dramatic shift with the introduction of Dior’s “New Look,” which featured full skirts and cinched waists, embracing a more feminine and elegant style. The 1960s and 70s brought a revolution with bold patterns, mini skirts, and the emergence of unisex clothing. Designers like Mary Quant and André Courrèges led this charge, reflecting the counterculture and liberation movements of the time.
Modern Era
The 1980s continued the trend of bold fashion statements with power dressing and oversized silhouettes, while the 1990s and early 2000s favored casual wear and minimalist aesthetics. Today’s fashion is a mix of past influences and modern innovations, focusing on sustainability, inclusivity, and personal expression.
Current Trends in Women’s Clothes Fashion trends often mirror the zeitgeist, and contemporary women’s clothes reflect a blend of nostalgia, sustainability, and innovative design. Here’s a deeper look into the prominent trends shaping women’s fashion today:
Oversized Blazers
Oversized blazers are a standout trend that combines comfort with style. These blazers offer a relaxed silhouette that can be dressed up for formal occasions or down for casual outings. They are versatile enough to pair with tailored trousers, jeans, or even skirts. This trend is perfect for creating a chic, layered look that effortlessly bridges professional and casual wear.
Sustainable Fashion
Sustainability is more than a trend; it’s a movement reshaping the fashion industry. With growing awareness about environmental impact, sustainable fashion focuses on eco-friendly materials, ethical production practices, and reducing waste. Brands are increasingly incorporating recycled fabrics, using organic cotton, and promoting fair trade practices. Investing in sustainable women’s clothes not only supports environmental responsibility but also offers unique and thoughtful design choices.
Bold Prints and Patterns
Bold prints and patterns are making a significant impact in women’s fashion. Animal prints, floral designs, and geometric patterns add a dynamic element to outfits. These prints can be incorporated into various pieces, from dresses and blouses to accessories. Mixing and matching patterns is also gaining popularity, allowing for creative and personalized styling.
Vintage Revival
Vintage-inspired clothing is making a strong comeback. This trend draws from past decades, reviving styles such as high-waisted jeans, puff sleeves, and retro prints. Vintage revival offers a way to infuse modern wardrobes with classic elegance, creating a timeless and sophisticated look. Incorporating vintage pieces allows for a unique and personal touch to fashion.
Monochromatic Looks
Monochromatic dressing is all about creating a cohesive look using one color family. This trend emphasizes simplicity and elegance, making it easier to create polished and sophisticated outfits. Experimenting with different shades and textures within the same color palette can add depth and interest to monochromatic looks.
Essential Styles in Women’s Clothes A well-rounded wardrobe includes a variety of essential styles that can be adapted for different occasions and settings. Here’s a detailed look at some key styles every woman should consider:
Classic Denim
Denim remains a staple in women’s fashion due to its versatility and durability. A well-fitted pair of jeans—whether skinny, straight-leg, or flared—is essential. Denim can be dressed up with a blazer or dressed down with a T-shirt, making it suitable for both casual and semi-formal occasions. Investing in high-quality denim ensures longevity and comfort.
Little Black Dress (LBD)
The Little Black Dress is a timeless piece that offers unmatched versatility. Its simple elegance makes it appropriate for various occasions, from formal events to casual dinners. The LBD can be accessorized in countless ways, allowing for endless styling possibilities. Choosing a high-quality LBD ensures that it remains a go-to piece in your wardrobe for years to come.
Chic Jumpsuits
Jumpsuits are a stylish and practical alternative to dresses. They provide both comfort and sophistication, making them suitable for various events. A tailored jumpsuit can be worn to formal occasions, while a relaxed fit is ideal for casual outings. Adding accessories such as belts or statement jewelry can elevate a jumpsuit to suit different styles and settings.
Elegant Dresses
Elegant dresses are essential for special occasions, such as weddings, cocktail parties, and galas. From cocktail dresses to floor-length gowns, having a selection of elegant dresses ensures you’re prepared for any formal event. Choose dresses that complement your body shape and personal style, and consider investing in versatile pieces that can be styled in multiple ways.
Cozy Knitwear
As the weather cools, knitwear becomes a key component of your wardrobe. Cozy sweaters, cardigans, and knit dresses provide warmth and comfort while maintaining style. Opt for classic, high-quality knitwear in neutral colors that can be easily paired with other items. Knitwear is perfect for layering and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
Choosing the Right Women’s Clothes for Your Body Type Selecting women’s clothes that flatter your body type enhances your overall appearance and boosts confidence. Here’s how to choose pieces that complement different body shapes:
Hourglass Shape
For an hourglass figure, emphasize your curves with fitted dresses, high-waisted skirts, and tailored blazers. Wrap dresses and belted waistlines work well to highlight your shape and create a balanced silhouette. Opt for pieces that accentuate your natural curves while maintaining a smooth, streamlined look.
Pear Shape
If you have a pear-shaped body, balance your proportions by focusing on upper-body pieces such as embellished tops or structured shoulders. A-line skirts and wide-leg pants can help complement and balance your lower body. Look for clothing that highlights your waist and adds volume to your upper body to create a harmonious silhouette.
Apple Shape
For an apple-shaped body, choose pieces that create a balanced silhouette. Empire-waist dresses and tops with V-necks can help draw attention away from the midsection and enhance your overall shape. Flowy fabrics and tailored pants can provide a flattering fit and add dimension to your look.
Rectangle Shape
To add curves to a rectangular body shape, opt for peplum tops, ruffled dresses, and layered outfits. These styles create the illusion of a more defined waist and add dimension to your figure. Incorporate accessories such as belts and statement jewelry to add shape and interest to your look.
Inverted Triangle Shape
For an inverted triangle shape, soften broad shoulders with V-neck tops and A-line skirts. Wide-leg trousers and tailored blazers can help balance your proportions and create a more cohesive look. Focus on adding volume to your lower body while keeping your upper body streamlined.
How to Accessorize Women’s Clothes Accessories are crucial in enhancing and personalizing women’s clothes. Here’s how to effectively use accessories to complement your outfits:
Statement Jewelry
Bold jewelry pieces, such as chunky necklaces, oversized earrings, and stacked bracelets, can transform a simple outfit into a standout look. Statement jewelry adds personality and flair, making it a great way to elevate your style. Choose pieces that reflect your personal taste and complement your outfit’s color and style.
Scarves and Shawls
Scarves and shawls are versatile accessories that can add color, texture, and warmth to your look. Experiment with different fabrics, patterns, and tying techniques to create various styles. Silk scarves can add a touch of elegance, while chunky knit shawls provide cozy comfort.
Belts
Belts are a practical accessory that can define your waist and add structure to your outfits. Experiment with different widths and styles, from slim belts to wide statement pieces. Belts can be used to cinch dresses, add shape to blazers, or create a polished look with high-waisted trousers.
Handbags
Handbags are both functional and fashionable. From sleek clutches to spacious totes, having a range of handbags ensures you’re prepared for any occasion. Choose bags that match your lifestyle and complement your wardrobe. Investing in a few high-quality pieces can enhance your overall style and provide practical solutions for carrying your essentials.
Footwear
Footwear is a critical element of your outfit, influencing both style and comfort. Invest in a diverse collection of shoes, including classic pumps, casual sneakers, and elegant flats. Choosing the right footwear can elevate your look and ensure you’re prepared for different events and activities.
Caring for Your Women’s Clothes Proper care is essential to maintaining the quality and longevity of your women’s clothes. Follow these tips to ensure your wardrobe remains in top condition:
Read Care Labels
Always check the care labels on your clothes for specific washing and drying instructions. This helps prevent damage and preserves the fabric’s quality. Different materials require different care methods, so adhering to these guidelines is crucial for maintaining your clothes.
Store Properly
Proper storage is key to keeping your clothes in good condition. Hang delicate items on padded hangers and store sweaters flat to prevent stretching. Use garment bags for special pieces and keep your wardrobe organized to easily access and maintain your clothes.
Avoid Overwashing
Frequent washing can wear out fabrics and cause colors to fade. Wash your clothes only when necessary and use gentle detergents to prolong their lifespan. Spot cleaning and airing out garments between washes can help reduce the need for frequent laundering.
Repair and Alter
Don’t discard items with minor issues. Small repairs, such as fixing tears or replacing buttons, can extend the life of your clothes. Tailoring ill-fitting pieces can also improve their appearance and ensure a better fit. Regular maintenance helps you get the most out of your wardrobe.
Organize Your Wardrobe
An organized wardrobe makes it easier to find and maintain your clothes. Regularly declutter and reassess your wardrobe to ensure you’re making the most of your pieces. Keeping your wardrobe tidy and up-to-date helps you make informed choices and maintain a stylish collection.
Conclusion Navigating the world of women’s clothes involves understanding current trends, embracing essential styles, and choosing pieces that suit your body type. Fashion is not just about following trends but about expressing your unique style and confidence. By staying informed and making thoughtful choices, you can create a wardrobe that is both fashionable and functional. Embrace the endless possibilities that fashion offers, and enjoy curating a collection of women’s clothes that reflects your individuality and enhances your personal style.
Whether you’re preparing for a special occasion or updating your everyday look, this guide to women’s clothes provides valuable insights and practical advice to help you make stylish and informed decisions. Fashion is an ever-evolving journey, and with the right knowledge and approach, you can confidently navigate the world of women’s fashion and build a wardrobe that truly represents who you are.

dragonking!bakugo.. fairy!reader...
Tumblr media
as you wake up, hung over his shoulder as if you weighed nothing, the sharp-toothed dragonshifter!kirishima greets you with a smile and a wave in a broken attempt at your language.
apparently they were taking you back to their kingdom, katsuki interested with your origins and eijiro also intrigued by the shine of your skin, but mostly just along for the ride.
the dragonshifter! also had let it slip that dragonking!bakugo had made his 'claim' on you.. whatever that meant.
when you made it, you were greeted by a kingdom full of dragons from eye to eye. everything, except for a handful of buildings, were dragon-sized of course, and full of glimmering, shining accents from roofs to paths.
you felt like prey as the dragonfolk sized you up, but they all seized at the sight of the red mark that now littered your shoulder, standing out against the brightness of your clothes.
you didn't understand what it meant, but the final piece snapped into your mental puzzle as you were carried and sat on dragonking!bakugo's lap, on top of his throne. and as the women around started to accessorize you from head to toe in exquisite, bright ruby jewelery.
but the final nail in your coffin was when they placed the gigantic, elegant crown on your head.
you were his bride.

technically a follow up to this but can be read as a standalone!!

What would the seven wear? - Fashion Style analysis ( HOO Girls Ver.)
as a kid I used to want to be a fashion designer so making this post healed my inner child <3 enjoy ~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HAZEL LEVESQUE - okay okay omgg this girl would have the best fashion sense out of all of them (imo) because she is influenced by SO many fashion aesthetics, like her style would be vintage and modern at the same time! I feel like she would love long flowy dresses because it was the most common clothing women would wear in the 40's, she would love floral patterns sm because they are so cheery and it lightens her mood, this would bring out her "adorable" style more. also. JACKETS. this girl is OBESSED with jackets and cardigans, particularly in the colors brown and black. Overall her style is a mix of cheery, cute but she has that pluto edge to her style aswell with the jackets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PIPER MCLEAN- honestly as much as she would hate to admit it, i feel like Piper would LOVE pink, pale pink takes up the majority of her palette. Her style is very youthful and it's a mix of rebel indie kid and soft coquette core. LOVES LOVES LOVES denim shorts, they are like a must in her wardrobe. Also, She loves jewelry, whether it be tassel earrings, beady bracelets and necklaces, rings etc. like she defo cares more about accessorizing than the actual clothing. she wears baggy white shirts a lot for some reason, but it suits her so well. Crop tops are a must, specifically pink or purple ones with a cute image on it, remember she wore a hello kitty crop top? yeah like that. I feel like her style is the most fresh and childlike without it being over the top, it is so cute. i love her style sm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANNABETH CHASE- Annabeth's style is super elegant tbh, she LOVES wearing grey, orange and white imo, also, i feel like she LOVES light blue/dark blue jeans. Ofc Annabeth loves caps, its like super dear to her, she doesn't have a specific "style" she just loves changing it a lot. Annabeth LOVES long dresses especially if they are white/warm brown. Her style is just super chill and modern. Percy is down bad when she wears baggy shirts tho cuz she slays so hard in them Annabeth loves knitted lace jackets because it gives off very homely vibes. Overall her style is super authentic and fresh tbh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
REYNA AVILA RAMIREZ ARELLANO- i have a feeling that reyna would love dressing up. it brings her comfort, she was the hairdresser in circe's island after all, Reyna is just straight up royal core. she likes wearing corsets, and silk gowns, Her color palette is gold, black, white, violet, and dark maroon tbh. Reyna LOVES large gold earrings that just dangle y'know? it makes her feel and look regal. She also loves circlets that you wear on the head. uggh she has got that roman classiness y'know. Super fancy and enjoys wearing long robes and skirts, i love my fancy shmancy queen <3

A/N: if yall know me well enough, you know what kind of state of mind I'm in 🍃and I just thought I'd write a little quickie since Halloween is next week and I don't think I've ever written anything in regard to Halloween so here we are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(not mine, got it off Pinterest. i could koala cuddle those arms fuuuuck)
It started off as a joke. You'd become influenced by the amount of Ghost face masks you'd seen on TikTok, girls buying their boyfriends the infamous Ghost face mask so that they could put it on and pretend to be the killer from the movie, a few even accessorized with a fake knife and the women always seemed to get off on the idea. It was weird to you, at first, but then you became curious about what he would look like with the mask on. Maybe you'd open up a new kink for yourself, or maybe not but it was worth a try.
So you went to Spirit Halloween and travelled over to the mask section where only two of the Scream masks were hanging. It seemed like you weren't the only inquisitive one. You bought some other things to decorate the porch with and headed back home. You called out to your boyfriend saying you needed a favour. He sprints into the living room where he sees your hands behind your back and that smirk on your face, you were up to no good.
You present him with the mask and he chuckles shaking his head. You tell him that you want to know what he'd look like in it, but you don't want to see him try it on in front of you, you want him to walk into the room like the videos you'd seen. You hand him the mask and trot upstairs and into your shared bedroom where you sit patiently on the bed.
It took a few minutes but you'd finally heard the creaking of the stairs, your heart raced with anticipation and a familiar tingle in your fingers and toes. All over your body really. He emerges from the dark hallway into your dimly lit room and leans against the door frame. Your breath gets caught in your throat, and your thighs squeeze together. He had upped it a bit by removing his shirt and all he had on was a grey wifebeater and sweats to match. His arms were so big and his chest was so large, his broad shoulders adding to the attraction and his scattered tattoos were a bonus.
You blink and before you know it those clothes, accompanied by your own, have been disregarded and scattered all over the floor. And somehow, here you were, face shoved into the mattress and back arched professionally. His enormous hands gripped your waist as he pulled you into his thrusts making you feel every inch, every vein that was prominent on his shaft. You whine, fingers gripping the sheets for dear life as he pounded you, the bed shaking and creaking to match his rhythm.
"Look up, mi amor, this what you wanted right?" He mocked, you raise your head with the little bit of strength you had and looked up at the mirror across from the end of your bed, you bite your lip, the sight was something out of Twitter porn. The mask, his arms, the grip he had on your flesh, the way your ass recoils every time it collides with his pelvis-- Oh it was almost magical. "Fuck! That feels so fucking good." You whimper, your toes curl and you feel another orgasm approaching, only the gods in heaven knew what number this one was. You cried as you felt your hands, with a mind of their own, move from their position as you tried to crawl away from him, it was too much, the sheets were damn near soaked and sticky.
Spooky caught on and pulled you back. "¿Adónde vas, cariño? Hm? Can't take it?"
You gasp as he draws you close to him, his strong arms hooked around your waist, your back pressed against his chest. "Oh, fuck, fuck, fuck!" Was all you could get out before your walls squeezed him, your head in the cloud and your vision completely fucked out. Your head falls back on his shoulder while he continues to slam into you, his own high slowly creeping over him. He takes off the mask and kisses your neck, licking and sucking enough to leave his mark.
"You want me to come for you, bebita?" He grunts hotly in your ear, you moan and nod as an answer. Usually, he would tell you to use your words but considering your current sex-dazed state, he'd leave it alone for today. He buries his dick deep, his throbbing erection painting your walls making them extra sticky. You smile drunkenly when he affectionately nudges the back of your shoulder with his nose. "You always feel so fucking good, baby, I fucking swear." He praises, now kissing your skin. "Te amo." You manage to squeak out.
He chuckles. "Te amo, mamita."
He playfully smacks your ass before easing his way out of you, you fall on to the bed and sigh, completely and utterly satisfied.
Thank god for TikTok trends.
If you liked this fic feel free to like this fic, reblogs and comments are appreciated.
see you in the next one. peace and love 🤙🏾

where do you shop for clothes? I’m plus size so I know the struggle of finding cute clothes when you’re not shaped the way corporations think you should be, and I’m very curious how you approach it
Hello! I mostly thrift my clothing, since I'm poor and plus size - a big thing for me is layering and accessorizing. I love mixing patterns, materials and textures to give a sort of bog witch meets howls moving castle vibe! I especially love thrift stores that mostly older women go to, so I can get a lot of old fashioned jewellery and things.
Plus size-wise I go for a lot of high waist-ed skirts and dresses, I've pretty much completely ditched pants because finding ones that fit me was always a nightmare (plus trying them on always felt so triggering and draining). When I do buy pants I never go for jeans or tight fit ones, but rather ones with draw strings. Overall leggings are far more size inclusive and I can wear fleece ones in the winter!
Overall I go for fairly cheap pieces and arrange them in colour pallets that I adore, and add a lot of fake pearls, scarves, crystals and jewellery!

Photo description: a series of five photos displaying various outfits within my style. I am a little person with curly green hair (also purple in a couple photos), pointy eyebrows, a beard and gold facial jewellery. The first photo is a mirror selfie of me sitting in my wheelchair at a local thrift store. I am wearing a dark green frilly shirt with a dark blue Lolita dress over it, and a duo-chrome pearl necklace. In the second photo I am wearing red high waist pants with vertical stripes, a sheer orange floral shirt with the top buttons undone, with white and red pearl necklaces. The third photo is another mirror selfie in a book shop, I am standing with my rollator and wearing a dark green dress with a long sleeve purple button up under it. I wear a few necklaces and a black and grey striped tie tied into a non traditional bow. The forth photo was taken by a friend of mine while I am smoking CBD on our porch. I am wearing a purple button up, orange vest, green skirt and green jacket covered in buttons and patches. My jewlery included gold sun earrings, pearl necklaces, and a piece of citrine on a chain. I am wearing round glasses and stars drawn where my eyebrows are shaved off. The last photo is a mirror selfie in the men's washroom where I wear a more punk style - a black tank top over a black and white striped shirt, a black beanie, white pearls and black necklaces. Hearts are drawn where my eyebrows are shaved off.

A bit of a change of pace from my typical scifi spec bio, but I’ve been drawing a lot of fantasy art lately and started thinking about my goblins again.
In my D&D homebrew/original high fantasy world, Fulcire, the goblinoids (a family consisting of such species as the goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears) are distinct from the humanoids, having evolved from a different common ancestor. They are the older of the two families, having evolved somewhere between 20,000 and 70,000 years earlier. Goblins were the first of the family to evolve in their modern form, making them the oldest intelligent mortal life on the plane. They alternate between quadrupedal and bipedal stances, are opportunistic omnivores, surviving on a mix of gathering and scavenging, but never actively hunting. Before the modern age of city-building, they kept migratory paths that they traveled across over the span of several years. These days, though, they tend to live more sedentary lives in the isolation of deep wilderness, because where their’s and humanoid’s paths cross, a fight almost always seems to end up breaking out.
More fun facts below:
- As a weird quirk of their evolution, goblinoids are better able to understand large numbers as a concept than humanoids. Where the humanoid mind struggles to imagine numbers into the thousands, tens-of-thousands, and beyond, goblinoids do not. This is theorized to be due to the fact that goblinoids evolved from an animal that had a herd-like social structure, rather than a pack-like one. An individual could need to know hundreds to thousands of other people on a personal level, and those that could work in such large numbers tended to be the most successful members of the herd, eventually selecting towards this particular quirk. As a result, Goblins and goblinoids are fantastic trend-spotters, and have both a fantastic memory and a quick mind for mathematics. It’s no coincidence that their agriculture requires keeping careful track of plant and animal populations across wide tracts of land over many years, and figuring out how to manipulate them season-by-season to the benefit of both themselves, and for the local ecosystem.
- Goblin clothing and fashion is quite unique when compared to humanoid clothing. Goblins do have a taboo against nudity in most cultures, but the structure of their body means that what they must cover differs. All goblinoids are mammalian, though their breast tissue is on their stomach, not their chest. To have an exposed belly, then, is considered appropriate for men, but not women, in Goblin societies (this, of course, can vary depending on societal practices regarding nursing, but that’s a whole different topic). An exposed chest, meanwhile, is commonly considered a sign of bravery in warriors, though more often than not warriors will wear chest-plates in real combat. Everyday styles, such as an exposed chest, are designed to allow for ease of movement in both bipedal and quadrupedal stances. The classic shirt, as humans style it, tend to pull and rub at a Goblin’s shoulders, which are structured more like that of a very flexible cat than a human. A lean towards functionality does not stop Goblins from accessorizing, though, covering clothes in embroidery, beadwork, and decorating with anything that shines or makes a nice jingling sound. Patterns and motifs may stem from Goblin folklore and history, or may be adopted from other species’ cultures. Clothing style is not restricted based on sex in any case other than when it comes to nudity in a particular culture, but it is common for those with magical ability to wear styles that differ from those who do not.
- Goblins have brightly pigmented skin, ranging from green to yellow to red, with the depth of color believed to signal good health. They may very rarely have striped or spotted patterns on their skin, but if not painted-on, this tends to be the result of an individual having some hobgoblin or bugbear ancestry, rather than a naturally occurring pattern. Compared to humanoids, they have an extended hairline, which starts lower on the forehead, extending down the neck and back, and across the shoulders. It often stops at the low-back, but it is not unheard of to have a furred tail. They range between 2.5 to 3.5 feet in height when standing bipedally, though are taller when their ears are taken into account. They are mammalian, and give birth in litters of 1-3 pups per season. Goblins have retractable claws, and their teeth fall out regularly across the seasons, though they only fall out all at once if a Goblin is in truly dire health. Lost teeth are often given as a sign of affection to family, friends, and/or lovers. While Goblins may not be religious, they are often spiritual, and keeping a loved one’s tooth is thought to help keep track of them, in life and in death. In fact, when a particularly beloved Goblin passes, when they are interred below the roots or in the hollow of a tree, they are often buried with great numbers of living Goblin’s teeth, so that they may find and recognize one another again in the world beyond.

“You don’t have to dress half naked to look beautiful”
True beauty shines from within and is reflected in how we carry ourselves. As women, we don’t need to reveal our bodies to feel beautiful or confident. Modesty isn’t about hiding who we are; it’s about honoring our dignity, respecting ourselves, and encouraging others to see us for more than just our physical appearance.
The world often tells us that beauty means showing more skin, but real beauty is about showing character, strength, and self-respect. When we dress modestly, we’re making a statement: “I know my worth, and it isn’t defined by how much I show.”
Modesty Tips for Dressing Beautifully and Confidently
1. Choose Clothes That Flatter Without Overexposing
Look for outfits that fit well without being too tight or revealing. A well-fitted dress or blouse can be just as stunning as a revealing one.
2. Layer Up Stylishly
Use cardigans, jackets, or camisoles to add a touch of elegance to your outfit. Layers can transform a simple look into something classy and sophisticated.
3. Highlight the Right Features
Choose one feature to emphasize, like your eyes with makeup or your waist with a belt, instead of focusing on revealing clothing.
4. Opt for Feminine Fabrics
Soft, flowing fabrics like chiffon or cotton create a graceful and feminine look without clinging to your body.
5. Set Boundaries for Hemlines and Necklines
A good rule of thumb is to wear skirts or dresses that fall at least to your knees and tops that don’t dip too low. You’ll feel more comfortable and confident knowing you’re leaving something to the imagination.
6. Accessorize with Intention
Statement jewelry, a pretty scarf, or a bold handbag can elevate your outfit without needing to rely on revealing clothing for attention.
7. Prioritize Comfort and Confidence
If you feel uncomfortable in what you’re wearing, it will show. Dress in a way that reflects your personality and values, and your confidence will shine through.
By dressing modestly, we focus on expressing who we are inside rather than conforming to fleeting trends. Modesty is empowering because it says, “I am worth more than how much I reveal.” Ladies, let’s redefine beauty with dignity, grace, and class.
Stay radiant, confident, and true to yourself!

Lore Olympus ep. 256 critique
A note from last episode
One thing I forgot to mention in my last episode critique is why would Apollo even be allowed to take the throne? Hera still exists. Zeus has brothers who could step up. Other legitimate children. Obviously, Apollo is the “de facto” ruler for the sole reason that the plot needs to be driven forward somehow, but realistically Apollo would be, like, the last person who’s allowed to step up. Speaking of which, where is Artemis? She knows what Apollo is like. Why doesn’t she step up if they’re letting literally anyone rule?
Tumblr media
Ah, yes, of course. Our fearless protector of women, everyone. I have so many things I could say about Artemis and her portrayal in this comic but for the sake of keeping this post relatively short, let's move on.
The fucking nightie
Oh. My. God. The nightgown.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I literally had to put down my phone when I first saw her in this. The rage I felt and still feel when I look at her.
Persephone is a queen and she just found out her brother-in-law/supreme ruler is in critical condition after being poisoned with a "mystery substance". Jfc have a little decency. And I don't want to hear "Oh WeLl ShE oBvIoUsLy DiDn'T hAvE tImE tO cHaNgE" or "sHe DoEsN't HaVe AcCeSs To ClOtHiNg" because she so obviously did. Hades is wearing a full-ass suit. She had time to cut her hair and "accessorize" with a stupidly oversized hat and cape. She is a QUEEN. She has access to all the clothing she could possibly want. Persephone has no excuse for showing up in a skimpy little nightgown.
I just-
Tumblr media
Persephone is not a good queen
Let’s be real here. Persephone is a terrible queen. What have we, as readers, actually seen her do for the betterment of the underworld.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She doesn't even follow through on her "promise" to help with the influx of the dead. Instead, she focuses on her own personal problem of her powers taking a massive shit because of a deal she made with an unknown being (which was her own choice). I mean, who could've foreseen the consequences of making a shoddy deal with being you've literally had no previous interactions with. Not me, that’s for damn sure /s
Let's see what Persephone has done thus far leading up to and during her reign as queen:
terrorized lower-class citizens
caused the return of Kronos
caused a child deity to be held hostage/abused by Kronos
Tartarus being controlled by Kronos (caused by Persephone)
the mortal realm dying
still hasn't established Elysium
verbally abused recently deceased mortals because they're confused and haven't provided a resounding yes to help with... whatever it was she was trying to do.
lots of sex

Yep, all the actions of a great queen.
Also, side note, when have we ever seen Hecate be nosey? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Hecate has pretty much always looked out for her best interests and tried not to get involved in others' drama. Am I surprised that Rachel is changing a character's personality? No. Am I disappointed? At this point, also no. Let's continue on.
The meeting
The meeting was certainly… something. I will say I loved Apollo getting his shit rocked by Ares. But after that, Apollo says this:
Tumblr media
I mean... he's kinda right? Yes, it was all a big ploy to get specifically Persephone there, but Apollo isn't wrong. Persephone does have a habit of hiding in the underworld and letting Hades deal with her shit instead of facing her problems head-on. Yet another fantastic trait to tack onto her resume as queen.
And on that note, we circle back to the beginning of this post. After Hades has his big-boy temper tantrum, Athena and Amphitrite rightfully point out a few things:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Athena is right, Apollo has no claim to the throne, not when Hera is still around and especially not as a bastard child of Zeus. In terms of a line of succession (especially since all of his children excluding Hebe are grown), Athena would be the best candidate for this temporary position. She's the goddess of wisdom. Who else could fit this role? Poseidon and Amphitrite are busy ruling the oceans, Hades and Persephone are off doing whatever, Ares is all brawn and no brain, and Hephestus wants nothing to do with his family. I mean, we haven't actually had any kind of serious interaction involving him since like halfway through s2 I'm not counting those 2 little portions in s3 with Aphrodite.
And once again, we have a character that is so close to figuring it out but I guess we can't be affording too many brain cells to Amphitrite since she was to share with all the rest of the characters. Also, rip Aphitrite and all her pretty loops and swirls. I miss the individuality the characters had back in s1.
Before the meeting can continue any further, Demeter bursts in deeply distressed and crying out:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
B-bbb-but how can we tell if the mortal realm is actually dying if we don't have a handy little message at the end of the chapter that clarifies whether or not this is a metaphor???? Rachel, you know your audience only has the reading comprehension skills of a kindergartener, how do you expect us to cope??
Sorry lol.
Final thoughts
Surprisingly I found this chapter to be a little short, but I don’t know if that’s just me. Again I wouldn’t say that this chapter is any worse than 255 but it’s not great either, y’all know the drill by this point.
Until my next post! I’m hoping to be all caught up by early next week? And then I can start posting more fun things that aren’t chapter critiques 👀

the whole clothing thing is so unhinged to me. it's clothing, scraps of fabric. the idea that thirteen went around DELIBERATELY genderqueer for years, "i was a different man then," "just the doctor is fine," constantly shutting down people who gendered her femme or who actively perceived her as a woman when she's not a woman, she's the doctor, an alien with two fucking hearts and chock full of regeneration energy, her outfit very obtrusively and overtly genderless, such that as a trans queer person i kept looking at her and being like wow! all the things that would gender her in her clothes are so wonderfully de-emphasized! her chest, hips, the fit and of her clothes, her body language, the way she conceptualizes herself, the way she walks, stands, moves, talks, LOVELY! flawless gorgeous genderqueer representation. then you're gonna tell me at the end of all that that those are women's clothes? those are THE DOCTOR'S clothes. the doctor. who accessorizes with fucking celery need i remind you. and you're gonna tell me david tennant of all people couldn't wear those clothes? the clothes in question being a t-shirt, suspenders, culottes, a coat, and boots? but, and this is the kicker, your villain-coded character could?

Taylor’s game day fashion expands on her signature style with some “Chief” M.O.’s to soften her presence (as much as one can when you are Taylor Swift, main character of the universe). To achieve this, Taylor established go-to style strategies: Vintage (a +1 to sustainable options), women/locally-owned (to lift up small designers w/ her spotlight), + sentimental accessories (to reinforce her game day presence - to support killa!).
For this VW plaid ensemble (a brand I associate w TTPD) I tried to understand her possible intention. I assess Chiefs outfits as a “genre” of fashion separate from the music as these outings aren’t about her art. So!
Since 2009, the NFL has partnered with the American Cancer Society through their “Crucial Catch” program to promote prevention and early detection of cancer. To support the initiative, Crucial Catch merch was designed “in the spirit of the various cancer ribbon colours” to feature a “multi-colored striping pattern” aka … plaid! In weeks 4-6 of the season, each team was assigned their own “Crucial Catch” game to promote the program and have it “come to life visually on the field” (Source: NFL Operations). The Chiefs’ “Catch” day was this day! Players were encouraged to wear gear or clothing that expanded on the plaid design. Fashion is a powerful communication tool and if Taylor, as part of the “Chiefs Kingdom” family, was joining in by donning plaid from a recently favoured designer then kudos for the 2 birds 1 stone!
As for the ‘fit, a matching set is iconic to Taylor’s style vernacular. She popularized it for 1989! I am personally partial to a slimmed-down shoe and given that Taylor changed into a shorter platform post-game, I suspect these boots were not the most comfy. Hair up was also, imo, the right call to let the bustier shape of her top shine.
If you’ve been following along with Taylor’s fashion, you’ll likely recognize a few of these jewelry pieces as repeats (the bracelets and necklace) or as iconic symbols of a fashion house Taylor has worn a lot recently (the Vivienne Westwood ‘Orb’ earrings).
As a fashion refresher, the symbol seen on Taylor’s earrings and bag is the Vivienne Westwood ‘orb’ logo. After much squinting, I think it’s this embellished pair though will of course update if proven otherwise! The logo is iconic to VW house codes. It was designed to be a take on the Sovereign orb of the British Royal Family and a cheeky reference to Vivienne’s self-described title of “queen” of fashion. But I can certainly see the similarities made to UFOs (especially given the repeat use of the MTV VMA boots seen here that Taylor first wore a UFO abduction tapestry dress by Monse) and wanting to be “down bad” for an Egg.
Taylor opted for some new, glittering accessories at today’s Chiefs game - peel and stick glitter freckle patches.
From polling TSSers themselves, I gathered that these freckle stickers were a bit polarizing. While they are not for me personally, I can admit that I can lean into the pomp and the fun and the adrenaline rush that a woo girl must feel when in her natural habitat screaming about something exciting. And how else to accessorize that excitement but sparkles on your face? Context matters!
Now if she were to try and style these with a polished / elegant street style ‘fit, I’d be a bit more brow raised.

🏳️‍⚧️😇👻👗🍫
for tord and matt
🏳️‍⚧️ - Gender headcanon
for tord, he’s amab in my head all the time, either cis or the most controversial yet obvious eddsworld headcanon: ITS A GIRL! Transfem awakening very very late into his life. Goes by he/she/it.
Matt is genderfluid or bigender, he/she preferred but probably is ok with they sometimes.
😇- religion
Tord is god fearing in a way but he doesn’t believe in anything. He certainly has his opinions on destiny or luck or whatever.
Matt thinks he is god. There is no way around this. He loves himself too much to worship something else.
👻- what scares them
Tord is scared of his own emotions. He’s experienced real trauma and his very understandable reactions to it often frighten him into fleeing away from the stimulus of discomfort. He is also scared of sexy women ! >_<
Like everything. Matt is scared of his own shadow. He sees an ant and screams. He watches a horror movie and is up at night for 2 weeks afterwards. His greatest fear is going bald.
👗- Clothes they wear
Tord dresses practically/tactically. He likes a lot of layers so he can have options. He does aim for comfort but it’s mostly so he can stay on top form. He is not fashionable nor does he really accessorize unless its for a purpose (wallet chain or watch)
Matt is the queen of like. Being fashionable but also having terrible taste. The purple hoodie with green overcoat? Hideous. He also is a fan of a variety of clothes, he would die for a nice suit but ALSO for a cute spring dress.
🍫- foods they like
Tord likes things people usually would find less appealing. Edd would give tord his vegetables when they ate together as kids. Tord is a salty food fan i think, bacon being one. Pickled foods are something he also prefers. Olives, onions, etc … and he doesn’t have a sweet tooth. Not at all.
Matt likes to bake and cooke but he’s not a huge eater. I think he sticks to lighter meals, especially after being turned to part vampire. His favorite blood is tom’s, of course. Tord’s is ok. Edd’s is gross.

Everyone’s going to have to deal with my brain rot but here’s some Brady/Ham HC’s <3 likes and reblogs highly appreciated!!!
MOTA Masterlist!
•Hambone grew up with just him and his mom. His father dipped when he was too young to remember. Although he tries to make half assed appearances.
•A true mommas boy!
•He fr has abandonment/rejection issues because of his father…
•He also has an extensive amount of anger issues. Especially when he was kid.
•He would get into fights at the playground…that’s how he ended up with the gold teeth…
•He literally pushed Brady off of the monkey bars at recess on his first day and broke his arm.
•The next day he sat next to Brady at lunch and signed his cast.
•“why are you signing my cast when you’re the one who made me need it?”
• “signing my work, duh”
•Best friends from that day on.
•Hams got fucked up teeth okay? He’s had braces through most of middle school and all of high school.
•When he gets his braces tightened Brady brings him soft food for the couple days of pain.
•He has an orange cat named Garfield
•internalized homophobia…that’s all I gotta say…
•Ham tends to pent up his emotions and just not talk about them.
•His coping technique? Showing up at Brady’s at ungodly hours of the night to have sex with him.
•Now for Brady he grew up in a house of all women. he has two moms and three little sisters. He’s a little girly pop, okay?
•Brady is a rich boy but it’s kinda on the down low. His family lives in the same neighborhood as the Clevens if that tells you anything.
•Brady has OCD and Ham really is the first one to notice that all these symptoms have been growing and piling.
•Ham urges him to tell his moms about it because it got to a point where he couldn’t manage and suppress it anymore.
•After he’s diagnosed it was hard for awhile because he felt so weak about it. He made Hambone promise not to tell anyone about it.
•He’s on a cocktail of SSRI’s and it took five ever to find the right mixture for him.
•Brady’s true passion in life is to become a fashion designer. He always dresses himself well and accessorizes with lots of gold jewelry.
•He makes Hambone model the clothes he makes.
•See, their relationship is highly complicated…Gale is the only one who knows the extent of their mess of a situationship. (Gale and Brady work together at a local grocery store.)
•Ham is lowkey kinda toxic to Brady for a hot moment…his communication skills are shit and he doesn’t know how to manage his emotions.
•There’s one night that curved their relationship I’ll def be writing about later…
•When Ham finally comes to his senses about his feelings he flat out asks Brady out while they’re cuddling together.
•"brady will you be my boyfriend."
•"yeah of course dumbass, aren't i already at this point? idiot.”
•They sealed the deal with a kiss.
•They kept their relationship private for months until Prom rolled around.
•They rolled up to the function in matching cheetah print blazers Brady made them and cool sunglasses.
•When Bubbles comes over to take their picture for the year book. Brady grabs Ham by the lapels of the blazer and smashes his lips into his.
•Bubbles literally goes 😮 behind the camera and pushes the shutter button.
•Bubbles runs to tell Croz.
•Croz goes and tells John.
• John rushes over to Gale and literally out loud goes “Did you know Ham and Brady were dating!?”
•Gale smirks because he already knew.

I like the picrew I just did but can we talk about how the bigger body type is not even plus sized. like I took the base model the picrew gives you when you open it and put them in their underwear so you can see their body clearly:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like that's like a US women's size 2 and a US women's size 10. XXS vs. medium. Incredibly Skinny vs. Real Humans Look Like That Actually.
I just... this artist is talented, and this is an amazing picrew in so many other ways. it has actually diverse skin tones and hair, most importantly. less importantly, there's so many clothing and accessorizing options. it's a very well made picrew, one of the best, dare I say, as a picrew connoisseur. and yet it betrays the fatphobia at the heart of society, where the skinny option is unquestionably underweight, and the "bigger" option is someone who's a bit slimmer than me.
the picrew maker uses the terms "body A" and "body B" rather than referring to the two options as anything else. but when I see someone on tumblr using this picrew, linking it for a game or making characters with it, they near unanimously use and link body A and never body B. this is not the maker's fault, obviously. but it goes to show that even though they almost certainly intentionally avoided words like "skinny" "normal" or "plus sized," we've decided which of these two body types is the normal one, and it's the version that isn't normal in reality.
I don't really like using the word "normal" here, especially when it comes to people's literal bodies. referring to body B as "normal" betrays fatphobia. I mean, the idea of deciding a certain body type is normal and another isn't is fatphobia. and body B is still relatively skinny! I think a better word here is "common." which of these two body types is more common in reality? body B. those are much more common proportions to have. and yet people make themselves with A, link A in their picrew chains, and make characters with A. even though, statistically, most of us do not look like that.

Aro Ring Guide for closeted folk
How to justify your specific ring choices without coming out
If you still live with your parents and can not buy an aro ring without them knowing, they might ask you why exactly it has to be a white ring on the left middle finger. Also works for friends and acquaintances that you cannot or do not want to come out to.
This is what I did when I bought my aro ring and my parents started asking questions.
Just because it worked for me doesn't mean there's a guarantee it'll work for you as well. You know your situation better than me. Be safe!
Why a ring?
This will probably be easier if you're a girl (or your parents think you are), as it is more socially acceptable for women to accessorize than it is for men. However, throughout history it was common for powerful men to wear rings as a symbolism for power and wealth. It also can be a great way for self-expression.
Why the left hand?
If you're right-handed: The left hand is your non-dominant hand. You could say it makes you uncomfortable to wear a ring on your dominant hand because it can be hindering in day to day tasks such as holding a pen.
If you're left-handed: You can say that you like wearing a ring on your dominant hand better because it is more visible. You use your dominant hand more often and therefore more people will notice your ring. Alternatively, if you're wearing a watch (which is typically worn on the non dominant side), you can say you want a more balanced out look so you wear the ring on the opposite hand. This is what many style guides literally recommend when it comes to wearing rings.
Why white?
If you have light skin: You can say that you prefer a ring color that doesn't clash so much with your skin. You want a ring but you like to keep it more subtle. Admittedly, this works better if you're not wearing any other rings. If they ask you why you didn't choose a colorful ring, you can say that you want to be able to wear it with any outfit and don't want to worry about the colors of your clothes clashing with the color of the ring.
If you have dark skin: You can say you want a ring that stands out to your skin. Because if you buy a ring and wear it, you want people to notice. And white is more obvious on your skin than black or a dark metal. If they ask you why you didn't choose a colorful ring, you can say that you want to be able to wear it with any outfit and don't want to worry about the colors of your clothes clashing with the color of the ring.
And if you're somewhere in between, you can always say that you want some contrast to your skin but not too much.
Why the middle finger?
According to some websites I found (x/x/x/x), a ring on the middle finger doesn't really have an assigned meaning. Rings on the middle finger are mostly a fashion statement, apparently. Although a ring on the middle finger might symbolize power, balance and stability. But all in all, nothing that'll make your parents suspicious. I do not know how reliable those sources actually are but they are the first things to come up when you search for the meaning of rings on the middle finger online.
However, googling "white ring left middle finger" leads to aro rings! If you think your parents might google that, be careful!
Other search engines might not give you aro ring results in the top results. (For example, Ecosia does not.)
I hope this helps some of y'all!

i was scrolling through your terror tag again and as someone who struggles with drawing clothes, particularly formal wear, i just have to commend you on how effortlessly you seem to be able to draw waistcoats and shirtsleeves and the like! not to mention beloved nedward’s security blanket of a sweater. in your learned opinion, do catboys and dogboys have any distinctive ways of dress or accessorizing their unique features? iirc fitzjames put bows on his dogboys but i’m just picturing like. welsh caps with little holes for kitty ears for example :))
aww thank you my understanding of waistcoats and puffy sleeves comes from drawing 100s of images of izzy hands for the past 2 years, i honestly still struggle to draw most other clothing and drapery pains me on a psychic level, if i ever get blorbopilled over someone who wears long flowing dresses it might be the end of me
answering your qs below cut bc it got super long bc i think about clothes too much:
ok you're entering a territory of thinking that has legit kept me up at night bc like if you put a regular welsh wig on them then their ears will move and shift the wig and if you have holes in the wig for their ears then their ears will get cold thus defeating the purpose of the wig so the best solution i can think of is that they either wear a bonnet-like contraption that ties at the chin or they wear a loose balacava situation like what billy wears during hickeys hanging. the bonnet would surely be deeply uncomfortable and make hearing difficult so i imagine its not a popular choice, by that logic they must not enjoy wearing hats generally speaking which is interesting when you consider the importance of hats in victorian culture and how going out without one means you're not properly dressed, not sure this is the answer you expected but these are my convoluted thoughts
in terms of other clothing quirks the main thing is the presence of tail holes in trousers. these are adjustable using either ribbons or buttons which close over the top of the tail after the wearer has put their trousers on. these trousers are pricer than human trousers so often cat/dogboys make due by just ripping and restitching the seam of human trousers or, if they have short tails, they can tuck their tails into the human trousers. jopson has been altering his own trousers to include tail holes ever since he was adopted by crozier and now he alters the trousers of all the other catboys too since its cheaper. when fitzjames adopted tozer one of the first things he did was get tozer measured so he could have custom tailored trousers with a reinforced band to accommodate his powerful tail wagging. tozer, who has spent most of his life in generic navy-issued uniforms, found the sensation of wearing clothing that actually fit him and his extremely fluffy tail to be very very bizarre.
speaking of fitzjames, i had him put bows on dundy and tozer because i think jfj would love to be a pet influencer. if instagram existed you knooooow he would be dressing up dundy and tozer in silly outfits on the regular and posting daily for internet clout. anyway, the bows thing in dundys case is actually practical because it helps keep his long ears out of the way and makes him look more "dressed", kinda like how victorian women would tie their hair up when in polite company. a lot of dogboys with long ears do this. dundy usually ties it himself but when he was young jfj would help him. jfj will sometimes tell him to wear a specific ribbon for outfit coordination reasons, but usually dundy just wears a standard white / navy one to match his uniform. when theyre hauling south he loses those ribbons and is forced to tie his ears back with twine and scraps of fabric or forego tying them entirely.
