For your gem au, i wonder when Luffy wanted to understand each new crew member he’d fuse with them after meeting and from then on he can get to understand all his crew members a lot better and whenever fusing with them they have better growth and synchronization with each person. Just a thought but what do you think?

Oh, hm.. thats a great question! I see where youre coming from, but i think i will have to disagree with you.

In the one piece universe, i dont know how to explain it other than this but, he doesnt go out of his way to understand his crew mates. Like, he doesnt ask about their lives or their motivations; just like he doesnt really talk about himself at all. So i dont think that fusing to understand his crew would be something thats important for him to do.

In SU, fusion is something that is used through absolute necessity. So i think that that would be the case for the straw hats, too.

Alternatively, i think that because ASL only have themselves, as opposed to a crew of people with lots of different abilities and strengths, they would utilize fusion in many more situations than the straw hats would. They would use fusion for more trivial things, like comforting eachother, or trying to get somewhere faster.

Plus i think they would live in a place that didn’t see fusion between two different gems as “wrong”. So the three would be comfortable with eachother and with the idea of fusion, which is something that most other places in the galaxy for gems dont have due to social norms.

So that’s what me thinks ab it, thanks for the question and the ask!

Acechiji A Whisker Away au

Prompt given by @loopyarts while talking about Ichiji + cats combo in the server, so ofc I had to run with the idea.

FIRST. BACKSTORIES.

Ace:

Roger was a bit of an absent father due to work, Rogue was the main caretaker, but she died when Ace was like 5, then he ended up in Dadan's care, with Sabo and Luffy.

Sabo was taken in by Roger because of the neglect he suffered from his bio parents, but since he was basically send to Dadan immediately Ace didn't hold anything against him.

Finally, when Ace is like, 14-16, Roger retires and returns home, with Raleigh. Since he's the legal guardian of both Ace and Sabo he takes both home, Luffy stays with Dadan, tho they're still pretty much neighbors so they see each other daily (and at school).

Ace is not happy.

Vinsmokes:

Sora and Judge divorced when the boys were like 4-5, but since Sora died when they were 8, they went back to being under Judge's care, as Zeff could not claim guardianship of the kids.

Sanji kept running away to stay with Zeff as much as possible, Judge just gave up on him, although he still scolds him from time to time, like Sanji, Reiju is mostly left ignored, as is Yonji, who learnt to keep as much to himself.

Generally speaking, they have a lot of leeway as long as they help Judge maintain his image and obey, good scores, athletic and artistic, keep the image of prodigy; and Judge also has his hands tied due to the records Sora left of abuse, having sued him previously, and winning the case, he only has the kids now cuz he's their only family left, Zeff (and everyone from the Baratie, basically) is keeping and eye on him tho.

Niji and Sanji are the ones who fight the most with Judge, Yonji and Reiju tend to keep to themselves, and Ichiji, well, he's his golden child, so extra pressure on him.

The one time he ever disobeyed his father (and was caught) was when he took Nyasha in, he convinced his siblings to help him keep the cat in secret (he had done so on his own at first) but Judge ended up finding out sooner than later, he destroyed everything Ichiji had bought the cat (along with some other Stuff that Ichiji held dear) and ended up hitting Ichiji when he jumped in to protect Nyasha from receiving Judge's violence. Reiju had to hold Niji back from jumping Judge, Sanji ran to get Zeff and Yonji went to check on Ichiji. Judge left with the threat and order "either you get rid of that thing or I'll do it myself" so they took Nyasha to Zeff, who had to be held down from going to the police ("you won't get custody, so we'll be sent to the system and separated, I rather we stay together, we just need to hang on for a little longer")

Reiju wants to take custody of her siblings once she turns 18, it will be hard but she'll be damned if she doesn't try, and well, Zeff and the Baratie staff will help and support her.

All this happens before Acechiji (ASL+1234 ) finally meet (at school).

ASL & 124 meet officially thanks to Sanji getting adopted into Luffy's friend group (Reiju knew of Ace and Sabo but hadn't really interacted with them).

Ace caught Ichiji's attention before meeting though.

It doesn't take too long Acechiji to start their, lest call it courting, but it goes a snails pace because Ichiji's fears regarding Judge, which leads to a lot of mixed signals and confusion, until they finally have their little fight in the festival and Ace walks off and ends up getting the mask.

The fight being: Ichiji responds positively to his advances, not always tho, he's kind of sending mixed signals.

So they're out with their friends in the festival and, as usual, Ichiji responds positively to Ace's flirtations, to the point where Ace finally had the courage and, while they're alone on the back, ignored by the people surrounding them, Ace gives him a very brief peck on the cheek, but Ichiji responds the most negatively he has ever reacted. Suddenly very anxious (Judge may not be homophobic but he is very classist and controlling .Ichiji is worried that if Judge found out the man would just straight up send him to an abroad school or something, and Ichiji likes his life there, his siblings, Zeff and the Baratie, his friends, and well, Ace.), he covers his cheek and looks around, he scolds Ace for what he did, both blushing in embarrassment and anger.

Ace thinks that Ichiji is ashamed of him or sth, brings up the mixed signals, but Ichiji closes himself off, so Ace ends up walking off on his own, the most angry he has ever been at Ichiji, and a little heartbroken too.

That's when he meets the salesman, and puts on the mask.

Ichiji finds him because, after cooling down, he thought about everything and went to look for Ace, to maybe try and talk things out, maybe tell Ace the truth about everything, instead he finds a black kitten.

Like in the movie, Ace keeps turning into a cat to finally see all that Ichiji is hiding from him, specially since things have become awkward with Ichiji (there's some self sabotage going on on Ichiji's side and well, Ace can't simply reveal whatever little he has learnt).

Also, we will only see the mask seller twice or thrice, when he gives the mask to Ace with the time limit warning, later when he reminds him of the deal and having suggested telling Ichiji the truth and ends up taking Ace's human face as a mask, and when the time limit comes.

Nyasha takes Ace's place, he's mad at Ace and has an argument with him when Ace goes after him to get his face back ("I'll make sure to make him happy! And if I have to become you to do so, then I will! I will succeed where you failed him!") but seeing Ichiji's (and honestly all of the siblings and Baratie's) sadness and desperation at Nyasha's disappearance shows him how loved and needed he is.

The turning point of the story comes with Ace's arrival to the Vinsmoke household, seeing how they live helps Ace understand the cause of Ichiji's reluctance and mixed signals to their relationship, as well as help him grow an appreciation to his own guardians (his dad and Raleigh, after all, they do try, you know?), however is around here when the mask seller reappears and takes his face, since Ace had the brief idea that he would only be able to be with and make Ichiji happy as Spade (until the full truth of it all finally comes out and he also grows that appreciation towards his dad and his dad's boyfriend).

With the arrival of the festival, he grows desperate and goes to the other place in search of the mask seller.

Nyasha also tells Ichiji the truth and with all the changes and everything, Ichiji hardens his resolve to fight for his relationship with Ace, so he insists on going to save him. Nyasha, ofc, agrees.

They finally catch up to each other and find the mask seller to settle everything, it seems like the mask seller will let them do as they please, but he takes Ace's mask and it disappears ("But you said you needed to be 'Spade' to make him happy, didn't you? I would never let you regret turning back into a human and losing everything you have with him, leaving him on his own in that awful, awful house") the mask is hidden somewhere in the tree of life and they need to find it, there are no hints to where it could be though.

They barely managed to find it on time, but Ace is still a bit hesitant, the mask seller and Nyasha's previous words did get to him, but Ichiji finally pours his heart out to him.

They finally return together with Nyasha and everyone celebrates together, both Nyasha's reappearance and Acechiji getting together (they will help them keep their relationship secret for as long as possible).

Niji is the least happy with their union, but that's just how he is with his siblings, the mother hen.

Finally, the moment Reiju turns 18, she moves out to a place nearby that Zeff helped her get, and she both studies and works part time at the Baratie, and proceedings begin. Having saved a lot of money (and with Zeff's support, again) she gets custody of her brothers and puts a restraining order on Judge, forcing him to move to another city.

Ace also starts bonding with his dads, specially because they found out about his relationship with Ichiji and not only helped keep it secret, but also helped Reiju settle and win the court cases. They become another safe heaven for the Vinsmoke siblings.

And everyone lived happily ever after.

The end.

Plus a little scene.

He wiggled, because he needed to. It was hot under the sweater and his face was smushed against Ichiji's chest; his hearing revealed the fast beating of the redhead's heart. So he either combusted or wiggled.

"Shh, keep still"

Ace was, once again, squished against Ichiji's body. Being hidden under Ichiji's sweater as he was, his vision was very limited, but, based on what he could make out with his hearing, they had entered a house.

"What were you doing out so late?" He heard Reiju ask.

"Homework"

"Get off his ass Reiju" he heard Yonji farther away "dad's not home tonight anyway, let the guy be"

Reiju sighed.

"And Sanji?"

"He's staying at Zeff's again" answered Niji "He should just stay there forever at this point"

"Don't say that" scolded Reiju.

"Why not?" Yonji again "He's happy there, if it were me I would take the opportunity to never return, would dad even care?"

"I don't think he would even notice" followed Niji. Someone snorted.

"So dad's not coming back tonight?"

Reiju answered "there was an accident in the lab with one of Caesar's projects so he's staying the night there to try and solve it, I doubt he'll be back tomorrow"

The sweater's zipper was pulled down to reveal a brightly lit and spacious living room. Yonji and Niji sat together on the longest sofa, notebooks open on the low table in front of them. Reiju stood behind with a mug in her hands. They all turned to Ichiji, who, firmly yet gently, held Ace in his arms.

"Oh, Ichiji, no" Reiju frowned with pity "you know dad won't allow it"

"Just for tonight"

"That's what you said last time" complained Niji, his frown mirroring Reiju's.

However, Yonji stood up, face bright, and walked to his older brother. Ace slapped the approaching hand.

Yonji cooed "So cute"

Ace purred at the feeling of Ichiji scratching the back of his ear, he looked up and found a very small smile on the redhead's face, softening his expression.

"He is, he's also very friendly"

Yonji nodded and tried to join in the scratching, but Ace caught the limb in his maw. Yonji laughed.

"Do you want to play?"

Niji groaned "Oh, come on, Yonji, don't add fuel, you know the cat can't stay"

"Maybe Zeff can take him in, at least, I want to make sure he finds a nice home"

"Zeff only took Nyasha in because we had no time to find another person to take him in and it was either that or dad would get rid of him on his own" said Reiju, leaving her mug on the low table.

"And because you literally cried and begged him for hours" added Niji.

"Sanji was the one crying" Ichiji defended himself.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night. The point is, Zeff won't take in another one of your cats, not even if you, Yonji, me, Reiju or even Sanji cry and beg, that old geezer's number one priority is his restaurant"

"And Sanji" Yonji jumped in.

"Don't interrupt me, moron. So I suggest you put that back where you found it"

Ichiji clicked his tongue "mind your own business, number two"

"O-Hey-"

Ichiji walked past everyone, ignoring their calls, and took Ace to his room.

this stanley changed his name to spencer after getting rescued from his parable, because he couldnt stand the sound of his own name anymore! also upon joining the Stanley Brigade it just became easier than finding another way to twist the name stanley into something recognizable but different

hes in his early to mid forties and is selectively mute. he talks sometimes, but not super often, getting by with simple charades and simpler asl, one-word responses and facial expressions alone. after getting out, he ends up becoming a bartender and local sad, quiet but nevertheless dorky uncle to the other stans (who almost all seem to skew younger)

his narrator never really saw him as an equal, was the thing. he wasnt as abusive and awful as others that The Narrator rescued stanleys from, but he was more... apathetic. focused on the story, the drama needed. may pointed me towards the story In Which the Narrator Has a Plan From the Start by WubadubadubIsThatTrue and its shockingly similar to what i was thinking. less vitriolic, less active hate, but the same flavor of him doing whatever it takes to write a good story. stanley isnt a person, after all; hes only a character.

he could have loved his narrator. he wanted to, but the fellow could have never loved him back.

so when The Narrator arrived and told stanley he could free him, he hesitated. he wanted to stay, and he almost did, to get through to his narrator, but he realized... that would never happen

so he did what hurt, and chose his own happiness

Steven Universe AU part 3/?

Not only do I feel like my blog needs some joy in it, but I need it for my sanity. 

So here's a jumble of my random thoughts I've had these past few months that I haven't been able to share since I've been busy. Also, I'll throw in some fic ideas cause why not. 

One fic I've had that I'm still trying to flesh out a bit. Sam lives in a fishing town, and he's a diver. He spends a lot of time in the water even outside of his job. 

On one of his days off, he finds himself face to face with a mermaid. But days before this he kept seeing these blue eyes everywhere and when he finally faced them, they were more  captivating than he ever could have imagined. 

He doesn't tell anyone, and instead, the next day, looks for the mermaid again. Away from the docks. And it meets up with him again, but this time, they talk. 

Sam finds himself in a routine, no matter what, every day he meets up with this mermaid, Castiel. 

The thing is it's getting harder and harder to walk away when he sees Castiel's disappointment when Sam leaves. 

When Sam does eventually miss one day, due to things out of his control, the next day, Castiel doesn't show up. Sam waits there until nightfall, still no appearance. 

The next day, even with doubt, Sam visits, and he finds Castiel and someone casting a spell. A spell on Castiel who's screaming in pain as he transforms into a human. 

There's a lot more to this AU, but I don't want to give away the whole story, it's one of my favorite AUs to work on even though I don't have anything published for it yet.

Another fic I've been meaning to work on is my soulmate's AU. I have a cool idea of when Sam and Castiel meet, Castiel being fully powered, still connected to Heaven, and Sam, still being in tune with his powers, there's even more of a magnetic pull between them. And it hurts to touch, but in a way that is hard to let go of. That mixed in with the fact that both of them can now see every color they missed before, the feelings must be intense in that scene.

Just in general though for Sastiel, the idea that the two have trouble identifying reality, and end up becoming each other's grounding anchors is a neat idea. Especially as they spend more and more time together, they know each other so well, it's easier to separate their minds from messing with them and what's reality. 

I've written about this for Sam, and Castiel helping, but I haven't had Sam be that anchor for Castiel yet.

A step away from romance, my headcanon that Dean loses his hearing from Castiel using their true voice, I've added onto it. I think the idea that both Sam and Dean learn ASL because it's necessary, and it gives them an advantage when they can't say anything, but can sign something. 

So when they eventually meet Eileen, it's funny to think that Sam gets so flustered he just messes up ASL despite using it all the time with Dean, but also, Dean and Eileen communicating in ASL is everything I need. 

Especially because they'd be able to bond over losing their hearing from something supernatural, and adapting from it. That's something that I eventually want to write someday.

Oh, another AU is where Kevin doesn't die. And instead, ends up being a brother figure for Jack because Kevin knows for a fact that the Winchesters and Castiel know nothing about raising a child. And so someone has to make sure this poor child isn't completely screwed and traumatized. (He is well aware that he is also screwed up and traumatized but it's no mystery why he is, stares pointedly at the Winchesters.)

Oh, a very old idea I've had is Jack, Magda, and Elijah finding a stray animal, and promptly sneaking it into the bunker. That one is such a fun prompt, I just haven't been able to do it justice.

Returning back to some romance, I have to spread the saileenstiel propaganda of course. I do think it very much starts off as a, we both like Sam, and Sam likes us both. But when they can see Sam has plenty of love for the both of them, they are able to see that they like each other as well. 

Oh, I'd also love to write something with them having a day out with Elijah, Madga, and Jack. Maybe at the beach or a nature hike. That would be fun to write.

I was also brainrotting a lot for Dean and Cassie, and what if Dean did go back to see her. Or what if he didn't go to Lisa but to Cassie. Which I'm unsure if I've talked about before. Either way, I'm talking about it again. I still very much want to write a fic about their first date or the first time they just lounged around doing nothing but it felt like everything.

Also, I really need to finish my Debriel fic, it's written but not written. The dialogue is there, as well as rough, very very rough, actions, it just needs to be edited. And some motivation to return to it.

I would love to do more crossover fics, especially like Marvel and Supernatural. I have a few started, I just never finish them. Apart from the one with Jack and Peter which was based on a textpost.

Switching to Marvel, Interwebs, I want to write about them again. One of my fics made me miss them which was rude because it's unfair that my writing can make me miss my writing. 

I want more cuddles and dates and just overly sweet fluffy fics for them. And maybe some more bittersweet ones as well. I don't know why but I like the bittersweet idea for them.

I've been meaning to write a winterfalcon fic for ages, even just based on a text post or something, I just tend to forget I can write about them. 

Same thing for thunder science (Bruce and Thor), any ideas I have for them I forget I'm a writer.

Kind of want a fic of Valkyrie too, no idea what though, I just think she'd be fun to write about.

I had some minecraft ideas too, like for Hermitcraft, but once again I feel as if I can only write for Supernatural and sometimes Marvel for some reason. 

I have an idea that I do return back to go quite frequently, where it's Phil, Kristin, Technoblade, Wilbur, and Tommy going to visit Phil's brother, Grian. In Hermitcraft season seven. That idea I've chipped away at for a while. I have a good intro but haven't worked out a good plot. So it hasn't gone anywhere.

I've also had some fics for Wilbur's characters but they're all pretty depressing/dark so they usually get put on the backburners.

Stranger Things is interesting to write for, I haven't tried anything complicated yet, just different dynamics and characters, but they're really fun to explore. I really enjoyed writing Lumax, I owe them a happier fic.

I think that's all my thoughts for now. I mostly just talked about my fic ideas and what I want to write eventually. I just have so many ideas and not enough time to write them all. oh my god im really gonna update my gem au for the first time in years all because i just got some asks about it klsdjfskldjal IM A LITTLE EMBARRASSED TO POST THESE BECAUSE THEYRE SO OLD but i realized these backstory drawings for asl never saw the light of day lol and i guess i never really went into depth with my hcs for these gem’s “purpose” or whatever haha so theres that under cut that i surprisingly remember pretty well

for the sake of this gem au op-verse, gem colonies and humans kinda coexist with eachother as a sort of compromise for the aliens to occupy the world but they still have their own separate societies that a gem breaking away from would be significant (i.e sabo). anyway moving on.

sabo/labradorite were meant to go alongside sapphires’ to assist in their future vision since earth (or whatever the op planet is called) is very unpredictable. sapphires can see the all the possible events and timelines in detail but cannot dictate what is most likely to happen or what would be the more favorable decision to lead to a more favorable outcome. labradorites fill in this gap by having all of their powers focus solely on instinct/intuition. they cannot see the future or know why they are making their decisions but they and the power of a sapphire guarantees that they can make an intuitive but informed decision.

tl;dr in really simplified metaphorical terms: sapphires are the map that shows every possible branching path while labradorites are the compass telling you which way you should go.

similarly to su and op canon, both gems are high ranking in the social hierarchy with labradorites and sapphires often walking around with their arms linked like theyre one single unit. one thing leads to another and sabo grows to detest his noble standing and becomes unable to do his job properly (since the future feeling is based on intuition of whats “good” or “bad” for the gem, sabo’s prediction often wanted them to be pointed in the other noble’s gems demise).

fearing retaliation and no longer wanting to take part in this kind of society, sabo leaves and meets ace. its basically like op canon from here.

ace/fire agate is kinda similar to the whole rose quartz situation in su canon. roger was a gem that caused a massive uprising that caused every other fire agate to be bubbled..........and eventually shattered. ace survived because, as a favor, rouge was a human that basically harbored these gems as fugitives. in desperate measures, the others she was protecting were shattered and she poofed one last gem to save and pass hands to garp. blah blah blah its like op canon from here on.

fire agates are kinda similar to holly blue in su where they are both meant to be leaders that kept other gems in line by being stern and mean. ace’s initial attitude is similar to this until he mellows out beyond his preprogramming of his gem.

luffy...........is special. he is an accident formed from a kindergarten that split due to an earthquake. the leftover drippings from spinel, rubies, and a hint of jasper miraculously re-implanted itself into the ground in a way that could actually incubate a gem, making luffy. red coral, like its real life counterpart, is technically not a gemstone. its..................coral. whatever luffy is technically doesn’t exist so he was dubbed “red coral” since his hole was more lower down on the cliffside of the kindergarten in a sea cave and the leftover goop ended up becoming coral like crystal fixtures.

sabo and ace find luffy after sabo gets a super strong future feeling to go to the kindergarten.

btw, names in this au for the gems are a thing because gems who have defected from gem society often take on human qualities as an act of rebellion! so they often give themselves names or reform with scars as a type of decorative marking in ways as if they were human.

Sabo’s the high warlock of New Orleans too, & has a penthouse on the river front that Luffy & Ace stay at frequently

Deuce is also a shadowhunter

He’s had to walk in on the ASL trio fucking more times than he cares to admit

But you think Roger’s a shadowhunter? You’re wrong. Roger is literally Kéet. He’s a big orca demon

Rouge is a shadowhunter who definitely tapped that orca demon

Language Journal 5.8.20

Trying to be a little more proactive in learning and retaining languages.��

English - native French - 4 years high school, 2 years college  Italian - 5 week course  ASL - 24 hour online course (but I won’t be doing ASL in these entries. Maybe I’ll do video entries sometime.)

Every once in a while (ambitious) I’ll post the same entry, translated to different languages. Seeing what I know and don’t know (a lot), and hopefully learning new things along the way. Going to do as little Googling as possible.

I’ve been ordering takeout from local restaurants to support my community. I placed an order for pick up tomorrow morning, for a rose latte, hokkaido milk bun, and breakfast burrito. 

Work was slow so I watched a lot of language YouTube videos. Mostly Italian and ASL. 

For ASL I learned some good vocabulary for how to interact with a Deaf customer in a cafe. 

I’m going to eat dinner and watch some celebrities play games for charity. Then go on a walk and try to reach 5,000 steps before sundown.

Pour quelques semaines, j’achetais des repas à emporter des restaurants locaux, pour soutenir ma communauté. J’ai commandé un latte rose, un petit pain du lait, et un burrito au petit déjeuner. 

Le travail était calme, alors je regardais beaucoup de vidéos de language sur YouTube. Plutôt l’italien et la langue des signes américaine (ASL). 

Pour ASL, j’ai appris des mots utiles pour converser avec des clients sourds quand dans un café. 

Je vais manger le dîner et regarder quelques vedettes jouer des jeux pour la charité. Puis, je vais marcher pour essayer d’achever cinq milles pats avant le coucher du soleil.

Per molte settimane, ho comprato i pasti dai ristoranti qui vicino, per supportare la mia communità. Ho comprato un caffè con latte, un panino con latte, e un burrito per la colazione. 

Il lavoro era calmo, poi ho guardato video su YouTube. Più per le lingue, l’italiano e linguaggio dei segni americano (ASL). 

Per ASL, ho imparato le parole utili per parlare con i clienti sordi quando in un caffè.

Mangerò la cena e guardare le celebrità giocare per la carità. Poi, camminerò per provare raggiungere cinquemila passi prima del tramanto.

Pauvre Syrie - ( I )  : un si beau pays dévasté par la bêtise des  hommes

…L'actualité est vraiment préoccupante… Et ce qui se passe aux portes de l'Europe l'est plus que tout. Depuis que Donald Trump a commis la faute énorme de “lâcher la bride” sur le cou du fou-furieux fanatique et recuit de haine qu'est Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, tout est devenu possible… y compris l'impossible ! La soldatesque turque ayant laissé des souvenirs insoutenables partout où elle a pu le faire (cf. les tristement célèbres “janissaires”), les horreurs qui étaient attribuées à Bachar el-Assad (la plupart du temps sans le moindre début de preuve, et pour cause : ils étaient le plus souvent le fait de ses adversaires !) vont ressembler à des  bluettes pour enfants… A-t-il existé des guerres propres ? Celle-ci n'en fera pas partie ! 

    Depuis fin 2013, c'est la sixième fois que nos réflexions nous ramènent en Syrie, ce pays autrefois si beau, si riche de toutes les civilisations qui se sont suivi, et ont combattu, aimé ou détesté sur ce sol où elles ont vécu parfois en harmonie, souvent en opposition, mais sans atteindre jamais la haine et l'horreur actuelles…       Je regarde avec effroi les scènes atroces en provenance de Syrie, depuis des années… mais aussi depuis quelques jours. Elles sont souvent impensables insupportables, et indignes de notre siècle… et de cette partie du monde, si proche de nous, si entremêlée avec l'histoire de l'humanité, si riche en souvenirs pour tous les hommes, quelles que soient leur foi et leurs références philosophiques…

  Si vous saviez combien j'ai aimé ce pays… alors que je ne sais même pas s'il y reste quoi que ce soit qui puisse être aimé ! Chaque bombe lancée là-bas détruit un trésor de l'humanité (il y en a bien plus que ceux du catalogue de l'Unesco). Chaque avancée des blindés turcs, chaque bombardement de villages incapables de la plus petite résistance, chaque “peshmerga” qui tombe, et chaque jour qui passe rendent éternelles des haines que rien sans doute ne pourra jamais guérir.      Car qui peut douter que tous les kurdes, où qu'ils soient, vont avoir autre chose en tête que d'inculquer à leurs enfants la haine la plus inexpiable pour tout ce qui est turc… On est bel et bien partis pour une vengeance qui va “mijoter” pendant un siècle (ou deux s'il le faut), attendant la première occasion de rendre la pareille.   (NDLR : j'ai encore en mémoire ce que représentaient “l'Alsace et la Lorraine” pour la génération de mon père, né en 1891, 20 après leur annexion par l'Allemagne…).

  La Syrie a toujours été un carrefour. Quinze mille ans avant notre ère, c'est ici que sont nés l'irrigation et la culture des céréales, la métallurgie, les toutes premières villes (Byblos, Alep), les premiers écrits (les graphèmes d'Ougarit) et les premiers “alphabets” (les “abjad” proto-sinaïtiques)…  Ici sont passés les hébreux libérés par Cyrus,  Ramsès II, les Hittites et les peuples de la mer, les civilisateurs grecs, les légions romaines, les premiers chrétiens et les byzantins, précédant de sept siècles les guerriers d'Allah, puis les croisades, les mamelouks, les ottomans, avant les anglais, les français et la ligne “Sykes-Picot”…  J’ai toujours été profondément ému devant  les strates de l'histoire qui s'étalaient devant mes yeux à chacune de mes nombreuses visites dans ce raccourci tellement parlant de l'Histoire de l'Humanité.

  Depuis une dizaine d'années, on nous faisait croire que seules comptaient la fin de cette guerre et la défaite de l'état islamique… tout comme on avait raconté aux hommes, depuis 14-18 et 39-45 (et même bien avant. Disons, depuis Caïn et Abel !), que ‘’faire la guerre��’ revenait un peu à ‘’jouer au paint-ball’’ ! Nous avions tort de croire nos guides in-��clairés, ces stratèges pour une ‘’guerre des boutons” qui dirigent encore (mais si mal !) les divers pays présents dans cette partie du monde (dont nous, contre toute attente !) croient encore naïvement qu'il y aurait les bons (= eux ! Bien sûr !) d’un côté et, de l’autre côté, tous les ‘’mauvais’’ : el-Assad (avant-hier), Poutine (hier) ou les Kurdes, aujourd'hui juste bons à liquider, pour Erdogan !

  Premier diagnostic sur l'immense crise syrienne : comment voulez-vous que de nos cuistres aussi diplômés qu'incultes, avec leurs pauvres idées simplistes et partisanes, puissent voir, comprendre et intégrer une telle complexité ? Il ne suffit pas de décliner les mots démocrate, autocrate ou dictature dans tous les sens mais sans aucun sens : il faut vouloir, savoir (et pouvoir, surtout) s'adapter au réel.

   Deuxième facteur primordial : la Syrie moderne, créée dans les années 1850, est un des rares pays où l'islam n'a pas réussi à s'unifier autour d'un seul de ses grands courants, les maḏhâhib al ijtihad que sont le chi'isme et le sunnisme et qui se trouvent là en compétition entre eux et avec les courants Druze et Alaouite, et ces luttes fratricides sont aussi violentes que le furent nos guerres de religion…            A Hama, par exemple, l'antique Epiphania où les ruines d'aujourd'hui étaient, il y a peu de temps encore, des jardins fleuris où grinçaient d'improbables ”norias“ de dix à quinze mètres de diamètre, je m’étonnais à chaque visite de voir que les répressions de Hafez el-Assad (le père), meublaient les conversations, quinze et vingt ans après.  Les batailles entre baassistes et frères musulmans avaient fait officiellement plus de 10 000 morts ( le double ?), et les habitants étaient heureux de pouvoir en parler avec un européen arabophone, sans contrainte, alors qu'il se murmurait (chut !) qu'une moitié du peuple syrien surveillait l'autre… et vice-versa !     Et cependant, outre une paix civile réelle dans tout le pays, ce régime permettait à une importante minorité chrétienne (environ 20 % de la population) et aux Yazidis (zoroastriens) de vivre dans une harmonie réelle et une sécurité absolues. Avec le Maroc, ça reste le seul cas connu de ce miracle, dans le monde musulman…

  Mais tout comme en Irak ou en Libye, seule une poigne de fer pouvait ’‘tenir” un pays d'une telle complexité parcouru par tant d'influences centripètes… fût-ce au prix d'un certain nombre d'actes que nos mentalités occidentales réprouvent….           Lorsque, en mars 2011, des manifestations portant sur le coût de la vie ou la “démocratie” (sic !) ont eu lieu, elles étaient pacifiques, tout le monde s'en souvient.  Mais des tirs visant la police ont entraîné une réaction musclée, et la contestation est devenue confrontations entre partisans du régime de Bachar el-Assad et opposants ‘’encouragés’’ par des puissances sunnites (Arabie et Qatar) et chi'ites (Iran), unies pour abattre cet empêcheur de ‘’djihadiser’’ en rond (si j'ose ce mot !).     Les opposants de la première heure (ASL) ont rapidement été phagocytés par les Frères musulmans et les djihadistes salafistes… eux-mêmes vite dévorés par Al Nosra (al Qaïda) et les radicaux du Taqfir wal Hijra, qui poursuivent les projets qui empoisonnent maintenant nos pays et mettent en péril le futur du monde civilisé.

  Si l’Occident avait compris quelque chose au monde arabe, un soutien même verbal au régime en place (au lieu du réel soutien logistique et en armes  d'Obama et de Hollande aux extrémistes islamistes) aurait suffi à éteindre ces mouvements, intrinsèquement mauvais pour tous…  Mais les myopes qui ne perçoivent le monde entier qu'à travers des idées ringardes n'ont su que reproduire les erreurs qui ont échoué en Afghanistan, au Pakistan, en Irak, en Libye etc… alors que tout ce qui a suivi était prévisible dès le début (et avait été annoncé en détails, dans ce Blog).

   Six ans d'une guerre terrible, 200 000 morts (ou le double, selon les sources), 2 millions de déplacés (chiffres officiels. Sans doute davantage !), un pays détruit, l'Europe, envahie, au bord de la rupture, des monuments irremplaçables réduits en poussière, des trésors perdus à jamais, des villes autrefois belles devenues amas de ruines,…  Personne ne s'est jamais posé la question : ’‘Si Assad était tombé alors, que se serait-il passé ? “. Les réponses possibles font froid dans le dos, maintenant que nous en connaissons les tenants et aboutissants, de Daesh au soi-disant “état islamique”, et aujourd'hui, avec les néo ‘’colonnes de la mort’’ iso-génocidaires du terrifiant Erdogan, sans doute le plus grand danger, à terme… 

  Le fait que el-Assad soit aimable ou pas, sympathique ou non, tyran ou despote… ne joue aucun rôle dans ce drame où sont en cause le gaz, le pétrole, les oléoducs, l'accès à la Méditerranée, le retour de la Russie comme grande puissance, le combat contre l'islamisme… et la lutte irresponsable d'Ankara pour reconstituer le rêve extravagant de la renaissance d'un Empire Ottoman idéalisé au delà de toute raison, ce Califat qui signerait la victoire inconditionnelle d'Allah…. tant il est vrai que les liens organiques entre l'Islam et l'islamisme sont différents de ce que racontent la “doxa” et le discours officiel jusqu'au sommet de l'Etat. holds connor (and u) in my arms .. if its regular canon its just his ear Thangz malfunctioning n he cn just get them replaced altho fr added angst he cant get them replaced for a few days even though its just a little while living and knowing hes only hearing some of whats going on and thinking if hank gets hurt and needs him but he doesnt hear til its too late its ., terrifying hes afraid to even leave the house BUT if its reverse au then tht shit is irreversible babey and he is. very fucked up abt losing his hearing and he knows it probably isnt the case but spontaneous hearing loss at age 30 seems sus to him and he cant help but wonder if it was something amanda (who was stingy as hell regarding doctors visits) couldve helped catch and prevent or treat or even just help prepare him for it (but thts mostly just him being confused and angry and sad and searchin fr a scapegoat) but its ok coz hank helps him with coping with it all and helps him learn asl and shit fr when his hearing finally goes all the way
