4x07 // 11x11 Sam meeting Castiel & Eileen

4x07: In a motel room, Sam looks over at Castiel with wonder as he says, “Hello, Sam.” Without thinking, Sam responds, “Oh my god.” Then he catches himself and becomes flustered, saying, “Er– Ah– I didn’t mean to– Sorry.” Castiel watches him, looking stoic.

11x11: At the assisted living facility, Sam says to Eileen, “Alright, um. Thanks.” As he finishes he attempts to sign “Thanks” in ASL, but says, “Fuck you.” instead. Eileen suppresses a smile, holding up a finger and telling him, “It’s, um. Thanks.” as she finishes she uses the correct sign. Sam responds, “Right, of course.” He makes the correct sign for “Thanks” this time. She nods and smiles a bit at him as he says, “Uh, sorry.”

cas/sam/eileen is great because she ADDS to the chaos dynamic and doesn't take away from it. like sam and cas do some crazy shit on their own but then with eileen the whole mf place is burning to the ground in record time

Cas jumps off the elevator. (He keeps forgetting he can't fly.)

Sam is attached to the other end as the anchor, and therefore gets stuck in the hatch.

Eileen is laughing her ass off and wondering how these two lovable dorks have managed to survive this long. (Then remembers that they've all been dead before and shrugs and keeps laughing.)

Sam and Eileen sit together in the library of the bunker, He slowly takes one of her hands in his own. She holds his eye contact and he seems to come to a decision, moving closer and angling himself towards her more fully.

Suddenly, Sam hears the door to the bunker open, and turns away from her, releasing her hand from his first while setting his other on top slightly. She pulls her hands away as they both turn to look up at the door. They see Castiel who says, “Sam.” as he walks toward the railing. Sam gets up and responds, “Cas?!” and Castiel turns to walk down the stairs. Sam walks down the stairs to the map room, asking, “W– What in the world, man?”

Castiel descends the stairs quickly as Sam moves forward, with Eileen following behind him. He asks Castiel, “Where have you been? I– I’ve been calling and– and texting and–” Castiel answers, “I know. I was–” but he hesitates, glancing away, walking fully into the room as he finishes, “Well, it doesn’t matter, I’m– I’m here now. I’m ready to help.” He turns to Eileen as he finishes and nods, acknowledging her. She grins and quietly says, “Hi.”

Sam slowly turns to Eileen, then realizes something, saying, “Yeah, uh.” He between Castiel and Eileen, gesturing to her with one hand and the other on her shoulder, “Cas, this is Eileen Leahy.” Then he looks at Eileen, points at Castiel, and says, “Eileen, this is Cas.” He moves his hands to his sides and looks at Castiel. Castiel tilts his head a little and Eileen smiles at him, raising her eyebrows.

Castiel turns to look at her, a little concerned, saying, “I thought you were–?” She finishes casually, “Dead? Yeah, I... got better?” She smiles and Sam shrugs a little awkwardly, Castiel nods adjusting to this as Sam tells him, “Uh, one-time thing.” Eileen smiles a little awkwardly.

Awww, I'm glad you liked it! I've been half considering writing a fic about this and expanding on the idea. Since the whole timeframe after Sam left the Bunker is just kind of skimmed past, I want to fill in the gaps of how he could have gotten from Point A to Point G you know? I don't see it being a straight path. I don't think he could have gone from that straight into a happy marriage with a kid with no bumps in the road. I think it would have taken time, and work and conscious effort to find a new way to live.

(But I am bad about procrastinating, so we'll see if anything comes of my brainstorm here. *LOL*)

SPN post-series headcanon supported by (almost) absolutely nothing but it makes me happy: Sam went on that werewolf hunt expecting to die. Wanting to die even. Eileen heard about the hunt through Donna, knew about Dean being dead, and rushed down there to make sure Sam didn't do anything stupid. She pulls his bacon out of the fire but even more convinces him that life is worth living. They eventually get married. And sometimes Cas visits. They all 3 go on dates. SAILEENSTIEL LIVES!

Anon nothing exists that doesn’t support that headcanon so I say go for it why not?? What’re they gonna do, release more episodes to contradict you? Also this concept is so sweet and I love it 🥺
