It's going to be OK. I've been meeting platonic partners through the apps & queer community for decades now, and it's absolutely possible. We spend years nerding about food, tea, maths, and sound technology. I set up cohabitation, co-parenting, support networks.

It's terrifying when you're young and isolated. But just be the best person you can be. If you want to be an island, rock on. If you want community, being your best self will attract who you need.

I am writing a qpr in a new novella I am working on. My target audience is people in the a spec community who would like to see more qpr and a spec characters in fiction. So I was wondering what you all would like to see with in qpr or parts of the aroace (or other a spec) experience

Yes, I know how hot I am, and no, me being hot is not a waste just because I don’t want to be your trophy wife. Yes, I know how hot I am, and no, I do not want to be your friend because I know that you’re hoping that you can somehow ‘change my mind’ and make me yours. The two ways I feel about being aroace, changes like every 5 minutes:

1. Yipee I'm aroace! I don't have to deal with the complicated mess known as romance and can spend more times doing other things instead of getting distracted by that!

2. I want to be able to feel romantic attraction it seems so nice I wish I wasn't aroace this sucks so much and the way people describe romantic attraction it seems like the best thing ever I wish so badly I could feel it but I probably never will

Currently I am number 1, so yay!
