I read acotar in December so I'm very new to this. I picked up on elriel really early on and honestly they were one of my favorite things. I was so confused about gwynriel and bryceriel and all kinds of ships claiming to be canon out of the blue since I came to the fandom. It's bonkers.

But I wonder one thing. I have understood who is called the cult leader but I don't know why she is called that. It seems a little mean but maybe there's something I have missed. Why is she called the cult leader? I saw her insta and I think from her theories it seems she barely read the books so I'm not sure why she has gotten so much attention. Her interpretations are so wild and disconnected from the actual books I dont understand why she is taken seriously by anyone.

I feel like I'm missing the fandom lore because nothing makes sense. Except when I reached the elriel, nessian and feysand stans and I feel like i found common sense.

personally, I’ve only had two interactions w the cult leader. Once when I was new to the fandom & innocently commented under their post - disagreeing & another time - one of my friends tagged me under a post, something about Azriels book being next and I commented w how by that same logic they used that Feysands bonus = Elains book next and I got blocked. In fact, Im blocked by lots of the main antis - I barely interacted w any of then but thats how you know Im speaking facts and saying the truth. Anyways,

Its just a funny, mocking name bcs everyone takes what that person says as “law” & dont bother to form their own opinion or challenge the narrative/theories they create - like a cult. They also have a wannabe/copycat like every cult leader does. Its ok tho bcs they mock us w potatoes and “ewriel”.

Basically, you need to know some backstory. Pre-acosf, elriel was very much despised and hated. A lot of the fandom had come to the conclusion they were going to be endgame but loathed the idea of it - hoping that Az would get a new Li, some even shipping Emerie and Az. Here’s comes cult leader who gets ahold of acosf before its release and begins sprouting about Gwynriel and how Gwyn is Azriel’s mate, and it snowballed from there. They were the beacon of hope and light to the people who hated elriel and wanted someone else for Azriel, which is why many people began jumping onto the bandwagon of Gwynriel and parroting whatever theories/arguements that were created at that time - without actually thinking about what they were saying and how its baseless in canon. Gwynriel grew popularity due to how hated Elain was - and the cult leader became the main gwynriel ig, the one people went to, to reaffirm their belief in Gwynriel - therefore gaining popularity within the fandom. The cultleader also doesn’t like Elain outside of elucien which speaks for itself. Oh yh, every single theory and point they’ve made is easily disproven by canon - like it’s embarrassing ngl how easily one can end each point made - But elriels are quiter and more in the minority so gwynriels argeuments/points take over and are more popular (again elriel is rlly hated).

Thats the lore behind why elriels refer them as the cultleader. You’re not missing out on much anon, if there’s any other lore you want to ask about feel free to 🫶

According to one of Taiga's home screen dialogs, there might be some sort of time loop happening which he's KINDA aware of? Or maybe just aware when triggered somehow.

His extreme memory loss, which apparently lasts less than 24 hours. Why is that? Did he go through so many time loops that it started affecting his memory? There was one small moment in which he remembered Ritsu because he saw the MC face though...

The spy. Honestly no idea. There's some theories floating around that Haku is the spy, but I would rather see him during the Hotarubi episode before jumping to conclusions, but it's understandable how people might think that I guess...? He IS very nice and helpful and randomly finding the MC fleeing by train was way too much of a coincidence... he does seem to always tie the MC to Darkwick somehow, firstly by KIDNAPPING her and then by talking her into staying. If the MC is the trigger to a bigger event, then one could see that as suspicious. But I would like a bit more evidence first lol

Back to Taiga, why is he. Like why

Okay no but seriously. If we take the timeloop thing seriously + Haku being a spy, here's the theory:

Taiga knows the MC is the trigger for an awful event and tried killing them back in the Prologue in order to cut the problem on its roots. Haku, if we consider him as the spy, WANTS the event to happen (considering he could also be aware of the loop), which is why he saved us and took us to Darkwick, therefore letting it all play out once again.

If Haku isn't the spy, then we would have to chalk it up as Taiga knowing and trying to kill us, but destiny (???) being a bitch, therefore putting Haku there as a pawn to make things play out again

Maybe the spy can control other ghouls? Who know tbh

Finally, what is going on during the first scene we see in the game? Darkwick on fire and the first character we choose jumping off of the building? I wonder what would happen if we choose Taiga as our first card....... maybe I should create a sub acc

Now I think I have a very far fetched and vague idea as to what is going on.

In chapter 2, we learn that the person that Alan killed was Dante or at least he thought he did. But we meet Dante and he's very much alive.

If Rui is your home screen he talks about accidentally killing someone else in his dorm and being annoyed with having to lift them back to Obscuary. This struck me as a particularly odd dialogue because Rui's curse causes people to die.

This would explain Dante pretty much instantly. Yes Alan killed him but yes he's alive.

The campus itself is an anomaly, stopping people from dying doesn't sound too far fetched. I expect this to be revealed with the other two members of Obscuary, as that dorm seems to have a connection to death. One of the things that always pops up is that ghouls aren't immortal, no matter how quickly they heal.

Also explains how Calamari didn't die in chapter 3. Ren ran from the dorm > the caves > the jetty and Calamari was already pretty dehydrated in the beginning.

But OP you might say, aren't all the guys talking like they believe they're going to die.

Luckily, that brings us to vauge and far fetched theory number two.

In the very last chapter of the prologue we get to see Kaito's wickhive. There we see three pretty interesting threads.

. There's a guy who could see the future

Kaito is surprised at something he sees in this scene but we don't learn what it is. This chapter's 'preview' is one of the scenes we see in the very beginning. Blood and a Lily.

I believe that the first thread is foreshadowing and will . After you meet your chosen guy standing on the railing you get a line of dialogue (or not if you picked Towa) that changes depending on who you picked. Some imply that what they're doing is going to save you(Jiro, Zenji and Sho), some apologize stating that they could protect what they cared about until the very end (Luca,Kaito,Haru and Yuri) but three characters caught my attention

Leo: Life sucks and then you die,right? I just want to make the assholes responsible regret it.

Ren: This is exactly why I didn't to do this! I knew this was how it was going to end.

Subaru: This is all my fault. I don't expect you to forgive me, but this is the least I can do. Please take this as my final act of good faith.

Especially Subaru's and Ren's, that seemingly imply either the MC's (Ren's) or their (Subaru) involvement in the current situation. Now what does this has to do with a potential uprising?

One of the things we learn from the very beginning is the inter-politics of the houses and by extension the ghouls. Especially after the fallout of the clash. Things are pretty tense and an uprising or rebellion seems to be the most likely thing.

As to what happened and why? I have no clue. Though one thing to note is that according to the prophecy, as long as the ghouls are in Darkwick, they prevent a disaster from coming. If Darkwick is destroyed however, the prophecy can't be fulfilled, or can it?"

i met with a good friend yesterday and it was really nice but something is bothering me and i wish it didnt.

so she has started to call herself a „queer feminist“. she kept talking about „queer“ this and „queer“ that and at some point talked about reading a „queer“ book. thats when i interjected and said what does queer mean? this tells me nothing. is it about a trans male experience, about a lesbian woman, this doesnt mean anything (turned out to be about a bisexual woman which is why she related which she probably wouldnt have if it was about a different type of „queer“ person). so i go on saying thats why i find the term useless. she says she finds it a useful umbrella term and i say umbrella for what? she says „what if for example a woman dates a nonbinary person?“ im like well it depends if the person is male or female since sexuality is still based on sex. what do i as a bisexual woman have in common with a straight man who thinks he‘s a woman? i dont see us as part of the same group. and while she wasnt able to explain the usefulness of the term she said she would keep using it. out of principle i guess.

and it frustrates me because she like many other women is an intelligent and reflected woman whose opinion matters to me but she seems to mindlessly parrot whats popular right now which makes me take her opinion on feminism a lot less serious. how are you a feminist but you think one can identify in and out of womanhood? who are womens rights for then? people who identify as women or people who are women? at the end of the day, if you think women can stop being women under certain conditions, i just dont know how you are helping the liberation of women.

i just cant take people seriously who earnestly use nothing terms like „queer“ and „nonbinary“ and who think me an extremist for not pretending the person we both know is a woman is a „nonbinary person“. it doesnt seem like she has thought about why its predominantly women identifying as nonbinary, and what background these people have (we live in a very liberal city and shes doing her masters in a program and at a university that is breathing queer theory). its like a virus, smart women suddenly regurgitating and internalising all this seemingly without ever considering the implications and consequences. and it creates a distance between women like my friend and i who definitely share a value system but i refuse to pretend and just accept.

she doesnt even know theres many lesbian, gay, bisexual and even trans people who dont consider themselves „queer“. „queer“ is its own community and NOT an umbrella term for same sex attracted or gender dysphoric people (who are already not a coherent group). depending who you ask, asexuals and intersex people are also included. which basically makes „queer“ another term for „different“ (which is its original meaning completely lost here because we are in germany and only use queer in this context).

and since we had debates in the past i already know where it will go when we talk about it. she considers me to be extreme anyways so we will start with her wanting to reject my opinion. it will end with her saying „i cant argue with that (my arguments) but i still disagree“ because its so scary to start questioning all that while youre in these super „queer“ environments.

i got into atz after a past hyperfixation of mine went badly (never get into white gamer men), and i just needed something to keep myself afloat and sane— that "love" ended up being more genuine as time passed, them being less of a "rebound" (im sorry) and more of something i like and im passionate abt, alongside another long-standing hyperfixation ive had with a fictional boy

a few months ago that hyp also went badly. i didn't wanted to see or acknowledge that his author was fumbling him for years, and that he was slowly changing into someone else. it all blew up on me seeing all the traits that i loved about him not being there anymore, he was pretty much a soulless doll that got into a frankly undercooked relationship with his girl best friend. no acknowledgement of his trauma, no introspection, not even some tears (he was my crybaby hero!!! WHERE DID HE GO 😭😭)

but anyways. ever since then ive been getting more into atz, and the more i started to realize how i unconsciously was attracted to members that displayed the most aspects of the fictional character's personality. for ex. hwa's passion for his interests, sn's drive to protect and understand people that are different to him, mingi's live convos taking things like aliens coming to earth seriously... in those moments, i found glimpses of what that boy was for me- i could almost reach out and feel that he was actually real, even if he was cut to pieces and in different people.

maybe the boy i loved was the most basic form of something made for a woman to love and fantasize about, but that doesn't erase that ive spent almost a decade loving him idc

OK first of all, I love that you called me MUFFIN :D :D. Secondly, this imaginative way you're using the personas that Ateez is presenting to you and weaving as they go is one of the optimal ways of engaging in fandom. You seem kind of down on yourself about approaching things that way but, Friend, reality is harsh and life can be very difficult, and there's nothing wrong with engaging in fantasy using the publicly presented personas of people who want your attention. You seem imaginative in general, so maybe, eventually, instead of having to rely on other authors (who disappoint), you can create your own blorbo, which then will delight other people.

To answer your questions:

I am self diagnosed. I did talk to a therapist who isn't a ND specialist and she basically said there really wouldn't be a point to getting an official diagnosis, because the therapies available would be of the type that are too rudimentary for someone like me who is already an adult. I had to figure things out the hard way, through traumatizing trial and error, about what NTs will react violently to, but that's in the past. I already know now. I hear a lot about young children now being diagnosed, and it's received and relayed as a disaster, like the child has fallen terribly ill, but these kids are also of the non-interactive, non-verbal, can't-mask variety of NDs. ADHD is caught by teachers very well, apparently, and the children are medicated and given therapy as much as the parents can afford. We did have a very popular K-drama, about a ND genius attorney. I don't watch TV of any country very much so I didn't watch that, but a friend did and she thought it was too idealized and silly. The prejudices and oppression against people who seem odd or are disabled or can't fit in in Korea are about what you'd see anywhere else in the developed world, I think.

The "don't look at other idols" thing is something I've seen Lee Know allude to (though not as directly) from Stray Kids and though my sample is just two, given how differently they're styled and marketed from Ateez, I have come to assume and extrapolate that all boy Idols say this to their fans. I've written elsewhere about the economics of boybands that I've learned from books on the industry, but for the tldr: the boybands survive on financial engagement from their specific fandoms, girlbands go for more 'mass' appeal. It's imperative for a boyband to have the continued attention and loyalty of their fandom audience to survive through the next 'comeback.' They have to say that, and pray that the fandom stay with them.

Tbh, its not the fact that smg4 didnt become a villain angers me in this mini arc. In fact im happy he wasn't. The most thing that bugs me so much is this whole entire mini arc felt rushed and forced, It made me confused, it was messy in lots of places. Hi I get where you're coming from I promise, but without trying to sound like mean, you had high hopes for the silly weekly meme show that doesn't take itself too seriously, I really don't know what else to say to that.

Maybe I'm waaay too easy, I am happy to just watch a bunch of characters that I like do silly things together and sometimes have a story too them, as long as it's funny and makes me laugh I really don't care about whatever takes place. Yes I love it when they are serious and they tell really good stories/arcs and I love that, but I don't take anything too seriously because the creators don't either, not in a bad way but in a fun and silly way. It's hard for me now to get upset over SMG4, I learnt what getting overhyped for SMG4 does and I'm not making that mistake again lol. At its core, it's a show made for fun, it's not trying to achieve any major story or plot, it's there to have fun and THAT'S what I love about it and why I can over look a lot of things to it.

Don't get me wrong I love taking this shit seriously sometimes for the sake of theorys and analysis and things like that, but when you're taking it more seriously than the creators, of course you're gonna stumble and fall and get confused and angry. Watching Climatiqueen

Headed into the first episode of the season, as the sixth episode to watch. (because nothing makes sense in this franchise) --- Ok so to start: Im on the page and im seeing the end-of-episode splash-art. Either this is a new character, Aurore has had a major overhaul, or the people who headcannon Adrien as Trans are about to rejoice quite loudly. (I think that this is probably either a new character, or an Aurore Redesign. But they look very Adrien, and the light makes it hard to see if the eyes are blue or green so that isnt helping) ---

Rose with the Unipony. Why does this read like an Ad? Has Kitty Section got itself a sponsorship? Did Rose sell out to RothToys Industries?

Ok so its an Aurore redesign. (good for her, sorry Trans Adrien fans, you'll have to stick with headcannons). Oh Chloe is back. She's claiming to grant wishes now? (and is clearly resentfull of the heroes... with a notable exception that she mentions Unicorns? which seems to be unrelated to any existing hero. Also no mention of Cat's. Is that Alec? I'll be honest, his wig looks weird, but He do Him. Ok Plagg and Adrien are alone. There is no timepressure, nobody about to enter the room and the Big Lie has just been brought up: Will Plagg's writing actually acknowledge the fact that Plagg knows the truth. Or are we going to have to invent some kind of "timetraveler stole Plagg's Memory" theory, because all Plagg's appearences this season have seemed to go out of their way from even acknowledging the fact that Plagg knows. Nope. No acknowledgement besides Plagg looking sideways in worry for Adrien being sad. Also Marinette is gone for some reason, Maybe this takes place during a summer vacation or something? --- Ok Marinette is still just home? So i guess "wait for you to arrive" just means Marinette is going to come over to his place. The Melodramatic tone of that line did not match with the degree of Marinette's absence. She's going to some kind of workshop?

French Plagg looks weird. And i dont like the flanderisation in this scene, continuing the "Plagg=cheese" thing and nothing more. Nathalie being a supportive mom is nice. Adrien doesnt know what he wants.

--- Placide with the hose. Ok so she's just going to Adriens place after all, not a workshop? Seriously what the heck are even the plans? This is mixed messages all over the place.

seven out of a hundred in one greeting... Marinette switches from French Pronounciations to an english-pronounced "fantastic" (which is weird, i remember from my french classes that the french also just... have 'fantastique', so the loanword feels redundant?) Ok like the little picture of Sublime playing the violin in the background, before turning to what apears to be a depressed Lila? --- Aurore is depressed as well. (did she get fired from her weathergig? I know she lost the contest but i think i remember them co-hosting anyway?)

I like that Placide has decided to just... carry a pressurised water-backpack with him.

Ok so we're meeting this Aglae character now. She looks like a vampire. Also it seems that she isnt sad about anything in her life but just... trying to win Chloe's Contest for 'greatest rise in subscribercount'. It's becoming very obvious now that this app is more then just a stylised way to represent character connections. It looks like Tomoe's plot is probably going to be a repeat of the "social media is evil"-angle from the rings)

Ok but why are there animal-themed communities? It was one thing when we thought it was just... using the symbols as profile pictures but its some kind of clique/caste system? Is that what the overarching plot for Tomoe is going to be? Some kind of Die Welle for Kids? Max's mom has a book about space weather. (My prediction: Adrien's Passion is going to be 'networking' and connecting his friends, fixing peoples problems and stuff, so this episode ends with Adrien getting Aurore to meet with Max so Max can get his mom to sign her book)

Ok so... I hate to say it but those people who assumed (just of the fact it was a character they didnt know yet) that Aglae was gonna be secretly Lila might have been hit with the sacred dodgeball. This scene could very well end up with a 'turns out it was lila, pretending to be supportive but deliberately planting the suggestion'. that is not to say i think they're right. (we literally only have 1 scene of the character, and nothing in this scene is truly damning). But it is to acknowledge that this character's introduction fits eerily in line with 'what would Lila do'. (just... if the writers actually wrote Lila as legitimately competent at her manipulations, which i still dont think they'd ever do.) Oh i see where this is headed... Placide is going to break her phone with his waterhose, leading to the akumatisation... (honestly, at this point, im just happy that we're akumatising aurore rather then going full-maya and introducing a new character to take her place like Maya took Manon) --- Ok. getting off the elevator im going to go into an aside. Because this seemingly small scene feels (to me) like its secretly a very big scene indeed. This scene seems to confirm a suspicion/hypothesis/theory i've had for a while: Adrien's Senti-Power. Ever since the Senti-stuff was introduced, and it became obvious that someone at the Agreste Manor was a senti (which is to say, the Ladybug episode introducing the concept of human-senti's), i've been speculating to myself which character it was gonna be. initially i was 20% Gabriel, 25% Nathalie, 5% Placide, 50% adrien. With Adrien having grown quite quickly. My main lead on Adrien was the fact that he was the only one that seemed to have a 'superpower' in their human form. Adrien's status instant mastery of anything. His nature as a polyglot and Homo Universale rendered him my main suspect for the Senti-twist early on. (even moreso then him being the most 'important' member of the family). Especially when combined with the Gabriel's "perfection" talk having had a big "ultimate lifeform"-tone to it. Which is to say, i posited the theory that Adrien has, all along, had a secret senti-power. The power to instantaneously master any skill he tried. Up until now, that hypothesis has been limited to indirect evidence, in the form of his wide and eclectic portfolio of skills and seemingly disparate fields of competency. But lacking the explicit 'instantaneous learning' proof required for an outright confirmation. (It having never been clear how quickly he took to learning Chinese, Piano or other skills) But this scene particularly? Explicitly stating he did all these things, from painting to macarons (which i understand to be a relatively advanced pastry-recipe) amazingly 'on his first try'. To me feels like it's meant to confirm exactly that suspicion. either that or Marinette is lying to spare his feelings. Which could theoretically be supported by the comedic-hijinks of the montage. But it's clear that Marinette, in this scene, is entirely 100% comprehensive of the fact that Adrien is indifferent to his competence and only trying to find the field of his passion. which is to say, 'lying to spare his feelings' has no place within this scene, as no one in this scene 'cares' about wether adrien is good at the thing. Basically. I feel like this scene is carrying big evidence for my 'Instant Mastery'-hypothesis. --- Ok Marinette is switching tactics: Instead of trying to see if Adrien likes the things she likes, she's trying to Yin Yang "opposites attract" this problem. I like this, its a scene of Marinette actually performing explicit self-sacrifice out of a desire to support her boyfriend. Please show do not ruin this the way you ruined werepapa's. We've gotten so little of marinette being a genuinely good girlfriend. Please tell me that everything we've seen so far has been an unfortunate series of aberattions, rather then a deliberate pattern established in episode one of your new season.

--- huh... its the aproaching deadline that gets her akumatised? I had legitimately expected them to make it to be the established 'placide sprays paparazi' running gag for this episode. Im gonna say it. That's dissapointing to me. Ok so here's a thing: Aurore still has her old akuma design right? And Millie had the same hair as Ringmaster (to the point where, in the promo-shots where Ringmaster had the Microphone, i legitimately thought it was Stormy Weather 3.0) and now Aglae also has the same 'skunk-type' hair. It feels like the writers heard the "too many blondes" complaint, and just copy-pasted Stormy's hair to compensate. --- Ok so the 'baricade yourself' scene does feel like... if the Lilaglae theorists are right, this scene would've been deliberately more drawn-out for a later "from Lila's perspective" reveal. (and yes, that does require the "Chrisalis is two people" theory to be true as well, but that theory is much more substantive on the evidence, with the notetakers clearly looking like different models and the two seperate voices). --- Now its time for the Climatiqueen fight. Now remember: The one thing the writers claim they want, is for Lila to be a 'worse' and 'more legitimate' threat then Hawkmoth was. Aurore has had 2 previous akumatisations (though only the first was on-screen), and given that Stormy Weather was the original pilot, and this is the season opener. this is the best chance at a direct comparison. And im gonna say it, the mind-controll 'press like on my video's' power is just... kind of a lame and worthless addition. And at least initially, the power-uses feel a lot more simple. She's pretty much limited herself to smaller scale effects. No giant, slow-growing glacier of suspence threatening. just some generic point-to-point lightning, a minor windblast and an iceslick.

At what point did Maribug hear Aurore refer to herself as climatiqueen? It feels like Mari should refer to her as Stormy and be corrected. Adrien gets to dodge some lightning. (its nice to see him portrayed as on-screen competent for once... usually the closest we get to "adrien is still badass" is "Marinette leaves and Adrien doesnt get killed off-screen so he must be somewhat competent" so the little lightning-dodge sequence is nice) Ok we're wind-blasting cars... thats better then when this fight started, but still feels small-scale compared to OG stormy Ok... so why cataclysm the train when you were already going to be running through it? It feels to me like Marinette could've easily side-dodged or followed him through the train. The Cataclysm feels wasted.

Ok when the heck did Lila get to skip 'regular' akuma and go straight to 'ultrakuma'. That has not been earned.

--- "everything on the internet is lies" ok so i really hope this "dangers of social media"-storyarc isnt going to end up swallowing the "big lie" storyarc, but given that both this first episode and the episode explicitly about the big lie seem to be focussing on the "evils of the social media"... i feel like that's waving a red flag. It could be that theoretically they manage to weave the "internet of lies" and "Marinette's big lie" stories together (through the shared themes of Ignorance VS Truth)... but given how Revalator ended i dont trust them to stick the landing there. Oh we're doing "superheroing is Adrien's passion" as well?.. I dont like it, if this was the first episode of the season I might be cautiously optimistic about that.. but given that I already know what happens in the next couple episodes (and especially how Daddycop turns this line into "Actually, i love being a disposable meatshield for you to sacrifice without agency of my own"). I just dont like this being his "passion".

--- Am I misremembering things? Arent they supposed to eat special cheese to go Astro-mode? Or did they lose that limitation at some random point off-screen as well. Seriously this feels like the writers just dont care about anything anymore. Ok it feels really weird how little Max has to do with this episode only for him to be called in here. (same problem as the Weredad episode. But at least that episode primarily featured a Fetch-based solution with him as a mere cameo. This episode is going to be a Portal-based solution for a character whose motivations directly connect to Max' mother. His only appearing 3/4ths into the episode feels wrong).

Ok max im sorry to say it but... your portals dont stop momentum At most you turned a 270-ish meter fall (viewing platform heigth) to a 10 meter drop, but most of these people were already falling fast enough to get badly injured. (also, to see season 6 be the first to acknowledge that the Eiffel tower, which our heroes have destroyed in the past has people on it feels a tad late. It casts a shadow backwards throughout the canon that makes previous seasons a lot darker)

Oh nice, lila herself acknowledges that her debut villain was lame. It seems the writers themselves acknowledge their failure to 'sell' her as the 'worse and more dangerous' antagonist. I dont even need to write some witty punchline. They're just going to be frank and honest about the fact that Lila just... lacks punch as an antagonist. Good on you for being honest Thomas --- Oh we're making running his passion-answer? I actually like that, movement, wind through the hair, freedom and mobility contrasting the imprisonment of the gabriel-era mansion. it's nice... or at least a lot nicer then "being ladybug's disposable human sacrifice is my passion" at least. I do not like how this scene has the dark ominous musical sting, The Sublime=evil theorists are going to take that sting and i just know the fanbase is going to find a new level of toxicity as a result. I also do not like the implication that Adrien meeting Sublime is bad, and that therefore Marinette's choice in this scene not to stalk adrien must be a bad thing for allowing it to happen.

--- As a final note this episode is underwhelming, but mostly harmless (at least on its own)... I do dislike how this episode seems to be feeding both the 'Algae=secretly lila" and "Sublime=lila' theories. (the former in a rather subtle manner, the latter in a very obvious poster-change and musical sting). I really worry about those theories. It feels like both of those theories are going to be the big thing in the fandom... And i dont trust either of those theories to end up 'good'. I also want to end this by repeating my big question: Does the app lack a cat-emote, or is that actually some kind of "chloe doesnt hate Chat Noir like she hates the other heroes"-clue that might pay off later?

Personally, if your entire romance completely depends on having a predetermined bond forged by a higher deity that we know near nothing about, then maybe it isn't a great romance?

This is specifically targeting the people that say Feysand is the pinnacle of love when if they weren't mated, Rhysand wouldn't give two flying fucks about Feyre and vice versa.

Their entire relationship is only held up by the mating bond which canonically alters their emotions to force them together. Rhysand states that the reason he was even drawn to Feyre in the first place was the bond.

Can we genuinely say that Rhysand would have cared to try and get Feyre out of Prythian if they weren't mated? Of course not. Because that's the whole reason he did it, because they were mated, they had no preexisting relationship development before hand. Its the whole reason he 'helped' her under the mountain, its the whole reason he forced her to make that bargain, its the whole reason he swept her up on the wedding day. It's the whole reason he did anything for her at all.

Even their relationship only started to kick off because Feyre was held hostage in the Night Court for a week a month. Isolated with Rhysand and only his friends, in a secret city completely cut off from the rest of the world.

Perhaps I am being unfair, maybe I just hate the mating bond trop altogether, it's a good idea in theory, but to me the love always feels superficial, like the couple would have never gotten together if a God for some reason said otherwise.

At least give me decent details on the deity and the motive behind it, Jesus.

Personally I believe mating bonds should affect the person only physically rather than emotionally, and should be less sexual (I'll state again, in my opinion only, take whatever I say with a grain of salt) It's a tying of souls, I think it should focus more on the people and their personalities rather than how much they want to fuck each other.

Feeling warmer whenever in their presence and feeling colder the further they are away. Imagine two mates who have struggled with feeling cold all the time, until they finally meet each other and feel warm, almost too hot, for the first time in their lives.

Feeling overstimulated after seeing them again after far too long apart, e.i, skin feeling extremely sensitive, lights being too bright, normal sounds suddenly being too loud, flashes of hot and cold, etc etc.

Rather than emotionally feeling longing, your body starts to automatically jerk in the direction of your mate, like several twitches, getting really shaky, etc.

Bonus points if the mating bond is rare enough that some dont even know about it, so it clicks into place, all of this starts happening, and the two mates are like "WHAT. THE. FUCK. IS. HAPPENING???"

Then the severing of the bond not having extreme long term symptoms. Perhaps feeling like the loss of a friend who wasn't entirely close, but close enough that you feel the pinch of grief. Then, again in my opinion, rejecting it doesn't seem like something that will harm you. Because no matter how you try to spin it, if you reject a bond in ACOTAR you are setting yourself up for a lifetime of pain.

In turn, there has to be incentive to keep the bond as well. The promise of a lifelong partner who loves you like you are their own soul. The feeling of being favored by the God you worship. The social aspect of a mated couple. Things that wouldn't ruin your life without them, but are enough to not make say two enemies yeet the bond like an blood-sucking parasite.

Anyway, all this to say, mating bonds suck in ACOTAR, they have near to no building into the world around them, and if a relationship is entirely dependent on it, then I'm sorry I can't take the relationship all that seriously (again in my PERSONAL opinion)
