I Like this creator but they put this on today and I asked what they meant (I knew) and their answer was yes, they meant JK.

It’s absurd how people have these crass expectations of JK especially when it comes to how he acts about Jimin. Like he cannot do anything right, by their standards. Like pjms hate him, and then turn around and further that hate when he does something they don’t like ‘to Jimin. Like Jimin can’t stand up for himself. And as someone else said, it was his choice to make us aware about where JK was, and they listened together. But it was JK who told us back in December Jimin was doing good and they shower together. As I said, nothing is good enough.

I also think people have really weird expectations of someone else’s queer relationship in general. I mean Jimin has the most emotional intelligence of anyone I have seen, he wouldn’t put up with it if he was being mistreated. I fully believe that to be true.

I am glad Jimin is telling us these things, at one point I didn’t think he would given the hate he faces, and that also in 23 he was denied mostly everything about JK, he even told Fallon that he only kept in touch with J Hope and Suga, imagine how JK felt. Again that was his choice.

I don’t care that JK didn’t act like these folks wanted him to. In the moment, it was hilariously cute and funny. In reality they were giggling together in the barracks.

As you say they absolutely choose what they tell us - and haven't they been highly generous already? - so please can they stop making up entire narratives over small interactions its not a soap opera. Jimin & Jungkook are enlisted together as we speak. Would they do that if they didn't have an actual meaningful relationship? Would Jimin enlist with him if Jungkook was hurtful? Would Jimin be laughing with JK like he does if he was miserable with him?

I swear they need to use their brains. It's madness.

Why the members must always be victims of something?

People always repeat "let's trust the members" well it's a smokescreen bcs nobody trust them apparently to be adult and make the right decisions for themselves. Nobody believe in their character and strength and above all, discernement and judgement.

ARCHER'S (UNHINGED) LOVE OUT LOUD 2025 (DAY 1) HIGHLIGHTS

pond seems to have passed the curse of contacts onto a bunch of people, but that also means he is finally rid of the curse himself, so i am (unfortunately for everyone else) just happy i could see his beautiful brown eyes the whole time.

very simply, as a known queer bully, i want to say that heterosexuality has no space at LOL. it is a BL-CPs-focused event for a reason. if you want to have men and women thrusting at each other on stage, do it somewhere else.

that said, hilariously enough, because all the background dancers during pondphuwin's "bad girls like you" were separated into guy-girl pairs, what pondphuwin had going on with all the choreography and making eyes at each other felt even gayer than it would have otherwise in contrast, so thanks for that i guess.

speaking of which, all the lyrics should be changed to be gay too. this is the boys love event. boys are supposed to be loving boys today. (and tomorrow).

pond and phuwin said they chose "bad girls like you" to show that they are mature now, which just means @ jojo tichakorn, pack up your pondphuwin suitcase, we are finally ready to go on a second adventure.

phuwin kind of jokingly said that his dancing can't compare to a boyband member like pond, but pond really praised him for how well he did during the performance 🥹🫶 (<- this reminds me of phuwin saying during one interview that it means a lot to him when pond compliments him on his dancing specifically).

the second song pondphuwin sang was from the pov of a person who doesn't express their love with words too often, which is extremely lore-accurate to phuwin and extremely lore-inaccurate to pond kgjkldfgjklfdg do with that what you will.

forcebook committed what i can only describe as an act of phycological terrorism today (/lh).

their first song was about friends who are in love with each other but are too afraid to confess. (ok, literal childhood friends forcebook?) it was fully choreographed too with some adorable moves. then they had a little chat, which demonstrated a speedrun from mutual pining friends to an old married couple. only to go back to the theme of the song, asking each other if they ever felt that way, and both saying yes.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! the second song came around, a good while later in terms of the concert, and it was ABOUT FRIENDS WHO ARE IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER BUT TOO AFRAID TO CONFESS. AGAIN. but this one was sad and full of yearning. it also ended with the lyrics "the more you feel like a close friend, the less i feel like i have the right to say..." followed by *huge pause, full of yearning* "...that i love you." *more yearning* *last second absolute bodyslam of a hug* *fades to black*

it was truly insane, i felt like i was on crack cocaine after their second performance.

joongdunk and firstkhaotung both did what you could potentially consider a little nod at THK, with joongdunk performing 'baby tee' in, indeed, baby tees (or crop tops, if you will, shout out style) and firstkhaotung performing a rock song, which just kind of gives THK.

speaking of firstkhaotung, there was this one kind of silly song about proposals with a couple of people, including them, and at one point first proposed to khaotung with a comically large ring. highlight of the day.

going back to joong, he got really emotional during the "goodbye" while thanking the fans and i'm pretty sure almost cried 🥺🤏

our only actual tears of the day, though, were jimmy's after jimmysea sang a break-up song, which clearly touched him 🥺

perthsanta were really sweet and it was very apparent they care about each other a lot throughout. during the "greetings", perth let santa talk during the entirety of perthsanta's allocated time because LOL is a new experience for santa. both songs they chose were rock songs, clearly because perth really loves rock. santa got a dance break and perth got a guitar solo moment during their first song. and perth got quite emotional during the "goodbye"!

on a crazier note, perth called santa "khun noo" (approx. young master) and santa called perth "daddy". live with this information.

earthmix had a domestic through song on stage, but worry not - they were fine right after and their second song was very sweet dflkgjdfkgjkfldg

them almost kissing at the end of the second song was crazy btw. i felt like i was intruding on a moment.

they are letting earth be silly again btw! and i love it! he is adorable.

speaking of silly, williamest's first performance was very "you are tripping on lsd", but in like a fun way.

winnysatang whipped their lavawave out early, because their first song was very royalty-coded.

gemfourth held hands and also sang a song that was a combination of their two solo songs, which i think was really cute.

fourth's new hairstyle looks fucking amazing btw!

we had a surprise appearance by aou my beloved!!! (worry not, next year he will be on the same stage but the whole time and with his partner, i am sure of it). JASP✦ER performed 'TAKE IT OFF' and then we had a JASP✦ER x LYKN collab which was incredible!!

and oh yeah, LYKN performed as guests!!

'SADISTIC' was performed by a bunch of people: interestingly enough, just pond and santa (no joong), phuwin, perth, and dunk nonetheless, as well as gemini, fourth, sea, force, and est. they did not dance, in fact all of them spent the entire performance flying around on harnesses and doing occasional backflips. i am personally starting a conspiracy theory that they were all going to dance, but then either ran out of time or some of the... less dance-inclined, let's say, participants couldn't nail the choreo. thus, everyone was sent flying instead.

in general, love that they expanded the theme to literally anything connected with the sky, so we got a lot of space-themed and different sky-themed motifs (day, evening, night, etc.), it was really cute!

both the "rocksphere" performances were iconic: the lines up of gem/prem/william/perth/pond/phuwin and sea/fourth/gem/pond/phuwin are both pristine, gem on the drums was awesome, perth leaning on william while playing the guitar was incredible, loooove the pink strap on pond's bass, AND the fact that they covered "secret" by perth warms my heart (it is an underrated bop).

altersphere was VERY dad rock, i am fascinated by dad rock in thai because i've literally never heard it in any other language but my mother tongue before - force/joong/first/mix/jimmy nailed it btw.

overall, i really enjoyed myself! i stick to my complaints about the heterosexuality of the background dancers, however, and urge everyone to remember this is very much a BL-based event. i am paying money out of my pocket to see boys love on stage (musical edition) and absolutely nothing else.

Oh! So, that's because after everyone graduates and moves away Hiram basically destroyed the town so he could make money off a real estate development scam and when Archie found out he brought everyone back to stop him.

Okay, so they graduated at the end of season 4 after spending most of the year trying to figure out who tried to kill Jughead for a third time. Because Jughead goes to this private school called Stonewall Prep.

A THIRD TIME?

Yeah. See, at the end of season 3 Coke Sprite didn't want to practically be naked at 4am during a Canadian winter so they wrote him out of the scene and people think that the writers based the whole plot around that.

When was he almost killed the second time?

Right, so in season 3 they do an homage to the Satanic Panic surrounding DnD by creating a game called Gryffins and Gargoyles that asks you to gamble your life on drinking poisoned Kool-Aid. And that's completely separate to the organ harvesting cult that tried to suck in Betty through her mom and sister. Also this is all happening while Archie is in juvie-

Yeah. So, in season 2, Jughead joins a gang (and this is the first time that he's almost killed because Hiram basically sends him off to be slaughtered but he survives) and Archie doesn't like that he did that so he joins ranks with Hiram because he's dating Veronica and thinks he can play both sides (he can't). And when Veronica chooses Archie over her dad, Hiram frames Archie for murder.

I thought it was about Archie Comics...

The show is about a town. A small town. And the people who live in that town. From a distance it presents itself like so many other small towns all over the world. Safe, decent, innocent. Get closer though and you start seeing the shadows underneath...

Dean understands himself. He is not drowning in internalized homophobia. He doesn't not know that he's into men. What Dean is, however, is a liar. He lies to everyone, all the time. I think this touches on the queer experience in a way we dont always see in media. We always talk about coming out and coming out scenes but what we never talk about why we come out. It's because of how difficult the lying is. But deans lied about everything, all his life. Not just about his sexuality, or things related to hunting. But he lies (directly or by ommission) about the music he likes, the clothes he likes, literally everything, just to fit into this box of what everyone expects him to be. He understands himself, you just don't have the critical thinking skills to see past his lies, you take his word at face value even though the show has told you repeatedly that dean is a liar

the subtle little moments of nervousness buck has re: his sexuality might actually kill me.

bc yeah, there's these big moments (e.g the hot chicks/ally comments), but there's also smaller things i haven't seen many ppl touch on. like the way he makes sure chimney isn't home when he goes to talk to maddie, or the fact that after he's decided he does want to come out to eddie it takes two attempts before he manages to get the words out and then when he does he still can't shake the worry his best friend might be weirded out.

even in 7.09 after he's had his big coming out moment, after he's mauled tommy's face in a hospital waiting room in front of god and half a dozen nurses, he still gets nervous, almost apologetic, when bobby brings up tommy. as though he still isn't quite sure how to actually talk about the boyfriend-ness of it all.

it's just so nice to see a show craft a coming out storyline that isn't centered around homophobia but also doesn't ignore the reality of what coming out means, and the weight that kind of realisation carries with it.

and i really hope they manage to keep that balancing act up in s8. I hope we actually get to see buck navigate things like his superior walking up to him and his bf at a work event and making homophobic comments, and watch as he figures out what it means for him to be an openly bisexual man in a queer relationship.

and please, please for the love of god let me have some hen/buck queer solidarity scenes.

You both never had to confess. It just happened. You both were at the bar. Sevika was playing a round of poker with her friends and you were on her lap.

Her friends asked her, “Is she your girlfriend or somethin’?” he asks Sevika.

She looks at you, and you look at her. And there's a softness in her eyes and you could read her so well.

You gave her a slow nod, and she turned to her friends and confirmed that you both are official.

Ambessa

You are Mel's college friend. She's seen you for a couple years. She's no fool. Ambessa can see whats going on.

Her way of flirting is bullying you.

             She asks you to help her out with some menial stuff.

“Get me that paper”

“Hold this pot for me”

Despite that, you make excuses to stay longer around her or just linger around.

She hates people who linger.

She will corner you when mel’s not around

And

“Do you wish to say something, girl? Speak up,” she demands your words. You open your mouth without meaning to, but no words come out.

She'll come closer, gently hold you, but her eyes seem so dangerous.

Ambessa had her suspicions about you and Mel being a thing, but with how you act around her, maybe you do have a thing for the wrong Medarda.

She'll release her grip on you and walk away. For the next few times, she distances herself from you, which makes you sad. Now, Ambessa is a woman who gets what she wants. She makes you confront her.

You confront her, being all whiny and needy. Then she taunts you on your neediness (why wouldn't she) before finally taking care of you. But the taunts never really stop. She'll always discreetly find a way to touch you, even when Mel is around.

Grayson

She's such a gentlewoman.

She doesn't need to know if you're gay or straight; this is just how she treats every woman.

Opens car doors, pulls out chairs, says “ladies first,” and just loves to treat you with chivalry. 

You are a Piltovian commoner, and you caught her eye.

Whenever you come across her, she asks if there's someplace you want to be dropped to or picked up from. She'll make polite conversation and move on with her day.

Her sweet gestures make you swoon.

Eventually, one day, she asks you out to dinner. You of course accept.

She picks you up from your place sharp at the time you both decided on. She rings your doorbell, walks you to the car, and opens the door for you.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, she pulls out a chair for you. The waiter arrives, and she lets you order first. It's just a perfect, perfect date night.

Then, she gently holds your hand and kisses your knuckles. (If you somehow were straight, you aren't anymore after all this.)

She asks you

“My dear, are you perhaps interested in women”? You say yes and tell her your sexuality. 

“Well, I'm delighted to know that. But would you be interested in going out with me?

Who could ever deny such a sweet woman?

Helluva Boss is not progressive, not only is its portrayal of queer people incredibly questionable but the female characters are treated like garbage. The show is so incredibly misogynistic, so is the fandom and it's incredibly exhausting.

All the women's plotlines revolve around men, their stories are in the men's perspective and/or sparked because of a man. None of their personalities, back stories, conflicts, etc. are in a woman's perspective. I understand this show has a large amount of male characters but that's no excuse.

The male characters are allowed to have their emotions raw, exposed and artistically written/drawn. Yet the women can't do any of that. We get pieces of backstory, it's never in their perspective either.

Now, I don't want to hear any excuses about how we just need to wait. It's been years and our main female characters are one-dimensional compared to the men.

This isn't a "man-bad" post, I'm just commenting on how the women just revolve around the men and nothing else. As well as the general sexist writing of the series.

Do I think Vivian intentionally writes women this way? No, I hope not. I just think she has no idea how to write women whatsoever. As well as characters in general.

Stella

Stella is a one-dimensional, insufferable moral scapegoat. She's a charcuterie of an abusive wife, she's such a poor villain that Vivian made Andrealphus (which is basically male Stella) to process the plot instead of her because she's nothing but a hysterical idiot. The only way Stella could have affected the story was if she were a man.

She's basically deemed "pure evil", we only get her story through Stolas' perspective, her character is incredibly lackluster and stereotypical. Like a majority of women in the series she has anger issues and physically abused the main (usually male) character.

A lot of people excuse her poor writing as something we need to wait for. But it's been two seasons and she's supposedly the main villain, yet we don't get a crumb of basic characterization and she's overshadowed by her brother because Vivian refuses to let women do things without another man in the picture.

She's written to be stupid, angry, nonsensical, bratty and loud. We rarely get to see her be an actual villain and scenes with Stolas (or even Octavia). We know nothing about her because she's just there to scream for the reader's enjoyment. Stella has potential, but since she is female, she is reduced to just a bitter wife and nothing more.

Millie

A lot of people have already critiqued Millie already, but I'm still going to put my perspective here. Millie is a character that only exists for men. She's Moxxie's husband and Blitzø's best friend.

In her supposed episodes, it revolved around men. Her conflict with insecurity in Unhappy Campers is sparkled by Moxxie, her anger and eventual backstory reveal happens because of Blitzø. Not once do we get her raw perspective unless another man is in the mix.

In Ghostfuckers, Millie isn't possessed, we don't get her perspective when separated, she's there to just comfort Blitzø and give crumbs of her character just for him. Mille has plenty of opportunity to be fleshed out but she's never given the chance to just have an episode for herself.

Not to mention the pregnancy plot line. Instead of exploring her self loathing, anger or even something new. They decide to make her pregnant because of course they would. One of the time woman fighters is just reduced to baby drama, which we all know will revolve around Moxxie and eventually get forgotten by the main plot in favor of the pointless melodrama.

Millie has anger issues, which is a running trait in all these days women. I can't help but think that the constant angry personality is just leaning into the "hysterical woman" trope. Millie's frustrations in Sinmas aren't the source of genuinely interesting conflict but hormones and that's just insulting.

She doesn't even get to talk in Mastermind, her husband does. What the hell? The angry, passionate woman doesn't argue once? Oh my God.

Loona is another case of wasted potential. She was born as a Hellhound, which gave her a rough upbringing. And her conflict with her trauma could have been good if the show treated it as something serious. She's a victim of trafficking and her physical abuse / anger is played off for laughs. Instead of fleshing out their character she's just a "bitchy woman" who makes fun of Moxxie for being fat for no reason.

Loona

All I wanted was for Loona to evolve and grow into a better character instead of her development either being off screen or ending in one episode. Her childish behavior and aggression is annoying to see because we really have no reason to like her. She's rude, hurts her supportive father and insults her colleagues. A few seconds of her backstory in Blitzø's perspective doesn't do much. Why don't we see how Loona is feeling in her eyes? Why do we need to understand Loona in a man's backstory?

Her lack of socializing could have been interesting to watch but it's all skipped over and established off screen proven by Sinmas despite it being essential to her character.

She's a survivor and making connections is obviously hard for her — yet we don't see her grow? It's all so quickly concluded. I doubt Vivian actually cares about Loona's development because she immediately becomes a respectful daughter to Blitzø after one episode (yes, I know he almost got executed and she probably realized how much she really cared. But Blitzø is an assassin and has probably nearly died multiple times).

Loona is just a nothing character, her writing is rushed and she pretty much just exists for merch bait. There's nothing special about her and her character was made for Blitzø's story.

Verosika

Not much to say about Verosika, other than she's a plot device. She's just a bitter ex and I don't understand why we should care or feel sympathetic towards her because she literally sexually assaults Moxxie with her friends (which is also played as a joke). She's just Blitzø's ex-girlfriend and that's about it.

I will give the writing credit for giving her perspective on the relationship, but she's only giving her piece for Blitzø and his development. Verosika just exists to taunt or help Blitzø — not act as an actual character. We don't even see Vortex talking about her whatsoever or even a hint of their dynamic.

She's angry, rude and swears like a sailor of course. Her anti-Blitzø party was hilarious because it was the worst written part of the show. Blitzø just hooked up with demons and didn't want anymore, yet Verisoka who is a popular popstar and succubi probably does the same thing and it's fine by the narrative.

The only true committed relationship Blitzø had with Verosika was with her so I'm not sure why they decided to villianize Blitzø for not wanting romance by making Verisoka an unhinged, creepy stalker who hunts down "ex-partners" for a former boyfriend who wanted to remain single.

She's just a pointless character, the fact we know more about her than Millie (a main character) is madness.

Barbie Wire

Where do I even begin? She's apparently the most important figure in Blitzø's life yet she's rarely mentioned, exists in one episode and that's it. Apparently she was cut out of the fire scene in Oops which is crazy considering their mother dies.

And again, she only exists because it's Blitzø's plotline. She's only brought up because of Blitzø and we don't even see her perspective on the matter. Even if she's a side character, if she's so important to Blitzø we should get a proper flashback with her; which we didn't even receive in The Circus.

Another bitter, angry woman to add to the list. There really is a pattern. Also her creepiness towards teenagers is also really weird. I just dislike her in general, what a waste. Nothing but a woman that's relevant when the man's development finds it necessary.

Other Women

-> A good chunk of the mothers in this show die for the men. Do we see their perspective? Do we see their character? No, they're just made to die off for the male characters because what else are they good for.

I find it really weird they try to show the personification of overindulgence to an unhealthy degree and a slave owner as a fun, spunky lady who just wants everyone to have fun! Beelzebub probably sold Vortex as property and signed him away, yet they're seen as a cute couple.

My Final Thoughts:

This show is sexist as fuck. And I'm tired of people excusing it. It doesn't matter if your show is male centered or focusing on men, you don't neglect your women and just make them exist for the male characters. I don't think Viv is some evil mastermind, but she needs to write characters better and understand women.

i keep thinking about that one bachelor au post so here's my take on it (i've never watched the bachelor or bachelorette so bear with me)

the bachelor au where steve's the bachelor and eddie is a contestant, but not because he actually wants to be, he's just in it for the paycheck. robin is also a contestant but only because her parents sent in her application without her knowing and she isn't out to them yet.

they both think that steve is overrated and definitely over hyped. typical rich kid with enough money to buy people's love, yada yada.

until they both start going on dates with him and then realize that it isn't exactly true. yes, he's rich, but he's also kind and funny and actually genuine once you get past the mask he puts on for everybody. eventually, eddie and robin find themselves looking forward to their dates.

only robin doesn't want to date him. he's slowly moving his way up the ranks to becoming her best friend, sure, but this is still tv. she's still expected to kiss him and confess her feelings for him. and when the time comes for her to do that, she can't.

they're in venice. steve is leaning in and robin is very aware of the cameras filming them. the back of her neck goes cold and her stomach churns and suddenly she's running in the opposite direction. her italian is passable so she ends up getting a taxi back to the hotel production put them in.

she locks herself in her en suite and presses her forehead against the cold porcelain. she doesn't know how long she sits there until her phone buzzes and she checks the notification. the nausea rises up her throat again. she forgot she gave steve her number.

there's a knock on her room door and another text.

r u ok? can i come in?

robin debates it but figures she owes him and explanation. she lets him in and they sit on the bathroom floor. robin tells him why she's on the show in the first place, about how she didn't know her parents signed her up until she got the phone call from the casting director. tells him that even if she gets kicked off, she can still use the money for her student loans.

she stares at the water in the toilet bowl when she comes out to him.

steve is quiet, processing, before he laughs. he's not laughing at her, he promises, but "robin. you're on a show with more than a handful of other queers, you know that, right? i'm bisexual."

and yeah, robin knew that, but it's different when you're not into the guy you're supposed to be romancing at all.

steve reassures her that it's okay, and that he still hopes they can be friends and keep in touch after the show ends.

robin would like that.

she apologizes to the production crew the next day and they're understanding and steve and robin get a re-do of their date. it's much more genuine this time, filled with laughs and digs as they eat gelato along the river and people watch and gossip.

it's the best robin's ever been on.

eddie, on the other hand. he's absolutely head over heels for steve, which is surprising even for him. he's trailer park trash, he's got absolutely nothing on steve harrington. not the name, not the money.

hell, the very first day, he insulted the guy's food choices right to his face without knowing it.

eddie wants the earth to give way underneath him and swallow him whole.

he plays it up on their first date, all fake niceties and empty smiles, until steve tells him point blank, "the guy that said the buffet was shit that first night? i want to get to know him."

eddie's flabbergasted.

steve opens up about all the fake people in his life, the ones who just take advantage of them and use him for their own gains. the ones who don't even bother to get to know the real him. the one that likes to play guitar and hang out with the gaggle of teenagers that follow him around all the time for some unknown reason.

he tells eddie about what he wants to do with his life, not what someone else has planned for him and eddie falls deeper and deeper.

this time, when steve leans in for a kiss, eddie doesn't shy away. their lips press together and it's the best goddamn kiss either one of them have ever had.

the show has a deadline, of course, and steve can't just spend all his time with eddie and robin. there are other contestants. robin knows her rose is strictly platonic and steve has already called her multiple times freaking out about his growing crush on eddie. she knows eddie has this in the bag.

the final night comes and the contestants have dwindled. there's only a small group of them left: eddie, robin, and another guy and girl they didn't bother learning the names of.

when steve chooses eddie after a moment of dramatic silence that kind of puts his own dm dramatics to shame, eddie doesn't hesitate to jump in steve's arms, wrap his legs around his waist, and plant a sloppy one on him right in front of the cameras.

The biggest byler proof to me is my mother's reaction to Mike and Will in s4 let me explain.

I was watching stranger things with my mom a few months ago and told her during s1 (I think) that Will was now confirmed to be gay. We continued watching til s4 and there comes the scene when the girl in Will and El's class touches Will's leg with her foot. I'm saying something like "yes make it even more obvious that he doesn't like girls !" (I'm trying to translate our conversation from french btw so that might not always be really understandable) my mom's reaction was.. interesting, to say the least.

She looked at me confused, looked at the screen again and finally opened her mouth and told me "It's not that obvious you know, are you even sure he is gay ??". She even looked like she was suspecting me of lying for some reason 😭. I told her that he was indeed really, fully and officially gay. And she was still not so sure about what I said.

That, I think, shows how oblivious she can be to queer coding, she isn't part of the LGBTQ+ community and isn't good at picking on hints of a romance starting. Keep in mind now that she still didn't believe that Will was not straight at the beginning of s4.

Now comes the scene in Will's room, Mike comes in when he "didn't really unpack" and sits on Will's bed, I'm starting to see a look of absolute confusion appearing on my mother's face. Her eyes still glued to the screen she opens her mouth to tell me "he is gay for him too 🤨". It didn't even come out as a question it was more like a confused affirmation.

So, she didn't believe Will was gay even after I told her and with all the hints during the first three seasons but just one look from Mike to Will in s4 was enough for her to believe byler was definitely an option and most likely happening.

Queerness In Ninjago (Spoiler alert, it's very queer)

I honestly don't see the queer side of Ninjago being talked about enough. Probably because half of the fandom are immature homophobic people but that's not gonna stop me writing a whole post about it on Tumblr that probably no one is gonna see. I'm gonna be looking at specific characters and at the canon part of it. I do have my own headcanons and stuff but I'm gonna try to forget about those for the sake of this post.

First, let's start out with a character who is almost 95% canon to be part of the LGBTQ+ community, Sally. She's a side character and doesn't play much of a role in the series after The Benefit of Grief but I feel like she's still worth mentioning. She has the progress pride flag on her guitar and the back of her dad's van which shows that she's definitely a supporter.

You can also see the bisexual flag on her guitar case, which tells us that she's bisexual! They don't do much about with it after this but it's still good to have some representation, even if it's not a big part of the story. This is probably the only instance where a character has had their sexual orientation shown in Ninjago.

The episode where we see her in the most, The Benefit of Grief, can be viewed as an allegory of coming out, which I touch more on here, but in case you're too lazy, I'll just explain how here. The basic premise of the episode is her running away from home because she wants to move to Ninjago City and get big in the music industry. However after a while she starts to feel guilty about it, but is afraid to go back in fear that her parents won't forgive her. With the help of Zane she makes the decision to go back home with her parents. Her parents forgive her and woo yay happy ending.

This episode can be taken as a coming out experience. Think about it. You hide your sexual orientation/gender identity from your family, friends, or others in your life. You feel guilty about it but also afraid to come out, out of fear that they won't accept you. It's a pretty good allegory. It most likely wasn't intentional but it will always be in my head because how can you write such a good allegory like that with a canon queer character as the main character and not calm it intentional? That's all that I have to say about Sally though.

Now let's get started with these 2 girlies. They competed in the Terra Technica Dance-Off in season 12, Prime Empire. They were heavily treated like a lesbian couple in the episode. So heavily that the episode got banned in a few places around the world. Tommy Andreasen said that it was up to the fans to decide so though it wasn't really confirmed it's heavily implied. They were only side characters so we don't get to see much of them after this episode but it shows how Lego will be willing to add some gay in the show.

I've been talking about sexual orientation for some time now it's time we talk about gender-queer characters (Gender-Queer is an umbrella label which applies to genders outside the male/female gender binary like non-binary, bigender, pangender, genderfluid, ect.) in Ninjago. One of the Algae Farmers in Dragons Rising have the Non-binary flag attached to them. The person who voices them (Niah Davis) Is also Non-binary. The character didn't have much of a role but it's still super cool to see. (I'm trans so of course I was so happy when I saw it being explicitly showed like this)

The Source Dragon of Life is also non-binary. Which is another character voiced by Niah Davis. The dragon uses they/them pronouns throughout the show and was later confirmed in a tweet. This character actually does play a big role in the series and is the source of Lloyd's power. (Which means Lloyd is non-binary too. /J) They'll also most likely have a big role in season 3 when that comes out. So is every character Niah Davis voices non-binary? Heck yeah!

Now these next 3 instances of queerness in Ninjago are very minor but they include 2 instances of 2 male characters kissing and a rainbow sidewalk. Now, some can argue that the sidewalk can be unrelated to the LGBTQ+ community but it was changed to be a white sidewalk in some places in the world, so it was very intentionally to be LGBTQ+. Some may also argue that the 2 male characters kissing can just be a man and a masculine woman but Ninjago very rarely adds masculine woman, so yes, it's like 99.9% 2 men kissing in both instances. Which isn't much but is still showing that Lego isn't afraid to add some gay in the show.

Now I wanna talk about Jay. Before I hear anyone talk about his relationship with Nya hear me out for a bit. Jay is heavily implied to also have an attraction to male characters which leads me to believe that he's probably a bisexual.

First, I want to talk about this clip. Out of context, it looks very much like a marriage proposal and Jay is saying yes with such a smile on his face. Now, it's just a fake marriage proposal and he realizes after and is kinda confused but anyways. What kind of straight man says "Yes! :D" like that to marriage proposal? (Side note: The Ying-Yang promise in Ninjago is not marriage. I'm just calling it marriage because it will make more sense. It's most likely engagement but that's too long to type) I mean, it seems like he really meant it. Which lead me to believe that he's probably a bisexual.

Also the whole Sweating to the Goldies short is very gay. He's very touchy towards Zane and dances with him and stuff. Though song on the end does include both of them but in the beginning it's mostly Jay doing the gay action. He's extremely flirty with Zane and seems to genuinely mean it. Now that's not me trying to say he likes Zane, since he obviously loves Nya, but I think if Nya wasn't an option, he wouldn't mind being with one of his ninja comrades.

He's also shown to be attracted to Nadakhan's voice. Calling it "beguiling." (Beguiling - Charming or enchanting, often in a deceptive way.) and also calling him a "Silky-voiced seducer." He's also the only ninja in the show to express how attractive his voice is which lead me to believe that he can be attracted to the voice of a male character. Of course, he's not attracted to Nadakhan himself, but acknowledging that he had an attractive voice is no doubt pretty gay. Which is another reason why I believe he's most likely bisexual.

Also another clip related to Kai, he calls him, "Kai baby." Which, c'mon, you don't just call your homies that. That's definitely a sign that he has no problem flirting with other men. Honestly, after season 7, he's been the most gay ninja of the group, despite being one of the only ones having a girlfriend. (Zane was also one of the only ninja to have a girlfriend at the time too but Zane isn't as gay as him) Now if I'm gonna do a little theorizing here, but I think that he's not at peace with his sexual orientation and is now willing to tease and flirt with the other ninja. I know I said I'd keep my headcanons out of this but I'd call it a theory more than a headcanon. (Edit: I, for some reason, can't upload a clip of it so you get a picture of it instead sorry. XD)

Jay is also just 10 times more touchy than the other ninja. A straight male would normally not be comfortable with this amount of touch from their male friend but Jay doesn't mind. He's pretty chill with it and treats it like it's an everyday thing. Which is very very gay. And sure, they're his friends and they've lived together for basically half of their lives but I've lived with my sister for all of my life and she's not even comfortable with me hugging her without permission (or really anyone) so yeah this kind of touch isn't very straight.

And since we're in the topic of Jay, I want to talk about the most villainous and evil character of Ninjago, FugiDove! He's very touchy towards Jay in the series and even sacrificed himself just to save him. He calls Jay is wingman and wants to be with him a lot. Which is very big implications of FugiDove being gay. And the writers of the show aren't stupid they know what they're doing. So all of these little things are definitely implications of him being gay. Which also applies to Jay and Cole.

Speaking of Cole, yes, it's finally time we talk about him. All throughout the show Cole doesn't have a love interest. All of the Ninja had one (Jay with Nya, Zane with Pixal, Kai with Skylor) and yet, he hasn't had one. Some may argue that he liked Nya in season 3 but it's confirmed in this tweet that he was just confused by the attention and never really had a crush on her. Some can also claim that he had a crush on Vania but their interactions don't seem very romantic. More like a friendship kind of interaction.

Now, in Dragons Rising we finally see some sort of actual romance with him. He basically raised a whole family with Geo and has a very strong connection with him. They're very close, and you have to remember that Geo is kinda shy and scared to open up to others, and he's pretty vulnerable to Cole. They're also touchy and don't seem to mind it, which leads me to believe that he might some sort of attraction to Geo, a male character. Also Doc Wyatt seems to support a relationship between the 2. So if it became canon, it wouldn't shock me honestly.

Also the episode where Cole finds his true potential is literally an allegory for coming out. I explain it here but I'll explain it again here for the people who are too lazy. Basically the whole episode is him trying his best to hide his identity of a ninja to his father since his father wanted him to be a dancer. Later in his dad find out and is pretty mad at him but after a whole performance and stuff he's accepting of his son and yay they're a happy family. (Watch the episode here I'm bad at explaining.)

Now, if you think about it, it's very much like coming out. He's hiding his identity out of fear that his father won't accept him as his son. He comes out to his father as a ninja and his father is upset about that. Now flip Ninja with the word gay and bam you get the perfect coming out story coming from Lego. I don't think it was intentional but it could very much be as well. Again, the writers aren't stupid. They know what they're doing. So yeah, I view this episode as an allegory for coming out.

So, yeah, Ninjago is pretty queer. There's a few more examples I wanted to show but then it would be way too long and it's already 11:15PM. Anyways, if you want to sum up everything I'm saying, Ninjago isn't afraid to add some queer representation in the show, Jay is bisexual, and Cole is gay. Or that I'm an overthinker who loves yapping I dunno. And before anyone gets mad, this is going based of the canon. I'd like to think of it as building a headcanon based on canon. You can still have your own headcanons. I honestly don't care. Anyways, if you're still here thank you for staying until the end and reading the thoughts I've had in my head for a while.

Visual Analysis: Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island

As I watched the first episodes of Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island (SHOTLI), I kept wracking my brain about what the show's lush and intimate visuals evoked for me. When the main characters referenced the famous gay artist David Hockney, I finally realized that like Hockney, SHOTLI uses various cinematography techniques to create a sense of closeness with its characters that invites viewers to not only witness but participate in queer life. Through the show's visual storytelling, we too experience the beautiful ache of our characters' queer awakening and desire.

For example, look at how our main character, Xiao Zhi, is introduced:

Xiao Zhi is visiting his older brother who currently works as a camp counselor on a secluded island. He is young but unapologetic about his sexuality even if he feels conflicted about being attracted to his brother's seemingly straight friend, Chen Li. Actor Hu Yi Chen plays his character with an interesting languidness, as if Xiao Zhi is already at ease with his identity

I think it's notable then that the first shot we see of Xiao Zhi when he wakes up on the island is that of his naked back. His body fills the frame, the focus on his smooth skin and the curves of his body. And yet the shot doesn't feel voyeuristic or exploitative--there's a participatory element to the camera's framing as if we're sharing the bed with him. He’s laid bare to us, and we’re made to know him and be with him.

This intimacy of the show’s framing choices (particularly through its shot sizes and use of space) immerses us in the magnetic pull between Xiao Zhi and Chen Li, each glimpse and touch of skin taking on new and increasingly queer meaning.

(Side Note: I loved the detail of Xiao Zhi taking a bath and caressing his legs in the same spot where Chen Li had touched him earlier.)

But what I most appreciate about the show's visual storytelling is how it uses color and the island's sumptuous landscape.

One of the fundamental characteristics of Hockney's work, which we also see in SHOTLI, was his vibrant depiction of mundane moments in gay life. Whether painting men hanging out in swimming pools, showering, or just going about their lives, he would do so with fantastical colors and experimental compositions. By pairing bold imagery with everyday subjects, he captured the inherent rebellion of queer pleasure, and invited viewers into it.

In SHOTLI, the island's vivid greens create a dream-like atmosphere, the meandering gaze of the camera imbuing each scene with the feeling of being suspended in time, nothing and everything happening all at once in the quiet. As viewers, this magical feeling is both heady and unsettling, a perfect metaphor for the character’s own journeys where queer joy comes from burning the withered parts of themselves that no longer feel true.

Now Nicole I wasn't going to touch, but then I realized she was in my comments being really crazy just the day ago so it's my due diligence to have to call her out too because Miss Nicole I know about you I've seen the receipts and you are certifiable. This is her in my comments because I dared called Pedro an ally, and from what I've seen she goes in other people's comments and does the same thing if you call him an ally or anything that's not involving queer in the sentence.

Her obsession with the community is a little bit out of hand because why is a straight girl going into Lgbtqia safe spaces and being the most annoying mouth breather. Nicole why are you in a gay reddit taking up all the space speaking about Pedro and a lot of these things are from his deleted blog that you have no problem exposing. that's not really what a fan does that's what a mean girl does do you even like Pedro?

I am a MosBank Truther!

I do not hate all fan service. I think it's good to see men casually touch each other in public AND get paid to do it. And the reason is because homegirl casually drops sex jokes and snappy quips into the conversation, so guests must be on their toes to keep up.

AND MOSBANK CAME PREPARED!

Bank and Mos already know Eclair. Bank knows her from college, and Mos knows her from mutual friends *cough* Bank *cough* so they got down to business quick, and by business, I mean dick jokes. They are making deep-fried shrimp sushi, so Bank immediately holds the cucumber to size it up, and Eclair jumps into Bank's blowjob skills after briefly discussing how many shrimp are in the meal. +2 for talking about oral sex five minutes in.

This prompts Bank to sing "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid (in English) because it ties into the discussion of the ingredients needed for the meal (shrimp, seaweed, salmon) and blowjobs. No points given because even though Bank can sing, Ariel doesn't deserve to take strays about blowjobs.

Mos discloses that Bank's family owns a durian farm, so the queer movie of the moment The Paradise of Thorns gets mentioned, but Bank throws in his critique that they are more like The Paradise of Scorns. +2 for Bank's wittiness and Mos' sensible chuckle

As the conversation continues, both men confess that they hated school, but Bank is the smarter one on paper ONLY because he knew he wanted to be an actor and didn't want to appear dumb, so he got tutoring to get rid of his country accent and up his grades, while Mos only got his grades up because his mom sent him to an all-boys school in Bangkok 💀 Eclair is surprised because she thinks Bank plays up the "dumb-blonde" persona, and they joke that's a good thing because he can get away with it. +6 for Mos and his all-boy school

And then we get into the domesticity! Mos and Bank have randomly mentioned they live together throughout the years, so Eclair starts asking questions about their home life. Mos likes to do the chores. Bank likes to shop.

Eclair thinks Bank would feel guilty for not helping Mos with the chores, but both men correct her that Mos likes doing these things, and if Mos was her boyfriend, he'd gladly do it for her too. +10 because Bank does not cook nor does he clean, but he got that ring!

Because Mos seems too perfect to be true, Bank throws him under the bus and admits it bothers him that Mos doesn't say he loves people or misses them NOT EVEN HIS PARENTS OR FAMILY! -2 only because Bank brings this up every year in their Valentine's Day videos, and Mos still is tight-lipped.

But he quickly recovers because he says Mos isn't a man of too many words and actually shows his love through actions, like buying him a Celine bag and other stuff that he cannot mention even though Eclair pressures him to share. No points given

Eclair asks if either one of them gets upset easily, but specifically targets Bank since he is known for having an attitude in their travel videos when he is hungry or tired. +2 to Eclair for being shady

Once they sit down to enjoy the meal that Mos has basically single-handedly made for them, the conversation gets sad when Bank mentions he just wants a good life for his parents and how he misses his grandma, who was his biggest supporter but died during the pandemic so he didn't get to see her before she passed.

It's a heavy moment, but Eclair spins it and asks Mos if he has any sad tales to tell, to which Bank immediately answers that Mos' family is nothing but happy vibes and good times. +1 for the look exchanged between Bank and Eclair because people who have happy families make us all a little sick.

Eclair latches on to the fact that Bank answered the question about Mos' family, and Mos casually responds that Bank would know because he has met his family, several times, since he goes home with Mos, each time. +4 because this is the domesticity that has me convinced they are already married since they are holding hands under the table.

From the way Mos is talking, it's clear the boys stay AT his parents' house when they visit, so Eclair asks if Mos' mom ever hears them.

Mos, in a serious voice, instantly replies that they are quiet.

Bank bursts into laughter, but Eclair isn't done and wants to know what quiet things are done quietly, so Mos offers the only acceptable answer - "Whatever Bank wants" +100 points for Mos being perfect

The conversation gets back to the original point of Bank visiting Mos' family and the guys talk about the first time Bank went home with Mos. The aunties were aflutter when they saw Bank with Mos and because Mos comes from a small community, the entire village practically knew before they even got to the house.

They even recreate the aunties on the street breaking their necks to get a glimpse of Mos' rich boy. +3 for the way the boys deliver it

Everywhere they went, people would already know who Bank was because the chisme was running rampant! +2 because the boys are telling the hell out of this story and they are telling it TOGETHER, like both are telling it at the same time. It's glorious!

And since we understand that they were staying AT the parents' house, it seems as if they were also staying in the same room since Grandpa came to collect them once aunties started standing outside of the house wanting to take pictures with them. +2 since Mos is thrilled that Bank was so popular with his people

After the story, Eclair puts on her business cap and opens the door for the guys to talk about their various projects and socials, but the lady is a professional who can turn anything into a sex joke.

MosBank have a YouTube channel called Mong Biew which is a play on their names, but Eclair asks if it's a play on "Bong Biew" which apparently means tilted, and at first I thought she was making a straight/gay joke, but nope! It's a dick joke because Mos proudly declares that it's straight!

And I'm giving Mos another +100 points because this kid gets it! I thought Bank was going to easily steal the show, while Mos was busy cooking, but Mos is just as quick and snappy with his comebacks. He isn't just a Instagram thirst trap! The boy's got moxie!

Because this is still business, the guys give their product placement spiel for an anti-bloat mix, Air-X, and Eclair quickly turns capitalism on its head when she gets Bank to admit he farted on set during one of his romantic scenes with Mos. +4 points to Eclair for making a product placement hilarious and getting the chisme!

And the show wraps up with Eclair giving Air-X another spotlight as she states it's the second item Bank would pack for a trip AFTER HE PACKS CONDOMS!

aziraphale's relationship with heaven vs crowley's relationship with hell in S2 serves as this beautiful, heartbreaking metaphor for the choice that so many queer people with unaccepting - and in many cases abusive - families find themselves forced to make. crowley has made the leap. he's cut himself off, and when they've tried to stay in touch or even bring him back, he's always resisted. "we're better than that, you're better than that!". in a way he's been through it before - he was rejected by heaven, and so it makes sense to him to take the opportunity to reject hell on his own terms. it doesn't come without consequence, of course. so many queer people find themselves having to suppress their identities until they're financially independent - cut to crowley living in his car. but he's made the choice, and he's free to do his own thing now. aziraphale, at the start of the season, is also more or less completely separate from heaven; we know from crowley "they don't talk to him anymore", and he's not making any effort to get in touch with them. but then when they ask him to come back, they manipulate him again. the metatron offers him coffee and then tells him "i've ingested things in my time, you know" - a world away from gabriel's "why do you consume... that?". he's assured that the things which he thought made him too... different, too not-good for heaven, are in fact okay. aziraphale was finally living his own life, far away from them, and doing the things he enjoyed, the things that they always shamed him for. but now he thinks, maybe he can go back and this time they'll accept him - it doesn't have to be like it was before! he's changed and maybe they have too, and if they haven't then maybe they'll listen to him! he can show them how to be better, he can make a difference. he isn't yet ready to face the reality that he can never be the person (well, angel) that they want him to be, not without losing sight of what makes him him. he might wish he could bring himself to say no, to cut them off, but he can't do it. because despite it all, he still has hope that they can change. and of course he does - years of trauma have told him time and time again that they're the good guys, after all. so he thinks, if they can't change, then who can? if they can't accept him, who will?

My menstrual cycle is acting up and making my brain focus on weird things. So let's talk about...

Interspecies sex!

One of the fun things you get to explore when writing a fantasy story with a lot of non-human people, especially if they're also from different evolutionary roots and not related at all.

Like what does it even mean for a primate to be sexually attracted to an amphibian? How does that happen? How do all these different people species view sexuality? How do they feel about interspecies intercourse? It's a fascinating subject!

Especially if you're like me, asexual and autistic with a special interest in fantasy biology and culture and a detached scientific fascination for the concept of sex through the lens of fiction.

I have been writing many different relationship dynamics in my own project, including some interspecies relationships and a lot of queer characters.

Some of my people species are, by nature, somewhat asexual. Whether it's a seasonal thing or a full time thing.

Drow: the majority of drow, aside from the "males", are asexual by default! Those who become matriarchs may suddenly find themselves experiencing sexual attraction for the first time during their secondary puberty, which can be confusing and overwhelming, but they may also remain asexual and simply participate in sex because the duty of a matriarch is to bear children.

Quetzalin: for about half the year, all adult quetzalin are functionally asexual due to a natural hormone change. But during courting season, the majority of adult quetzalin do feel sexual attraction, and they feel it quite strongly! The flip from no sexual attraction and a low libido to high sexual attraction and a high libido can be overwhelming, so the qurtxalin have actually developed some fairly well advanced hormone treatments to make it easier.

Goblins: similar to quetzalin, goblins only feel sexual attraction for part of the year, but for them it's a rather spontaneous short-term burst of both attraction and libido that leads to a big group orgy at the nursery ponds, driving them to lay and fertilize thousands of eggs.

Pixies: since they are basically giant bees, the majority of pixies do not feel sexual attraction at all, ever. Sexual desire really only shows up in the hive mothers and their short-lived mates.

So with all these people who experience such a lack of attraction and/or a lack of libido, you might expect them to avoid sex, especially outside their own species groups. Perhaps you expect them to be a little more open to interspecies sex only when they're in a seasonal libido wave.

And yet, the least likely group, pixies, show an odd fascination for sex with people of other species. What could draw a sapient bee towards sex? They find it entertaining. They like to watch, and they like the way other people react to being touched. And much to their own surprise and delight, there are vertebrate people who will gladly have sex with pixies! There are all sorts of people; elves, orcs, even goblins, who think the idea of letting pixies crawl on their naked bodies is very sexy. It helps that pixies can vibrate their abdomens and that they're roughly the size of an elf's penis.

Goblins and quetzalin outside of their own courting/mating seasons may not feel attraction or a clear libido, but that doesn't stop them from having sex with people of other species all year round if they want it. And they both have bodies that are covered in unique textures; feathers on the quetzalin and mucus on the goblins. Even if the goblin mucus can carry toxins, depending on their diet, it's usually only going to create a tingling numb feeling, which some potential sex partners might find even more arousing.

And while the average cavern drow are almost invariably asexual, a lot of them will curiously explore sex while spending a few years living outside as young adults.

And the far more allosexual minstrel drow have been participating in interspecies sex and running diverse sex work establishments for hundreds of years.

Given the presence of real life humans who have the hots for increasing bizarre non human fictional characters and monstrous creatures, I'm sure I don't have to explain why it's possible for people to find themselves attracted to partners outside their own species, or why they might find sex with other people species to be enjoyable. The differences between their species may very well be the traits that draw them to each other and make the sex more fun and exciting.

Whether it is inherently kinky or not is up to the individual I suppose! But when the pixies organize mutual research exchanges with vertebrate people and ask for volunteers to let the pixies study vertebrate sexual pleasure, I'm sure they have to account for sample bias as the people who sign up are very likely to be into a variety of kinks and therefore have different tolerances and may show different reactions compared to someone who doesn't get involved in kink.

And then of course, on the flip side of all this, it must be considered that historically, and frankly even contemporarily, there have been and always will be people who view interspecies sex with a sour look on their face. It could be the product of bigotry, more often than not. Certainly if there are actual cultural and legal taboos agaisnt it, that can be attributed to interspecies bigotry.

But it's also possible that some people's sexuality simply does not extend to those outside their own species group. It may even be that interspecies attraction is considered more queer than simply being gay or attracted to multiple genders.

I think I'm running out of things to say.
