Clarisse la rue x demigod!fem!reader
warning: slight bullying fluff doesn't make much sense sorry
Tumblr media
you and Clarisse were never really on good terms you never but you really liked Clarisse for a long time but you knew someone like her would never love you always were reminded of it and of course, it hurts.
you were walking to archery class your hair in a messy bun some bits of your beautiful y/h/c your glasses almost about to fall off your face and then you suddenly bump into somebody your glasses fell off your face.
"Sorry... uhm I didn't... I didn't mean..." You looked for your glasses when you found them you put them on, looking up at the person
"finally found them four-eyes?" she said snickering 'oh my gods Clarisse?!' "Next time watch where you are going, okay? we wouldn't want me to step on your glasses?" she rudely shoved you out of her way while her pretty annoying fucking smirk still snickered while walking away with her friends.
you felt like your heart could break right there it felt upsetting, but you sighed "Whatever." angrily walking away but that anger quickly turned into pain as the days went by.
then it happened again maybe it was you, but you felt exhausted maybe because you'd been awake all night doing your homework you never liked staying up late because it always made you uncomfortable and emotional like always you kept to yourself not really feeling like being noticed today.
at break, Clarisse always had a knack for picking on you she sat right next to you "Hey, there four eyes" she said smiling how annoying but to you her smile was everything it was your most loved thing about her.
"What is it, Clarisse...?" you said slightly anxious a tired you had bags under your eyes feeling heavy like you were carrying the weight of the world.
"don't talk to me like that," she said annoyed by your attitude.
"oh, I'm sorry Your Highness," you said mockingly, and then getting up to walk away.
"ugh, annoying nerd.." she said sighing, Clarisse does like you she just has a very annoying way of showing it.
Tumblr media
the teacher who teaches archery told you that you needed someone to tutor you about how to hold your bow you hated the archery she always criticized your skills in archery.
then you hear Clarisse speak as she walks closer to you "Is this who you wanted me to teach, Mrs.?"
you groaned in pain, slightly uncomfortable because you actually liked her it's just imagine having to be tutored by your crush, "why does it, have to be her." you said quietly.
"y/n, Clarisse is the best person on the battlefield with any weapon you should be happy to be tutored by her so stop being ungrateful," she responded annoyed at your comment before walking away.
Clarisse walked closer to you, snickering looking you in your eyes lifting your chin to look at her as she was taller than you "Yeah well, I guess you are stuck with me for now, four-eye".
you groaned a rolled your eyes pushing her away softly "You are literally the devil in disguise." looking away and blushing looking away.
"Whatever, I know you love me~," she said walking away "Oh, and meet me here next week on Monday in the morning when I practice my archery not that I need to, but you know," she said with such confidence.
you knew she wasn't entirely wrong you really did like her.
Tumblr media
next week on Monday you went to where you had to meet up with Clarisse to see her training already you had never seen someone train so early in the morning.
"Finally, you here, what took you so long?" she said annoyed flipping her hair back.
you rolled your eyes annoyed "What are you talking about I was only 1 minute late." you said with an angelic voice.
"Well, that's a minute of my time wasted on you." in a soft tone as if she didn't really mean it, that's because she really didn't to her she could spend her time with you all the time, she freed up her time for you she had some errands to run today but she didn't do them because it would mess up her meet up.
"mhm? I thought this was supposed to be you teaching me how to "master the art of archery" or is it just a way for you to talk down on me?." you said with sarcasm in the last sentence.
"Whatever, just get your bow out," she said smiling softly at you.
as you get to training you point your arrow trying but always ending up missing your sigh, you knew the teacher was right, but you hate being told that a hundred times with you feel a tight
Clarisse observed how you wielded the bow a grinned as she walked up behind you "Just hold the bow like this, not like you holding a baseball bat." then she shot the arrow while holding your hands it didn't miss the target.
"you are not that bad, as I was hoping you would be~," you said with a grin that was when started becoming softer to you.
you two secretly hung out at night one of those nights you and Clarisse were in her cabin sitting next to each other just talking and laughing "Hey, Clarisse we need to talk seriously though..."
she looked confused a concerned "Hmm? Okay, what happened are you hurt?" shit she just said that.
"no, but i do have something to tell you, clarisse" you took a deep breath in a out "you no what never mind, i should go its getting pretty late anyway" you said awkwardly getting up to leave
she looked confused then she quickly grabbed your hand "wait! don't go..." she said before you went.
"What is it, Clarisse?" you said concerned at her suddenly with a very concerned face because you thought what a mess you've gotten yourself into you said still going to leave until you heard clarisse speak.
"y/n, the truth is that I distanced from you because I love you!.." she covered her mouth can't believe she said that she looked away embarrassed.
"really?.." you said softly walking over to sit next to her "do you really like a nerd like me?.." you said turning her chin to look at you.
Clarisse sat silently and sighed "why wouldn't I not love you?, your perfect to your head to the tip of your toes, I don't ever want to hear you say that about yourself." She said softly holding your hand "that's why I love you your personality your looks your everything.." using her free hand to caress your face
The warmth of her words was like heaven and earth combined the way the sunlight shines on her face the way the light highlights her hair with such grace is like a beauty yet to be discovered "I love you too, clarisse I love the way the sunlight shines on your beautiful face and hair." You said with an angelic voice kissing her cheek.
Clarisse smiled softly, "I would want nothing less than to be with you as well, my sweet heart." She said with such kindness her heart felt in peace.
Tumblr media
Bonus!!!
You and clarisse were walking around with each other everyone knew that you belonged to her "clarisse I'm so tired of walking maybe we should just sit down my feet hurt."
Clarisse scoffed "well then I'll just carry you!" She said happily
You scoffed "you can't carry me!" But then she picked you up bridal style whilst some of the girls stared in jealousy "what did you, say?"
"whatever." You said annoyed then she started giggling.

(name) had moved away to from hyogo to miyagi halfway into his first year of highschool, but he quickly adjusted to his new school. sure, going from a school that frequented nationals to a former powerhouse is a large change of pace, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle! especially when the first years seemed full of potential.
so when his team finally got a chance to go to nationals, you can bet that the first person (name) told was his boyfriend, atsumu. several misspelled messages were sent in all caps, only prompting a reply of ‘???’, to which (name) responded back with ‘WPN GAME. GO NATONALS.’
atsumu understood that at least. and honestly? he was ecstatic. he gets to see his boyfriend play? and maybe even play against him? he was teeming with excitement at the thought. and the idea of beating (name) sounded pretty appealing.
but that was before their match together. that was before the ball had narrowly escaped his teammates fingertips. that was before inarizaki had lost the game.
(names) eyes were glued to the ball as he watched his friend fail to get it up. the ball hit the floor. the team erupted into cheers. (name) latched onto the closest player to him— which happened to be tanaka— shaking him by the shoulders vigorously. they won. he couldn't keep the grin off of his face.
seeing how he hadn't had a chance to see atsumu until their match, (name) had split off from the rest karasuno to find him. eventually, (name) found him by a vending machine.
“‘tsumu! hey!” (name) called, running over. atsumu glanced up.
“hey, love.”
atsumu was engulfed in a hug, his boyfriend's arms wrapped snug around his neck. he faltered for a moment, before returning the hug.
“can't believe we won, ‘tsumu! it's freakin’ crazy! gosh, i knew hinata was a lil’ freak, but he really stepped up this game. did’ya see ‘im receive aran-kun’s spike? that was incredible!” (name) rambled on and on, not noticing the bitter look on atsumu's face.
“yeah, it was pretty cool,” he huffed. “congrats, (name).”
maybe it was because (name) wouldn't shut up about how great his teammates were, or how he was so overjoyed with his win, but something about it made atsumu’s stomach churn. there was a bitter feeling in the pit of his stomach.
“‘tsumu? you okay?” (name) asked, eyebrows furrowed. apparently his response sounded more sarcastic than genuine.
“yeah. why wouldn't i be? m’team jus' lost at nationals.” atsumu scoffed, shoving his hands into his pockets.
“. . .okay, sorry. could ya at least not be all pissy ‘bout it if your boyfriend won?” (name) said.
“i’ll jus' leave, then, if you're really gonna take it personally,” he scoffed.
“maybe ya should.” atsumu retorted. god, he was acting like a child.
(name) stared at atsumu for a moment, before turning around. “. . .fuckin' hell, ‘tsumu.” he groaned quietly, walking off to rejoin his team.
atsumu watched as his boyfriend walked off. ‘shit.’ he kicks the vending machine, a loose can rattling down. he picked it up through the slot.
it was (name's) favorite flavor.

“I shouldn’t have let her go out there.”
Fu watched the school nurse, Angela, fret as she paced back and forth.
“I understand your concern, but I believe that it will all be alright. Ladybug and Chat Noir haven’t failed in handling an akuma yet,” he explained. “The girl will be okay.”
The nurse stopped pacing.
“I appreciate your optimism but… I am really not used to this,” She said as she gestured to the air.
Fu blinked at the statement.
“Oh?”
“This! This whole thing! Super villains that appear whenever someone gets sad, teenagers with superpowers! This is all new to me! I just moved to Paris a month ago from the countryside. All I wanted was to further my education and get work in the medical field. It… It boggles my mind that everyone in this city is so okay with all of this! Even my new boyfriend Curtis is able to shrug off an akuma attack like a sudden drizzle. This isn’t normal!”
The guardian could tell the young woman was distressed, and he couldn’t blame her. In a way, he envied her. This was all foreign for her, but to him, this was his entire life.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to blow up like that. I've had a lot to deal with, and this whole situation is just so…”
Fu moved to her and helped her sit down.
“It’s alright, this is by no means a good situation. Your concerns are very understandable. I can tell that deep down that your frustration and fear come from compassion and empathy. You will make a wonderful doctor one day.”
She took a deep breath.
“Thank you. You have no idea how much I really needed to hear that today.”
“How about I teach you a medication technique that will help you calm down?”
“Meditation? I'm not really one for that kind of stuff.”
“If one wants to be a doctor, being able to calm down and handle an emergency situation is a must.”
The school nurse agreed that he had a good point, and that this may help get her mind off of things.
“Okay, I guess I'll give it a shot.”
Fu smiled.
“Good. Let us start simple. Close your eyes and put your hands together.”
Angela felt the action was a bit odd but complied.
“Now, take a deep breath. Count to 5 in your head and then breathe out.”
She took her breath and followed the order.
“Whenever you feel a thought come to your head, simply picture yourself putting it out of your mind and into a bucket.”
She tried her best to comply.
As she did this, Fu moved behind her and quickly pinched a nerve on her neck, causing the young woman to seize up for a moment before losing consciousness.
“That will help her relax.”
He carefully moved her to the cot and laid a sheet over her like a blanket.
Once it was clear that she was asleep, a turtle kwami flew out of hiding.
“So, what do we do now, Master?”
Fu took a moment to consider.
His plan was already in motion. Ladybug and Chat Noir had plenty of allies to help fight the akuma. All that needed to be done was to sit down and wait.
But as he thought about it more, he couldn’t help but think that he should go in personally. It was what he'd initially planned to do with akuma, after all. Listening to this young woman’s fears made him really see how his inaction has led to such fear and uncertainty.
For once, it was time for him to go on the offensive.
“Now we head out and find this akuma.”
“Master, you already sent out three miraculous. Let the other heroes handle this,” Wayzz insisted.
“The people of Paris should not have to become used to this. I have been far too lax with this situation. Right now, Ladybug and Chat Noir are facing their most dangerous akuma yet. For decades I have always remained passive in order to avoid making another mistake, but I have already made so many with my inaction. It's time I stop letting my actions be dictated by fear.”
“But Master, you can’t transform! Your body is too old to handle it!”
“Fear not, Wayzz. I have been exercising and restoring my vitality with the techniques of the guardians. By my estimation, I should be able to maintain the transformation without too much issue for 10 minutes,” Fu assured.
“That is not a lot of time, Master!” Wayzz pointed out.
“True, but it is better than nothing. We will head out and wait for the moment we need it. Be ready, Wayzz.”
The old guardian started heading to the door.
“But Master, what if you get captured? What if the akuma does succeed and you are unable to step in?”
Fu paused at the door.
“I know you are concerned for me. I appreciate your care. But I need to go out there. I have lived a long life, Wayzz, far longer than most humans. One day I may not be here to be the guardian.”
Wayzz felt a pang of sorrow hearing his Master talk about how he would no longer be around.
“But that’s okay. I know that when that time comes… I have two young heroes that will be ready to stand up and fight. The best thing an old man like me can do is pave the road for them.” The guardian said with certainty. He went to open the door.
“Fu…”
The old man stopped. Turning around, he saw the turtle kwami he had known for most of his life smile at him.
“I know you think of yourself as a failure of a guardian… but Su Han and the others were wrong. You are a great one. You are the most caring guardian that has ever held the title. And I will be by your side to the end.”
The old man felt his eyes well up at the sweet comment.
“Then let’s go, Partner.”
___________________________________________________________________________
The dragon heroine grabbed the confused snake hero and moved him to the closest room before closing the door.
“Okay we should be safe here,” she said as she looked over to her comrade. It was clear that Viperion was still very confused. It did not help that both his and her miraculous were beeping. They didn't have much time.
“Thanks… ummm,” Viperion started as he tried to rack his brain for a name. Part of him felt like he should know her. But his mind is blank.
“Ryuuko. You can call me Ryuuko. And you are Viperion.”
“Okay… weird name for me, but I guess it works.”
Ryuuko realized that the bubble Viperion had been put in wasn’t just to keep him frozen in place. One of the side effects must have been leaving him without any memory of who he was. Had her partner been aware of that risk when he took the bubble for her? She couldn’t know for sure. But right now, she needed to focus on the task at hand. Shehad to take charge since her partner was out of sorts.
“Okay, 'll try to explain this as quickly as possible.”
“Your real name is Luka. But when you are in your hero form, you go by Viperion.”
“Hero form...”
He looked down.
“Well, that does explain the costumes. I thought it was some sort of weird costume party.”
Ryuuko decided to ignore that.
“Okay, so I'm a hero. And you're one too?”
“Yes. We are both heroes picked by Ladybug to help her fight villains. Right now, we're fighting a bunch of them, and you got your memory wiped by one of their attacks. That’s why you are confused. Any questions?”
The boy took a moment to look himself over and then look at her. This was a lot of information to take in. Ryuuko was half expecting him to call her crazy. Which, given how bizarre the circumstances were, she wouldn’t blame him.
“Okay, I think if it was anyone else telling me this, I would have called it a load of bull. But… I don’t know why but I feel like I can trust you. You sound sincere,” Viperion responded.
“Okay great, now let's…”
“I still have a few questions.”
Ryuuko sighs.
“Look, we really don’t have much time. We need to hurry and get out there to help…”
And just before she finished the statement, both of their transformations wore off. Revealing their civilian forms.
“Oh no.” Kagami muttered in horror.
“What happened? Where am I… What am I?” The snake kwami questioned as he looked at himself.
“It appears that Sass was also impacted by the amnesia.” The dragon kwami that popped out of her necklace commented.
Luka stared wide eyed at the creature.
“Are you a snake?”
“A snake? I suppose?”
“A snake with limbs? That is very rock and roll.”
The two fistbumped. Thankfully they seemed to get along.
Longg looked at them.
“This is quite a predicament.”
“We need to hurry back in. Longg! Bring the….”
“Hold on a moment. Both Sass and I will not be able to do that yet.”
Kagami stopped.
“How come?”
“We need to refuel. The energy of transforming AND using our unique powers drains a lot out of us. We need some food to continue.”
“Food… Okay.”
The snake Kwami grabbed his stomach.
“I find myself rather famished,” he commented.
Luka looked at him.
“Let me see if I can help you out.”
The teen took off the backpack he was wearing to go through it. Thankfully there was a bag lunch in there. For some reason he felt that was important. But decided that if it could help the little guy out, he was sure it wouldn’t be a big deal.
He opened the bag lunch and pulled out a bag of apple slices. Opening it to grab a piece.
“I know snakes usually are carnivores, but how about some fruit?”
“Ooo! It smells divine!”
Luka handed the floating kwami a piece of the apple.
He takes a bite.
“Oh! It's delicious! Juicy and sweet!”
The snake quickly devours the apple piece.
As that happens, Kagami looked through her bag.
“I don’t have fruit but I do have some onigiri. It was my afternoon snack… but since this is a dire situation.”
“Rice? Yes please!” Longg exclaimed as he dive bombed right into the delicious rice ball.
“It’s Umeboshi, it’s not to everyone’s taste but It is one of my favorites.”
“It’s the most delicious thing I have ever eaten. The sour plum really brings a new dimension of flavor.”
Kagami smiled a bit at her kwami companion, happy that she could help.
The two Kwami finished their food and were ready for action.
“Okay, Sass. You need to help Luka transform.”
“Sass? Is that my name?” the snake inquired.
“So, he helps me transform into Viperman?”
“Viperion, and yes,” Kagami responded.
“All you need to do is say. Sass, Scales Slither. And to activate your special power just pull your bracelet back and say second chance. Then pull it back when you want to use it. But be sure not to use it right away,” Longg instructed.
“Okay seems easy enough. Are you okay with this?” Luka asked as he turned his attention to his snake pal.
“The floating horn snake seems fine with it so I say let’s give it a try”
Longg decided for the sake of his friendship with Sass to ignore the comment.
“Alright! Let's do this!” Kagami exclaimed as she prepared to transform.
“One last question.”
Kagami was starting to get antsy. She wanted to be back out there fighting. But she held back her annoyance, considering how he sacrificed his memories for her.
“Make it quick, we need to hurry.”
Luka scratches the back of his head.
“Are we a couple?”
If Kagami was drinking water she would have done a massive spit take. Her cheeks turned red.
“What?!”
“You know… together? You seem to know a lot about me, and I just feel this connection... like I can trust you even though I don’t remember anything. I don’t know how or why, but I feel like you matter to me.”
Kagami’s eyes went wide at the comment. It felt surprisingly bold of the musician to say. She had to admit that the statement made her heart skip a beat.
“No, we had just recently become friends.” Kagami responded.
“Oh…” Luka was saddened by the response.
“But, I have thought about the possibility it could be more than that one day," Kagami continued. "But that is something to discuss when you have your memory back. Maybe.”
The fencer felt her mind scream at her.
‘WHY DID YOU SAY THAT! Well, at least he won't remember.’
Luka smiled at that.
“Well, that must mean I must be a good guy, if I could have such a great friend like you.”
The teen prepared himself.
“Alright then! Sass! Scales Slither.”
The musician shifted into his hero form.
“Let’s go save the day.”
Kagami looked at her hero partner and smiled.
“Longg, Bring the storm.
______________________________________________________________________
“Well, that might be a problem.”
Chat Noir and Ladybug looked to see a stone giant guarding the front door of the classroom. The two had hidden just out of the goliath’s view.
“Any ideas on how to take down Mount Akuma?” Chat Noir questioned.
Ladybug looked at the giant from their hiding spot and began formulating a plan.
“Stoneheart grows bigger when he gets mad. These akuma aren’t really able to express their emotions. That means we don’t need to worry about him getting bigger. We just need to find a way to incapacitate him.”
“We could ask Mayura,” Chat Noir pointed out.
“We could ask… wait WHA…”
Chat Noir covered his partner’s mouth and ducked down.
“Shhhh! She’s right there,” Chat Noir hushed.
Ladybug removed the cat’s hand from her mouth and looked from the spot to see that her partner was right. Mayura was in the building!
“She actually showed up?” Oh, this is a lot more serious than we thought. Hawkmoth is really playing it serious with this one.”
“To the butterfly man’s credit, he really has been throwing out some tough ones.”
“I will not give our worst villain credit for anything except this headache,” Ladybug retorted with annoyance.
“So, what do we do? Mayura is in the building and she is talking with the giant.”
Ladybug felt like the situation couldn’t get worse.
“Not so fast, Feather Freak!”
Ladybug recognized that voice.
“Chloé?”
Chat Noir and Ladybug glanced to see a familiar blonde strutting down the hallway. But their expressions of shock shifted to bewilderment when they noticed what she was wearing.
“So are you and that purple fashion blunder here? Or is it just you? I am guessing it's just you. Your boss doesn’t really like to show his face unless he thinks he is sure to win. No wonder Ladybug always kicks his…” The bee themed heroine confidently quipped.
“Queen Bee. Now that is a surprise. I thought Ladybug was done giving you a miraculous.” The peacock villainess commented. She had no interest in dealing with the bee heroine at this time.
“Well, you would be surprised by a lot of things. So how about we settle this. My fist really misses your face.”
Mayura rolled her eyes.
“Fortunately for you, I don’t have the time to deal with you. Stoneheart, I am sure Masquerade would love for you to take care of this pesky bee.”
“Oh don’t think you can walk away! You and that purple cockroach are the same. Both cowards that can’t even face children.” She jeered as she walked forward.
The stone giant moved forward, allowing Mayura to walk to the door and enter.
“Too scared to face me! Typical. I'll beat your pet rock as a warm up and then your butt will meet my foot!” Queen Bee exclaimed with confidence. “Because I am a real heroine!”
Queen Bee got into a stance and prepared to trade blows with the colossus of rock.
Chat Noir looked to Ladybug.
“Did you give her a miraculous?” He whispered in surprise.
“I don’t have any additional miraculous. I thought she had been captured with the rest of the class.”
“Wait… if it wasn’t you… you don’t think…”
“Either Master Fu is in the building and saw how dire the situation was or Chloé snuck away and had a Queen Bee costume stowed away in her locker.”
The two look at each other and immediately come to the same conclusion.
“We need to save her before she gets crushed!”
______________________________________________________________________
Mayura walked into the classroom.
She managed to keep a straight face, but internally she had a lot going through her mind.
What was once a standard classroom now looked like an elaborate throne room. The amazing curtains, the high ceilings. The steps leading up to an elaborate throne. The portraits of Masquerade really brought together the utter decadence and vanity of the akuma persona. It reminds Mayura of Gabriel’s obsession with Emilie in the worst way possible.
Despite finding the décor off-putting, she had to admit it was impressive how Masquerade had been able to change the room into something completely unrecognizable. A testament to her vanity.
She took a moment to see what akuma servants she still had in the room. The Gamer, Reflekta with around 12 copies, Princess Fragrance, Robostus, Zombizou and Horificator. While the white masks obscured their expressions, it was clear that all of them were watching her. It greatly unnerved her.
She kept these thoughts to herself as the masked akuma that was running the school took notice of her.
“Mayura. I've been expecting you.”
Mayura looked up to see Masquerade sitting on the throne.
“Please, come in.”
She approached confidently. Though in the back of her mind something seemed off.
Masquerade stood up from the throne and walked down the steps, a smile of certainty on her face.
“Masquerade. Your Sentimonster gave me the basics of your plan. Securing the school as your base of operations was a good first step. Your plan of creating a video to lower the spirits of those in Paris was also a nice touch,” Mayura praised.
“But of course! My plan is flawless,” Masquerade boasted. “Not even Ladybug and Chat Noir will be able to stop me.”
“Getting ahead of yourself aren’t you?” Mayura cut her ego trip.
Masquerade’s mood soured as her smile faltered.
“What do you mean by that?”
“You have yet to face the two heroes. Not to mention there's a pesky bee flying around.”
“A bee?” Masquerade was very confused by the comment.
“Yes, Chloé Bourgeois, or Queen Bee, to be precise. Seems that Ladybug and Chat Noir went and got back up."
“It doesn’t matter if they have one additional hero or three. This plan won't fail.”
‘Something isn’t right here. I need to leave now!’ Mayura’s mind screamed.
She wasn’t sure why, but something felt incredibly off.
“Speaking of heroes, your plan never really specified how you will deal with them. Care to elaborate?”
Masquerade’s smile grew more sinister.
“I am glad you asked. After Simularé relayed to me that you were here. I finally figured out the perfect way of dealing with those arrogant heroes,” the masked woman stated with certainty, moving forward.
She now stood only a few feet from the peacock villainess.
“Wait a moment, something is wrong here,” Mayura commented as she tried to focus. She couldn’t ignore the warnings in her head.
“What do you mean?” The mask akuma looked with confusion at the blue villainess.
Mayura looked around. Frantically trying to find something but it was fruitless. This distress caused Masquerade to smile.
“I can't sense it,” Mayura spoke with slight worry.
“Sense what?” Masquerade inquired further.
“Where is your amok? It should be on your person but I can't sense it.”
“Is that a problem?”
“Yes. If you don’t have the amok in your possession then that sentimonster will go out of control!” Mayura explained.
“Can’t you just rip the amok out?”
“If it's nearby and I sense it, yes. But I can’t do that if it’s out of my range.”
“So you’re saying you have no power over me right now.” A devilish grin appeared on Masquerade’s face.
“No, I am saying I don’t have any power over the senti…”
Mayura felt a chill as she realized that the masquerade in front of her was not an akumatized Lila.
“Horrificator, block the door,” the Faux Masquerade commanded.
The pink and purple monster quickly moved to block the door with her large form.
The controlled akuma started circling around her as Simularé undid the illusion and morphed into its true specter form, Simularé.
“You ungrateful little monster. You think your master will be okay with you attacking one of the ones that gave her power?”
“My master doesn’t care about you or Hawkmoth. You are a means to an end. And she gave me special permission to take your miraculous from you.”
“Well if your master isn’t here, then no one is jamming the signal. I can contact Hawkmoth and put this little coup to an end.”
Simularé shifted into Lady Wifi.
“I have access to every power my master does. You are trapped with no options.” The sentimonster mocked.
Mayura looked around as she was circled by the controlled akuma. She needed to get out of there.
She felt a pain rush to her head.
‘F*** not now’ She mentally cursed.
The odds were indeed not in her favor.

Stoneheart began charging at the bee themed heroine, and just as Queen Bee was about to move, a yo-yo wrapped around her waist and pulled her away from the monster.
The stone giant had expected his charge to make contact but forced himself to stop when he noticed the bee was gone.
“Sorry tiny, but I’m your playmate now,” called a cat-themed hero.
The mindless akuma didn’t visibly react to the change in foe and simply charged at the cat hero.
Queen Bee found herself near Ladybug.
“Chloé! What are you doing?!”
“Uh… Saving the day? I got the jewelry box that you sent out because you needed my help.”
“Jewelry box… wait a minute that means. You are wearing a miraculous.”
“Yep! Don’t worry LB, I will show you that I am worthy of being Queen Bee. And not to boast, but I totally saved someone. But right now, we gotta go beat that ugly pile of rubble.”
Ladybug looked at Chloé for a moment. With the situation as hectic as it was, Queen Bee has shown some competence when there is real danger. Ladybug knew that right now, all hands that could help would be appreciated, and Queen Bee’s appearance could mean that Fu may be closer than she expected. So maybe there were more reinforcements. So if this was the case. She would trust Fu’s judgement.
“Alright, just be ready to return the bee after all of this is over.”
“Right, right, but just know I will probably change your mind about that after this is over!” the bee exclaimed confidently as she jumped back into the fray.
Ladybug shook her head. Whether she was Queen Bee or Chloé, she was still a handful.
“Are you finished gossiping? Because I could REALLY use a hand!” Chat Noir shouted as he held his staff up to hold back the rock monster’s boulder of a fist.
Queen Bee and Ladybug jumped into view and noticed the situation.
“Don’t worry you stray cat, The Queen Bee will put that rock in his place. Ve…”
Ladybug covered Queen Bee’s mouth before she could.
“Hold it. We might need your power for later.”
“I think it would be useful now!” Chat Noir shouted as he struggled to hold the weight of the giant’s rocky hand.
“Okay if my powers are a no no right now, what is the plan?”
Ladybug looked around. She found her attention drawn to a fire extinguisher, Queen Bee, a rubber band, and a discarded backpack.
“Okay, I have a plan.”

Gabriel had made a decision.
He hurried out of the lair in his civilian form. He was going to head to the school. Now he would just need to get his chauffeur and go…
Gabriel’s eyes went wide as he saw his son’s bodyguard and chauffeur fall to the floor at the steps of the main entrance, a white mask adorning his face that he was desperately trying to get off.
“What is the meaning of this?” Gabriel asked aloud in shock and anger.
He looked to see the mask akuma he created standing at the door.
“Well, if it isn’t Gabriel Agreste. Fashion mogul, and master manipulator.”
Gabriel’s visible anger faded as he stared at the akuma.
“Lila, is that you?”
“Oh quite astute! An amazing deduction. Was it that observational skill that made you the fashion success you are now?” the akumatized Lila inquired. “Though I go by Masquerade now.”
Gabriel knew very well the girl’s powers. He was the one that gave it to her. She was trying to antagonize him, get him angry. But that would not work.
“Well Masquerade, what brings you to my home at this time?” Gabriel asked calmly. Doing his best to keep his tone and mannerisms calm.
“Oh, I was just in the neighborhood, finding more people to join my little army and I notice my charm glowing as I was getting near.”
Gabriel’s eyes went wide as he realized something. The charm bracelet was configured to locate anyone that has ever been akumatized. That included him. His ploy to ward suspicion off of himself was now biting him in the butt. And of course, Lila was likely holding a grudge with how he pushed her with his words about his son and his classmate.
“My bodyguard was akumatized. What of it?”
The silent action figure enthusiast stopped resisting and his body began growing. Gabriel noticed the man was transforming into the gorilla akuma. Gorizilla! And he rushed up the steps as the akuma moved and pounded his chest.
“Gorizilla, go gather up anyone who has been akumatized that you know of. I will handle Mr. Agreste myself.”
The giant akuma nodded at its master and headed off, leaving the agreste mansion with a giant hole that was once the front of the mansion.
“Handle me? And what do you plan to do?”
Masquerade’s necklace began to glow.
“Oh! Well that is very interesting,” Masquerade mused aloud as she learned from the glowing charm.
“What do you mean, interesting?” Gabriel asked. He knew that the charm had the bonus effect of pointing out the emotional weak points of those that had been akumatized. But he had PRETENDED to be angry and wasn’t actually emotional when the akuma took over. Did the charm still impact him the same way it did everyone else?
Masquerade started walking up the steps.
“You blame yourself for your wife’s passing.”
The statement was a blade pointed right at his throat. But Gabriel refused to react. He would not let himself be taken advantage of by his own akuma. He has been on the receiving end one too many times and he would be damned if he let that psychopath have control of him.
Masquerade saw that Gabriel was not reacting to the statement.
“I have never seen a man more miserable and pathetic,” Masquerade said. Her words sounded genuine and cutting.
Gabriel tried to turn around and walk away. But Masquerade jumped high with her superhuman agility and landed right in front of him, continuing her tearing down of his emotional state.
“All of this wealth and yet you are obsessed with what you don’t have. You are so blinded by the grief of losing your wife that everything else in your life may as well not exist. You locked yourself away, desperately trying to find something, anything that would bring her back. But now you are finding that color is starting to return in your life. You feel guilt over hiding the truth from your son, you loathe the attraction that you have been developing for another woman. You hate that you can’t dedicate every second to your lost wife and any speck of joy you feel without her here feels like treason since she is not here with you. You are a man so blind with his obsession that you fail to see the world doesn’t revolve around you. It's disgusting.”
“You know nothing of my life,” Gabriel dismissed.
But Masquerade knew he would say that. She only smiled. The truth was right in front of her. And she was ready to bring it home.
“You are actually terrified of facing her again.”
That shook Gabriel.
“What?”
“You are afraid of seeing her again. Whether it’s a year or 10 years, you feel that even if you could bring her back, she would be here and realize how much of a shell you had become without her. You are afraid that your obsession with her will be the very thing that drives her away once you see her again.”
“That isn’t true.”
“Then why haven’t you brought her back yet? Don’t you love her?”
Gabriel felt like his heart was being repeatedly punched.
“How dare you question my love for my wife!”
“Then why isn’t she here? If you loved her she wouldn’t have been taken from you and Adrien. But you were far too pathetic to do it. You failed her, and you are still failing her. You will never be with her again, and deep down. You know it to be true,” Masquerade answered coldly.
Those words were enough to get him down. That is what finally did him in.
Gabriel fell to his knees.
“No…”
Gabriel had broken. Masquerade knew she had him.
He was emotionally devastated, to the point where couldn’t even react to the mask coming his way.

Kwami Christmas
For @quickspinner ‘s Month of Miracles, Day 16: kwami gifts
AO3 _______________________________
"Marinette! What do you want for Christmas? The kwamis want to give you something to show gratitude for how well you treat us" Tikki happily asked.
"Thank you, guys, but I don't need anything. Any material thing, at least" she sighed, sadly. "Thank you anyway. I'm happy to have you around”
Tikki wasn't content with her answer. She had been observing Marinette throughout the years, and she knew her well enough to know when she wasn't happy. And she hadn't been for a while. That's where the gift idea came from, anyway. But… what would make her the happiest?
Tikki entered the Miraculous box and called for a kwami assembly. With Sass and Plagg with their respective owners, Tikki took the role of leader in the box.
"Guys. I need ideas for Marinette's Christmas present. What information have you gathered?" Tikki asked, hitting the improvised table (an empty roll of thread) with her hand.
"What about some cookies?" Mullo suggested. "She loves cookies!" The other kwamis raised their cheerful voices in agreement, but Tikki cut them short.
"No. We can't compete with her parents' cookies. We need something more special. Kaalki, any idea?"
"Let's give her kwami glitter. She'll be fabulous with it!"
"I doubt she would be happy with her body glowing in glitter forever, nor glowing in the dark. Any other ideas? Pollen?"
"What about a crown? She's our queen, isn't she?" 'yes, she is!’ The rest of kwamis responded.
"Mm… could work, but let's consider other ideas. Ziggy?"
"A magic comb! She'll be able to comb her hair without damaging it thanks to the magic!"
"Marinette's hair is already silky and beautiful, but we can add it to the list. Ok, next. Xuppu?"
"A banana tree! I love bananas! I bet she does too"
"Discarded.” ‘Whyyyy’ Xuppu cried at Tikki's blunt rejection. “Trixx?"
“A flying carriage! Like in that story! She could travel anywhere if she had it, even to-"
"Wayzz?"
"What about something that warms her heart?"
Tikki's attention was caught for the first time since their assembly started. "That sounds right. Any idea of what could that be?"
"Hot chocolate? Longg suggested.
"A kwami magic blanket?" Roarr added.
"A love potion?" Ziggy mentioned.
"Isn't that forbidden…?" The ox kwami said.
"Yes, it is." Tikki answered.
"Something made with love?" The rooster kwami said, earning the looks of the rest of the kwamis. "She's been so sad since that boy left Paris..."
"You mean Plagg's owner or-?" Fluff asked.
"That's right!" Tikki finally shouted, hitting the pseudo-table with her hands. "She's been longing for some love. She told me Adrien wasn't what she expected, that she regretted having chosen the wrong boy at that time"
"Do you think she still regrets it, even now?" The pig kwami asked.
"If this is about the blueberry boy, I would say she does" the fox kwami affirmed.
"How do you know that, Trixx?"
"Because I've seen her sighing at his photo before. Haven't you noticed? Her eyes filled with love and hurt. She even cried once"
"Oh, no! Poor Master Marinette!" "Let's help her!" "Yes, let's give her love!" the kwamis cried for their guardian.
"Guys… we can't change people's hearts, you know that…" Tikki said.
"What if he feels the same? It's been a long time but maybe…" Nooroo said.
"You're right! We have to contact Sass and-" Duusu exclaimed.
"We don't even know where he is… He left Paris, didn't he?" The dog kwami asked.
"Oh no…" "what can we do now…?" "Is there a way to contact him?"
"I have an idea. I can go to his sister, my previous owner. I'm sure she'll tell me" The tiger kwami suggested.
"Stop, Roarr. You know everyone has forgotten about the Miraculous. Except those who has used time-related ones, either Sass or Fluff"
"What about Alix, then? My previous owner?"
"Didn't she have a crush on the blueberry boy too? I don't think it's a good idea…" Longg dismissed Fluff’s idea.
The discussion followed for some minutes, but Tikki wasn't listening. She kept thinking what they could do to know if Luka's feelings remained the same. Sass’s kwami cycle was a few years further, but maybe, there could be another way. There had to! Tikki re-read the list:
Cookies
Magic glitter
Crown
A comb
Banana tree
Magic flying carriage
Hot chocolate
Magic blanket
Love
'Music' Tikki thought. Remembering how the blue boy used to play his guitar for her. Her eyes finally glowed in hope. "Guys. I think I've got it!" she exclaimed.
"Really!?" "Tell us!" "Woohoo!"
"I need a minute to check on something. I'll be right back!" And with these words, Tikki left the Miraculous box.
Outside, looking at her surroundings, she saw how Marinette had fallen asleep in her desk. She had her earphones on and trails of tears at the corners of her eyes. Tikki covered her with a blanket and took her earphone out to listen to the music. It was indeed Luka's song, the one he composed for her many years ago.
She then moved into her smartphone and searched for the boy's more recent songs. It had been 5 years since he had left, even more since they first met, but the tune under his songs, even if hidden and faint, remained the same to Tikki's experienced ears: Marinette's tune.
The discovery reassured her plans.
She entered the box again, ready to share her plans with her fellow kwamis.
"Guys! You know how kwamis can't be recorded, right? But that's not entirely true. We can listen to each other's voice recordings. I remember hearing Plagg through the phone before. It's not impossible"
"What's the plan?" Barkk asked.
"I want you to get what's on the list ready for Christmas. Can you do it?"
"Of course!" They all agreed, happily moving to their tasks.
"You'll have the best Christmas present ever, Marinette", Tikki said, kissing Marinette's cheek before secretly using her tablet to carry on with her plan.
_______________________________________________________
And just like that, Christmas arrived.
"Merry Christmas, Marinette!" The kwamis congratulated the guardian. Marinette giggled and answered back "Merry Christmas"
"We have some gifts for you!" Tikki exclaimed.
"Oh, guys, it wasn't necessary, you know? Thank you" she said, welcoming the presents.
"What's all this?" She blinked.
"Wear it!" they enthusiastically exclaimed.
Marinette put on a silver tiara with blue and pink diamonds, and the kwami magic blanket over her shoulders, like a cape. She then put some glitter on her dress and shoes. She looked like a princess.
"Wow! This is so pretty! I feel like Cinderella" she giggled. "Thank you very much"
“You’re welcome!” They said, Tikki signaling them. “We have something else for you”
“You do?” Marinette blinked again.
“You need to sleep first. Sorry Marinette” Tikki said, while Duusu cast some sleeping magic on her, putting her under sleep. “Time for the plan, everyone!” Tikki smiled, using Marinette’s phone to give a call to an old friend.
_____________________________________
Marinette could listen to some music. New music to her ears. It sounded like chants, coming from somewhere far. Far away. She opened her eyes to see she was on a deserted island with only a banana tree and some bushes on it. “Xuppu!” she heard a low voice complaining.
“Tikki?” she called. “Where am I? Is this a dream?”
Marinette felt like crying at noticing her surroundings: alone on a deserted island, in the dark night, just as if she was inside her own lonely heart. She curled to hug her knees as soft whimpers left her throat. ‘This is the worst Christmas ever…’ she whispered between hiccups.
All of a sudden, she heard some water splashing and saw something coming from the sea. She wasn’t sure what, but it was getting close. She was afraid it was a shark, but instead, she soon realized it was a tiny boat. “Help!” she screamed and waved, and it wasn’t until the boat was almost at the coast that she realized who was on it.
“Luka?” she gasped. ‘Could this be true? This had to be a dream- no doubt’, she thought.
His surprised expression could match her own. Both of them were hesitant to take a step closer. ‘It had been five years. Why would they meet now?’ Marinette felt her stomach twirl at how sour destiny could be. Luka stayed silent, trying to understand what was going on. ‘Where was he? Why was Marinette there? What happened to Christmas?’ But everything lost its importance when he noticed the tears in her eyes.
“Marinette” he called, and her body reacted in a jolt. “What happened? Why are you crying?”
Marinette finally lifted her face to meet his blue eyes. Her glowing dress was, along with the moon, the only source of light. “Luka… Is- Is that really you…?” she asked.
“Yes, it’s me. It’s been a long time, hasn’t it? What happened? Where are we? Don’t cry, please” he begged, taking a few steps closer.
“I- I don’t know… I woke up here all alone and it was all dark and lonely and Tikki and the kwamis disappeared and- This must be a dream, right? There’s no way this is real”
“Probably, yes. When I woke up I was on the boat, lost in the middle of the sea. Then I saw something glowing and I moved towards that direction, looking for the land. I didn’t expect you to be the one glowing...” he explained. “You look beautiful. Thank you for guiding me here, Marinette. I’m happy to see you”
“Luka!” she jumped to hug him. “I- I was so scared! I- I-”
“It’s ok, Marinette. I’m here now.  We can use the boat to-” Marinette’s grip tightened around him, and he immediately got worried. “Marinette…”
Luka hesitated. As much as he wanted to hold her, he wasn’t sure if he was allowed to. She had made her choice back at the time, and it hadn’t been him. ‘What claim could he have now, after years of an unreciprocated love he couldn’t move on from? Wasn’t it a dream, though? It had to be. Hasn’t he dreamed of her multiple times before? It didn’t need to be different now’, he convinced himself.
And he hugged her back, overthrowing all the piled up love he had for her. Marinette’s gasp was cut by her need for ask, enjoying the fantasy hug for as long as she could.
“Marinette…” he whispered again, close to her ear. In response, she pressed her body to his even closer, in need of contact. Their heartbeats were fast, in unison, and they stayed together until the chants from before alerted them.
“What’s this music?” Luka asked, giving her some space.
“I- I don’t know…” she answered, still clinging to his body.
“Should we go search for land? The boat must be- Oh, no. The boat is gone. Sorry Marinette” Luka apologized. “I should have brought it closer to the sand”
“It’s not your fault Luka. This… This sea is probably my heart. Meeting you here has just reminded me how much I regret the past, so the sea level increased. It’s not your fault. It’s mine”
“Is this… your heart? I thought it was mine… Your heart should be a happy sunny place. You deserve to be happy, not like me. What happened? What's here that darkens your heart so much?”
Marinette could only cry. ‘You’, she wanted to say. Would he believe her, though? If this was her dream, he would probably return her feelings, and when she wakes up, she would be sad and disappointed. She wasn’t sure if she should be enjoying this tiny happiness in the form of an illusion. Before she could say anything, a shooting star fell in front of their eyes. The stardust cleared up to transform into a magical flying carriage, similar to Cinderella’s.
“Now there’s no doubt this is a dream” Luka stated. “Why don’t we try to enjoy our time while we’re here, Cinderella? Just like old times…” He smiled at her but, instead of waiting for an answer, he lifted her light body and seated her in the carriage, getting on after her. “Let’s go”
A rainbow suddenly appeared as a road to guide them. Marinette was still unsure of how to cope with the fueling emotions going through her heart, while Luka kept looking at her from under his lashes in his usual loving eyes- the expression he only showed for Marinette.
“Luka” Marinette called. “Isn’t that the Liberty?” she pointed.
“What?” He reacted in surprise. “No way… It sank just before I moved, remember? The day you- rejected me.” His words felt like a stab in her heart. She had rejected him before, and that was her deepest regret in her life. “Let’s go see it. It’s a dream, after all”
The carriage stopped at the Liberty’s deck and Luka helped Marinette to step down from the flying vehicle. “Wow, so nostalgic… It’s exactly as I remember it. As expected of dreams. Are you cold?” He noticed her trembling and grabbed a blanket to cover her. “Here. Look. There’s some cookies and hot chocolate, too. Let me prepare you some. Wait here”
“NO!” Marinette shouted. “I- I’ll help!”
“Of course” Luka smiled. “Do you think we’ll remember this when we wake up?”
“I don’t know…” Marinette answered.
“I wish I could meet you like this when we’re back in the real world. I’ve missed you, Marinette. A lot more than you could imagine” Luka said, reaching for his favorite mug.
“STOP!” Marinette shouted loudly. Then, her eyes became sad and focused on the man in front of her. “How do you expect me to go back to the real world after this sweet dream? This is where I rejected you! This is where the moment I regret the most in my life occurred!”
Luka waited a few seconds in silence before he spoke again, making Marinette tensed up as she waited. “Why don’t you use this dream to fix your regret, then? Isn’t this what dreams are for? Tell me, Marinette. What do you regret?”
“I regret-” she started, but he cut her.
“I regret letting you go” he started, reaching for her hand. “I regret not trying harder to make your feelings turn to my direction. I regret leaving your side. I regret not having contacted you in all these years. I have so much regret I could never move on” He said, staring at her incredulous eyes. “I’ve never forgotten you, Marinette. You’ve always been the song in my head- even now”
Marinette felt like crying. Of course he would say kind words for her in a dream. Of course he would love her back in her sleeping palace. But she was happy. Why wouldn’t she? Seeing his relieved face gave the courage to speak up.
“I regret making the wrong choice. I regret rejecting you when you were obviously the right answer, the one for me.  I regret having noticed too late. I regret never telling you my feelings. I regret not being brave enough to contact you all this time. I regret not having kissed you… But- If this is a dream and I can fix that… I want to do it right this time…” Marinette moved closer to him and cupped his cheek. “I love you, Luka. My life can’t ever feel complete without you”
And before he could answer, she leaned for a kiss on his lips. A kiss he welcomed. The kiss he had been starving for for years. The kiss he always wished for but could never force on her. The only kiss that mattered to them.
And then, the clock marked midnight.
“I guess it’s time to wake up…” Marinette whispered, not wanting her sweet dreams to end. “I wish this magical dream would never end...”
“I love you, Marinette. More than anything.” Luka said, kissing her again. “Will you give me your shoe, Cinderella? Or maybe your heart?”
“I’ll give you my shoe. I can’t give you something that’s yours already” She kissed him again before holding her arms tight around his neck. “I don’t want to wake up”
“Me neither…” Luka mumbled, keeping her close. “Can I call you sometime? Even if you don’t remember this dream… Is it ok for me to miss you? To love you?”
“I’ll be more than happy to receive a call from you. I’ve been hoping for one for so long now…” Before Marinette could lean in for another kiss, the bells rang again. “I guess it’s time to go. Here. I’ll give you this. It's a magic comb I received from the kwamis. It has some kwami glitter on it, just like the one on my dress and shoes. A lucky charm for our next meeting…”
Marinette took one step behind, and then another. Their hands irremediably split, but not before Luka kissed one of them hissing a low ‘I love you’ to her. As she took another step behind, she could feel her heart warm up… and before she could notice, she opened her eyes: back in the real world.
She woke up with tears in her eyes, but a relief and warm feeling she hadn’t felt in a long time. “Luka…” she whispered.
“Marinette!” Tikki called. “How was your dream?”
“Tikki! Was this your doing? What have you done, you little trickster!” Marinette said, happily tickling the red kwami. “Thank you Tikki, I had the sweetest dream”
“That’s not all, Marinette!” Tikki exclaimed, and the rest of the kwamis approached with her phone. The screen showed an unknown room, but a familiar guitar on the table. ‘Could it be…?’ her heart rate increased in expectation.
“Sass? Could you explain to me what just happe-” he said, and noticed the phone screen. Luka blinked in confusion, looking at his hand and back to the screen. Then, he lifted his hand to show Marinette its contents: the magic comb. Marinette gasped and that was everything Luka needed as an answer: they had shared their dream.
“So… emm…. Hi! Long time- No, that’s not right. Tikki! What’s the meaning of this!? I need answers!” She screamed in embarrassment, making Luka laugh.
“It’s Christmas magic, Marinette! Our magic is stronger during Christmas. We wanted to give you a present that would warm up your heart! Did it work?”
“It did” Marinette said, aware that Luka couldn’t see or hear her kwami’s explanations. “Merry Christmas, Luka”
Marinette’s heart grew warmer with Luka’s smile. “Merry Christmas, Marientte”
After a long video call where they confirmed that what happened was actually real, they confirmed their feelings for each other and set up a date to meet again. When the call ended, Marinette spoke to the kwamis. “Thank you. Thanks to all of you, this is the best Christmas ever. I love you”
The kwamis reunited by her side for a collective hug. “Anything to make you happy” Tikki answered.

ML: Are They Worthy? Chapter 86: Unity!
The next day, Lila was in her hospital bed being visited by Lorenzo. They were reminiscing about their time in Italy and having a generally fun time. Their giggles were interrupted when someone else opened the door. Lila was expecting a nurse, a doctor, or maybe one of those miraculous experts she met the day before after Gabriel left, but was surprised to see that it was none of the above. “Alix?”
Alix walked in, pulled up a chair, and sat down next to Lorenzo in front of Lila. “Hey.”
“Hi…” Lila replied awkwardly.
After a bit of silence, Alix asked “Well, how are you doing?”
“Oh, um, I’m feeling alright,” Lila answered. “Well, I guess as alright as I can be.”
“Right…” Alix responded. An awkward silence permeated.
“Why are you here?” Lila asked, breaking the silence like a plate crashing to the floor. “I’ve done nothing but manipulate you and your friends.” She sunk into herself. “I don’t deserve your friendship.”
Lorenzo was shook. Alix simply smiled and said “Yeah. You probably don’t.” Lila looked up. “But whether it be kindness or foolishness, I think we’re willing to give it to you anyway.”
“Why?” Lila demanded.
“Well, I don’t know about anyone else for certain,” Alix explained, “but for me, it’s a case of I can spend time disliking you, or I can see that you’re trying and at least move on, if not help you try. And I don’t have the time to waste hating someone who is trying.”
Lila was stunned. She looked at Lorenzo who smiled and chuckled. She looked back at Alix and started crying. “Lila, are you OK?” Lorenzo asked.
“Yeah” Lila sniffed. She wiped her eyes, although tears kept coming. “I’m alright.” For so long, Lila was trapped in the darkness of trying to make herself seem like an amazing, untouchable, Goddess. She was pushing other people away to push herself upwards. However, it felt lonely, which is what she was trying to avoid in the first place. Yet she had a hard time realizing it until it swallowed her whole.
So when someone was reaching out to her honestly and earnestly, and she was fully committed to doing the same, it all hit her at once. She hadn’t felt like this in a long time, and she liked it. Lila looked up and smiled at Alix. Alix reciprocated the smile. Nathalie looked on, assured that things will be alright.
Meanwhile, Adrien came into Marinette and Emilie’s room. “Hey” he said upon entering. He looked and saw Marinette was alone. “Where’s my mother?”
“She’s beginning physical therapy,” Marinette explained.
“Oh” Adrien said, surprised and delighted by the news.
“Some of the doctors were worried, but she insisted she get a start” Marinette continued.
Adrien chuckled. “That’s mother alright.” The couple shared a giggle. “It might be better this way.” Marinette seemed puzzled. Adrien’s smile widened. “Someone’s been missing you.” He took out a box and opened it.
As the box opened, Tikki appeared. Marinette was overcome with delight. “TIKKI!” she gasped.
Tikki flew up to Marinette as fast as she could and hugged her cheek. “Marinette!” The two snuggled each other. Once the little hug was over, Tikki said “I’m glad you’re OK.”
“Me too,” Marinette responded. She averted her gaze for a bit. “I feel like I should have asked you.” Tikki was curious. “About the ultimate move thing. I mean, after what happened with you and the previous holder of the wolf miraculous…”
“Marinette, it’s fine,” Tikki said. “The lucky charm gave you the idea for a reason. In spite of needing to perform that move, both you and her are amazing Ladybugs, and nothing can change that.”
Marinette smiled and blushed. “Thanks Tikki.” Adrien stood there, observing but not interrupting.
As the days went by, the recovery process progressed for the patients, as well as Paris itself. While the city had seen a great deal of damage from Hawk Moth, the Nurushwa attack was on a whole other level. While the miraculous cure did its job, the city was still in shock, and it needed some time to readjust.
During this time, Gabriel was meeting constantly with lawyers to figure out the details of his case. He was making certain arrangements to make sure everything goes smoothly. Meanwhile, Marinette and Lila were getting visits from their classmates to make sure they were doing well, and in Lila’s case, assuring them that they could bury the hatchet.
One of the processes of Paris’s recovery was a self-imposed quarantine. This was an effort to maintain order, get accounts from everyone involved, and maybe trap this Nurushwa figure. However, this was a temporary process, and nearing its end. Among those set to leave Paris once this quarantine was over, Travis and Cassandra were some of the most anxious.
Vlad was meeting with them in their hotel room. “It sucks that we gotta leave soon,” Travis lamented. “I was getting used to having you being in the same neighborhood as us, just like old times.”
“Hm,” Vlad grunted. “I’m going to miss it too. But we’ll never be too far apart. We have cellphones and such.”
“Right…” Travis reluctantly agreed. “It’s just not the same, you know?”
“We can come visit whenever, you know,” Cassandra said.
“I guess that’s true” Travis said, cheering up slightly. He sighed. “Part of me wishes we could just move here, you know? Not only are you here, but the friends you’ve made are amazing.”
“Well, what can I say?” Vlad asked. “Only the best for me.”
Meanwhile, Cassandra chuckled. “Are you sure this isn’t about one friend in particular?” she insinuated.
Travis was caught off-guard. “Well,” he blushed, “I can’t say she isn’t one of the BIGGER reasons… But you must feel it too, you know? The general presence of Vlad’s friends here.”
“Of course,” Cassandra said. “I just can’t miss an opportunity to tease you.” Travis rolled his eyes.
Meanwhile, Kagami was doing some fencing training. Longg was watching her. She was working aggressively, and losing focus. Longg imagined it had something to do with the conversation they had when they got home after the attack and the incident with Katelyn.
Flashing back, Kagami walked into her room. She sat in front of her tv and started playing video games. Longg floated out beside her. “So, um, why did you tell Travis and Cassandra you’re Ryuko?”
Kagami shrugged. “I guess I felt like it.”
“It’s a little unorthodox,” Longg informed her.
“I know…” Kagami replied. She had just been defeated in her game. “Ugh. Fine.”
“Fine what? Longg asked.
Kagami sighed. “I think I’ve made my decision.”
“‘Decision’?” Longg inquired.
“Yeah,” Kagami answered. “And as amazing as Luka is, I think I actually like Travis more.”
“Oh” Longg said, realizing what Kagami was talking about. “So that’s why?”
Kagami nodded. “I figured if we were going to end up going out, he’d have to know the truth at some point or another.”
“So, if you don’t mind,” Longg began, “what was the deciding factor in all of this?”
Kagami smiled. “Like I said, Luka’s great...but Travis has this air about him. He’s just so passionate and free, and I feel like I want that out of a potential boyfriend, you know?”
“I see” Longg said. “So, when are you going to tell him?”
“That, I’m not sure,” Kagami said. “This whole time has been crazy...I want to wait until things settle down a bit before I go jumping into this.”
“That sounds fair,” Longg replied.
Back in the present, Kagami was making mistake after mistake in her training. She threw off her helmet and said “I can’t take it anymore!” She went to go change. Once she was finished, she stormed out of the house.
She started out walking, but then sped up into a run. She was on her way to Le Grand Paris, hoping that he’d be there. When she arrived, she stopped, caught her breath, and composed herself. She walked in, and calmly took the elevator up.
When she got to the floor they were staying in, she left and hurried down the hall. She arrived at their room. She hesitated at first, but she shook herself out of it and knocked. The knock was gentle, but forceful.
Vlad opened the door. “Kagami? What’s up?” Kagami brushed past Vlad. “OK?”
Kagami walked up to Travis. “You!”
Travis seemed confused over this confrontational Kagami. He pointed to himself and said “Me?”
“You!” Kagami repeated. She sighed and loosened her tension. “When I first came to Paris, I thought I was the best there ever was, the best there ever is, and the best there ever will be.”
“O...K…?” Travis said, confused. Vlad and Cassandra were looking on equally confused.
“But right away, I was made apparent of my flaws,” Kagami went on. “As time went on, I’ve slowly learned to overcome those flaws, or at least work towards that. Yet when we first interacted, you seemed to fall in love with me almost instantly. At a time where I kind of hated myself, and I took my anger out on you.” Kagami intensely stared at Travis. “Do you think I’m perfect when I’m not?”
Travis was puzzled. He looked at Vlad and Cassandra, neither of whom were able to help. He turned back to Kagami. “Well...that’s...um…” He sighed. “To be honest, being perfect is overrated.” Kagami was confused. “I didn’t say any of what I said because I thought you were perfect. I said what I said because I thought you were amazing. You still are. But perfect is a bit much to expect, you know?”
Kagami smiled. “Yeah. I do. Hm. Today, while I was practicing fencing, I started to lose focus.” Travis was stunned. “This was the first time since the battle against that Nurushwa thing that I did.”
“I’m sorry…” Travis said, unsure of what else to say.
“Don’t be,” Kagami said. “Because it was the first time since the attack that I had a focus to lose. That I can let my mind think about other things. That I don’t have to worry about a monster peering over my shoulder.”
“Oh” Travis said.
Kagami closed in on him. “I was thinking about you. I think you’re amazing too. So...um...will, uh, will you go out with me?”
Travis’s face was now beat red. Kagami was also blushing, but she looked a little more composed. Still, blushing, Triavis laughed a little. “Hah. Of course.”
Kagami grabbed the lapels of Travis’s jacket. “Oh yeah?” She pulled herself in closer, pressing her body against his. “Prove it.” She gave him a kiss. Travis was taken aback for a second, but wrapped his head around what was happening and focused. He wrapped his arms around Kagami, squeezing her tenderly.
Once the kiss was over, the two looked at each other. They noticed the other was blushing, and started giggling amongst themselves. Travis then said “Now THAT was truly amazing.”
“Congratulations you two,” Cassandra said.
They looked at Cassandra and Vlad, who were smirking, but supportive all the same. “Hm hm. Thanks” Kagami said.
The following day, Mylene and Ivan went to visit Lila, who was also getting a visit from Lorenzo, because of course. “Hi Lila. Lorenzo” Mylene said upon entering.
“Hey,” Ivan said. “How are you all doing?”
Lila giggled. “Well, I’m doing better with all of the visitors I’m getting.” She looked down. “It is nice. After all this time, all of this double-dealing, it is nice that there are people who are willing to give me another shot.”
“It happens to the best of us,” Ivan explained. “If you’re willing to change, people will be there to help.”
“Speaking of helping people,” Mylene said, “the food pantry’s been missing you for the past couple of days Lorenzo.”
“Ah ha ha” Lorenzo laughed. “Well, uh…”
“It’s fine,” Lila said. “I’m in good hands. You’ve been here enough to know that.”
“Right…” Lorenzo said. “It’s just...I’ve missed you...a whole…”
“I know…” Lila said. “I’ve missed you too. And I also missed me as well.” Lorenzo smiled, as did Ivan and Mylene.
Meanwhile, Adrien, Vlad, Travis, Cassandra, and Kagami were visiting Marinette. “Are you two really leaving tomorrow?” Adrien asked.
“Yeah,” Cassandra answered. “We figured we should visit before we’re off.”
“Well, it’s always a pleasure,” Marinette said. “Whenever you come here next, we should hang out more.”
“Hopefully you’re not laid up in a hospital” Cassandra replied.
“Of course,” Marinette responded.
“Let’s hope things aren’t as hectic either” Vlad noted.
“Yeah, there sure were a lot of ups and downs this time around,” Travis added. He looked over at Kagami. “But I will say, this trip went out on top.”
Kagami walked over and embraced him. “We have something to tell you.” Adrien and Marinette were curious.
Travis wrapped his arm around her. “Heh. We’re kind of going out.” Adrien and Marinette were stunned. Kagami gave him a kiss on the cheek to highlight that.
Marinette smiled. “Congratulations you two.”
Kagami turned to Adrien. “You’re not jealous, are you?”
Adrien smiled. “Of course not. I have a wonderful girlfriend, and you have a wonderful boyfriend.”
Kagami smiled back. “Thanks Adrien.”
After they left the hospital, Vlad looked at his cohorts. “You go on ahead. I’ve got something to do.”
“You sure?” Travis said.
“Yeah” Vlad answered. “If I don’t catch back up to you today, I’ll definitely be there to see you off tomorrow.”
“Well, if you’re so determined, then I guess we’ll seeya” Cassandra said. “And good luck.”
“Yeah,” Kagami added. She nodded. Vlad nodded back and left.
While Vlad was walking, Beyyo popped out. “Um, just out of curiosity, what are you doing?”
Vlad sighed. “Mr. Agreste, Lila, Kagami… heck, practically everyone. They’re all starting to move forward. And I need to do the same.”
At the Liberty, there was a knock. Juleka answered. “Vlad?”
“Hey” Vlad said with little emotion. “Can I speak with Luka?”
“Oh. Sure” Juleka said. She left to get Luka.
Luka arrived. “Vlad?”
Vlad tensed up. “Listen.” He stood silent. Luka waited patiently. “GAH!” Vlad vented. Luka flinched. “Sorry” Vlad said, calming down. Luka readjusted himself. “I just have to say it. I..sort of have a thing for you…”
“I’ve noticed,” Luka said nonchalantly.
Vlad’s face grew a little red, but he pressed on. “But I can’t keep holding out for a light that isn’t going to come. So, I need to know now: Is it possible that the two of us could go out? Or are you straight?”
Luka chuckled. Vlad was stunned. “I’m sorry. But that whole speech just now was incredibly adorable.”
Vlad’s face grew redder. “You-You’re not answering the question.”
“Isn’t he?” Beyyo asked.
“Let’sssss wait and sssssee” Sass responded.
Luka grabbed Vlad’s hand. “I’d say it’s more than possible.” He moved in and gave Vlad a kiss on the cheek.
Vlad’s face was entirely red. “Wh-Where did this come from?”
Luka rubbed the back of his head. “Well, I’ve been thinking a lot. About me, and what I want out of someone. I mean, I was a bit down when Marinette started going out with Adrien, but you can’t hang on to one person like that forever. Otherwise, you’re just a one-hit wonder, you know.”
Vlad was taken aback by Luka’s explanation. “I...was sort of thinking the same thing...I needed an answer, otherwise I couldn’t move on…”
“And it’s things like that that made me realize, you’re someone I’d want to go out with” Luka said. “Plus, your impassioned speech was, again, adorable.” Vlad turned his head, a little embarrassed. Luka smirked. “C’mon.” He grabbed Vlad’s head, turned it towards him, and gave him a kiss, this time on the lips. Vlad was surprised, but followed through almost instantly. A few minutes later, all of Vlad and Luka’s friends got a picture of the two of them announcing their new relationship.
The day after, Kagami, Vlad, and Luka were there to see Travis and Cassandra off. “Seeya!” Vlad said.
“Of course!” Travis exclaimed. “And congratulations yourself!” Vlad blushed, but Luka took his hand, and he calmed down. The two started to wave.
“Don’t have too much fun with us!” Cassandra said. The two started getting on the train.
Kagami called out. “Hey!” Travis looked at her. “Promise you’ll call when you get back.”
“Heh” Travis laughed. “What do you take me for?” They both smiled at each other. Travis and Cassandra got on the train, and it started going.
Meanwhile, Alya and Nino were visiting Lila. Of course, they also forgave Lila after Lila apologized. They were having a good time. But then Lila’s face went from happy to somber. “What’s wrong?” Nino asked.
Lila looked at the two of them. “Do you know if Marinette’s coming?”
“Marinette?” Alya wandered.
“Yeah” Lila said. “She’s the one I want to apologize to the most.”
“Oh, um, well…” Nino sputtered.
Lila sighed. “She’s not coming, is she?”
“No no, she’ll come,” Alya replied. “It’s just…”
“It’s fine,” Lila said. “I know a lie when I hear it. I can’t say I’m surprised. Marinette is the one I was the worst to. I can’t imagine she’ll forgive me.” Alya and Nino were awestruck. Lila turned back to them and smiled again. “But thank you two for coming. Honestly.” Alya and Nino nervously laughed.
A little later, Alya and Nino entered Marinette’s room. “Hey guys,” Marinette said.
“Um…” Nino pondered. “What are we telling people who AREN’T in the know?”
Marinette was confused. “Ugh” Alya groaned. “Lila wants to know if you’ll come and visit.”
“Lila?” Marinette wondered.
“Yeah, she’s upstairs,” Nino said. “Room 303.”
“And she’s resigning herself to thinking you won’t forgive her” Alya added. “Um, you will forgive her, right?”
“Huh? Oh, of course” Marinette said.
Alya said. “Good. Because I know you girl, and you got SUPER worked up about her.”
“Yeah…” Marinette said, embarrassed. “When I think of something, I’ll let you know.”
“Great!” Nino said. The three of them had a little visit, but Alya and Nino had to leave. Adrien hung around a little bit, but also left eventually.
That night, Marinette’s mind drifted towards Lila. From what everyone who visited her told her, she really was ready to turn over a new leaf. When she was through apologizing, she was pleasant and fun to be around.
She thought about what Alya told her. Lila really believed that she wouldn’t forgive her. Of course, Marinette had every right not to and then some, but darn it, that just wasn’t who she was. If she can forgive Hawk Moth on some level, she can forgive Lila.
Marinette looked around. Mrs. Agreste had already fallen asleep after another exhausting day of physical therapy. She decided to follow her lead and give it a go. She moved herself to hang her legs off of her bed. “Now or never.”
She gently flung herself downwards. She landed on her feet. She had only done so to use the in-room bathroom, and even that was a bit strenuous, since previously she had been unconscious for a week. She started moving to the door.
By the time she reached it, she was already breathing heavily. She proceeded to open the door. She had been in plenty of situations where she needed to move something heavy when she was Ladybug, and it felt like that. Still, she opened the door and continued to walk.
She had to lean on the wall for support. She was feeling the strain of every step. Yet she was determined all the same.
She made it to the elevator. She got in, pressed the buttons to head up, and leaned back against the wall. The elevator granted her a small reprieve. “You can do this.” The elevator opened. She lifted herself back up and headed out.
She didn’t have to go very far to find room 303, but it felt like a struggle all the way. She arrived at the door. She placed her hands on the handle, and began opening it, calling upon the same strength she used to open her own door.
When she slid the door open, there was a loud sound, which woke up both patrons of the room. Nathalie turned the light on. As soon as she saw a fatigued Marinette wandering into the room, she immediately pressed the “Call Nurse” button. Lila just looked at her in shock and said, “Marinette?”
Marinette looked up at Lila. “Lila…” That was all she could muster before passing out.
Marinette woke up back in her own bed. She was greeted by a doctor. “You gave us quite a scare, Miss Dupain-Cheng,” the doctor said.
Marinette looked down. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s alright” the doctor noted. “Frankly, I admire your drive, but we should work on baby steps.”
Marinette looked up and smiled. “You’re right.”
“I’m sure with your adventure last night, you’ll do great, '' Emilie said from her bed.
Marinette looked over at her. “Thank you Mrs. Agreste.”
The door opened up.It was Lila. She rushed over to Marinette’s bed. “Marinette! I’m so sorry.”
“Lila? What are you doing here? Marinette asked.
“Well, um, you did come to my room last night,” Lila said.
“Right…” Marinette replied. “I came because Nino and Alya told me that you were asking why I hadn’t visited yet.”
“Oh. That makes sense” Lila realized. “Well, don’t worry, Mr. Agreste explained everything.”
Marinette was confused. “He did?”
“He was here this morning,” Emilie jumped in. “After he heard about what happened, he came to make sure you were OK. When the doctors told him you were stable, he was relieved. He would have stayed, but he said he was busy with the upcoming case.”
“I see…” Marinette said.
“Marinette,” Lila began, “had I known he’d attacked you like that, I would’ve understood.”
Marinette was confused. Before she could say anything, Emilie said “Remember? You were offered the butterfly miraculous to continue Hawk Moth’s mission. And when you said no, he attacked you. Thankfully, Cat Noir, Judgement Wolf, and Ladybug figured him out just then and saved you.” Emilie winked.
“Oh” Marinette said. “Yeah.” She looked downward. “Lila. I don’t want you to think I wouldn’t forgive you. I mean, from what everyone has told me about their visits with you, you sound so sincere about wanting to make it up to everyone. I can’t be mad at that.”
“But you were the person I was the worst to,” Lila admitted.
“I know,” Marinette said. “And trust me, there were days where there was nothing more that I wanted than your complete humiliation.” Lila was stunned with this honesty, but understood it. “But I can’t live in that animosity. I just can’t. Ladybug is working so hard to fight for peace, and I want to be able to live up to that.”
Lila’s face was filled with mixed emotions. “I’ve been living in that animosity for so long. And I thought I enjoyed it, but it all came crashing down on me, and I realized I didn’t want that anymore. But I thought it was too late, so I kept running because that was all I was good at.”
Lila smiled. “But when Ladybug said she wanted to save me, I was overjoyed. She could have left me for dead, and I would have understood it. But she wanted to save me. So now I want to live up to Ladybug’s light too.”
Marinette smiled and reached out her hand. “Friends?”
Lila was about to shake her hand, but instead dove in for a hug. Lila started crying tears of joy. “Friends.” Marinette was startled by this hug, but returned it once the suddenness wore off.

Trading Circle of Hell
@semi-slaughtomatic happy belated birthday doll! I will be cross posting to AO3 later as well but I wanted to get this out there now that its done!
-start-
"Welcome welcome! Females to the left and males to the right! Look for anyone with a purple butterfly mask to make your purchase or ask for more information on our unique invenitory! Rumor has it our esteemed kings shall be here today, make your selection quick for I fear even I wouldn't dare say no to them...."
Viperion scanned the room in disgust, cages with humans, demons, various kinds of fae and more supernaturals were lined and spaced very strategically. Only one or two people could view a 'selection' at a time and there were plenty to choose from.
"This is not what I was expecting." Chat Noir spoke up, teeth bared in rage at what he was seeing. They had been tipped off there was an underground market, an illegal one even by demon standards, and here was the proof right in front of their eyes.
"Easy Plagg, we have time to browse and choose carefully from the... Inventory."
"Yeah yeah Sass, kumbyyah and all. I want one with spirit."
"I want one with some brains, the traps keep killing people." Sass responded, sharing a smirk with his companion and drawing his hood closer to his face. The last thing they needed was for someone to recognize them as they were investigating this horrid black market before they could shut it down. The problem with the recon mission was that they needed to be stealthy and being the Snake and Black Cat made them the best choice, even if they had more favorable morals and senses of justice within them unlike many other demons. It was the secret that made them good rulers and their following loyal to them and them alone.
"Welcome gentleman! Forgive me I have spent too much time topside lately, is there anything specific you happen to be looking for? Someone for manual labor or more physical labor in the place of rest?" The Showrunner as he chose to title himself wisely decided to not touch either of them like he had for many of the other buyers.
"I need someone with a firey spirit and tough enough to withstand the Hell Fires."
"Oh, you must live under our illustrious leader Chat Noir then, pray tell would a dragon suffice good sir?" Beady eyes were shining in glee as Plagg exchanged a glance with Sass.
"Depends on the age and gender, perhaps you can direct me where I could find such one?"
"Of course, in the front row at the very end of the left side. A Longg follower that is quite the spirited miss. And for you fellow good sir?"
"I need someone smart and cunning, quick as a mouse if you will,"
"Ah I wish we could've acquried a Mullo follower but alas not this round... I do however have a special quiet thing that could fit the bill if you're interested?"
"Perhaps, show me your inventory and I may still need to browse, I have other stations that could be filled if I do not find someone to my liking." Sass followed the leader and hid his disgust with all of his being, he wanted nothing more than to poison the man with a quick strike. The cages had various states of captured folk in various stages of distress or anger, the collars adorning their necks were equipped to restrain their unique talents and powers, preventing any type of escape from their cages. Guards and hired demons of lower levels were mingling around the crowd should someone get lucky enough to successfully escape from behind the bars.
"Here we have a pretty little thing but awfully quiet. she does have a voice but her glare usually speaks for her, I have had some issues with one so she is at a discounted price, only 150 thousand."
Sass raised a brow at the price, many of the others were easily going for ten times as much for a starting bid. Either she was too much to handle for the ring leader or she was damaged in some way. Finally looking at the cage, his breath caught. He would know those blue eyes anywhere and was glad that his self control was damn good. Her resemblance to her parents was uncanny, even if they had not been seen by a single eye in over 200 years.
"She's a looker but anyone who dares to get too close suffers, unless that's your type of ah, fun shall we say?"
"I'll take her, she'll make an excellent addition to the baker's guild. If she turns out she can't bake well, I'm sure she could plead to Tikki for help before she became the next meal."
"Very well, as with everyone else I'll collect the payment before the next round and after inventory has been checked and secured, you can take it home with you. If anything else catches your eye, please let me know." With that, the Showman left to prey on other prospective buyers and Sass glanced around, noticing only a few other demons looking at the few cages with interest. It was safe enough he supposed.
"Tell me little one, do you like sweets or cheese?" Pulling carefully on his power, he let flow enough to touch his eyes, making them turn mint green and seeing her eyes flash a pale pink, drawing a gasp from that luscious mouth. "So you are a true Mullo follower then."
"Snake." She murmured and smiled sweetly, eyes flashing once more.
"Black cat is here too, the Longg follower is coming with us and this place is done for." Sass whispered, directing his gaze towards the other side where he could see Plagg was prowling and looking at everything with a calculating gaze, casing the entire space.
"Kagami?" She whispered so softly he nearly missed it, drawing his attention and she flushed pink as she shrunk down.
"Well then, even better. Plagg, if you're ready I am. Nothing else has caught my interest."
"Good, let's find the Showman and collect." The green of his iris was gleaming, a yellow tint coloring them acid and the barely concealed rage shining. Their aura made everyone scurry away from their path as they followed the twists and turns through the cages.
"Ah, is there a problem, good sirs?" The Showman was on guard, eyes narrowed and watching carefully for any signs of aggression.
"Ah, he's a devout follower of Lord Viper himself, very covetous this one is. Terribly sorry but it would be in everyone's best interest if we were to collect and leave the place in one piece." Plagg smiled, fangs fully on display which kicked up the tension a few notches.
"Ah we can certainly make an exception but the prices do change for those in a hurry to get to the breaking in part. Do you have your own collars for your purchases?"
"Now now, it's not nice to insult paying customers, good sir." A black gloved hand produced two simple collars, the scent of ash faintly stirring the air.
"Ah, this way then." With a couple of gestures, two lizard demons who posed at security moved through the crowds and collected the cages, going down a different hallway then the trio did. The lanterns glowed eerily with the Hell Fire flames, Plagg and Sass having to bite back their power to prevent a surge in the flames and revealing themselves to the scum they were forced to follow.
"Alright, very simple to do. I'll deactivate the collars and you can place yours, once secure then I'll remove the standard ones. Precautions you know…"
Sharing a glance they split and stood in front of their chosen. The slimey demon brought over two charged stem crystals and with a small fizz of power the collars were deactivated. Sass noted the little mouse seemed upset but not scared as expected, carefully he stepped closer and leaned down slightly to secure the 'collar', a small whisp of smoke puffed to signal the lock was in place. Taking the other charged stem, the Showman waved it nearby and the slave collars fell off into his hands.
"Thank you for your time and interest gentleman, enjoy your investments!" Waving them to follow one of the guards and the other bringing up the rear, the four made their way out of the illegal catacombs market. Continuing on for a few tense miles until they were sure the guards had indeed returned, they stopped.
"Alright, introductions! I would happen to be Chat Noir, ruler of all the darkness and destruction. For stealth purposes please refer to me as Plagg."
"Viperion, Lord of Time and Incubi. Code name Sass."
"Kagami, a devout Longg follower. I work under the name Ryuoko." The dragon dusted herself off nonchalantly, eyes piercing in their intent to gage how much of a threat the two lords were.
"Multimouse, a converted Mullo follower."  Viperion ignored the sly grin and everything that it said from his fellow demon lord.
"So what's the plan?" Ryuoko asked, smirking.
"Well, do what we do best…" Blue eyes turned a shimmering green and emerald green took on an acid yellow green shine.
"Destroy those who break the Seven Hells contract." Each collar shifted into a choker, a reaction to the sudden leak of power from demon lords, this would boost both female demon's powers as well as protect them. The time of reckoning was at hand.

A new partnership - Chap 39
Chapter 39 (Double Update)

https://www.wattpad.com/1008293457-a-new-partnership-good-afternoon
The next evening Yi sat in her bedroom in front of her desk doing homework. Beside her under the lamp sat Longg seeing her work, then watched the girl pause to yawn, then Longg got up to walk to the other side of the table to grab a green pear and brought it to the girl.
“Here take a break and eat this,” Longg offered watching Yi nod and accept the fruit.
“Thanks,” Yi responded taking a bite of the fruit, then took out the controller of her TV and turned it on showing an advertisment with Jagged Stone playing on his guitar on the top of an airliner. Yi got up and walked across the apartment passing by the mother which sat on the couch on her laptop, then observed the daughter head to the garden.
“You’re done with your homework?” Questioned the mother.
“I’m just studying mom. Now I’m going to get some fresh air,” Yi noted getting out of the house, then she leaned herself on the wall and looked up to see the dark skyline.
“You know with the time I really enjoy it to be here in Paris. It’s not as big as Shanghai, but it’s quite beautiful,”
“Mostly during the night,” Longg added earning a nod from his holder.
“I haven’t had much time to enjoy Paris’ beauty at night the way I did back in Shanghai,” Longg nodded at Yi’s comment, then heard a laughter and looked up to see the superhero Onyx jump at the building, where Yi is from and noticed the girl on the outside and jumped down at the grass landing in front of the girl.
“Good evening,” Onyx greeted approaching girl, which smiled seeing the cat miraculous holder visiting her.
“Wasn’t expecting to have a visit right now,” Yi mentioned watching Onyx put his baton back, then leaned on the wall next to her. “What are you doing here?”
“I was taking a stroll through the city to get some air and thought on checking out, if you were here,” Answered the raven-haired hero. “You’re alone?”
“My mom is in there,” Yi answered. “So I wouldn’t do anything, that would make her think you’re Jin or anything worse,”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be careful,” Onyx mentioned. “In case she gets here, I just say I’m visiting random citizens for…..professional reasons,”
“I wonder what kind of excuse that it,”
“Don’t worry she won’t do anything unless she catches me doing this,” Onyx pointed out followed by pecking the girl on her cheek making her wide her eyes.
“Hey! I’m serious Jin, she could…...ugh see? I already said your civilian by mistake,” Yi complained crossing her arms.
“Okay, probably I should pass by later or…..,”
“No, you can stay here with no problem, we just…...have to be careful,” Yi mentioned making Onyx nod, then Yi looked into the living room to see her mother getting up heading into the bathroom closing the door behind her. “My mom just got into the bathroom. Do you want something to drink or to eat?” Offered Yi making Onyx shrug his shoulders.
“It’s not necessary, I’m good. Just finished dinner about 20 minutes ago,”
“Okay, what do you want to do then?” Onyx asked watching Yi sit down on the grass, then Onyx sat beside her and looked at the girl observing the dark sky.
“I don’t know. I just came here to get some fresh air,” Explained Yi making Onyx nod. “I was studying before for History,”
“You’ve got an exam tomorrow?” Questioned the hero making Yi shake her head.
“No, but next Friday,”
“Good luck then, I have next week Algebra,” Onyx mentioned. “I began with studying 15 to 20 minutes per day to make it through with it at the same time we’re dealing with Hawk Moth’s akumas. “Then we’ve got French and Philosophy,”
“How are you going to handle all these three exams?” Questioned Yi making Onyx shrug his shoulders.
“Well, I will mostly focus on Algebra and Philosophy. French, I’ll do it a few days before. It’s just about the conjugation in the past, the present, or the future. It’s fine for now,”
“If this superhero thing will take a long while I better start to practice in holding the grades good until I get up to a newer grade. I really wonder how the other heroes deal with this,”
“I think so far, they’re all younger than I am. Ladybug told me on the times I was new to the team, that she was 15 and she has to deal with all these pressure of being a superhero and dealing with private life issues almost all on her own,”
“Maybe she doesn’t have anyone in her life, that she can talk about both sides of her life,”
“You know she got to feel better with the time, cause I offered her to talk with me and I tried to give her any helpful solution. ‘Til now, she has been feeling better about it,”
“You did well then. It did the same to me as you or Marinette’s friends talked to me because of my father. Also thanks to these akuma situations I got to see my father in the afterlife. I think better it couldn’t have been for me,” Yi explained. “It’s amazing how a simple conversation can make you feel better in some moments,”
“Yes it really does,” Onyx added, then he heard a female voice and got up to glance at the window to see his mother’s friend get closer to the exit of the garden. “It’s your mother looking for you,” Onyx mentioned watching Yi get up to see, where she was going afterward the mother stepped out making Yi fake a smile.
“Hey mom,” Yi greeted, then looked at Onyx, which copied Yi’s facial expression and waved at the adult.
“Good evening,” Onyx greeted the adult. “Don’t worry, I’m just…...strolling around looking for potential danger. So far everything is good here,”
“Funny, I thought I had heard Jin’s voice out here,” Chynna mentioned making Onyx fake a laughter.
“No, actually it’s just me and this young lady here,” Onyx lied earning a nod from the adult. “If you excuse me, I will have to go. Have a nice evening you two, “ Onyx wished saluting at the two Asian descendant women, then he jumped at the top of the fence and used his baton to jump up at the top of the building.
“Was he really patrolling around?” Yi’s mother asked making Yi shrug her shoulders.
“He wasn’t really long here, mom,” Yi said making the mother nod. “I’m going back into my room,”
“Okay, but hey don’t you want to watch TV with me?” Suggested the mother entering into the living room with the daughter, then Yi looked at the turned-off screen and nodded.
“Sure, I’m sorry if I have been so absent lately,” Yi responded sitting down on the couch along with the mother, which turned on the TV showing a parody of a musketeer jump around trying to escape bullets. “If you want you can change the channel,”
“It’s okay for me, I just want to be spending time with my little girl,” Chynna mentioned watching Yi lean her head on her mother’s shoulder, afterward the woman placed her arm around the girl to pet her.
At the hospital, Nathaniel lied in his bed while Nino sat on a chair in front of the boy texting on his phone while chatting with the redhead.
“You know yesterday was a little an unlucky day for many of us. Luka just did that because Ladybug needed someone to help her and Onyx out until Hydra came. In anyways your mother and Alya would have found it strange if we would just take your miraculous off or anything right in a situation like this,”
“I still don’t feel like telling my mom all of this with the akumas. I believe Ladybug also wants to be present during the talk to help me out. How else can I alone explain why I got the snake miraculous. For some reason Ladybug picked me. It either was fate, fear, or just a lucky shot. I never expected to have the chance of becoming a superhero and I did take the chance,”
“If I may ask dude, why exactly did you accept the miraculous?” Questioned Nino. “Did you just do that, because you always wanted to be a hero?”
“Yeah…..and sort of I had a crush on Ladybug since the day she saved me on my birthday and I hoped to be able to impress her. In the end, it didn’t work out in any way as she was hitting on Onyx instead, afterward, she stopped and prefers to be single for the moment or just focus on her task,”
“And you still stood after that?”
“Yeah what else should I have done?” Questioned Nathaniel. “I don’t know why I am looking for a relationship,”
“There are other girls worth your attention, don’t worry,” Nino assured. “That person could even be closer to you than you think. Did I ever think about Alya being the future girlfriend of mine? Nope,”
“I guess not,”
“Why did Ladybug pick you to help her? Uh I mean why did you accept it?”
“On that day Alya got kidnapped by her older sister, which was akumatized into a spider-like supervillain. I was trying to get her back to prove her older sister I could take care of us and I think Ladybug valued my bravery and gave me the miraculous to help her out. Fighting Anansi was hard, but it wouldn’t take the same cake as fighting Jake Scene. It got annoying with the times he showed up outta nowhere and his soundtrack began to play. It made no sense, there were no radios, no stereos or anything to play the music, dude!”
“I know, it was a weird day,”
“You weren’t present dude?”
“No, you could hear the soundtrack everywhere. I could hear it in the panic room too,”
“Okay, that was weird,” Confessed Nino which looked at his phone vibrating to see posting a message in the superhero chat.
“Next morning a meet up on the top of the Trocadero. Topic: Absence of Super Snake. Super Snake, I will pass by you tomorrow at some point in the day. Be ready to expect me,
“It’s for your Super Snake side,” Nino warned earning a nod from the redhead.
“I check it out later, my phone is charging right now,” Nathaniel advised. “I’m curious to know what the future plans of her are at the moment without my absence,”
“Same or what Hawk Moth will do next. If it gets worse it will be hard for them to deal with the akumas like yesterday with Lila and Marc,”
“Yes….by the way, didn’t they say, they would come with you?”
“Lila’s mom had the idea to arrange a bodyguard for her thinking that would solve the situation and Marc didn’t want to come alone,”
“Okay, that’s odd. We weren’t alone here. He would have us or at least me,”
“You know Marc sort of has…..trust issues,”
“Oh…...I thought we were good friends and that we could trust each other,”
“It’s not that, it’s more…..you know he has a crush on a certain somebody and he’s afraid this specific person doesn’t reciprocate the feelings,”
“He does?” Nathaniel asked curious earning a nod from Nino.
“Yeah,”
“That explains a lot,” Nathaniel said. “His stammering, his behavior around us in the break..... He has fallen in love with Lila!”
“Yes dude, finally!” Nino shouted jumping up in the air, then he widened his eyes, then looked down at Nathaniel. “Wait…..Lila?” “Of course! This is also maybe why he was interested in the first place to have her befriend us. He was curious to know her and now that we got closer he has fallen in love with her,”
“Oh boy,” Nino said doing a facepalm at Nathaniel’s comment. “I’m losing my patience,”
“Give them some time. Now that I’m here, they have a bigger chance in getting to know each other more than with me around. Please help him out, when it is necessary,”
“You’re killing me, dude. Look I have to go, I was supposed to get my mother lemons before the stores close,”
“Okay, then see you tomorrow or….?”
“We’ll see about that. Rest well, brother,” Nino wished patting him on his shoulder, then made his way out of the hospital leaving Nathaniel back, which looked out of the windows to see in the far the superhero Onyx pass over the buildings heading to the champs de mars, then the boy pulled the covers up to take some rest.

Ghost Bug- Ikari Gozen- A Tale of Dragons
Blame @fantasyfandommaiden for this. She’s the one who encouraged me to do it. Think of this as my gift to you all for 1,000 followers.
“Elsa?” Hiccup asked. “Hmm?” She replied, giving him a small smile. It almost broke his resolve like it had so many times before. But this time was different...he hoped. “Elsa, we’ve known each other ever since you first used the Miraculous all those years ago... And even then, you always stood out to me.” He began. The Dragons quickly realized what was happening and subtly eavesdropped to watch. Elsa frowned at his words, and he quickly corrected himself.
“Not in a bad way! Just...Woah, you were and still are amazing, and I guess what I’m trying to say is...” He continued, but cut himself off when a familiar sound was heard. The Dragon Miraculous was being activated.
“OH, COME ON!” Anna yelled. Zephyr and Nuffink only groaned in annoyance. Honestly, they should’ve seen this coming.
They all grunted in pain as they found themselves in a very cramped space.
“Ooh, felt that one.” Anna groaned.
“Nuff, quit poking me with your ribs!” Zephyr scolded. “It’s called breathing, Zeph!” Nuffink retorted.
“Can someone tell Toothless to stop slobbering right on my face?” Marian asked dryly. “At least you’re not on the other end.” Aria hissed.
“Ow, ow, my leg!” Mulan yelled. “Sorry.” Doragonesu apologized.
“Whose hand is that?” Elsa asked sharply. “My bad,” Zeus admitted. “Can you not? Just for once?” Hiccup asked, and smiled a little as Anna reached over and punched Zeus in the shoulder. “Oh, there you are, right on time! Everyone, meet Miss Kagami, the newest of the Dragons.” Longg greeted. “W-who are they?!” A young girl asked.
“I’ll introduce them later. Anyway, back to the instructions. To transform, all you need to say is ‘Longg, bring the storm.’ The powers are Wind Dragon, Water Dragon, and Lightning Dragon. Allow me to tell you about the many feats that a magic being like myself will help you accomplish once the magic words have been spoken. Ladybug has hopes that you will defeat Ikari Gozen with panache using the element of your choosing, wind, water, or lightning. But firstly, let me tell you about her plan.” Longg ranted. “Longg, bring the storm!” Kagami cried. “No, not ye-aahhh!” Longg cried as he was sucked into the Miraculous and Kagami transformed. She quickly invoked Wind Dragon and escaped.
“Well, she’s not a Dragon if she isn’t ready for a fight,” Mulan admitted. With that, the Dragons followed her outside. “Speaking of which, where is the-OH MY GOODNESS WHAT IS THAT THING?!” Anna yelled as they saw Ikari Gozen. “Whatever it is, I’m glad she can’t see us,” Hiccup muttered. “That’s Ikari Gozen. Someone got hold of the Moth Miraculous and has been using it for evil, creating akumas instead of champions. This is the latest Akuma.” Piao Chong explained. “Sisters!” Doragonesu greeted as soon as she saw Tentomushi and Kuro Neko. The trio laughed and cried a little as they went in for a group hug. It had been so long since they’d seen each other.
“I see you’ve met the new Seahorse.” Mulan deduced as they watched the fight, “And is that the new Baby Bug and Kitten?” “Yes, Adrien Agreste and Marinette Dupain Cheng. They actually know Kagami. I have a feeling they will work well together.” Piao Chong replied. “Whoo! Go, Ryuuko!” Zeus cheered. They had to admit, Kagami was a pretty good fighter. Ladybug made the right choice in giving her the Dragon. They all gasped in fear as they saw Ikari Gozen go for a blow they knew Ryuuko wouldn’t be able to dodge. Felix groaned as Cat Noir took the blow for her and then got swallowed by Ikari Gozen. “And that’s our cue,” Mulan instructed as Ladybug and Ryuuko retreated. The Dragons quickly followed the duo.
“I behaved hastily. I failed. I’m not worthy to fight beside you.” Ryuuko said sullenly. Oh, dear. She had the complex too. Well, a Dragon wasn’t a Dragon if they hated failure. “Hey, don’t worry. Not everyone succeeds in their first mission.” Mulan reassured. “You should’ve seen Zeus here when he first started.” Tefnut teased, earning a glare from his teammate. “We all make mistakes, Kagami. But that doesn’t matter. What matters is whether you keep fighting. So, what will you do?” Mulan asked. Ryuuko looked shocked, then smiled. “Keep fighting.” She answered confidently.
“Exactly what I wanted to hear. Now, here’s the plan.” Ladybug instructed. Everyone watched with anticipation as the fight continued, and breathed a collective sigh of relief as Ladybug purified the Akuma.  The Dragons and Bugs followed their current Holders into an alleyway. They watched with a bit of sadness as Kagami gave the Miraculous back. “Don’t rule her out just yet, petit. Kagami’s an excellent fighter. She’ll be very useful in the future.” Marie reasoned. “I know, Mamie.” Ladybug replied. “Goodby, Ladybug. And thank you.” Kagami said. “You’re very welcome.” Ladybug responded. And with that, she zipped away.
Kagami hung her head a little and was shocked when she turned to see the ghosts were still there. “B-but, I thought-” She started. “Do you still want to be Ryuuko?” Mulan asked. “Yes...” Kagami answered slowly. “Then here we’ll stay.” Mulan said simply, “And now that the fight’s over, we can properly introduce ourselves.” “Hiccup, what did you wanna say to me?” Elsa whispered. Hiccup was about to say it was nothing but then saw his kids giving him a warning glare. He took a deep breath. ‘Here goes nothing’ He thought.

Making room for someone new (chapter 2)
First || Next
Read on AO3
Second part of my story for @marigami-week! I’m still technically on time (in my time zone), though I’m much closer to the end of the day than planned.
Enjoy! :-)
Kagami woke up warm, and happier than she remembered being in a very long time. Though on a regular day she had no issue immediately rolling out of bed to get dressed, today she just snuggled further into the warmth with a contented hum.
Moments later, her bed shifted beneath her, and Kagami’s eyes snapped open in surprise. She was met with the sight of a sleep-mussed Marinette, hair askew and mouth slightly open as she breathed evenly. Kagami herself was against Marinette’s side, one leg slung across hers and an arm pulling Marinette close enough to be as much under her as beside her.
Though she prided herself on her control over her emotions, since there was no one (conscious) around to judge her, Kagami allowed herself a moment of being completely flustered at the position she found herself in. Was this normal for sleepovers? She presumed not, given that Marinette had set them up two separate beds to sleep in. Kagami must have fallen asleep during the movie and trapped Marinette there with her.
But if that was true, that meant Marinette was stuck there more out of a reluctance to wake her than as a choice. Would Marinette be angry? Given her past actions, it was unlikely that she would yell at or be deliberately cruel to Kagami, but making your host uncomfortable was surely the fastest way to ensure no further invitations. And despite herself, Kagami had really enjoyed the chance to spend more time with Marinette. She would be quite disappointed to never be given the opportunity again.
Kagami shifted a bit to try and create an opening to slip out of the blanket that tied them together, but her shifting seemed only to rouse Marinette slightly. Marinette rolled toward her, flipping their positions and burying her face in Kagami’s neck.
Kagami felt as though her face was on fire. She had always scoffed at such depictions, especially in the context of romance – after all, she had never stooped so low as to become a blushing mess around Adrien, and he was the one she chose to crush on.
But now, every trite expression Kagami had dismissed haunted her. The blood rushed to her face, her heart pounded much more furiously than normal in her chest, and her breath caught in her throat. Having Marinette close was more ruinous to Kagami’s composure than any amount of exposure to her crush – but of course, that was silly. Kagami was crushing on Adrien. These aberrant reactions would dissipate once she fully finished waking up and moved somewhere cooler.
Unable to free herself from Marinette pinning her, Kagami decided that the only way to get out would probably be to swallow her pride and wake Marinette. Though this would make their positions obvious to Marinette and probably cause her to avoid Kagami out of discomfort, it was still preferable to her waking up to a wide-awake Kagami and wondering how long she had been awake, leaving them in this position without any effort to wake her sleeping friend.
Mind set, Kagami reached up to gently jostle her sholder. “Marinette. Wake up.” Marinette just mumbled something sleepily an buried her face further into the crook of Kagami’s neck, which was entirely unhelpful. Kagami tried again, to the same effect.
Giving up on the subtle approach, Kagami shook her hard enough to startle the girl awake. “Ah! I’m up, I’m up!” Marinette flailed in her panic to stand, which only further entangled them in the thick blanket. Kagami’s eyes met wide blue ones, each pausing to take in the other before Marinette’s face began to take on a pretty pink flush. “Sorry Kagami, I guess we must have fallen asleep after the movie!” She began to disengage herself from the blanket burrito, freeing both of them. Illogically, Kagami missed the closeness.
Kagami shook her head in response, “It was my fault, as I was the one to fall asleep first.” Internally, she was just glad that Marinette did not seem too upset; though she knew herself capable of living without friends, something about the idea had become… strongly distasteful since getting the chance to actually interact with others her age.
Marinette just smiled at her. “I think we were both a bit too tired last night. How about I go check downstairs with my parents and see what we’re doing for breakfast? You can get ready up here while I’m gone.”
At a nod from Kagami, Marinette left for the downstairs. Kagami showered quickly, noting the different soaps Marinette kept haphazardly piled at one corner of the tub. Some part of her expected them to be scented “warm vanilla sugar” or something similar, but it seems like Marinette’s scent came entirely from living in and above the bakery as opposed to artificial scents – the bottles ranged from “coffee” to “lavender” to “original fresh,” but nothing that Kagami would instinctually associate with the baker’s daughter.
After getting clean, Kagami stepped out and dried off. There seemed to be some sort of commotion downstairs. If she had to bet, she would place the shrill screeching as Chloé’s, to absolutely no one’s surprise. She dressed back in a clean outfit – a black button-up and jeans that she had packed for herself earlier, simple and yet classic. The entire building shook violently, and her eyes widened: an akuma.
The violent roar of an enraged akuma came from downstairs. Before she could do anything else, another tremor shook the building. Kagami toppled over into a corner of the room, sending a flurry of fabric scraps and random object tumbling across the floor. She bent to try and sweep the scaps at her feet bck into a haphazard pile, so as not to make a mess of Marinette’s space. Just as she lifted a large piece of black felt, her eye caught on what was underneath – a small black box with red engraving that had popped open, spilling two smooth earrings onto the floor. The back of her neck prickled with familiarity, and Kagami felt miles away from herself, watching as if from a distance as her hand reached out to scoop up the dark earrings.
There was a bright flash of light, and before her floated a kwami: its colors were similar to Longg’s, but while Longg was unmistakably modeled after a dragon, this little creature was a…
“Ladybug,” she breathed out in a trance. The little ladybug kwami floated there in shock, clearly unsure of what to do. At that moment, the entire building rattled again, which seemed to break the kwami out of its daze.
“Kagami. You cannot tell anyone that you saw me.”
“I will not, I swear it.”
The bug seemed dubious, but left the topic for now and looked around the room. “Where is Marinette?”
Kagami blinked. This kwami was in Marinette’s room. It came from magical earrings. And once released, its first instinct was to look for Marinette. So many puzzle pieces she didn’t know she had been holding suddenly slotted perfectly into place.
While she would certainly revisit this whole revalation later, now wasn’t the time or place. She locked eyes with the little creature, and said, “Marinette went downstairs a little while ago, perhaps twenty minutes or so, and was there when the akuma happened. Should I take the earrings to her?”
Without responding, the kwami phased down through the floorboards, leaving Kagami alone in the intermittently rattling room by herself, staring down at the jewelry in her hands and reconsidering her whole life. If Marinette was Ladybug, that meant that the first day they really met each other, Marinette had been willing to entrust her with Longg. Even in spite of Marinette’s own previously negative feelings toward her and her friend’s disparaging comments, she had been willing to give Kagami a chance.
Kagami had not realized until now, either, just how selfless Marinette was. She already knew that Marinette donated much (in her own opinion, too much) of her free time for the good of others, mending their clothes, building them projects, and baking them treat. Once her time superheroing was factored into the equation, it was clear Marinette gave so much of herself, that Kagami was surprised there was anything left at all.
They would have to discuss this – Kagami would need to apologize for her discovery, and thank Marinette for the hundred ways she had been wonderful. And after that, Kagami would et Marinette to eat and sleep and take a break once in a while, protecting Marinette from any who would take advantage of such a kind person.
Perhaps Marinette wouldn’t want to be friends with Kagami after today, since she had already screwed up so much and it was only the morning. But Kagami swore to herself that she would do her best to support Marinette, so matter in what capacity she was allowed to do so.
The kwami phased back through the floor. Objectively, Kagami was aware that the little god was the same color as before, but somehow she still got the impression of sickly paleness from the kwami. Before she could say a word, it said, “We don’t have much time. The akuma took Marinette, who I know you know is Ladybug, and we need someone out there to fight it with Chat.”
“Where should I take you to find a new holder?”
It stared at her gravely. “Kagami, we don’t have time for that. I need you to put the earrings on. Your transformation phrase is ‘Tikki, spots on.’ Understand?”
Kagami had officially become unable to process any of what was happening, but somehow she managed to nod and slip the arrings on. She stood to go to Marinette’s full body mirror, the kwami – Tikki, she said – trailing behind anxiously.
Locking eyes with herself, Kagami slipped in to her focused mindspace. Mother had drilled the importance of a calm mind, and had taught her from a young age how to push aside emotion or pain in the pursuit of victory. Summoning steely determination, Kagami said, “Tikki, spots on.”
When the glow of magic faded away, she was left with the tingling feeling of strength and grace and power and magic that she remembered from her transformation with Longg. She was left in a thin but flexable black bottom layer to her suit, with red polka-dotted armor layered on top in a clear facsimile of a ladybug’s coloring.
Kagami looked at her spots in the mirror – Ladybug’s spots, Marinette’s spots, odd and out of place on a clear newcomer such as herself – and cracked a cold smile.
Even if this was her last day of friendship with Marinette, she still cared for her friend deeply… and if that akuma had hurt her in any way, there would be hell to pay.

Off to Rust - Chapter 12
Chapter 12

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13415645/12/Off-to-Rust

The next morning Adrien leaned on the wall looking at his smartphone on his profile at posted images of his friends, while the rest of the class were sleeping. The door next to him opened up and Kagami got out, then Adrien placed his phone back and the two walked together out of the room and walked the corridor along.
“Did you sleep well tonight?” Adrien asked earning a nod from Kagami.
“Really good” Kagami answered. “What about you?”
“Also good” The blonde responded, then the two arrived at the elevator, where a bellhop came out pulling a small cart with suitcases on it and Adrien extended his arms out at the entrance to sign the friend to get in first making her smile and enter, followed by the blonde.
“Thanks,” Kagami said watching Adrien press the EG button, then the two stood beside each other watching the elevator close its door.
“Remember the week I left with my father to a photoshoot at one of Europe’s largest shopping malls?” Adrien asked earning a nod from the girl. “They had these elevators with only the doors and alarm buttons on the inside and you had to press for the level you had to go on the outside”
“Well that’s different”
“Yeah, it’s kind of complicated, when more people are around and need to wait longer when certain elevators don’t stop where they want,”
“Sounds weird. I never saw that”
“Well, that’s almost a year ago, maybe I got it wrong saved in my head. But I remember the buttons on the outside”
“Alright,” Kagami answered, then the elevator opened the door and the two headed out making their way to the restaurant to the buffet, where people were getting their breakfast together.
“I’m going to get myself Muesli, some cereals, cheese and some orange juice” Adrien mentioned ribbing his hands together making Kagami chuckle at his big lust of food in the morning.
“I’ll be fine with Muesli” Kagami responded. “That’s quite delicious”
“Yeah, it is” Adrien agreed standing behind the queue with Kagami looking at the two kids in front of them getting themselves cereals.
“If you want I can already take you some cereals” Kagami suggested making Adrien shrug his shoulders, then both moved forward as the queue went further, then as Adrien had been in line together with the blue-haired girl he reached for the jug and she grabbed it first, followed by Adrien grabbing her on the top of her hand widening his eyes in surprise at the coincidence. Adrien grinned abashed at the situation, while Kagami smiled amused at his reaction, then he took his hand down and let Kagami put the cereals on his bowl and she gave the bowl back to him earning a soft smile of the blonde. Kagami moved on, then Adrien followed her and stopped to pick up the muesli mixture with the yogurt and various types of cut fruit and moved on passing by Kagami close to the buffet with the various types of cheese and raw meat and Adrien looked behind him for anyone to be looking at him, then he opened his jacket for Plagg to look out at the amount of cheese, afterward, he rolled his tongue out drooling at the sight of the large variations of milk products, then Adrien picked a fork and picked out one of each sort up onto a plate he took from a pile next to the buffet.
“You’re the best Adrien,” Plagg said making the blonde smile, which continued and stopped behind Kagami, which was at the fruit buffet trying to find a fruit she wanted to take.
Adrien heard a child applauding, then he looked across the room to see a man carrying on his two arms five plates to the table where his wife, two kids and the clapping infant were giving Adrien an idea, then he adjusted his muesli bowl on his right hand, then added his cheese plate over the bowl at his thumb and his small finger then moved his arm a little to check the safety and raised his free arm in victory. Adrien went behind Kagami, which took onto her plate a slice of bread and looked through the round Étagère and picked out a honey-flavored cream out and she looked back to see Adrien carrying the plates differently.
“Nice” Kagami mentioned, then Adrien moved his free hand signaling her to give him out her plate. “Okay” She gave him her one plate with the muesli and had only the one with the apple and bread on it.
“Put your last plate over the fingers here,” Adrien asked making Kagami crease her eyebrows a little worried about his idea.
“Are you sure about that?”
“Yes, I’ll do fine,” Adrien said, then Kagami added carefully her plate over Adrien’s fingers, then he walked along with her towards the table, then he slowed down as on his right hand his cheese plate began to move.
“Do you need help?” Kagami asked watching Adrien shake his head, moving further to the table, then Kagami observed him approach the table, then he stopped at the table to figure out how to put all the four plates down.
“Well, I forgot how that guy did that” Adrien mentioned watching Kagami take the fourth plate down.
“Come you can do those three,” Kagami said watching Adrien place Kagami’s muesli in front of the table and at the same moment the cheese plate on his arms felt down and Adrien tried to catch it, but failed.
“Didn’t go the way I expected” Adrien said placing his muesli down on the table, then he went down to pick up the cheese along with the help of Kagami. “Sorry, I had found this move fascinating and wanted to show it to you, but it’s not as easy as it looked like”
“I found it cute, that you tried it out” Kagami mentioned dropping the cheese bits along with Adrien on the plate. “You just need to know how to hold your balance with them and you will make it well”
“Exactly” Adrien agreed, then he got up along with her and he pulled out quick a chair for Kagami to sit down, making Kagami shake her head playfully at Adrien’s gentleman behavior, then she sat down on the chair and Adrien took the seat in front of her.
“I can’t believe today is our last day here at the park” Kagami mentioned. “And we haven’t managed to see all of it”
“I know” Adrien agreed. “I still want to visit the great one in silver,”
“The one going around the park?” Kagami asked earning a nod from the blonde. “I believe you”
“So far I know only around three or four attractions are missing. Until the end of our day, probably around 5 pm or otherwise, Mr. D’Argencourt says something else we will have visited them too. Eventually, we might be able to repeat one or two”
“We will have to see it when the others are here too”
“Yes and while they’re up there, we’ve got enough time to breakfast together and chat until they get ready too” Adrien mentioned earning a nod from Kagami, then both began to eat and Adrien observed Kagami eating and his kwami pulled the blonde on the shirt and pointed at the girl, making Adrien wide his eyes at Plagg’s signal. “Kagami, when we’re back in Paris…..what would you say, if someone like a good friend of yours wanted to go out with you to I don’t know….a an evening at the cinema or a picnic as an example. What would you say?” Adrien asked making Kagami titter shortly at his question.
“You’re asking me out on a date?” She asked making Adrien shrug his shoulders.
“Well, it’s not necessarily a date, unless you want to?” The blonde responded, making the girl smile and place her hand in the middle of the table.
“I’d love to go out with you” Kagami answered. “Even if we got the strictest parents in the world we’ll find a way or another to have one”
Adrien smiled and placed his hand on Kagami’s making her smile, then he slowly leaned his head forwards going in for a kiss, then someone screamed shrieking Adrien and Kagami, which looked to the direction of the scream to spot on the ground Adrien’s kwami Plagg look at the woman in shock as she had noticed him. Plagg sat down on the floor like a cat and meowed.
“Where did that cat come from?” Kagami asked making Adrien shrug his shoulders, then Plagg disappeared under the table.
“I will take care of this cat ma’am. It’s just a kitten” Adrien mentioned.
“It looks like a rat!” The woman complained about it with a disgusted face, then Adrien got under the tablecloth to catch Plagg nibbling on a bit of cheese.
“Plagg, are you crazy?”
“I was for two seconds on the ground and that woman decided to scream her lungs out calling me a rat” Plagg complained. “Do I look like a rat to you?”
“Of course not” Adrien mentioned. “Come we have to pretend, that I’m getting you out of here before someone of the staff does it”
“Okay” Plagg answered, then Adrien moved his head out of the table and got up.
“I’m going to bring this kitten out of here” Adrien mentioned picking the plate with the cheese, then walked out of the restaurant at the corridor and entered into the first door, which was a laundry room. “Okay we’re safe,” Adrien said. “I just wonder, if there’s a light”
“Maybe next to the door” Plagg mentioned, then Adrien searched at the door for the light, then someone opened the door and Adrien turned on the light and shut his eyes wide as he spotted Kagami there looking at him bewildered.
“Uh…..” Adrien gazed at the girl confused while Plagg floated beside the blonde looking at the girl too.
“What’s up?” Plagg asked making Kagami furrow her eyebrows at the comment, then Adrien pulled Kagami into the laundry room and closed the door behind them.
“Is that a kwami?” Kagami asked, then Adrien placed his index finger in front of Kagami to shush her followed by watching her turn a little pink on her cheeks.
“You won’t tell that anyone, right?” Adrien asked earning a nod from the blue-haired girl. “Yes, this is my kwami Plagg. I’m the one, that is hidden under Cat Noir’s mask and I also know, that you know about kwamis, at least about Longg,”
“Well I had noticed during the times I saw you fighting as Cat Noir and the times we fenced together how alike your fighting style was and the jokes you two make. I had no doubts that you could be him, otherwise, it could also be a coincidence”
“You were right all along” Adrien pointed out. “Why did you follow me actually?”
“I had the feeling you may have needed help if it really was a kwami, so I followed you so I could help you out, when necessary”
“We’re fine for now. I managed to get out of there and I think no one else saw him” Adrien explained, then he heard Plagg burp after he ate a few cheese bits from the plate. “But hey it’s great, that you know about my other life. You know how hard it is to keep things to yourself you can’t talk with no one else besides Plagg? I mean some things are fine, others Plagg can’t really help me out, cause he’s not familiar with them,”
“I believe you that” Kagami answered making Adrien smile, then behind them the door opened and a hotel manager appeared and shrieked as she caught Adrien there with Kagami, which noticed the woman there.
“Oh, you caught me overeating cheese” Adrien pretended to be shocked at Kagami being there with him, making the woman furrow her eyebrows bewildered at the blonde’s behavior.
“Oh, what a pity. What if we didn’t have your medicine?” Kagami asked. “You’d be having issues with your digestion,” Kagami said grabbing him by the arm guiding him out while carrying the plate, then the woman entered into the room and the two friends looked back to see the woman was gone.
“Well played” Adrien complimented. “Thanks for the save”
“That’s what friends are here for” Kagami responded. “But if you don’t mind, I’d like to know how you feel about your second part of your life. But just if you want to say it, I’m okay if you think you should keep that for yourself”
“When we’re alone or away from here I’d like to tell you some stories, if you’d like to” Adrien answered, then noticed the twins enter into the restaurant along with Jean, then Adrien pointed it out to Kagami, which nodded. “They’re here”
“We could already discuss, where to go together when the park opens up” Kagami mentioned earning a nod from the blonde and both disappeared into the hall of the restaurant to meet up with the other boys of the fencing class.

Congratulations
A drabble inspired by @lenoreofraven ‘s Liladrien AU. In which Marinette must be protected, Adrien’s an idiot, Kagami is ready to make heads roll, and Viperion is a good bf.
Kagami had enough of this. It was time to give Adrien a piece of her mind. As she stalked towards the Agreste Mansion, she was vaguely aware that she probably looked very much like her superhero self at the moment; with her steely glare and looming walk. But she couldn’t quite bring herself to care; she had a sister to avenge. If it was up to her, she’d be doing this a lot sooner, back when it all began.
The day had started fine enough, she walked to school joking and laughing with her sisters. It was a perfect moment in her eyes, a much-needed break from Lila. But it only went downhill from there. Chloe made a terrible pun as they walked into the classroom, causing Kagami to roll her eyes and Marinette to giggle. However, the laughter died in her throat when she saw Lila. Only this time, it wasn’t just Lila that caused Marinette’s frown. The little witch was clinging to Adrien, bragging to the class that they were dating now! Kagami didn’t need to look at Marinette to know the poor girl had a heartbroken look on her face. Marinette rushed out of the classroom, and both Kagami and Chloe raced after her. When they found her in the bathroom crying, both Kagami and Chloe were ready to murder the liar and the idiot blonde. But Marinette stopped them.
“I’m fine, girls. Really. I don’t want you to do anything.” Marinette shakily reassured them through her tears. Both of them knew she was lying, but obeyed her wishes nonetheless. It only got harder from there. Lila took every chance she got that she was dating Adrien and Marinette wasn’t. Kagami and Chloe tried to keep Marinette away from the couple by distracting her with fashion magazines and hamster videos whenever they were near, and for a while, it seemed like it was helping. But this morning, things took a turn for the worse. When she saw the Akuma heading for Marinette in the locker room, she could’ve sworn she felt her heart stop. Within seconds, Chloe tackled Marinette in a bear hug and Kagami drew her sword and sliced the Akuma in half. She even stomped on it a few times for good measure. Suddenly, Marinette was sobbing again, blubbering something unintelligible.
“Mari, honey, use your words. Take a deep breath.” Kagami gently whispered as Chloe held her tighter. “I’m s-sorry. I k-know you want me to b-be happy, but I just can’t handle this. I can’t deal with her r-rubbing it in my face.” Marinette sobbed. And something in Kagami snapped then and there. She couldn’t take the sight of her sister so sad and helpless. She had to make the one responsible pay. Which was why she was here at Adrien’s house. She rang the doorbell and stood her ground as the camera popped out from the wall. “How may I help you?” She heard Nathalie say. “Good afternoon, I’m Adrien’s classmate. I’m here to drop off some homework for him.” She lied smoothly, holding up her own homework from science class. “Very well, please put it in the mailbox,” Nathalie replied. “Actually, he’s way behind on this subject. He said he wanted me to come in and give him some help with it.” Kagami lied again, barely keeping her cool. “Very well,” Nathalie said, sounding a bit annoyed. Kagami decided she couldn’t care less as she walked through the courtyard and into the house. She made sure to keep her sword out of view as she walked up the stairs. She didn’t bother knocking on Adrien’s bedroom door.
“Oh, hey, Kagami. What’s up? We haven’t talked in a while.” Adrien greeted. “And whose fault is that exactly?” Kagami snapped. “What do you mean?” Adrien asked confused. “Think about it, Adrien! What happened around the same time my sisters and I stopped talking to you?!” Kagami yelled. “I dated Lila?” Adrien thought out loud. “Yes. You dated Lila. A complete and total witch who lies with every breath, doesn’t care about anyone but herself, and is just trying to climb up the social ladder.” She all but hissed. Her temper only flew as Adrien shook his head. “Kagami, Lila can change. It’s just gonna take some time.” Adrien began to lecture, but Kagami wasn’t having any of this. “It’s been 6 months, Adrien! If she was gonna ever change, she would’ve done it a long time ago!” She snapped. “Kagami, change is a gradual process. I’ve spent a lot of time with her, and I’ve seen she’s capable of being nice. Just yesterday, she gave a homeless man some money.” He tried to reason. “She  lied about seeing a cockroach in the bakery yesterday.” She retorted. “Hey, she IS becoming nicer.  She even told me how she felt bad about everything that happened between her and Marinette.” He responded. Once again, the flames of Kagami’s fury roared. “ You mean everything SHE did to Marinette? Was that before or after she told Alya that Marinette tried to flirt with you and steal you from her?” She growled. “Marinette never flirted with me,” Adrien explained. “Exactly! Because of that witch, Alya and everyone else will hardly talk to Marinette anymore! Because. She. Lied to them! If you cared even remotely about my sister you would’ve done something to help her instead of taking the frigging high road like a coward.” She growled at him. “I think you’re blowing this a little out of proportion-” Adrien began, but Kagami cut him off. “ADRIEN, YOU BLONDE, COWARDLY IDIOT! BECAUSE OF YOU, MARINETTE WAS ALMOST AKUMATIZED! SO YOU DON’T GET TO SAY CRUD, BECAUSE UNLIKE ME YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE USED IN THAT WAY!” She yelled, but stopped herself before she could continue. This was about Marinette, not her. Marinette was the one who got hurt here, not her. She barely registered the shocked look on Adrien’s face, and his silence was all she needed.
“Whatever, I’m done.” She muttered bitterly as she stormed towards the door. “Kagami, wait-” Adrien started, gently grabbing her wrist. She responded by punching him in the eye. The second he hit the floor and let go of her, she had her sword at his throat. “Let me make this clear enough so even you can understand, Agreste. For the time being, Lila is an untouchable target. If I went after her, it wouldn’t end well. You, on the other hand, are a much easier target. The only thing keeping me from turning you into a kebab is Marinette. But even she can only keep you safe from me for so long. If I see you anywhere near my sister, you’re dead meat. Don’t ever speak to her again. Don’t ever look at her again. Got it.” Kagami growled lowly. Still, Adrien said nothing, but he looked very terrified; which filled Kagami with a little satisfaction. “Anyway, congratulations for making the dumbest choice of your life. Have fun spending the rest of it with an enabler and abuser.” She said mockingly. With that, she stormed out of the Agreste Mansion. After a few minutes of walking, she found a good alleyway that was hidden enough. “Are you okay, Dracling?” Longg asked quietly as he floated out of her jacket. “I’m fine, I just need to blow off some steam. Longg, flame on!” Kagami replied bitterly. With a burst of flame, Kagami’s normal clothes were replaced by her super suit. She let out a dragon-like growl as she felt her wings form, and took off like a rocket. Stunt flying usually worked to calm her down, but this was a special case. Long after dark, Dragon Empress was still flying and still angry. She landed on a building and drew her sword. She began sparring with the air (though in her mind’s eye, she was repeatedly stabbing Adrien), growling and grunting with each move she made. Suddenly, she heard someone clear her throat behind her. She growled and pointed her sword at the culprit.
“Woah, easy, Dragon Lady, it’s just me!” Viperion cried as he raised his hands. “Oh, sorry, Viperion.” Empress mumbled, feeling a little embarrassed. “You usually don’t spar this hard. Are you okay?” He asked worriedly. “Do I LOOK okay to you?!” Empress snapped. Her heart broke a little when she saw Viperion looked a little hurt. “I’m sorry, I’m just...really mad right now.” She said exasperatedly as she sat on the edge of the building. “Do you wanna talk about it? It might make you feel better.” He prompted gently as he sat down next to her. Empress huffed in response, but Viperion simply put an arm around her shoulders. After a few minutes of silence, Empress finally spoke. “So, you know that guy my sister has a crush on?” She asked as she leaned into him. Viperion hummed and nodded. “He’s been dating the girl who’s making her life miserable for 6 months now.” She explained. “And...you finally killed him?” He asked, making her snort a little. “No, but I kinda wish I did. My sister doesn’t want me to get involved...but I can’t help it, Snakey. She showed me what a real family is like. She’s so nice and selfless, she doesn’t deserve this! And the worst part is, I can’t do anything to stop it. The stupid witch has the whole frigging class wrapped around her pinkie. Thanks to her, my sister’s heartbroken. She barely smiles anymore, and even if she does, it’s hardly real. I feel...useless.” She ranted. Viperion pulled her in close. “Empress, you are one of the strongest people I know. You are NOT useless. You never have been and you never will be.” He whispered. “She was almost akumatized, Viperion.” She says solemnly, and she could feel him tense up. “I can’t let Hawkmoth get her. I WON’T. If she was ever akumatized, I...I don’t know what I’d do.” She whispered shakily. She wanted to cry so bad, but she couldn’t. Not in front of Viperion. She had to be strong. For Marinette. “With you as a sister, my Empress, I don’t think  Hawkmoth will ever akumatize your sister.” He comforted. “If he does, I’ll kill him.” She mumbled, making him chuckle a little.

Kagami was strolling on her own next to the streets beside the Seine river with her kwami looking out of her jacket at the sidewalk they were going.
„I or Plagg should have stood around to witness the person whoever did that to you two“
„It‘s alright Longg. I don‘t want to know anything about that“ Kagami mentioned earning a nod from the kwami.
„Just try to talk with him again, after we‘re back home“ Longg suggested. „Just let each other talk everything from your heart. I know Adrien regretted the words he said to you,“
„I know…...but it‘s so annoying right now“
„Don‘t worry, you two can figure it out together. Believe me“ Longg assured earning a nod from the adult.
In front of her at the bridge, that led to the isle, where her mother and Adrien‘s father home for abandoned animals stood were a few people crossing the bridge and one of the pedestrians was the fencing colleague Kagami knew from Japan Raiden, which minded his own business along with everyone else.
Kagami arrived at the crossroad to the bridge, then Raiden widened his eyes as he noticed her, then he crossed the road to greet her.
„Hey Kagami“ The man greeted.
„Hey“ Kagami responded. „You‘re out too?“
„One of the kids in the family that sustains me talked about here and I was close to it and decided to pass by“ Raiden answered. „I didn‘t know your mother owned this place“
„She does it along with Adrien‘s parents“ The blue-haired woman answered.
„Cool…..uhm hey this might sound a little too private, but what happened in the house? I‘ve encountered something…...something Adrien didn‘t know about it and he got a little upset,“
„I have no idea“ Kagami answered. „I haven‘t done anything and he‘s feeling insecure about it and can‘t or couldn‘t get the idea out of his head, that I could have betrayed him“
„I was shocked, cause I couldn‘t see any of you two do such a thing. I‘m not sure about Adrien, but he seemed really surprised about my finding“
„None of us was it. Someone dropped it there to trick us“ Kagami mentioned. „Are you sure, it already was there, when you were there?“ Kagami asked glancing at the man, which shrugged his shoulders.
„I had stepped on it. If it was there or not I didn‘t see“ Raiden answered. „You‘re not blaming me for something I don‘t know, aren‘t you?“ The raven-haired man asked looking at a neutral Kagami, which shook her head.
„Nope, I can‘t blame you without a proof. I can just think of you and Adrien as suspects if you two were the ones to notice it first“
„Couldn‘t Adrien be the one who…..used it with someone else?“
„No, he would never do such thing“ Kagami responded. „Mostly getting intimate with someone“
„And how are you sure about it?“ Raiden asked. „Some people can do so many things when we expect it the least“
„Adrien was very anxious before we had our very first time. He needed a little encouragement, mostly from my side due to my good knowledge about him“
„Okay, but we never know. Maybe he doesn‘t need that anymore?“ Raiden mentioned making Kagami roll her eyes.
„Are you trying to make me feel better or to get me into thinking differently about Adrien?“
„Uhm more of making you feel better and also just wanted to point out, that there could also be another reason why we caught this“
„Alright, and hey I don‘t want to talk about this. I just want to take my walk in peace and think about my life“
„Sure, sure“ Raiden answered walking along with the woman on the sidewalk. During the walk, Raiden gazed at the woman noticing her necklace and her choker on her neck and Raiden took a closer look at it seeing the necklace have her name written on it.
„You‘ve got there some nice necklaces“ Raiden complimented. „Who gifted them to you?“
„Adrien…..well the one with my name“ Kagami answered holding it up to see her name with the saber passing through it.
„I saw this on the internet and thought you would love it like this, “ Adrien‘s voice echoed through Kagami‘s head, then she smiled at remembering the night he gave her the golden necklace.
„That means a lot to you, right?“ Raiden asked making the woman shrug her shoulders.
„He gifted me this on our prom night at the high school“ Kagami mentioned. „I never took this off, it became very important to me over the years. It‘s like a lucky charm for me, when he‘s not around, It always makes me feel his presence. I don‘t know why“
„How romantic“ Raiden mentioned a little sarcastically, then he looked at the red pearl of the beaded choker of the woman and touched it with his finger, making Kagami frown her face. „Oh uh…..did I get too close to you?“ The man asked stepping back, then Kagami held her hand over the two necklaces before speaking back at the tall man.
„It‘s okay…..this was bought by me“ Kagami responded.
„Where?“
„I forgot the store‘s name“ Kagami responded. „It was….a sort of secondhand shop“
„A secondhand shop?“ Raiden asked. „Shouldn‘t a woman like you wear things, that aren‘t you know…...outdated?“
„Well, I liked it the day I bought it“ Kagami answered placing her hand over the red pearl of her choker.
„For real?“
„Well now probably not as much as I did at the start…..why are you asking me that?“ Kagami asked making Raiden shrug his shoulders.
„I‘m trying to make a conversation with you, nothing more“ Raiden answered, watching Kagami take her arms down and look at the ground, then they had approached the road, that passed beside the Eiffel Tower and Raiden gazed up at it along with Kagami.
„I still find the Tokyo Tower, cooler, what about you?“ Raiden asked making Kagami shrug her shoulders.
„They‘re both fine in their own way“ Kagami answered and sat down on the wall next to the sidewalk to glance at the tower, then the man sat next to her, then she moved a little further away from him.
„Hey uhm are you feeling better about today or do you still need to talk about it?“
„It‘s alright Raiden“ Kagami responded. „I and Adrien can solve it together. We just need time to refresh a little“
„You think so?“ Raiden asked earning a nod from the woman, which held her hand under her necklace with her name on it. „You think it‘s worth trying?“
„Why shouldn‘t I?“ Kagami answered removing the necklace. „He did a mistake. He‘s not perfect he has flaws just like me. One of his flaws is acting before thinking and this was one type of case like that“
„Sure okay“ Raiden answered watching Kagami clean the zip of the necklace, then tried to put the necklace around her neck, then Raiden placed his hands behind Kagami‘s neck grabbing her on the fingers. „I‘ll do it to make it easier“ Raiden suggested taking the two ends of the necklace afterward he had put the necklace together, then he looked at the red choker of the woman and opened it letting it fall down on Kagami‘s hands.
„What are you doing?“ Kagami asked looking at Raiden, which furrowed his eyebrows bewildered.
„Weren‘t you going to do the same to it?“
„Not really, but well now that I got it…..“ Kagami cleaned the edge of the laces, then handed it back to Raiden, which held it up and looked at the material of the pearl and held it closer to his eye, while Kagami observed his strange behavior. „What are you looking at?“
„This looks like a real pearl“ Raiden mentioned. „Could it possibly be similar to a ruby?“
„Maybe, can you give it back to me?“ Kagami asked wanting to take it away from the man, which held it up farther from the woman, which stretched her arm to take it away from the man, which smirked at Kagami.
„Ah ha ha, do you want that?“ Raiden asked getting playfully for the friend, then Kagami grabbed his arm and tried to take with her other hand the miraculous off the man‘s hands, then Raiden waved around with the miraculous on his finger watching Kagami trying to take it from his hands afterward Kagami managed to touch it and he kept spinning it around his finger faster until it slipped out off his finger letting it flew into the river behind them.
„Oh no!“ Kagami gasped as her miraculous disappeared in the river.
„That was not supposed to happen," Raiden mentioned surprised at where the choker flew.
„I need to get it back“ Kagami warned. „It‘s very important“
„But it‘s deep down in the river. Wouldn‘t it be better, if we just get you a new one?“
„But the one we just lost meant a lot to me and I can‘t just substitute it with something else“
„Why is that so important?“ Raiden asked. „You just bought it in a secondhand store“
„It got over the time important to me, okay!“ Kagami added stern. „I get it, that it was a mistake, but we need to think of a way to get it out of there“
„What are you expecting?“ Raiden asked seriously. „To jump in and get it?‘“
„No, but at least lean me a hand. Afterall you caused that“
„Gosh you‘re doing such a theatre just because of a silly necklace,“ Raiden complained getting up from the wall. „If I get lucky I find somewhere a store that sells fishing rod or anything alike…..the necklace isn‘t per coincidence magnetic? „
„No, I think the fishing rod is the only solution“ Kagami pointed out. „Please go get one“
„Okay, I see what I can do, “ Raiden said leaving the spot and Kagami looked down at the river, then she stared at the river hoping there would be a way to get the miraculous out of the water.
Adrien stood in front of a door with a Chinese symbol and knocked on it normally, then the door got opened by Jin, which held a baby milk bottle in his hand and got surprised at seeing Adrien there in front of his doorstep.
„Hey“ Jin greeted while sealing the cap of the bottle. „You‘re back“
„Hey Jin, I came here to talk to you“ Adrien mentioned entering into the apartment, then Adrien looked at the raven-haired man and sank his head down before he started to talk. „Hey look…..I‘m sorry about today. I was a total jerk towards you, blaming you for something without having any proof. I should have investigated that case instead of coming with only one hint right here at you. Same with Kagami. I‘m also sorry for making your baby cry and eventually set up Xia in a little confusion due to my behavior“
„She really wasn‘t confused, more….surprised“ Jin corrected making Adrien nod.
„I hope we still can be friends and forgive me everything I did or said“
„Sure, we‘re friends“ Jin answered holding out his hand for the blonde to shake it. „But have you already solved the issue?“
„I might have an idea, but probably I should dig a little more into it“ Adrien answered. „Kagami isn‘t guilty. Someone just tried to either split us up or just pull a prank on us. The contraceptive wasn‘t used,“ „I know Ettore is a prankster, but he would not do those kinds of pranks. Someone either tried to sabotage your relationship with Kagami or something else,“
„Exactly“ Adrien agreed with a nod. „When I see Kagami home again I‘ll talk with her and justify her everything I shouldn‘t have done in the first place and eventually we try to figure out, who framed us“
„I hope you find out, who did that“ Jin said earning a small smile of the blonde, afterward Adrien‘s phone rang and Adrien attended it.
„Kagami?“ Adrien responded. „Why did he do that?….uhm okay, I‘ll be there as soon as I can“ Adrien promised and put his phone back after the phone call. „Sorry, Kagami necklace fell into the Seine and she asked me to help her,“
„Oh okay“ Jin answered a little bewildered at his story. „Be careful you two“
„We will be fine, don‘t worry“ Adrien assured leaving the apartment heading into the elevator, then opened his pocket for Plagg to come out.
„How in the world did her miraculous land in the river?“ The kwami asked estranged with the phonecall of his miraculous holder.
„Raiden tried to amuse her by spinning her choker around his finger until it flew away“ Adrien answered. „As Cat Noir, we can get it out of there easily“
„Ugh“ Plagg groaned making Adrien chuckle.
„Come on, we‘re not going to have to fight anyone for it“ Adrien mentioned earning a nod from the kwami.
„Alright, if we don‘t you owe me a large wheel of Camembert“ Plagg begged.
„Oh you‘d love to?“
„Nah not really, but I know I‘ll get like this the cheese“
„Sure, good luck“ Adrien wished jokingly, then he transformed into Cat Noir, soon as he arrived on the base floor he ran out of the building to head to the champs de mars.
