Sometimes I think about the fact that first living being to orbit the Earth couldn't understand what was happening to her, couldn't understand the history she was making. Laika wasn't a volunteer. The technology to bring her back alive didn't exist. They sent her up anyway. She died, scared and alone, in a malfunctioning spacecraft hastily built to meet a political deadline.

When her heart rate tripled from the stress of acceleration, did she understand the magnitude of what she was experiencing? When she saw the stars outside her little window, did she believe the world had gone dark? In her final hours, did she feel wonder, or just fear?

Jimmy's apology to Curly is bullshit. At least it is to me. First the only thing Jimmy is apologizing for is taking the Captain position from Curly. Nothing else. Because it's just Jimmy handing responsibility over to Curly again, you know scapegoating him. This is why he doesn't apologize to Daisuke or Swansea despite clearly feeling bad about them. This is why he doesn't even think of Anya.

Jimmy's not actually sorry for hurting Curly. There's no "Sorry I beat you and force fed you meds" or "Sorry I verbally abused you in front of the entire crew" or even "Sorry I ate your leg". Instead we get "You were right being Captain is hard, you be Captain again cause you're better than me. Also let me pretend to save you so I feel like a hero". Yeah Jimmy's only sorry he got himself into more trouble than he could handle even if he feels bad about how some of the crew ended up.

mmmmmm read a disciple shen yuan/shizun luo binghe fanfic about two days ago where the first chapter was the Immortal Conference arc, and SQQ was the one who had to be pushed into the abyss (he was still the villain) except Luo Binghe was refusing and was like, lowkey losing his mind about SQQ being so close to the edge. SQQ ended up having to be the one to fall in himself because of the system's punishment system. The rest of the fic is leading up to that moment. But like, MMM i've been obsessively thinking about that first chapter for DAYS ever since.

now i've been in svsss for a grand total of *checks watch* a week. but god obsessed with that. I want to write/read a fic where disciple SQQ goes a little nuts down there. Like keep all of the things that make SQQ, SQQ, but just. Throw in a little bit more trauma in there. A little bit of a mental break. Let him go a little nuts as a treat. Just a tad unhinged. I wanna see him go, just a little, "god fuck it, i've tried so hard to change this shitty story's outcome and it feels like everything i've done has been for nothing. I'm going to die in this world no matter what I do, I've been doomed from the start, so might as well die the way I want to." and he just, breaks a little! Under all the stress.

He still retains the traits that makes shen yuan, shen yuan, like his overwhelming kindness. But he's just! yk. A little less patient. Paranoid. Jumpy. Colder. A little more aloof and closed off. A little more Shen Jiu. He's no asshole child abuser, but he was a Number One Hater in his past life and he's leaning into that old habit a little more now.

(On a totally coincidental not-at-all related note, there's not enough SJ-and-SY-are-the-same-people fics out there that i've found. This is totally unrelated...)

The Endless Abyss turns the mind into an over-sharpened blade, and SQQ is both fascinated and perhaps a little excited to explore a place that doesn't have a lot of info on it in the mortal realm, but still terrified out of his mind. And he's no Luo Binghe, he doesn't have the sheer brute strength and power to just bulldoze his way through, so he has to be a lot more sneaky and cunning if he wants to survive.

The fic itself role-swapped LBH and SQQ so that SQQ was the half-demon (which lowkey fucks) and LBH the human, but I'm equally-if-not-more obsessed with the idea that LBH remains the half-heavenly demon and SQQ the human. If only because I keep thinking about SQQ befriending some demons (particularly and specifically a group of succubi) and they grow very attached to this Human Cultivator so through magic plot stuff they create some kind of seal/illusion/talisman that makes SQQ appear as a demon because a human cultivator in the endless abyss may as well be the equivalent of putting a giant neon target on your back.

And iirc Shen Jiu was taught demonic cultivation by that one guy(?? i've only been here a week so im not caught up in ALL of the lore yet) so that could totally happen here.

(On the other end of the realms, poor Shizun Luo Binghe is just. losing his fucking mind over losing his most precious and beloved disciple. About .5 seconds from burning down the peaks himself. somebody sedate him.)

The Endless Abyss sucks and SQQ is having a really terrible time and can feel himself going lowkey mad, but also holy shit look at all this WORLD-BUILDING. look at all this flora and fauna, and oh if he had the equipment for it he'd be writing all of this down. ALL OF IT. He was kinda-sorta-already planning on never leaving the Abyss as some sort of fucked up self-exile and self-preservation thing, but now he might? actually just?? never leave if he can help it, like he lowkey likes it down here.

anyways the next time anyone ever sees SQQ again he's got hair so long its almost touching the ground and he's either in rags and half-feral or he's been completely dolled up by his adoptive succubi sisters and still about three seconds from biting anyone who tries to touch him. (he's also lowkey trying to book it back down to the abyss even if he has desperately missed all of his friends and shizun)

On Maddie Nolen... (Arcane S2 Act 2 Spoilers)

Spoilers for Arcane Season 2 Act 2

So Maddie Nolen. Definitely not a character who went in the direction I expected.

Also probably owe her a bit of an apology.

I admit, between Act 1 and Act 2 I was leaning towards the theory of Maddie going to be a toxic influence on Caitlyn and represent the naivety of evil; and generally become an authoritarian cheerleader for Caitlyn's worst impulses.

But come Act 2 and well...

So Maddie and Caitlyn got together (not too surprising for me tbh because I got spoiled by people who had seen the leaks imply this relationship would happen). However what was surprising was that Maddie was actually a voice of reason and even positive influence.

So, my apologies to Maddie Nolen; did not know she was this chill.

In general Caitlyn was much more composed than I was expecting for someone who almost endangered a child last we saw her. I suppose that jumping straight back into Enforcer work so soon after her mother's death was the main problem at play, and so months later she's had more time to grieve and calm down.

Also apparently people are upset at Maddie for this? Honestly, as far as we know, I don't think she's done anything wrong.

The relationship is obviously a rebound, but Caitlyn is presumably older (as Maddie is a junior officer) and Maddie's superior officer. So the eye-raising parts of the relationship are more on Caitlyn's end. If anything, this is kinda unfair to Maddie to be a rebound since she seemed genuinely invested in the relationship.

But yeah, was not expecting Maddie to be encouraging Caitlyn to be less authoritarian, and from what we've seen I wouldn't be surprised if Maddie's influence is what has caused Caitlyn to temper since Act 1.

Still am rooting for Catvi but the fact that Maddie seems to be trying her best to be a good girlfriend is going to make things kinda awkward. Hopefully it can all end maturely and civilly and Maddie can find herself a new girlfriend who she's not a rebound to. Also Caitlyn still needs to apology to Vi, but helping save Vander was a good start.

(Then again maybe I'll be wrong again and it'll turn out she's a Black Rose spy or something. Hope not though, feel it'd be kinda cheap way to solve a love triangle by going "oh yeah, the romantic rival was a foreign spy the entire time!")

The Judoflip in HOO

Do you know what always bewildered me? The judoflip scene in HOO. Not only did Annabeth unexpectedly slam Percy (her boyfriend, not an enemy) on the hard ground with her knees pressed to his chest and her arm to his throat as she threated him to never leave her, but also Percy was slammed to the ground ON HIS BACK WHERE HIS MORTAL SPOT ONCE WAS!!! Annabeth didn't know that he didn't have the curse anymore. That could have easily killed him! One misplaced rock could have hit the small of his back, and he would be DEAD!

Not only was this an abusive and concerning reaction to slam Percy on the ground, but it really shows how much Percy's fatal flaw being loyalty can not see how this is WRONG because he laughed! You don't hit your partner if they're being stupid; you don't elbow them in the ribs if they can't guess what you're thinking; you don't kick them in the shins to shut up. AND YOU DON'T JUDOFLIP YOUR PARTNER FOR BEING KIDNAPPED!!!

This isn't a romantic or healthy relationship. It's toxic and unhealthy codependent where Percy will give and give, and Annabeth will take and take until Percy has nothing left.

The Loyal Pin - Episode 12

I'm fighting Pat in a Waffle House. Not in the parking lot of a Waffle House. No! Inside the Waffle House. I'm making sure God and all the employees witness me beating her ass while some old school R&B jam plays on the jukebox and the other customers wonder if anyone is calling 911 while eating their delicious waffles. The answer - NO because everyone wants to see this color-coded villain get what's coming to her. Basically, I'm pissed as hell at Patricia!

The fact that Pat manipulated Prik, who started hitting herself because she felt so stupid, made me irate; then, Prik couldn't even tell her Blue Beauty Princess, which only made me more pissed.

Pink Person Pin is suffering! And Pat gives no effs!

She basically told Pin that she could die before she would allow her to be with Anin. She really said that bullshit!

I was worried before the show began that Pin was going to cave quickly, but to see her not only push back, but continue to wear her color made my heart happy in the most painful way.

Because the very next day, she wore purple and blue! She wore Anin's color plus her and Anin's colors mixed together! I respect the hell out of her!

LOOK AT HER BEING SO BRAVE!

Then, we have this lint licker wearing my favorite color and I want to snatch it off her body because it no longer makes sense! I thought she was wearing it as an ode to her dead lover, but NOOOOOO! She's just wearing it for shits and giggles or something. I HATE HER!

Once again, I'm so proud of Pin for keeping her color throughout this horrible moment of hypocrisy.

Green isn't blue, so I feel Anin is desperate to get Pin back and acting out of her color. She is normally calculated, but there is no time for strategy when PIN IS LOSING HER COLOR!

The girls have made some dumb moves before, but kissing and hugging right in front of Patricia's window was the worst possible thing to happen because now she really is going to turn red with those red dainty earrings.

How can Patricia just be so giddy when she knows this is the worst thing possible for Pin?! Even Anin's color-coded brother knows this is horrible.

Pin has NO COLOR! The girl is dead inside! She is a zombie sitting there! SHE HAS NO LIFE IN HER!

Anin is cyan, and she is being herself, yet directly arguing back like she never has before, and I LIKE IT!

I know this man has been a great color-coded ally, but I need him to stop trying to make excuses for Anin, and start being openly supportive of the queers in front of him who are losing their shit and their colors!

THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE WHOLE POINT! THE COLORS MEANS THINGS!

Pat is so quick to make Pin change her color, but for what?! Pat is a vibrant pink but has been turning redder with rage, and it's all for what? So Pin can be what she couldn't? Because she thinks Pin's love is doomed like hers was? Why is she trying to change Pin? WHAT IS THE REASON, PATRICIA?!

I'm proud of Pin for holding onto her color for so long and for Anin having the strength to say she loved Pin without outing Pin in the process. These are two bad color-coded bitches, and I will kill everyone in this palace for them, so these royals better get it together or I'm going full French Revolution and murdering everyone!
