I will never ever EVER be over the symbolism of Chris "Privacy Issues" Elman being born onto a giant dead eye. Never. Because that's the crux of it, really - the inescapable scrutiny of a dead man. Sure, he inherits Lab Rat's Birdcage trauma, which contributes to his privacy hang-ups - but that's not all. Not even close.

Another interlude quote I saved, from Mrs Yamada:

"That strikes me as the kind of thing that you're very conscious of. Being watched, observed, manipulated."

Mrs Yamada is an adept therapist, and I think this wording progression pretty accurately reflects how Chris views 'watching'. A prelude to violation - first of privacy, then of freedom. Is that any wonder, when he's been at Stage 3: Manipulation from Lab Rat for all his life? And, god... a giant dead eye beneath him that will never close is the perfect metaphor.
