Seeing the way the friendship is magic fandom has evolved over the years in terms of meme culture is so fun to see.

The year the older zoomers entered the fandom space as active content creators was maybe around the same time (or a bit after) the finale premiered and you can see the effects of that in the newer music and the art and the comics and the stories-

Seeing the differences and similarities in millennial fandom culture and gen z fandom culture is just fun to see in general; but in this case especially, seeing people my age (and even people who have JUST joined the fandom) make their own contributions with a lot of really impactful and cool and funny work- and very actively keeping the silly cartoon horse culture alive even after it's ended as someone who has had this show as a massive hyperfixation on and off since maybe 2014 is really cool to me

Dipper is an earth pony, Mable is a unicorn, the Stan twins are both unicorns

the younger twins have more earth pony heritage while the Stan twins have very little

Mabel only really knows craft related spells

Ford is one of the most powerful unicorns in the world

Stan used to have decently powerful magic, lost almost all of it when his horn was smashed

the only time Stan can use magic are when his emotional state is very heightened and he acts on instinct. it leaves him so exhausted and if he pushes himself too hard he could get very sick

when Stan uses magic after his horn is smashed his body will leak/ooze pure magic

Stan's flank was scarred by himself long before he got a cutie mark to avoid people identifying him with it. nowadays Mabel will paint something new on his flank everyday, he likes that it adds to his mystery

Ford gained bills arms winding down his legs and connected to his cutie mark after making a deal with bill, a permanent reminder of the mistake he made

Ford lost his tail while he was in the portal, isnt too heartbroken about it since it was just causing him issues in the portal

Ford's journals have a silhouette of a unicorn with two horns instead of a 6 fingered hand

Dipper is insecure that he isnt a unicorn and has trouble keeping up with Ford on adventures sometimes, Ford has no issue helping Dipper along with him when he needs to and is just happy to have someone on and adventure with him again

The triplets want a pony and uncle Crystal gives advice to work for it through good behavior. While a certain auntie subjects a hostage/bribery.

Adam was just getting the festive mood with his family. And Crystal realizes he’s an accessory to a ‘kidnapping’.

Good news. Adam is, indeed, worth a pony.

PONYBOY CURTIS

Pony is such a little baby about getting teased by his friends. He's whining "stooopp, stoppp" with the biggest pout, the gang makes fun of him soooo hard for this.

I don't see it happening unless you're soo drunk that consequences don't matter to you anymore so you just walk by him and smack his ass SO HARD that he screams.

He gets so shocked, asking if anyone saw that, if anyone would back him up on that but all the gang does is tease him saying like "saw you what? scream like a girl?"

This for sure starts a war, whenever you're at the Curtis's house just doing whatever Pony will try to smack your ass and you literally have to block yourself from him.

The gang is so tired of you acting like little kids but they laugh whenever you get Pony because he's such a sore loser about it.

JOHNNY CADE

Honestly, don't see anyone teasing him a lot. They probably think he's a little sensitive about it and forget that he's a greaser too. He likes you because you're not walking on eggshells around him.

Like Pony though, he SCREAMS when you slap his ass. No one's ever done that to him before and he's jaw dropped. He literally runs circles around Darry trying to chase you.

He will literally never forget and always turn to face you whenever you're around him. It's started a friendly rivalry like Pony but Johnny is significantly better.

He often sneaks up on you and catches you off guard but you return it by sneaking up on him. The gang has bets on who's gonna win once you guys get tired of your game.

SODAPOP CURTIS

Sodapop and Steve are literally sooo zesty with eachother. It's just their friendship and stuff but smacking ass is not new to them. Soda just doesn't expect it to be from you.

He turns around jaw dropped like you just stole his lunch money. Dramatically scoffs and just stares at you. When you turn to walk away he's for sure trying to get you back.

He doesn't expect you to be on guard though so he almost trips when you run away before he could get you. He's such a sore loser like his brother so he's always trying to one up you.

While Soda has the strength, you have the agility so it's literally such an entertaining battle to watch. Two Bit laughs at you two sooo hard he thinks its so funny.

STEVE RANDLE

Steve is actually a menace to society. He literally attacks Sodapop and Two-Bit, sometimes even Darry and Dallas. He'll run by and smack Soda's ass soo hard and runs so fast no one can catch him.

Until you did by catching him off-guard. He does the slow turn with his mouth open to dramatically signify his shock. He stares at you for a few seconds to try and catch you off guard and get you back.

He's a force to be reckoned with because he gets you back every single time. You're both crying-laughing by the time your worn out, lying on the couch trying to catch your breath because you'd been running around the house with Steve.

He's a formidable opponent but his weakness is that he forgets that you can and will smack his ass so he'll just be walking around and you'll slap him and lock yourself in a room.

TWO BIT MATHEWS

As much as he hates to admit it, Two-Bit sucks at hand-eye coordination. So he's not very good at the little game Soda and Steve started where they'll just come by, smack his ass and run so he can't catch them.

Of course he has his fair share of wins but he's more of a victim, but he takes it lightly because it's funny to him. He's soo shocked that you got involved though.

He was leaning over the kitchen counter talking to Soda when you walked by, turned to Soda and put a finger to your lips to let him know to not say anything.

You literally comically winded up and smacked his ass so hard Two Bit nearly screamed cause he was so scared. You were holding in your laugh and just ran to the other side of the counter for help from Sodapop.

DARRY CURTIS

Darry is such a sweetheart bro, he's literally such a cutie and he gets bullied for it. Soda and Steve literally violently attack him by smacking his ass and running (they call it drive bys).

He doesn't do much but yell at them, telling them that they better wish that he didn't hit them back. Of course when you do it, its different.

For instance you don't hit as hard and you did it so politely too that Two Bit was on the ground laughing. Darry just kind of stood there, an eyebrow raised.

He gave you a light noogie before sending you on your way only for it to happen AGAIN and he just turns around and crosses his arms and tells you that he won't ever trust you again.

DALLAS WINSTON

Dallas is a VICTIM of Soda, Steve and Two. That's the only thing he's unhappy to admit. He's not thinking about how to get them back, he's thinking about girls and parties and all of a sudden HE'S GETTING ATTACKED!!!

He's never going to take it lightly, always smacking them over the head for it. One day he just finished chewing out Steve for doing it when he gets hit AGAIN and its YOU.

He's all like, "c'mon, man, another one?" and his new york accent is soo heavy because he's getting frustrated that hes losing. He tells you that if you do that to him he's gonna do that to you.

Now, if you're ever in the street and Dallas comes up behind you he'll smack your ass and you'll smack his as he walks by. This rivalry is much darker than with Pony or Johnny, Dally is always on guard now and so are you. Two jokes that they should put you two in a ring.

honestly liike. The way you draw these horses compels me. They're the exact same shape and yet the ways you alter it (pinkie pie having some wacky proportions, rd being largely square (and AJ being pretty boxy too), twilight being kind of spindly, it all conveys their character so well. masterclass in character design

i love MLP and the flash-puppet character designs definitely meant the staff had an easier time since there were predefined bases but damn does it rob the show of body diversity! it's why any time theres a new body type on a pony i go :OOO!!!

as a big enjoyer of suicidal evil characters i LOVE when fans actually put care into depicting jimmy... he's an awful human being but in a v specific and impactful way,... like pre-crash curly unambiguously liked jimmy and was closer to and prioritized him above the rest of the crew (that fucking psych eval... lmao...) which is RLY IMPORTANT to getting exactly how bleak anya's situation was...! anyways ummm i like how you draw anya and curly's noses. also that drink comic of yours is one of my all time fav  shitpost jimmys. that semi-not-joking mass death ideation + halfhearted backtrack is so choice

i think its valid to not want to depict jimmy, especially bc he is a terrible person whos done incredibly upsetting things that lots of people have experienced. but i think its important to not just label jimmy as a monster in general and then set him aside, but to acknowledge that hes a person that continuously choose to do bad things in efforts to self serve and shift blame, and that there is a method to his madness. theres a lot of really fucking interesting characterization going on with jimmy, and while he uses that all to be a shitty abuser, hes still a compelling villain protagonist. its a shame that this fandom is so hostile to any sort of delving into him, to even mention him, unless its surrounded by 300 warnings and disclaimers. understandable, but a shame.

the way jimmy wormed his way into positions of power over others due to the neglect of pony express and curly's desire to "fix" him, how jimmy had his talons deeply sunk into curly who just rolled over for him when it came to his assault on anya. how jimmy was able to use swanseas solitary personality and daisukes naivety to exert his dominance and desire for control over anya and the tulpar which he was never capable of handling in the first place due to his lack of responsibility and selfishness, which ultimately brought everyone down...oh that is wonderful tragedy. the trainwreck, the facade, the hubris, the unreliability. a big house of cards posed perfectly to be knocked over in an instant. sadly everyone knows an incompetent idiot who thinks hes the shit and makes it your problem, everyone knows the guy you have to warn new people about. not as fun when its in reality. but i think exploring these ideas in fiction can help prepare, notice, and prevent jimmys from ruining you and others lives.

also hehe i like the drink comic a lot as well. im glad people like the little bits of character i was able to shoehorn into single frames. theres too many comments about "why didnt jimmy put drugs/poison in there" which completely forget that 1) this is all on video evidence, which the crew will be watching back/posting 2) he also has to drink it 3) literally what would he gain for killing the crew before they even leave earth. lmao. jimmy adding monster to what he assumes to be alcohol is reflective of his impulsive spite towards swansea talking shit to everyone (him), but played off as a joke to save face. loooook its just a little jab back at swansea, no biggie. just tit for tat. his willingness to make everyone suffer (including himself) bc one person made him feel tiny. gnashing my fucking teeth

Willow Springs - An Original Project!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the recent content drought, but I've been working on a brand new original project! Willow Springs is a project I've been working on for a few months now, and I've finally completed the concept art for the main cast!

Willow Springs is a Mystery Comic-Fantasy heavily inspired by Gravity Falls and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The story takes place in the fictional town of Willow Springs, a small and quiet town that experiences winter weather year-round. Willow Springs seems like a sleepy town, but it brims with mystery and magic.

The story follows the Bonbon family, who have recently moved to town. Castella Bonbon is a single mother hoping to build her bakery business and raise her kids with the help of her family and friends. Hazel and Nutmeg Bonbon are her young daughters, and both of them were ecstatic to learn all about their new home - especially when they learn about the magic hidden within! There's an entire town to explore, so lets get exploring!

The Future of Lil Miss Rarity

Hello everyone, this is Jay Tonique (formerly known as Lil Miss Jay), the writer, artist, everything other than the music in the Lil Miss Rarity animation for the blog "Lil Miss Rarity."

As some of you know, Lil Miss Rarity was an ongoing outlet for my physical, verbal and emotional abuse I was suffering prior to and leading up to Lil Miss Rarity's release, October 11th 2011.

The blog took off so heavily that my entire artistic career became a viable future for me, allowing me to profit from my art, build a huge loving fanbase, and even allowing me to become something of a celebrity in the Brony community (even very much hated by a large portion of the community).

It's needless for me to say that Lil Miss Rarity not only changed but saved my life. I was on the verge of taking my own life around the time the blog was started, due to the abuse I was going through, and if it weren't for the success of the blog that fateful October week, I would certainly not be here, typing this right now. I owe my life to you all, and the support you've given me for this blog.

However, it's time for the news I know very few people want to hear. In fact, I'm sure just reading this line right here has people's hearts sinking, but please, don't be anxious, please read the full post.

I would like to say: Please read the full post, I am going to be very clear about the future.

Moving forward, Lil Miss Rarity will no longer be updated, and the blog is officially entirely over, as of this post.

I am still looking for a musician to commission a new song for the remake of the Lil Miss Rarity animation on YouTube, which will be my final major update involving the blog, and then I will be putting the blog entirely to rest. The animation will serve as a fond emotional farewell to Lil Miss Rarity.

However, that's not the end of the twisted grimdark storytelling. I have decided to make a spiritual successor, a new IP, entirely my own and not using My Little Pony as a crutch.

I won't get too into it, but I left the Brony fandom long ago. It was both the greatest thing to ever happen in my life, and the absolute worst thing to ever happen in my life. I met great friends, but also met unbelievably horrible sick people, many of which I literally got FBI involvement to deal with and many of which are literally in prison now.

Due to this, and many many more reasons I'm leaving out, I cannot and will not continue to be a part of the fandom. This is just a few reasons, as well, that continuing to have Lil Miss Rarity exist as a My Little Pony blog just doesn't make any sense to me.

So what am I doing moving forward?

A brand new IP called "Melodi." It's about a magic school student who is part of a wealthy family who goes on a magical twisted adventure in a horrifying grimdark world.

It will have characters either very slightly or very heavily inspired by the characters of Lil Miss Rarity, with Melodi of course being inspired by Rarity.

It will also be an ongoing web comic, similar to LMR, and will encourage fan feedback just as much as LMR did, but will not be an Ask Blog like LMR.

I plan to release character concepts for the cast of Melodi soon.

Now, there's probably a lot of questions moving forward, so I'll try to answer them now, as well as in asks on this blog, though I'd prefer you send the asks about Melodi to my main blog at http://www.jayisbutts.com/ask

Here's some questions I think will be asked, and I'll answer them here:

"Will this blog be on Tumblr?" - Yes, and on Patreon. Each update will be on Patreon first. When an update comes out on Patreon, the previous update will go public at the same time on Tumblr.

"Don't you think the LMR fanbase you've garnered for 12 years are gonna be upset about this?" - I'm 100% certain they will be, yes. However, I hope that most people who hear this news are excited to see Melodi in the future. I'm very proud of what I've created with LMR, and happy about how many lives I've changed and how many people have told me how much they love LMR. People with the heart-brand tattoo, people with LMR tattoos, people who cosplay as LMR, LMR fanart still being made regularly to this date, real-life Opal dolls, fan-dubs of the comic, fan animations, Anime Music Videos, etc etc etc. I love each and every one of you and I hope that I can one day garner the same amount of love for Melodi as I received for LMR. Thank you all so much for your support.

"What if someone else wants to carry on the LMR blog or use the characters to make their own?" - Please, do. LMR is officially Public Domain as of this post, and I strongly encourage LMR fan-fiction, fan-blogs, etc. I would love if someone could do LMR better than I did. I will very happily use this blog going forward to showcase new LMR blogs and fan-content that I like, and I will very gladly be a guest artist from time to time on an update or two to those blogs. You all have my blessing to take LMR and do with her whatever you want.

"Are you still remaking the LMR animation?" - Yes, I'm still actively seeking a musician to make an official LMR theme that will play in the background of it. It will be a glorious farewell to LMR.

"Is the heart-brand still a thing in Melodi?" - Absolutely, yes. The one incredibly major staple being carried over to Melodi is the heart brand. That symbol has become synonymous with LMR.

"What about the eye scars?" - Probably not. There will be facial scarring of some kind, yes, but considering the new story will not involve killing a cat (not yet anyway), she probably won't have the eye scars.

"Ponies? Humans? Furries?" - I haven't fully decided. In my head, Melodi is a human, but I could also see her being a cat. I'm not sure what I wanna do just yet. However, she will not be a pony. She's gonna be far more human shaped. With boobies.

"Is this one gonna have porn?" - Nope! Not directly as part of the blog, no. Sexual encounters are going to happen in a very fade-to-black way, or a cropped-off-screen sort of way, yes. And there will be sexy characters, like monster girls or demon girls, and I'm sure people will find Melodi herself sexy, too. However, the blog is not going to contain actual porn. No full nudity. It will have what some would refer to as "fetish content," as with LMR, but it's not porn.

"Final question, so... LMR is just... dead? As of now?" - In terms of receiving updates from me, all that will be made is the LMR animation. But no, I certainly hope LMR is not dead. I would love to see the blog live on through other artists I've inspired. You all have my blessing to keep her alive forever.

Do you have any unpopular opinions about mlp fim? For instance, "Newbie Dash" is probably my favorite Rainbow Dash episode since I think it's the only episode that actually had her suffer some consequences due to her own hubris.

Oh, I have a few. For one I think Fluttercord as a concept is misogynistic as hell and a huge disservice to Fluttershy's character if not downright fuckin creepy. I used to be neutral on the ship but it's only gotten worse and worse with time. Another is just. I don't think Starlight Glimmer shoulda gotten all that screentime. I like a lot of the eps shes in, especially with Trixie, but I really didn't need her to be permeating through so much, feels like a strange self insert

One more for the road: I think the finale is kind of awful on a thematic and lore level. Like, emotionally wise, they reach all the high notes they could have ever wanted off the show, thats for sure, but like;

1 - I'm ideologically opposed to the idea that Cozy Glow is an irredeemable monster that belongs turned to stone or in tartarus. she's a fucking child and the writers think she's irredeemable. 2 - Generally Chrysalis Cozy and Tyrek are all a weird choice for ultimate trio for final bosses. Any of them have been their own world ending threats, I woulda preffered something new. Hell, I still think the mean 6 or at least anti Twilight coulda been a more interesting finale.

3 - If racism is THAT easy to bring back, then clearly theres an enormous systemic problem with all of the goddamn society, and oh, look at that, bc of g5, canonically we know that Equestria falls, and bc of the comics we know it falls on the lifetimes of the main 6. It's almost genious foreshadowing, how much Twilight's kingdom was built ona house of cards tbh.

4 - Celestia and Luna lose to Cozy Glow. Cozy Glow, a child alicorn, 1 v 2s them. That's unforgivable, insane, really fucking stupid.

5 - If the solution is friendship power, just like it has always fucking been, then why wasn't it the first choice to deal with the fucking problem, at this point the 38 minutes that build up to 'oh shit my friends are my power' feels completely superfluous man. Its lazy

6 - The final problem has that vibe of JKRs 'all was well' thing that glosses over some major damn problems, and well, considering the canon, even when i watched the first time I couldn't help but think I was watching a bunch of naive ass ponies trying to enjoy their final years together before Equestria fell to the damn brink. It's more bitter than sweet. Twilight Sparkle will watch all her friends die of old age hooray...!
