a little comic i made inspired by a tag said by @quiverymango about dipper and stan bonding over their lack of magic. i loved the idea so much i just had to make something for it, have a few more headcanons below :]

in my mlp universe earth ponies are naturally more bulky and tend to be the strongest ponies with pegasi being the weakest due to hollow bones, so dipper is naturally stronger

this is why dipper when he doesnt have the journals he immediately resorts to physical solutions

mabel is also relatively strong despite being a unicorn, not as strong as dipper is/will be though

stan while not naturally stronger built up his strength pretty quickly after losing his horn because he couldnt rely on magic anymore

stan is the strongest of the pines family, technically even stronger than ford. the only reason he wouldnt be able to beat ford in a fight is because ford is still a powerful unicorn and is still reliant on his magic

stan is tough on dipper because he knows how dangerous it can be to not be physically tough and wants dipper to always be prepared for a scrap even if hes not with mabel

mabel is the first unicorn ford meets after coming back through the portal

hes so excited to teach her new spells and help her with magic

mabel offers to teach ford her knitting spell so ford can make sweaters for himself after she leaves

ford makes mabel a sweater for the next time she visits

ford when teaching mabel is reminded of when he would teach stan spells when they were colts

mabel will help dipper with things if he needs them and has taken time to learn defensive spell to ease dippers anxieties and because she wants to protect him if he cant protect himself

dipper isnt really jealous about mabel as much as he just wishes he was also a unicorn

before weirdmageddon dippers self esteem grew when ford would invite him on adventures

after weirdmageddon hes self assured more by the fact that he helped save the world

do you think dippy fresh would still be a Pegasus or would he be a Unicorn since Star Shower also admires them? Or if he was still a Pegasus, do you think he’d be an extremely talented flier?

It would be quite fun to know how Ford reacted to Stanley not having his horn(MLP AU if your wondering)

It would probably be before ford went into the portal if I’m correct? This is actually my second question and somehow I still feel nervous lol

when ford shoves stan to check his eyes his hair is pushed away from his horn exposing it. ford notices after a second but doesn't give himself time to really process it and just continues explaining his issue to stan. it isn't until he's in a safe place in the portal that he thinks back on the encounter with stan and thinks about his brothers broken horn. he's still too mad to truly feel bad for stan and even more so after stan pushed him into the portal. stan also tried to use whatever magic he had left to try and grab ford back from the pull of the portal, but a mix of not having enough magic built up, being generally weak from not properly caring for himself and his more negative emotions towards ford he wasn't able to grab ford before he fell through.
