"Dozens of people joined Biden administration officials, advocates and U.S. Sen. Peter Welch, a Democrat from Vermont, at a Washington public library on Tuesday to make a last-ditch plea to extend the Affordable Connectivity Program, a subsidy created by Congress and touted by President Joe Biden as part of his push to bring internet access to every U.S. household. The program, which is set to expire at the end of May, helps people with limited means pay their broadband bills.
“They need access to high-speed internet just like they need access to electricity,” Sen. Welch told the gathering. “This is what is required in a modern economy.”"

The Affordable Connectivity Programs funding is expected to end early this next year. For those who don't know it gives a lot of people free or reduced Internet services.
I receive a 30 dollar credit each month off of my bill, and even then my bill is still $50/month. This is really going to hit hard, especially for people who currently receive free WiFi through the program. It's important people have Internet access in their homes, and it's something a lot of people cannot afford to lose right now. While yes public WiFi is an option not everyone has the ability to get themselves around to places that offer it.
Spectrum has a link where you can send an email asking to extend the program here
You can also contact your state representative too. You can use this link to look up who your representative is.
This program saved me during the pandemic when I lost my job, and even if it loses funding I will be fine for now, but that is not the case for everyone, especially with the rising cost of bills and internet access in general.

Trope: Lovers to enemies.
Emotional and charged at the end where they both die. Not quite Romeo and Juliet.
Possible ending:
2"You told me that you loved me."
1"And I did. I loved you with my whole body, my soul, my essence! Everything about you made my heart sing."
They stand there looking back at one another, bodies strewn all around them. Unable to see what side either soldiers were from.
1"Your smile, your smell, your heartbeat… You were the reason that I woke up every morning."
The other did not speak, they glowered silently.
1"Things weren't supposed to be like this…" they tossed their helmet aside and took a step forwards.
2"Don't move!" the other shouted, their sword pointed at the other. "I'll kill you."
The other one didn't listen and took another step.
2"Stop it!"
1"Kill me then." They outstretched their arms to their sides, sword falling limp in their hand.
2"Just stop moving!" they gripped their sword a little tighter. "I'm warning you!"
1"You can stand there and threaten me like that because you were the one who started this… this… chaos." dropping their arms to the side, their shoulders slumped.
2"I didn't know." the other was trembling now, tears streaking down their face. "I didn't know that this would happen. I was following orders."
1"Orders? You killed my father."
2"And you killed mine first."
They stood in the tension, staring back at one another.
1"You could've left with me."
2"You know that we couldn't."
1"There is always a choice."
2"I didn't have a choice!" They shouted at the other, themselves trembling with anger.
The one with the out stretched arms began taking another couple steps towards the other.
1"We are the only ones left. They will write about this battle and speak of its brutality and lack of survivors."
2"What?" they looked up in confusion at the other one. Clearly seeing that they were both still alive.
The first one began to run towards the other, sword back in their grip. Between the screaming charge and the closing of their eyes, both became silent in that moment. A sword was going through the middle of the first stomach, he had ran right into it during his charge, certain that she would lower her sword. He looked at her, taken aback, but she was equally surprised because she had a sword that pierced the center of her chest.
2"I…" the second tried to speak but the air wasn't there.
1"I wish things could have been different…" the second fell to their knees and slumped over the front of the blade. The first followed suit to the ground, reaching his hand out to place his hand on hers, but crumpled into the soft earth underneath him, he could feel his breathing getting heavy and his eyes begin to close, he felt that he needed to sleep.

hey everyone - here's another quick tutorial.
this one if i had to name it would just be "points shop made easy". i realized a lot of people didn't already know this recently so i wanted to make sure i shared the information.
here's a summary of what i do in the video:
go to the store on site
click fine member
use a negative amount (-100) to reward a user points, use a positive amount (100) to take points from a user
go into your acp, under ibstore find moderator logs, you'll see it logged there automatically
basically: f math, all my homies hate math
hope this helps and have a good day!

The FCC has announced that since Congress has failed to continue to provide funding, the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) may be nearing its end.Â
The Affordable Connectivity Program gives millions of households access to discounted, and even free mobile and internet plans, and up to $100 off an eligible device. Without this program, many people will be unable to afford internet access or cell phones with data plans.
Service providers are urging subscribers and concerned folks to tell Congressional representatives how valuable ACP is.
If you're from the United States, please consider reaching out to help save the ACP.

"But now this room is spinning while I'm trying just to fill in all the gaps."
ACP Finale masterlist
The voice in his head never leaves. “Hold still.” Max shook his head. “Be good, subject.” It's louder than ever. He shook his head again. “You’re being disobedient. You know what hapoens if you’re not good.” Pain. Pain and drowning. Drowning. Can’t breathe. He shook his head still. At the thoughts, the sounds, the laughs, the words, the screams, his screams. All the bad things in his head. He wants to say no. He wants to make it stop. But he belongs to them. Because they made him. “You don’t have parents. You don’t have family. We made you.” “No.” A strong voice suddenly silenced the scientist’s words. It’s Nasira’s voice. “They could never make someone as wonderful as you.” Nasira was simple, Nasira doesn’t lie. He holds onto her words like a lifebuoy in a stormy sea.
“My name’s Layla.” It shatters something in his mind. The person standing there leans against a wall for support, voice shaky and hunching over, making herself small, not like Nasira at all. Who was she? She keeps saying words he doesn’t understand, like that Nasira had died. Zak was smiley, not in the big way he usually was but small and gentle, he just accepted it. Dad and Isaac were smiling too, but in a different way, like they already knew. Static fired in his brain, this was all wrong. “I’m s-” “You lied!” he screams, voice cracking as he does. Nothing was right anymore, not even his voice. “You lied! You lied!” She looks up at him in shock, Dad and Isaac rise and move towards him. “You know what happens if you’re not good.” He doesn’t care anymore. He runs out of the living room, slamming the door at the voices shouting at him, trying to get to him. He runs into his room and locks it fast. He dashes under the bed where it’s dark, his head knocking against the roof of his hiding spot that he used to fit easily into. Nasira lies. “You belong to us. We made you.” So what was he supposed to believe?

ATTENTION US USERS
If you use ACP there are still ways to keep phone service!!
The FCC is still fighting for us, so don't give up yet. While you can't apply for new benefits, you can keep your service for sure until the end of May 2024, and switching over to, or getting equally approved for, Lifeline
Is super easy!!
Right now a lot of people are setting up booths. You can trust these people okay? They're paid by the government, people usually just like you on commission based to set people up on these phones. They'll give you a phone, usually it's cheap and has way too many apps on it, so I'd rec trying to get into Safelink and avoid Access if you can.
You can stay online, and stay active. Tell others!

Health Promotion and Disease PreventionÂ
Health Promotion and Disease PreventionÂ
Introduction Health promotion and disease prevention are critical components of public health strategies aimed at improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities at the 15th American Healthcare, Hospital management, Nursing, And Patient Safety Summit Here's an overview of these concepts:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Health Promotion:
1. Health promotion involves empowering individuals and communities to take control of their health and make positive lifestyle choices.
2 . It focuses on promoting behaviors and conditions that contribute to good health, such as regular physical activity, healthy eating, stress management, and avoiding tobacco and excessive alcohol consumption.
3 . Health promotion activities often include health education, community outreach, and the creation of supportive environments that facilitate healthy choices.
4 . Â The goal of health promotion is to enhance well-being, prevent diseases, and improve quality of life.
Disease Prevention:
1 . Disease prevention involves efforts to reduce the incidence, prevalence, and impact of diseases and health conditions.
2 . Prevention strategies may target different stages of the disease process, including primary prevention (preventing the onset of disease), secondary prevention (detecting and treating diseases in their early stages), and tertiary prevention (managing and reducing the complications of existing diseases).
3 . Prevention efforts may include vaccination programs, screening initiatives, health behavior interventions, and environmental modifications to reduce exposure to risk factors.
4 . Disease prevention aims to reduce the burden of illness, decrease healthcare costs, and improve overall population health outcomes.

You're already gone.
I'm so sorry that I haven't posted in a while! Horror Prompt #3. A woman starts watching a movie late at night. The movie seems all too familiar. Finally, she realizes that it is a movie about her own life and that she might be already dead.
Popcorn? Check.
Blanket? Check.
Movie that my friend recommended? Check.
I turned the lights off from the kitchen and settled down on the couch. My friend told me that I needed to watch this new video that came out. The DVD case sat on the coffee table, its glossy surface reflecting the dim light filtering in from the television set. He wasn’t exactly specific on what it was about, but told me that everyone was dying to see it.
The opening credits rolled but they weren’t in english. The music played softly as scenes of a beautiful family playing with a young child filtered through. The child’s laughter echoed in the room, filling me with nostalgia. I wrapped myself in the soft fleece, its comforting weight cocooning me in a sense of security as I settled onto the couch.
Despite the language barrier, I was drawn into the story, trying to piece together the plot from the visuals alone. The cinematography was beautiful, capturing every tender moment.I could almost taste the sweetness of the memories as they played out before me.
But as the movie progressed, scenes played out that mirrored events in my life. The child’s face bore an uncanny resemblance to my own. The first time I had gotten my ears pierced, talking with friends at the lunch table, even getting suspended for sticking up to a bully.
My heart pounded in my chest. Could this be a movie about my own life?Â
I called my friend frantically, the sound of the phone ringing long and drawn out. But it ended in his voicemail, leaving me with a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. Panic began to hit me like a tidal wave, threatening to engulf me in its icy grip. I reached for the remote, ready to pause the movie at any moment. Just as I was about to press the button, the screen flickered, and the scene shifted to my living room that I was currently sitting in.
My breath caught in my throat. The familiar surroundings heightened my sense of unease, and I felt a cold shiver run down my spine. The room was empty, save for myself and the glow of the television screen illuminating the darkness.Â
I tried my friend again, but the phone rang unanswered. I pressed the pause button on the remote, but it did nothing. The screen flickered and the room seemed to hold its breath. Shadows danced along the walls, casting eerie shapes in the darkness. The silence was deafening, broken only by the soft hum of the television. I felt a chill crawl up my spine as I stared at the bold words on the screen, their meaning sinking in like lead weights in my stomach.Â
“You’re already gone.”
