sometimes i randomly remember how insane maggie stiefvater was for making ronan lynch—a man that can create reality—a man of god, when he himself is a god of a man. then to take this man and have him be not only in love with, but a literal soulmate of a man named adam. parrish. adam parrish. who, mind you, lives above ronan's very own place of worship. and is the namesake of the first of mankind that the bible says god made from the literal dust of the ground (adam parrish: comes from nothing, hair "dusty" in color) and appoints him to care for the garden of eden (adam parrish: sacrifices himself to ronan's sentient forest). then has adam viewing ronan as a god and ronan saying "maybe he dreamt (created)" adam???? like who just fucking writes that and goes about their life?

Guys I'm back-

It has been a nightmare lately this is the only thing I managed to draw in weeks? Finals and uni stuff that's taking all of my time and energy, slowly turning me into a cafeinated slug (worst part is caffeine doesn't even have an effect on me? I only drink coffee for the TASTE can you imagine). Anyway the rush won't be over until end of January but hopefully I'll be able to ignore the stress and draw anyway :)

the moment where adam and blue are fighting and adam gets mad and it looks like he’s going to slam his fist against the wall but just gently, slowly taps the wall instead. that moment. adam trying so hard to be gentle. adam trying so hard not to be the reason someone else is scared. adam trying so hard to not be his father. because it is the job of sons to be better than their fathers.

If trb were girls Adam would be like 'god I hate how Gansey can get away with wearing no makeup and still look glamorous even though she could afford all the best products, not like me I need to use this drug store shit on my face just to slightly keep up and so people will treat me with respect' and Gansey would be like 'if I didn't have all these expectations upon me to be the perfect daughter and the perfect classmate and the perfect girl I would be able to just express myself like how Adam does I love Adam her eyeliner is so cool I want to be cool like Adam'. Reminder that the context for The choice was death or hurting Adam, which wasn’t much of a choice at all. was that Adam was possessed and strangling Ronan to death and Ronan didn't want to try and stop him in case he broke Adam's wrist because they felt fragile. He was happy to die so that he didn't accidentally break Adam's wrists. Wtf Ronan.

Another thing I love about The Raven Cycle is that it’s an entire four book series about fate and prophecy and escaping the narrative, but if you pay close attention you can see that the entire time, miniature prophecies are coming to fruition throughout the entire series. Niall Lynch tells his middle son that the day he was born, it rained blood, and Aurora told him ravens laughed. On the day Gwenllian is raised from her tomb, both occur. At the beginning of the second book, Gansey mentions that Glendower had magicians with him that could change the weather and tell the future. By the end, Gansey has both (Ronan, with his miniature suns and Adam, his psychic). Gansey approaches Ronan in the church in the first book, and is sure that his voice wakes Ronan from death. And then in the third, his voice has exactly that power.

ronan and noah's friendship is something soo special to me. noah seeing ronan at his kindest, loosest. ronan seeing noah at his most alive. them- the immortal creature in the body of a boy and the ghost who cannot stop haunting- getting to be teenagers together.
