“It’s not as if it chose to die for us,” Lilith pointed out. “It would rather be alive right now. If we really wanted to be respectful, wouldn’t we stop eating meat?”

“Do you want to stop eating meat?”

“If you want to become vegetarian, you can,” Mom said. “If you want to eat meat, you can. No matter what, we have to kill something to eat. But if you want to eat this deer, you should be able to watch me field dress it. You should know where the food we eat comes from, should know the mess and sacrifice that goes into the process.”

“This is wonderful, Mother,” Max said. “Is it chicken?”

“Quail, I believe,” Mother answered before hesitating. “Well, I’m fairly certain. We’re either having quail today or tomorrow.”

“Well, it’s divine.” Max primly took a bite, blotting at his mouth after. “The servants have outdone themselves.”

Rad as fuck things I have seen/found today: a pronghorn deer went tearing across the field in front of me, been many a year since I've seen one of those around. And in two different places found a complete skeleton spine, one of which had both the skull, jaw and pelvis still attached. And last week I found a moose antler which I've been hoping to find for a long time

Oh and also the google maps camera car went by right as I was working next to the highway, so I might be on google some time soon

Because I've always wondered WHERE that bone is whenever I see that top image. So I figured I couldn't be the only one who asked that. Now you know where that grinning lil guy sits in your spine.

Sacrum is a replacement due to roadkill damage. Tail has been partially degreased (that's why it's a different color).

Can't quite tell if there's enough ribs, how the lower ones round off suggests they're the last of the false ribs though, so maybe two too few on the left and the regular number on the right. Can't quite tell what's holes and what's shading on parts of the pelvis, it's not quite got the classic shape, also should be able to see the sacrum and coccyx at the back of the main hole. Everything seems in the right place and besides the pelvis the shapes all look good 8/10 love how delicate the bones look and the positioning, kinda makes me think they were caught in the pendant mid-stretch. Thank you so much for sharing this <3
