    he screen-shotted the driver’s information before it disappeared, the intent to file a report for assault and battery. but first, he needed to breathe. of course, he didn’t have his inhaler on him. he had one at his desk, and one at home. the heavy smoke, added on top of the cold he was likely coming down with was proving to be a bit too much for his lungs. every attempted deep breath sent him further into a coughing fit. he doesn’t waste his breath explaining himself. 

    ❝ it’s asthma. ❞ connor offered simply. granted, downtown detroit probably wasn’t the best place to go looking for fresh air, but it’s where he’d landed.
