~~~ Chapter 6 ~~~
Not All Canned Peaches and Marmalade
Tumblr media
I've attached the meat of the chapter below cuz this is a "weird" one I haven't seen much of in the fandom spaces. It was very fun to write, too, lol. Thank you for being pals :P
Despite the initial possessiveness which Val had greeted Cooper with, the ghoul woman proved to be a friendly presence. Val's hand was more gentle on the leash when she put it back on Lucy and the binding of her wrists was similarly considerate, as considerate as being bound could be, making Lucy wonder how someone as kind as Val had ever been with a man like him.
The subsequent visit to Diego's shop was a cluttered and chaotic affair, with Dogmeat coming to greet them from the saloon porch next door. The interaction with Diego was brief but telling; his wary discretion turning into a friendly smile only after he noted the bonds on Lucy's wrists. And, upon heading back to the saloon, greeted by a purple and navy blue eve full of stars, she was snatched up by one frustrated Cooper as Dogmeat excitedly sat down for her food.
All that and now not even supper is safe from humiliation.
Lucy sits on the floor of an old saloon, length of the leash tied to his stool, away from her, as he eats his supper. Hers sits on the floor, a bowl of chili bearing colors of red, orange, and yellow and flecks of green. Fresh vegetables, beans… things she hasn’t tasted in a long time. There are no utensils, simply a napkin beside her thigh. She stares at her bound wrists, considering them for a moment. How painfully pathetic.
She glances back up to Cooper, then about the saloon. Their counter’s along the wall, facing away from the dimly lit throng in the surprisingly crowded establishment, overlooking narrow, wooden windows facing the street. Wood smoke from the fire where the cauldron of chili stays warm fills the place with warm and cigarettes from the customer create a haze. Cooper sits in a way he can see both the other ghouls and the front casement, speaking to his general attentiveness. Lucy takes a deep breath, eyes returning to her bowl of food on the floor.
After a beat, she looks up to Cooper and raises her voice. “How exactly am I supposed to eat this?”
He laughs as if her situation is the funniest thing in the world. Cooper looks down for a moment and then bobs his head in the direction of the swing doors. Her gaze shifts to the doors leading out to the porch, making an effort to avoid his eye and any of the patrons around her. On said porch, Dogmeat crunches on the fatty brahmin bones offered generously by the staff as if she’s in her own personal heaven. She licks up the bits of gristle from the inside of a metal bowl. It makes Lucy smile briefly until she understands, flickering between her bowl and Coop’s stupid grin.
“You’re joking.” She gapes. “Not in a million—”
“Guess you’re goin’ hungry, then, darlin’.” He hums in approval, taking in the leash around her neck.
She doesn’t think she has ever felt more embarrassed than she has right now as she considers her lot. She is very hungry. There’s no way she’ll pass up on something this delicious. Lucy closes her eyes and begins her 5-1’s, trying to calm her nerves. The soft smack of a glass against their counter disturbs her from her efforts, and she’s back in the loud, busy saloon.
She resigns and takes one look at her bowl before adjusting herself and then diving in. The slurping smack that accompanies her first bite of chili earns the attention of Cooper’s neighbor, evident to her only by the pair of feet turning her direction and then back away. She feels a surge of embarrassment, but as she continues eating, she starts to find it surprisingly hard to care. The food tastes good, and for a moment, that's all that matters.
“There’s a good girl.” He purrs.
Lucy comes up for a break, her gaze unwavering as she narrows her eyes at Cooper, wishing her hands were free so she could slap him for being so self-satisfied. Cooper stares down at her from the stool, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. He seems to enjoy her discomfort, yet there's a flicker of something else—a slight softening in his gaze that he quickly masks with his usual smirk.
Well, that’s unambiguous.
She holds her breath and comes to her knees, wiping her chili-stained mouth onto the knee of Cooper’s pants. He jolts at the contact, practically pushing her off as his hands steady at her shoulders.
He hisses, lowering his voice. He takes up her napkin and dabs the crumbs away from her mouth, then off of his pants. “The fuck are you—”
Each of them look up to see their neighbor holding back a laugh at the sight of Lucy cleaning herself on Cooper’s pants. She smiles, amused. Good. Let him get some attention from this stupid game.
“This is what you wanted, right? Another dog?” She says with a grin. “Well, I’m just cooperating.”
“‘Cept good puppies obey their masters, don’t they? And you don’t exactly have a good track record in that department.”
Lucy growls. She has half a mind to bite off another finger, but she doesn’t so much as reach for him. Not that she could if she wanted to. She shuffles back towards her chili and takes a deep breath before sinking her head down.  She hears as he gets a refill on his glass, the liquid sounding particularly tempting right now. She shifts closer to him and nudges her forehead against his thigh, earning his interest. Cooper shifts in his stool, looking exactly at her, and she tilts her head back to make the exchange easier.
“Thirsty…” Is all she says before tilting her head back for some of the golden, sharp smelling liquid in his glass.
He lets out a snicker and she notices the one or two people glancing at them in the crowded bar turned swiftly into four or five. Cooper takes a sip of the drink before taking up her napkin again and dabbing away the chili stains near her lips.
“You’re a bit of a messy eater, huh?” he says, dabbing at her chin. “What’s the magic word, sweetheart?”
Her eyebrows knot together. “Please?”
Cooper shakes his head, taking another small, delicious sip of the drink. He swirls around the glass, smile softening into something warm. “Good start. But that ain’t it.”
Lucy snickers and shakes her head, knowing just how he’d like her to address him.
Good puppies obey their masters…
“I’m not saying that.”
He looks about to pull away and leave her there, turning away and focusing on the last bite of his meal. Though she knows it’s all part of the charade, she takes a deep breath. Lucy scratches at his pant leg, nuzzling her face into him and playing up the stupid puppy thing.
She can tell Coop is both amused and annoyed by her little display as she whines. “Please, sir… I’m thirsty.”
He seems to accept that, at least a little. His eyes stay locked to hers, cocky smile still plastered to his face after a laugh passes his lips in a low rumble that is felt more than heard. She stares at him coolly, but softens when he raises the glass to her lips.
“Now that’s a good puppy…”
She tilts her head back and he does the same with the glass. It burns going down and she notices him take a couple of small pills from his breast pocket; RadX tablets. She holds her mouth open for them and he pops them in, followed by another swig of his burning liquid. She swallows down the abrasive substance and, after he pats her head, she makes a move to bite. Not with any great deal of force, just enough to register. However, it is her that registers the difference in his trigger finger after she has felt it between her teeth. He holds it up to her with a too proud grin and she gapes, turning her head from the sight. Unmistakably is the finger he stole from her replaced on his hand. On the same hand that…
Oh god, the world is spinning.
“Looks like someone’s learned their manners, huh?”
Lucy scoffs, pushing the sight out of her mind before she think too much about it. She bends down and begins to lick the rest of her chili out of the bowl. At least the food tastes good. At least she has this. She keeps thinking about how much worse things could be, how much worse he has been before all of this… and yet none of it helps.
The sound of beads striking together from behind the bar catches her attention. The striking silhouette of Val steps out from behind the bar. With her, she has five RadAway bags and the caps for Lucy’s work. She lays the RadAway across Cooper’s lap and the drawstring bag of caps at Lucy’s feet.
“Great job on those pipes, Lucy.” Val says down to Lucy before returning her attention to Cooper. “Found the RadAway in the back. Figured y’all deserve the rest of it for her good work.”
“Thank you, darlin’.” Cooper speaks with a lazy smile as he pats the RadAway bags.
Val chuckles at the sight of Lucy, face messy with the last bit of her chili stuck to her lips. Cooper takes her napkin again and dabs away the excess from her mouth.
“Looks like you still know how to keep a girl in her place, huh?” Val shakes her head, shifting away from the pair. “Y’all have fun tonight. And remember, girlie…” She says, one finger gently scratching Lucy’s scalp. “Don’t let this asshole push you around too much.”
Val’s words, hinting at genuine concern, make her feel a bit more at ease. As if on cue, Cooper smiles down at Lucy. “Now what do good littles say after they’ve been rewarded?”
Lucy huffs at him before turning to Val with a warm smile. “Thank you, Val.”
“No problem, sweetie pie.”
As Val heads back in the direction of the bar, Lucy coughs from the pressure of the tugging on the leash. Shakily, she gets to her feet and he drapes the bag of caps, by the drawstrings, around her neck. Weighing her down even further. Cooper drapes the RadAway bags over one arm and plops his hat back onto his head, the leash slipping through his fingers a little bit before he readjusts and gives a light tug as he urges her forward, getting a very dog-like whimper from her. Lucy lets him lead her forward towards the saloon doors, where they pick up a satisfied Dogmeat from the porch.
Dogmeat trots along behind them as they cross the dirt ridden street towards the hostel. As soon as they’re away from earshot of the saloon, patrons trickling outside every so often, her anger is set loose.
“You didn’t have to do any of that!” She hisses. “That was… I hope I never see any of those people ever again.”
He gives a sideways smirk, clearly enjoying the fact that he had embarrassed her to his liking. Had sunk her to new lows. “What? Didn’t like being my puppy ‘round those folks?”
She growls. “This puppy will bite her “master” tonight if he’s not more careful.”
Cooper lets out a cocky laugh, clearly not phased by her jab. His grip of the leash tightens as they near the inn. “Oh yeah? You gonna threaten your “master”? Not very bright…”
“Maybe I will…” She says, pressing her nose into his back when he comes to a brief stop to readjust the RadAway bags across his arm. “What will you do about it?”
He turns on her, looking her up and down for a moment before lifting her chin. Nowhere to go. Nowhere to hide. She swallows. “Teach you how to be a good girl in public, that’s what.”
Lucy’s eyes lock onto Cooper’s, and for a moment, she feels a spark of excitement she’s too ashamed to admit. His words bring back memories of her pre-war studies, and for a moment, she understands old world restriction.
She’s only brought out of her stupor when he tugs on the leash, sending her forward into the lobby of the hostel. Now she’s gotta play the stupid game all over again. But this time, it will be he who is shifting in embarrassment.
Dogmeat seems to sense her plans and takes up the rear, leaving her and Coop close as they head for a bulletin board at the other end of the lobby. The hostel is a small place, a counter greeting them upon entry with a man sitting behind writing in an accounting book. The scent of old wood accompanies them as she sees, with Cooper, the wanted list. Starting with the cowboy ghoul himself. He seems to relish being up there.
“No one has tried to claim you yet?” She asks.
He smiles, his ego not lacking when he sees the bounty on his back. “You think this is the first time I’ve got a bounty on my head? When you’re too good at anything, there’s a whole host of people wantin’ to get ya… looks like it’s doubled, though. And would you look at that…”
He thumps the image beside his. A man in a stolen T-60. Disheveled hair, a few nicks across his face, a light chizzle to his jaw. One Hank MacLean: Alive.
Lucy gapes at her dad’s wanted poster. At the idea that she’ll have to contend for her father’s death. Does she even have it in her to finally kill him? He deserves it, she’s known that much for a while. And, sadly, she doesn’t have any answers. Doesn’t have an answer for any of her thoughts. It still hurts, thinking about the man who brought her up. Who raised her on a diet of genuine kindness and selflessness and turned out, himself, to be exactly the opposite. The feelings she had already experienced - the sadness, the anger, the fear - all dissipated into the most uncomfortable soup of numbness she had ever experienced. Part of her wished he had simply died. It would be easier to handle than… all of this.
She sinks to the floor on her hands and knees, looking like the “good puppy” she’d planned on being. Yet, now, revenge is at the back of her mind. She doesn’t care. Not about that or anything else.
“Whoa…” She breathes, voice shaky.
Cooper seems to feel some small amount of sympathy at seeing her this way. He doesn't say anything, but he does offer her the first gentle, reassuring touch of the night, running his hand through her hair in a soothing gesture.
Papers rustle from behind them as a male ghoul comes up to them. He greets Cooper with a pat on his back. “Perusing the bulletin? If ya got any questions, I’d be happy to answer ‘em.”
Cooper smirks down at Lucy before returning his gaze to the bulletin and then up to the man beside him. “Do got one question for ya, Farhad.” He lifts a gloved finger to point at Hank’s picture. “Have you seen this fella around? Stolen mech suit?”
He nods. “Yeah, I heard about him. He came through the area a couple weeks ago. You collecting the bounty?”
Lucy looks between the two men, about to stand up before Cooper gives her his classic “don’t you do it” look. She huffs and remains on the floor as he looks back to the other ghoul, his expression becoming a little more guarded.
“Somethin’ like that. So he came through here?”
Farhad shakes his head. “Nah. Smoothies never come through here. Unless, of course… y’know—” he motions to Lucy on the floor, a smirk on his lips as he looks her over.
Lucy takes that as her opportunity and inches closer to Farhad, rubbing her face against his knee. He winces at first, looking down at her as if he’s going to burn her alive. It’s the scariest thing she’s ever seen as his lifeless eyes bore at her. Keeping herself cool, she makes a little whine that seems to calm him down. She displays her bound wrists, scratching the rope against his shoes, and he settles, looking back up to Cooper whose brow furrows at her little display.
“As far as I know…” Farhad says, clearing his throat. “The man’s still holed up with House in the Lucky 38.”
Lucy bristles at the mention of her dad with House, sitting back on her haunches and looking up at Farhad. She only knows what little Cooper told her about House. And if that’s where he is, and if he has the power of House’s army of securitrons and other weapons… then they’re fucked.
Or at least she feels that way.
Cooper returns to stroking her hair as the reality of the situation becomes clearer by the minute. He looks to Farhad with a nod. “Yeah, that'd be about right… Think he’s still got that army, then?”
The other ghoulish man shrugs. “Haven’t been out that way in over 20 years. Just know that it’s a bit noisy over there. And with the Brotherhood gettin’ involved… who knows what’s gonna happen.”
Lucy swallows. So the Brotherhood is definitely getting involved. She hopes, prays Maximus is safe. Not a good sign by any means.
“Damn… thanks for the heads up, then.”
Farhad smiles at Cooper, then down at Lucy. “It’s nice to see you again, Coop.” He looks back up to him and offering his free hand. “Especially with your pretty, little puppy. Mind if I pet her?”
Lucy smirks up at Cooper, panting as she comes up to her knees. Cooper gives a slight smile at Farhad’s question, clearly somewhat amused by her show. It’s not at all the reaction she was hoping to get and it’s infuriating.
“Go right ahead.” He says, the hint of a smirk on his lips.
Lucy puts on a happy face as Farhad strokes her hair. The other ghoul grins down at her, lifting her chin and examining her teeth. She stares directly at Cooper as she kisses and licks the back of Farhad’s hand.
This could be you if you were nice to me.
Farhad smiles, patting her head one last time before taking a step back and admiring her. Or more likely… Cooper’s hold on her. The thought makes her shiver. “She’s a keeper, Coop. Pearly whites ‘n’ everything. Got yourself quite the find.”
He chuckles softly, still a hint of a cocky smirk on his lips in the aftermath of her acting for Farhad. He had given him a pointed look while doing so, one that made her feel a little conflicted. Knowing now that this whole thing wasn’t just a charade, that her safety really was at the forefront of his mind, was no small reassurance. Of course, Cooper couldn’t resist the urge to tease her a little, gently tugging on her leash after Farhad compliments her.
He responds simply to Farhad’s words. “I’ll never find a better one.”
Wait… what?
“Thank you kindly for those chems earlier.” He continues. “God knows what I woulda done without ‘em.”
Farhad smiles. “No problem at all. Y’all made my night. I’m sure you’ll be needing those a heck of a lot more than anyone else around here if you wanna stay good for her.”
Lucy laughs at the idea of Cooper staying “good” for her, but she doesn’t question it. She knows precisely what Farhad means when he says that.
Coop gives a nod of appreciation in his direction.
“And thanks to your girl, our showers are up ’n’ runnin’ again.”
Lucy perks up at the idea of a shower, of finally freeing her skin from the grime of her travels.
Farhad notices her excitement and hums. “I put some fresh towels in there, so just holler if you need anything else. We got a kennel down the hall, too, if you want a place to rest the dog. Know those rooms get pretty tight.”
“Much obliged.” Cooper nods, then directing his attention to Lucy. “Up you go.”
Lucy stands on shaky feet. Her legs tremble slightly as she follows Cooper down the dimly lit hall, reaching out to give her a pat on the head, a gesture that feels both patronizing and strangely comforting. They stop at the kennel, where Cooper hands over Dogmeat to one of the employees. The dog climbs, without question, into the crate, Cooper sure to secure his own padlock on the door.
With Dogmeat safe, they continue upstairs, Lucy still bearing the weight of the cord around her neck. As they pass by the kennel employee, they hum in her direction, as if to say "why not put her in there too?” Cooper's expression darkens, and he gives the keeper a quick hand gesture, leading them swiftly back up to their room. The employee's laughter trails off, replaced by an awkward silence.
Once in the room, Cooper doesn’t even bother to remove the leash or her bonds. Lucy chooses to remain silent, in spite of the close quarters bringing them together. The room is small, with a bed, end table, dresser, and chair. The window is barred, casting a grid of shadows on the floor from the moonlight outside. Lucy’s eyes narrow, her gaze fixed on Cooper as she stands there, her heart racing until he closes the door behind them.
“What was that down there?” He leans against the closed door with a soft smirk on his lips. “Somethin’ on your mind?”
It’s bait. She refuses to take it. Lucy takes a few steps forward, invading his space enough that she can feel his hot breath wash over her from the cavity in his face. The bag of caps around her neck press against his torso.
“Nope.” She says with a wide grin, raising her bound hands. “Will you take them off now so I can shower?”
He grabs her by her arms, gently moving her towards the dresser where her back rams up against its cool wood. Cooper pulls the bag off of her neck and sets it aside, where he makes a show of removing her bonds, holding her bound hands to his chest. He mentally dissects the rope before his fingers finally close in to take them off. She returns his inviting expression as he works, taking an opportunity to get lost in her eyes. Slowly flickering between his gloved fingers, going at the rope around her wrists, and his deep blue eyes, she feels that heat blossoming again. And hates him for it. Lucy holds his gaze as the bonds come loose. It’s no accident. Those aren’t nerves alone.
Fudge…
He slinks away once the rope has been removed and she realizes she barely registered the moment she was free. He removes his bandolier and duster, setting them aside on a chair in the tight corner of the room. “You gonna keep starin’ through me like that or do you want your shower?”
Lucy turns to the dresser where she removes her pipboy. She roots through her pack, finding the second tank top and a fresh pair of underwear and socks. She looks around her, forgetting the caps that were once weighing her down. They sit at her feet and before she decides to stuff it away in the top drawer, she takes a peek inside just to see them. Just to be reminded of her success. What she also sees, however, is the silk nightdress she spotted with Val. Lucy contemplates it for a moment, a second too long by her company’s standards, and swaps the tank in her hand for the nightdress.
“Well, come on, then. It ain’t a fashion show.”
He already had whatever he planned on wearing in his hands. Then she registers light pressure on the leash.
Right. That’s still in play.
After opening the door, Cooper tugs her into the hallway and they head for the showers. Going down the hall again, this time with free hands, feels almost like an entirely new experience as she considers the man leading her there. Once in, she’s off the leash. The room smells a bit heavy, soap mixing with metallic scents indicating rust. Lucy reaches into a cubby for a towel and some slippers and heads to the first stall, closing a curtain behind her. All she can think of when she creaked open the faucet was what she planned to do to that awful ghoul.
Bamf Babies
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
RQ: 'I saw that you opened your requests and could I request a dabble of the daily life of Kurt and his partner who treats his bamfs as if they're are their babies? Like she cooks for them, makes them little clothes, tucks them in, gives them names (with Kurt's approval, of course), and all that?' - @mari-thesimp
Warnings: GN reader, though the term 'mother' is used just once just as a way to describe your role. Unedited.
A/N: Umm yes??? Ugh, this was a fun little drabble. The bamfs, come on, cute little guys. I wish I had one. I'd kill for one.
Tumblr media
The bamfs were...a lot...when you first met them. They were like little gremlins who were constantly at full energy, scampering around and getting into things they weren't supposed to. The only time they weren't running around so much was when they finally sat to eat. Kurt noticed that they were fond of you right away, and while he has to leave for missions, he decides to leave them with you, or at least a few at a time before it gradually turned into all of them.
You became their unofficial mother. But like hell you'd deny that.
The bamfs slept with you, all curled up beside you like a litter of kittens. Their soft, velvety skin felt so warm against you, like gentle peach fuzz. Sometimes they fought to sleep the closest to you, some would cry and you'd have to reassure them.
Bamfs can be quite jealous, so you have to make sure to show equal amounts of affection and love, otherwise it can cause an unruly bamf which is never fun. As you learned how they worked, you got better at managing them all.
Each morning, you wake up and made them breakfast. Kurt is normally exhausted, so you let him sleep in. The bamfs scramble out of bed with you, eager and happy. their little chirps and chitters fill the kitchen as they gather by your feet. Some climb on the counter, trying their best to help you cook. Pancakes were their favorite, but they weren't so good at making them. They tried, but they often made a big mess with the batter. Then they fought...and an even bigger mess happens.
So you handle the mixing. You learned.
They still liked to try to help, so you let them put chocolate chips or blueberries in them if they wanted. Each pancake you poured, you held up a bamf and they sprinkled in their add-on. Each one was served and given syrup, and now you had a handful of happy, quiet bamfs. Still and busy eating their food. Their big cheeks full of sweet pancakes as they ate happily.
"Guten Morgen..." Kurt says groggily, making his presence known. He's got major bedhead, trudging over to you and rubbing his eye sleepily. You return the greeting, smiling at him as he hugs you from behind. "Any for me...?" he asks tiredly, his face nuzzles your neck.
"Of course," you chuckle lightly. The bamfs had to get their sweet tooth from somewhere, and Kurt's sweet tooth was crazy.
You make Kurt his breakfast, and pass out cut up bananas and fruits for the bamfs. Some pout, and you chuckle. "Now, you have to have something healthy too, little ones. Besides, bananas and berries are yummy." You spoke gently to them, scratching their heads as you distributed the food. They all reluctantly ate the fruit, wanting to make you happy.
After breakfast, it's bath time. You bath the bamfs twice a day, they get...dirty, very easy. Luckily all of them can fit in the bathtub, so it's not that difficult. You scrub them and wash their hair, seeing them happily splash and play in the water. Some hate the water, they are like cats, trying to get away from the tiniest of drops, but you manage. There are one or two where Kurt has to help hold them in so you can wash them. The poor bamfs cry and try their hardest to get out, but only when they're clean. You give them lots of kisses when they're done, so they feel better. The little dears eventually stop crying, but they pout and are grumpy.
You like to play with them, you go outside and play on the playgrounds with them, the bamfs love slides. They're also little spiders, crawling on every single thing they can.
"Careful!" you called, one bamf climbed on the very top of the castle and chirped victoriously. The bamf seemed so proud of itself, but like that instinct you had, the bamf slipped and slid off the castle top and down to the wooden pellets that covered the playground. It landed on its back and its little body rolled over, the force of the landing turned it onto its belly.
A soft hic and it started to cry. You rushed over, Kurt noticed and teleported beside the little bamf as it cried. Its tearful cheeks damp as it reached up to you. "Awe it's okay...I'm here baby..." you cooed, holding the darling bamf close. It was a little dirty, but otherwise okay. Nothing broken, "You're gonna have one hell of a knot on your head later, sweetheart."
The bamf cried and buried itself into you, the others were concerned and slowed their play as you comforted the hurt bamf. "He's okay, liebe...just a little hurt." Kurt reassured, but the bamf didn't want to be put down and you didn't want to let it go yet.
"I know, I know...just let me comfort him..." you whispered to Kurt, whom backed off and let you do your thing. "Shh, sh...it's alright, you slipped, that's all. You're okay, little one..." you reassured the bamf and gave it a little kiss on the head, your hand gently soothing the sore spot.
Playtime didn't last much longer, you all went inside to clean up once again, and it was dinner time. You cooked and hummed, the bamf who hurt itself didn't leave your side, crying and wanting to be held constantly. You of course held it, the poor thing kept itself buried against you. The darling had a wrap around its head where it fell and you held an ice pack to the spot when you weren't stirring dinner at the stove.
Kurt occupied the rest, they couldn't use sharp utensils, but they helped season things. When dinner was served, it was a typical mealtime, they ate happily with little complaint unless it came to brussel sprouts and broccoli. You cleaned up, and came to the den to relax for the evening and enjoy their company...and Kurt's of course.
The bamfs colored at the table, most of their drawings were messy and childlike. The injured bamf stayed close to you, laying in your lap with the ice on its head. The pitiful bamf was extremely attached to you, and would sometimes make cries to get your attention when it wanted more.
Kurt stayed close to you, sighing down at the little bamf. "He's really attached to you, schatz...all of them are. They might love you more than me," he chuckled lightly, kissing your temple. The comment and kiss made you smile lightly, your heart beating a little quicker.
"Ah well...I just try to care for them the best I can." Your thumb was gently rubbing the bamf's cheek, the little one had fallen asleep in your lap. "I think it's bedtime, the others are quite sleepy too."
The rest were slow and sluggish now, yawning and rubbing their eyes. Kurt agreed, leading them all up to your bedroom. "Alright little ones...let's get you in your jammies." you hummed, holding up little onsies you made for them. Putting clothes on them for the first time was hard, but over the months, they learned to adjust. It was like putting clothes on a cat, they acted funny at first but as you learned the sizes and where the clothes were pinching, you figured out how to make the clothes as comfortable as possible.
They all slept in bed with you, but they had their own little corner where there was a big nest they slept in too. However, you couldn't deny them if they wanted to sleep beside you, especially the hurt one. So after you changed and got ready for bed, you slipped in and they all piled in after you. The injured snuggling close, then the rest came around and settled.
Kurt was behind you, his tail wrapping around your leg. "Comfy?" he asks you softly, and you nod in return. You were exhausted. The day was long and you were ready for bed. You had a little family here, and you couldn't be happier with your life. Kurt and the bamfs were your everything, and you were theirs.
