At the beginning of Sonic 3, the Wachowskis plan a surprise party to celebrate Sonic's coming to Earth.

Which of course makes me think of Generations, but funny enough I think it was handled better here. The idea being that Sonic isn't an easy person to surprise.

But what the Wachowskis did was distract Sonic with something that he loves which in this case was a friendly race amongst his friends.

Nena's song "99 Luftballons" provoked a cultural dilemma when Americans realized that "Luftballon" did not mean "Red Balloon" as commonly translated, but "Air Balloon." Americans grew suspicious of what other kind of balloon than air Germany had discovered, nearly resulting in global nuclear war as the song itself had prophesied. In the end, it turned out the alternative was merely "Staubballon," just like any American dust-balloon.

For those who don't know, Sega added a special promotion for the 3rd movie in Shadow Generations in the form of a level based around Shadow arriving in Tokyo.

The level comes with 2 challanges, one being you have to destroy 50 balloons before you clear the stage. Now, do you believe this was done on purpose because the movie played "99 Red Balloons" by Goldfinger during the ipening race scene,

I think my new favourite song just came from my history teacher 😭

It's called 99 luftballoons (99 red balloons) and it's actually so good. It's related to the cold war, and the basic premise is some children let out red balloons into the sky, and nuclear destruction follows.
