This Halloween, my daughter ran away. I cannot tell you how agonising it was not being able to find her. She was found, thank goodness, 4.5kms away.

Please, please, please keep your kids safe. This could have ended so badly. And even though it didn't, I this has broken me so bad.

Teach your kids when it's appropriate to talk to strangers. Keep an eye out on kids who don't have an adult looking after them.

What has always been my favourite celebration of the year is a dark reminder of the day I nearly lost my precious, precious girl.

She ran away because I had said she couldn't go to a friend's Halloween party because she'd been getting into things and it was a consequence.

Being a parent can be so utterly devastating and I can see why a lot of people choose not to be parents.

Sorry for the vent, but I just want everyone to be even more protective of their children. Have safety plans in place.
