the city never sleeps (and that makes two)
Fandom: 9-1-1 | Pairing: Buddie | Rating: Explicit | Length: 3k Written for the @911bingo square: Prostitute AU Summary:
Eddie had so much on his plate between getting himself through the Fire Academy, taking care of his son's multiple kinds of therapies, and trying to keep up with his abuela's bills on top of his own... How was he expected to go out on dates to get to know people and find the energy to sleep with them after? All of this was to say that he wasn’t proud of how Thursday night ended in a hotel bed with a man he hired over the internet, but he didn’t really have any other choice.

Bingo Square: Kissing in the Rain @911bingo
Buck can't move. Every bone and muscle in his body has seized up as he watches Tommy walk out the door, his eyes unwavering, unable to tear themselves away from where the man had just walked away.
I'm not your last, I'm your first.
But- but Tommy was- how could he...
No.
Buck is not about to let him walk away from this without saying his piece.
Absolutely not.
He takes off from the loft, not bothering to close the door behind him as he makes a beeline for the stairs.
Bursting through the door, he barely makes out Tommy's retreating figure in the haze of rain that had started to pour from the sky, but nothing is about to stop him from going after what he wants.
"Tommy, wait!" He watches as his desperate plea pauses Tommy in his slumped walk to his car, the man turning around with wide eyes. Buck can see the tears shining in his eyes through the raindrops dripping down his face, his own mirroring them.
"Buck do-"
"No! You've said more than enough. It's my turn." But suddenly, he's frozen, because how is he supposed to portray all of the emotions bubbling to the surface without scaring him off more? How could he possibly tell him how he felt without-

You take my breath and steal the things I know
Rated: E | Words count: 3342 | written for the square deepthroating on my @911bingo card.
Summary:
Tommy groans into Buck's mouth and the kiss gets sloppier but also more passionate, one of Tommy's hands tangled into his hair and the other curled around his jaw. “Fuck, Evan.”
Buck’s pretty sure that Tommy's still holding back a little and he's about to tell him not to when Tommy's cock catches on his thigh and he gasps, suddenly needing more. The pressure against his thigh increases a bit and he groans, realizing how damn hot it is to feel how much he's affecting Tommy, to feel his cock going from soft to half hard against his body. “Tommy, I– I think I'm ready for– for something more.”
Tommy brushes their noses together and takes a deep breath like he's steadying himself, then grins and presses a soft kiss to Buck's lips. “You're going to be the death of me, Evan,” he whispers, sneaking a hand beneath the fabric of Buck's t-shirt.

or, the one where Buck and Tommy take things further for the first time.

square seven complete!
working on a dream
Bingo square: secret sibling | BuckTommy Winter Fest, week sixteen: dads/accidental baby acquisition
Words: 6,096 | Rated: G
Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence | Established Relationship | Self-Esteem Issues | Fluff | Accidental Baby Acquisition
Tommy's legs feel like lead as he enters Bobby's office, heart pounding in his throat as Evan shuts the door and turns to him. He's honestly not sure where to even start when Evan tentatively asks, "what's wrong?", a concerned look on his face as he steps close enough to take Tommy's hand gently in his own. Tommy feels all kinds of overwhelmed as he tries to force his thoughts into some form of coherency, tears threatening to start up again when he braves looking into Evan's worried baby blues. Unfortunately coherence doesn't come and instead he finds himself blurting, "I'm adopting a baby." Evan's frown deepens even as surprise flashes across his face. "You're… what?"

9-1-1 Bingo: Round 4 - 5 alarm fire
Tumblr media
the chief, the captain, and the probie
Tommy has always been a light sleeper.
His time in the army and years as a firefighter has ingrained in him the ability to wake in a microsecond and spring into action at the sound of an alarm, the vestiges of sleep draining from him in an instant the moment his eyes snap open.
He’s essentially programmed to recognize and respond to the sound of an alarm or bell, so when the screech of his home fire alarm penetrates through his sleep on a morning after a 24-hour shift, Tommy’s hands instantly start reaching for his uniform boots the second his head is off the pillow.
When they instead find slippers in the space next to his bed, Tommy blinks as his brain reboots. He’s not at harbour. He’s not in the barracks. It’s not the bell alerting the crew to an emergency.
It’s the smoke alarm in the kitchen.
The space in the bed next to him is empty, Evan having likely long been awake and going about his day while Tommy sleeps, and while he knows his husband is more than capable of handling any emergency they might find arising in the house Tommy’s heart still stutters.
“Evan?” Tommy calls, not pausing to stuff his feet into the slippers as he springs from the bed and out into the upstairs hallway. The sound of the alarm is louder out here and there’s a definite smell of smoke in the air.
It’s not the one that comes from a cigarette or a bonfire, and not one of burnt food. It’s the one that he would recognize anywhere, the one that he smells at least once, if not more, a shift. It’s the smell of burning wood and fabric. It’s the smell of a house fire.
“Evan!” He checks each of the upstairs rooms, finding them clear and empty of both fire and people, and flies down the stairs, his feet barely touching each one. The smell gets stronger but there’s little sign of smoke, only a very light misting in the air which tells him that, wherever the source of the fire is, it hasn’t spread too far yet. He still has time to contain it.
The first thing he and Evan had done when they’d moved in was place a small extinguisher and a fire blanket in every room of the house. They’ve both witnessed the devastation of household fires and how easily they can start and spread to the entire property, taking possessions and lives in the blink of an eye. Tommy grabs the first extinguisher he passes, the one tucked just behind the large houseplant by the front door.
Pulling the pin Tommy keeps calling for his husband as he follows the whisps of steadily darkening smoke through to the kitchen, and with every shout going unanswered his panic starts to grow.
Perhaps he isn’t home, maybe he’s popped to the park or the supermarket, there’s a growing list of things they’ve run out of stuck to the fridge that they’ve been meaning to pick up.
The alarm in the kitchen screams at him when he steps over the threshold making Tommy’s ears ring, but he only has eyes for the open door that leads into the yard, black smoke trailing in which appears to be what set it off.
What the hell is burning in their garden?

kiss me with everyone watching by prettyboybuckley
3.8k | 1/1 | Teen and Up | No Warnings Apply | Evan "Buck" Buckley/Eddie Diaz
For the @911bingo prompt: Dared to Make Out (though I realized too late it said make-out and not kiss so it's, like, barely making out)
Summary:
The moment Chimney opens his mouth and utters those words, Eddie knows that it's going to happen, that he's going to be kissing Buck because Buck isn't going to back down from a dare. (And neither is Eddie if he's being honest.) "I dare you," Chim says, his eyes sparkling with mischief, a smug grin on his face. For a moment, Buck doesn't move, and then he turns around and promptly drops himself into Eddie's lap in the armchair. OR: The team has drinks at the Grant-Nash house and Chim comes up with a dare that might either be the best or the worst thing that has ever happened to Eddie

There was something in the air, almost like a sizzling, that made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
Buck seemed to notice this, too, at least Eddie saw his best friend look up at the sky in wonder.
Then, everything happened at once.
Before Eddie knew what hit him – quite literally – he was thrown off the ladder truck by a shock wave.
---
Or: Buck is not the only one that gets hurt in 6x10. (Because, really, have you seen Eddie fall off the truck?)

Here Comes the Jackpot Question In Advance
911  |    Buck/Eddie   |    Rated PG    |    c. 4100 words
@911bingo prompt: free space (completes a row!)
When Buck texts him late on Christmas Day to see if he can pick him up from LAX on the 26th instead of the 29th, Eddie simply answers, “of course” and leaves it at that. He can hold the questions until tomorrow.
That doesn't mean he isn't surprised when Buck looks – well, fine – when he jumps into the truck less than twenty four hours later.
“I look fine because I am fine,” Buck says, which makes Eddie frown as he weaves his way around the taxis and the confused tourists wandering across the road like L.A. drivers aren't homicidal. “It was the best Christmas I've had with my parents in – you know, I think it's the best Christmas I've ever had with them, period.”
“So you made up a bullshit story about having to fly back early to cover a shift because...”
“Because it was really good, and I didn't want to take the risk that it would get less good.” He pauses. “I know that sounds weird.”
“No,” Eddie says, shaking his head. “It doesn't.” It made perfect sense that Buck was wary of things going south with his family, because that's what tended to happen. “Maybe next year you can stay longer, or you might decide that short visits are the way to go. It's your choice.”
Buck smiles. “Thanks for understanding. I think Maddie thought I was a little bit crazy, but she supported me.”
“That's what big sisters are supposed to do.”
Buck sighs. “Plus when I first planned the trip two months ago, I was still with Natalia. I know they understood we broke up, but I didn't want them to start asking too many questions.”
“Or offering to set you up with their friend's daughter from the country club.”
Buck shudders. “They've never tried to do that, thank god.”
“You've hit thirty and you have no wife in sight. Desperate times call for desperate measures.”
“Dickhead,” Buck says, but there's a clear affection in his tone that warms Eddie in a way he doesn't want to think about too much. “Merry late Christmas, by the way.”
“Merry Christmas. Though you told me that yesterday.”
“A text isn't the same.” Buck yawns. “Oh man, I'm beat.”
“Too beat to come back to the house and open your presents?”
“Presents?” Buck asks, perking up. “As in more than one?”
“Christopher wanted to get you his own this year.”
When Buck doesn't say anything right away, Eddie glances over at him and sees his eyes are shining. He looks away again quickly as Buck ducks his head and wipes a hand across his face.
“No,” Buck rasps. “I mean no, I'm not too tired.”
Eddie swallows around the sudden tightness in his throat. “Go ahead and sack out if you want. I'll wake you up when we get home.”
“Home,” Eddie thinks he hears Buck murmur under his breath, but when he glances over again, Buck's eyes are already closed.

Summary:
"Yeah, there was this call with those two brothers…", Chim starts while Buck and Ravi start clearing away the boxes full of conserved food, water and a lot of other stuff that Buck doesn't even want to think about. He takes a step through the hallway where he just cleared away one of the boxes, making space for a much shorter way to get their patient out of here, when he feels the floor give in a little beneath his foot. And hears the click. He looks down at the floor and the kind of obvious part of it that looks different."Oh. That's not good…"
-
Or, Buck is on shift when he steps on a bomb. Eddie, for once isn't- but that doesn't mean he'll let Buck be alone through all of this.
This is both a Whumptober entry and my first Bingo Square "You Were The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me" done! It's a bit angsty tho, so mind the tags :)

Buck clears his throat again, fidgeting with his ring as he takes another steadying breath. “There's something else I want to tell you,” he says, meeting Bobby's gaze.
