dr rants!
the squirrelly, inane edition that leaves you wondering why your eyes loom over certain semicolons and en-dashes [ how self-deprecating, i know 🎀 ]
also .. my first post, a liberating departure from the chains of shifttok
Tumblr media
marauders; tell me why sirius black, heir apparent to the noble house of inbreeding, behaves like a broken analog clock — drinking at the sixth hour, and a mental breakdown with the occasional tactless jab when his little hand strikes nine ( i'll admit the metaphor is bizarre because i can't even tell the hour hand from the minute, anywho .. )
sirius black? oh, he invented sarcasm. and ebony locks of hair, chainsmoking ( whilst listening to lana del rey, crying in the shower ), sporadicity & a taste for gryffindor's finest, a bowie-loving werewolf
with him, it's always, "lonnie, i swear to god if you don't leave regulus alone," or, "let's deflower a firewhiskey after divination," no in-between
the insipid crash-outs & tantrums of an old-money dauphin must sound riveting, but a half-blood beauxbatons transfer can only behave so .. cordially; after all, my family's motto does translate to something like, "strike the iron while it's hot," and i'm not sure pulling sirius black's hair back as he [ i don't want to gross you out ] is what my ancestors had in mind whilst stitching gilded threads on our coat-of-arms
so .. do i ghost the anti-hero? i'm sure we'd have way more fun anyway if he was sorted into slytherin, or if i wasn't in his brother's year
gossip girl; serena van der woodsen, silver spring of her family, once said to me, "it's not my world, i just live in it." i'm pretty sure she was drunk, because she's no sylvia plath, no matter how hard she pretends. naïve me, in the dregs of upper east side bacchanals, more or less, teenage debauchery, and affairs on both sides of the tennis court — i'd no idea the roman holidays she was referring to, for death had always taken vacation on mine
picture this: a soirée, a suicide, a suit of cards ( hearts for the ones broken, clubs for the ultraviolence, diamonds for the [ well, we're bourgeoisie, there isn't much else to say ], and spades for my blackened luck )
i won't name-drop, but this ballot triggers easily to the unyielding imagination. let's just say an un-judging breakfast club was left fractured, and now i know to mark my julian calendar for the next time death and his blooded scythe strike
90s fame; how does one recover from the faux-pas, glossy tabloids of la la land? mixed reviews from critics and i questioned my steed in the oscar race, no golden globe nomination ( must they ignore me, so? and i know i could just script it in, but what's the fun in that?? ) and i'd already booked an month-off to st. tropez
a few things that i remember from this era
candid shots of me & heath ledger, drunk & the snl parody skit that followed
rumors of false behind-the-scenes drama, which then spurred into actuality 🤦‍♂️
appearing in britney spear's '.. baby one more time' mtv mv ( i was so nervous dbsndjwa )
i was on nirvana's 4th album cover ( scripted out kurt's death )
".. a pretentious performance that crashes into itself and shatters the film's narrative into something maladroit and unworthy of watching" ( some stupid critic about my acting; they don't know true talent or art. like at all. the movie's already a cult classic here so whatever ig )
oh, tinseltown. you pretend to be as glamorous as the age of beatniks & true cinema, but hollywood really is dead ..!
you've reached the post-script; i'd love to go on-&-on, but sleepiness strikes 💤
a reblog wouldn't hurt, eh? ( please )
ok. i'm done
ta-ta, happy shifting !!

BACKSTORY:
I was born in Lyon as the eldest of triplets, the children of British traveller and writer Robert Allard and French model and photographer Élisabeth Tessier.
Less than a year after we were born our father was offered the chance to host a travel programme called The Strider for the BBC. Together with our mother they decided to take me and my siblings on those journeys.
Since then, we have spent more time on the road than in our home in France. Together, we have explored Australia and Northern Europe, both Americas, and a good part of Africa.
Despite the unusual conditions, our parents took great care of our education and development. I had private tuitions, practised ballet and singing, learned to play a few instruments. During those travels, I aslo learnt about the culture and traditions of the countries we visited and learnt a couple of languages.
We have settled in the USA for a few years where my siblings and I finished high school. It was then that I met my best friends to this day; Judy and Kayleigh. I later got into Harvard, where I studied psychology and linguistics.
I got my first role - Gertie in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial - at the age of six; I went to the audition out of curiosity. Later I also played the young Alia Atreides in Dune, but I didn't tie my future to acting. My love for it was born in the high school drama club. My return in front of the cameras was the 1990 film Millie, but it was with the role of Lex Murphy in Jurassic Park, which I got at the age of seventeen, that I was truly noticed. Other productions followed and with them came increasing success and popularity.
At the beginning of the university, I began to take interest in music - my first album, The Woman Who Love Too Much, was released in 1994 and it quickly became clear that I was as talented an actress as I was a singer.
At age of twenty I move alone to cottage house near Zurich.

⋆.˚𖦹⋆✮⋆.˚ 90’s Fame Reality INTRODUCTION
Tumblr media
The year is 1992
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⋆˙⟡ Who Am I? — Brief Introduction
Hey everyone, I'm Taylor, a 21 year old actress. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. My acting career began at age 12 and I've been doing it ever since.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⋆˙⟡ My Career So Far — The Journey
I got my first break in an indie movie in 1985, playing a small role in "Wildflower Summer". It wasn't much, but it got me noticed, and I met my two best friends (Rain and River) in the entire world on that set. After that I continued to work on various projects, mostly tween and teen dramas, comedy, and horror. I became very known in that space (especially for the movie "Sunflower Fields"). While I did well in the teen space, I feel like I really got my big break in the 1991 show "The Hollows". It was my first big role in my newly emerging adult career.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⋆˙⟡ My Style — Fashion & Aesthetics
I love oversized flannel shirts, combat boots, and ripped jeans—that’s my go-to. I’m not much for dresses unless it’s an award show, but even then, I keep it real.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⋆˙⟡ Behind the Scenes — Life Beyond Acting
When I’m not acting I like to spend as much time with my family and friends as possible. You can usually catch me hanging with my friends Rain and River at their family home, Jamin’ to music. Reading is also my favorite pastime so I do that a lot too. My twin sister, Blair, has a band (“The Wild Types”) so I attend their shows (along with River and Rain’s band “Aleka’s Attic”)
Tumblr media
⋆˙⟡ Current Projects — What's On My Plate Right Now?
Right now I’m on a little break but I’ll be filming “The Hollows” season 2 soon.
Thanks for reading! Feel free to ask me any questions about this!

Srry another question:
Do you have an s/o, if so who is it?
its all good lollll (this isnt as pretty bc i havent scripted much of this lmaoo)
From September 1993-March 1994 I dated Elise (because I love can't-tell-if-this-love-is-romantic-or-platonic tropes), but turns out we're just friends (which DEFINITELY adds onto the tension I was talking about last post).
She's really the only one that I fully scripted that I'm partners with, but I've scripted simple dates (April 1994-July 1994, October 1994-March 1996) but I've considered scrapping them to make it a complete surprise for what happens.. idk

Help! I Just Got Identified As An Absolute Creepo Rip-Off Artist!
The Bad Advisor deals with a lot of Wrong Shit; it's pretty much what I do here! Bad Advice trades in People being Wrong, and doing Wrong Stuff. But the most consistently Wrong-est thing that the Bad Advisor has dealt with on this blog lo these 11 (!) years of Bad Advice is the wholly incorrect perception that Neil Gaiman is its author.
I used to find this flattering, even charming, because Neil's fans (among which I counted myself since I started reading the Sandman series in the late 90s) incorrectly perceived his reposts as evidence that this blog was his work, not mine.
This blog is not now, and has never been, the work of Neil Gaiman.
It feels weird to spell it out, but also necessary. Occasionally I have responded to some posters who thought I was Gaiman (there truly have been too many over the years to respond to all of them). But Neil never did so, even in comments on his reposts that praised him for being the Bad Advisor, which he surely knew he was not.
Backstory: the Bad Advisor posted her first Bad Advice almost exactly 11 years ago today. In ensuing years, Bad Advice Nation has been a space of camaraderie and education and mutual support. The Bad Advisor herself (me, Andrea, the person writing this post) has generally shied away from affirmative self-identification; it was more interesting, I thought, to let the Bad Advisor exist as an idea rather than as an individual, even as Bad Advice existed elsewhere (RIP The Establishment) and was in some places attributed to my government name.
One of the first champions of Bad Advice, and arguably the reason Bad Advice originally went viral and garnered the audience it has, is because the sci-fi/fantasy author Neil Gaiman often reposted the blog. I was, initially and at length, flattered and enthused by Neil Gaiman's attention, because I was a near life-long fan of his creations, and thought that his affinity for my writing signaled something important about my talent and creative capacity.
Years ago, because Gaiman knew I was the Bad Advisor, Gaiman even invited me to meet him -- and then failed to deliver on that invite. I wrote it off at the time as a bummer but inevitable experience with fame.
I now suspect I dodged a bullet, knowing what we know about Neil Gaiman's predatory behavior toward women younger than him.
I posted a Bluesky Thread about this whole shebang, and the tl;dr is that it now seems obvious to me that Gaiman would never have even thought to correct posters who attributed my work to him, or credit me my for Bad Advice work, even when he knew people wrongly perceived him as being the Bad Advisor.
Neil Gaiman does not appreciate, celebrate, or lift up women's writing and intellectual work, despite his ill-earned reputation as a feminist man. If you love Sandman, as I once did, the Bad Advisor implores you to avail yourself of the work of Tanith Lee, who Gaiman never credited as inspiration for the story.
It's hard to have heroes. Some of them will fail us, inevitably. We are all broken, fallible people who will fuck up now and again. Some harms are beyond repair, while some harms bring us closer to each other as we persevere through them, together.
But we do not need to entertain fuckery.
Do not entertain fuckery.
Signed, The Bad Advisor (Andrea Grimes, not Neil Gaiman)

♯ MOVIE IDEAS TO SCRIPT IN YOUR FAME DR .ᐟ
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
જ⁀➴ MOVIE #1 : “CHERRYBOMB”
Genre: Psychological Thriller | Erotic Horror | Neo-Noir
1986. Los Angeles. Sylvie, a struggling actress with a picture-perfect smile and a mind unraveling at the seams, lives a life of duality—playing the obedient girl-next-door by day and slipping into a reckless world of drugs, excess, and secret violence by night. She isn’t just drawn to danger; she is danger.
For years, she’s kept it controlled. But when she meets Vince, a detective investigating a string of gruesome, almost ritualistic murders, she can’t resist playing with him. A game begins: cryptic phone calls, bloodstained clues, seduction laced with manipulation. She wants to see how close she can bring him to the truth before he realizes he’s already lost.
But Vince is playing his own game. He knows something she doesn’t.
And when the truth about Sylvie comes out, it won’t just be her mask that shatters.
Cinematography: Neon-drenched and feverish, with a soundtrack that mixes synthwave and haunting jazz. Think Thief (1981) meets Basic Instinct (1992) with a razor-sharp edge.
જ⁀➴ MOVIE #2 : “GUTTERFLOWERS”
Genre: Coming-of-Age | Crime | Dark Comedy
Milo never planned on joining a gang. He just needed somewhere to crash after his mom’s latest boyfriend kicked him out. What he found instead was The Gutterflowers—a group of ragtag teens who think they’re a feared street gang but are actually a bunch of pussies. They get into fights they can’t win, pull scams that always backfire, and spend more time bickering than committing crimes.
But when they accidentally rob the wrong person—a mid-level crime boss with a serious temper—they have 48 hours to come up with $50,000 or end up in a ditch.
With no skills, no weapons, and no clue what they’re doing, The Gutterflowers come up with a plan so reckless it just might work. They’re either about to become legends—or absolute laughingstocks.
Cinematography: Chaotic and gritty, shot in handheld style with a mix of neon and grime. Think Good Time (2017) meets Attack the Block (2011) but with even more attitude.
જ⁀➴ MOVIE #3 : “TANGERINE WISHES”
Genre: Soft Romance | Psychological Drama
Late 1990s. A small town where nothing happens. Hana has always felt like she’s watching life from behind glass, too trapped inside her own head to truly connect with anyone. People call her cold, distant, too intense. She doesn’t blame them.
Then, Rika arrives. Loud, unpredictable, and impossible to ignore. The kind of girl who turns every moment into a movie scene. The two form a strange, intense bond—pushing and pulling, orbiting each other like planets on the verge of collision.
Hana doesn’t know if she wants Rika or wants to be her. All she knows is that Rika makes life feel real. But the closer they get, the more Hana’s self-destructive tendencies threaten to swallow them both whole.
Because love is never simple. Especially when you don’t even know who you are.
Cinematography: Sun-soaked and intimate, with dreamy visuals and a grainy, nostalgic 90s feel. Think All About Lily Chou-Chou (2001) meets Call Me by Your Name (2017) but with a sharper, more psychological edge.
જ⁀➴ MOVIE #4 : “NIGHTHAWK”
Genre: Dystopian Thriller | Survival Horror
In a city where the rich live in towering, glass palaces and the poor fight for scraps in the streets below, one thing is certain—once you fall, you never climb back up.
But Rowan isn’t like the others. She was born on the top level, raised in privilege—until she was betrayed and left to die in the slums. Now, she’s nothing. Another ghost in the underbelly.
Until she hears about The Hunt.
A bloodsport for the wealthy, where “players” are dropped into a lawless zone and must either kill or be killed. The last person standing wins a ticket back to the top. No one has ever won. No one ever will.
Unless Rowan does something no one expects.
She starts hunting the ones who put her there.
Cinematography: Cold, cyberpunk-inspired visuals mixed with brutal, handheld action. Think Children of Men (2006) meets The Raid (2011) with a sharp, modern edge.
જ⁀➴ MOVIE #5 : “LADY VIPER”
Genre: Psychological Thriller | Action | Neo-Noir
Celeste is a high-profile lawyer known for never losing a case. Cold, ruthless, and calculating, she’s made a career defending the worst of the worst—corporate criminals, arms dealers, even murderers. But behind her steel facade is a woman who’s just as dangerous as the people she protects.
Years ago, Celeste committed a crime so perfect that no one ever suspected her. But when an anonymous blackmailer threatens to expose her, she finds herself in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
The rules? Simple. She has to destroy three lives before sunrise—or her own life is over.
As the night spirals out of control, Celeste is forced to confront who she really is: a victim of circumstance or a monster who’s just been waiting for the right moment to strike?
Cinematography: Sleek, high-contrast visuals with deep blues and reds. Think Gone Girl (2014) meets John Wick (2014) with a Hitchcockian twist.
જ⁀➴ MOVIE #5 : “SUGARCRASH”
Genre: Comedy | Crime | Coming-of-Age
Luca and Evie are two broke college dropouts who make a living pulling small-time scams—fake sob stories, identity theft, and the occasional staged accident. But when they accidentally con a retired hitman, they find themselves in the worst situation possible:
He doesn’t want revenge. He wants in.
What starts as a simple hustle turns into a full-blown criminal operation, with the old hitman teaching them the tricks of the trade. Fraud. Extortion. Blackmail. The money is good. The lifestyle is intoxicating. But when they get too ambitious and rip off the wrong people, things take a turn for the deadly.
The problem? They don’t know how to back out. And their new mentor? He’s not about to let them quit.
Cinematography: Vibrant, fast-paced, and kinetic, like Good Time (2017) meets The Nice Guys (2016) with a touch of Spring Breakers (2012).
જ⁀➴ MOVIE #6 : “RED IN THE WATER”
Genre: Psychological Horror | Survival Thriller
A luxury yacht party. Beautiful people, expensive champagne, a perfect summer night. Until, one by one, the guests start disappearing.
Nina wakes up to find herself stranded on the yacht with a handful of survivors. The radio is dead. The captain is missing. And something is in the water—something that shouldn’t exist.
As paranoia sets in and the survivors turn on each other, Nina starts to suspect that the true horror isn’t in the ocean.
It’s already on the boat.
Cinematography: Claustrophobic, eerie, and dreamlike. Think The Lighthouse (2019) meets Triangle (2009) with a surreal horror edge.
જ⁀➴ MOVIE #7 : “SAINT MIDNIGHT”
Genre: Supernatural Noir | Mystery | Crime
In a city where the rich buy their way into immortality and the poor sell their souls just to survive, Detective Gabriel Cross is one of the last honest men left. He’s seen it all—vampires running drug rings, demons running brothels, ghosts haunting old apartment buildings.
But when a string of bodies turns up with no supernatural explanation, Gabriel realizes he’s dealing with something even worse:
A human.
As he digs deeper, he finds himself caught in a web of conspiracies, cults, and secrets that threaten to unravel everything. Because in a city where the supernatural rule, the deadliest thing might just be a man with nothing to lose.
Cinematography: Dark, moody, and neon-lit, like Blade Runner (1982) meets Sin City (2005) with a heavy noir influence.
જ⁀➴ MOVIE #8 : "GLASSHEART"
Genre: Soft Romance | Psychological Drama | 90s Aesthetic
1998. A small town suffocating under summer heat. Emery, a girl who’s never felt like she belonged, spends her days wandering abandoned parking lots and listening to mixtapes in her bedroom. She doesn’t speak much. People say she’s cold. Unreachable.
Then she meets Juno. Reckless, magnetic, and completely uninterested in playing by the rules. Juno drags Emery into a whirlwind of midnight drives, stolen cigarettes, and whispered confessions under flickering streetlights.
But the closer they get, the more Emery realizes that something inside Juno is breaking.
And she doesn’t know if she can save her.
Or if Juno even wants to be saved.
Cinematography: Sun-drenched but melancholic, like The Virgin Suicides (1999) meets All the Bright Places (2020) with a nostalgic indie-rock soundtrack.
જ⁀➴ MOVIE #8 : “DEATHSTATION”
Genre: Sci-Fi Horror | Action | Thriller
A deep-space mining station. A distress signal. A crew that answers the call.
But when they arrive, the station is empty. No bodies. No blood. Just voices on the intercom—whispering, begging, screaming.
Then the first crew member vanishes.
Then another.
The remaining survivors must unravel the truth before they disappear one by one. Because whatever happened here isn’t done yet.
And something is watching them.
Cinematography: Cold, sterile, and unnerving. Think Alien (1979) meets Event Horizon (1997) with an eerie, slow-burn tension.

A warning for trauma survivors looking for online support
You may have come across the acronym "RAMCOA", which stands for "ritual abuse, mind control, and organized abuse."
If you search the Internet for RAMCOA, you might come across a result like this:
Tumblr media
If you click the link, you'll be taken to a site that briefly describes what RAMCOA supposedly is, with content like:
MC - Mind Control. A shortened form of TBMC, standing for Torture Based Mind Control. MC is also known as programming, where victims are repeatedly tortured starting at a very young age to intentionally cause a system of dissociated parts that function perfectly to suit the abusers' needs.
alpha : a base program, one of the very first implemented. it trains the victim's mind to accept every order given by handlers willingly. parts with alpha programming will often have no will of their own, and very little personality outside of following orders.
aiw : alice in wonderland. typically split into 3 different sections : black alice, white alice, and crazy alice. ideally, a system scripted with aiw would have all three. white alice makes sure the system forgets the trauma, black alice makes the system feel like theyll be a danger to others if they remember the trauma, and crazy alice makes the system think theyre making it up or going insane if they ever remember it.
Literally all of this comes from a conspiracy theory - specifically, the Project Monarch alter programming conspiracy. It was developed and pushed by far right conspiracy theorists. Most of what people run into specifically traces back to Fritz Springmeier, a man who claimed in the 90's that the fight for gay rights was part of a plot to enthrone the antichrist in the year 2000. The Project Monarch conspiracy theory was always adjacent to the Satanic Panic, if not a somewhat niche part of it. If you start checking citations, you will find many of these people citing Svali, a conspiracy theorist who gets a lot of her material from Springmeier. (Example 1, example 2.)
This is no accident. The term RAMCOA was created by the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), which was created by and for psychologists who believed in the myths promoted during the Satanic Panic.
The RA part comes from "satanic ritual abuse," which was coined by Dr. Lawrence Pazder of Michelle Remembers (cw for descriptions of horrible abuses) fame. Lawrence Pazder is the man who effectively started the Satanic Panic. It cannot be overstated that Pazder, now a known malpractitioner, was considered the expert on ritual abuse during this time.
The MC part comes from "trauma-based mind control," which was coined to refer to the alleged abuses inflicted in Project Monarch. Parts of this conspiracy theory that can't be traced back to Fritz Springmeier can usually be traced back to Cathy O'Brien and Mark Phillips, two other (really racist) conspiracy theorists.
Ultimately, the entire conspiracy theory is constructed from tropes that go back to The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion (a known antisemitic hoax), blood libel, and early modern witch panic.
Searching the Internet for RAMCOA resources, ritual abuse, or trauma-based mind control will always bring you to conspiracy theorists.
(Also, the term OEA, which stands for "organized extreme abuse," will lead you to conspiracy theorists as well.)
So yeah, if you're looking for support, be very wary of this stuff. It will absolutely not help you heal; just the opposite.
