We’re not getting a Buddie airport goodbye and I have many thoughts about why this is a good thing. Eddie driving to El Paso instead of flying feels less permanent than Buck driving him to the airport like he did with Abby. He’s driving away from Los Angeles, and Buck, but he could just as easily turn around and drive back with Christopher in tow. We get the dramatic U-Haul goodbye in the rain and Buck crashing out, and then we get the Eddie being in El Paso impermanently. We’ll get him and Chris driving home, coming home to Buck.

I am so so excited to hear josh's take on the bucktommy relationship. moreso can you imagine being josh russo? you have these fun incidental hangouts with your work bff's hot brother who you know as Straight. he's jocular he's fun and friendly and your bff makes jokes about setting you up but untimely he is a Heterosexual. Then one day he comes through saloon doors swinging BAM adonis of a man as his boyfriend. no slight anecdotes from Maddie about him making out with a guy at a bar nothing just BAM. hot pilot boyfriend. who is as broad as he is tall. and he is now pounding your bff's brother into the mattress. and now suddenly ur bff's brother is coming into your job break room to discuss their relationship. so now obviously you are forced to imagine Evan Buckley and his concrete shipment of a man in intimate positions while also taking in whatever emotional maelstrom buck has whirled up. and you who has lamented about the state of gay LA dating ... and has lived life entirely as a gay man ... and has more than a few extremely traumatic experiences ... just to look at your newly-out bff's brother and be like. YEAH! LET IT OUT MAN!

I think sometimes people forget that Buck is a grown man who has ended relationships in the past when he felt uncomfortable (Taylor when she betrayed his trust and Natalia when she was more focused on his experience with death and not on him as a person). If he felt uncomfortable with the way his and Tommy’s relationship was going he would speak up or end it.

Anyone who believes that Buddie going canon is going to include either of those two men becoming smooth and confidently romantic around each other two seconds in is kidding themselves. Because they’re weird about each other. Like, they’re actually just obsessed with each other every time they’re given a moment to breathe outside of their incredibly traumatic lives. Buck’s not going to know what to do with somebody who loves as wholly as Eddie does, who sees all of him and loves him anyway. Eddie’s not gonna know how to be in a relationship with someone he wants constantly, and who sees through all of his fronts. They’re going to be painfully awkward and maybe even pining while actually dating.

They’re best friends, which might typically mean a smooth and gradual transition of being together, but neither of them do anything by halves. Somebody is going to confess to the other before they’ve fully processed how in love they are or something, and then we’re going to be in trouble. Because they’re weird about each other, they’re impulsive, they’re dorky and Eddie’s only recently begun to accept that he can be that way, and they’re so deeply awkward when people actually love and see them. The start of their relationship is going to be such an embarrassing mess, I truly believe this. But it’s all going to be worth it because it’s embarrassing because they won’t know what to do with all of the love they’re getting from the other, but they’ll figure it out. Together.

everything happening all at once in buck‘s perception. the noise from the workers, all the times gerard has discredited and humiliated him in the past replaying over and over in his head portrayed by the voices overlapping in the voiceover. the way the camera slowly zooming in on his face visualizes everything becoming too much and the anger and overwhelm spreading into every nerve in his body. the close up shot of gerard meant to show how deeply his constant digs are affecting buck and that it‘s bubbling to the surface now. the slow motion insinuating that everything starts to feel like molasses to him. the voice of eddie poking through in his thoughts because he‘s trying to anchor himself on it. then the change in noises made by the workers that have been adding to his overstimulation ripping him out of his stuck-in-the-overwhelm position and alerting him something is happening. that. that was such a beautiful portrayal of overstimulation and a meltdown or overwhelmed outburst building up that i can‘t even put into words how much i wanna have a word with tim minear about it
