eddie and his sisters only talk like 3 times a year (birthdays thanksgiving and christmas) and they all think there's nothing they can do to reconcile because eddie was sonsband to his mom and brother/father to his sisters and the people he always gravitates towards are his tía and his abuela.. how can you see your brother as someone on your side when he raised you and fought with your parents to their faces while you placated and still somehow was closer to the adults in the family than he was to you.......

Eddie, was having a usual hangout with Buck the night before. When Buck tried to head out because he has an early date with Tommy, Eddie suggested Buck just spend the night since his place is closer anyways (objectively not true, Buck will be late). After they went to bed, Eddie stared at his wall for an hour trying not to vomit because any day now Buck will stop handing out this kind of yes so freely. Eventually he will be living in Tommy's pocket not Eddie's, sharing beers and random documentaries on Tommy's couch on a frequent basis. He can't even expect to see him puttering around to help out with Chris because Chris is 13 years old and in fucking Texas, he already calls Buck more than he texts Eddie right now. So now Out and Proud fucking Tommy gets the beers, movies, nights in, nights out, Buck's bed head, Buck's breakfast pancakes- at 5 AM Eddie wakes up in a cold sweat, buzzing out of his skin. He heads towards the backdoor because it's further from the couch and he watches the living room for movement. He prays to god Buck doesn't wake up. On his way out he grabs the door and slams it closed hard enough that the neighbor's dog starts to bark: Ok. We can stop by that bakery you like on the way back.
