getting up at 4:30 to catch the 5:50 train to get into the city at 7:30 to then catch a 30 min bus ride to get to my uni area at 8 to then walk abt 15-20 mins to get to the main campus to be at class on time for my 9 am class

my mom: the dog has a grooming appointment at 4.

me, who has a class at 4:30 and has to rely on my mom for transportation: oh, okay, you can head over and drop her off and then drive back here and take me over to the university, and then head back there in time for her appointment to end.

my mom: but they said the appointment would take only ten minutes

me: ....they say that every time. and every time it's been 30 minutes at least. every time. you cannot rely on what the estimated time will be. listen to me. listen to me. drive back here immediately after you drop her off, I'll be ready to go. do not sit and wait in the dog groomer's parking lot.

anyways. one guess as to what the fuck she did and who was late for class.

#i was 17 MINUTES late to class. i had to catch up on the BRAND NEW CONCEPT that was introduced in those minutes #i was ready to go at 4:05. i sat there by the door until she drove back in at *4:37*#and now IM being called unreasonable for being angry about it???#i got home to find she put up a note saying ''im not responsible for getting you to class on time''#and ''im not responsible for getting you there if you aren't ready''#YOU ARE. YOU ARE MY ONE SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION.#THE BUSES DO NOT COME BY AT THE RIGHT TIMES UNLESS I WANTED TO LEAVE TWO HOURS EARLY.#IT WOULD TAKE ME 50 MINUTES TO WALK THERE AND IT'S -21 RIGHT NOW.#THIS WAS LITERALLY THE SIMPLEST THING.#I TOLD YOU EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEEDED TO DO. I recently made this playlist that is full of songs that make feel like a magical boy/slice of life protagonist. I’ve been listening to it a lot lately lol, I’ve just been needing pick-me-up music.

I still have two hours until class (ough) so I’m going to try to speedrun my way through hiragana and katakana, then see if I can do any kanji. I figure since I get to campus so early, I might as well.

We’ll see what happens today. I’m feeling kind of tender for reasons outside of my control www. I’m trying to just push through today so I can get to my bed as fast as possible.

Also, I ordered a clover bracelet! It should be arriving sometime this week, so I’m really excited to show it off! It’ll be nice to have that reminder always with me, y’know?

Now that we're 2 weeks into January I can report that taking two 10 ECT courses in the same month is not an experience I can recommend

#everyone who knows im doing two januarblokk classes in what legends will refer to as Twenty Credit January #is treating me like a bomb thats about to go off #for reference i have class from 8:30-3:30 and then im doing coursework for the other class from 3:30-4:30 #then 4:30 to 7:30 i have my language class im not even getting credits for #home by idk. 8:30? then more coursework until i pass out #girl i feel bad!! i feel not fresh!!

telling the psychiatrist who gets me my adhd medication that i dont have abnormal anxiety except now im pulling another anxiety-driven all nighter because every time i close my eyes i feel slightly like im going to die from thoughts

#ive been up since 5 am mountain time #i got trapped in a car for 4 hours. then i got out went through denver airport. got on a 3 hour flight. got to the next airport #and the next flight has been delayed so fucking long and might be cancelled idk we'll see #and in that time ive had like a single class of water. half a cup of coffee #and one meal #it is 7:30 pm #i was planning on being home by now so i could have fun socializing with everybody tomorrow and/or sleep a fuck ton to make up for this #somebody fuckinf help me im gonna turn into the joker #ok vent over thanks everyone for listeninf love u #original

#im movies georg my poll answers should not have been counted #in all seriousness. i go to 3-4 3 hour screenings per week for class #and have a quarterly pass to the student screening society (weekend watches babey) that I see a couple times a week #so i'm averaging a little under 1 a day with the caveat that frequently they are back to back multiple a day and then sometimes days off #last quarter I had a wednesday screening block from 3:30 PM to 10:30 PM so I'd just watch 7 hours of movies every wednesday #basically this is institutionally enforced movie watching is what i'm saying otherwise i would be Really Not Doing This At This Speed

guys all the restraunts on campus are closed on weekends and the cafeteria doesnt open until 11 im gonna have to malnourishedly crawl there

#why would they design it like this... i have morning classes all week i dont fucking get up at 11 #i thought that the on campus restaurants would surely take advantage of the fact the cafeteria is only open like 4 hours on the weekend #but no!!! they are all closed at the same time as the caf!!! we dont even get our db cards yet #i frew up last night so i didnt eat dinner.. drempt that my family had donuts... realized im not at homr.. woke up and #now i have to wait 2 more hours i woke up at 7:30 guys im not gonna make it

It's so annoying just how right my dad can be, while still being incredibly wrong. Because, when talking about how he has to scan a QR code to petition the school to not have her classes end up as audits because she's missed x amount of days, he brought up how her grades were good in all of her classes. And we both agree that the QR thing is stupid when they don't also give a web address to do it on!(Not to mention that he got this paper today, the last day to do this). And he made a comment about how schools are just teaching us how to pass tests, how to be cogs in a machine. And he's right.

Like don't get me wrong, there are quite a few things that schools do well. But, for highschool, you have like 8 classes a day, with only one early release say where you then have like, 4. Not to mention homework, oh but if you want to do extracurriculars like soccer you have to have at least C's and no more than 6 tardies/absences that aren't excused by a doctor's note. Even though for a good half of the year you have to wake up before dawn to get to school on time(not mentioning 0 hour classes). And the other half the year you're waking up right as sunrise is starting. Which is kind of how it works at a lot of jobs.

And like, dad's right about that.

But he's also voting for a lot of the people who are the reason behind this.

He mentioned how they're taking history out of schools, and he's right, but he's voting for the people doing it.

And it's so fucking disheartening, because he can see what's wrong, he knows fundamentally what's wrong. But he doesn't seem to realize who is doing it.

And I'm not sure what to do about it either. Because he gets so irrationally angry and defensive of the people he's voting for, and I live with him because I don't have any other options. So sitting down with him and talking just isn't an option right now.
