getting up at 4:30 to catch the 5:50 train to get into the city at 7:30 to then catch a 30 min bus ride to get to my uni area at 8 to then walk abt 15-20 mins to get to the main campus to be at class on time for my 9 am class

I recently made this playlist that is full of songs that make feel like a magical boy/slice of life protagonist. I’ve been listening to it a lot lately lol, I’ve just been needing pick-me-up music.
I still have two hours until class (ough) so I’m going to try to speedrun my way through hiragana and katakana, then see if I can do any kanji. I figure since I get to campus so early, I might as well.
We’ll see what happens today. I’m feeling kind of tender for reasons outside of my control www. I’m trying to just push through today so I can get to my bed as fast as possible.
Also, I ordered a clover bracelet! It should be arriving sometime this week, so I’m really excited to show it off! It’ll be nice to have that reminder always with me, y’know?

#im movies georg my poll answers should not have been counted#in all seriousness. i go to 3-4 3 hour screenings per week for class#and have a quarterly pass to the student screening society (weekend watches babey) that I see a couple times a week#so i'm averaging a little under 1 a day with the caveat that frequently they are back to back multiple a day and then sometimes days off#last quarter I had a wednesday screening block from 3:30 PM to 10:30 PM so I'd just watch 7 hours of movies every wednesday#basically this is institutionally enforced movie watching is what i'm saying otherwise i would be Really Not Doing This At This Speed

It's so annoying just how right my dad can be, while still being incredibly wrong. Because, when talking about how he has to scan a QR code to petition the school to not have her classes end up as audits because she's missed x amount of days, he brought up how her grades were good in all of her classes. And we both agree that the QR thing is stupid when they don't also give a web address to do it on!(Not to mention that he got this paper today, the last day to do this). And he made a comment about how schools are just teaching us how to pass tests, how to be cogs in a machine. And he's right.
Like don't get me wrong, there are quite a few things that schools do well. But, for highschool, you have like 8 classes a day, with only one early release say where you then have like, 4. Not to mention homework, oh but if you want to do extracurriculars like soccer you have to have at least C's and no more than 6 tardies/absences that aren't excused by a doctor's note. Even though for a good half of the year you have to wake up before dawn to get to school on time(not mentioning 0 hour classes). And the other half the year you're waking up right as sunrise is starting. Which is kind of how it works at a lot of jobs.
And like, dad's right about that.
But he's also voting for a lot of the people who are the reason behind this.
He mentioned how they're taking history out of schools, and he's right, but he's voting for the people doing it.
And it's so fucking disheartening, because he can see what's wrong, he knows fundamentally what's wrong. But he doesn't seem to realize who is doing it.
And I'm not sure what to do about it either. Because he gets so irrationally angry and defensive of the people he's voting for, and I live with him because I don't have any other options. So sitting down with him and talking just isn't an option right now.

Actually I think we should let high schoolers have school sanctioned snack time
#I think as a high schooler my opinion matters a lot actually#why do I have to sit through 4 hours of school to eat a single thing of nachos and some strawberries#only to have to sit through another 3 hours of school plus the hour I have between actually getting out of school and getting home#not to mention I wake up at like 7:30 in the morning and by the time I get to school I have no time for school breakfast#so add another like hour on for that#and there’s the time where I’m asleep for however many hours so add that on there#idk man I just don’t think it’s good to deprive growing children of proper food for that long#anyways. school system is ass#fuck teachers who don’t let you snack in class I hate those bitches#also also why the hell are there 15 million different food places right outside the school if we’re not even allowed off campus for lunch#we literally refer to one side of the school by the name of the restaurant that is literally right next to the school on that side#vent#school vent

Tfw you get your work timetable and immediately yell “why have they DONE this to me”
#they seem to think i will be staying til 9:30pm on a thursday. no i will not#like first of all i don’t have a car and there’s no trains after 7:30 because i live in buttfuck nowhere#and second that is absolutely balls to the walls insane. like you have got to be kidding me#and third it’s a COLLEGE. who’s even THERE until 9:30???#mind you i’m a TA on the life skills course (so for SEN students). they leave at like 4 at the latest#i still understand giving me a 9 to 5 because admin time and all that; but 12:30-9:30 is absolute madness#i feel like this timetable was created by someone who doesn’t like me or doesn’t understand human behaviour. like this has to be a mistake#it has to be a sick joke#i know they run SOME classes until 9 (and i’m talking rarely. like.
