If you hate Skyrail you're a moron. You've never been a Commuter. Carrum station is one of the most beautiful in the whole network. You have all these other concrete bunker ass stations in the ditch under the road, bentleigh, armadale, cheltenham, which are all bare minimum concrete walls, piping, the only colour coming from the aluminium wall panelling that stops you trying to boulder on the spray on concrete walls. You're open to the sky except where the intersecting road passes overhead. There's no phone reception coz you in a ditch. And THEN you ascend into the sky. You arrive at Carrum. Up in the sky, this station is bare minimum in that there are no walls, only a roof to shelter you from the rain and the sun and you look out over the houses to the bay. The few walls that hold up the roof have maps and try their best not to interrupt the view are a warm sandy colour. The sea always beautiful no matter the weather. Peace grows in your heart when you arrive at Carrum Station, jewel of the Frankston line.

Amin al-Husseini docu: part 8
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Last
Translator's notes:
-> Erwin Rommel was the commander of the Nazi forces in North Africa. They landed in Tunisia and were moving eastward, towards the Land of Israel. Rommel was stoppsed at the Second El-Alamein battle, in November 1942.
-> Walter Rauff was appointed as, among other things, the head of a unit called Einsatzgruppe Egypt (similarly named to the Einsatzgruppen in Europe, the "death squads" in charge of exterminating the Eastern European Jews, and which according to the latest research shot to death at least 2.5 million Jewish men, women and children in the shooting pits there). Einsatzgruppe Egypt was stationed in Athens, awaiting deployment in the Land of Israel once it would be occupied by Rommel's forces. The unit of 24 men was supposed to instruct the local Arabs, recruited by the Mufti, in how to exterminate Jews in gas chambers that were to be built in the Dotan Valley.
-> Prof. Yossi ben-Artzi is actually presented by the docu as "researched Operation Atlas," but I can't in good conscience write that, when he was actually researching The Templers. They are a German radical sect, which was established in 1861, and aspired to form the "perfect Christian society" to speed up the return of Jesus, which could also be helped by colonizing Israel. They began to do so around the end of the 1860's. This sect views Jews as denied salvation, since they didn't accept Jesus. At the peak of the Templers' colonization in Israel, they had somewhere between 900 to 1,200 adults, with a total community size of around 2,000 members living here. In the 1930's, they greatly identified with the Nazis, and at least 300 adult Templers were also officially members of the Nazi party. They even had local chapters of the Nazi party and the Hitler Jugend (Hitler youth) at their colonies in Israel. By 1934, there were reports of the Templers spreading Nazi ideology to local Arabs in Israel. Templer men were drafted into the Nazi army (the Wehrmacht) on Aug 20, 1939. Some of them left for Germany with their families, altogether 550 people. The British expelled most of those remaining to Australia. The few left were expelled in 1948, following Israel's Independence War. Israel paid the sect reparations for the property they had to leave behind (most of which was confiscated by the British). Today, there are still about 1,300 Templers living in Australia (with a center in Melbourne) and 700 in Germany. Their main center there is in Stuttgart, where they have their own conference hall, archive and monthly newspaper.
(in the pic: The Fast Hotel in Jerusalem, displaying several country flags along with the Nazi one in 1933)
Tumblr media
-> Operation Atlas included 5 parachutists. The three German ones were Kurt Wieland, who headed a local Hitler Jugend chapter and left in 1936 for Germany to join the Nazi army, Friedrich Deininger, who helped the Arabs during the 1936-1939 Arab revolt (in which many Jews and Brits were targeted in Israel) and was incarcerated for this by the British, but he managed to escape to Germany, and Werner Frank, who had joined the Hitler Jugend in 1934 already. The two Arabs were Abdul Latif, who had participated in the Arab revolt, was expelled for it by the Brits to Iraq, but ended up becoming one of the Mufti's assistants in Berlin, and Hasan Salama, one of the leaders of the Arab revolt (during which he also killed many Arabs and gained from stolen property), after which he fled to Lebanon, then Syria, where he joined the Mufti on his way to Iraq, and finally to Germany. Salama became one of the Arab leaders during Israel's Independence War, and in fact he led the attack on bus 2904 from Netanya to Jerusalem, which is the anti-Jewish attack that started the war on Nov 30, 1947.
Tumblr media
-> The participants of Operation Atlas parachuted east of Jericho on Oct 6, 1944. Some of their gold coins got the local Arabs talking, leading the British police to them. By Oct 11, even the Jewish press in Israel published the info on the strangers who had parachuted there. On Oct 15, the Brits captured Wieland, Frank and Latif. On Oct 16, they formally published this info. A few days later, they called off the search for the remaining two men. Deininger was captured in 1946, when he tried to contact his family, and Salama, who oversaw the start of Israel's Independence War, was eventually killed in a battle not too far from Rosh Ha'Ayin, the area where the springs the operation is said to have targeted are, and the same zone that Salama himself was from.
-> Decades after the war, Professor ben-Artzi, out of admiration for some of the Templers' colonialist accomplishments in Israel, lived with them in Stuttgart to gain their trust and study them. He was told by one man, who had returned from Australia, that the (then undisputed) story of Operation Atlas' goal being to poison Tel Aviv's water is untrue. According to ben-Artzi, 7 years later the man confessed to be the Nazi Waffen SS soldier Werner Frank, and it's his testimony that the professor is mostly basing his assessment of Operation Atlas on.
-> I'll offer my POV on Operation Atlas, but it's obviously just my personal opinion. I do think Frank had motivation to deny his complicity in what would have been a mass murder, for his own sake and that of his sect. I also don't know why his testimony should be seen as any more reliable than that of so many other Nazi criminals, who after the end of WWII, denied some of the facts or their own motivation. I do believe the substance the parachutists were carrying was poison. Other than Professor ben-Artzi, no historian disputes this, they mainly argue what the poison was for. Beyond the fact that black pepper is a much easier way to throw dogs off, poison specifically is a really dumb idea for that task, because it's bound to leave a trail of dead dogs that would lead back to the parachutists. And of course, the Mufti was a raging genocidal antisemite, obsessed with making sure that even Jews outside of Israel would be exterminated, so why in the world would he be so involved, and even emotionally invested (calling the parachutists his sons) if the operation was not targeting Jews specifically?

Disappearance Of Michele Brown
On March 1, 1992, Michele spent the day celebrating her 25th birthday with friends in Melbourne's southeast. After a day of festivities, she walked with a friend to a phone booth at a Food Plus store. During the call, she reportedly asked her mother to pick her up from the Frankston railway station within the hour. After hanging up the phone, her friend said goodbye to Michele. Between 7:00 and 7:15 PM, Michele also left. That call was the last time that her family ever spoke to her and it remains unclear if she ever made it to the railway station that day.
Shortly after 8:00 PM that evening, Michele's mother arrived at the station. However, she could not find her daughter. It was unusual for Michele not to follow through with arrangements, so she decided to drive around and see if she could find her. After an unsuccessful search, she returned home. As days, and then weeks passed, she started developing a heightened sense of concern surrounding her daughter's whereabouts.
"I never heard from her during the week which was unusual. The second week I started to get a bit worried and thought it didn't feel right," she stated. On March 13, Michele's parents went to the local police station to report her missing.
The next day, March 14, a staff member who worked at Miall's Gun Shop discovered her body in an old shed at the edge of the premises. The building, which was about 400m away from the station, was surrounded by blackberry bushes. As the investigation continued, law enforcement officials determined that she had been murdered by an unknown person or persons. They also noted that she had been there for quite some time as her body was in a state of severe decomposition.
When speaking to those within the surrounding areas, officers began to develop a clearer picture of what had taken place thanks to a range of eyewitness statements. A resident who lived near the station reported hearing two separate screams around 9:00 PM on the evening of March 1.
Additionally, a taxi driver stated that they had seen a woman matching Michele's description near the phone booths at the Frankston railway station between 8:00 and 9:00 PM.
Despite the first-hand accounts, police were unable to name a suspect or provide a concrete timeline of what happened to Michele that night. As a result, the case went cold. After three decades, officials continue to seek answers about what took place during those important hours. Now, a $1 million reward has been offered by Victoria police for information that could lead to the apprehension and conviction of the person or people responsible for the crime.
Officials are interested in speaking to anyone who saw a woman matching her description at the Frankston railway station between 8:00 and 9:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 1992. Additionally, they are asking anyone who saw suspicious or unusual activity in that area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or leave a confidential report on www.crimestoppers.com.au.

Whitlams? Whitlams!
Interesting venue. Kind of kitsch in a fun way. Food was very overpriced for what it was (the vegan version of the falafel burger was… a falafel patty smeared in hommus and wrapped in lettuce) and my disabled ass did not realise it was a standing venue only, so the barstool I had dragged in to the back of the room meant that while I could at least sit, I couldn't see shit.
Eh. I've seen them a bunch, and it's the sound that's the most important part <3
Early stuff featured Scott Owen from The Living End on the double bass. Gotta have the double bass for stuff from the first two albums, y'know? Setlist as below, there was a lot of singing along in general, but will mark with an asterisk for the ones that were genuinely singalong territory because that was just fun:
Gough *
End Of Your World
Where Is She?
Met My Match
1995
Winter Lovin'
The Ballad Of Lester Walker
Following My Own Tracks *
I Make Hamburgers * ("MORE SAUCE!")
No Aphrodisiac *
Fall For You (introduced with, "Let's do something from this century!")
In The Last Life
Charlie No. 2 * (singalong here was very sweet, I think Tim toned down his own mic to showcase the audience a bit more? Like it was almost the audience singing it with Tim accompanying)
Melbourne *
Charlie No. 3
Royal In The Afternoon *
I Will Not Go Quietly *
Laugh In Their Faces
Blow Up The Pokies
Up Against The Wall (an interesting note on the passage of time - when it came out in 1997, it had the lyric, "She was one in a million / so there's five more just in New South Wales." There are now eight million people in NSW!)
I Get High (with Jak performing Stevie's parts)
Happy Days
You Sound Like Louis Burdett * (extremely enthusiastic!! Definitely not alone in this being my favourite!)
Then, for the encore:
You Don't Even Know My Name
I'm Different
Thank You *
Album count: Introducing (6), Undeniably (7), Eternal Nightcap (7), Love This City (2), Torch The Moon (3), none from Little Cloud, Sancho (1). So very heavily from the first three albums, aside from Thank You and Blow Up The Pokies, Fall For You, I Will Not Go Quietly, and Royal in the Afternoon, and In The Last Life.
Actually quite amusing looking at the different crowd demographics when you consider my last concert, which was… Måneskin. To be expected when one band has an average age of about 23 and the other has an average age of about 57, haha. I'm an oldie when it comes to Måneskin fans, but a lot of the crowd tonight were more like… youngish boomers, older millennials, but pretty solidly gen Xers who were teens and young adults for when those first three albums came out between 1993 and 1997. (The Måneskin members weren't even born yet!) I got into them a bit after the Love This City release when I was 13, so I was actually on the younger side.
There was a dude there wearing a black velvet shirt, bright blue corduroy flares, and a white belt. Fab outfit tbh.
Got a tour shirt. Expensive but it has my favourite lyrics from my favourite song on it (from Louis Burdett - "Banana chairs out on the concrete / telling stories to the stars"), and also they've been one of my favourite bands for... shit, coming up on twenty-five years now, and I still don't have any merch. I kinda had to.
So, really good, aside from the overpriced food and the whole 'can't see shit' part!

It’s like my only option in life is to be rich
I can’t afford a maid
Dishwasher atm is fine
I’ll buy heaps of pans and plates and just stack the dishwasher until it’s full to wash
Won’t touch a plate in my life
Unless I have to
Not every day though
Maid can do that eventually
Just a ridiculous existence
How can I even relate to anyone at all
My experiences are so fucking skewed and left of centre I can’t even explain to a counseller how I feel
You know
I can’t wash the dishes or use a shower
Oh wtf
Yeah I don’t eat anything from any restaurant
Like people ask me
How do you live
I don’t even know
The only way through is to be rich
Then I can afford 50,000 to casually hook up my whole house to bore water
And to cancel my students cause I don’t teach them
They attend my school of music
And I just fly anywhere the fuck I want just doing podcasts
And being openly gay
And making content
If I was rich
I could have a studio
Where I record music
Have green screens
Have a room for props
I wouldn’t have to have my bedroom full of equipment
I could actually make it a bedroom to film scenes in that I don’t have to rearrange every time I film
How the fuck is anyone supposed to relate to me as a genuine connection
Jordan or Adam
Short of casual sex
It’s a miracle anyone can be attracted to me given how fucked up everything is
If I was rich
I could install bore water across my whole house inside a faraday house cage
And then I could shower like everyone else
And wash my hands without fear
Like I need to be rich enough to hire a maid before my parents die
Like how the fuck
I can’t even washes dishes without my fingers falling off
How pathetic
I can put the dishes in the dishwasher
But the pan
I need to be able to wash the pan without touching the soap
It’s just ridiculous
Too hard basket
Just buy 7 pans haha
And hire a cleaner for an hour for 1 hour a week to fucking do everything
Idk everything is just a massive head fuck
Philippines
It’s all there
Permanent maid
Showers
Bore Water
Maybe when I’m rich I’ll just fly Adam to the Phillipines where he can’t escape my love island
But by then I’ll be rich enough to have it in my house in Melbourne
Even the fucking heater is a headfuck
Elaine likes it on
I want it off
But I don’t want to live alone
So what
Solution: have an illusion gas fireplace where the heat isn’t dry? Can there even be a humid heat
Just fucking have a jet engine humidifier going so the whole house feels like it’s on the equator
Move to Queensland
Lose all my contacts here
Crown Maria
They don’t even know im gay
Such a fucking headache
Idk how many millions id have to spend to make it all work eventually
I definitely think my fingers are so bad because of the heater and dish washing
It’s just drying them out so much
Idk what to do
Even a counseller would be like
Idk bro
Doctors and counsellers are all useless haha
It’s too specific
A problem
Bore water
Use boiling water to wash the pan
Only use soap at the end once already clean
Use a long sponge with a handle so there’s no contact
I’m like a fucking retard boy in the bubble
I may as well should sleep in glass oxygen like MJ
My life’s a literal punch line to a joke
Gay retard with everything falling apart from skin to life
And the only thing holding him together is his intj Bruce Wayne brain
If not, he’d most likely be dead
Like dazelle
How many years will it take
Fucking 5?
Until I push this shit up hill
I need to just spend every day behind a computer editing
I promise to never get a normal job
Even that masters of teaching position I’ll fuck off
But idk
Maybe I’ll want to teach down the track
Vcass sounds so fun to teach at idk
Not a luxury life though
How is it
Out of all the people that I’ve seen in my life
Only you, Jasmine,
Seem to stay
And that’s it out of everyone
Everyone
Is it really that hard to stay in contact with people
Xavier, Belle, Tim smith my vocal coach, Benjamin Martin, it’s like, people come and go like the wind. There’s barely any constants but yourself. Life is a horrible tragic experience if you just look around
That song glimpses is so true
It’s only the glimpses of happiness among the oceans of bullshit that make it worth it remotely
Otherwise he “would kill my self today”
Amen
To that
Is the only way people can stay close to me is if they had a romantic sexual attraction to me initially
I wonder
Is there anyone platonic who stayed with me
Xavier
I don’t trust
Is there anyone?
lol
I sound like I’m having a full scale mental break Down again but I’m just venting
“If I have peace, let it last beyond the day”
I want to write a song like that
It’s my favourite song
I come back to it every few months
Him post Malone and Reagan beam haha
I haven’t read a book in so long cause I fear I don’t have time to escape anymore
I’m like those are the things you can do in old age when no one no longer cares for your looks
You know all this is selfish in a way
Cause I talk to you
Cause I feel like my story is so complex the counseller won’t have time in an hour to understand wtf is going on so it’s a waste of time unless I just present one problem to him
But I don’t even know what problem to present first. At least you know everything.
I just feel shithouse for so long now. And now ever since a few weeks back I feel even more shithouse haha
At least I’ve found peace making content with Jasmine laughing there
I love those moments in transit between places where you’re forced to waste time
Like on a plane or on a train
It’s like those long trips
Even to my gigs
Are my breath of fresh air where there’s a few hours up my sleeve I can afford to waste time and I can relax.
It’s like when I’m at home, I’m just sprinting as fast as I can every second, and it’s like I’ve hit a wall and I’m so exhausted. And everything is burning up at the same time, like how can I feel so attracted to boys and also afraid at the same time. wtf is going on
Maybe its only half gay
Maybe the other half is spiritual and intellectual height, which makes you feel lonely among everyone else
Why I can only seem to keep you and jasmine

Week 9: Gaming & More
I am not an avid gamer, but it definitely took me by surprise that gaming is now more than just sitting around and playing a bunch of games on your computer. Every year, the Victorian government hosts Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW). MIGW is a bookended event in which diverse range of video games related activities take place. It is an affair where Australian developers and international publishers present upcoming games to the public (Keogh, 2021, p.210).
When talking about the history of gaming, it all started in 1940, when Dr. Edward Uhler Codon first presented game machine at the New York World’s Fair. The game was based on ancient mathematical game Nim and was played by around 50,000 people during the first six months it was on display. From physical board and arcade games to fast forward to today’s modern age of gaming i.e online games. Online games have become a major part in people’s lives specially gamers. According to ESA Computer and Video Games industry report of 2015 revealed that at least 1.5 billion people who have internet access play video games (Chikhani, 2015).
I never heard of an app called Twitch until now, Twitch is an online broadcast platform dedicated to gaming, entertainment, sports and music. As per Twitch 2017 report, the site gathered 2.2 million unique broadcasters per month along with 1,10,000 content producers that even earn revenue from their streams, moreover, the site has more than 10 million daily active users. Not just Twitch, but gamers can also broadcast their live streams on Facebook and YouTube (Taylor, 2018, p.4-5).
Unarguably, gaming has developed significantly in the past few decades, but there are still some stereotypes attached to gaming which can impact the gaming community. People have this false perception of gamers that they are teenagers or young adults, socially awkward or loners, lazy and spend all their time on playing games with no future goals. According to a LifeCourse online survey conducted in the US, gamers lead more social life than the non-gamers, gamers are more goal oriented and they are also optimistic (The New Face of Gamers, 2014). Another belief that gaming is meant for men only. According to a study done by the Entertainment Software Association in 2014 revealed that 52% of men and 48% of women play video games making an almost equal participation and investment by men and women (Lavandier, 2016).
When I say I’m not fond of gaming that does not mean I’ve never played games as a kid. I did enjoy games like Candy Crush Saga, Super Mario and Subway Surf (not to mention half of the population have played those games because these are so common and popular). While I was doing research for this post, I was really fascinated to see how the gaming has evolved and became an important part in today’s culture. Also, debunking a couple of stereotypes about gamers.

Week 9
Reading 1 - The Melbourne indie game scene:
This week's reading looked at the Melbourne gaming scene, in particular the Melbourne International Games Week. Melbourne International Games Week is a festival where "a heterogeneous range of videogame-related events are held by different parties for different stake- holders with different values" (Keogh, 2021 pg. 209).
Keogh then goes on to talk about Melbourne's gaming scene, which he describes as "independent" or "indie", made up of lots of small or independent developers. Keogh also goes on to talk how it is not only the gaming industry which has made the shift from large production companies to more independent ones and goes on to talk about how the film industry has evolved in the same way.
Another festival held in Melbourne, is the Independent Games Festival which started in 2004. The Independent Games Festival is different to Melbourne International Games Week because as the name suggests, it only invites independent developers. This festival is the oldest games festival in Australia and could possibly be the oldest in the world.
The reason Melbourne has become such an independent game scene is because "the possibility and opportunities to create and share videogames works far outweighed the opportunities to obtain employment in the videogame industry" (Keogh, 2021 pg. 215). Although the Melbourne gaming scene is mostly made up of local game creators, there are also lots of people who come from an international background who have come over to take advantage of the indie scene and create games that they are passionate about. They do this as the resources or culture of the country may not allow them to make games so freely back home.
Video games are made in a variety of different ways, in a variety of different forms. Although they may all be different, they all make-up an important part of Melbourne's culture.
Reading 2 - Watch Me Play:
As the name suggests, this reading focuses on Twitch and the increase in popularity that it and the live streaming of games has received recently.
The reading starts off with an anecdote about the first time that Taylor came across live-streaming. She could not believe the extent of this competition, with a well-know location, a variety of camera angles and live chat capabilities. She was also impressed by the engagement it was getting with at least "2,000" in the crowd and many' many people watching and interacting with each other online as well.
Although the story above is still true for a lot of streaming, it is now no longer the sole case. Taylor talks about the ease of being able to stream and how accessible it is for anyone to start doing it. She states that "you no longer need to download a game replay file, track down a video on demand (VOD) on YouTube and a niche site, or constantly search out tournament results after the event" because Twitch does all of this for you and more. With the rise and ease of Twitch, people can no stream from anywhere with whatever console that they are playing on.
This relates to the first reading as a lot of independent developers have used game streaming to get their games noticed. Developers can either send their game to well-known streamers or play the games on their own streams to show their audiences what they have been working on. As Twitch is a global platform accessed by millions of people worldwide, it is much easier for these small indie developers to get noticed and for their games to become popular.
The game streaming community will continue to grow exponentially as the technology becomes more accessible and easier to operate. This will help the gaming community become closer-knit and more diverse as gamers and their audiences can learn about new games all while interacting with each other.

COVID Vaccine Mandates Strongly Opposed in Europe, US as Failures Increase Analysis by
Barbara Loe Fisher
August 10, 2021
Since coronavirus pandemic lockdowns were implemented by many governments in 2020, people around the world have held largely peaceful protests against unprecedented social distancing restrictions that are devastating global economies and ruining people's lives.1,2,3,4
Now, faced with being ordered to obey new laws that require them to be injected with COVID-19 vaccines in order to enter public spaces or hold a job, on July 24, 2021 — World Freedom Day — hundreds of thousands of people of all ages took to the streets in Australia, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Greece and Germany to publicly challenge oppressive public health laws.5,6
The messages on the signs they held were diverse but they were united in pushing back against government overreach.
The brave determination of people, in democracies around the world who are publicly defending civil liberties — freedom of thought, speech, conscience and assembly — and the human right to informed consent to medical risk taking, demonstrates that the spirit of freedom lives in the hearts and minds of people everywhere. Both those who gather in the public squares of cities big and small and those who are watching are inspired by this commitment to defending liberty.
In the United States, no large demonstrations have been held yet, but polls reveal the nation is sharply divided about COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
A Politico/Harvard poll taken in late June 2021 found that Americans were evenly split on whether children should be required to get the COVID-19 vaccine to go to school and more than half of employed Americans are against COVID-19 vaccine requirements for holding a job, while almost 70 percent of Americans oppose being required to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination to enter a store or business.7
A recent CS Mott Children's Hospital poll found that more than half of parents in the U.S. with children between the ages of three and 11 say it is unlikely they will give their children the COVID-19 vaccine.8
Australia: 'The lockdown Is Killing Us, Not COVID'
With a population of 25 million people, Australians have been subjected to repeated strict lockdowns over the past 18 months and the government's "stay at home" lockdown in early July 2021 was imposed on New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, where more than half the country's population lives. The 30-day rigid social distancing restrictions were enacted after 176 new daily infections were registered in the whole country.9
In response, thousands of Australians gathered in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on July 24 to protest the lockdown.
Social distancing restrictions that have been imposed include compulsory masking in all indoor non-personal residence settings; most schools closed; restrictions on how far people can travel from their homes; no going to work except for designated "essential" employees (who must be tested every three days); exercising and gathering outside only in groups of two; shopping only for essential items; attendance at funerals limited to 10 people but weddings are banned, and other limits on person-to-person social interaction.
In what the U.K. newspaper Daily Mail described as "frenzied crowds" coming together on July 24, there were estimates that as many as 10,000 protesters marched from Victoria Park to Town Hall in the central business district.
Carrying signs calling for "freedom" and "the truth" and "I don't consent" and "Wake up Australia!" and "We are your employers, we are not your slaves" and "unmasked, untested, unvaxxed, unafraid" and "I am not a biohazard" and "Our kids are not your guinea pigs" and "No false tests, no false cases, no lockdowns," one protester said, "We don't give a f*** mate, this lockdown is killing us." Another agreed: "I'm against lockdowns, they're killing my business."
Dozens of protesters climbed onto the roofs of a train station and Woolworths store as the crowd gathered around Town Hall singing the Australian national anthem. One observer said on social media, "Protest stretches right down Broadway! Absolutely massive turnout."
The Sydney protest was mostly peaceful but when mounted police told the demonstrators to disperse or they would be pepper sprayed, some broke through a police barrier and threw plastic bottles and plants at officers. The New South Wales Police Minister confirmed 57 people were arrested and charged and a "strike force has been established to investigate who was in attendance."10
On July 28, the Australian Prime Minister called in military personnel to help enforce social distancing restrictions in Sydney and extended the lockdown for another month after 239 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the city of five million people within a 24-hour period. Residents will be forced to wear a mask outside their homes and must stay within 3 miles of their homes, only going out for "essential" activities like food shopping.11
On July 30, the Australian government used helicopters and the Army to help police enforce its 'Zero Covid' lockdown in Sydney and issue $500 fines for failure to mask.12 The BBC reported that Australian Defense Force soldiers will begin conducting unarmed patrols of the streets this week.13
According to media reports, sirens could be heard throughout the city and helicopters blared messages that 'this is public health order — do not break rules — you will be found and fined.'
Road blocks were set up in a military show of force in response to the public demonstrations earlier in the week, although soldiers are under police command. Starting this week, military personnel will accompany police going door to door to ensure that people who have tested positive for COVID-19 are isolating.14
Reuters reports that the Australian COVID-19 vaccination rate for adults stands at 18 percent and the Prime Minister has said 80 percent of adults must get vaccinated before the border, which has been sealed since the pandemic began, will be re-opened.15
Britain: 'No Forced Testing, No Forced Vaccines'
In May 2021, a 12 mile procession of tens of thousands of people ended at Parliament Square in a protest against continuing lockdowns and vaccine passports as a condition of accessing public venues.16
On July 19, the British government lifted the COVID-19 lockdown that had been in place for over a year, eliminating masking requirements, work from home, and limits on numbers of people who can gather together, which allowed for the full opening of restaurants and other public venues without social distancing restrictions.17
Just five days after the lockdown restrictions were lifted, thousands of people made their way to Trafalgar Square on July 24 to signal their opposition to potential future lockdowns, as well as to protest against the showing of COVID-19 vaccine passports as a condition of entering public spaces.18
There were banners draped in front of the speaker podium saying, "the public demands live debate" and "Science is not science without discussion" and demonstrators held signs that said "No forced testing, no forced vaccines" and "We are the lions in a world of sheep" and "If you tolerate this, your children will be next."19
Toward the end of the July 24 demonstration, the huge gathering in Trafalgar Square in unison sang, "You'll Never Walk Alone:"
When you walk through a storm Hold your head up high, And don't be afraid of the dark. At the end of a storm is a golden sky And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind, Walk on through the rain, Though your dreams be tossed and blown. Walk on, Walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone, You'll never walk alone.
The United Kingdom, which has a population of 57 million, ranks in the top 20 most COVID vaccinated nations, with an adult vaccination rate of over 57 percent.20
France: 'My Body Is Mine' and 'It Is My Choice'
Paris, France and the cities of Marseille, Montpelier, Nantes and Toulouse saw tens of thousands of people take to the streets on World Freedom Day to protest against a proposed law that would require all health care workers to get COVID-19 vaccinations or lose their jobs.
People will be barred from entering restaurants or other public venues, effectively preventing them from participating in public life unless they have a health pass showing proof of COVID-19 vaccination, recovery from the disease or a recent negative COVID-19 test.
A care assistant at a Strasbourg nursing home expressed her disgust with the proposed law, saying it is "the blackmail of caregivers who were at the fronts line during the first wave and who are now threatened with "no more pay" and even being fired."21
A huge crowd of 160,000 people or more, many chanting "freedom, freedom" and carrying signs saying "stop the dictatorship" and "Big Pharma shackles freedom" and "no to the pass of shame" and "vaccines: fake freedom" and "don't touch our children" were met by police deploying tear gas and a water cannon used against some of them.22
Reuters reported that scuffles broke out at the Champs-Elysees and the Gare Saint-Lazare railway station.23 The demonstrators met at the Bastille plaza and marched through eastern Paris and also gathered at Place Trocadero near the Eiffel Tower to protest the required carrying of a "health pass."24
Just two days after witnessing several hundred thousand people voicing their opposition to the proposed new public health law, on July 26, the French Parliament voted to pass the law that will take effect this week.25,26
Five days later, on July 31, several hundred thousand French citizens of all ages again flooded into the streets of Paris with signs saying "We are not guinea pigs" and "It is our choice" and "My body is mine" and "Health terror — I will not submit" and "the 4th wave is us" in opposition to the new COVID-19 vaccine and vaccine passport.27
According to media reports, four marches dovetailed into the Place de la Bastille, with health care workers in white coats leading some of them, and were met by waiting squads of gendarmes and CRS riot police with water cannons. Demonstrators also gathered at the Arc de Triomphe at the top of the Champs-Elysees and at the Villiers metro station in northwest Paris.
Reportedly, about 150 other protest events also took place in cities around France, which has a population of about 67 million and an estimated COVID vaccination rate of about 47.5 percent28 or more.
Italy: 'Enough Dictatorship: No Green Passes'
Thousands of people gathered in Rome, Genova, Milan, Naples, Turin and scores of other cities in Italy on July 24 to voice their opposition to the government's imposition of social distancing and COVID-19 vaccine requirements on citizens, including a requirement to carry the "Green Pass," which is an extension of the European Union's digital COVID certificate.29
The Green Pass will be required to enter cinemas, museums, indoor swimming pools, sports stadiums or eat indoors at restaurants, proving that a person has been vaccinated, has had a recent negative COVID-19 test or has recovered from the coronavirus infection.30
Chanting and carrying signs that said "Freedom" and "No Green Pass" and "Down with the dictatorship" and "Better to die free than live like slaves" and "against vaccination obligations" and "government does terrorism" and "shame-shame,"31,32 reportedly about 80 cities in Italy saw demonstrations on World Freedom Day.
These included an estimated nine thousand people in Milan, who marched in procession to the Piazza Duomo, the Galleria Vittoria Emanuele and to the Piazza Scala in front of the Town Hall. One banner said "Big Pharma out of the state. No to multinationals."
About five thousand people gathered in Piazza Castello in Turin with signs that said "We want to have the freedom to choose – the freedom to go wherever we want without being tied to a sheet."
In Rome, where there have been anti-lockdown demonstrations over the past year to protest then closure of cafes, bars and restaurants,33 an estimated two thousand demonstrated and the police intervened to disperse the crowd with armored vehicles.34 Italy has a population of about 60 million people, with nearly 52 percent vaccinated for COVID-19.35
Greece: 'Hands Off Our Children'
Thousands of people gathered in Omonia Square in the center of Athens on July 24 to express their opposition to the government's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. They carried signs saying "No mandatory vaccinations" and "No blackmail to dismiss" and "No separation of Greeks" and "hands off our children."
The leader of the anti-COVID vaccine movement in Greece, cardiologist Faidon Vovolis, MD addressed the huge crowd, which, according to Athens News, included "not only anti-vaccination activists, but also food and tourism entrepreneurs, clergy, citizens disaffected by the overall government leadership over the pandemic, and vaccinated citizens who view recent government measures as anti-democractic."36
Greek police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse the demonstrators, who had rallied outside the Parliament building to protest COVID-19 vaccine requirements for workers, such as health care workers. Reuters said that about 45 percent of Greece's 11 million population is already vaccinated.37
Germany: 'For Peace, Freedom, Truth'
Berlin has been the site of several large demonstrations against lockdowns and COVID vaccine passports over the past year.38 On Aug. 1, 2021, tens of thousands of citizens marched in the streets of Berlin to protest lockdowns that have restricted dining indoors at restaurants or staying in a hotel and requirements to provide proof of COVID vaccination, defying a ban by German lower and upper administrative courts on public demonstrations.39
Berlin's administrative court had refused to authorize 13 demonstrations, some of which had been organized by the Querdenker (Lateral thinker) anti-lockdown movement.40
Berlin's police department deployed more than 2,000 officers armed with batons, pepper spray and water cannon as the crowds made their way from Berlin's Charlottenburg neighborhood, past the Tiergarten park and on to the Brandenberg Gate.
Reportedly, police in heavily armed vans dragged protesters across roads and into the vans with marchers shouting for freedom and the lifting of mandatory masking and travel bans. Protesters continued to march in the evening through the city streets and 600 people were arrested.41 Germany has a population of 83 million and 52 percent have been fully vaccinated.42
Human Rights Watch: COVID-19 Triggers Wave of Free Speech Abuse
On Feb. 11, 2021, Human Rights Watch published a report called for an end to excessive restrictions on free speech and peaceful demonstration where people are criticizing COVID-19 lockdowns, mandatory masking and other social distancing regulations that restrict civil liberties. The human rights organization said:43
"At least 83 governments worldwide have used the Covid-19 pandemic to justify violating the exercise of free speech and peaceful assembly … Authorities have attacked, detained, prosecuted, and in some cases killed critics, broken up peaceful protests, closed media outlets, and enacted vague laws criminalizing speech that they claim threatens public health.
The victims include journalists, activists, healthcare workers, political opposition groups, and others who have criticized government responses to the coronavirus … Governments and other state authorities should immediately end excessive restrictions on free speech in the name of preventing the spread of Covid-19."
Decentralized Government in US Makes a National COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate More Difficult
Unlike centralized governments in Europe and many other parts of the world, the founders of the United States of America ensured in the U.S. Constitution that this country would operate with lawmaking power shared between national, state and local governments.44
The fact that lawmaking power in the U.S. does not solely reside with the federal government, which is composed of the legislative (U.S. Congress), Executive (President/federal agencies) and Judicial (federal courts) branches, so far has protected the U.S. population from being subjected to the same kinds of uniform lockdown restrictions and now, the same kinds of COVID-19 vaccine mandates that are being implemented in European Union countries and other nations with centralized federal governments.
Since most public health laws in the U.S. fall under the legal jurisdiction of states, if a resident does not like the lockdown, masking, social distancing or COVID-19 vaccine mandates in the state they are living in, they simply can move to a different state that does not have the same kind of oppressive public health laws.
This is one reason why, although there have been smaller anti-lockdown and anti-COVID-19 vaccine mandate demonstrations in the U.S. over the past 15 months, some of them protesting COVID-19 vaccine requirements for health care workers,45 so far there have not been massive national demonstrations in the U.S. like those taking place in Europe and other parts of the world.
U.S. Government Pushes for an 85 Percent COVID-19 Vaccination Rate
As of July 28, about 60 percent of the U.S. population of 332 million people age 12 and older had received at least one dose of COVID vaccine and reportedly 50 percent, or about 165 million Americans, are "fully" vaccinated.46 As the third largest country in the world, the U.S. has a high COVID-19 vaccination rate compared to other countries, with only 25 countries recording a higher vaccination rate than the U.S.47
According to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center, the country with the largest population in the world at 1.5 billion people — China — has a 16 percent COVID vaccination rate; the country with the second largest population in the world at 1.4 billion people — India — has a 7.4 percent COVID vaccination rate; and Russia, with a population of 146 million people, has a 17 COVID vaccination rate.48
However, U.S. government officials are pushing for an 85 percent COVID vaccination rate in the U.S.,49 even as a former FDA commissioner says that a combination of natural acquired immunity and vaccine acquired immunity is likely rapidly achieving an 85 percent herd immunity rate with the Delta variant in the U.S. population.50
Half to Two-Thirds of Americans Oppose Punitive COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates as Companies Begin to Mandate
Even though polls show that one-half to two-thirds of Americans oppose COVID-19 vaccine mandates, depending upon the setting,51 on July 29, the President announced that all federal workers and contractors must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or mask and social distance at all times and get constantly tested.52
The federal government also is urging corporations, local and state government agencies, medical facilities and other institutions to make vaccination a condition of employment.
Some companies, like Google, Facebook, Morgan Stanley, Ascension Health, The Washington Post, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lyft and Uber, Walmart and Disney have already mandated employees to get COVID-19 shots to continuing working for the companies.53,54 On July 30, Broadway theaters announced that all members of the audience will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and must keep a mask on at all times except when eating or drinking.55
Opposition Grows as CDC Admits Fully Vaccinated Persons Can Get and Efficiently Transmit COVID-19
After lifting national masking recommendations for COVID vaccinated persons in May 2021 with the assurance that the vaccine was effective in preventing symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection,56 on July 27, CDC officials abruptly reversed course and said that Americans, whether vaccinated or not, should wear a mask indoors outside their homes in certain places.57,58
They said they based that policy change on new information that the COVID-19 vaccines do not reliably prevent infection and transmission of the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 and that the viral load in vaccinated persons who get infected is as high as the viral load in unvaccinated persons who get infected.59,60
CDC officials said the new federal indoor masking policy especially applies to adults in "high risk" areas where there are more people being infected with the Delta variant. The masking directive also applies to all unvaccinated children over age two, as well as vaccinated children over age 12 attending school, and additionally includes all teachers, school staff and visitors to schools whether vaccinated or not.61
Reuters reported on July 24 that vaccinated people made up 75 percent of recent COVID-19 cases identified in Singapore, but vaccinated cases were associated with mild symptoms:
"Of Singapore's 1,096 locally transmitted infections in the last 28 days, 484 or about 44 percent were in fully vaccinated people, while 30 percent were partially vaccinated and just over 25 percent were unvaccinated."62
The percentage ratio of infected vaccinated to infected unvaccinated persons in Singapore matches that of a recent SARS-CoV-2 outbreak in Massachusetts. On July 30, Associated Press reported that information in CDC documents revealed that 75 percent of the Provincetown outbreak occurred among fully vaccinated individuals.
About 80 percent of them experienced COVID-19 symptoms, with the most common being cough, headache, sore throat, muscle aches and fever.63
U.S. States Push Back Against COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates
Over the past year, Americans have been taking action at the state and local level to block COVID-19 vaccine mandates. A number of states have passed laws that restrict COVID-19 vaccine mandates and "vaccine passports" that bar people from entering public spaces.
Among the states that have passed laws prohibiting COVID-19 vaccine passports or COVID-19 vaccine mandates in some way are Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.64,65,66
On July 29, the Governor of Texas signed an executive order prohibiting state government agencies from mandating COVID-19 vaccine being distributed under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) and banning public or private entities that receive state funds from denying entry to those who are not vaccinated and, additionally, banning companies, state and local agencies — including school districts — from requiring mask wearing.
He said that Texans, "have the individual right and responsibility to decide for themselves and their children whether they will wear masks, open their businesses, and engage in leisure activities."67
Governors of several other states also have issued executive orders prohibiting COVID-19 vaccine mandates and some local and state governments have prohibited mask mandates.68,69 But some city and state governments, like New York City and California, have created legal requirements that force state employees to get vaccinated as a condition of keeping their jobs.70
On July 26, the nation's largest healthcare worker union, United Healthcare Workers, demonstrated in New York City against employee COVID-19 vaccine mandates.71 So far, the COVID-19 vaccine mandate as a condition of employment is also opposed by the American Postal Workers Union,72 Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, and United Auto Workers.73
It's Up to You to Act Now
With military soldiers patrolling the streets in Sydney, Australia and police with water cannons and tear gas facing tens of thousands of people protesting against vaccine passports and COVID-19 vaccine mandates in the streets of London, Paris, Rome, Athens and many other cities in Europe, there should be no doubt where the enforcement of mandatory vaccination policies are headed in the U.S. if Americans fail to proactively take action now.
There is no question that we are dealing with a global assault on civil liberties and human rights when public discussion and debate about government policy is censored74,75 and peaceful dissent is considered a crime. Public health laws that respect civil liberties and the informed consent ethic can only be secured if the lawmakers we elect value civil liberties and defend informed consent rights. Become fully informed about who you are voting for and never miss an opportunity to vote.
I and the supporters of the non-profit charity the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) have worked since 1982 to prevent vaccine injuries and deaths through public education. We have publicly defended the ethical principle of informed consent to medical risk taking and other human rights that include freedom of thought, speech and conscience.
In 2010, we launched the NVIC Advocacy Portal, a free online communications and advocacy network to empower Americans to work in their own communities to secure informed consent protections in public health laws.
Now more than ever, it is time to get to know your local, county and state elected representatives – from your school board members and county supervisors to your local sheriff and lawmakers – who represent you in your local and state governments. Establish a personal relationship with those who make laws that govern you and your family.
Have a conversation with them now about why you believe it is important to protect civil liberties and vaccine informed consent rights in public health laws. Provide them with well referenced vaccine information from NVIC.org and register and join with thousands of others in your state working to protect the legal right to make a voluntary vaccination decision by becoming a user of the NVIC Advocacy Portal at NVICAdvocacy.org.
Actively participate in the democratic process that has defined who we are as a Constitutional Republic since the US Constitution was ratified in 1788. Be the one who never has to say you did not do today what you could have done to change tomorrow.

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” – Matt. 24
“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” – 2 Cor. 11:4
Founded in 1991 in China by Zhao Weishan, who later moved to the U.S. from where he continues to lead the cult. They believe Jesus was God’s first incarnation, but that He did not complete His work; therefore, God needed to come again to finish the work, this time as a woman – that woman is a 40- something Chinese woman named Yang Xiangbin, also sometimes known as Lightning Feng.
On the surface it looks like normal Christianity, but when you get more involved they introduce the idea that Yang being ‘Almighty God.’ The Church of Almighty God, which is also known as Eastern Lightening, boasts a slick website in both Chinese and English, professionally produced videos. They encourage recruits to abandon their family to part of their cult.
The cult entices people with money or gifts, but will turn to violence or even murder if a person accepts their gifts but fails to join. Satan hates true Christians who have the everlasting Gospel as they are the ones who pose a threat to his kingdom. Interestingly, the cult prefers to target true Christians that are in house churches rather than fringe or heretical groups. Beware of false Christs. The Bible reads when the real Jesus Christ returns the whole world will know (Revelation 1:7)
STRUGGLE WITH THE GREAT RED DRAGON
Also known as Eastern Lightning (“Dongfang Shandian”), the group preaches that Christ has been reincarnated as a woman from central China, and that the righteous are engaged in an apocalyptic struggle against China’s Communist Party — which they refer to as the “great red dragon.”
Linked to kidnappings, violence and extortion, the group has been listed among 14 banned religious groups by China’s Ministry of Public Security since 1995. -[This is available online, You can go some deep research] Emily Dunn, an Asian studies academic at the University of Melbourne who wrote her doctoral thesis on the group, said its illegal status had made it paranoid and secretive, with members often only knowing each other by aliases, so they could not incriminate each other if detained by authorities.
“It’s about as illegal and politically sensitive as religion gets in China,” she said. “As the government has cracked down more, Eastern Lightning’s rhetoric has escalated against the government.”
China’s Academy of Social Sciences says there are now 23 million Christians in the country. But with many belonging to non-sanctioned, underground “house churches,” experts believe the true number of Chinese Christians could be much higher.
Eastern Lightning, part of a tradition of heterodox, quasi-Christian religious movements in China, was estimated as having between several hundred thousand and one million members, said Dunn. It was viewed by Beijing as the most serious threat to public stability of any of the Christian-affiliated movements that have been growing rapidly as China undergoes a religious revival, she said.
“There have been reports of murders and beatings at the hands of the group, but also at a more general level, very aggressive proselytizing, harassment, brainwashing,” said Dunn. “Those accusations are very routine.”
The group believes that the Bible is out-of-date and that those who limit God’s revelation to just the Bible are like the Pharisees who held on to the Old Testament and rejected Christ.
Followers are told to give up the truth of the past and build their foundation on the Holy Spirit’s word for today: the writings of the “female Christ,” which are “God’s new word.”
The cult has published numerous books, including The Word Becomes Flesh and The Lightning Comes from the East, and distributed hundreds of thousands of copies in China. Two of the books that are distributed among Chinese churches in America are titled The Holy Spirit Speaks to All the Churches and God’s Work through His Secret Appearing. The content in these books is nearly identical. Much of it is written in first person, as if by their “female Christ,” and is terse and threatening. [This topic is available online, You can go some deep research] The “female Christ” states that Jesus was God’s first incarnation, but that He did not complete His work; therefore, God needed to come again to finish the work, this time as a woman. This “appearing” ends the previous age and begins a new age in God’s six-thousand-year plan to save all humanity. God’s plan, she says, has three ages (creation, salvation, and destruction) and three dispensations (law, redemption, and kingdom). She claims that she comes for the kingdom dispensation and therefore her work is judgment.
Her books are filled with explicit and horrific pronouncements of damnation and judgment on unbelievers. The only sin is not to accept her as the Christ, she says, and salvation is possible only by following her. She states that “God is inhumanly cruel” and she admits that she hates humankind.
She teaches that Christ died for our sins, but denies that He rose again physically. She ardently opposes the concept of the second coming of Jesus and tells followers not to wait for a “white cloud descension.”
The “female Christ” doesn’t prove her divinity to potential believers by healing the sick, casting out demons, or performing miracles; instead, she uses threats and intimidation to persuade converts. She says that she will punish or slay those who repudiate her, and even their family members will meet with misfortune. Another of the cult’s Web sites (www.godword.org) lists 887 cases in which people allegedly died of sickness, accident, or unknown causes after rejecting the cult’s evangelistic efforts.
The cult demands complete obedience and sacrifice. Adherents must turn their material possessions over to the organization and follow orders, otherwise they will be punished. They are urged to leave their families, to live in a commune, and to spread the message of the “female Christ.” The cult is known for its deceptive evangelization practices. An article in Tianfeng, the magazine of the Chinese government–controlled Three Self Patriotic Church, says the cult entices people with money or gifts, but will turn to violence or even murder if a person accepts their gifts but fails to join.
A report from China for Jesus describes four stages of strategy that the cult has used. The first stage was simply to send books and money to Christian preachers. In the second stage they adopted aggressive tactics, including violence and coercion. In the third stage they used sexual temptation and entrapment as a means of blackmailing prospects.
The fourth stage is called “spying and paving the way,” the name the cult gives to their process of infiltrating a house church. Followers are instructed to mingle with church members in order to identify those who are strong Christians and core members of the church. Likely targets are those who arrive before a church meeting and stay after, and who can look up Bible passages efficiently.
Cult members will try to befriend such people and to act like sincere truth seekers in order to gain their trust. Once the infiltrators have successfully “spied” these people, they begin to “pave the way” by asking questions to shake the Christian believer’s faith. They may invite the believer to a “Bible study,” for example, where instead of studying the Bible they badger the believer with questions such as, “Where is heaven? Is it on earth?” Or they will question the concept of the rapture of the church, a doctrine the cult ardently denies. Ultimately, they turn to preaching their message, which is the second incarnation of God. The author of the China for Jesus report predicted that they will begin to use an unknown fifth strategy now that this latest one has been exposed in recent years.

NEW HEADQUARTERS AT THE FEDERAL COURT OF AUSTRALIA
To simplify and ensure the proper legal process of our class action of our 28,000 and growing class action members, MAHA has filed a petition with the Federal Court of Australia.

REPLIES OF THE HIGH COURT
The largest collective action in the history of Australia.
On July 3, 2021, we filed a summons and attached to the summons against the Victorian government for false emergency treason and loss of constitutional rights in the Canberra Registry of the High Court of Australia on behalf of 16,824 co-joiners.
(Since developing the case, our co-joiners have skyrocketed over 28,000!)
The MAHA was then informed by the Canberra Registry that "class action proceedings do not fall within the original or appellate jurisdiction of the High Court". So we need to file our Class Action in a different Jurisdiction. The logical choice is the Federal Court of Australia, whose jurisdiction allows for class action.
We believe the Class Action aspect of our case is of paramount importance and therefore our team is now busy with this presentation and will keep you posted.

This Australian government no longer represents the Australian people.
This Australian government is now a company with international corporate clients.
This government agenda is funded and controlled by international corporate clients for the benefit of these clients and NOT for us, the Australian people.
This Australian government is blindly following mainland China's dictatorship and terrorizing the Australian people with a totally false panic based on corporate lies about the common cold that has been and will be with us forever. A strategic lure corporate artificial virus was released in Wuhan specifically to create fear and terror around the world.
The Australian government dictatorship has destroyed our economy, is robbing us of our human and legal rights, terrifies us with shocking and unfounded fear and panic, and is creating universal suffering for all Australians, destroying our businesses, assets, our lives and our families.
This is treason.
40,000 Australians have died since the beginning of February this year, 750 from the flu.
Have you heard of these Australians who died?
Nothing Nada Nix.
Has the Australian economy been shut down due to the deaths of these 40,000 Australians? Or even for the 750 deaths from the flu? NO.
What we are being shot 24/7 is a tiny minuscule of these unfortunate old age deaths that are still part of those 40,000, who have comorbid issues aside from old age, who are assigned by a RT- False positive PCR test designed for a totally unproven "flu-like" disease Covid19 that can't even pass Koch's postulates, the gold standard of infectious disease testing.
The President of Tanzania recently received tests for papayas, goats and birds again positive for Covid19 https://bit.ly/3beVera
It is estimated that 3000 Australians commit suicide directly as a result of this shocking campaign of terror and betrayal by the Australian government against us, the Australian people.
They tell us we are in a pandemic. Pandemics are defined by a huge number of people who become seriously ill and die. Where is this pandemic? It's like the emperor's new clothes. Nowhere.
The Australian Government's international pharmaceutical and corporate friends, whose sole focus is monetary profit, have taken over the World Health Organization, which has become Big Pharma's World Department for Marketing and Distribution of Unsafe and Untested Vaccines . Their main goal is to send poisonous, untested vaccines to the entire world population with huge profits.
And all this demic panic was designed to gain total control of the people of the world.
The vaccines have failed. The herd immunity of vaccines is a lie.
Vaccines are poisonous and have never been tested for safety. Australians are now sicker than we have ever been. Autism is skyrocketing. It is estimated that one in two Australian children will be autistic by 2025.
This could bring about the demise of the Australian nation.
4,000 innocent Australian babies and adults were killed directly by injecting vaccines.
1.5 million innocent Australian babies, children and adults, were directly mutilated by injecting vaccines.
There are literally thousands of scientific studies showing that unvaccinated children and adults are much healthier than vaccinated children and adults who have been systematically poisoned by vaccines.
Vaccines contain the most toxic foreign and man-made substances carried directly into our bloodstream, bypassing all of our natural immune defense systems.
Vaccines include both male and female contaminants and DNA from mice, pigs, dead cancerous human fetuses, cows, chickens, monkeys, dogs and worms. They contain live and dead viruses and bacteria that are injected directly into our bloodstream. Vaccines contain aluminum which is scientifically proven to directly cause autism. Vaccines contain many other poisons including formaldehyde, detergent, antifreeze, yeast, preservatives, and metals.
LET SOMETHING BE INJECTED INTO YOUR BODY THAT CAUSES:
Febrile respiratory disease, asthma, multiple sclerosis, chronic arthritis, arthralgia; myalgia, polyneuritis, encephalitis, encephalopathy, subacute sclerosing panencephalitis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, transverse myelitis, febrile convulsions; aphebrile seizures or convulsions, ataxia, polyneuritis, polyneuropathy, ocular paralysis, paraesthesia diabetes, anaphylactic shock and anaphylactoid reactions angioneurotic edema, autoimmune diseases, austism, severe eye infections or loss of vision, severe rash, encephalitis (severe brain reaction), which can lead to permanent brain damage, Severe infection starting at the vaccination site, Death, Hypersensitivity, Panniculitis; atypical measles; temperature; syncope; headache; dizziness; malaise; irritability, Vasculitis, Pancreatitis; diarrhea; He retched; mumps, nausea, thrombocytopenia, purpura, regional lymphadenopathy, leukocytosis, aseptic meningitis.
This is a partial list of the side effects of the measles mumps and rubella MMR vaccine.
Soon you won't be able to go to work, college, school, get your driver's license, go to the supermarket or leave the house without being fully vaccinated. It is already happening in Victoria and Western Australia.
Furthermore, while we are in isolation, the Australian government is stepping up the rollout of 5G, a totally dangerous and dangerous technology that has NEVER been tested for safety.
These politicians are working for international corporate fascist clients and not for you, the Australian people. Their final game is an Australian fascist corporate dictatorship.
The Constitution of Australia clearly states that we, the Australian people, control the government. They are our public employees.
Yet, covertly, the Australian Constitution is devastatingly eroded by these Traitors. They presented themselves as modern barons and lords, illegally bending the laws, paying huge salaries with our taxes, living in luxury and treating us Australians as second-class citizens. They have taken control of your Parliament, the People's Parliament of Australia, which we of the People of Australia have built, paid for and owned.
We are not allowed in Parliament to express our opinion against their international fascist corporate decisions, ladies and gentlemen. The Australian people have banished us from our own Parliament, in a dusty field half a kilometer in front of our Government Building, where pathetically, like slaves, we cry our complaints from afar, to the wind never to be heard.
This is a shocking state of Evil and Corruption in our great Southern Land.
They disown us, the Australian people. They steal our land, our water, our minerals and sell them to their cronies in the international government, in order to line their pockets.
They are selling Australia from under our feet, ladies and gentlemen.
One of our greatest and bravest Australian citizens, our international hero of truth, Julian Assange is allowed to rot in prison in an overseas country, by these spineless Gollums who flock to and get paid by the United States, China and from other foreign countries, and the Antichrist Bill Gates and his cronies who plan to take over the whole world via their fake Panic Demic, based on a false disease, Covid19 and a fake RT-PCR test, all run by their Big Department. Pharma marketing and distribution of untested and poisonous vaccines which can now be called the World Organization of Hell.
Not anymore.
Australia is time for us to rebel
WE DO NOT ALLOW FALSE LOCKDOWN, SELF-INSULATING, SOCIAL DISTANCE, TRACKING APP
WE DO NOT ALLOW 5G TO BE GROUND INSTALLED WHILE WE ARE LOCK DOWN
WE DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO BE INJECTED WITH POISONOUS VACCINES NOT TESTED MANDATORY AND COERCITIVE AND MICROCHIP AND NANOBOT
WE VOTE NO TRUST IN THIS TRAITOR TIRANNIC FASCIST GOVERNMENT THAT DESTROYS OUR LIFE, OUR AID AND OUR COUNTRY FOR A FALSE PANIC DEMIC BASED ON A FALSE DISEASE AND FALSE ASSOCIATED TESTS
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE IDIOTIC AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT AND RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR FAILURE TO MAINTAIN THE AUSTRALIAN CONSTITUTION, YOUR DECEPTION, YOUR BETRAYAL AND YOUR CRIMES YOU ARE COMMITING AGAINST ALL AUSTRALIANS
IT IS THE BIGGEST AGAINST IN HISTORY. And our ridiculously STUPID Australian government is backing it up and controlled by its cronies like banking cartels, Big Pharma, Anti-Christ Gates, WHO which is wholly owned by vaccine cartels and Big Pharma and other NWO players. . Our Australian media is also owned by these same satanic organizations. It is as clear as the nose on our face.
And we Australians for our part are treated like totally brainless animals. All our human rights have been stripped from us, including the right to decide what is injected into our bodies and into the bodies of our children. We can't even move from our homes or visit our friends and families or enjoy parties or sports. Our businesses are being destroyed and taken away from us, as are our homes and other assets. We have been ruined and thrown into abject poverty by our OWN GOVERNMENT. We are fined $ 1,500 for talking to someone.
Where are all the millions of people who die from this fake Covid19?
THEY DO NOT EXIST. THEY MUST "STEAL" DEATH FROM OLD AGE AND DEATH FROM CO-SOFTNESS TO TRY TO STRENGTHEN THE FALSE NUMBER OF "COVID19" DEATHS. PLEASE WAKE UP. HOW CAN YOU ACCEPT THIS ABSOLUTE MADNESS?
WAKE UP and say NO NO NO. Join us on Saturday 30th May at 12pm across Australia. WAKE UP AUSTRALIA. YOU ARE CONNECTED. THEY STAY WHILE YOU. THEY GIVE YOU BRAIN WASH. And what's worse is that this fake Covid19 disease has been defined as "flu-like symptoms" and therefore this FALSE COVID19 will be with us FOREVER. WE WILL LOSE ALL OUR RIGHTS FOREVER.
IT'S THE BIGGEST CRAP LOAD EVER. IF IT WAS NOT SO SHOCK IT WOULD BE ALL JUST A TOTAL MASSAGE. IT IS THE GREATEST SATANIC EVIL SPREADED BY AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENTS AND IDIOTS AUSTRALIAN MEDIA ALL BY ORDER OF THE NWO, BIG PHARMA, THE ANTICHRIST DOORS AND VACCINE MANUFACTURERS THAT CONTROL WHO, 'THE WORLD HELL ORGANIZATION' acting Department of Distribution Vaccines ..
There is no "pandemic". There is no "Covid19". It's all a Big Pharma marketing spin. A source of disease must overcome Koch's postulates. SARS-CoV2 doesn't come close. The "Covid19" RT-PCR test is false. The figures on the death of "Covid19" are completely false, stolen from old age and deaths from comorbidities. There is no increase in death anywhere on the planet. Just a shocking hypnotic satanic shock. WAKE UP. ALL WAKE UP.
The latest NON-CONTROVERSE evidence of this shocking FRAUD is that global death statistics in the world have not increased and in fact have decreased, eg. in the United States during this fraudulent panic. Statistics on death from old age and other comorbid diseases have been blatantly used to bolster the fraudulent numbers of Covid19 deaths. THIS WHOLE DEMIC OF PANIC IS A TOTAL COUNTER FROM BEGINNING TO FINISH FOR GLOBAL FASCIST SATANIC CONTROL, MANIPULATION, FEAR, ECONOMIC DESTRUCTION, AND MANDATORY VACCINATION.
STAND UP AUSTRALIA AND SAY NO, NO, NO. AND ON MAY 1, THE MANDATORY FLU VACCINATION ARRIVED IN AUSTRALIA
These government idiots don't realize that aside from shocking death, poisoning, side effects and the ineffectiveness of the flu shot in particular, a vaccinated person spreads SEVEN TIMES more flu "viruses" than a person. not vaccinated. For some real facts about flu vaccines visit https://bit.ly/2zFElJb https://bit.ly/35aj1XI

THIS PANIC DEMIC IS ABSOLUTELY FALSE. There is another program, World Fascist Control. Compulsory vaccination. The test is false, the SARSCoV2 is a smokescreen, the death numbers are false. And even with their false death numbers, millions of people are NOT dying. There is no pandemic. WAKE UP AUSTRALIA

Jennifer Kelly 2020: I’m done expecting next year to be better
Tumblr media
Not to belabor the point, which has been covered everywhere, but 2020 sucked. My last live concert was on March 7th. It was 75 Dollar Bill in a beautiful reconfigured industrial space on the Amherst College campus, and I already had questions about whether I should be there or not. The show was worth it, absolutely riveting, and no one I know got sick from it, but a couple of weeks later, Amherst College shut down and then, basically, the world.
When I think about 2020, I think about bands that don’t fully make sense unless you see them live, and how, this year, no one got to see them live. I think about musicians who were barely making it before, now cut off from concert revenues and, in a lot of cases, day jobs at restaurants, coffee shops and bars. I think about six-digit medical bills from multi-week COVID-19 treatments, and how my insurance will only cut that to low five figures. I think about the constant spew of bile and nonsense, the willful destruction of American institutions and the persistent sense that we will never recover from any of this, and I look for refuge.
Most of the time in music. Because the music kept coming even when everything else shut down. Even the artists who were holding back for better conditions ended up releasing EVERY ALBUM ON EARTH starting about September 18th. There was always music, good music, interesting music, beautiful music, and while that doesn’t compensate for a terrible year, it was something.
Here are 10 albums I loved best from 2020, with links to reviews or other articles I’ve written about them.
1. Gunn-Truscinski — Soundkeeper (Three Lobed)
Soundkeeper by Gunn-Truscinski Duo
A gorgeous exploration of mood and tone, this double CD set includes two extended live cuts and ten more recorded just down the road in Easthampton, Massachusetts. (And I thought nothing ever happened up here.) “Pyramid Merchandise” punches the hardest, John Truscinski balancing rock solid beat keeping with abstracted sculptures of percussive experiment, while Gunn finds the sweetness and the growl in his blues-touched guitar sound. But “Ocean City” is pure lovely respite, with big rounded notes dropping slowly and with grace through wavering transparencies of sustained tone. Long, searching, “Soundkeeper” will rekindle your longing for live improvised music, while the closer “For Eddie Hazel” vibrates with supercharged intensity, the notes and the steady rhythm too bright and beautiful to look at straight on.
2. Six Organs of Admittance — Companion Rises (Drag City)
Companion Rises by Six Organs of Admittance
Chasny imbues the down-home with wonder and the inexplicable with natural grace in this album inspired by stargazing. The album’s name references the way Sirius appears close to Orion, and the rollicking “The Scout Is Here,” commemorates the appearance of the Oumuamua asteroid, but this is no squiggle-y space opera. The music is mainly made of clean, all-natural picking, blues bends, and rambling jangle, though ruptured, periodically, by rushing, whooshing, amplified electronic sounds. Warm, simple clarity is tipped with awe in finger-picked “Black Tea,” while mists and mysteries predominate in evanescent “Worn Down to the Light,” but the joy comes in the balance between the ordinary and the unknowable shimmering like stars in a black sky.
3. Gil Scott-Heron and Makaya McCraven — We’re New Again (XL Recordings)
youtube
When the estate of Gil Scott-Heron asked Chicago composer, percussionist and hip hop chopper Makaya McCraven to reimagine the artist’s last, most personal album, McCraven jumped at the chance to tackle its themes of black struggle, black family and perseverance. McCraven surrounded Scott-Heron’s words with shimmering, post-jazz arrangements that incorporated some of his father’s recordings (his dad is jazz drummer Stephen McCraven) in an ongoing tribute to the blood relatives who shape and equip young black men for a challenging world. The music is wonderful, very different from the original, spare, blues-based arrangements, but they open out the master’s words in an illuminating way. I like, especially, the hustling, shuffling movement of “New York Is Killing Me,” which summons the city’s energy as clearly as the feel of heat rising out of a subway grate in August.
4. Obnox — Savage Raygun (Ever/Never)
Savage Raygun by Obnox
Obnox’s psychedelic mayhem roars like a California wildfire, setting a torch to rock, soul, hip hop, jazz and punk with fuzz-crusted abandon. Icons like Hawkwind flare out and curl into white-hot ash, while even Neil Young’s lick from “Southern Man,” is consumed in the all-encompassing heat of Lamont Thomas’ onslaught (“Young Neezy”). A double album, Savage Raygun covers a lot of ground, but in such a kinetic rush that it seems like one entity that stretched from end to end.
5. Anjimile — Giver Taker (Father/Daughter)
Giver Taker by Anjimile
Anjimile sounds beautifully comfortable with their new vocal range in this second full-length, which follows a gender transition. Pitched low and warm, their voice effortlessly navigates subtle melodies, integrating complex, African-leaning rhythms into songs about love, identify, family friction and the possibility of redemption through embracing one’s authentic self.
6. Osees — Protean Threat (Castleface)
Protean Threat by Oh Sees
John Dwyer has fronted bands called The O.Cs., The Ohsees, Thee Ohsees and now just Osees, evolving from a one-man bedroom pop outfit to a gleefully slopping garage pop project to a droning, krautrocking motoric monster along the way. This newest iteration takes a little of this, a little of that, from the repertoire, putting Dwyer’s best Bo Diddley-esque stomper in years (“If I Had My Way”) next to a wiggy psychedelic freak bomb called “Toadstool” which is adjacent to the dub-scented, narcotic head trip called “Gong of Catastrophe.” The mix works because Dwyer and his band commit to all of it, sequentially and within tracks. It’s the best Osees in years, all the good things in one package.
7. Sam Amidon — S-T (Nonesuch)
youtube
As always, Amidon starts with traditional, mostly folk and blues material and, as always, he transforms it into something more adventurous, spiritual and faintly otherworldly. With Shahzad Ismaily and Antibalas’ Chris Vatalaro to back him up, he breaks down the unyielding contours of pre-modern banjo tunes and porch blues, finding steady drones and complex afro-beat syncopations in their steady melodies. You can hear “Cuckoo Bird” a million times in a million different voices and never hear it as luminous and open-ended as here.
8. James Elkington — Ever Roving Eye (Paradise of Bachelors)
youtube
James Elkington is always pressed for time, maybe because he works regularly for so many other people’s bands (Richard Thompson, Jeff Tweedy, Spencer Tweedy) and collaborates with others (Steve Gunn). And yet his second solo album brims with balm and solace; he finds time in the interstices between warm, jazz-scented, Pentangle-esque verses and intricate flurries of picked and strummed and electric guitar. Even “Nowhere Time,” which exhorts “It is time for you to move,” has an ease and calm to it, while “Moon Tempering” is as still and lovely as winter starlight. Ever-Roving Eye is an album that assures us we’ll get it all done somehow, but just stop for a minute and listen.
9. Jehnny Beth — To Love Is To Live (Arts & Crafts)
youtube
This riveting solo debut from the Savages frontperson is both quieter and more intense than her full-band compositions, juxtaposing incendiary spoken word with the hedonistic thump of the dance floor. Guests are varied—Joe Talbot of IDLES at one pole, the actor Cillian Murphy at the other—but the music never drifts from Jehnny Beth’s singular viewpoint. Compare her to PJ Harvey or Beth Gibbons or Bobby Gillespie as you will (I did), but this is her 100%, and there’s nothing else like it.
10. Cable Ties — Far Enough (Merge)
Far Enough by Cable Ties
Australia churns out quality punk bands like the Hershey factory makes kisses, and Cable Ties, formed in Melbourne by four young rebels, ranks as one of the best to surface here in America this year. “Tell Them Where to Go” is the money track here, all rust-crusted bass crunch and ragged estrogenated vocal energy. But let’s not put them in the “girl band” ghetto. As I said in my review, “The easy thing would be to compare McKechnie’s vibrato-zinging vocals with those of Sleater-Kinney’s Corin Tucker or her verbal agility to Courtney Barnett, but the blunt force and agile violence of the music, brings to mind post-punk bands like the Wipers, Protomartyr and Eddy Current.”
Honorable mention
I also really enjoyed these albums in 2020.
Lewsberg — In this House (12XU)
Damien Jurado — What’s New Tomboy (Mamabird)
Bill Callahan — Gold Record (Drag City)
Mike Polizze — Long Lost Solace Find (Paradise of Bachelors)
Destroyer — Have We Met (Merge)
Decoy w/ Joe McPhee — AC/DC (otoROKU)
Thurston Moore — By the Fire (Daydream Library)
Tobin Sprout — Empty Horse (Fire)
FACS — Void Moments (Trouble in Mind)
Elkhorn — The Storm Sessions (Beyond Beyond Is Beyond)
Howling Hex — Knuckleball Express (Fat Possum)
Wendy Eisenberg — Auto (BaDaBing)
Xetas — The Cypher (12XU)
Califone — Echo Mine (Jealous Butcher)
Chouk Bwa & The Ångströmers — Vodou Alé (Bongo Joe)
Shopping — All or Nothing (Fat Cat)
Bonny Light Horseman — S-T (37d03d)
Tashi Dorji — Stateless (Drag City)
The Slugs — Don’t Touch Me I’m Too Slimy (2214099 Records DK)
Dr. Pete Larson and his Cytotoxic Nyatiti Band — S-T (Dagonetti)

Despite the dumpster fire of 2020, here are 11 huge achievements we made in science
Tumblr media
With just a handful of days left in this strange beast of a year that will most certainly go down in history books, we thought it would be nice to reflect on the marvellous things scientists still delivered, despite everything.
Of course, scientific achievements are usually years in the making. Nevertheless, here’s a round-up of some of the exciting science news we reported in 2020. Just to remember that it wasn’t all terrible.
1. We found the first known extraterrestrial protein in a meteorite
Could life emerge elsewhere in the Solar System? As curious and intelligent beings, humans are naturally interested in finding out if living creatures thrive beyond the confines of our little blue space rock. One way to discover this requires turning to meteorites.
Earlier this year, scientists revealed they had found the first-ever extraterrestrial protein, tucked inside a meteorite that fell to Earth 30 years ago.
“We’re pretty sure that proteins are likely to exist in space,” astronomer Chenoa Tremblay told ScienceAlert in March. “But if we can actually start finding evidence of their existence, and what some of the structures and the common structures might be, I think that’s really interesting and exciting.”
2. We avoided some troubling changes in the atmosphere
A new study revealed that the famed Montreal Protocol – the 1987 agreement to stop producing ozone-depleting substances – could be responsible for pausing, or even reversing, some troubling changes in air currents around our planet’s Southern Hemisphere.
Healing the protective ozone layer surrounding Earth seems to have paused the migration of an air current known as the southern jet stream, a phenomenon that ended up pushing parts of Australia into prolonged drought.
“If the ozone layer is recovering, and the circulation is moving north, that’s good news on two fronts,” explained chemist Ian Rae from the University of Melbourne.
3. An AI solved a 50-year-old biology challenge, decades before anyone expected
Earlier this month, scientists at the UK-based artificial intelligence company DeepMind announced that a new AI system had effectively solved a long-standing and incredibly complex scientific problem concerning the structure and behaviour of proteins.
For about 50 years, researchers have strived to predict how proteins achieve their three-dimensional structure. The astronomical number of potential configurations has made this task – known as the protein-folding problem – incredibly difficult.
DeepMind’s success means a huge step forward in a range of research endeavours, from disease modelling and drug discovery, to applications far beyond health research.
youtube
4. Scientists used fast radio bursts to find the Universe’s missing matter
In a mesmerising tale of mystery within a mystery, earlier this year a really clever application of fast radio burst (FRB) tracing gave astronomers an answer to a perplexing question – just where is the missing matter in the Universe?
We’re not talking about dark matter here, but the baryonic (normal) matter that should be there on account of all our calculations, but simply couldn’t be detected until now. The Universe is vast, and the stretches between galaxies enormous. Yet in that seemingly empty space, lone atoms are still kicking around.
While looking for the source of the powerful interstellar signals known as FRBs, researchers figured out that extremely diffuse gas can account for all the missing ‘normal’ matter in the Universe. Phew.
5. We also confirmed the first-ever detection of an FRB in our own galaxy
That’s right. On 28 April 2020, a Milky Way magnetar called SGR 1935+2154 flared up in a single, millisecond-long burst so incredibly bright, it would have been detectable from another galaxy.
This landmark detection made a huge and immediate impact on the study of mysterious FRBs, that until now had only been detected coming from outside our galaxy, making their precise source difficult to pin down.
“This sort of, in most people’s minds, settles the origin of FRBs as coming from magnetars,” astronomer Shrinivas Kulkarni of Caltech told ScienceAlert.
Astronomers had a whale of a time doing follow-up work on this detection, and by November we also had confirmation that this intra-galactic FRB is a repeater. We can expect even more excitement around this next year, for sure.
6. SpaceX and NASA made history with the first crewed launch
Space enthusiasts truly had lots of cause for excitement this year, as various launches and space missions soldiered on despite the global pandemic. On 30 May 2020, SpaceX became the first private space company to deliver NASA astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS).

— NASA (@NASA) May 30, 2020
Not only did they safely bring them home several months later, another crewed launch went off without a hitch in November, delivering four astronauts to the space station – the first in what will likely be many routine missions in 2021 and beyond.
7. NASA touched an asteroid, and JAXA brought back a sample
After a long trip of more than 320 million kilometres (200 million miles), NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft finally touched down on asteroid Bennu in October, collecting a sample of its surface rubble, its efforts captured for posterity in magnificent footage delivered by the space agency. We can expect the probe to return with its precious cargo in 2023.
Last year, the Japanese space agency JAXA achieved a similar feat with the Hayabusa2 probe, collecting a sample from asteroid Ryugu. In December this year, we witnessed the safe return of that sample, and have already been treated to a first glimpse of some of the black dust the team retrieved. We can’t wait to learn more about what these asteroid missions will discover.

8. Scientists found the first animal that doesn’t need oxygen to survive
Back here on our own world, biologists were in for a surprise when they found the first multicellular organism without a mitochondrial genome – which means an organism that doesn’t breathe. In fact, it lives without any need for oxygen at all.
While some single-celled organisms are known to thrive perfectly well in anaerobic conditions, the fact this common salmon parasite, a jellyfish-like creature Henneguya salminicola, doesn’t need oxygen to survive is quite remarkable, and has left researchers with many new questions to answer.

9. We got spectacular footage of a “long stringy stingy thingy” off the coast of Australia
Back in April, a trailing ribbon of conjoined tentacled clones caused quite a stir amongst a bunch of biologists exploring a little-studied part of the ocean off the coast of Western Australia. This strange entity was a particularly long siphonophore, a floating string of thousands of individual zooids. In fact, it could be one of the longest such strings ever observed.
Check out this beautiful *giant* siphonophore Apolemia recorded on #NingalooCanyons expedition. It seems likely that this specimen is the largest ever recorded, and in strange UFO-like feeding posture. “Everyone was blown away when it came into view,” biologists Nerida Wilson and Lisa Kirkendale from the Western Australian Museum told ScienceAlert.
“There was a lot of excitement. People came pouring into the control room from all over the ship. Siphonophores are commonly seen but this one was both large and unusual-looking.”
10. A physicist came up with the mathematics that makes ‘paradox-free’ time travel plausible
Wouldn’t it be great to pop into a time-machine and fix up some mishap you’ve done in your past, all without accidentally killing your grandfather in the process?
Well, 2020 also became the year when we learned of a mathematically sound solution to time travel that doesn’t muck everything up. Physics student Germain Tobar from the University of Queensland in Australia worked out how to “square the numbers” to make time travel viable without the paradoxes.
While it hasn’t gotten us immediately closer to having a working time machine, his calculations show that space-time can potentially adapt itself to avoid paradoxes. And, according to Tobar’s supervisor, the mathematics checks out. Fabulous.
11. The first COVID-19 vaccines are already being administered outside of clinical trials
The single biggest challenge the world faced this year was the global COVID-19 pandemic. Healthcare professionals and essential workers have carried much of the burden of keeping society afloat, and we can never thank them enough. Meanwhile, researchers from myriad relevant fields – from immunology to genetics – have also worked tirelessly all year long to better understand the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
That work will continue into the new year, but in late November we finally got the first taste of what it means to accelerate scientific research and funding beyond its typical pace. The very first vaccines intended to protect people from COVID-19 have already completed all the necessary phases of clinical trials, and are being rolled out in the UK, US, and parts or Europe.
Lots more will need to be done before we can put this devastating pandemic behind us and protect the most vulnerable communities worldwide, but already having effective vaccines is a truly fantastic achievement, and without a doubt the biggest cause for celebration of science this year. One to carry us into 2021 full of hope.

Top 7 Commercial Ads of all time
Commercial Ads: A Brief
Reaching your target audience online has never been easier or harder. On the one hand, video, the undisputed king of digital content is now easier to create commercial Ads and spread to your audience than ever before thanks to social channels and ad networks. On the other, everybody’s getting involved with video advertising. You need to create something truly excellent, perfectly tailored to your audience, to stand out.
Here are some Top 7 commercial Ads of all time what should you learn from them!
Coke: Share a Coke Commercial Ad Campaign: Print
Tumblr media
Big brands are often hard-pressed to do something ground-breaking when they’re already so big. So, what did Coca-Cola do to appeal to the masses? They appealed to individuals — by putting their names on each bottle.
The Share a Coke campaign began in Australia in 2011 when Coca-Cola personalized each bottle with the 150 most popular names in the country. Since then, the U.S. has followed suit, printing first names across the front of its bottles and cans in Coke’s branded font. You can even order custom bottles on Coke’s website to request things like nicknames and college logos.
It was a breaking story across the marketing and advertising industry. Many consumers were enchanted by it, while others were confused by it why make a temporary item so personal? Pepsi even released commercial Ads shortly after the campaign launched
The Lesson
Coke fans are regular buyers, and the company leaned into that sense of individual ownership with full force. Wondering what name you’ll get out of the vending machine was a fun thrill in and of itself even if it isn’t yours, it encourages you to “share a Coke” with whoever’s name is on the front.
2. Miller Lite: Great Taste, Less Filling (1974) commercial Ad Campaign: Print, Television
Tumblr media
Think it’s easy to create a whole new market for your product? The Miller Brewing Company (now Miller Coors) did just that with the light beer market and dominated it. The goal of the “Great Taste, Less Filling” campaign was getting “real men” to drink light beer, but they were battling the common misconception that light beer can never actually taste good. Taking the debate head-on, Miller featured masculine models drinking their light beer and declaring it great tasting.
The Lesson
For decades after this campaign aired, Miller Lite dominated the light beer market it had essentially created. What’s the lesson marketers can learn? Strive to be different. If people tell you there isn’t room for a product, create your own category so you can quickly become the leader
3. Volkswagen: Think Small (1960)
commercial Ad  Standalone : Print
Tumblr media
Many marketing and advertising professionals like to call Volkswagen’s “Think Small” campaign the gold standard. Created in 1960 by a legendary advertising group at Doyle Dane & Bernbach (DDB), the campaign set out to answer one question: How do you change peoples’ perceptions not only about a product but also about an entire group of people?
See, Americans always had a propensity to buy big American cars — and even 15 years after WWII ended, most Americans were still not buying small German cars. So what did this Volkswagen advertisement do? It played right into the audience’s expectations. Do you think I’m small? Yeah, I am. They never tried to be something they were not.
The Lesson
That’s the most important takeaway from this campaign: Don’t try to sell your company, product, or service as something it’s not. Consumers recognize and appreciate honesty.
4. Metro Trains: Dumb Ways to Die (2012)
Commercial Ad Campaign: Internet, Radio
Tumblr media
Yes, you read that right: Dumb Ways to Die.
In Melbourne, Australia, Metro Trains wanted to get across a simple message: No horsing around near train tracks. Disorderly conduct could lead to injuries or even death, but instead of typical warning signs or announcements inside train stations, Metro Trains came up with Dumb Ways to Die, a song that has garnered 157 million YouTube views since it debuted in 2012.
The song is about dumb ways to die — for example, by poking a grizzly bear with a stick, or taking your helmet off in outer space — and it features a catchy little chorus you won’t be able to stop humming to yourself (because singing it is a little morbid): “Dumb ways to die, so many dumb ways to die.”
At the end of the video, after you’ve watched adorable cartoon characters dying in the dumbest of ways, you get to the moral of the story: There are many dumb ways to die, but the dumbest possible way would be if you died while standing on the edge of a train platform, drove through a railroad sign, or tried to cross over a train track.
The video ad went viral on YouTube, the song was made available on iTunes, and it even played over the radio with an accompanying ad.
The Lesson
This beloved, now-famous campaign communicates a simple idea creatively and memorably — and you don’t feel like you’re being nagged, the way some public service announcements do. If your subject matter is grim or boring, consider using creativity to get your message across.
5. Clairol: Does She or Doesn’t She? (1957)commercial Ad Standalone Ad: Print
The first time Clairol asked this question in 1957, the answer was 1 to 15 as in, only 1 in 15 people were using artificial hair color. Just 11 years later, the answer was 1 of 2, according to Time Magazine. The ad was apparently so successful that some states stopped requiring women to denote hair color on their driver’s license. When your ad campaign starts changing things at the DMV, you know you’ve hit nerves Clairol did the opposite of what most marketers would do: They didn’t want every woman on the street running around saying they were using their product. They wanted women to understand that their product was so good that people wouldn’t be able to tell if they were using it or not.
The Lesson
Sometimes, simply conveying how and why your product works are enough for consumers. Showing becomes more effective than telling.
6. De Beers: A Diamond is forever (1999)commercial Ad Campaign: Print, Television
Tumblr media
In 1999, Adage declared De Beers’ “A Diamond is Forever” the most memorable slogan of the twentieth century. But the campaign, which proposed (pun very much intended) the idea that no marriage would be complete without a diamond ring, wasn’t just riding on the coattails of an existing industry. De beers actually built the industry it presented the idea that a diamond ring was a necessary luxury. Where almost every person pledging marriage feels compelled to acquire a diamond engagement ring.”
The LessonAdvertising can make a relatively inexpensive product seem luxurious and essential.
7.Procter & Gamble: Thank You, Mom (2012)commercial Ad Campaign: Television
Tumblr media
‘ll give you a minute to dry your eyes after that one.
Seriously — you wouldn’t expect a household and cleaning Products Company commercial to pull at the heartstrings like that, would you? Lately, though, Procter & Gamble (P&G) has launched some of the best commercial Ads we’ve ever seen from the consumer goods industry.
That’s because P&G identified the story behind the story of Olympic athletes — the stories of the supportive moms who pushed these world-class athletes throughout their entire lives leading up to that crowning moment. And yes, they probably had to do a lot of laundry and cleanup along the way — presumably using P&G products.
The Lesson
Make your audience cry (just kidding). The season or time period of your ad is important. But even if you run an ad during the Olympic Games, as P&G did, make sure it has longevity and a message that can influence people no matter when or where they see it.
Emotional nostalgia marketing is powerful tactics to get people to make buying choices, so if there’s a bigger, more universal story behind your product or story, tap into it and showcase it front-and-center.

Until last week, the Kangaroo Island glossy black cockatoo was one of Australia’s conservation success stories. Thanks to a recovery program that began in 1995, its wild population increased from 150 to 400, and its status was downgraded from critically endangered to endangered.
Now it’s part of an unfolding horror story.
Fires have raged across nearly 50 percent of Kangaroo Island, a 4,400-square-kilometer isle off the coast of the state of South Australia, destroying the habitat of the great majority of the birds. It’s unclear how many glossy black cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus lathami halmaturinus) survived. For those that escaped the flames, food may be scarce; it eats the seeds of single tree species in its habitat, the drooping she oak.
Many years of hard work have gone up in smoke and “it’s a big step backwards for the recovery team,” says Daniella Teixeira, a conservation biologist at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, who has studied and worked to protect the birds for the last four years. Even if just a quarter of the population has been killed, the subspecies could end up back on the critically endangered list, she says.

Similar stories are playing out across Australia, where, as of January 12, months of wildfires had burned nearly 11 million hectares — an area larger than the nation of Guatemala. More than 2,200 homes have gone up in flames and 29 people have been killed, and there are still two months of bushfire season left to go. Already, the toll on animals and plants, many of which are evolutionarily unique and endemic to the continent, is mind-boggling.
It’s an ecological disaster unprecedented in the nation’s history. More than 1 billion animals have been killed so far, says Christopher Dickman, an ecologist at the University of Sydney. That estimate has been extrapolated based on previous calculations of the number of Australian animals lost over a given area due to land-clearing practices.
The true number could be much higher, however, as this estimate does not include bats, frogs or invertebrates. “Invertebrates make up more 95 percent of animal species and the vast majority of animal biomass,” says Mike Lee, a biologist at the South Australian Museum in Adelaide. Invertebrate losses alone could therefore number in the trillions. He fears for species including the vulnerable Richmond birdwing butterfly (Ornithoptera richmondia) and numerous peacock spiders, these “jewels of the arachnid world,” whose habitats in eastern Australia have been badly impacted (SN: 5/14/19).

The extreme intensity of the fires and the speed with which they have moved – thrust  forward in some instances by winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour — have also added to the death toll. As a result, largely tree-bound species such as koalas and fluffy swooping marsupials called greater gliders have had little chance to escape (SN: 7/2/18). Even many birds, which can fly away, have become disorientated by smoke and strong winds and killed.
Many habitats have been destroyed as well, setting up a crisis that will continue long after the fires die down. Even if animals such as small marsupials survive the fires, they may have no suitable habitat or food remaining — and they also face threats from cats and foxes, introduced predators that return to burnt landscapes and prey on survivors left exposed in habitats devoid of cover.
For endangered species, often adapted to specific ecological niches and hanging on in highly fragmented patches of remnant habitat, the fire devastation threatens to push them to — or past — the edge of extinction. The glossy black cockatoo is just one of 20 to 100 threatened plants or animals that a group of scientists now report have lost most, if not all, of their habitat to the fires. Six of Australia’s leading biologists, including Dickman, published the first written estimate of the scale of the damage on January 8 in The Conversation, a nonprofit online publication that publishes commentary from researchers.
“Some animals may have been lucky enough to find refuge and survive,” says Euan Ritchie, an ecologist at Deakin University in Melbourne. “It might not always be the case that animals have been completely wiped out in these habitats, however given the scale and severity of these fires [in Australia], there’s no question that, even common species and not just threatened species, will have been affected quite dramatically.”
Australian fires have incinerated the habitats of up to 100 threatened species
