I have come to admit that my own toxic trait is that i DO hold a quiet disdain for people who think that putting flatpack furniture together is hard. Why is IKEA furniture in particular regarded as some Ultimate Test for Couples - "If you build it without killing each other, he's the one, haha!" ???? Like, listen, I get it, i've got a fuck'd wrist nowadays so I DO find that hammering peg A into slot B is considerably more difficult than it used to be, but the task ITSELF? It's like building lego, y'all. Except that at the end of it, you end up with not just some sort of miniature spaceship (admittedly very cool, if not particularly useful) but a functional and stylish side table. It's the perfect enrichment. I smashed together three Billy bookcases last summer with nothing but a screwdriver, a pencil, and the love in my heart, and I had the time of my life. Do you, too, not feel a thrill in your heart at the satisfying feeling of a cam lock twisting into place? Do not the tiny little crinkly bags of screws remind you of candy wrappers to be torn open and piled gleefully upon the floor, like a child at Halloween emptying your haul onto the living room carpet? Am I the freak, or are you? I am willing to accept the former but i die on this hill regardless
#i am FANTASTIC at flatpack#the only problem nowadays is that my eds likes to add pain to the mix#but the actual process itself is easy#ikea

#Dracula; seeing the Captain's last act: 'How am I supposed to steer now!?' #God and the Captain: 'Wouldn't you like to know weather boy' (tags by see-arcane)
Reminder that the Captain of the Demeter tired himself up on the steering wheel with a crucifix. That's a pretty significant thing that happened. Dracula is very much not steering the ship.

I've seen a couple of people doing this trend (most recently @saritawolff) and I wanted to jump on! I went with baby forms because I would have put entire lines up otherwise...

Overtime Mode activated!
Since we were on the knife edge between making it or not, Kickstarter have graciously extended our campaign by a week to make sure we get across the line.
Now we have a few extra days, we're sure we can get there! Especially with some of the news we have to share later this week. Stay tuned... 🌻

Have now played Dead Take twice in twenty-four hours, absolutely recommend. It's fairly short (first run took me four and a half hours, second run took three) and has a few too many jumpscares, but the performances and atmosphere are. So good.
Some Theorising(tm) about what's actually... happening because I have yet to stop thinking about it.
So I'm like, 90% sure both Chase and Vinny are dead? They were both at the party (Chase's name is listed as a possibility on the guest list) and they both never made it out, and Chase trying to investigate what happened to Vinny is also him trying to work out what happened to himself.
The isolated, frozen-in-time atmosphere. I love the concept of a ghost haunting the place they died but not seeing anyone else moving through the space.
Speaking of frozen in time - the phones, the computer, and the baby monitor all have the same time, 10:10, which could have been the time Chase died.
Possibly a shortcut to avoid having to program a reflection, but Chase doesn't show up in mirrors.
The weird shit, general horror vibes, and jumpscares fit well with a haunting.
The mysterious messages Chase is getting, and the voice mails from Duke, could be his unconscious trying to put together the messed-up stuff he learned at the party.
Duke seems to be intentionally pitting Chase and Vinny against each other, telling them to cut each other loose for the sake of the role, and tells both that people would kill for the role.
Duke tells both Chase and Vinny that he sees them 'like a son', and not only is his son dead, but it's implied that Duke had something to do with it.
Vinny has that bloodied note implying that he's done something terrible; Chase very much shoots Vinny (or at least an effigy of him).
Chase appears to be violently attacked by the mannequins several times, including once by a figure intended to represent Vinny.
So my theory is that Duke intentionally used the party to pit Chase and Vinny against each other, fueling both of their ambition and hunger. Vinny violently assaults Chase, who's badly wounded, Vinny freaks out and writes the bloodied note, Chase shoots him in retaliation, both die of their injuries, and now Chase is stuck trying to work out what the hell happened so he can move on.
I don't know. Thoughts?
